THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM TO DRIVE SAFELY ON THE ROAD. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AS THERE FAULT. MY ESTIMATE TO FIX THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM IS $1000. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT AND DO NOT FEEL IT SHOULD BE MY COST TO FIX IT.
MY LOW BEAMS ON MY HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY LOW AT NIGHT I CAN BARELY SEE A FOOT AHEAD WHETHER DRIVING ARE PARKED.
I DROVE MY CAR ON FEBRUARY 28 FROM MY GARAGE IN MY HOUSE IN BOLTON, MA TO LEXINGTON MA AT 9 AM. UPON STARTING, I NOTICED A SLIGHT STRANGE SMELL. IT WAS A BIT LIKE OIL OR MAYBE CHEMICAL SMELLS BUT I AM NOT SURE AS I HAD NOT SMELLED THIS BEFORE. I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOWS AS I DROVE TO CLEAR IT AND KEPT AN EYE ON THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE, WHICH WAS NORMAL. AFTER 5 MINS, THE SMELL CLEARED, THE HEAT TEMP WAS NORMAL AND I DROVE FOR ABOUT 40 MINS WHILE TALKING ON MY BLUETOOTH. I PARKED IN FRONT OF GRACE CHAPEL IN LEXINGTON ON THE STREET AND AS I PULLED TO A STOP TO PARK ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH, I NOTICED SOME SMOKE. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE CAR. WITHIN MOMENTS THERE WERE FLAMES AND I CALLED 911 AS I GOT OUT. I HAD ONLY TIME TO GET MY PURSE, MY BAG AND THE FOOD IN THE TRUNK I WAS BRINGING FOR THE PANTRY AND MOVED AWAY. WITHIN 3 MINUTES, IT WAS ENGULFED ABOUT 30% UP TO THE WINDSHIELD AS THE FIRST POLICE ARRIVED. HE MOVED THE CAR PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF MINE, THANK GOD. TWO MINUTES LATER FIREMEN CAME AND ABOUT TWO MINUTES LATER THEY HAD WATER ON THE CAR BUT IT WAS FULLY ENGULFED. THEY WERE ABLE TO KEEP THE DAMAGE TO ONLY AFFECT TWO OTHER CARS PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT NEXT TO THE STREET ACROSS FROM MY CAR, SEPARATED BY A SIDEWALK. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED BY US. NO ACCIDENTS. NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. ALL RECALLS FOLLOWED. I DRIVE NORMALLY. OIL CHANGES ARE DONE REGULARLY. NO MECHANICAL WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON THE CAR. THERE ARE RECALLS ON THE V6 2013 ALTIMAS FOR POSSIBLE FIRE ISSUES. MINE IS A V4. DRIVER'S INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE WHEN IN NORMAL USE. UNABLE TO OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE THE CAR. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS OR FATAL SAFETY ISSUE IF THERE WAS A NEED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. AN ONLINE REVIEW SHOWS BROKEN INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE IS NOT AN UNCOMMON COMPLAINT IN THIS MODEL YEAR CAR. THIS CAR WAS PARKED AND STATIONARY WHEN THE HANDLE BROKE. THE ENGINE WAS OFF. THIS CAR ONLY HAS ABOUT 40K MILES ON IT. THE HANDLE APPARENTLY HAS INFERIOR PLASTIC PARTS IN IT AND SINCE IT CAN BREAK DURING NORMAL USE, IT IS EVEN MORE LIKELY TO BREAK IF SOMEONE WERE PANICKED IN AN EMERGENCY.
FAULTY TRANSMISSION CVT
NHTSA RECALL 16V-244 (R1609) WAS PERFORMED BY DEALER CAPITOL NISSAN IN WILMINGTON NC ON 2/220/17 AND ONLY MADE THE PROBLEM WORSE. THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME THAT THE DEALER HAD ATTEMPTED TO REPROGRAM/ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.
MY BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES WITHIN A SIX-WEEK PERIOD. AFTER EACH REPLACEMENT, SQUEALING AND GRINDING SOUNDS CONTINUED. EACH REPLACEMENT RESULTED IN A UPGRADE OF BRAKE PADS TO TAKE CARE OF THE LOUDNESS OF THE SQUEALS. REPLACEMENT WAS DONE BY THE SAME SHOP. THE SQUEALS AND GRINDING NOISES OCCUR WHENEVER I PUSH THE BRAKES TO STOP OR PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO BACKUP. FOR THE LAST REPLACEMENT OF BRAKE PADS, I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR AT LEAST 100 MILES AND THE SQUEALS AND GRINDS WOULD STOP. THIS HOWEVER NEVER HAPPENED. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE SERVICE SHOP THEY REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH PRO STOP. I WAS TOLD THIS IS THE TOP OF THE LINE IN BRAKE PADS. TO THIS DAY, I STILL EXPERIENCE VERY LOUD SQUEALS AND GRINDING AS IF MY BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE GEAR LOCK NOT ALLOWING ME TO GET OUT OF PARK. I HAVE PUSH TO START AND MY CAR STARTS WITH NO PROBLEMS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE GEARS TO MOVE IS BY PUSHING DOWN THE GEAR RELEASE LOCK. I DO IT HAVE A VIDEO BUT THERE ARE COMPLAINTS OF THI AND VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE!
I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SHUDDERING AND VIBRATION THE CAR HAD A RECALL WITH CVT TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE AFTER I GOT THE CAR BACK THE VIBRATION MADE IT WORSE AND BLUETTOTH BARELY WORKS
TRANSMISSION STARTED SHUDDERING, MAKING LOUD NOISES, AND THEN VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND DIE IN TRAFFIC, VERY DANGEROUS. THE TRANSMISSION EVENTUALLY FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED, TWICE. THE NEW REPLACEMENT FAILED.
I HAD JUST CHECKED THE OIL AND WHAT TYPE OF OIL TO BUY FOR THE CAR, AND EN ROUTE AT A SPEED OF 55, THE HOOD FLEW UP WHILE ACCELERATING TO THE POSTED LIMIT - SHATTERING THE SUNROOF, CRACKING THE WINDSHIELD, WARPING THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT QUARTER PANELS NEAR THE WINDSHIELD, AND DENTING THE HOOD AND ROOF. IT ALSO DISLODGED THE SUNROOF MOTOR AND PULLED PART OF THE ROOF LIGHTING CONSOLE WIRING HARNESS APART. I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF A RECALL BY NISSAN IN EITHER OF THE TWO CAMPAIGNS ON THE HOOD LATCH ISSUE - ONLY BY THE INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR AFTER MY CLAIM.
MY TRANSMISSION JUT STARTED ACTING UP. I CHECK FOR RECALL AND THERE IS A SERVICE CAMPAIGN CALL. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION MY CAR ON HAS 86,000 MILES AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY TROUBLE BEFORE. I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND I THINK NISSAN SHOULD COVER TO REPLACE MINE.

CHANGING GEAR SHIFTER IS GETTING LOCK AFTER PUTTING THE GEAR IN PARK. IT STARTED WITH EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE GETTING STUCK. NOW IT NEVER CHANGES WITHOUT HAVING TO STICK A SCREWDRIVER TO RELEASE THE LOCK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE PROPERLY, WHICH RESULTED IN EXTREMELY LOW VISIBILITY. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULBS MORE THAN ONCE; HOWEVER, THE LIGHTING WAS SO DIM THAT THE FOG LIGHTS AND HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAD TO BE USED AS AN ALTERNATE OPTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBERS: EA15004 (AIR BAGS) AND (RQ15001) AIR BAGS ALONG WITH FOUR UNKNOWN AIR BAG RECALL CAMPAIGNS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. DARCARS NISSAN COLLEGE PARK (9330 BALTIMORE AVE, COLLEGE PARK, MD 20740, (301) 441-8000) WAS NOTIFIED, BUT AN APPOINTMENT WAS NOT SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO TISCHER NISSAN (3510 FORT MEADE RD, LAUREL, MD 20724, (301) 498-3322) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY AIR BAG RECALL CAMPAIGNS. NEITHER DEALER PROVIDED THE GUIDELINES TO INSPECT AND DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE PERTAINING TO THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A HOOD FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE HOOD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD, SUN ROOF, AND SIDE MIRRORS. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A RECALL REPAIR, THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE RECALL DETAILS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,591.
TAKATA RECALL - THE HOOD FLEW UP WHILE BEING DRIVEN
I PURCHASED A USED 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA S 2.5L IN MAY 2016 AND IN JAN 2017 THE TRANSMISSION DIED. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND MY DEALERSHIP FOR ASSISTANCE, AND NO ONE COULD ASSIST ME WITH ANYTHING (PAYING FOR REPAIRS, A DIFFERENT CAR, ETC). MY CAR BARELY ACCELERATED ACROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION AND I COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED. I HAD TO CONTINUE PAYING MY CAR NOTE WHILE GETTING RENTAL CARS/RIDING UBER AND LYFT/ GETTING RIDES, CALLING OUT FROM WORK SOME DAYS, WHILE I WAITED FOR ANY RESPONSE FROM NISSAN, ONLY TO FINALLY RECEIVE A NON-CHALANT, "NISSAN CANNOT OFFER YOU ANY ASSISTANCE AT THIS TIME". I CONTACTED NUMEROUS MECHANICS FOR TRANSMISSION PRICES AND ALL OF THEM TOLD ME THAT OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CAR/YEAR HAD CALLED WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES AS WELL. I CAN SEE ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS SPECIFIC YEAR OF ALTIMA AND NISSAN IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT AND NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE. NOW, ALMOST A YEAR LATER AFTER I GOT THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED, MY ENGINE IS STALLING, I AM HAVING THE INTERMITTENT ACCELERATION ISSUE ONCE AGAIN, AND I WOULD HATE TO FORK OUT $4000 ON YET ANOTHER TRANSMISSION -OR BE WITHOUT A CAR- OR HAVE TO GET A DIFFERENT CAR (WITH A COMPOUNDED LOAN OR A LOWER VALUE CAR). I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED BY THE SITUATION AND LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AFTER HAVING THIS CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUFFER THIS WITH A CAR THAT IS NOT EVEN 3 YEARS OLD. IT IS UNSAFE FOR THESE VEHICLES TO BE ON THE ROAD IF THEY CAN STOP WORKING AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING DURING A COMMUTE AND NISSAN WON'T ADDRESS THE ISSUE OR ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE DESIGNED A FAULTY TRANSMISSION IN THEIR 2013 ALTIMAS.
SINCE OWNING THE ALTIMA. THE TRANSMISSION "SHUTTERS AND VIBRATES THE CAR FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IF THE CAR IS PARKED AND YOU START IT PUT IT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE IT WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND SHUT OFF. IT WILL NOT CAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HOOKED IT UP TO COMPUTER TO FIX AND REPLACED A VALVE TWICE. NISSAN REFUSES TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE NO FAULT CODE IS SHOWING WHEN TAKEN TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP MORE THAN 6 TIMES FOR THIS SINCE OWNING IT. IT HAS SHUT OFF ON THEM BUT NISSAN STILL REFUSES TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION.
SHIFT LOCKS IN PARK LEAVING ME IN A NON-OPERATING SITUATION AT A GAS STATION. LUCKILY I HAD A SCREW DRIVER IN MY GLOVE BOX WAS ABLE TO LOCATE AND PUSH DOWN ON THE "SHIFT RELEASE" BUTTON ALLOWING ME TO MOVE INTO DRIVE. SINCE THE INCIDENT, THE SHIFT CONSISTENTLY LOCKS IN PARK POSITION AND @38K, HAVE SURPASSED THE WARRANTY WITH NISSAN. UNFORTUNATELY NISSAN DOESN'T SELL THE SOLENOID SEPARATELY AND HAD TO PURCHASE THE FULL ASSEMBLY @$451.90 + $250 LABOR. SINCE 1990, I'VE CONSISTENTLY HELD ONTO MY CAR FOR 8 - 10 YEARS AVERAGING 150K MI. PER VEHICLE. I REALLY HOPE THIS FLAGS THE ATTENTION AND FITS THE PROTOCOL OF A RECALL.
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON, ON DASHBOARD. ACQUIRED CAR IN THAT CONDITION FROM CARMAX SOUTHWEST FREEWAY HOUSTON, TX 77074
WHEN I GET INTO MY CAR IT STARTS BUT IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK. INITIALLY I HAD TO TURN MY CAR OFF TURN IT BACK ON THREE OR FOUR TIMES AND SOMETIMES IT STILL WON'T WORK. THIS IS UNSAFE AS YOU CAN BE STRANDED IN COLD OR UNSAFE MEDICAL CONDITIONS. DEALER INSTRUCTED IF GEAR LOCKS UP IN PARK AND WILL NOT MOVE YOU PRESS THE SHIFT OVER RIDE WITH A KEY. THIS IS NOT OBVIOUS AND THE ONLY CAR I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. NOW THIS HAPPENS 100% OF THE TIME. ONLY 38000 MILES ON THE CAR. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
CAR INTERMITTANTLY STALLS AFTER STOPPING AT STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT.
PASSENGER AIR BAG NOT RECOGNIZING WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT. AIRBAG REMAINS OFF EVEN WITH A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THE DEALER HAS LOOKED AT THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY STATE THEY CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE WORKED ON THE SENSORS AND RECALIBRATED THEM BUT THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO GO ON AND OFF AND AIRBAG APPEARS TO BE NONFUNCTIONAL. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND SYSTEM IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED.. LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED
THE OCS PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR IS NO LONGER WORKING. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO MAKE ANY NECESSARY REPAIRS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. NISSAN REP.QUINN, FIRST CLAIM IT WAS DUE TO MILEAGE. THE SECOND CALL, FROM YESTERDAY, SHE STRANDED IT WAS A WARRANTY ISSUE. GIVEN THE CONTINUING ISSUES WITH THE SENSOR, THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND THE LACK OF ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS, IT IS NECESSARY TO REPORT THIS DEFECT TO THE NHTSHA.

THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE TO DETERMINE IF A REPLACEMENT COULD BE PROVIDED. IN ADDITION, THE CENTER CONSOLE WAS UNSTABLE IN THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL/CLUSTER SHORTED SEVERAL TIMES, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN OF WHAT THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT NO LONGER OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES.
I HAVE 31,00 MILES ON MY 2013 ALTIMA WHICH I PURCHASED ABOUT THREE-AND-A-HALF YEARS AGO. I WAS IN MY CAR, AND I TRIED TO GET OUT. I PULLED ON THE DOOR HANDLE AND THE DOOR WOULDN'T HAPPEN. I HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR RUNNING IN MY GARAGE AND OPEN THE WINDOW TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THIS PROBLEM CAN RESULT IN DEATH. IF SOMEONE IS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THEIR WINDOW WON'T ROLL DOWN, THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR, AND COULD GET SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED BY BEING TRAPPED IN THE CAR.

THIS CONDITION "TURNS OFF THE AIR BAG PROTECTION FOR AN ADULT PASSENGER!" (2)THE SEATBELT LIGHT 'INCORRECTLY INDICATES' THAT A PASSENGER IS UNBELTED. ERRONEOUS TEST RESULTS: NISSAN 'TESTS' THIS SAFETY SYSTEM ON EQUIPMENT PROGRAMMED BY NISSAN ' VIA A HUMANLY DEVISED ALGORITHM. IN OTHER WORDS, SINCE THE 'TEST EQUIPMENT' IS PROGRAMMED INCORRECTLY, THE RESULTS WILL BE WRONG. PROOF: NISSAN HAS RECALLED TO REPROGRAM MY VEHICLE 4 TIMES (I THINK) ' A NEW 'TEST' ALGORITHM. ADDITIONALLY, NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE COULD BE A FAULTY COMPONENTS OF THIS SAFETY SYSTEM. IF THE 'TEST' FAILS TO SHOW A SYSTEM FAULT. NISSAN IGNORES THE PROBLEM. NISSAN REFUSES TO REPLACE COMPONENTS OF THIS FAULTY SYSTEM. 2013 ' 2017OCS SYSTEM MALFUNCTION CONTINUES AFTER MULTIPLE REPROGRAMMINGS BY NISSAN. NISSAN HAS NEVER FIXED THIS FAULTY SYSTEM. NISSAN NEEDS TO REPLACE THIS SAFETY SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY!
I HAVE A NISSAN ALTIMA S 2013 AND I FINANCED IT ZERO METER IN SEPT 2013 . YESTERNIGHT MY CAR DIED/SHUTDOWN WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, AFTER STOPPING AT THE STOP LIGHT. I HAD NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED AT MY CAR. I WAS IN FULL STOP AT THE MOMENT AND WAS TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND I JUST HAD A COLD CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN. I COULD NOT MOVE MY CAR, THE CAR SHUTS ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. I TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR, AND IT DID, BUT WHEN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WOULD POWER DOWN AGAIN. I TURNED MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND CALL THE TOW COMPANY AS I WAS NOT FAR FROM MY HOME. UNFORTUNATELY MY CAR HAS 66K MILES WHILE ITS ONLY 3YRS AND 5 MONTHS OLD. MY WARRANTY EXPIRED AFTER DRIVING MY CAR FOR MORE THAN 60K (ONLY 6K MILES OVER). I SUPPOSE THE MAIN ISSUE IS THAT, THERE IS NO WARNING SIGN. THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED AND PUT ME IN DANGER AND OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME. I LOST MY CONFIDENCE ON MY CAR BECAUSE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM POWERED OFF AND IT CAN STOPPED ANYWHERE. THIS IS A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION. IN JANUARY OF 2017 MY CAR HAS STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JERK AND AS HIGHER SPEEDS WERE BEING PURSUED IT HAD DIFFICULTY REACHING IT. MY CAR EVEN COMPLETELY DIED. I TOOK TO A LOCAL SHOP WHO TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS. I DECIDED TO LOOK ONLINE AND SEE IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE PROBLEM. TO MY SURPRISE THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON MY TRANSMISSION THAT WAS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 08, 2016. I WAS NOT AT THIS POINT IN TIME GIVEN A RECALL NOTICE OF ANY SORT. ACTUALLY I NEVER RECEIVED THE NOTICE UNTIL MARCH 13. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DEALERSHIP TO BRING IN. AS I WAS BRINGING IT IN IT WOULDN'T REACH SPEEDS OVER 25 MPH. THE RECALL STATES THAT CONTINUING TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT THE RECALL PERFORMED CAN LEAD TO ACCELERATED WEAR ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN DELIVERED IN THE TIME FRAME NECESSARY, BUT THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NOW DEAD AND WOULD COST ME $4000!!!! NOTE: STILL PAYING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR. SO, ANYWAYS I"VE BEEN SENT THROUGH PHONE LINES AND HUNG UP ON TO NO END. I WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THEM FOR A DIAGNOSIS ON MY TRANSMISSION. I WANTED TO KNOW HOW IT COMPLETELY DIED. THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T DIAGNOSE TRANSMISSIONS THERE. SO I THEN SAID WELL YOU TOLD ME THIS RECALL DID NOT CAUSE MY TRANSMISSION DAMAGE. I SAID SO YOU ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS IN FACT THE PROBLEM. THE GUY AGREED WITH ME! THEY THEN BROKE DOWN AND LET ME HAVE THEIR BOSSES NUMBER WHO APPARENTLY NEVER GIVES THIS NUMBER OUT. I HAD TALKED TO HER PREVIOUSULY AND SHE WAS NO HELP FOR ME. NOT EVEN SYMPATHETIC NOR OFFERING ME A REASON. I ALSO ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THE RECALL. THEY REFUSED. I AM AT A LOSS. ITS BEEN THREE MONTHS WITHOUT MY CAR. I STILL PAY ON IT! I AM DEVASTATED AND DON'T KNOW WHO CAN HELP ME!
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM!! I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON. ONCOMING TRAFFIC NEVER FLASHES THEIR LIGHTS AT ME, SO THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS MUST BE DIM, ALSO. AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR, THE DEALER (D-PATRICK NISSAN, 4200 E DIVISION ST, EVANSVILLE, IN 47715) STATED THAT DUE TO THE RECALL BEING REPAIRED, THE SENSOR FOR THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WOULD NO LONGER WORK PROPERLY. I PURCHASED MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IN 2015. INITIALLY THE HEADLIGHTS WERE FINE AND SEEMED COMPARABLE WITH MY PREVIOUS ALTIMA IT WAS A 2010. OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST FOUR YEARS THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT THEY NO LONGER PROJECT TO THE ROAD. I HAVE REPLACE THE BULBS AND SPENT AN ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNT OF MONEY INVESTING IN HIGH INTENSITY BULBS, WITH NO CHANGE. I WOULD BE BETTER OFF TAPING FLASHLIGHTS TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR, THIS VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THE EVENING. I SEE THAT NISSAN HAS NOT RECOGNIZED THIS AS A RECALL HOWEVER THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AFTER 4 PM UNTIL AT LEAST 7 AM.
The low beam headlights provide extremely low visibility at night. It's like driving with a flashlight to light the road. The problem has progressively gotten worse over the past several years. My 25 year old son drove my car at night and told me he doesn't know how I can even see to drive at night. Last evening I had problems even seeing the road driving in an area where I was not used to driving. This is a huge safety hazard. Replacing the bulbs has not made any difference. I have resulted to having to use my high beams when driving at night which is also a hazard for other drivers on the road. There are no warnings.The lights function they are just extremely dim.

LAST WEEK MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HER 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES HOURS WHEN THE HOOD SUDDENLY FLEW UP AND CRASHED INTO THE WINDSHIELD. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC AROUND AND SHE WAS ABLE TO CLOSE THE HOOD BACK DOWN AND RETURN THE SHORT DISTANCE TO HER HOME. WHEN I INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY I DISCOVERED THAT THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH DID NOT WORK. UPON INVESTIGATION I DISCOVERED THAT NISSAN HAD RECALLS ON THIS MODEL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. I CONTACTED THE NHTSA AND REPORTED THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL REPAIR HAD NOT BEEN DONE AS PER THEIR RECORDS. I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN TO INFORM THEM OF THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL REPAIRS HAD ACTUALLY BEEN COMPLETED EARLIER THIS YEAR BY A NISSAN DEALER IN FLORIDA (WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A CAR LOT IN FLORIDA IN OCTOBER OF 2016). AFTER A DISCUSSION WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER RELATIONS THEY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO ONE OF THEIR LOCAL DEALERS FOR INSPECTION (12/30/16). THEIR INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT THE REPLACED SECONDARY LATCH HAD FAILED THEREFORE ALLOWING THE HOOD TO FLY OPEN. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE. IF THIS HAD BEEN IN TRAFFIC, AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED OR OTHER CONDITIONS SERIOUS INJURIES WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE. GEAR SHIFT IS STUCK IN PARK. USING A PENCIL TO PUSH THE SHIFT RELEASE BUTTON IS THE ONLY WAY TO SHIFT IT INTO GEAR. LOCAL MECHANIC NOTED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH NISSAN ALTIMAS.

ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR KEPT STALLING OUT WHEN I WOULD COME TO A STOP LIGHT, BUT I WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND MOVE ON.
