TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AS THE PEDAL ABNORMALLY TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE ONLY DECELERATED AFTER AN EXTENDED TIME FRAME. THE FAILURE RECURRED ELEVEN SUBSEQUENT TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT NO CAUSE FOR FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE INACCURATELY DISPLAYED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FUEL ALTHOUGH THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SENDER UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF THIRD GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE DEALER NOTICED RADIATOR FLUID MIXING WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID WHICH CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,500. UPDATED 04/30/13*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED HER HUSBAND NOTICED THE GEARS WERE NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND SOON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE NEXT DAY, THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE INSPECTION REVEALED THE VALVE BODY WAS BAD AND THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING FLUID INTO THE TRANSMISSION. UPDATED 05/08/13
PROBLEM WITH CAR ACCELERATING SPONTANEOUSLY WHEN BRAKE BOOSTER SENSOR FAILS AT RANDOM TIMES. INITIAL PROBLEM WITH BRAKE PEDDLE GOING SOFT AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM GETS ACTIVATED WHEN BRAKING TRYING TO DO STANDARD BRAKING. THE BRAKE LIGHT TURNS ON, THE PEDDLE GOES TO THE FLOOR, BRAKES ARE NOT NORMAL AND VERY TOUCHY AND THE CAR SHUDDERS VICIOUSLY TO A STOP WHILE. LOUD NOISE IS SCARY WHILE BRAKES NOT FIRING IN THE USUAL PEDDLE POSITION AND FEEL LIKE MUSH. NOW IN JANUARY A NEW SITUATION STARTED OCCURRING WHEN THE BRAKE BOOSTER WOULD FAIL IS THAT THE ARMADA WOULD ALSO ACCELERATE THE ENGINE ON PRESSING THE BRAKE. I WENT TO STOP MY ARMADA'S AND THE ENGINE SURGED ITS RPMS WHILE THE ANTI-LOCK RELAYS WERE FIRING. I STOOD ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE WITH MY EVERY MUSCLE IN MY BODY TO TRY TO GET THE NISSAN ARMADA TO STOP. I COULD NOT SHIFT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL BECAUSE THE SHIFTING LOCK SEEMED TO ENGAGED. I ENDED UP TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND WAS ABLE TO STOP. I CALLED NISSAN AMERICA TO REPORT THIS ISSUE. ALSO STOPPED BY THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE MANAGE INFORMED ME THAT THE BRAKING ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE DELTA SENSOR IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND WAS A KNOW ISSUE BUT THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HEARD ABOUT THE SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT LOW SPEED AND THAT HE ONLY HAD HEARD ABOUT THE SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT HIGHER SPEEDS. HE SAID THIS WAS CAUSED ALSO BY THE DELTA SENSOR IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I THINK I UNDERSTOOD HIM IN SAYING THAT WHEN THIS SENSOR FAILS IT ALLOWS THE BOOSTER TO INJECT AIR INTO THE INTAKE THAT CAUSES THE CAR TO ACCELERATE. I REPLACED MY BRAKE BOOSTER YESTERDAY TO FIND TODAY THAT MY ARMADA HAS THE SAME DEADLY ISSUE! PLEASE HAVE NISSAN FIX THIS KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, HE HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANTI-FREEZE WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT RELEASE & CONTINUES TO BE TEMPERAMENTAL. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF EVER NEEDING TO RELEASE THE REAR HATCH IN AN EMERGENCY, SUCH AS IN A LIFE SAFETY INCIDENT DURING A FIRE OR ACCIDENT, THE REAR HAD CONTINUALLY FAILS ALONG WITH THE GLASS RELEASE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NOT READ ACCURATELY. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH DUE TO THE FUEL GAUGE READING THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE VEHICLE AND THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE DEALER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS CLOSED DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,160. ...UPDATED 12/03/12*BF THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUAGE BROKE ONCE IN 2007. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER WAS REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS UNDER RECALL IN 2010. THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE IN 2012. UPDATED 12/5/2012 *JS
WARNING LIGHT FOR AIRBAGS STARTED BLINKING. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN COLLEGE STATION TX. THE DEALER RAN A COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC. WAS TOLD THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WOULD NOT ACTIVATE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, THE "HARNESS" FROM THE AIRBAG TO THE COMPUTER CONTROLLER HAD TO BE REPLACE FOR $500+. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED A "NUMBER" OF THESE AIRBAG HARNESSES. I HAVE NOT YET REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. THE WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO BLINK; AND MY PASSENGERS ARE AT SEVERE SAFETY RISK IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE RESULTING FROM A DESIGN FLAW. *TR
AIR BAG DEFAULT WARNING ON INSTRUMENT PANEL. 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. DEALER SAYS AIR BAGS WILL NOT WORK UNLESS AN INTERIOR HARNESS FROM AIRBAG/SEAT WEIGHT CUSHION/COMPUTER IS REPLACED. DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE REPLACED "A BUNCH" OF THEM ON NISSAN ARMADAS. COST IS $459 AND AIR BAGS WON'T WORK UNTIL IT IS REPLACED. DEALER SAYS NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A SAFETY/WARRANTY CAMPAIGN ON THIS FAULTY ITEM. DEALER IS "DOUGLAS NISSAN" IN COLLEGE STATION TX. *TR
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IN INSTRUMENT PANEL CAME ON. I TOOK THE ARMADA TO DOUGLASS NISSAN IN COLLEGE STATION, TX. A "COMPUTER" CHECK WAS RUN, AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT ACTIVATE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT WITH THE ARMADA, AND TO CORRECT THIS, A "HARNESS" THAT GOES FROM THE PASSENGER SEATBELTS/SEAT WEIGHT BAG TO THE AIRBAGS SERVING THIS AREA HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $459. THE SERVICE REP ADVISED ME THAT "A NUMBER" OF NISSAN'S VEHICLES HAVE HAD TO BE "REPAIRED" TO FIX THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A SAFETY CAMPAIGN OF ANY KIND FOR THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD NO. I AM 71 YEARS OLD, HAVE OWNED A NUMBER OF AUTOMOBILES, AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT HAD THE REPAIR MADE, BECAUSE OF THE COST ($459 + THE $50 I HAVE ALREADY PAID TO RUN THE COMPUTER CHECK). SURELY THERE IS A SAFETY CAMPAIGN ON NISSAN'S FAULTY AIRBAGS???? *TR
I WAS COMING UP TO A STOP LIGHT, GOING ROUGHLY 40 MPH, AND STARTED APPLYING THE BRAKES, AS THE LIGHTS WERE CHANGING, AND I FELT THE BRAKE PEDAL GO "SOFT" AND DROP NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD THE BRAKE, ABS, AND SLIP LIGHTS LIGHT UP ON MY DASH. I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE ARMADA TO A CONTROLLED STOP BEFORE GOING INTO THE INTERSECTION, BUT TO DO SO I HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND IT WAS AS IF THERE WAS A MINISCULE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE BEING APPLIED TO THE BRAKES. ONCE STOPPED I SHIFTED INTO PARK, TURNED OFF THE TRUCK, WAITED A FEW MOMENTS, AND TURNED THE TRUCK ON AGAIN. THE BRAKE, ABS, AND SLIP LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUED TO FEEL EXTREMELY SOFT. I HAD TO KEEP IT FULL DEPRESSED AGAINST THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO STAY STOPPED. WHEN THE STOP LIGHTS TURNED GREEN, I PULLED OFF THE ROAD- OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC- AND REPEATED THE PROCEDURE ABOVE THAT I PERFORMED AT THE STOP LIGHT. THE BRAKE, ABS AND SLIP LIGHTS CONTINUED TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES MADE A GRINDING SOUND WHENEVER THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE GRINDING NOISE WOULD CEISED AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS FAILING AND THE DELTA BOOSTER SENSOR INSIDE THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NEW BRAKES PADS AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
ON THE LISTED DATE ABOVE OUR FAMILY WAS ON EN ROUTE TO OUR VACATION DESTINATION, TRAVELING IN OUR ARMADA WITH CAMPER IN TOW. WHILE GOING THRU THE MOUNTAINS IN VIRGINIA WE HAD LOST ALL POWER TO OUR TRANSMISSION CAUSING US TO PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE EXPRESSWAY. AFTER SOME TIME WE WHERE FINALLY ABLE TO GET TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP IN COVINGTON. AS SOON AS THE SERVICE MANAGER LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE HE NEW EXACTLY WHAT HAD HAPPENED. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE TAIL PIPE HAD DISCONNECTED FROM THE MUFFLER AND THAT THE HOT EXHAUST BURNED UP THE WIRE HARNESS THAT CONTROLLED ALL THE POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS THEY HAD SEEN AND FIXED 4 TO 5 TIMES AT THIS DEALERSHIP. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE PIPING FROM THE MUFFLER SOME HOW ERODED AWAY AND DISCONNECTED ALLOWING THE EXHAUST TO BURN UP THE WIRE HARNESS, AS WELL AS THE HOSE THAT SUPPLIES THE COMPRESSED AIR TO THE AIR SHOCKS. THIS TO ME IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. FORTUNATELY WE WERE IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE AND NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE NEAR TO CAUSE A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT. WE WERE ABLE TO GET OVER SAFELY ALTHOUGH WE HAD LOST ALL TRANSMISSION POWER GOING UP THIS MOUNTAIN. NOT SURE IF ANYBODY ELSE HAS REPORTED THIS SAFETY ISSUE. BUT NISSAN MUST KNOW ABOUT IT BASED ON THE SERVICE MANAGER SEEING THIS THAT MANY TIMES. WHY WOULD ONE HAVE YOUR ELECTRIC WIRING RUNNING SO CLOSE TO A POTENTIAL HOT SOURCE THAT COULD DISABLE YOUR VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING? I RECENTLY WAS TALKING TO A COWORKER WHO HAS A 2004 ARMADA AND TOLD HIM ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO US. HE HAD SAID THAT HE JUST HAD HIS TAIL PIPE WELDED BACK ON BUT HAD IT DONE AT A MUFFLER SHOP SO THIS WAS NOT DOCUMENTED AT A DEALERSHIP. HE HAD SAID THAT HE COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING BUT HE HAD NO OTHER ISSUES. HE WAS LUCKY AND HE MAY WANT TO CHECK IT OUT BECAUSE OF THE EXPERIENCE THAT I HAD. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE I FEEL IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD, THE BRAKELIGHT COMES ON. WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THERE IS NOT THE SAME AMOUNT OF BRAKING PRESSURE AND THE ABS STARTS SOUNDING OFF, CREATING A LOT OF NOISE. THE BRAKE FEEL BECOMES OVERLY GRABBY AND INCONSISTENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES TO ME PERSONALLY AS WELL AS MY WIFE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND THEN TURNED BACK ON IT SEEMS TO RESET AND WORK AS NORMAL, UNTIL IT DOES IT AGAIN. PLEASE HELP! THIS HAD RECENTLY HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 1 WEEK. THIS HAS OCCURRED 2 YEARS AGO. I WENT TO THE DEALER. THEY REPROGRAMMED SOMETHING AND HAS BEEN GOOD FOR A WHILE, BUT NOW IT IS BACK. I TOOK VEHICLE IN TO SERVICE ON JULY 9TH 2012 IS PART OF A TSB TO HAVE THE COMPUTER FLASHED OR UPDATED. DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM, IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY. THIS IS BECOMING A SERIOUS AND LIFE THREATENING ISSUE WITH BRAKE FAILURE ON THIS NISSAN ARMADA. *TR
MY BRAKES FAILED TWICE IN MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA W/55K MILES. THE FIRST TIME, MY BRAKES FAILED TO STOP ME AT AN INTERSECTION, WITH A NEAR MISS COLLISION. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON & THERE WAS A HORRIBLE GRINDING SOUND, THE BRAKE PEDAL PULSATED & I HAD TO TAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO ATTEMPT TO STOP MY VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES? THE LIGHT NO LONGER CAME ON AND THE SOUND WAS GONE. APPROX 3 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. DRIVING 35 MPH I STARTED TO BRAKE AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I DROVE HOME AND PARKED IT, GOT BACK IN THE VEHICLE TO CHECK IT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS OFF & THE SOUND WAS GONE, BRAKES STILL FELT DIFFERENT HOWEVER. THE NEXT MORNING, I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, SAW A BUNCH OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. I CALLED NISSAN DIRECTLY & OPENED A CASE. MADE AN APPT AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. AFTER INSPECTION THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY BRAKE BOOSTER & IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED & IT COST $975. I CALLED NISSAN TO LET THEM KNOW THE COST & ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE SINCE IT WAS A DEFECTIVE PART. I WAS INFORMED TO NOT PICK UP MY VEHICLE UNTIL I HEARD FROM THEM. I HAD RENTED A CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP. NISSAN TOOK 5 DAYS TO RESPOND & CALLED AT 5:30PM TO SAY SORRY WE DECIDED NOT TO HELP. SO NOT ONLY DID I PAY FOR THE PART, REPROGRAMMING & SERVICE, I ALSO HAD TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL AS WELL! THEY DENIED ME FOR TWO REASONS, MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY & I DID NOT HAVE IT SERVICED AT A DEALERSHIP. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! BECAUSE OF THAT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN EVER AGAIN! AND I LOVE MY CAR... THEY NEED TO OWN THE PROBLEM! PEOPLE ARE AT RISK BECAUSE OF FAULTY PROGRAMMING AND PARTS. THEY WILL PROBABLY WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY TAKE ANY ACTION! *JS

THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING TODAY, THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. IT'S SCARY BECAUSE YOU CAN'T STOP LIKE NORMAL. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I PULL OVER, TURN MY CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN AND IT CLEARS IT. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM FROM ONLINE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ AND NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SHOULDER AND POWERED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE POWER BOOSTER SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. SIMILAR TO OTHER OWNER COMPLAINTS, I WAS DRIVING OUR 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AND ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I COULD NOT STOP FOR THE RED LIGHT SO I DROPPED IT DOWN INTO 4TH GEAR AND MADE A HARD RIGHT TURN ABOUT 25 MPH. THANKFULLY THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC SO NO ACCIDENT AND NO ONE WAS HURT. I DROVE THE REMAINING TWO MILES HOMES AT 25 MPH AND WITHOUT USING THE BRAKES UNTIL I GOT TO MY DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED VERY LIGHT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND LITTLE NOISE BUT NOT MUCH STOPPING POWER, THANKFULLY MY DRIVEWAY IS UPHILL. WHEN I GOT HOME I LOOKED UP ARMADA BRAKE FAILURE AND REALIZED THAT THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF POSTS DATING BACK TO 2004, SO THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND COMPUTER. *JS
MY 05 ARMADA HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE SENOR LIGHT COMING ON AND THE ABS SYSTEM START ACTING ERRATIC, VIBRATION UNDER DASH AND PEDAL MOVING BACK AND FORTH THE BRAKES LOCK UP AND START MAKING GRINDING SOUND AND IS HARD TO CONTROL. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY (50MPH) RED BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON DASH AND WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, GRINDING NOISE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN AND PEDAL PRESSURE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN AN INTERSTATE WITH MY WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN AT 75 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STALLED AND DIED. POWER STEERING WAS LOST AND THE VEHICLE QUICKLY DECELERATED. IN THE MEANTIME MY WIFE LOOKED ON SOME MESSAGE BOARDS AND PEOPLE REPORTED A FUEL TANK PROBLEM ON THE ARMADAS, WHERE THE FUEL GUAGE SHOWS THERE IS 1/4 OF A TANK OF GAS WHEN IN REALITY IT IS EMPTY. WE PUT SOME GAS IN THE TANK AND IT STARTED UP. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE ECM RELAY RECALL, BUT SAID THE FUEL SWITCH (NHTSA # 10V07400) WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I BELIEVE OUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE A PART OF THIS RECALL AND NISSAN SHOULD REIMBURSE US FOR THESE REPAIR COSTS. *JS

SAME ISSUE EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING SPONGY BRAKES WHEN PRESSED NOT STOPPING, LOUD GRINDING NOISE, MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AROUND 20 MPH, I NEEDED TO BRAKE AND NOTICE AN UNUSUAL NOISE. THIS NOISE SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM THE BRAKE BOOSTER. IN ADDITION, IT SOUNDED LIKE THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING. I NOTICE THAT THE BRAKE LAMP FROM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS ON. DRIVING SLOWLY, I REPEATED THE BRAKING AND IT WOULD DO THE SAME. SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN OFF THE TRUCK. I TURNED THE TRUCK BACK ON AND THE BRAKE LAMP IS NOW GONE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITH NO PROBLEM. THIS HAS OCCURRED TO ME AT LEAST 5 TIMES. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID NOT SEE ANY FAULT CODE. DID A SEARCH ON THE WEB AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. WAS INSTRUCTED TO SEEK FURTHER ASSISTANCE AND DIAGNOSIS FROM DEALER OR REPAIR SHOP OF MY CHOICE. DECLINED TO REPAIR & SERVICE MY VEHICLE REGARDING MY COMPLAINT. FURTHER RESEARCH ON MY PART HAS FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY NISSAN ARMADA VEHICLES THAT DO NOT FALL UNDER THE NISSAN RECALL UMBRELLA, WITH NISSAN DECLINING TO ADDRESS OR REPAIR THOSE VEHICLES AS WELL. NISSAN REFUSES TO RESEARCH INTO THESE COMPLAINTS WITH A BLANKET DENIAL THAT THESE VEHICLES DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR 'DETERMINED' LIST OF VEHICLE AFFECTED WITH THIS ISSUE. 2005 NISSAN ARMADA 4/22/09 AIRBAG LIGHT ON, AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER REPLACED FRONT SEAT HARNESS LEFT HAND SIDE UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO RECALL. 12/10/10 AIRBAG LIGHT ON AGAIN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER REPLACED FRONT HARNESS RIGHT SIDE AND AIRBAG HARNESS. 7/15/201 AIRBAG LIGHT ON AGAIN AUTHORIZED DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE US $1200 TO REPLACE ENTIRE HARNESS SYSTEM NOT RELATED TO THE OTHER 2 RECALLS THEY CANNOT PASS US FOR THE STATE INSPECTION OR GUARANTEE THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT OR THAT THE SEAT BELTS WILL WORK PROPERLY. SERVICE MANAGER TRIES TO GET MY SUPPLEMENTAL WARRANTY TO COVER THE REPAIRS AND THAT IS DENIED. WHY DOES THIS PROBLEM OCCUR SO OFTEN IN SO MANY INSTANCES WITH REPAIR AFTER REPAIR AND NOTHING EVER CORRECTS THE PROBLEM . IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ON THE VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF NISSAN TO GUARANTEE OUR SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DRIVE AS IS WE CANNOT AFFORD THIS REPAIR AND BASED ON EVERYONE ELSES EXPERIENCE IT WILL NOT BE COMPLETELY FIXED ANYHOW. *TT
ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS STARTING JULY 2011 AND ENDING MARCH 2015, THE BRAKES FAILED AFTER VDC/ABS/SLIP WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. ON ONE OF THE OCCASIONS, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE RESISTANCE. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP CAUSING IT TO GO THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION AND JUST MISSED BEING STRUCK BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. SPENT OVER $2000.00 IN REPAIRS AND THE PROBLEMS PERSIST. I NO LONGER FEEL SAVE IN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND FINALLY SOLD IT AT A LOST. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
BRAKES ON 2005 ARMADA WENT OUT AND STARTED TO GRIND AND STICK, COULD NOT DUPLICATE AFTER RE STARTING VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND I CANNOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE ON CUE. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE THE DAY IT WAS DRIVEN OFF OF THE DEALERS LOT. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE NEVER KNOWING WHEN BRAKES WILL FAIL AND I HAVE TO FIND A PLACE TO STOP TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF TO RESET THE VEHICLE. LISTEN NISSAN SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT FIXING THIS PROBLEM! *TR

I HAVE NOTICED THE AIR COMPRESSOR RUNNING INTERMITTENTLY, ALWAYS TRYING TO PUT AIR IN THE SYSTEM. WENT ON A 200 MILE TRIP AND THE CAR FEELS VERY UNSAFE AT 70 MPH. VERY NERVOUS DRIVE ESPECIALLY AROUND CORNERS. WILL DEFINITIVELY NOT TOW LIKE THIS. *TR
MY BRAKES LOCK UP ON MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE RATTLES AND THE FRONT PART MAKES A NOISE AS IF IT IS BREAKING APART. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THE BRAKE PEDAL LOCKS AND SPRINGS BACK. I TURN THE TRUCK OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THE ISSUE GOES AWAY. OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *TR
