The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, she heard an abnormal sound coming from the front driver's side of the vehicle and the vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. The contact later exited the vehicle and noticed that the front driver's side tire and axle had detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was being diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
