SHIFTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED A/C COMPRESSOR NEEDS REPLACED SEAT BELT LIGHT/AIR BAG LIGHT ISSUE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. AFTERWARDS, THE INTERIOR HANDLES ON ALL FOUR DOORS WERE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND NOTICED A LOT OF CORROSION ON THE BATTERY TERMINALS. THE BATTERY HAD BEEN CHANGED OUT THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE WAS STILL BEING EXPERIENCED. THE DEALER (TOWN CENTER NISSAN, 2310 BARRETT LAKES BLVD NW, KENNESAW, GA 30144) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE DOOR HANDLE FAILURE "COULD BE A SAFETY RISK". THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REASON THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WAS DUE TO CORROSION OF THE BATTERY TERMINALS. BOTH REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE BOTH FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
AFTER A FEW YEARS OF NORMAL OPERATION THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE NO LONGER EFFECTIVE. THEY ARE TOO DIM TO RELY ON WHILE DRIVING ON DARK ROADS/HIGHWAYS. MUST USE HIGH-BEAMS FOR PROPER VISIBILITY. REPLACING BULBS DOES NOT HELP.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE HAVING NEVER DRIVEN IT AT NIGHT. UPON MY FIRST TIME DRIVING IT AT NIGHT, I LEARNED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE WILDLY INEFFECTIVE AND I COULD NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD MORE THAN 15 OR SO FEET IN FRONT OF ME. THIS MADE DRIVING EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I WENT TO A DEALER AND HAD THEM REPLACE THE BULBS INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY, BUT SAW NO CHANGE IN THE EFFECTIVENESS. THE INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS BURNED/DETERIORATED AND NO LONGER PROJECTS THE LIGHT FROM THE BULB. THE ONLY SOLUTION TO ALLOW SAFE DRIVING IN DARK CONDITIONS IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRETY OF THE FAULTY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON BOTH SIDES.
EASTBOUND MASS PIKE, CONSTRUCTION BARREL IN LEFT LANE, STRUCK WITH FRONT LEFT BUMPER. FOG LIGHT SMASHED & BUMPER CRACKED. TRAVELING AROUND 45-50 MPH, NO CONSTRUCTION SITE IN THIS AREA.
LEAVING WORK FROM PARKING GARAGE ON MAY 30,2017, PUT CAR IN GEAR FOR REVERSE AND CAR DID NOT MOVE, FORWARD AND BACKWARDS,HAD TO GET HELP TO PUSH CAR IN PARKING SPACE AND GET A RECKER TO PULL THE CAR HOME, CARS GEARS ARE NOT WORKING, AND THIS IS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA.
TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON VEHICLE WILL GO MOVING MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON FREEWAY THE REPROGRAMMED THE TCM STILL SAME PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE. IT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS SINCE NO WARNING WHEN VEHICLE GOES TO NEUTRAL WITHOUT ANY WARNING
WE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE OCS RECALL AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE SYSTEM BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM TO FIX THE ISSUE, WITHIN THE YEAR WE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH OCS SENSORS AND HAVE IT REPROGRAMMED AGAIN. I DO NOT FEEL THEY MET THE INTENT OF THE RECALL AND WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF THIS ISSUE IS/WAS COMMON AND WHAT IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.
ABOUT 1.5 YEARS AGO, I NOTICED MY DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT SUDDENLY BECOME DIM, A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE SAME WITH THE PAX LIGHT. IT MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT TO THE POINT I WAS DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAMS. I WENT TO GET THE REQUIRED REJECTED STICKER FOR THE CAR AND WAS REJECTED DUE TO THE LIGHTS. AFTER REPLACING THE BULBS TWICE WITH 2 SEPARATE MECHANICS, STILL NO APPROPRIATE LIGHTING & A SECOND STICKER REJECTION. I WAS QUOTED BY 2 SEPARATE MECHANICS BETWEEN $850-1000 TO REPLACE BOTH OF THE LIGHTING UNITS WITH AFTERMARKET PARTS AND I JUST DO NOT HAVE THAT MONEY TO GIVE. I RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM SO, SEEMS THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. I CALLED NISSAN TODAY TO ASK ABOUT A RECALL BUT, THERE ISN'T ONE. I ASKED FOR NISSAN TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENTS & WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK AFTER ASSESSING THE YEAR, MILEAGE, REPAIR HISTORY, ETC...LOCALLY, I ONLY DRIVE LOCALLY BECAUSE I'VE BEEN DRIVING VIRTUALLY BLINDLY AND ILLEGALLY FOR 1+ YEAR NOW FRUSTRATED TO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION. I HOPE THAT NISSAN WILL RECOGNIZE THE ISSUE AND PAY FOR THE REPAIR.
CPSC: 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA, I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR JUST DIED. THE CAR STARTS BUT I PUT IN DRIVE IT SHUTS OFF AGAIN, THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS HAPPENED TO LOTS OF OTHER NISSAN OWNERS BUT NISSAN ONLY EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THEY TRANSMISSION ON CARS FROM 2008 T0 2010. *BF UPDATED 06/13/2017*JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FAILED TO DISPENSE COOL AIR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN THE OPTION TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALER TO ENSURE THAT THE FAILURE BE RESOLVED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
AIRBAG SENSOR NOT DETECTING WEIGHT ON PASSENGER SEAT AT ALL TIMES. PROBLEM STARTED WHEN CAR HAD A RELATIVELY LOW MILAGE (UNDER 50K). DEALERSHIP SAID PROBLEM IS DUE TO AIRBAG MODULE WITH NO RECALLS ON THIS SPECIFIC CAR. AIRBAGS ON PASSENGER SIDE ARE COMPLETELY NOT FUNCTIONAL AT ALL TIMES. I WAS VERY HESITANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT UNTIL NOW.
THE NISSAN ALTIMA STARTS THROUGH A TECHNOLOGY CALLED "PUSH TO START". WHEN I GET INTO MY VEHICLE, THE DASHBOARD SAYS "KEY ID INCORRECT". THIS STARTED HAPPENING SHORTLY AFTER MY CAR WAS PROGRAMMED FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR WILL NOT START SINCE YOU NEED THE KEY TO START THE CAR. THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO START THE CAR, AND IF THE KEY IS NOT RECOGNIZED FOR TOO LONG THE CAR HAS STOPPED DRIVING WHILE IN MOTION. LASTLY, THE CAR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN YOU ARE INSIDE AND THE KEY ID IS NOT BEING RECOGNIZED. IF YOU ARE IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION THIS CAN BE PROBLEMATIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIR THAT WAS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER A WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE RECALL DETAILS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 153,000.
LIGHTS LOW BEAM ARE DEAM ,CHANGE OUT THE BULBS AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM
THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED 5/3/2017. DRIVER AND (180 LB) ADULT PASSENGER ENTERED CAR IN FRONT SEATS, CLICKED SEATBELTS, STARTED VEHICLE AND DROVE APPROX. 1 MILE. PASSENGER NOTICED AIRBAG DEFEAT LIGHT WAS ON. DRIVER PULLED OVER; TURNED CAR OFF; RESTARTED CAR; LIGHT WENT OUT. THE AIRBAG SYSTEM DID NOT DETECT AN ADULT PASSENGER UPON INITIAL TRAVEL, BUT DID AFTER THE CAR WAS RESTARTED. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAD RECALLNTB16-052 APPLIED. ON 5/5/2017 DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE AND HAS REFUSED SERVICE.
AT A STOPLIGHT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, THE CAR STALLED. WHEN PUT IN GEAR IT DIES. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. THE VEHICLE HAS 60,080 MILES AND THE WARRANTY IS GOOD TO 60,000 MILES.
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT DOES NOT SENSE PASSENGER SITTING IN SEAT TO TURN AIR BAG ON (INTERMITTENTLY) AND AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON ON THE DASHBOARD YET NO CODES HAVE BEEN SHOWN WHEN MECHANIC TRIED TO PULL CODES. LIGHT IS ON CONSTANT WHEN IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT SOMETIMES SENSES, OTHER TIMES IT DOES NOT.
SOLID RED AIRBAG SIGN IS ON DASHBOARD. DIAGNOSTIC PORT DOES NOT SHOW ANY CODE FOR THIS PROBLEM.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. I HAVE AND THE BULBS CHANGED TWICE. AFTER CHANGING THEM IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE IN THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE LOW BEAM. I HAVE TALKED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT NISSAN WHERE OUR CAR IS SERVICED AND HE HAS STATED THAT THEY HAVE ALSO HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH LOW BEAM. AFTER GETTING ONLINE AND CHECKING OUT TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID IT APPEARS THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED WHICH RUN SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 700 TO $1,000 AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR IS ACTUALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT UNLESS I USE MY HIGH BEAMS AND THIS HAS BEEN CAUSING A PROBLEM TO THE OTHER CARS THAT ARE ON THE ROAD. IT'S WAY TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT IN THIS CONDITION SO I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT HAVING TO PURCHASE AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLIES BECAUSE THEIR COST IS MUCH LESS THAN THE DEALERSHIPS. I'M ASSURED THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT.
I CLOSE MY TRUCK OF MY CAR AND THE WINDOW JUST SHATTERED. I WENT INTO THE HOME WHERE I WAS. WE CALLED A NEIGHBOR A MAN TO COME. HE SAID IT WOULD BE FINE TO DRIVE HOME. IT WOULD NOT FALL IN HE SAID. WE COULD CONTINUE TO HEAR IT CRACKING. IT WAS 74 DEGREES OUTSIDE. ANOTHER PERSON SAID THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN A BACK WINDOW SHATTER BEFORE. SINCE IT WAS DARK WE COULD NOT KNOW IF SOMETHING FELL ONTO IT. NOTHING BUT DARK SKIES AND STARS ABOVE. SOMEONE TOUCH IT AND IT FELL IN. SO I PUT A SUN VISOR IN THE BACK TO CATCH THE FALLING GLASS. WE ALL WAS SHOCK. THEY ALL THOUGHT WITH THE HEATER COILS IT WOULD NOT FALL IN OR WITH THE PROTECTIVE COATING LIKE TINT WOULD HOLD IT. STRANGE I DROVE HOME 20 MPH. COVERED AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE ORDERED AND I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. PLEASE HELP. I WAS IN N.C, 27870 ON 514 DAVIE ST. ABOUT 9:30 PM. ON 04-29-17
THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE UNTIL 4/26/17. IT STARTED TO ALMOST STALL AT RED LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, THEN IT COMPLETELY STOPPED MOVING IN TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE STAYED ON BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT. NO LIGHT ON DASH OR WARNING. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO CONFER WITH THE REGIONAL MANAGER AND CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,900.
I HAVE TAKING TO THE NISSAN DEALER, THE SHIFT GEAR WILL NOT MOVE OR SWITCH GEAR DO TO THE PROBLEM WITH THE SOLENOID, IS NOT CONNECTING, I HEAR IS A RECALL BUT THE DEALER WILL NOT FIX IT, BECAUSE BY THE TIME I HAVE THIS PROBLEM MY CAR WAS OVER 60,000 MILES. IT WILL COST ME OVER $800 OUT OF MY PACKET. I BEEN BACK AND FORT DRIVING WITH THEM AND REFUSED TO WORK WITH ME UNLESS I PAID FULL AMOUNT, I KNOW THAT IS IN FACT A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE SHIFT LOCK AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MY CAR. EVERY TIME I START MY CAR I NEED TO USED A PIN OR SMALL SCREW DRIVER TO PUSH DOWN THE EMERGENCY SHIFT RELEASE.
THE FACTORY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT CREATES AN ENORMOUS SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. USING THE HIGH BEAMS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SEE THE ROAD, BUT PRESENTS A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS. NISSAN ACTS AS IF THEY DON'T KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM, BUT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED!
NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS I ALWAYS HAD THE SHAKING AND JUDDERING PROBLEM AFTER THE NISSAN CVT SOFTWARE RECALL THE SHAKING AND JUDDERING GOT WORSE AND KNOW THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THE VALVE IN THE CVT NEEDS REPLACING AFTER A MONTH OF THE RECALL AND AFTER MONTH MY POWERTRAIN WARANTY EXPIRED THE VEHICLE SHAKES WHILE REVERSING OR IN DFIVE OR IN PARK OR JUST IDLE
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND CAME TO A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN IT WAS AS IF MY CAR SHUT DOWN. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, BREAK, TURN THE CAR OFF AND PLACE IN PARK. THE CAR COASTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND I STEERED IT TO THE CURB. I SLAMMED ON BREAKS AS HARD AS I COULD AND THE CAR JERKED SO HARD. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN PARK BUT THE CAR WOULDNT TURN OFF FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT TURNED OFF AND STARTED AGAIN AND DROVE IT HOME (LESS THAN A MILE) AND PARKED IT. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR
MY AIRBAGS IN MY CAR ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL. THE RED AND YELLOW AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE ON FOR THE DURATION OF ANY TRIP IN THE CAR. THE SENSOR THAT IS SUPPOSED TO DETECT AN ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT FUNCTION SO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS ALWAYS OFF -ATTACHMENT 1. I WENT TO THE DEACON JONES NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN GOLDSBORO NC ON 4-12-17 FOR THE RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. THE "REPROGRAMMING" THAT WAS DONE WAS INEFFECTIVE. THIS WAS NOT REPORTED TO ME. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 7-6-17 TO GET THE ISSUE ADDRESSED. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR HAD NO RECALLS OUTSTANDING AND I WOULD NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT REPLACED. INSTEAD I ELECTED TO CALL NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY COULD OFFER AN EXPLANATION OR REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH [XXX] AGENTID: [XXX]. HE CREATED A CASE AND SENT IT TO THEIR REPAIR SPECIALISTS. TODAY, 7-11-17 I SPOKE WITH [XXX] THE CASE MANAGER. HE INFORMED ME THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT BE REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED OUT OF POCKET. MY CONCERNS ARE: 1. NISSAN ISN'T TAKING THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY SERIOUSLY. SOME PEOPLE WOULD SIMPLY NOT BE ABLE TO PAY TO HAVE THIS DEFECTIVE UNIT REPLACED AND COULD SUFFER INJURY AS A RESULT. 2. THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT (IF I REPLACED IT OUT OF POCKET) WOULD FAIL AGAIN. 3. THE AIRBAG UNIT REPROGRAMMING HAS BEEN INEFFECTIVE ON OTHER CARS AND DOESN'T SEEM TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. SIMILAR TO THE HOOD LATCH ISSUE WHICH REQUIRED 3 RECALLS TO ADDRESS. 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5S WAS SERVICED ON DECEMBER 19, 2016 AT PLANET NISSAN 5850 CENTENNIAL CENTER BLVD. LAS VEGAS, NV 89149 DEALER PERFORMED R1609 OCS RECALL & PC490 CVT REPROGRAM RECALL. DURING THESE PROCESS SOME ELECTRICAL ITEMS DAMAGE. NOW CVT (CONTINUES VARIABLE TRANSMISSION) IS FAILING. ON APRIL 6, 2017 TOOK VEHICLE TO AUTONATION NISSAN LAS VEGAS 5800 W. SAHARA AVE THE SERVICE CONSULTANT SAID CVT IS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACE BUT NISSAN DO NOT WANT TO PAY. VEHICLE DRIVES BUT WHEN YOU REACH 25-35 MILES PER HOUR IT JERKS, ALSO 65 MILES PER HOUR IT JERKS THEN IT LOOSES POWER, VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP AND IT DOES NOT MOVE. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD. NISSAN NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS INJURED.
THE DASHBOARD BRAKE WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WHEN DRIVING & REMAINS ON UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES STARTING WHEN CAR WAS 3 MONTHS OLD. NISSAN DEALER SAYS COMPUTER ANALYSIS SHOWS INCIDENT OCCURS BUT COMPUTER DOESN'T SHOW WHY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEE NISSAN (235 MIRACLE STRIP PKWY SW, FORT WALTON BEACH, FL 32548) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CTV NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 177,000.
NISSAN HEADLIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE. NISSAN KNOWS THIS. NISSAN KNOWS THAT HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM & DRIVERS CAN'T SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THIS SAFETY HAZARD WHICH RESULTS IN INJURY & DEATH.
I BOUGHT MY CAR USED IN OCTOBER OF 2016 WITH I BELIEVE AROUND 20,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR RAN LIKE A TOP FOR A WHILE, BUT EVENTUALLY THE CAR STARTED LUNGING INTERMITTENTLY, MAKING LOUD SCRAPING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING AND LOSING POWER TO THE WHEELS AND RED-LINING THE RPMS. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND HAVE HEARD NISSAN EMPLOYEES STATE "THESE HAVE PROBLEMS" "THEY ARE TERRIBLE" "THAT'S JUST HOW CVTS ARE" YET THEY WON'T FIX OR REPLACE IT. I AM NOW AT 60,200 MILES AND THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY JUST RAN OUT. THE DEALERSHIP WON'T FIX OR REPLACE IT AND I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH NISSAN OF AMERICA. THIS IS A MASSIVE SAFETY ISSUE. IF I AM IN AN INTERSECTION AND MY CAR DECIDES TO NOT WORK, I COULD BE KILLED. THIS IS HONESTLY TERRIFYING AND I SEEMINGLY HAVE VERY LITTLE RECOURSE. I AM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN TO GET THIS DEALT WITH BY NISSAN. THEY GAVE A ME QUOTE FOR $4200 TO REPLACE THE CVT WHICH IS RIDICULOUS FOR A 5 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 60K MILES ON IT THAT HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE DIMMED OVER TIME TO THE POINT THAT THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE ILLUMINATION TO ALLOW FOR NIGHT DRIVING.
ON APRIL 29, 2017 WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, THIS VEHICLE STALLED AT A BUSY HIGHWAY INTERSECTION AND COULD NOT BE MOVED, WHEN THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. AFTER CONTACTING NISSAN I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY THE $5000 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND IT HAS LESS THAN 80,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION THAT THE CVT WAS REPROGRAMMED AT 24,781 MILES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS, AND EVEN THE WARRANTY ON 2010 HAS BEEN INCREASED THE 120,000, BUT NOT THE 2013. IT IS A SHAME THAT I HAD A 2005 NISSAN WITH OVER 200,000 MILES AND IT STILL RAN GREAT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I SOLD IT TO BUY A NEWER NISSAN, EXPECTING THE SAME RELIABILITY. I HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN WITHOUT THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH. THIS 2013 ALTIMA WAS PREVIOUSLY A LEASED VEHICLE AND HAS HAD ALL NECESSARY MAINTENANCE PREFORMED, BUT NISSAN IS STILL NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR VEHICLE. IS IT GOING TO TAKE A DEATH CAUSED BY THE CVT BEFORE NISSAN WILL AGREE THEY ARE A FAULT? I HAVE HAD OVER $200 IN TOWING EXPENSES ALONE PLUS THE INCONVENIENCE OF NOT HAVING A VEHICLE FOR SUCH A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. NISSAN SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO PUT THEIR NAME ON A TRANSMISSION THAT HAS SO MANY ISSUES. IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TO TALK TO A NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE AND I AM CURRENTLY MAKING PAYMENTS ON A USELESS VEHICLE.

LIVING IN EXTREMELY HOT WEATHER (IN THE 100S), IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING (AC) WORKS AND WORKS WELL. I OFTEN TRAVEL WITH MY 85 YEAR OLD MOTHER AND TO HAVE THE AC BLOW HOT AIR WHILE STUCK IN TRAFFIC FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS WAS SOMETHING BOTH UNACCEPTABLE AND EMBARRASSING. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT FROM CARMAX IN PLEASANTON, CA. IT BLOWS HOT AIR ALMOST CONSISTENTLY WHILE DRIVING, REGARDLESS OF SPEED. WHILE RESEARCHING, I FOUND THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND I AM ALSO HEARING THAT, DEPENDING ON THEIR MOOD, NISSAN WILL COVER THE EXUBERANT $1500 TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR...NOT MANY HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND PER THE SALESPERSON AT CARMAX, HE RECOMMENDED THAT THE AC NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED. THEY DID SO, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. I AM SURPRISED WITH THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT HEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, AS IT IS JUST AS BAD AS LEAVING A CHILD IN A CAR FOR HOURS! WE WERE STUCK IN TRAFFIC FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS AND WERE DRENCHED WITH SWEAT ONCE WE FINALLY ARRIVED HOME. HAD SHE PASSED OUT DUE TO HEAT EXHAUSTION, I'M NOT SURE WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE BECAUSE WE WERE AT A STAND-STILL AT ONE POINT. IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I WOULD LIKE FOR NISSAN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AT NO COST TO ME AS THIS IS CLEARLY A RECALL!
VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION AT LOW SPEED BEGAN TO SHUDDER, AND STALLED WHEN BRAKE APPLIED. AFTERWARDS, VEHICLE STARTED WHILE IN PARK, BUT STALLED IMMEDIATELY WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE. DEALER DETERMINED THAT CVT TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED.
MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2013-ONLY HAS 51,000 MILES. I DRIVING TOWARDS THE GWB AND WAS SITTING ON HEAVY TRAFFIC HEADING TO THE EXIT WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE AND THEN SHUT OFF. ALL THE LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD CAME ON. I PUT THE STEER BACK TO PARK. AND RESTARTED MY CAR, IT VIBRATED A LITTLE MORE WHEN IT SHUT OFF FOR THE SECOND TIME. I TRIED A FINAL TIME TO TURN MY CAR BACK ON, WHICH FINALLY DID NOT SHUT OFF AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO WORK. I WAS SUPER SCARED AS I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, LUCKY FOR ME IT WAS HEAVY TRAFFIC AND THE OTHER VEHICLES WERE DRIVING SLOWER THAN USUAL. THIS IS NOT SAFE AS I USUALLY DRIVE WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD WITH ME. I GOT TO WORK I LOOKED UP WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO ME AND THERE ARE TONS OF COMPLAINS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T KNOW WHY NISSAN HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. I CANNOT SAY THIS CAR IS RELIABLE ANYMORE. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND TAKING THE CAR IN TOMORROW. I AM HOPING THEY CAN CHANGE MY TRANSMISSION AS I AM STILL IN WARRANTY.
DESPITE MULTIPLE RECALLS AND FIXES TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG (ALL OPEN RECALLS COMPLETED), THERE ARE STILL TIMES WHEN A NORMAL WEIGHT PASSENGER IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT INDICATES THAT IT IS OFF WITH NO PASSENGER PRESENT. AFTER RECENT RECALL WORK DONE ON CVT (REPROGRAMMING) 1 WEEK AGO , TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK THE CAR HAS FAILED TO MOVE FROM STATIONARY WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PRESSED FROM IDLE/STANDING - ENGINE DID NOT REV HIGHER ETC, LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL. HAD TO TAKE ALL PRESSURE OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL, WAIT A FEW SECONDS, THEN PRESS AGAIN TO ACTUALLY MOVE - DANGEROUS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET/TRAFFIC.
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BREAKS ON VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS 12000 MILES ON IT, AND IT JUST QUIT WORKING WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR. THIS RESULTS IN A SAFETY HAZARD AS OWNER COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. I DID A SEARCH ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE NISSANS, AND THE COMPANY MAY HAVE CREATED A NEW PART IT APPEARS.

GEAR SHIFT WHEN IN PARK WON'T GO INTO GEAR
FIRST, MY CAR WOULD HESITATE TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN STARTED. WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR STARTED WITH A JERK AND THE RPM NEEDLE WOULD FLUTTER. NEXT, I WOULD ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND THE CAR WOULD HESITATE TO MOVE. I'D PRESS THE GAS AND GO NOWHERE WITH THE RPM NEEDLE AT ITS MAX THEN SUDDENLY TAKE OFF UNTIL ONE DAY I STARTED THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED IT WAS VALVE AND CVT RELATED. LONG STORY SHORT, I REPAIRED WHAT THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPAIR, $1400 AND 2 DAYS AFTER I PICKED THE CAR UP, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED, JERKING AT COMPLETE STOPS AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 4 DAYS LATER. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WOULD NOT HELP ME EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE HONORED CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. SO MY CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP, AGAIN, 5 DAYS AFTER I PAID $1400 FOR A 4 YEAR OLD CAR THAT HAD BEEN DIAGNOSED ME SENT HOME WITH A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH.
