THE TRANSMISSION WAS WORKING FINE AS WE WERE RUNNING ERRANDS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. THE CAR ALSO BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THEN STALL. ALL THIS HAPPENED IN MINUTES. THE CAR WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET CREATING AN UNSAFE POSITION. WE TOOK THE CAR TO AUTOZONE AFTER IT WOULD GO INTO GEAR AGAIN AND THEY PULLED A DIAGNOSTIC CODE OF P0776. THE CODE IS TRANSMISSION RELATED. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN ON CITY STREETS THAT NIGHT.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY GEAR SHIFTER REMAINS IN A STUCK POSITION. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY ON A CITY STREET. I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO ANOTHER GEAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAVE GOTTEN STUCK WITH MY TODDLER IN THE CAR AND WAS UNABLE TO MOVE TO A SAFER LOCATION. IT TOOK ME AT LEAST 15 MINUTES TO GET THE CAR TO SHIFT FROM PARK INTO GEAR. I WAS TERRIFIED! I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR IN ITS LOCATION AND TAKE A LYFT HOME WITH MY DAUGHTER. THE NEXT DAY MY LOCAL MECHANIC CAME TO CHECK THE CAR. HE SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR 2013 NISSAN ALTIMAS. HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR TO HIS SHOP TO INVESTIGATE WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THIS FAILURE OR I SHOULD CALL UP NISSAN BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE REAR CONTROL ARM BROKE OFF. THE CAR ONLY HAS 46,000 MILES AND IS 5 YEAR OLD YET RUSTED SO BADLY FROM THE INSIDE OUT THAT THE ARM COMPLETELY BROKE OFF..
WE BOUGHT THE ALTIMA NEW IN 2013. AFTER THREE YEARS, THE HEADLIGHTS STARTED GETTING DIM. NOW IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. HIGH BEAMS WORK GREAT, BUT UNSAFE TO USE ON TWO WAY ROADS. WENT TO LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, AND THERE IS NO RECALL, AND I WOULD NEED TO PAY $1200 TO REPLACE HEADLIGHTS. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE, AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY NISSAN.
I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY CAR HAVE BEEN VERY DIM RECENTLY. I REALLY DIDN'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION UNTIL MY WIFE KEPT SAYING THAT SHE CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR AT NIGHT BECAUSE IT'S TOO DARK ON THE ROAD. I DID NOTICE THAT I WAS USING MY HIGHBEAMS MORE OFTEN. I CALLED DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY BULB AND THEY DO GO DIM. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY LOOKED AT IT AND TOLD THE ISSUE WAS NOT WITH THE BULB BUT IT LOOKED LIKE THE LENS WAS CLOUDY. THEY GAVE ME A PRICE OF $1100 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. AFTER READING ALL THESE INTERNET COMPLAINTS I AM NOW BELIEVING THAT THE DEALERSHIP KNEW ABOUT IT BUT DIDN'T WANT TO ADMIT IT AND PRETENDED THAT IT WAS AN ABNORMAL EVENT. CAN'T TRUST THE DEALERS CONSUMER NEEDS TO STAND UP AND NOT GET SCREWED BY CAR MANUFACTURERS. $1100 IS A LOT OF MONEY TO SPEND JUST TO CHANGE THE BULBS BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE NOT MADE TO LAST OR MELT AWAY THE LENS. THIS IS NOT A MAINTENANCE ISSUE BUT A SAFETY ISSUE AND CONSUMER SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE BULB WITHOUT CHANGING THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY FOR MAINTENANCE REPAIR. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER, THEY CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE MY CAR WAS OVER THE WARRANTY. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN NOR DOES NISSAN CARE. I THINK THE BEST THING IS TO SUE THEM IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT. IN THE MEANTIME I'M DRIVING MY CAR WITH DIM LIGHTS.
2 WEEKS BACK I WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY CAR SLOWED DOWN. THE RPM WAS VERY HIGH BUT THE SPEED WAS AROUND 20MPH. LOOKED LIKE TRANSMISSION STUCK AT LOWER GEAR. LAST WEEK I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 100FT OF UPHILL AND IT COULD NOT TOW. ONLY ONE PERSON AND LOST POWER IN GAS. NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESSED THE GAS, THE RPM WAS LOW AND COULD NOT PULL CAR UPHILL. YESTERDAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TODAY MY DEALER SAYS THERE IS PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION. SOMETHING INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. RECENTLY LESS THAN YEAR AGO, THEY REPLACED FEW THINGS WHICH WAS UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. NOW I HAVE 63K AND OUT OF WARRANTY. THE TOTAL COST IS ABOUT $1300.00. HOW CAN SUCH A REPUTED BRAND CAR HAVE SO MANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITHIN A YEAR? THIS IS MY FIRST AND LAST NISSAN.
I WAS TURNING RIGHT TO PARK MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR TO STOP AND THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND JUMPED OVER THE CONCRETE CURB STOP. IT CONTINUED TO RUN UPSLOPE TO THE BUSHES AND OVER THREE BIG ROCKS WHILE I WAS TRYING TO AVOID HITTING THE FENCE IN THE FRONT AND BRAKING IT. I CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO DRIVE FORWARD AND I KEPT TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID A FENCE. THE CAR RAN OVER THE CURB STOP OF ANOTHER PARKING SPACE ABOUT FIVE SPACES ON THE RIGHT. THE BOLT IN THE CONCRETE STOP PUNCTURED MY OIL PAN AND THE ROCKS RIBBED OFF THE PLASTIC SHIELDS UNDERNEATH. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY PUMPING THE BRAKE AND WIND UP IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I CHECKED MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE. MY CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 43000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS HAPPENED AT THE PARKING LOT OF BERTELSON MEMORIAL PARK IN EL DORADO HILLS IN CALIFORNIA. WE BELIEVED THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER FAILURE THAT CAUSED THE ACCELERATION OF THE CAR WHILE I WAS TURNING RIGHT AND BRAKING AND TRIED TO PARK. ACCORDING TO ONE OF THE EXPERT, AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER WHO HAS STUDIED SUDDEN ACCELERATION IN CARS FOR OVER 20 YEARS, STATED THAT "IF YOU'RE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE, YOU HAVE A LOT OF STRESS ON THE FRONT DRIVE SYSTEM, SINCE EVERYTHING IS BASED ON RUNNING THROUGH THE COMPUTER, INCLUDING SENSORS ON YOUR DRIVE SYSTEMS, ANY ONE OF THOSE COULD CARRY ONTO THE SYSTEM, CARRY ON TO THE ON-BOARD COMPUTER AND ATTACK IT." WE FELT VERY UNFAIR TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS FOR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.
MY "VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED TO REPROGRAM FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU). " I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL TO HAVE IT TAKEN CARE OF, BUT NOW I'M STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH THE OCS. CURRENTLY, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, INDICATING THAT IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS LIT UP. THIS INDICATED THAT THE AIRBAG WAS OFF, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I WAS SITTING IN IT. AFTER TAKING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THAT I NEEDED A NEW OCS CONTROL UNIT AS WELL AS TWO OCS SENSORS. I INFORMED THEM OF THE PREVIOUS RECALL ON THE OCS; HOWEVER, THEY SAID THIS WAS A SEPARATE ISSUE, SO I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PAY AROUND $700. NISSAN ORIGINALLY SAID IN A LETTER THAT, "IF AT ANY TIME WITHIN THE NEXT 15 YEARS, THE OCS SYSTEM IN YOUR VEHICLE DOES NOT PERFORM AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, WE URGE YOU TO PLEASE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AT YOUR NEAREST NISSAN DEALER. THE DEALER CAN CHECK THE OCS SYSTEM IN YOUR VEHICLE AND, IF NEEDED, PERFORM A ONE-TIME RETROFIT TO THE OCS SYSTEM FREE OF CHARGE. " SINCE THE OCS IS STILL HAVING ISSUES AFTER THE ORIGINAL RECALL, I THOUGHT IT WAS IMPERATIVE TO REPORT THIS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIRBAGS MIGHT NOT DEPLOY IF I WERE IN A CAR ACCIDENT, WHICH COULD CAUSE UNNECESSARY INJURIES OR EVEN DEATH. CLEARLY THERE ARE STILL UNRESOLVED ISSUES WITH THE OCS THAT NEED ATTENTION.
MY LOW BEAMS HAVE BEEN VERY DIM TO THE POINT WHERE I USE MY HIGH BEAMS TO SEE AT NIGHT. I RECENTLY REPLACED THE BULBS WITH BRAND NEW ONES THINKING THAT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. THEY STILL SHOW VERY DIM. WHEN I HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE, THEY ASK IF MY HEADLIGHTS ARE EVEN ON. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH ALMOST NO VISIBILITY AT NIGHT OR IN THE RAIN.
ENGINE HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS EVERY SCENE IT WAS PURCHASE.
AROUND 7 MONTHS AGO MY CAR WAS JERKING AND STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY, IT WAS TOW TO THE DEALER AND THEY JUST "RESET THE CAR". TODAY HAPPENED AGAIN, THE CAR START BUT STOPS WHEN CHANGING THE GEAR TO DRIVE OR REVERSE MODE SAME SITUATION AS THE LAST TIME.
BOTH MY DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE WITHIN WEEKS OF EACH OTHER FAIL TO OPEN DOORS. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ALTIMA AND DUE TO A CHEAP PLASTIC PART THAT BREAKS WHICH HOLDS STEEL WIRE TO ENGAGE HANDLE MECHANISM. THIS IS A DANGER AND CAN CAUSE LIFE THREATENING PROBLEMS BECAUSE THE ONLY WAY TO GET OUT IS TO CRAWL TO BACK DOORS OR USE POWER WINDOWS TO LOWER WINDOWS AND REACH ARM OUTSIDE WINDOW AND OPEN VIA ECTERIOR HANDLE. IF THERE WAS A FIRE OR CRASH OR END UP IN WATER THERE WOULD BE LITTLE CHANCE TO EXCAPE IF POWER WENT OUT OF INJURY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, I WAS QUOTED $185 DOLLARS PER DOOR HANDLE FOR A THE FAULT OF NISSAN QUALITY PARTS.
MY CAR HAS 53,000 MILES ON IT AND BEING A SINGLE MOM OF 3 I CAN'T AFFORD TO PUT NEW TRANSMISSION IN IT. I STILL HAVE PAYMENTS ON THE CAR. DOES THIS CAR HAVE A CVT WARRANTY?
IN 2017 NISSAN HAS ME COME IN FOR A CVT TRANSMISSION UPGRADE. AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE AT THE NISSAN OF COOL SPRINGS AND I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP I NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH, SHAKING, AND JOLTING WHEN I ACCELERATED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED DEALERSHIP AND ASKED TO HAVE A TECH DRIVE THE CAR TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM. THE TECH GOT IN, RODE OFF, CAME BACK AND SAID IT WAS ALL RUNNING FINE. I ACCEPTED THAT AND ASSUMED IT WAS ONLY A MOMENTARY PROBLEM. I GOT BACK IN MY CAR AND IT WAS STILL DOING IT. I CAME BACK AND ASKED THE TECH TO RIDE WITH ME. IT DID IT WITH HIM IN THE CAR AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD TO "ADAPT TO MY DRIVING STYLE." 2018, AT 48,000 MILES THE CAR STARTED TO STALL ON ME WHEN IT WAS IDLE. IT WOULD START RIGHT BACK UP, BUT TURN OFF WHEN I PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE NISSAN OF COOL SPRINGS DEALERSHIP BUT THEY DID NOT FIND ANY ERROR CODE AND TOLD ME EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE AND CHARGED ME AROUND $160. I ALSO TOLD THEM THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH IN THE PAST 2-3 TIME. BUT AT THAT TIME I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE CVT ISSUES. RECENTLY IT HAPPENED WHEN I STOPPED FOR REFUELLING MY CAR. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT IT DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAYS.
WHILE TRAVELLING ON A LOCAL ARTERY ROAD (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT), THE CAR EXPERIENCED RAPID JERKING OR SHUDDERING (FORWARD AND BACKWARD MOTION) DURING GEAR CHANGES. AT THE NEXT STOP LIGHT, THE CAR STALLED SO I SHIFTED THE GEAR SHIFT FROM DRIVE INTO PARK AND RE-STARTED THE CAR. AS SOON AS I SHIFTED THE GEAR SHIFT FROM PARK INTO DRIVE, THE CAR IMMEDIATELY STALLED AGAIN. SO I SHIFTED BACK INTO PARK AND RE-STARTED THE CAR AGAIN. THEN THE CAR STALLED AGAIN AS SOON AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. SO I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND RE-STARTED THE CAR AGAIN. THEN I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO DRIVE FROM NEUTRAL. AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN, I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THEY (THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP) SEEM UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE SO NO REPAIRS ARE RECOMMENDED. UPON INVESTIGATING THIS FURTHER (INTERNET SEARCHES), THERE APPEARS TO BE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THESE SAME SYMPTOMS ON CARS WITH JATCO CVT TRANSMISSIONS. NISSAN REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUES BECAUSE THEIR COMPUTERS AND OR DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS FAIL TO IDENTIFY ANY ERROR CODES, WHICH SUGGEST THAT NISSAN MAY HAVE TAMPERED WITH THEIR DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO AVOID RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE ISSUES. I SAY THIS BECAUSE NISSAN HAS YEARS OF DOCUMENTED CVT DEFECTS IN THEIR RECENT PAST. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS AS CONSUMERS ARE LEFT WITH UNSAFE VEHICLES THAT ARE SIMPLY BEING TRADED IN AND RESOLD TO OTHER UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS, ALL BECAUSE NISSAN IS GETTING AWAY WITH NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS.
THE VEHICLE WAS ON A HIGHWAY AND SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAR DID NOW ALLOW ME TO PULL OVER, JUST STOPPED. I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND ROLLED IT TO THE SIDE. I FINALLY GOT IT STARTED, AND IT STALLED OUT AND I COULD NOT MOVE THE CAR THREE MORE TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ON THE CITY STREETS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
I AM REPORTING A DANGEROUS CONDITION WITH 2013 NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION. WITH NO WARNING INDICATOR THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 - 70 MPH.WHILE DRIVING IN MODERATE TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE REVVED TO 6000 RPM AND THE CAR WAS MOVING AT 20 MPH I WAS ABLE TO COAST THROUGH TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER AND TURN OFF THE CAR AND START AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO AGAIN PROCEED. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER PARKING OVERNIGHT, IT WOULD NO LONGER MOVE IN FORWARD OR REVERSE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAILED TRANSMISSION THAT WILL COST APPROX. $3700 TO REPLACE. I FILED A CASE WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE TO APPEAL TO THEM DUE TO THE RELATIVELY LOW MILES FOR SUCH A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. WE LEARNED TODAY THAT THEY ARE PROVIDING NO COVERAGE FOR US DUE TO THE CAR BEING OUT OF WARRANTY.
HID HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM, IT'S UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NO WAY THIS CAN PASS LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS.
WHEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY I BEGAN TO GAIN SPEED TO MERGE FROM THE RAMP AND AS I DID SO, I NOTICED I HAD MINIMAL CONTROL OF THE CAR. THERE WAS A LOT OF ON COMING CARS THAT HAD TO BRAKE ABRUPTLY AS TO NOT REAR END MY CAR. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF FREEWAY TO CHECK AND NOTICED THE BACK DRIVER TIRE LOOKED TO BE NO LONGER ATTACHED. AFTER GETTING MY NISSAN BACK TO THE TOWN I LIVE IN AND TO A REPAIR SHOP THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A BREAK IN MY CONTROL ARM AND THAT IT APPERED IT HAD "RUSTED OFF" THEY SHOWED ME THE OTHER SIDE OF VEHICLE AND IT WAS ALSO ABOUT TO SNAP DUE TO BEING RUSTED.
MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS EVERYONE ELSE'S. THE EXTERIOR HEADLAMPS ARE DIM TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. LIGHT BULBS WERE CHANGED OUT TO NO AVAIL. DEALERSHIP WANTS ALMOST $1,200 TO REPAIR AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS INSULTING THROUGH 1 800 NISSAN 1. THEY INSIST I GO PAY TO HAVE A NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE OUT OF MY OWN POCKET, COME BACK TO THEM AND REQUEST A CORRECTION OR ASSISTANCE WITH CORRECTING THE ISSUE. PRETTY MUCH TOLD ME IT WASN'T GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. CAR CURRENTLY HAS 77000 MILES ON IT . HUGE SAFETY ISSUE... A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS BEING RESEARCHED AND I WILL DEFINITELY BE PART OF IT.
MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 IS SUFFERING FROM A SEVERE DEFECT WHEN IT COMES TO THE CARS LOW BEAMS. THE LOW BEAMS HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE PROJECTORS IN THE HEADSET, IT'S NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE LIGHT BULBS. THIS MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT DANGEROUS AND NISSAN IS NOT TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS DESIGN ISSUE SINCE THIS IS NOT A LIGHT BULB BURNING OUT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN FOR THE HEADLAMPS THEMSELVES. I CAN BARELY SEE THE LINES ON THE ROAD.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM ON MY 2013 ALTIMA. I CANNOT SEE DURING NIGHT HOURS. IT IS DANGEROUS TO MYSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I HAVE TRIED TO SWITCH HEADLIGHT BULBS AND NOTHING WORKS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD! I AM IN DALLAS, TX.
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE PROGRESSIVELY BECOME MORE AND MORE DIM. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT TO THE PROBLEM. IT HAS BECOME DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT UNLESS I USE MY BRIGHTS. MY MECHANIC SAID THE MATERIAL IN THE PROJECTOR HAS WORN DOWN AND THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLIES WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS CLEARLY A WIDESPREAD MANUFACTURING FLAW AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

IT IS SAID THAT THE PROJECTORS HAVE BEEN BURNING OUT CAUSING DIM LIGHTS NO TO WORK AND THE COST TO FIX IS GREATER THAN 1200. WITH NISSAN.

THEY CHARGED BY $200TO CHECK THE LIGHTS, WIRING ECT. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THE LIGHTS WERE DEFINITELY NOT OPERATING AS THEY SHOULD BUT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING IN THE INITIAL SEARCH AND I WOULD NEED TO BRING THE CAR BACK AND LEAVE IF FOR THEM TO FURTHER INVESTIGATE WHICH I COULD NOT AFFORD. I COMMUTE 100 MILES A DAY TO AND FROM WORK IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD AFTER SUNSET WITH MY LOW BEAMS. I WILL NOT EVEN DRIVE THE VEHICLE 3 BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE TO THE CORNER STORE THE LOW BEAMS HAVE GOTTEN SO BAD. AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A OIL CHANGE THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY LOWER CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST 2013 AND NEWER NISSAN ALTIMAS. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF 2013 AND NEWER NISSAN ALTIMAS ON THE ROAD AND A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST THESE VEHICLES IS THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS. THESE PARTS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE STEERING AND SUSPENSION ON FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES AND THESE PARTS SHOULD NOT FAIL ON FIVE YEAR OR YOUNGER ROAD VEHICLES. THE FAILURE OF THESE PARTS ON SURFACE STREETS CAN BE POTENTIALLY DEADLY AND ON HIGHWAYS MORE LIKELY TO CAUSE HORRIFIC CASUALTIES DUE TO THE VEHICLES BEING UNCONTROLLABLE DURING A FAILURE. BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN DETERIORATING SINCE THE AUTO WAS PURCHASED. THE ILLUMINATION DECREASED,IT CREATED AN UNSAFE DRIVING SITUATION FOR THE OWNER,DRIVER,PSNGRS,OTHER DRVRS,OTHER PSSNGRS & PEDESTRIANS WITH A HIGH LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY,DEATH &/OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. I HAVE HIT POTHOLES,CROSSED LANES INTO OPPOSING TRAFFIC & HAVE BEEN FORCED TO USE HIGH BMS WHEN POTENTIALLY UNSAFE FOR OTHER DRVRS. I BELIEVE THE DETERIORATION IS DUE TO A DESIGN DEFECT WHERE THE INSIDE OF THE PROJECTOR LENS MELTS OR OTHERWISE FAILS & THE LENS BECOMES PROGRESSIVELY OPAQUE. THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION. IN FEBRUARY 2018, WHILE MY CAR WAS IN IDLE MODE, MY CAR SHUDDERED AND STALLED. WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK, SHUT THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTED IT, THE CAR TURNED BACK ON. HOWEVER, WHEN I SHIFTED BACK IN "DRIVE" THE CAR WOULD SHUDDER AND STALL. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, THE CAR FINALLY WORKED. LATER THAT DAY, WHILE AT A STOP SIGN THE CAR SHUDDERED AND STALLED. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC. NOTHING SHOWED UP. MY LOCAL MECHANICS REPLACED A SENSOR BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEM. FAST FORWARD TO AUGUST 2018. MY CAR WHILE DRIVING SLOW BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND THEN STALL OUT. I BROUGHT IT TO NISSAN. THIS TIME THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST SAID I NEED A VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT. THAT COSTED ME $1100. 2 WEEKS LATER. I WAS DRIVING AND WHEN I STARTED TO SLOW DOWN MY CAR SHUDDERED THEN STALLED. I RESTARTED IT FORTUNATELY AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO NISSAN. THEY DID ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC. THIS TIME THEY SAID THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE DONE MUCH RESEARCH ON THIS. MANY PEOPLE HAD THIS PROBLEM. MY CAR IS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 65K MILES ON IT. THERE IS NO REASON WHY THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING. NISSAN KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM, YET THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.

ENDED UP MOVING SLOWLY TO THE SIDE. GOT THE CAR TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER THAT ADVISED THAT IT A CVT FAILURE. MY CAR HAS 83K MILES, NISSAN IS NOT WILLING TO HELP.

THE DESIGN IS FLAWED AND MAKES THE OWNER HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE AT NIGHT AGAIN. THE LIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT DOES NOT EVEN LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME SO DIM, THEY ARE UNUSABLE. AT NIGHT, THE LOW BEAMS DO NOT ILLUMINATE MORE THAN 10-15 FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR WHILE MOVING, FORCING YOU TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS TO HAVE ANY VISIBILITY, WHICH IS DANGEROUS TO ONCOMING CARS. LOW BEAMS DO NOT ILLUMINATE STREET SIGNS OR SIDE LINES OF ROADS. ANY RAIN MAKES IT EVEN WORSE. SEARCHING FOR A SOLUTION HAS REVEALED THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NO SOLUTION FROM NISSAN.

THIS HAPPENED FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS UNTIL IT WOULDN'T MOVE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, SO TOWED HOME THEN TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF A RECALL ON A TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE ONLY TO FIND OUT FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THEY COULD NOT UPDATE THE CONTROL MODULE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND SAID WE NEEDED A CVT AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY TRANSMISSION. WE BOUGHT IT USED IN 2016 AND NOW IT ONLY HAS 74,000 MILES ON IT. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF IT UNTIL LAST YEAR 2018. NOW WHEN WE PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE IT WILL NOT MOVE.

CAR SAT FOR A WEEK AND THEN STARTED RIGHT UP AND DROVE FINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED OFF. CAR STARTED STALLING AGAIN ONLY WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE, AND AS LONG AS I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND GAVE IT GAS, THEN THREW IT INTO DRIVE I WOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT. STILL NO LIGHT ON. CAR DROVE SEMI GOOD FOR A WEEK OR SO, SEEMED TO RUN A LITTLE ROUGH BUT DIDN'T STALL OUT. A FEW DAYS AGO IT STARTED TO NOT TAKE GAS AND REV UP ON ITS OWN. I WOULD START TO GO AND THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE BY ITSELF. WHEN I WAS ON HIGHWAY, OR REGULAR ROADS. USUALLY UNDER 50 MILES AN HOUR. TACHOMETER WOULD REV EVEN THOUGH CAR DIDN'T SEEM TO GO ANY FASTER. THEN IT JUST STOPPED TAKING GAS ALL TOGETHER. NOW TODAY IT JUST STOPPED GOING. I WOULD GIVE IT GAS AND IT WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE. I SHUT OFF AND TURNED ON AND IT WOULD GO FOR A LITTLE AND THEN STOP. NOW CHECK ENGINE LITE CAME ON AND THE FIRST CODE P0776 IS FOR A BULLETIN THAT WENT OUT AND THE THE OTHER CODE IS FOR P0965. PICTURES ARE ATTACHED. I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR, WORRIED THAT I WILL GET INTO A CRASH. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND SAW THAT A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE MILEAGE IS AT 77,000. THE MAJORITY OF THE OTHER PEOPLE I READ HAD AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE. IS THIS A PROBLEM THAT NISSAN SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF?
