I took my truck in to a dealership to fix the airbag recall. I do not believe they fixed it because the airbag light is still on on my dash board. It is the only light on as this truck is low miles and regularly maintained.. I asked them and they just said, "we fixed it." However, they did not.
I have had this issue for years and unable to fix it. My solution was not to drive my truck in snowy weather. The first incident was I was driving down hill around with snow that barely started to stick. I driving around 65mph when my truck started to buck. I slowed to 30mph and my truck was still bucking. It did not stop until the weather warmed. By the next storm I was traveling around 60mph in light snow and my truck slid. I slowed to 50mph and when going uphill my truck lost control. It felt like the brakes locked. I tired to get control without pressing the brakes that did not work and when I did press the brakes it felt like my petal was already pushed down. I shifted the truck to gain control. Since then I have never drove that truck above 35 mph in snow. After a few weeks of bad weather the truck would either buck or just not move. The truck finally throw a code saying the right rear wheel speed sensor had a weak connection. I took the truck to three mechanics were they found nothing wrong and could not mimic my issue. I replaced my speed sensor myself. I was able drive the truck in snow without it bucking but the truck would still lock up the brakes and slide. I just never drove fast enough that the slide wasn't serious. After years the truck stopped driving in the snow period again. I took it to a local mechanic and a nissan dealership. Both said the connection were fine to everything but they were able to lock the brakes. I was told by both that it was the abs module and the part was on back order. I called to different dealerships and multiple told me that people have waited for 6 plus months on this part. It took me years of being car-less every winter to figure out what was wrong and to get told the part was on back order. Based on my research is this isn't uncommon. I won't be shocked if there hasn't been car accidents from this. My vehical is dangerous and I have no way to fix it before next winter.

Air bag light on and blinking I replace the crash sensor on the front of the truck and steel blinking
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to Waxahachie Nissan (W Highway, 1900 US-287 BYP, Waxahachie, TX 75167), where the previous diagnostic test result was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.
Radiator failure leaking into tranny, causing a sound coming from transmission as if driving over a rumble strips when accelerating between 40-60mph, as well as sudden jerking when changing gears. SMOD residue (creamy pink fluid) present on radiator cap. This is a known issue that I was never made aware of during nor after purchase. Obviously this was not addressed prior to the sale by the Nissan Dealership. No warning signs were present prior to the issue appearing. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer yet as I am only now learning of this problem, however I have made arrangements. The issue is confirmed by third parties. Vehicle is available for further inspection upon request. The issue first appeared about 2 weeks ago but symptoms were milder and progressively became more noticeable. Sudden transmission failure on the highway could be catastrophic and is part of my daily driving routine.
I HAVE TROUBLE SHOT THE AIRBAG LIGHT I HAVE THAT HAS BEEN BLINKING FOR A WEEK NOW. I CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT. I HAVE NOTICED MANY POSTS ON FORUMS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I DO NOT HAVE A RECALL. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE TRUCK IDLES ROUGH, I HAVE ALSO SEEN MANY FORUMS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS WELL.
TRANSMISSION FAILED, @ 133 THOUSAND MILES. COOLANT MADE ITS WAY INTO THE TRANSMISSION.
VEHICLE WON'T SHIFT RIGHT. WAS ON HIGHWAY WHEN IT WOULDN'T GO VERY FAST OR SHIFT. ONLY 5 MILES FROM HOME, I TOOK IT HOME AND CHECKED THE RADIATOR CAP, IT IS FULL OF PINK FROTHY ANTI FREEZE AND OIL. (MILKSHAKE)
AT 130,000 MILES WE STARTED TO NOTICE TRANSMISSION ISSUES SUCH AS SLIPPING AND AT 40 MPH, A VIBRATION LIKE YOU WAS RUNNING ON THE RUBBLE STRIPS ON THE HIGHWAY. TOOK TO THE GARAGE AND THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO BAD TIRES. PAID OVER $500 FOR NEW TIRES, PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. WAS TOLD SINCE NO ENGINE CODE, THEY HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE SLIPPING GOT SO BAD, CLEARING A INTERSECTION OR PULLING OUT INTO MOVING TRAFFIC BECAME DANGEROUS. FRUSTRATED WITH DEALER BS AND OTHER GARAGE BS. I YOUTUBED IT. SAW A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR VIDEO. CHECKED MY ANTIFREEZE AND TRANSMISSION OIL TO FIND THEM BOTH MILKY. MY TRUCK IS 9 YEARS OLD AND THE RADIATOR FAILED. THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WAS AT STAKE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO WORK AS WE WAITED FOR ANTIFREEZE TO POWER OUR TRANSMISSION AND WATCHED OUR ENGINES OVERHEAT AS IT WAS NOW COOLED WITH OIL. 100% SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL, 1000% SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST A WARNING TO CUSTOMERS OF THE RISK TO OUR SAFETY. I`LL NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN, OR RECOMMEND OTHER TO DO SO. AT 100,000, BOTH REAR LEAF SPRINGS BROKE. TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN USED TO HAUL HEAVY LOADS TO CAUSE THIS FAILURE. ON TOP OF THAT, THE STEERING RADIUS REALLY SUCKS. A THREE POINT TUN IN THIS TRUCK IS REALLY A 21 POINT TURN.
STARTED MY NISSAN UP AND NOTICED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON, NO ONE SITTING IN THE PASSAGER SEAT, IT BLINKS OFF AND ON ALL THE TIME NOW. I TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE PASSAGER SEAT SENSOR IS BAD TO FIX IT IS GOING TO COST 2900.00. I DROVE IT THE DAY BEFORE AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE
VEHICLE HAS FLASHING AIR BAG LIGHT ON. DEALER TELLS ME THE FIX COSTS $2,500 DOLLARS TO REPAIR! THE VEHICLE HAS 59,757 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE PROBLEM IS A WEIGHT SEAT SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO FLASH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE ROOF ROLL OVER (TAKATA AIR BAG SENSOR''?.)

THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO PALM SPRINGS NISSAN (68177 KYLE RD, CATHEDRAL CITY, CA 92234) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY COMPLAINT IS THAT MY VEHICLE IS TURNING OFF WITH A BRAND NEWLY INSTALLED BATTERY AND MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP CANNOT READ MY CAR TO UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. THEY KEPT MY VEHICLE FOR CLOSE TO A MONTH AND STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE NEVER FAILS TO TURN OVER, BUT IT JUST LOSES POWER AND TURNS OFF LIKE SOMEONE SNATCHED OUT THE BATTERY. SOMETIMES IT FAILS TO TURN OVER, RIGHT AWAY, BUT THEN IT TURNS OVER AND I CAN DRIVE IT A FEW MILES BEFORE IT STALLS ON ME AGAIN, EVEN WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE 64,500 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE BABIED IT SINCE I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW IN 12/2009. THE SLIP LIGHT COMES ON AND THE O/D LIGHT FLASHES AND THEN THE VEHICLE GETS CONFUSED AND SHUTS OFF. IT IS ANNOYING. IT FEELS LIKE A BATTERY ISSUE AND MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP CHANGED WHAT THEY CALLED A FAULTY POSITIVE TERMINAL HOOK-UP BUT I STILL HAVE THIS ISSUE WHERE MY VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY POWERED. I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY START THE VEHICLE BACK UP AND BARELY MAKE IT HOME. I WAS NEVER IN A CRASH, BUT I DID HIT THE BOTTOM OF MY VEHICLE ON AN ABUTMENT THAT WAS IN A AUTOMOTIVE PARKING LOT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 3MPH. BUT THIS HAPPENED IN 2014 DECEMBER AND I HAD THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT AND DROVE IT FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

REAR LEAF SPRING CRACKED & ONE HALF OF ONE SECTION FELL OFF OF VECHILE WHILE DRIVING.
CENSOR FOR PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF, NISSAN DEALER SAYS IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM, VEHICLE ONLY HAD 73K/MILES. IT HAS BEEN TO DEALER SHIP TWICE.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT A CRASH OR IMPACT AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND CRASHED INTO A FENCE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH LEGS, CHEST, AND NECK. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. FAULTY RADIATOR CAUSES COOLANT TO LEAK INTO TRANSMISSION FLUID.
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS NOT IN THE ON POSITION (LIGHT STAYS ON) WHEN SMALL STATURE FEMALE IS SITTING IN SEAT; SHE TRIED VARIOUS POSITIONS TO ACTIVATE IT (TURN OFF LIGHT) BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL; IT APPEARS THAT THE SENSORS ARE NOT SENSITIVE ENOUGH TO PICK UP THE WEIGHT OF A PERSON UNDER 125 TO 130 POUNDS; VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND STATIONARY
On October 29, 2016 my airbag light came on and stayed on. Took it to Jenkins Nissan of Leesburg FL. They charged me $95.00 to check the problem, then said it would be $800.00 to replace the module but if that didn’t work the next thing they could try would be $1,000.00, but they could not guarantee that it would fix the problem. Then my tire pressure light came on and stayed on about 3 years ago…same scenario with Jenkins Nissan… you pay us, but no guarantee that they can fix it. Then my horn stopped working about a year ago. Same scenario with Jenkins Nissan. I took my truck to another mechanic, everything is fixed for one price. The problem with everything was evidently connected. These issues in my opinion are safety hazards and should be recalled.
RADIATOR FLUID LEEKS INTO TRANSMISSION AND RUINS THE TRANSMISSION
ENGINE IDLES TOO LOW: ENGINE IDLES AT APPROXIMATELY 600 RPMS, WHEN AC KICKS IN IDLE DROPS TO 500 RPMS OR LESS CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHUTTER AND SHAKE AS IF IT IS GOING TO STALL. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER FOR RESET, BUT VEHICLE STILL IDLES AT AROUND 600 RPM. VEHICLE SPECS STATE VEHICLE SHOULD IDLE AT 650 RPM +OR- 50 RPMS FOR V6 ENGINE. THIS IS TOO LOW WHEN AC IS TURNED ON.
MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTERNALLY -BRAKE PETAL GOING CLOSE TO THE FLOOR.
VEHICLE WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY CLEANED THE BATTERY POSTS. REPLACED BATTERY. VEHICLE STILL SHOWED RESISTANCE BEFORE SLOWLY CRANKING. VIBRATION OF RPM AND SPEEDOMETER NEEDLES. CLEANED THE POSTS AGAIN, NOW MOTOR WILL HARDLY TURN OVER, NUMEROUS LIGHTS ON DASH FLASH INTERMITANTLY.
TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLIPPING. HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, STOP SIGN...WHEN TIME TO GO CAR DOES NOT MOVE. COMPLAINED TO NISSAN DEALER IN 2014 AND THEY SUGGESTED CHANGING THE FLUID...COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. FLUID WAS CHANGED AND I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. WILL BE TAKING IT TO ANOTHER DEALER THIS WEEK. I UNDERSTAND NISSAN HAS HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION AS I HAD A 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. NISSAN WOULD NOT COMPENSATE ME AS MY MILEAGE WAS 100+K. WHEN I TREADED IN MY 2005 FOR A 2010 I WAS ASSURED THAT NISSAN HAD FIXED THE DEFECT. HERE WE GO AGAIN...I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!
THE RECALL FOR AIRBAGS IT WAS INCOMPLETE AND NISSAN REFUSE TO COMPLETED
AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY STAYS ON, ACCORDING TO MANUAL IT MEANS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH AIR BAG DEPLOYING IN A ACCIDENT, CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS AND THEY WANT $125.00 TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. TO ME THIS SHOULD BE CORRECTED FOR FREE BECAUSE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

WHILE PULLING OUT FROM A PARKING SPOT IN REVERSE, THE CONTACT'S FOOT BECAME STUCK NEAR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SURGE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED TO 80 MPH. THE CONTACT HAD EXTREME DIFFICULTY GETTING HIS FOOT RELEASED FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND INTO SHOPPING CARTS WHICH THEN CRASHED INTO A THIRD VEHICLE. THE DRIVER AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED WHIP LASH, BACK PAINS AND MINOR BRUISING. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE IGNITION WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL VIBRATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO PART STORE WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE AN ELECTRICAL CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN FRONTIER. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,537.
ON DECEMBER 7, 2013, I BEGAN TO HEAR A GRINDING NOISE WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES. I PHONED THE NEAREST AND WAS GIVEN A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR THURSDAY DECEMBER 12TH. I WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $18.95 FOR A BRAKE INSPECTION, IF MY VEHICLE WARRANTY NO LONGER COVERED THE REPAIR. ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11TH, I WAS TOLD TO DO AN INSPECTION IN CASE THERE WAS A STONE OR PIECE OF GRAVEL WHICH COULD EASILY BE REMOVED WITHOUT A REPAIR SERVICE BY NISSAN. I REMOVED THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND NOTICED THAT THE OUTSIDE BRAKE PAD LOOKED ALMOST NEW, BUT THE INSIDE BRAKE PAD WAS TOTALLY GROUND DOWN TO THE METAL BACKING PLATE. NISSAN SAID THE FRONT BRAKES WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND THAT REPAIR WOULD COST ME $189.95. ON DECEMBER 12TH, I DROVE MY 2010 NISSAN FRONTIER TO MODERN NISSAN AT 9:00 AM. MY BROTHER HAD FOLLOWED ME IN HIS VEHICLE TO MAKE SURE I ARRIVED THERE SAFELY. AROUND 10:30 AM, I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM MODERN NISSAN AND I WAS TOLD THAT BOTH FRONT-INSIDE BRAKE PADS WERE WORN METAL-TO-METAL AND THE BRAKE ROTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED WITH THE NEW BRAKE PADS. HE SAID MY ESTIMATE WAS NOW $289.95. AROUND 1:30 PM, I WAS GIVEN MY FINAL BILL AND IT TOTALED $354.91. I WAS VERY UPSET AT HAVING TO PAY FOR NEW BRAKE PARTS WITH ONLY 9,323 VEHICLE MILES. I HAVE (TWO) 2-CAR GARAGES AND MY TRUCK HAD NEVER BEEN PARKED OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT SINCE I PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2010. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE CALIPERS WERE FOUND TO HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IMPROPERLY, BECAUSE THE BRAKE FLUID LINES WERE TWISTED BACKWARDS. I INFORMED THEM THE WHEELS & LUG NUTS HAD NEVER BEEN REMOVED UNTIL I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BEFORE BRINGING MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE REPAIRS. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON A NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE.
THE REAR AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN AT NISSAN FOR THIS ISSUE. SO THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID IS LEAKING ON THE REAR BRAKES. THIS WILL CAUSE REAR BRAKE FAILURE. I THINK THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS CASES OF THIS PROBLEM. NISSAN BEST TO MY KNOWLEDGE WILL ONLY TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE IF THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY MADE A LOUD CLANKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT THE U-JOINTS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AFTER HAVING THE U-JOINTS REPLACED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE TRANSFER CASE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000. RK
AFTER DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE TO EXIT A PARKING LOT AND WAITING FOR AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC ON A BUSY FOUR-LANE ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 50 MPH, I HIT THE GAS TO ACCELERATE INTO AN OPENING AND NOTHING HAPPENED, NO FORWARD MOTION. AND THERE HAVE BEEN SUBSEQUENT INCIDENTS; ONE INVOLVED TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY STREET FROM A STOP SIGN. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE; WHEN THE DRIVE TRAIN IS UNRESPONSIVE IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES, PEOPLE COULD BE INJURED OR KILLED. TODAY, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TO HAVE THIS ANOMALY CHECKED OUT. THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THE RADIATOR CRACKED, LEAKED COOLANT INTO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND BOTH MUST BE REPLACED. THIS IS BEING DONE AT NO COST TO ME, AS THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR CRACKING FOR WHICH NISSAN HAS INCREASED THE WARRANTY TO 8 YEARS OR 80,000 MILES. HOWEVER, THE WARRANTY NOTIFICATION DOESN'T MENTION THE TRANSMISSION MAY BE COMPROMISED, STATING ONLY, "IN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, A CRACK IN THE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY MIGHT OCCUR AT HIGHER MILEAGES LEADING TO INTERNAL LEAKAGE OF ENGINE COOLANT." MY VEHICLE IS FOUR YEARS OLD AND JUST HIT 12,000 MILES. *TR
WHEN THE LOW FUEL GAUGE LIGHT CAME ON MY DAUGHTER PUT $40.00 IN GAS. HOWEVER THE GAUGE ONLY SHOWED 1/4 OF AT TANK (@$3.40 PER GAL) I THOUGHT IT WAS A PROBLEM AT THE GAS STATION PUMP. THE NEXT MORNING I STOPPED TO PUT GAS IN THE TANK FEARING I WOULD RUN OUT. I PUT AN ADDITIONAL $25.00 AND THE GAUGE NEVER MOVED. BEING A 2010 VEHICLE, THIS SHOULD NOT OF HAPPENED. *TR
NOTICED E-BRAKE NO LONGER HOLDING. TOOK TO LOCAL SHOP. TOLD ME NEED NEW E-BRAKE PADS AND REAR AXLE BEARINGS, SEALS. APPARENTLY BEARING SEALS FAILED AND GEAR OIL SATURATED BRAKE PADS. TOOK TO DEALER TO FIX BEARINGS AND SEALS UNDER WARRANTY (THOUGH THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT THAT WAS A DIRECT RESULT). A LITTLE ONLINE SEARCH REVEALS THE BEARING PROBLEM COMMON ON FRONTIERS, A RESULT OF IMPROPER AXLE VENTING. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RETROFIT PART THAT NISSAN SOLD TO ADDRESS THIS THAT HAS SINCE BEEN PULLED FROM THE PARTS OFFERING. *TR
DRIVING ON HWY ELECTRICAL CONTROLS STOPPED. SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER,TACHOMETER,FUEL GAUGE STOPPED RESPONDING AND DROPPED TO ZERO OR FROZE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN. EVENTUALLY THEY COME BACK ON LINE, BUT DURING THAT TIME YOU MUST DEPEND ON OTHER DRIVERS TO KEEP AT SAFE/LEGAL SPEEDS AND REMEMBER HOW MUCH GAS WAS IN THE TANK WHEN YOU STARTED DRIVING. *TR

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN ON THE IGNITION ALL THE DASHBOARD NEEDLE INDICATORS BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE FROM THE IGNITION. AFTER I REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, THE DASHBOARD NEEDLES CONTINUE TO VIBRATE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. I HOOKED UP A PORTABLE BATTERY CHARGER TO THE BATTERY TO ATTEMPT A JUMP START, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND THE BATTERY CHARGER INDICATED A "BATTERY CHARGED" DISPLAY. HAVING HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN JUNE 2011, WHICH I TOOK TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, BUT DID REMOVE THE BATTERY FOR TESTING. I DISCONNECTED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE, WAITED A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THEN RECONNECTED THE NEGATIVE CABLE AND THE WAS ABLE TO ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, AS THERE WAS ABOUT A FOUR MONTH PERIOD BETWEEN INCIDENTS. *TR
I PUT MY 2010 NISSAN FRONTIER TRUCK INTO FOUR WHEEL LOW TO BACK MY CAMPER INTO ITS PARKING AREA. THE PARKING AREA IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF A SLIGHT INCLINE. AFTER BACKING THE CAMPER INTO POSITION I PLACED THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND LEFT IT RUNNING WHILE I SECURED THE CAMPER BY PLACING CHOCKS BEHIND ITS WHEELS AND PUTTING A FOUNDATION FOR THE JACK. I REMOVED THE SAFETY CHAINS AND THE HITCH LOCK FROM THE CAMPER AND JACKED IT UP. AS THE HITCH CAME OFF THE TRUCK BALL THE TRUCK BEGAN TO ROLL DOWN THE HILL FREELY. I WAS UNABLE TO CATCH IT BEFORE IT STRUCK THINGS IN ITS PATH AND FINALLY CAME TO REST HITTING A TREE. THE TRUCK WAS STILL IN PARK BUT THE INDICATOR FOR THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND VDC WAS OFF. THE TRUCK WHEN PUT N REVERSE WOULD NOT MOVE. I TURNED IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT ACTED NORMAL. *TR
WE HAVE HAD THE REAR U JOINTS REPLACED 3X ON OUR TRUCK AND HAVE REAR AXEL FLUID LEAK ETC OBVIOUSLY THE DRIVESHAFT IS MISALIGNED AND EVENTUALLY WILL FAIL. ALSO THE TRANSFER CASE AND TRANSFER CASE MOTOR IS FAILING. THE FIRST U JOINT INCIDENT HAPPENED IN6/01/11 AT MILEAGE 41,638. THE TRANSFER CASE ISSUE BEGAN 10/26/12 AT MILEAGE 76,380. *TR
2010 NISSAN FRONTIER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A BUMPER *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE BUMPER HE PURCHASED HAS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW THAT LED TO THE FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. DUE TO THE DESIGN OF ONE OF THE MOUNTING BRACKETS, IT MADE CONTACT WITH A METAL POWER STEERING LINE, AND FROM THE VIBRATION, IT RUBBED THROUGH THE LINE CAUSING TOTAL FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. THE LOCATION OF THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE SEEN BEFORE OR DURING INSTALLATION, BUT ONLY WITH THE BUMPER ON, BY LOOKING THROUGH AN OPENING LESS THAN TWO INCHES, AT JUST THE RIGHT ANGLE, WITH A FLASH LIGHT. *JB
6-SPEED MANUAL STICK SHIFT TRANSMISSION; CLUTCH FAILED PREMATURELY AT 20,160M, 13MOS VEHICLE AGE; SEVERAL MONTHS PRIOR, INTERMITTANT BURNING SMELLS OF UNK ORIGIN WHEN BACKING VEHICLE THAT WENT AWAY QUICKLY MAY HAVE BEEN ONLY SYMPTOM OF IMPENDING PREMATURE CLUTCH FAILURE. SOLE DRIVER/OWNER IS VETERAN STICK SHIFT DRIVER SINCE 1975, PREVIOUS SOLE OWNER OF A FORD RANGER STICK THAT DID NOT HAVE CLUTCH FAILURE UNTIL 11 YRS OF DRIVING IT AND 85,000M, SO DRIVER ERROR NOT A FACTOR. CLUTCH FAILURE IN MID-TRAFFIC RESULTING IN HAVING TO DIVERT VEHICLE OFF MAIN ROADS AND SLOWLY LIMP IT TO NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP; CLUTCH FAILURE GOT PROGRESSIVELY AND DRAMATICALLY WORSE IN A SPAN OF JUST 10 MINUTES. EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE IS COVERED UNDER BOTH A 36K/3YR BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY AND 6YR/75K EXTENDED GOLD PREFERRED MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, NISSAN REFUSED TO COVER THE PREMATURE CLUTCH FAILURE UNDER WARRANTY, CLAIMING DRIVER ERROR. MECHANIC FOR PREVIOUS FORD RANGER IS WILLING TO TESTIFY TO DRIVER STICK SHIFT EXPERTISE. DRIVER WAS PLACED IN HARM'S WAY BY CLUTCH FAILURE; DRIVER'S EXPERTISE WITH A STICK IS THE ONLY REASON VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN IN A LIMPING FASHION TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP.
