1) MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE SUSPENSION (2004 NISSAN MAXIMA SE) 2) CAUSED CAR TO MAKE A SUDDEN REFLEX TO THE RIGHT TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY 3) DEALER ( NISSAN OF EL MONTE ) HAS REPLACE STRUTS AND OTHER SUSPENSION PARTS MORE THAN 4 TIMES AFTER 10 DEALER INSPECTIONS.
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RELEASE FROM THE BUCKLE. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. *NM THE DRIVER AND RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WERE FOUND TO BE DIFFERENT. THE SEAT BELT WOULD BIND WHEN PULLED OUT OR WHEN TIGHTENED UP. *SC *JB
AROUND 50 TO 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMIES. ORIGINAL TIRES WERE BALANCED 3 TIMES, DID NOT CORRECT PROBLEM. DEALER THEN REPLACED TIRES, PROBLEM STILL PERSIST. ALSO INTERMITTENT RATTLING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS COMING FROM FRONT DRIVER SUSPENSION. *AK
THERE WAS A GURGLING NOISE FROM THE HEATER CORE. TSB #10003434. DUST GOT BEHIND THE PROTECTED SCREEN IN THE DASHBOARD, WHICH MADE THE DASHBOARD COMPONENTS UNREADABLE TSB#10003508. *JB
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY AT ANY SPEED. *AK THERE WAS A SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL, SEATS, A DEFECT IN THE RUBBER MOLDING OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE BRAKES SQUEALED, THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE OUT OF ROUND AND A GRINDING SOUND WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED A FEW TIMES, THE BRAKES WERE LUBED AND SANDED, POWER STEERING RACK WAS ADJUSTED, BRAKE ROTORS WERE REPLACED AND A BRAND NEW SET OF TIRES WERE ADDED. *SC
THE ENGINE STALLED AFTER SPUTTERING BRIEFLY WHILE IN PARK.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH A LOUD EXPLOSION OCCURRED. REAR TAILGATE GLASS AND SUN ROOF GLASS SHATTERED WITHOUT ANY IMPACT. THEN, A YEAR LATER, A RECALL FOR THE SUN ROOF GLASS WAS ISSUED. *AK
THE CAR RPM DROP DOWN BELOW 500, LAST YEAR IT LED TO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND SPEND AROUND A GRAND, BUT NEVER FIX,UNTIL TODAY THE DEALER CLAIM THAT THIS HAPPENED TO NISSAN MAXIM 04, AND LAST YEAR I START HAVING STEERING SHAKING, THE DEALER TOLD IF I CHANGE MY RIMS AND TIRES IT WILL FIX IT, AND IN AUG-2008 I HAVE 4 NEW RIM AND GOOD YEARS TIRES, BUT THE PROBLEM EXIT, I WENT IN JAN TO THE DEALER, AND THEY TOLD IF THEY TIGHTENED SOME THING IT WILL FIX, BUT NO I STILL HAVE UNTIL TODAY, CAR SHAKES IF YOU EXCEED SPEED OF 55 OR 50 M/H. I AM STILL HAVING THOSE PROBLEM UNTIL TODAY. *TR
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
FRONT END VIBRATION. DEALERSHIP DID A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, BUT IT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. ALSO, DEALERSHIP NOTICED CRACKS IN THE FRONT DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRES. THE TIRE CRACKS MAY BE THE CAUSE OF THE VIBRATION.*AK
LAST APRIL 25, 2003 I TOOK MY CAR FOR A YEARLY INSPECTION AND IT FAILED DUE TO THE RUST IN THE PASSENGER FLOOR PANEL AND SIDE RAIL. FROM THEN I TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP AND THEY GAVE ME A PRICE OF $800 TO $1,000 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. BEING DISABLED AND A FORMER MARINE ON A FIXED INCOME. I COULD NOT PAY FOR IT. SO I COVERED IT AND PLACED IT IN STORAGE. FOR HOW MUCH I PAID FOR THIS VEHICLE YOU THINK THEY WOULD GIVE YOU A BREAK, HELL NO. I NEED TO GET TO APPOINTMENTS AND NEED A CAR, SO WE'RE DO I GO TO GET HELP????? WHEN I FIND SOME ONE TO TAKE PICTURES I WILL WRITE AGAIN. I CAN NOT GET UNDER THE CAR BECAUSE I HAVE HAD 3/3 MAJOR BACK FUSION SERGURY'S THAT ALL FAILED.
INTERMITTENTLY AT 55 MPH STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED BADLY. DEALER REPLACED THE WHEELS AND TIRES TWICE, BUT PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED.*AK *MR
THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO ORDERED THE ELECTRONIC SECTION OF THE DASHBOARD. THE ORDER WAS PUT IN JUNE OF 2003, BUT THE PARTS DID NOT ARRIVE. *AK
AT ANY SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED SEVERELY. THE CONSUMER STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OFF AND THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO CORRECT ITSELF. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *JB
INFORMED OF SPLIT TIRE WHILE IN FOR SERVICE ON 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA AFTER TRIP TO OHIO WHEN AIR SENSOR FAILED AND HAD TO DRIVE HOME BELOW 55 MPH IN LIMP/SAFETY MODE. TIRE: GOODYEAR RSA 245/45/18. PAID FOR TWO NEW TIRES. *NM
CONCERNS INVOLVING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS ON THE LATEST CARS.*MR THE CONSUMER TEST DROVE THE 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE DRIVER STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A HILL AND REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL SINCE TODAY'S CAR HAVE A VERY LOW REV. ENGINE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THIS IS A DANGEROUS DESIGN. HE THINKS THE NEW VEHICLE'S SHOULD BE PRODUCED LIKE THE FORMER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS WERE WHEN YOU REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE THE CAR NEVER ROLLS BACK. *NM
CONSUMER'S 2004 MAXIMA WAS RECALLED FOR THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THE CONSUMER MADE AND APPOINTMENT AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. WHEN THE CONSUMER ARRIVED AT THE DEALER SHE WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT IT HAD TO BE ORDERED. *TS *NM ***NAR***
GOODYEAR TIRE AND RUBBER COMPANY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM REIMBURSEMENT FORM CUSTOMER IS UPSET ABOUT 4 YEAR TIME LAPSES**NAR**CC THE CONSUMER STATED HAD VEHICLE FOR 4 YEARS NOW AND NOW THE DEALER IS INFORMING CUSTOMERS THAT THE TIRES MAY BE SUBJECT TO CRACKS IN THE MID TO UPPER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE AND TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST GOODYEAR. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ORIGINAL TIRES WERE REPLACED AND WOULD NOT BE PURCHASING ANYMORE GOODYEAR TIRES. *TR

CONSUMER STATES THAT GOODYEAR REFUSES TO REIMBURSE HIM FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THERE EAGLE RSA P245/45R18 TIRES, DUE TO SIDEWALL CRACKING. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE FIRST TRIED TO GET THE TIRES REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY HE WAS TOLD THE DAMAGE WAS COSMETIC. NOW FOR THE SECOND TIME GOODYEAR HAS DENIED THE CONSUMERS CLAIM STATING HE DID NOT SHOW PROOF THAT THE TIRES WERE ADJUSTED FOR SIDEWALL CRACKING. *JB

2004 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH RECALL ON THE GOODYEAR TIRES. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE PROBLEM WITH HIS TIRES OCCURRED A YEAR BEFORE HE RECEIVED THE RECALL. CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT AND WAS DENIED BECAUSE GOODYEAR SAID THERE WAS NO PROOF OF SIDEWALL CRACKING ON THE RECEIPT. *KB

WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIMMIED AND VIBRATED HARSHLY. THE VEHICLE'S TIRES HAD ALSO BEGUN TO WERE EXCESSIVELY. *PH *NM
4 TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. THEY EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION AND CRACKS ALONG THE SIDEWALL. *AK
