THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THE CVT ABOUT A YEAR AGO. IT WAS JERKING FORWARD AND WE THOUGHT THIS REPAIR WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2017 , WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC , IT WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. KEPT GIVING IT GAS UNTIL IT MOVED AND WE WERE ABLE TO TURN OFF THE STREET. HAD IT CHECKED TODAY AND TOLD IT HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
CHANGING GEAR IS GETTING LOCK AFTER PUTTING THE GEAR IN PARK, HAVING TROUBLE CHANGING IT TO DRIVE.
THE GEAR SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK. IN STARTING UP THE CAR AND TRYING TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF PARK, IT WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK.
I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 4 YEARS. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT IT HAS HAD SOME SORT OF STUTTERING, HESITATION FROM WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION. SPEED, CRUISE, UPHILL DOWNHILL MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT 4-5 TIMES WITH NISSAN'S NOTHINGS EVER FINDING A THING WRONG. NOW, AFTER CONTINUED WORSENING IT FINALLY WENT OUT. WILL RUN IN EVER GEAR AT 10-15 MPH. I GUESS I PROVED MY POINT, BUT LOST THE CAR. NOW I STILL HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK TO THESE KNOW NOTHING SHADE TREE MECHANICS!
MY NAME IS [XXX] AND I AM WRITING TO YOU REGARDING MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. APPARENTLY I WAS ON MY WAY HOME ONE EVENING WITH MY BABY AND I HAD ON MY LOW BEAMS AND I COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME, THE LIGHTS WERE ON; BUT, NOTHING WAS COMING OUT OF IT. MY HUSBAND CHANGED THE BULB AND STILL NOTHING. I TOOK IT TO SUTHERLIN NISSAN AND THE SERVICE GUY TOLD ME HE IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE 2013 ALTIMA, AND HE HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS ONES THAT HAD TO BE CHANGED. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY; SO, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE $130 TO CHECK IT OUT TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON. THIS PAST FRIDAY MY CAR STARTED LOSING POWER AND SHUTTING OFF, I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE AIR FLOW SENSOR AND WHEN THE GUY CHECKED MY HEADLIGHTS HE SAID IT IS BLACK INSIDE THE PROJECTION AREA NOTHING WILL COME THROUGH EVEN IF YOU CHANGED THE BULBS AND I EVEN BOUGHT A LED KIT AND THE SHOP TOLD ME NOTHING WILL WORK BECAUSE THE PROJECTION IS BURNT OUT. I HAVE HAD THREE ALTIMA'S IN THE PAST; 2002, 2003, AND 2013 AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS WAS NOT RECALLED. I HAVE MY FAMILY TO THINK ABOUT DRIVING ON THESE HIGHWAYS WITH NO LOW BEAMS, I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS AND PEOPLE ARE FLASHING ME BECAUSE I AM BLINDING THEM; BUT, I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SEE. I AM VERY UPSET AND DISSATISFIED, I DO NOT SEE WHY I SHOULD HAVE TO SPEND OVER $900 ON NEW HEADLIGHTS WHEN THE PARTS GUY AND SERVICE GUYS KNOW THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR VEHICLE THEY TEND TO KEEP THIS IN STOCK. THE NISSAN ALTIMA 2013, DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE BREAKS, TRAPPING INDIVIDUAL IN CAR CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE IN ANY URGENT OR EMERGENCY SITUATION. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN COMPLAINT HAPPENED. FREQUENT OCCURRENCE WITH THOUSANDS OR MODELS 2011-2015 AS INDICATED BY CONSUMER REPORTS. CONSIDERATION FOR RECALL.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS AT ALL TIMES TO SEE THE ROAD. THIS IS SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE
HELLO, MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG. SINCE AUGUST 2017, THE CAR'S AIRBAG ALARM LIGHT IS ON。 AFTER THIS HAPPENED, I WENT TO GAINESVILLE NISSAN TWO TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT BEEN SOLVED. THE FIRST TIME WAS ON 9/1/2017. THEY (GAINESVILLE NISSAN) CHARGED ME $34.78 AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS THE AIRBAG SENSOR, THE WARNING LIGHT WAS REMOVED AT THAT TIME. BUT AFTER ABOUT TWO MONTHS THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON THE DASHBOARD AGAIN. SO I WENT TO GAINESVILLE NISSAN THE SECOND TIME, ON 3/5/2018. THIS TIME THEY CHARGED $49.95 AND STILL SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SENSOR. UNFORTUNATELY, THE AIRBAG ALARM LIGHT SHOW ON THE DASHBOARD ONE MORE TIME AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH UNTIL NOW. AFTER THESE TWO REPAIRS, I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AIRBAG HAS QUALITY PROBLEMS, AND GAINESVILLE NISSAN IS VERY IRRESPONSIBLE. AND NISSAN IS RECALLING CARS ON A LARGE SCALE BECAUSE OF AIRBAG PROBLEMS, I HOPE MY PROBLEMS CAN BE SOLVED, THANKS.
TAKATA RECALL THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT OF MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS BEEN ON FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. I HAVE BEEN GONE TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP TWO TIMES, AFTER THEIR MAINTENANCE, EVERY TIME THE AIRBAG LIGHT GOES OUT FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN IT LIGHTS UP AGAIN. THE AIRBAG MUST BE FAILED, BUT THE NISSAN DEALER DID NOT REPLACE IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED EXTREMELY LOW, CAUSING A VISIBILITY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN OF ROUTE 46 (440 RT. 46, EAST TOTOWA, NJ) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE BARELY VISIBLE. PROVIDES ALMOST ZERO LIGHT ON THE ROAD. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHTS ON ALL THE TIME. HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS NUMEROUS TIMES AND RECENTLY LEARNED THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE 2013-2015 MODELS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH LIGHTS THAT DO NOTHING.
06/2015 MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO MALFUNCTION. 07/2017 TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE SAME DEALER FOR RECALL PC491 CVT, 08/29/17, MY TRANSMISSION STARTS WITH FAILURE PROBLEMS WHICH I WAS NOT INFORMED OF AT DEALER ON 7/2017, 2 YEARS AFTER TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. MY CAR IS A DANGER WHILE DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN, STALLS WHILE DRIVING, STREETS, FREEWAYS, WILL NOT TAKE OFF. NEED TO REPLACE AGAIN PER NISSAN DEALER.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THE CAR WHEN I TRY TO PUT IN REVERSE HE START TO JUMP AND THEM IS SHUT OFF SAME WHEN PUT IN DRIVE POSITION SOMEBODY TELL ME IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION.
GEAR SHIFT KEEP GETTING STUCK WHEN YOU PUT IN PARK WHEN TRYING TO PUT IN REVEARSE OR DRIVE IT WON'T MOVE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME JUST SOME TIMES.
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE INSUFFICIENT FOR SAFE NIGHT TIME DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (SEE ATTACHED). I THEN CONTACTED THE NISSAN CORPORATION WHO STATED THEY WOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD BOUGHT IT IN DURING THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE LIGHTS ARE NOT COVERED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY DID OFFER TO PAY FOR 1/3RD OF THE $1000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO PAY SOME SO THE COST WOULD BE $500. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS AND WHO'S TO SAY THAT THE REPLACEMENT WON'T DO THE SAME THING? THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE LIGHTS MELTING SOME INTERNAL FILM - THE LIGHT BEAM THEN HITS THE FILM & REFRACTS AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. REPLACING THE ACTUAL HEADLIGHT DOES NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. (MY SISTER HAS THE SAME MAKE & MODEL AND HAS TRIED THIS). RECENTLY, I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN WALKING ACROSS A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I LIVE ONE MILE DOWN A COMPLETELY DARK ROAD. DRIVING WITH MY HIGH BEAMS IS FINE, BUT DANGEROUS WHEN THERE IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHEN I TURN THEM OFF I HAVE TO DROP MY SPEED TO 15 MILES BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY SEE. THIS IS ALSO DANGEROUS. I FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THE LIGHTS ON THESE CARS BECAUSE 1. PEOPLE LIVING IN 'THE CITY' MIGHT BE UNAWARE 2.DOING DUE DILIGENCE TO HAVE A SAFE CARE I.E. REPLACING A BURNT OUT BULB DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND 3. PAYING $1000 TO MAKE A CAR SAFE IS OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON.
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE LOW BEAMS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, CAUSING ME TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON CONTINUOUSLY. THE LOW BEAMS ONLY ILLUMINATE APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO NISSAN AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I ASKED THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS QUOTED ALMOST $1300 FOR THE FIX.
TAKATA RECALL ON AUGUST 15, 2017 I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON MY WAY TO WORK IN WHICH I SWERVED SO I WOULDN'T HIT A DEER AND INSTEAD HIT A TREE DAMAGING THE FRONT MIDDLE PORTION OF MY CAR WHICH,,,TO MY SURPRISE,,,, MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AND THE UPPER PORTION OF MY CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL ... AFTER THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY CAME & GOT MY VEHICLE ,, MY HUSBAND TOOK ME TO THE URGENT CARE CLINIC WHERE THEY TOOK XRAYS OF MY CHEST FINDING THAT IT WAS JUST SEVERELY BRUISED... THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO CLYDES AUTO BODY IN SALIDA, CO. WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED I HAVE ALL THE DOCUMENTS,,, PICTURES OF THE DAMAGED CAR , & HOSPITAL RECEIPTS & RECORDS IF REQUIRED UPON READING THIS COMPLAINT... HEAD LIGHT BEAM IS TOO LOW.
WE PURCHASED A USED NISSAN 2013 ALTIMA APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AGO. WE WERE DRIVING WESTBOUND ON INTERSTATE 71 BETWEEN FLORENCE, KENTUCKY AND LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY. THE CAR HAD ABOUT 86,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SEEMED TO VIBRATE AND FEEL LIKE IT WAS MISSING OR STALLING. FREQUENTLY THE TACHOMETER WOULD REV HIGH WITHOUT ANY CHANGE IN ACCELERATION. WE STOPPED AT A REST AREA JUST EAST OF LOUISVILLE. WHEN WE LEFT THE REST AREA TO MERGE BACK ON TO I-71 WE LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND HAD TO PULL ON TO SHOULDER BEFORE BEING STRUCK BY AN ONCOMING SEMI. THE CAR JERKED BACK INTO MOVEMENT AND WE MADE IT INTO LOUISVILLE AND ONTO I-64. THE FARTHER WE WENT THE LESS RESPONSIVE THE CAR GOT AND WE SLOWED TO A MAXIMUM SPEED OF ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND HAD TO PULL ONTO THE VERY NARROW SHOULDER TO GET OUT OF THE HEAVY TRAFFIC. AFTER LETTING THE CAR SIT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT MOVING AGAIN AND AFTER 2 MORE STOPS MADE IT TO CORYDON, INDIANA. AT THAT POINT WE RODE IN THE OTHER VEHICLE WE WERE TRAVELING WITH THE REST OF THE WAY HOME THEN RETURNED TO CORYDON WITH A TRAILER TO HAUL THE NISSAN HOME. WE HAULED THE NISSAN TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE THE OWNER DETERMINED THE CVT TRANSMISSION PAN WAS FULL OF METAL SHAVINGS AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEEMED SHOT! SUBSEQUENT TO THIS HAPPENING WE FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAD EXTENDED THEIR POWER-TRAIN WARRANTY FROM 60,000 TO 120,000 MILES ON EARLIER MODELS (THROUGH 2010), BUT NOT THE 2013. WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED SIGNIFICANT TIME LOST, VERY SIGNIFICANT EXPENSE, AND WERE IN DANGER OF BEING REAR-ENDED ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CAR LOST ALL ACCELERATION.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN MY DOOR. THE HANDLE IS MADE OUT OF CHEAP PLASTIC. THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THE CAR IS TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS IF I AM IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE CAR QUICKLY TO ESCAPE DANGER.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON IN THE DASH WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG STAYS OFF SO IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS WILL DEPLOY. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I TURN MY VEHICLE ON.
MY HEADLIGHTS STARTING BECOMING DIM AROUND 70,000 MILES THEY GOT SO DIM THAT I COLD OLY DRIVE AT NIGHT USING MY HIGH BEAMS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEED TO BE REPLACED SO I WENT AHEAD AND DID THAT. I ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN AS THIS WAS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THE REPAIR COST ABOUT $1,200 AND NISSAN IS NOT WILLING TO HELP OR ADMIT THERE WAS A DEFECT.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR A SENSORY RECALL FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. PRIOR TO THIS THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WORKED PROPERLY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP ADJUSTED THE SENSORS AND SINCE THEN THE AIRBAG INDICATOR HAS NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO HAVE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT READJUST THE SENSORS IN THE SEAT BUT THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM CORRECTED BUT WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT SEE A PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN THEM PICTURES AND VIDEOS SHOWING A PASSENGER IN MY CAR WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT STILL ON. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATE WITH THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. NISSAN CORPORATE HAS TOLD ME TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE LIGHT/AIRBAG HAS NOT ENGAGED WHEN PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT BUT THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED AT 7:30 IN THE EVENING WHEN I WAS OUT OF TOWN. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING NOW SINCE 2017. I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO TO MAKE MY CAR SAFE FOR EVERYONE THAT RIDES IN IT. THANK YOU... THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED AND REMAINED LIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN 422 OF LIMERICK (55 AUTOPARK BLVD, LIMERICK, PA 19468, (610) 495-1856), BUT IT HAD NOT YET BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,458.
I HAVE OWNED A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA FOR JUST OVER 3 YEARS. THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 99,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE TRANSMISSION DIED ON ME. I WAS MAKING THE SHORT TRIP TO HOME DEPOT ONE DAY (APPROX. 3 WEEKS AGO) WHEN MY NISSAN ALTIMA STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET! I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN MY CAR SHUDDERED AND THEN STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY INTERSECTION; THANKFULLY IT TURNED BACK OVER AND I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE MY TRIP. AFTER I FINISHED MY SHOPPING AT HOME DEPOT I CAME TO MY CAR AND TRIED TO LEAVE, THE CAR STARTED BUT WOULD SHUTTER AND DIE AS SOON AS I PUT IT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE. EVENTUALLY, I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS 40 MINS AWAY. AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT AND THAT IT COULDN'T BE FIXED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED...$4,500!!! DESPITE THERE BEING A RECALL ON THE CVT WHICH CONTROLS THE 2ND PULLEY IN THE TRANSMISSION, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CVT RECALL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY TRANSMISSION DYING. EVENTHOUGH, THE RECALL ITSELF STATES THAT FAILING TO GET THE RECALL PERFORMED COULD CAUSE DAMAGE; $4,500 CONTLSTITUTES SERIOUS ENOUGH DAMAGE TO ME! I CONTACTED THE NISSAN AMERICA CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY BASICALLY ECHOED WHAT THE DEALERSHIP SAID AND WE'RE OF NO HELP.
THE STRUT MOUNT PROBLEM. I HAD CHANGED THIS A YEAR AGO. I FIXED THIS PROBLEM BY WARRENTY. BUT, 2 WEEKS LATER, IT WAS BROKEN AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FORWARD IN ANY GEAR WHEN PROMPTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR TSB FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED ITEM NUMBER: 10109248 AND NTB15-0878 AS POSSIBLE CAUSES RELATED TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LINKAGE THAT TRAVELED TO THE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT LANE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A MAJOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FENTON NISSAN WEST (8800 N W EXPRESSWAY, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, 73162) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER SOFTWARE. THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CHANGED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO FENTON NISSAN WEST WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER A RECALL AND THERE WAS NOTHING DONE TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A LAWSUIT THAT WAS STILL IN LITIGATION AND THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT WHEN IT SETTLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,500.
TAKATA RECALL. HAD MY CAR IN THE DEALER FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL. EVER SINCE THE CAR PASSANGER LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN IF I SIT ON IT AND IM 180LBS AND THE DASH AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL WEEKS OF THE RECALL SERVICE. NOW I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY DON'T WANT TO HONOR THE PROBLEM. THEY SAY ITS RELATED TO A DIFFERENT ISSUE THAN WHAT THEY DID. THEY WANT TO RUN A DIAGNOSE CHARGE ME FOR IT AND FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND I DON'T THINK I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE SINCE THE CAR AIRBAG SYSTEM INDICATORS WERE WORKING CORRECTLY BEFORE I TOOK IT.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION ON MY 2013 ALTIMA WENT OUT. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND COMPLETED REQUIRED MAINTENANCE. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AFTER LESS THAN 4 YEARS AND AT 70K MILES. IT SEEMS THAT THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR WILL SHUTTER, JERK, AND SHUT OFF WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED/IDLE. THE CAR ALSO SHUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING AND DOES NOT HAVE MUCH POWER. THIS WAS AN EXTREME SAFE HAZARD WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR IS NOT SHIFTING GEARS PROPERLY/TRANSMISSION BROKE. NISSAN HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FOR MODEL YEARS 2006-2010 AND OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THOSE YEARS. NISSAN SHOULD REIMBURSE AND/OR OFFER WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR 2011+ MODELS AS WELL.
CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES. RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION TO REPROGRAM THE CVT. ISSUE STARTED BEFORE THE REPROGRAM AND BEFORE 100K MILES, STALLED OUT IN TRAFFIC, SMELLED BURNING RUBBER, SPUTTERING WHILE DRIVING NO ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH. ALL THESE ISSUES OCCURRED BEFORE THE RECALL NOTICE. ONCE I RECEIVED THE NOTICE FROM NISSAN, TOOK INTO SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO COMPLETE. WORKED FINE WITH LITTLE ISSUES, STILL SPUTTERING AND STALLED OUT ONCE FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS, ISSUE STARTED AGAIN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THIS TIME. TOOK INTO SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR DIAGNOSTICS AS REQUESTED FROM NISSAN, MY OWN EXPENSE, WAS NOTIFIED BY SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE CODE IS P17F1 " DEATH CODE" FOR TRANSMISSION. CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO APPLY FOR OUT OF WARRANTY ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN WAS TOLD DID NOT QUALIFY, DUE TO MILEAGE. MILEAGE IS NOW OVER 100K. THE CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS CONSIST OF THE TRANSMISSION OIL GETTING TO HOT WHILE DRIVING ON TRIPS, CAUSING THE SEALS TO BURN. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUES CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERIENCING WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING.
PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT PASSENGER MOST TIMES, MEANING THE AIR BAG DOES NOT ACTIVATE. HAPPENS MORE WHEN PASSENGER IS SEATED BEFORE THE CAR IS STARTED. THIS HAPPENS WITH ANY PASSENGER, ALL DIFFERENT SIZES AND WEIGHTS. DEALER HAS NOT FOUND ANY ERROR CODES, AND SENSOR HAS BEEN RESET MULTIPLE TIMES. ALL PREVIOUS RECALLS TO THIS ISSUE HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED, ISSUE STILL EXISTS.
THE PROBLEM EXPERIENCED WITH MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON STREETS OR HIGHWAYS. WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS HOT (I.E. >95 DEGREES), THE CAR PERIODICALLY APPEARS TO ENTER INTO "LIMP MODE" WHERE POWER IS CUT FROM THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE DEFECT IS CAUSED BY HIGH TEMPERATURE WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION (CVT) FLUID AND A SENSOR TRIGGERS A "LIMP MODE" TO PROTECT THE TRANSMISSION FROM DAMAGE. THIS CAUSES AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE CONDITION SINCE I (THE DRIVER) MAY LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC (I.E. WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN) RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. MY OWN INTERNET RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN (CVT) TRANSMISSIONS AND THE MECHANICAL FIX IS TO INSTALL A TRANSMISSION COOLER. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAS DRIVEN THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, THEREFORE THEY HAVE NOT OFFERED A SOLUTION TO THIS UNSAFE CONDITION.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE BARELY VISIBLE ON LOW BEAM. SPOKE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT NISSAN WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT. THE PROJECTOR FILM INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS FAILING AND THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT IS REPLACE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY, AROUND $1,000. WITH THIS LACK OF HEADLIGHT PROJECTION, YOU ARE OUT DRIVING YOUR VISIBILITY WHEN YOU ARE TRAVELING OVER 25 MPH. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER, AS WELL AS ANY PEDESTRIANS YOU MAY DRIVE UPON AND NOT SEE UNTIL IT MAY BE TOO LATE. I'M LOOKING FOR THE NSTFB TO STEP UP AND FORCE NISSAN TO STAND BEHIND THIS KNOWN PROBLEM.

DRIVE)AND AFTER A BRIEF STOP,IT WOULD NOT BUDGE.I LOADED THE CAR ON A TRAILOR AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN JONESBORO AR.ITOLD THE SERVICE MAN ABOUT IT AND THAT I HAD CONTACTED NHTSA AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE #27278124,BUT HE DIDN'T SEEM TOO INTERESTED IN IT. I LATER FOUND THE RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG.THE CONWAY PEOPLE SAID THEY PREFORMED THE HOOD LATCH RECALL.P.S,IALSO WAS TOLD THE CVT RECALL WAS INTERNAL.

TOOK TO DEALER TO DIAGNOSE; DIAGNOSE: ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT (DONE). KNOCKING NOISE STILL PRESENT. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR FURTHER ASSESSMENT DIAGNOSE " NORMAL NOISE"??? I'M NOT A MECHANIC BUT NONE OF MY OTHER CARS DO THIS NOISE, THIS NOISE IS DONE BY CARS IN WHICH THE ENGINE IS DYING OUT. ELECTRICAL ISSUE, MY CAR WOULDN'T START SAYING INCORRECT KEY, WHEN I OPENED THE HOOD THE BATTERY POST HAD COMPLETELY BURNED OFF, WIRES WAS BURNT, AND BATTERY EXPLODED. THE FUSIBLE LINK FOR THE TERMINAL BREAKER FOR THE BATTERY WAS ALSO BURNT, EVERY NOW AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO START MY CAR IT WOULD SAY KEY NOT DETECTABLE OR WRONG KEY ID. I THOUGHT THE BATTERY IN THE KEY PROBE WAS GOING OUT REPLACED IT AND THE PROBLEM STILL WAS PRESENT. I HAVE 2 CO-WORKERS AND THERE VEHICLE ARE DOING THE SAME THING ONE HAS A 2014 AND THE OTHER IS A 2016 BRAND NEW HAD LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON AND MY VEHICLE ALMOST CAUGHT ON FIRE.

Both of my headlamp lights are very dim to the point I can't see well with them at night. This has been for a long time, and extremely dangerous as I've almost had accidents. The police has stopped me several times and given me warnings to have it fixed, but it is too expensive for me . It was inspected by the dealer and failed the inspection.

I BOUGHT MY CAR IN APRIL 2016 I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES IT CHUGS ALL THE TIME ON HIGHWAY/CITY/COUNTY ROADS, AND WHILE TURNING LEFT AND RIGHT WITH CRUZE SET OR NOT. EVERY TIME I GET IN MY CAR AND TRY TO SHIFT IT DOWN FROM PARK IT DON'T ALWAYS SHIFT OR IF I TRY SHIFTING UP IT'S LIKE IT STICKS IT HAS BEEN FIXED ONCE ALREADY, WHEN THE HEATED SEATS ARE ON LOW OR HIGH SETTING IF LEFT ON LONGER THAN 5 MINUETS IT GETS BURNING HOT. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALSO SUPER LOOSE MY CAR HAS 82,000 MILES ON IT I'VE HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND I'VE HAD SO MANY ISSUES INCLUDING THE AIR CONDITIONING MARQUART MOTORS OUT OF CHIPPEWA FALLS WI REFUSES TO RETURN MY CALLS (I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THEM THEY ARE USELESS AND UNHELPFUL ) I HAVE A EXTENDED WARRANTY AS WELL SO MOST REPAIRS ARE COVERED THANK GOD BUT WON'T BE FOR LONG. INSIDE DOOR HANDLES MY DRIVER SIDE DOORS, BOTH FRONT AND BACK, HAD THE HANDLE INSIDE BROKEN. I CAN NO LONGER OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME THE DOOR WAS ATTEMPTING TO BE OPENED. THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT BROKE AS I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS UNLOCKED, AND WHEN I USED THE HANDLE, IT BROKE AND WILL NOT OPEN. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR BROKE AS THE CAR WAS IN PARK FOR AT LEAST 1 MINUTE AND THE DOOR WAS ATTEMPTING TO BE OPENED.
