TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN LOCAL TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 5 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO AVOID A CRASH BY COASTING ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BROWN'S FAIRFAX NISSAN (11010 FAIRFAX BOULEVARD, FAIRFAX, VA 22030, (703)-591-8009) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME SO DIM THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD ANY BETTER THAN THE PARKING LIGHTS. NEW BULBS DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. NISSAN CLAIMS THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE FILM COATING OF THE PROJECTORS, BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE VEHICLE. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL NISSAN VIRGINIA BEACH (3757 BONNEY RD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452, (877) 430-1752), BUT NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT NO RECALLS WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,462.
HEAD LIGHTS SET A LOW ARE EXTREMELY DIM.
IN A MATTER OF 13 MONTHS, THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILED AND THEN LATER THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILED. THE METAL CRACKED AND COMPLETELY CAME APART WHERE IT IS BOLTED TO THE CAR. BOTH TIMES IT FAILED IN MY DRIVEWAY. ONE TIME IT FAILED WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, THE OTHER TIME IT FAILED WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT OF THE GARAGE. THE CAR COULD NOT BE DRIVEN AFTER THEY FAILED. A LETTER IS GOING IN THE MAIL THIS WEEK TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND I AM MAILING A COPY TO THE NHTSA IN WASHINGTON, DC. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH THE CLOSED SUNROOF EXPLODED. THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND AND THE VISOR WAS CLOSED SO I WAS UNINJURED BY THE SHATTERED GLASS. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A RECALL REPAIR APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH COLUMBUS NISSAN INC (100 MS-12, COLUMBUS, MS 39702, (662) 328-6691); HOWEVER, UPON ARRIVAL, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
1. BREAK SWITCH NEEDED REPLACING AND NOW THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING AGAIN AS FAR OCCASIONALLY LOSES POWER CAUSING SOME POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUES IN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. 2. BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES DO NOT OPEN DOOR WHICH IS A MAJOR ISSUE AS THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN DOORS IS TO ROLL WINDOW DOWN. IN AN EMERGENCY THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS THREAT TO SAFETY IF WINDOWS CAN NOT BE ROLLED DOWN.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE VERY DIM. THEY ARE INEFFECTIVE IN LIGHTING THE ROAD. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IS JUST THE WAY THEY ARE AND TO "JUST USE MY HIGHBEAMS" . THIS DOES NOT SEEM LIKE AN EFFECTIVE SOLUTION. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS THE CASE ANY TIME THE LIGHTS ARE PUT ON.
CAR STALLED IN TRAFFIC WHILE STOPPED AT LIGHT. CUTS OFF WHEN PUT IN ANY GEAR. UN DRIVEABLE. CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACEMENT. ONLY 69,000MILES. SIMILAR COMPLAINTS REPORTED FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL
AT APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES THE HEADLIGHT LOW BEAMS STARTED TO BECOME DIM. THIS CONDITION WORSENED UNTIL 60,000 MILES. I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING AT NIGHT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD I COULD REPLACE THE BULBS ($425)OR THE ENTIRE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY ($1120). BASED UPON REVIEWING VARIOUS WEBSITES, I REALIZED THIS PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED BY OTHERS AND THAT THE ENTIRE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED. I CALLED NISSAN'S CUSTOMER SERVICE GROUP IN TN. THEY AGREED TO SPLIT THE COST 50/50 WITH ME FOR THE ASSEMBLY.
RELIABLE NISSAN IN ALBUQUERQUE PERFORMED THE NTB16-052 REQUAL AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER REPAIR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. TOLD THIS TO MECHANIC AND WAS CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR WHEN PICKING UP THE CAR. THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ALWAYS WORKED. MECHANIC STATED THAT CAUSE OF AIRBAG WAS DUE TO A LOW BATTERY AND A ZERO POINT RESET HAD TO BE PERFORMED FOR THE FIX. HE STATED ANYTIME ON A NISSAN CAR IF THE BATTERY VOLTAGE DROPPED BELOW 12V THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND HAVE TO BE TAKEN IN FOR A ZERO POINT RESET AND A CHARGE OF $149.49. THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS. - FIRST IS THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ON MY WIFE'S CAR ALWAYS WORKED AND AFTER THE RECALL IT DID NOT. REQUAL WAS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG FIX BUT AFFECTED THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT TO COME ON. - SECOND ISSUE WAS THE CAR BATTERY WAS REPLACED WITHOUT BEING CONTACT FOR REPLACEMENT. THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE CAR BATTERY AS THE CAR DID NOT HAVE ISSUES STARTING. ASKED THEM TO PUT THE ORIGINAL CAR BATTERY BACK IN WHICH THEY DID AND CAR STARTED OK. HE SAID IT WAS MARGINAL. CHECKED THE BATTERY WITH MY CODE READER AND BATTERY WAS 12 VOLTS. CAR HAS BEEN STARTING OKAY FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THE LAST ISSUE WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IS NISSAN STATING IF A BATTERY ON A NISSAN DROPS BELOW 12 VOLTS AND AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND MAY NOT WORK. IF THIS IS THE CASE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS THERE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE BATTERIES THAT GO LOW OR NEED A CHARGE AS IT IS A CONSUMABLE PART. A CUSTOMER WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE FIX AND WORSE OF ALL THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK UNTIL TAKEN TO THE SHOP. REALLY. I HAVE OWNED A CHEVROLET AND NOW TWO FORDS AND A NISSAN. ONLY NISSAN HAS THIS ISSUE? IF A CAR BATTERY IS GOOD ENOUGH TO START A CAR BUT IS BELOW 12 VOLTS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK EVEN WITH THE ALTERNATOR CHARGING THE BATTERY. THIS IS WHAT SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS AT NISSAN ARE TELLING ME. MY NISSAN ALTIMA WAS IN PARK IT STARTED UP HOWEVER I COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK THIS IS A 2013 THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE AFTER READING THE MANY COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THE SHIFTER AND CVT THIS CAR NEEDS AN IMMEDIATE RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. EACH TIME THE CAR WAS STUCK IN PARK THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND STATIONARY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE SHIFTER AND SAID THE WHOLE SHIFTER NEEDS REPLACING AFTER VIEWING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS A RECALL MUST BE ISSUED BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. I CAN PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION IF NEEDED THE REPAIR WAS 768.00 THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN 2012-CURRENT. *JS
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH ONLY 52K MILES I FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY; FIRST IT STALLED, SHAKY WHEN I ACCELERATE SLIGHTLY IT WAS FINE. WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE TO PARK MODE; EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING STALKED&SHAKE IF I STOPPED AT A LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR CHANGE SPEED I EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM THIS WILL HAPPEN IN BUSY TRAFFIC, HIGHWAYS IN FACT MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER (1ST TIME DRIVEN HERSELF HOME FROM WORK) EXPERIENCE IT, AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION SHE COULDN'T GET THE CAR GOING. WE HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF FOR ABOUT 15-30MINUTES AND PRESSED/ PULSED THE GAS TO FINALLY GET IT TO MOVE... THIS ALL HAPPENED FOR 3 DAYS AND I TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP (PAYED $140 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM) MECHANIC SAID JUST FROM DRIVING THE CAR INTO THE SHOP, 9/10 IT MAY BE THE TRANSMISSION. TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM THEY WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE COVER BODY ($546) AND IF IT'S THE TRANSMISSION, REPAIRS WILL COST $4600!!!! EVEN THOUGH MILEAGE IS WITHIN THE WARRANTY RANGE OF <60K IT'S NOT COVERED BECAUSE THEY CLAIMED THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS SALVAGED. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT WILL IMPACT IT GIVEN THE CAR HAD ONLY 13K WHEN I PURCHASED IT. IT SEEM THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM REPORTED BY MANY WITH THIS PARTICULAR CAR. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, COMPLAINS DATING BACK TO IDENTICAL TO ISSUES WITH 2008-2011 MODELS, MULTIPLE RECALLS... THIS SORT OF PROBLEMS COULD COURSE ACCIDENTS AND LOSS IF LIFE. THESE ARE HUMAN PROBLEMS...I BELIEVE NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND TO MUCH HIGHER STANDARDS IN THIS SPACE- VEHICLE MANUFACTURING, DEALERSHIP, PARTS, SALES, REPAIRS ETC. IF NOTHING IS DONE TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A NISSAN!!!
THE CAR IS SAYING I'M GETTING 7 MPG AND IT WILL NOT UPDATE ON THE MILEAGE AFTER I PUT GAS IN AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ONCE HEADLIGHTS ARE REQUIRED. UNLESS YOU ARE USING THE HIGH BEAMS, YOU CANNOT SEE MORE THAN A FEW FEET AHEAD OF YOU. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED TO BE PASSED TO MY DAUGHTER AS GET FIRST CAR. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD ALLOW MY CHILD TO BE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THIS VEHICLE. I WOULDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD DRIVING THUS CAR, WHEN I DO NOT FEEL SAFE.
LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT THERE IS NEAR NO NIGHT TIME VISIBILITY, I AM HAVING TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON AND THAT IS CAUSING SAFETY CONCERNS FOR ONCOMING DRIVERS.
VEHICLES LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. IT IS SO SEVERE THAT IT IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS AFTER DARK. I INSTALLED NEW LOW BEAM BULBS IN THE CAR AND THIS CORRECTIVE ACTION PROVES WORTHLESS. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, THE BULBS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM AT ALL. THE MATERIAL INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT UNIT HAS DETERIORATED RENDERING THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS USELESS. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, FOLKS EVERYWHERE WITH THESE SAME HEADLIGHTS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED AND PRICED A WHOLE NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND EACH UNIT WAS 350 DOLLARS. THAT IS 700 DOLLARS PLUS JUST FOR THE HEADLIGHT SET AND THAT AMOUNT DOESN'T INCLUDE LABOR COST. THE NEW HEADLIGHT ARE THE SAME ONES THAT ARE ALREADY ON THE VEHICLE AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS VEHICLE OPERATED AT NIGHT ON LOW BEAMS IS A SERIOUS TRANSPORTATION SAFETY HAZARD AS I AM UNABLE TO SEE A SAFE DISTANCE AHEAD.
TAKATA RECALL I RECENTLY WENT TO TRY AND GET AN OIL CHANGE AT MY REGULAR PLACE THAT I USUALLY GO TO RECEIVE ONE AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO OPEN MY HOOD BECAUSE SOMEHOW THE LATCH ON THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WOULD NOT WORK WHEN YOU PULL IT SO THAT CAUSED MY HOOD TO BE JAMMED AND I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN IT.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN OPEN HIGHWAY, THE SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED AND FELL INTO THE CAR. AT THE SAME TIME (RELATED SOMEHOW?) THE BACK WINDSHIELD SHATTERED, BUT REMAINED INTACT (AT LEAST FOR A WHILE, IT LATER COMPLETELY COLLAPSED). I HAD NOT DRIVEN UNDER ANY OVERPASSES AND THERE WERE NO VEHICLES CLOSE ENOUGH TO HAVE THROWN A ROCK.
MY "VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED TO REPROGRAM FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)." I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL TO HAVE IT TAKEN CARE OF, BUT NOW I'M STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH THE OCS. CURRENTLY, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, INDICATING THAT IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS LIT UP. THIS INDICATED THAT THE AIRBAG WAS OFF, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I WAS SITTING IN IT. AFTER TAKING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CODE B00AQ00 SHOWED THAT I NEEDED A NEW OCS CONTROL UNIT AS WELL AS TWO OCS SENSORS. I INFORMED THEM OF THE PREVIOUS RECALL ON THE OCS; HOWEVER, THEY SAID THIS WAS A SEPARATE ISSUE, SO I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PAY $539.88. NISSAN ORIGINALLY SAID IN A LETTER THAT, "IF AT ANY TIME WITHIN THE NEXT 15 YEARS, THE OCS SYSTEM IN YOUR VEHICLE DOES NOT PERFORM AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, WE URGE YOU TO PLEASE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AT YOUR NEAREST NISSAN DEALER. THE DEALER CAN CHECK THE OCS SYSTEM IN YOUR VEHICLE AND, IF NEEDED, PERFORM A ONE-TIME RETROFIT TO THE OCS SYSTEM FREE OF CHARGE." SINCE THE OCS IS STILL HAVING ISSUES AFTER THE ORIGINAL RECALL, I THOUGHT IT WAS IMPERATIVE TO REPORT THIS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIRBAGS MIGHT NOT DEPLOY IF I WERE IN A CAR ACCIDENT, WHICH COULD CAUSE UNNECESSARY INJURIES OR EVEN DEATH. CLEARLY THERE ARE STILL UNRESOLVED ISSUES WITH THE OCS THAT NEED ATTENTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (NISSAN OF GARDEN CITY, 316 N FRANKLIN ST, HAMPSTEAD, NY 11550) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS. THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE AND FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND AUTHORIZATION WAS NEEDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
WATER LEAKS INTO MY DRIVER AND REAR FLOOR BOARDS WHEN IT RAINS. I MEAN IT HAS SO MUCH WATER I HAVE TO USE MY SHOP VAC TO SUCK IT OUT THEN TAKE TOWELS TO THE FLOORS. CAR SMELLS LIKE MILDEW AND MOLD. THE DRIVER FLOORBOARD IS RUSTED AND FEELS SHAKY AND WEAK FROM ALL THE YEARS OF WATER SOMEHOW LEAKING IN WHEN IT RAINS!? I DID RESEARCH AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH CARS LIKE MINE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAME THING .
I HAVE HAD THREE DOORS THAT ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND IT SEEMS IT CAN BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE IF INVOLVED IN CRASH BECAUSE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE. IT APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE DUE TO NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE SURROUNDING EXACT SAME ISSUE PLEASE HELP WHAT FOOD IS IT TO GET IT FIX ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPENE AGAIN BECAUSE OF PARTS USED BY MANUFACTURERS.
WHEN ENGAGING THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR THE ENGINE DIES. SERVICE TECH AT LOCAL NISSAN DEALER CONFIRMS TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION. VEHICLE HAS 65,000 MILES. NISSAN HAS HAD ISSUES WITH SIMILAR TRANSMISSIONS IN THE PAST AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 120,000 TO ASSIST OTHER CONSUMERS. DUE TO MY TRANSMISSION BEING A "GENERATION 2" IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. ALTHOUGH, OBVIOUSLY, "GENERATION 2" HAS MALFUNCTIONS AS DID "GENERATION 1".
THE GEAR SHIFTER WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK INTO ANY OTHER GEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS FRACTURED AND COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED JACKIE COOPER NISSAN AT 918-302-1766 (9898 S MEMORIAL DR, TULSA, OK 74133) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL, AND TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000. *JS
I OWN A NISSAN ALTIMA 2013, AND SADLY I'VE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE THAN ANY OTHER I EVER OWNED. THE ENGINE STALLS WHEN IN NOTION AND STATIONERY. SOMETIMES IT TAKES MULTIPLE TRIES TO EVEN GET IT STARTED. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ON THE BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG SENSORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE HOOD LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. AND THE BACK BRAKES HAVE BEEN CHANGED THREE TIMES AND IT S STILL HAS A AWFUL LENGTHY SQUEAK WHICH IS VERY EMBARRASSING. SO SAY THE LEAST THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING CONSIDERING I'M STILL PAYING OVER THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A CAR NOT AND STILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SUPPOSEDLY DOES NOT COVER. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PURCHASE. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED OVER TIME AND I'M STILL HAVING ISSUES TO THIS DAY.
"TAKATA RECALL" VEHICLE HAS A AIRBAG AND LATCH PROBLEM
THE CVT TRANSMISSION. WHILE DRIVING IN A SNOW STORM THE CAR STALLED IN A TURN ALMOST CAUSING A SERIOUS FATALITY ON MY PART
DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. OVER THE PAST 1.5 + YEARS THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN PROGRESSIVELY BEEN GETTING DIMMER. IT IS TO THE POINT THAT DRIVING IS DANGEROUS AS IT IS DIFFICULTY TO SEE THE ROADWAY AND ONCOMING AREAS. I HAD THIS CHECKED AT DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE LENSES ARE DEGRADING. WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR FIX BY NISSAN. CHANGING BULBS WOULD NOT HELP. THEY QUOTED AN APPROXIMATE REPLACEMENT OF $1000.00 TO $1200.00 WITH ALL NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THIS WAS THE ONLY FIX AVAILABLE AS THE LENSES CANNOT BE REPLACED. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED.
DIMMERS ON HEADLIGHT IS EXTREMELY DIM. THIS IS WHILE VEHICLE IS IDLE OR IN MOTION. CAN NOT SEE ANYTHING AT NIGHT. BRIGHT LIGHTS MUST BE ON TO SEE AT NIGHT

HAVE NOTICED THAT MY DIM LIGHTS HAVE GOTTEN SO DIM IT IS HARD TO SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT. I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY SO TRAVELING AT NIGHT USING LOW BEAMS IS OUT OF THE QUESTION, I USE HIGH BEANS. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM AND BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL PROBLEM. I HAVE NOTICED THE RANGE OF REPAIR ESTIMATES GO ANYWHERE FROM $499 TO $1,600. SINCE ALL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE DIM LOW LIGHT PROBLEM SEEM TO BE IDENTICAL, IT SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURER'S PROBLEM. I HAVE BARELY 40,000 ON MY CAR AND HAVE LOVED IT, BUT THIS LOW BEAM PROBLEM IS BECOMING A NUISANCE AND A SAFETY FACTOR.

2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE LIGHTS ARE SO DIM IT IS DANGEROUS. NISSAN SAYS IT IS THEIR PART BUT THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO A RECALL BUT WANT CUSTOMERS TO PAY 1000 TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH SO MANY CARS. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH WILL SHOW HOW MANY PEOPLE MENTION THIS BEING A BIG DANGEROUS ISSUE. I HAVE REPORTED THIS FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND REFUSE TO PAY TO FIX THE DANGER THEY ARE CAUSING BY NOT HAVING THE RECALL. THIS IS CAUSING DRIVERS TO USE THEIR HIGH BEAMS BUT THOSE ARE DIM TOO DUE TO THE FAULTY COVERS NISSAN HAS ON THE HEADLIGHTS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT AFTER THE SUN GOES DOWN, IN THE RAIN, OR IN THE SNOW. CONSUMER SAFETY IS NOT CARED ABOUT.
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
WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE. "5TH GENERATION ALTIMA'S LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM" AND UNSAFE FOR DRIVING AT NIGHT. MINE HAVE BECOME WORSE OVER TIME TO THE POINT WHERE I NOW FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT. AS OTHERS HAVE STATED REPLACING THE BULB WITH A BRIGHTER VERSION DOES NOT HELP AS THE REFLECTIVE MATERIAL WITHIN THE PROJECTOR DETERIORATES TO THE POINT OF MAKING ANY BULB USELESS. THANKFULLY NO ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED YET, BUT IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE ROAD UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE AND HAVE SKIMMED OR NEARLY JUMPED MORE THAN A FEW CURBS MAKING RIGHT AND LEFT TURNS AT NIGHT.
THE VEHICLE IS HAVING PROBLEMS GOING INTO GEAR AND SHIFTING CORRECTLY. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BY ME IN 2018. I HAVE A CLEAN TITLE. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN. THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE THE VIN SHOWS THE VEHICLE WAS SALVAGED IN TWO OTHER STATES. NISSAN SAYS I MUST HAVE A CLEAR TITLE FROM THOSE STATES BEFORE THEY WILL REPAIR THE CAR. I WAS TOLD BY PEOPLE IN BOTH OF THE STATES THAT I CAN NOT GET ANOTHER TITLE WHILE I CURRENTLY HAVE A TITLE. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR SINCE PURCHASE AND AM STILL DRIVING IT. IT HAS UNDER 84,000 MILES WHICH IS WHAT THE LETTER STATES. I READ THAT NISSAN CAN NOT REFUSE TO FIX A SALVAGED VEHICLE IF IT IS BEING DRIVING. PLEASE HELP ME AND GET THEM TO HONOR THIS WARRANTY.

I CALLED AND IT WAS A HOLIDAY AND NOT OPENED. , FINALLY GOT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT HOME WITH TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND MOTOR DYING IN HEAVY BUMPER TO BUMPER HOLIDAY TRAFFIC. ON 01/02/2018 CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, WAS ADVISED TO TAKE VEHICLE TO NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP, AND THEY WOULD PAY $100.00 TOWARDS THE RECORD BILL. I PAID THIS WRECKER BILL OUT OF MY POCKET WITH RECEIPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED TO WALTER'S NISSAN 30 WALTER'S LANE PIKEVILLE, KY. 41501 ON 01/03/2018 WERE IT WAS EVAULATED AND DETERMINED TO BE COMPLETE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE, AND WOULD BE REPLACED. I HAVE THE NISSAN SECURITY PLUS GOLD PREFERRED VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT 60 MONTHS/75,000 MILES, SERVICE CONTRACT # 0 7236319. THIS CAR HAS 68,000 MILES ON IT, AND THE CONTRACT EXPIRED ON 01/04/2018. IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP ON 01/03/2018 AND DETERMINE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I CALLED WALTER'S NISSAN ON 01/05/218 AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD ORDERED A NEW CVT TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY. TODAY I WAS ADVISED BY WALTER'S NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY WAS IN A DISPUTE WITH NISSAN AMERICA REGIONAL SPECIALIST, DUE TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRING ON 01/04/2018, TODAY 01/08/2018 AND WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY OR A REQUEST FOR A RENTAL CAR. THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAS HAD MANY FAILURES SIMILIAR TO MINE, YET NISSAN AMERICA STILL MARKETS THIS VEHICLE

THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. CAR WILL NOT RELEASE FROM PARK UNLESS YOU PRESS ON THE BRAKE RELEASE BUTTON. THIS HAPPENED AS MY CAR REACHED 65K MILES. THIS COULD BE A HUGE ISSUE AND SAFETY IF SOMEONE WAS TO BE STRANDED OUT SOMEWHERE AND THEY ARE H ABLE TO LEAVE BECAUSE THERE CAR WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK. THIS PROBLEM IS AFFECTING A LOT OF VEHICLES COMING OUT OF NISSAN.
INSIDE DOOR HANDLE IS MADE OF PLASTIC. THIS CHEAP PLASTIC HOOK'S ON THE END OF THE CABLE THAT CAUSES THE DOOR LATCH TO OPEN THE DOOR. WHEN THIS HOOK BRAKES THE ENTIRE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED. THIS MUST BE AN ENGINEERED TO FAIL HANDLE THAT IS MADE TO BREAK QUIT EASILY. IF YOU LOOK ON EBAY, HUNDREDS HAVE BEEN SOLD. I CAN IMAGINE HOW MUCH EXTRA REVENUE AND HOW OFTEN DEALERS GET TO REPLACE THIS SIMPLE PIECE OF HARDWARE. THE PROBLEM IS EASILY SOLVED BY MAKING THE HOOK OUT OF METAL.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK, 99% OF THE TIME I CAN'T PUT THE GEAR SHIFT IN DRIVE. IF I WANT TO MOVE, I HAVE TO USE THE KEY DOWN IN THE GEAR LOCK BOX TO UNLOCK THE GEAR.
LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. ANY SPEED OVER 30 MPH IS OVERDRIVING THE LOW BEAMS. ALMOST HIT A DEER THAT WAS 300' IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE I DIDN'T SEE IT.

THE FRONT SUSPENSION IS VERY POOR. MY CAR FALL IN A LITTLE HOLE AND ONE OF THE FRONT WHEEL WAS BROKE, BECAUSE THE SUSPENSION WAS BAD JOB. WHEN I TURNING STAR THE ENGINE SOUNDS SOMETIMES VERY RARE.
"TAKATA RECALL" WASHED MY CAR ON THURSDAY EVENING PARKED IT IN GARAGE FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING I WAS ABLE TO PULL IT OUT OF GARAGE AND BACK IN HOURS LATER. ROUGHLY 6 HRS LATER WENT TO START IT AND NOTHING!!! WHEN I HOLD BRAKE DOWN AND PUSH BUTTON IT WILL TURN OVER BUT WONT SPARK. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING ONLINE AND SEEMS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS AFFECTED.
I AM REPORTING A DANGEROUS CONDITION WITH THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED ON MY CAR AT 75,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING 65 - 70 MPH ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE. THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY BASED ON MILES (NOT TIME) AND I WAS DENIED COVERAGE BY NISSAN DUE TO WARRANTY EXPIRATION AND BECAUSE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED. THE TRANSMISSION HAS STUTTERED SINCE PURCHASE BUT IT SEEMED TO BE A QUIRK OF THE CAR; HOWEVER, ON DEC. 5, 2017, IT BRIEFLY WOULD NOT MOVE IN REVERSE AS MY DAUGHTER (THE PRIMARY DRIVER) BEGAN A 4-HOUR DRIVE FROM ORLANDO TO MIAMI. IT ENGAGED AND SHE CONTINUED ON HER TRIP. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE, THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. SHE WAS ABLE TO COAST THROUGH TRAFFIC TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND IT STARTED AND MOVED AGAIN. IT WAS NIGHTTIME AND NOT SAFE FOR HER TO REMAIN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUED TO STOP SEVERAL TIMES DURING HER DRIVE AND SHE AGAIN PULLED OVER, STOPPED, THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. SHE MADE IT SAFELY TO MIAMI. THE NEXT MORNING, DEC. 6, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. ON DEC 10 THE CAR WAS TOWED BY AAA TO A NEARBY AUTO MECHANIC. ON DEC. 11 THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AND I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER BECAUSE OF THE NUMEROUS REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS, INCLUDING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MODELS UP TO YEAR 2010. ON DEC. 11 IT WAS TOWED TO NISSAN AND WE ESTABLISHED A CASE WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE. TODAY, DEC. 19 WE WERE INFORMED THAT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER ANY OF THE COST OF REPAIR. THE REPAIR ESTIMATE IS AT LEAST $3,700. THEY WILL REPLACE WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION, SO WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY IN THE FUTURE. WE STILL OWE ~$8,000 ON THE VEHICLE AND FEEL WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE REPAIR.
