The frame has excessive rust causing weakness in the trucks support. Furthermore causing driveline vibration issues and eventually the cab and bed will snap at the weak point. Seems to be the same issue the Nissan Navaras have that were built in Spain and the manufacturer has recongnized the issue outside of the U.S.
WHILE REPLACING THE TRUCK BED FOR RUST WE DISCOVERED THE FRAME IS RUSTED ALMOST IN HALF IN MULTIPLE SPOTS. FRAME WAS NOT SPRAYED TO PREVENT RUST. SPAYED TO PREVENT RUST IN THE PICTURES WAS DONE BY US.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH WHEN THE TAILGATE BECAME DETACHED FROM THE HINGES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
'07 NISSAN FRONTIER SE CC POOR DESIGN OR DEFECTIVE WELD. TAILGATE HINGE (RT. SIDE) STARTED COMING APART LAST WEEK, THEN COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE DRIVING. TAILGATE DROPPED OPEN, LANDED ON BROKEN PIECE, BENDING CORNER OF TAILGATE. WILL SEEK RESOLUTION (NEW HINGE+BODYWORK) TOMORROW. NO ACCIDENT. *TR
