TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG ON/OFF INDICATOR ILLUMINATED FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,630.
I AM CONTACTING YOU OVER REPEATED ISSUES WITH MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA SL. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT FILED TO NHTSA FOR THIS VEHICLE'S AIRBAG. AS YOU ARE AWARE, A RECALL WAS ISSUED AND HAS BEEN PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE. MY ISSUE IS THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT WON'T ARM THE AIRBAG IF MY WIFE SITS IN THE SEAT. I HAVE MULTIPLE VIDEOS OF THIS ISSUE. MY MOST RECENT VISIT TO MY NISSAN DEALER RESULTED IN THEM STATING THEY COULDN'T FIX ANYTHING AS THEY COULDN'T PULL AN ERROR CODE. THE VERY NEXT DAY, THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN WITH MY WIFE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND AGAIN I RECORDED IT. I OPENED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CORPORATE. AFTER A FRUSTRATING PHONE CALL THIS EVENING, AND A LOT OF AMBITIOUS DOUBLE TALK ON NISSAN'S PART, THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THE ISSUE WAS THAT MY WIFE WAS TOO LITE. MY WIFE WEIGHS BETWEEN 103 AND 108 POUNDS AS SHE FLUCTUATES A BIT. SHE STANDS 5 FOOT 3 INCHES TALL. THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE, DELISA SAID THAT NISSAN DOESN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE UNDER 4 FEET 9 INCHES OR LESS THAN 120 LBS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS WAS NEVER TOLD TO ME TWO YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS LOOKING AT PURCHASING THE CAR, OR THROUGH ANY OF THE 6-8 SERVICE TICKETS I HAVE OPENED REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE DIFFERENT FIXES ATTEMPTED. ( I CAN GET THE EXACT NUMBER AS SOON AS MY DEALER PROVIDES THE REQUESTED INFORMATION.) I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THE CAR KNOWING MY WIFE COULDN'T RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I ASKED FOR THIS IN WRITING FROM THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE BUT SHE SAID SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE THAT. SHE SAID IT WAS ONLY FOR THEIR INTERNAL RECORDS. I PRESSED HER ON THE FACT THAT THEY WERE SAYING MY WIFE COULDN'T SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT. HER REPLY WAS THAT SHE DIDN'T SAY THAT, ONLY THAT NISSAN DOESN'T RECOMMEND SOMEONE LESS THAN 120 POUNDS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE CONTACTED BY THE NHTSA TO CLARIFY WHAT NISSAN IS SAYING AND IF IT IS ACCURATE?
I BROUGHT MY CAR TO ROYAL PALM NISSAN FOR A RECALL ON THE HOOD LATCH AND TOLD THEM TO CHECK THE OCS LIGHT THAT WENT ON INTERMITTENTLY EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A PASSENGER SEATED. THIS WAS BEFORE THE RECALL NOTICE. I RECEIVED THE OCS RECALL AND WENT TO CORAL 'SPRINGS NISSAN. I RETURNED A WEEK LATER BECAUSE THE LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR 17 MINUTES A FEW DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER. I WAS TOLD IT COULD NOT BE CHECKED BECAUSE THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON THEN. IF THE LIGHT GOES ON INTERMITTENTLY, THEN MY PASSENGER IS NOT SAFE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT AS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. WHAT CAN BE DONE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. AFTER THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE PER AN AIR BAG RECALL ON JUNE 28, 2016, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON JULY 20, 2016 TO RESET THE WARNING LIGHT, BUT THE DEALER REFUSED WITHOUT PAYMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. DEALERSHIP FOUND RIGHT FRONT AXLE COMING OUT OF TRANSMISSION. RETAINER BRACKET LOOSE. R&R AXLE AND BRACKET. COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM OR ACCIDENT AND WE ARE LUCKY THIS PROBLEM WAS FOUND BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENED.. IS THERE RECALL ON AXLES?. I'M NOT SURE THIS CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE PROGRESSING FROM THE REAR BRAKES, WHICH WORSENED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO ENSURE THAT THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE DEALER COMPLETED A MULTI-POINT INSPECTION, OIL CHANGE, RESURFACED THE ROTORS, AND REPLACED THE REAR BRAKE PADS. THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 08/04/17*LJ *CN
SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR IN EARLY 2015 I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING: OCCASIONALLY THE CAR ALARM WILL SOUND / LIGHTS WILL FLASH EITHER BY MANUALLY PRESSING THE BUTTON ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, PASSENGERS DOOR OR THE TRUNK LID (WITH KEY FOB IN POCKET OR IN HAND) THIS ISSUE ALSO OCCURS USING EITHER ONE OF MY FACTORY KEY FOBS UNLOCK BUTTONS (BOTH WITH NEW BATTERIES INSTALLED BY THE DEALER). BY PRESSING THE FOBS UNLOCK BUTTON AGAIN OR PRESSING THE DOOR BUTTON AGAIN A SECOND TIME, THE ALARM TURNS OFF AND THE DOOR UNLOCKS. I HAVE HAD THIS IN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. I AM TOLD EACH TIME THAT NISSAN WILL NOT AUTHORIZE SERVICE UNLESS THEY SEE IT HAPPEN OR SOME CODE IS STORED. WHY WON'T NISSAN UPPER LEVEL TECHNICIANS BECOME INVOLVED WITH THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE UNDERCOVER SEPARATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH. THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE BOLTS USED TO SECURE THE ENGINE COVER WERE MADE OF DEFECTIVE PLASTIC, WHICH FAILED TO SECURE THE COVER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE ENGINE UNDERCOVER WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
HEADLIGHT DON'T WORK AS THEY SHOULD THERE TO DARK I NEED TO PUT MY HIGH BEAMS TO SEE A LIL BETTER
I JUST HAD A RECALL PERFORMED ON MY CAR FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR. NOW, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS EMPTY. THIS CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT BECAUSE IT INTERFERES WITH PERIPHERAL VISION BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS SO BRIGHT. I COMPLAINED TO MY DEALER, BUT THEY SAY THERE IS NO FIX FOR IT. SO WHAT DO I DO, NOT DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT ? THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL WAS ORDERED BY THE NHTSA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL ABRUPTLY AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT LUNGED FORWARD AND COMPLETELY DETACHED. THE CONTACT'S FACE STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN INJURIES. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SEAT WAS NOT BOLTED TO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG OFF WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHERE THE OCS SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. IN ADDITION, OTHER UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,092.
THERE WAS RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE NHTSA RECALL 16V-244. IT WAS ABOUT THE OCS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CREST NISSAN OF FRISCO 6600 STATE HWY 121, FRISCO, TX 75034 ON 14 JUNE 2016. ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE GIVEN TO ME BY THE DEALER THE OCS UNIT WAS REPROGRAMMED. ON 9 AUG 16 I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER BECAUSE THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON CONTINUOUSLY. BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT AT CREST NISSAN OF FRISCO TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, THIS LIGHT IS SUPPOSED TO STAY ON UNLESS THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT . OWNER'S MANUAL ON PAGE 1-57 CLEARLY MENTIONS THAT " IF THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON AFTER APPROXIMATELY 7 SECONDS, UNDER THIS CONDITION, THE FRONT AIR BAG, SIDE AIR BAG AND CURTAIN AIR BAG OR PRETENSIONER SYSTEMS MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY". THE DEALER HAS NOT ONLY FAILED TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM BUT ALSO LIED TO ME ABOUT THIS TECHNICAL AND A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS PROBLEM. IT COULD MEAN THAT THE FRONT AIR BAG, SIDE AIR BAG, CURTAIN AIR BAG AND/OR PRETENSIONER SYSTEMS WILL NOT OPERATE IN AN ACCIDENT.
EXTREMELY HESITANT TRANSMISSION UP SHIFTING WHEN PULLING OUT FROM STOP LIGHT, STOP SIGN ETC. OCCURS IN CITY OR HIGHWAY TRAVEL. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 65K MILES. NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ACTIVATED.
RECEIVED THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 UPDATE FOR OCS ERROR ON PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAD SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT REGARDING THIS AFTER NISSAN'S PREVIOUS UPDATE DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. AFTER 2 MONTHS OF USE I AM SEEING THAT WHEN MY WIFE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT NOTIFYING ME THAT THERE IS NO PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT STAYS ON STILL. I CAN 'RESET' BY TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING IT BUT CAN NOT BE POSITIVE THAT THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY 'SEEING' THE PASSENGER. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY BIG ISSUE WITH NISSAN AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT RESOLVED. I HAVE NOT TALKED WITH THEM SINCE WHEN I DO THE ANSWER I'VE PREVIOUSLY GOTTEN IS "WE'VE COMPLETED THE UPDATE AND DON'T KNOW WHY IT'S NOT WORKING FOR YOU" BRING IT IN AND WE'LL LOOK - TO NO AVAIL. SO I PREFER NOT TO LET THEM PLAY AROUND SINCE RESETTING THE COMPUTER DOES NOTHING.

THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EVIDENT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000 MILES.I'M HAVING A HARD TIME KEEPING THE CAR IN MY LANE OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR WAS PULLING HARD TO THE LEFT, REQUIRING ME TO STEER TO THE RIGHT .. CAR NEEDS TO BE CONSTANTLY CORRECTED TO STAY INSIDE THE LANE EVEN WHEN DRIVING STRAIGH. IF YOU ARE IN A CROSSWIND OR BEHIND A TRUCK, THE VEHICLE DRIFTS HORRIBLY TOO. YOU MUST HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP CORRECTING TO STAY IN YOUR LANE! I TOOK MY CAR TO DO AN ALIGNMENT TWO TIMES AND STILL THE SAME I CHANGE TIRES AND RIMS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM THERE IS ALOT OF COMPLAINS ON THE INTERNET WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
TWO COMPLAINTS: ONE: THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY AND RANDOMLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THE PLUG UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS LOOSE. THEY "FIXED IT". THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND IS CURRENTLY DOING IT AGAIN, BUT IT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF MILEAGE AND THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN, YET HAS REOCCURRED REGULARLY SINCE NEW. TWO: WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NEAR A COMPLETE STOP, THE PEDAL BECOMES "SOFT" FOR ABOUT A HALF SECOND, THE CAR STOPS DECELERATING FOR THAT HALF SECOND THEN CONTINUES TO STOP NORMALLY, THEREAFTER. EACH TIME I MENTION THIS AT A SERVICE INTERVAL AT THE DEALER, THEY SAY THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT. NOTHING IS NOTED ON MY INVOICE AND NOTHING IS MENTIONED WHEN THE CAR IS PICKED UP. IT IS UNSETTLING AND IT CAUSES THE CAR TO STOP SEVERAL FEET FURTHER THAN IF THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN.

The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that an appointment could not be scheduled due to the pandemic. The contact stated that upon contacting the dealer later, the dealer informed the contact that the warranty extension had expired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure had worsened. The contact stated that he had installed an additional light bar on the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
FIRST THIS CAR ONLY HAS 11,000 MILES ON. WE GOT THE BATTERY CHANGE ON IT LAST YEAR. BUT SOME REASON THE BATTERY KEEPS ON DYING ON US. SATURDAY MAY 7TH THE CAR WAS WORKING FINE AND WE STOP TO GO FOOD SHOPPING COME BACK OUT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. WE HAD THIS CHECK OUT LAST YEAR AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. BUT THERE IS SOMETHING GOING WITH THIS CAR TO ACT UP THIS WAY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL ECONOMY DISPLAY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DID NOT DISPLAY THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WAS INCORRECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.

CRACKED 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA WINDSHIELD. PARKED IN DRIVEWAY UNDER A CARPORT.CRACK STARTED FROM WHERE THE HOOD MEETS MIDDLE WINDSHIELD. FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF SPONTANEOUS CRACKING OF WINDSHIELDS. WHEN I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE, NHTSA RECALL 16V-029, I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP, SUNTRUP NISSAN, TO HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED. AT THE APPOINTMENT, SUNTRUP NISSAN TOLD ME THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT, AND WOULD CALL ME WHEN IT WAS AVAILABLE. WELL, IT HAS BEEN QUITE A WHILE, AND THEY HAVE NEVER CALLED ME. THEN, I EMAILED THE SERVICE MANAGER, AND HE NEVER RESPONDED. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.
I EXPERIENCED A GRINDING, SHAKING NOISE AT 2.0 RPM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND THAT WAS WHEN ALL OF MY TROUBLES BEGAN. THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND JERK WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. THERE WAS NOW A VIBRATION AT 1.5 RPM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT A BELT WAS LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME AND IT STILL WAS NOT DRIVING SMOOTHLY AND NOW THE ENTIRE GEAR CONSOLE WAS LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FROM EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE UPON STARTING, EVEN WHEN THE GEAR SHIFT WAS MOVED. IT WOULD TAKE TWO TRIES EACH TIME TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WENT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE GEAR CONSOLE WAS ADJUSTED. HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE - VEHICLE NOT MOVING WHEN GEAR PLACED IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. THIS WEEKEND (4/30/16) I DROVE THE VEHICLE IN VIRGINIA AND HAD TO NAVIGATE SEVERAL HIGH ELEVATIONS WHILE ON THE I-81 HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH AT BEST, DRAGGING AND THE GEARS WOULD NOT CHANGE. THE CAR WAS RACING LOUDLY TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE SPEED, RPM WAS UP AT 3.5 AND THE CAR WAS AT 50 MLES; SPEED LIMIT WAS 70. ONCE I CLEARED THE HILL THE RPMS LEVELED OUT TO 1.5 AND THE CAR HELD THE 70 MPH SPEED. NOTE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PERFORMING THIS WAY BEFORE THE "NEW TRANSMISSION" WAS INSTALLED. I DID HAVE THE GRINDING AND RACING NOISE AT 2.0 RPM, BUT NO HESITATION, JERKING OR ANY DIFFICULTIES IN HIGHER ELEVATIONS. THAT LEADS ME TO CONCLUDE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE OTHER THAN THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ALSO LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHOM I AM AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM ON MY COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 18,694 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST OF 2014.

DRIVING 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA IN TOWN GOING ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY WE HEAR A LOUD BANG AND EVERYTHING GOES BLACK. THE HOOD HAD FLOWN OPEN WHILE DRIVING. HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT THE VERY BOTTOM THROUGH WINDSHIELD TO PULL OVER SAFELY. HOWEVER, ONCE HE PULLED OVER TO CLOSE THE HOOD, THERE WAS A LOT OF DAMAGE TO THE HOOD. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT RIGHT NOW SINCE THIS HAPPENED.
I KEEP GETTING A KEY ID INCORRECT OR KEY ID UNDETECTABLE WHEN I TRY TO START THE CAR. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY IN THE KEY FOB AND THE SAME ISSUES ARISE. I HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE CAR DOOR AT LEAST 10 TIMES BEFORE I CAN GET THE CAR TO START. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD AS I MIGHT GET STRANDED SOMEWHERE IF I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND IT DOESN'T START. I AM GETTING REALLY TIRED OF THIS ISSUE AND HOPEFULLY A RECALL OR SOME TYPE OF FIX WILL COME FROM NISSAN. THIS ISSUES ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND YOU TRY TO START THE VEHICLE.

MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE JUST GOTTEN SUPER DIM THAT I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND OVER TIME THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT PROJECTION DIMMED OVER TIME THAT I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I REPLACED THE BULB AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. I THEN UPGRADED TO LED LIGHTING AND THE LIGHTING PROJECTION IS STILL TO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I MENTIONED IT TO MY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND CALLED NISSAN TO REPORT THIS AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS MATTER. MY CAR HAS 72,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR OVER 2 YEARS. HEADLIGHTS DON'T LIGHT UP NO MORE THAN 15 FT WHICH IS NO GOOD WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH.

HEADLIGHTS ARE USELESS ON LOW BEAM. IT'S LIKE DRIVING WITH FLASHLIGHTS TAPED TO THE CAR. DRIVING AT NIGHT IS VERY DANGEROUS. A SEARCH ON INTERNET REVEALS PAGES OF NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. WHY IS NISSAN NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT?
LOWBEAMS DO NOT HELP AT NIGHT. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. NISSAN NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS WHICH WENT BAD WITHIN 2 YEARS OF USE.
Low beams are extremely dim, truly making this vehicle unsafe to drive at night and at night while raining and seems the only way to correct is to replace with the same projector lights which are still defective.
