Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 20 F THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL NOT DEPRESS AND THE CAR WILL NOT STOP. THIS IS A RECURRING INCIDENT. MOST RECENTLY, PULLED AWAY FROM PARKING SPOT (STREET PARKING) AND DROVE TOWARDS AN INTERSECTION WITH A STOP SIGN. TRIED TO STOP, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STUCK (WOULD NOT DEPRESS) AND THE CAR ROLLED PAST THE STOP SIGN UNTIL IT EVENTUALLY ROLLED TO A STOP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. HONKED HORN TO AVOID COLLISION AS THE STREET I CROSSED IS A BUSY TWO-WAY ROAD. KEPT THE CAR IN PARK FOR ABOUT A MINUTE WHILE PUMPING THE BRAKES, AND THEY WORKED AGAIN AFTER THAT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR COMPLAINT OF 2005 ALTIMA OWNERS AS WELL, PLEASE REFER TO THE FOLLOWING WEBPAGE: HTTP://WWW.ABOUTAUTOMOBILE.COM/COMPLAINT/2005/NISSAN/ALTIMA/HYDRAULIC+BRAKE. *TR
THE FRONT ROTORS BECAME WARPED FOR THE 2ND TIME SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR. THE FIRST TIME THE CAR HAD APPROX 23K MILES, WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THE CAR NOW HAS 49K MILES AND ONCE AGAIN BEGAN VIBRATING WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. CAR WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC, WHO RECOMMENDED THAT BOTH FRONT ROTORS BE REPLACED. TWO SETS OF ROTORS IN A CAR WITH LESS THAN 50K MILES SEEMS EXCESSIVE. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
