BRAKE JUDDER FROM FRONT BRAKES.[XXX]. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS EPISODES LIKE THIS "BAD ABS, I THINK, ON ARMADA". EVERYTHING GOES WELL AND AM TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED OR PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING AND STEP ON THE BRAKES AND HEAR A TERRIBLE GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE BRAKES IN ADDITION TO A SPRING LIKE SOUND AND A SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN BRAKING POWER. THIS CONTINUES UNTIL I PULL OFF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND THEN START IT BACK UP AND THE BRAKES WORK FINE. THIS HAS HAPPEN 8-10 TIMES SINCE MAY 2014. IT DID HAPPEN COUPLE OF TIME WHEN I WAS TRAVELING WITH 20-30 MPH AND I COME TO STOP, CAUSING GROANING, BANGING NOISES AND FEEL SPONGY.THIS STARTED HAPPENING IN THE SAME WEEK OR SO AFTER I HAD BRAKE WORK DONE BY DEALER. I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO DEALER TO REPLACE ROTOR AND PADS. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN BEFORE THAT TIME. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DEALER IN JULY AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY RESET THE MODULE AND SUGGESTED TO REPLACE THE BOOSTER IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I RAN THE SCANNER TO SEE ERROR CODE C1179, DELTA STROKE SENSOR. THE BRAKE, SLIP AND VDC OFF LIGHT COME ON AT ONCE. LOSE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE. PEDAL GOES ALMOST TO FLOOR WITH NOISE LIKE THE ABS IS ON, GRINDING SOUND SHUDDERING HAPPENS. TURN OFF AND TURN ON VEHICLE, ISSUE GOES AWAY FOR ANYWHERE FROM A DAY TO A FEW WEEK THEN HAPPENS AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED ON MOSTLY DRY SMOOTH PAVEMENT. IT COULD HAPPEN FEW TIMES A DAY OR FEW TIMES A WEEK AND SOMETIMES NOT FOR WEEKS. I AM VERY AFRAID TO DRIVE BECAUSE LUCKILY IT HAD HAPPENED EVERY TIME I WAS 20 MPH OR BELOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT IN TO LIMP MODE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR LEAKED IN TO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
I RECENTLY LEARNED OF THE SAFETY RECALL 10V-074 THAT DESCRIBED THE EXACT SITUATION I ENCOUNTERED IN 2014. I WAS DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY AT 70 MPH WHEN ENGINE DIED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, BUT WAS BETWEEN AN ON RAMP AND OFF RAMP--VERY DANGEROUS. FUEL GAUGE SHOWED 1/3 OF A TANK. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ADDED A COUPLE GALLONS OF GAS. I WAS ABLE TO START AND DRIVE TO DEALER. NO RECALLS WERE IDENTIFIED FOR MY VIN AT THE TIME SO I WAS CHARGED NEARLY $1000 TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP/SENDER. I AM BRINGING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE I HAVE SO FAR BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN NEGOTIATING REIMBURSEMENT FROM NISSAN. BASED ON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS I SEE ON YOUR WEBSITE, I BELIEVE A NON-VIN SPECIFIC SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN MUST BE INITIATED BECAUSE THIS PROBLEM WILL MOST LIKELY CONTINUE SINCE THESE VEHICLES CAN LAST A LONG TIME--MY ARMADA HAD 154,000 MILES ON IT AT THAT TIME.
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAS GAUGE SAID THAT I HAD A QUARTER OF A TANK OF GAS WHEN IN REALITY I WAS ON EMPTY. I HAD GONE TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTERS FRIEND WHEN IT RAN OUT OF GAS. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME IS HAS HAPPENED. ONCE WAS ON A HIGHWAY IN ANOTHER CITY NEAR MY HOME. I CAN'T TRUST IT. WHENEVER I GET TO HALF OF A TANK, I PUT MORE FUEL IN JUST IN CASE BECAUSE THE TRUCK WILL STOP WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHEN THIS HAPPENS. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WE WERE LEFT STRANDED ON 2 OCCASIONS (3/11/14 AND 4/22/14) BECAUSE THE FUEL DISPLAY READ AT LEAST 1/4 TANK OF GAS WHEN, IN FACT, WE FOUND THE TANK WAS EMPTY. ONCE IN THE MIDDLE OF A WINDY ROAD ON A BAD CURVE, THE OTHER IN A PARKING LOT. WHILE PULLING MY CAR TRAILER WITH A LOADED CAR ON THE TRAILER THE BRAKES ON THE ARMADA STOPPED WORKING. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES STARTED PULSATING REALLY FAST TO THE POINT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO SERVE AROUND THE CAN IN FRONT OF ME AND I RAN THE RED LIGHT. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS SUV HAS DONE THIS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHICH STATED THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER DELTA SENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 5TH GEAR AT SPEED AND UPON STOPPING AND SHUTTING THE VEHICAL OFF THE TRANSMISSION WAS PERCEIVED TO BE IN 4TH GEAR FOR APPROX. 30 MILES TILL OUR DESTINATION WAS ACHIEVE. WHEN ARRIVED THE FLUID WAS AT OPERATING LEVEL AND OF VISUAL CHECK NO LOOSE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS WHERE FOUND. AFTER SITTING FIR 15 MIN VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND TRANSMISSION PROPERLY WENT THOUGH 1ST - 4TH GEARS PROPERLY WITH 5TH GEAR STILL MALFUNCTIONING BY MAKING A LOUD ROARING NOISE AND ENGINE SPEED ACCELERATING WITH THE ROARING GETTING LOADER AS ENGINE SPEED INCREASED.

WHILE DRIVING, THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND WHEN I TRY TO BRAKE, THE BRAKES MAKE A GRINDING/GROANING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT BRAKE PROPERLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. IT IS ALWAYS SPORADIC. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF, SOMETHING RESETS AND IT WON'T DO IT AGAIN. SO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME AND IT AFFECTS THE BRAKES WORKING. IF THERE IS A CRASH IN THE FUTURE, IT WILL BE THE FAULT OF NISSAN BECAUSE I AM DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING, INCLUDING THIS SAFETY COMPLAINT. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, AS I TRIED TO BRAKE MY BRAKES FAILED AND THE FOOT PETAL HIT THE FLOOR MAKING A LOUD SHUTTERING SOUND. SUDDENLY MY BRAKES KICKED BACK IN BUT CONTINUED TO MAKE LOUD SOUNDS. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN I TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON THE LIGHT RESET AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I AM TERRIFIED. I HAVE TAKEN MY ARMADA TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY BELIEVE ITS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE C1179 "DELTA STROKE SENSOR" BUT HAVE DONE NOTHING TO HELP ME. PLEASE HELP! *TR

DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I STARTED TO HEAR A METAL ON METAL SQUEALING NOISE. MY PARKING BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE THINKING I HAD FORGOTTEN TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE. HOWEVER, IT DIDN'T WORK. AFTER DRIVING AGAIN I COULDN'T USE THE BRAKES SO I CALLED THE TOW AND WENT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP I WAS USING BEFORE. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACEMENT. THIS WAS ALMOST $1000! I ASKED IF IT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD YES AND THAT I NEEDED TO FIX IT BEFORE IT CAUSED A FATALITY. OF COURSE THIS SCARED ME AND I TOLD THEM TO FIX WHATEVER WAS NEEDED. TWENTY-TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS LATER AND A FEW MONTHS AND I'M LOOKING AT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENING AGAIN. WHEN I NOTIFIED NISSAN THEY HAVE BEEN TOO "BUSY" AND SAID TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. UM, EXCUSE ME I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR! THE NONCHALANT ATTITUDE, COUPLED WITH THE SUBPAR RESOLUTION, HAS ME FURIOUS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY OR THINK. I FEEL HELPLESS. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE, IT'S COMPLETELY PAID OFF AND I DON'T HAVE ROOM TO GET ANOTHER ONE. I'M WITH THE OTHER POSTS HERE THAT NISSAN SHOULD VALUE OUR PATRONAGE AND LOOK INTO A FIX FOR THIS. VEHICLE STARTED FINE AS USUAL, BUT AS WE WERE TAKING OFF TO DRIVE OUT DRIVEWAY. THE ENGINE STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART EVEN THOUGH STARTER WAS TURNING. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS SHOWING A QUARTER OF A TANK FUEL LEVEL. I CALLED NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID IT MAY BE FUEL SENDING UNIT. PUT ABOUT 4 GALLONS OF GAS IN GAS TANK AND ENGINE STARTED, BUT STILL SHOWED QUARTER OF A TANK ON FUEL GAUGE. THE FUEL TANK WAS EVIDENTLY EMPTY EVEN THOUGH GAUGE WAS SHOWING IT HAD FUEL IN TANK. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. NISSAN DEALER SAYS OUR VEHICLE VIN IS NOT IN THE RECALL, BUT IT IS EVIDENT THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALLED VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR
I WAS IN A SCHOOL ZONE PICKING UP MY DAYCARE KIDS. AS SOON AS I TOOK OFF THE PARKING BRAKE AND PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE IT SHOWED THE BRAKE LIGHT ON. CONFUSED I CHECKED EVERYTHING AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HOME. AS I REACHED THE STOP SIGN WITH A CROSSING GUARD ESCORTING KIDS ACROSS I REALLY HAD TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKE AND A LOUD CRUNCHING LIKE METAL TO METAL AND SHAKING OCCURRED. IT SCARED THE DAY LIGHTS OUT OF ME! I TURNED THE CORNER PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE TOOK A DEEP BREATH. I TOOK THE STREETS HOME AND DROVE VERY SLOW PRAYING THAT WHEN I WOULD COME TO A STOP SIGN THAT MY BRAKES WOULD WORK. I GET TO MY OTHER STOP TO PICK UP MY CHILD FROM HER BUS STOP. COMING TO THE STOP STILL HAVE ALL THE GRINDING NOISE AND PRAYING IT WILL STOP. I TURNED OFF MY CAR AND WAITED FOR THE BUS. I WAIT FOR ALL THE KIDS TO CROSS AND COMPLETELY CLEAR THE AREA. I STARED MY CAR AND WHAT I COULDN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I CAME HOME CALLED MY HUSBAND HE CALLED THE DEALER AND I BEGAN TO RESEARCH. TO MY DISBELIEF THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE CODE:C1179 DELTA SENSOR AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. MOST PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF PURCHASE A LARGE VEHICLE BECAUSE WE HAVE MULTIPLE PEOPLE TO DRIVE AROUND, LIKE MY KIDS I WATCH RANGING FROM 1-12YRS. THIS FLOORS ME! I WAS AT A CROSS WALK WHEN THIS HAPPENED WITH KIDS CROSSING WHAT IF I COULDN'T STOP I WOULD OF HIT THE KIDS!!!! WHAT IF I CRASHED I HAD THREE OTHER KIDS THAT I WATCHED IN THE CAR WITH ME. IT IS DISGUSTING TO ME THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS!! TO MY FEAR SOMETHING WILL FATALLY HAPPEN FOR YOU GUYS TO DO SOMETHING. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY STEER OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON BECAUSE MY FUEL GAUGE SAID I STILL HAD 1/4 TANK LEFT OF GAS. THIS COULD'VE BEEN FAR MORE DANGEROUS IF I WOULD'VE RUN OUT OF GAS ON A FREEWAY OR HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL FOR THE FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY, BUT WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID MY VIN DIDN'T MATCH THE RECALL.
I HAVE BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE LOUD EXHAUST NOISE AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS OF THIS EXACT PROBLEM ONLINE. I HAVE JUST FAILED MY STATE SAFETY INSPECTION IN MISSOURI AND FOUND OUT THAT THE LOUD NOISE WAS BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURER DEFECT ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. BOTH ARE BROKEN IN THE SAME PLACE. NISSAN IS UNWILLING TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE FROM THE START.I BELIEVE IT IS UNETHICAL FOR NISSAN TO KNOWINGLY NOT OFFER REPLACEMENTS. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITH THE SIMILAR INCIDENT IN JUNE 2013. WHILE DRIVING, BRAKE LIGHTS UP ON THE DASH BOARD. EMERGENCY BRAKE NOT ENGAGED. WE EXITED THE FREEWAY RIGHT AWAY. LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN BRAKES IS APPLIED. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. IT TOOK AWHILE TO COMPLETELY STOP.THANK GOD. WE TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART AND THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD IS GONE AND BRAKE IS FINE AGAIN. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING 65 MPH DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WITH. AS I APPROACHED A CURVE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. I HAPPENED TO BE IN THE FAR LEFT LANE, AND WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO A NARROW SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. BY THE TIME I GOT STOPPED, I WAS SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE CONCRETE HIGHWAY DIVIDER AND THE FAST LANE OF TRAFFIC. HIGHWAY ASSISTANCE, AAA AND MY FATHER CAME TO MY ASSISTANCE. MY FATHER THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL, WHICH I DISPUTED BECAUSE THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR DID NOT ILLUMINATE, AND THE GAUGE WAS AT 1/4 TANK. IT TURNED OUT I WAS OUT OF GAS. I STOPPED RELYING ON THE GAUGE, AND STARTED FILLING UP AS SOON AS THE GAUGE HIT 1/4. LATER, I RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN THE GAUGE READ 1/2 TANK! OK. TIME TO GET THIS REPAIRED. THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY YEAR ARMADA, FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. GREAT! ONCE I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, THEY SAID THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDER WAS VIN SPECIFIC. MY MOTHER RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE THAT THE PART SHOULD BE COVERED. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO PROVIDE AN OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS FOR CORRESPONDENCE WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE, AND TO NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIRS, AS I EXPECTED THIS TO BE COVERED. IN A SUBSEQUENT CALL TO CUSTOMER CARE WITH THE "BAD FUEL SENDER" DIAGNOSIS, I WAS TOLD I DID NOT MEET THE "HISTORY OF GOODWILL PARAMETERS", SO MY REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED. I DECIDED NOT TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD ME THERE WAS $250 OF LABOR TO DISMANTLE THE CAR JUST TO DIAGNOSE, AND IT WOULD BE $250 MORE TO PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER TO WHERE IT WOULD BE DRIVABLE! SINCE THE FUEL SENDER REPAIR WAS QUOTED AT $800, I RELUCTANTLY WENT AHEAD WITH THE REPAIR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. SOMEONE COULD DIE. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXITMATELY 50,000.

CRUNCHING SOUND, BRAKE LIGHT AND ONLY WENT AWAY WHEN I TURNED THE ARMADA COMPLETELY OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ONLINE IT APPEARS THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS ARMADA, MY WIFE DRIVES TO WORK EVERY DAY BACK AND FORTH. ON SATURDAY MORNING AT 845AM AT A LAUNDRY PLACE MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED. NEXT THING WE HEAR A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM OUTSIDE THE LAUNDRYMAT PLACE.. MY VEHICLE WAS SMOKING FROM THE HOOD TOWARD THE DASH BOARD AND THEN I COULD NOT EVEN OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE KEY OR THE ALARM BUTTON..SO A FRIEND BROKE THE DRIVER WINDOW AND THEN TRIED TO STOP THE FIRE FROM SPREADING BUT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL..I TRIED TO GET MY BELONGS BUT EITHER. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN MAINTAIN IN GOOD SERVICE AT THE NISSAN DEALER. I ONLY HAD IT FOR APROX 1YR NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR UNTIL THAT DAY FOR SOME REASON I DON'T KNOW IT CAUGHT ON FIRE.. I THINK THESE VEHICLE NEED TO BE CHECK OUT..CAUSE MAYBE IF MY KIDS WHERE INSIDE I BELIEVE THEY WOULD HAVE SOME BURN SCARS ON THEM ,BECAUSE THE STUPID DOOR COULD NOT BE OPEN WITH THE OR THE ALARM KEY...*TR
