TAKATA RECALL. CAR MADE A NOISE AND THEN STALLED. PULLED OVER AND CAR WOULD NOT GO IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IN VEHICLE.
THE DASHBOARD OF THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED GETTING STICKY AND SHINY IN SOME PLACES. THE DASHBOARD SCRATCHES AND DETERIORATES EASILY. IN SOME CASES, THE SUN AND/OR LIGHTS REFLECT OFF OF THE DASH BOARD AND GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY AND I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND. I COASTED TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. MY CARS TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I WAS STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY FOR TWO HOURS, UNTIL THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT NISSAN MAXIMA'S WERE RECALLED FROM 2003-2010 FOR CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURES. NISSAN DOUBLED THE WARRANTY (10 YEARS, 120,000 MILES). MY VEHICLE HAD THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND I HAD 110,000 MILES WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. NISSAN PUT THE SAME FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR AS THEY DID THE PREVIOUS YEARS. I AM REQUESTING A REFUND FOR REPAIRS AND CAR RENTAL (CVT TRANSMISSION $2,443.87, CAR RENTAL $550.04). UPON REQUEST I CAN PROVIDE RECEIPTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY AND BEEN INJURED OR INJURED SOMEONE ELSE.
TAKATA RECALL. AFTER BEING TOLD A PART ON MY TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN I IMMEDIATELY GOT IT FIXED. WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WOULD REV TO HIGH RPM ON ITS OWN. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION THAT IS ON BACK ORDER BY NISSAN. IT'S BEEN A MONTH WITHOUT MY CAR AND TRANSMISSION ISN'T RECALLED EVEN AFTER BEING ON BACK ORDER. MY MAXIMA HAS ONLY 90000 MILES AND THIS SHOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE FOR A NEWER 2011 MAXIMA. I JUST WANT TO PREVENT ANYONE ELSE FROM BEING TRICKED INTO PURCHASING A CAR WITH A FAULTY TRANSMISSION WITHOUT KNOWING IT'S ISSUES. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!
PANORAMIC SUNROOF EXPLOSION. I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND HEARD A LOUD BANG SOUNDED LIKE A SHOT GUN WHICH SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. MY SUNROOF EXPLODED AND THE GLASS STARTED FALLING IN MY CAR AFTER SUNROOF STARTED TO CAVE IN.
VEHICLE IS PARKED AND ENGINE WONT START. HAD A 2009 MAXIMA THAT ALSO HAD THE SAME ISSUES. CHECKED BATTERY AND IT IS FINE BUT CAR WONT START. I HAVE JUMPSTARTED IT AND THAT HAS TURNED THE CAR BACK ON BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THIS LAST TIME MY CAR DID NOT START , NOT EVEN WITH A JUMP START.
AS I PARKED MY CAR, I REMOVED THE SEATBELT, I NOTICED A SMOKE COMING OUT OF MY COAT WHERE THE SEAT BELT WAS REMOVED. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE OF THE COAT THAT SHOWS BURN MARKS.
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED DUE TO A STEERING LOCK FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AND COULD NOT BE STARTED.
STEERING COLUMN LOCKING UP KEY FOB NOT BEING RECOGNIZED BY CAR. IT WONT LET ME START IT.
STARTER MOTOR FAILURE. INTERMITTENT ON AND OFF. FAILING STARTER PRODUCES NOISE WHEN STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS INTERMITTENT. DIAGNOSED AND CONFIRMED FAILURE IN STARTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LANDERA NISSAN DEALER, LOCATED AT: 371 E. GOODMAN RD, SOUTH HAVEN, MS 38671 WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CANNON NISSAN OF BLYTHEVILLE DEALER, LOCATED AT: 305 N SERVICE RD, BLYTHEVILLE, AR 72315, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT HAS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY 3 TIMES IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS. UPON GETTING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THE SECOND TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS TOLD THEY NEEDED THE CAR ANOTHER DAY, FOR A LONGER TIME TO FURTHER INVESTIGATE THE TWO CODES THAT CAME UP DURING THE TEST. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT BACK OUT A FEW DAYS LATER. NOW TWO MONTHS LATER THE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN AND THIS TIME AS I WAS LEAVING A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT, TURNING ONTO A MAIN ROAD THE CAR MADE A JERKING/SURGE-STOP MOTION AS IF IT DID NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE. IT CONTINUED TO DO THIS SAME MOTION ANY TIME I SLOWED DOWN OR STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A TURN DURING MY 2.5-3.0 MILE TRIP TO MY HOUSE. I DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR FOR THE NEXT 24-28 HOURS. UPON DRIVING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DROP OFF FOR SERVICE I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE JERKING/SURGE-STOP MOTION. AFTER ASSESSING THE VEHICLE TODAY I WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR TIMING CHAIN COVER HAS DETERIORATED CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH OIL PRESSURE TO THE ENGINE, CODE P0011. THERE WERE ALSO TWO OTHER CODES FOR HEATING SYSTEM P1217 AND TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE P0868. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS $2984. MY CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD, APPROXIMATELY 67,000 MILES ON IT SO IT IS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. AFTER READING OTHERS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT TRANSMISSION ISSUES JUST OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD, KNOWING THAT PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS HAD PROBLEMS THAT ENDED UP EXTENDED WARRANTY IT IS VERY DISTURBING AND DISAPPOINTING TO KNOW THAT NISSAN IS NOT FURTHER INVESTIGATING THESE ISSUES FURTHER. ALSO, OTHER ISSUES I HAVE HAD TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY AND CAR NOT STARTING BUT ALL DASH LIGHTS STAYING ON HAD TECHNICAL BULLETINS. THE LATTER SHOULD BE A QUICK RESOLVE YET I WAS CHARGED ALMOST $400 FOR SOMETHING NOT MENTIONED IN THE RELATED BULLETIN. NISSAN LACKS RESPONSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I WAS IN ATLANTA, GA DRIVING DOWN UNION CITY ROAD WHEN I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION. I HEARD GLASS BREAK AND LOOKED TO SEE IF MY BACK WINDSHIELD WAS BROKEN. I PULLED OVER ONTO A SIDE STREET AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND REALIZED THAT MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. THERE WAS NOT ANOTHER CAR NOR TRUCK NEAR ME BEFORE THE EXPLOSION SO IT WAS NOT A ROCK. THE CLOTH DIVIDER BETWEEN THE INSIDE OF THE CAR AND THE GLASS WAS NOT DAMAGED NOR WAS A ROCK OR BULLET FOUND. I CALLED MY SISTER AND SHE TOLD ME THERE WAS A DEALER UP THE STREET AND TO GO THERE. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT AND GAVE TOLD BE THAT ALBA GLASS REPAIR COULD HELP ME. I KEPT GETTING THE RUN AROUND SO I CALLED FIVE STAR NISSAN, IN ALBANY, GA, WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THEY TOLD ME THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE WARRANTY AND I HAD TO CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY WHICH I DID. NO ONE COULD EXPLAIN THE EXPLOSION. I CHECKED ONLINE AND THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY WITH SEVERAL MODELS OF NISSAN.
THE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP ON THE MAXIMA IS 2" BELOW THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT. 31/2" CENTER TO CENTER. WHEN THIS VEHICLE IS ONCOMING WITH THE HEADLAMPS ON, THE TURN SIGNAL IS VIRTUALLY BLOTTED OUT BY THE GLARE OF THE HEADLAMP. THIS IS A PROBLEM ON MANY MAKES AND MODELS OF VEHICLES. THIS CONDITION IS EVEN WORSE FOR ONE THAT WEARS EYEGLASSES AND/OR HAS MILD CATARACTS AS THIS CAUSES THE ONCOMING HEADLIGHTS TO APPEAR TO FLARE. THE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP SHOULD NEVER BE CLOSER THAN 6" TO THE HEADLAMPS. CONDITIONS: VEHICLE STOPPED AND READY TO TURN. WORSE AT NIGHT. CITY STREET OR COUNTRY ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK TONIGHT ON A REMOTE STRETCH OF HIGHWAY MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED OUT OF NOWHERE. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH AND THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 45-50 DEGREES SO I ALSO HAD THE HEATER ON INSIDE. I HAD THE SUNSHADE OPEN BUT THE TILTING PORTION OF THE ROOF CLOSED. NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY AND THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC NEAR ME THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED ANY DEBRIS TO HIT THE ROOF. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE LOUDEST BANG, INITIALLY SCARING ME SO BAD I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND THEN GLASS WAS FLYING AROUND EVERYWHERE. IT WAS SO LOUD I THOUGHT AT FIRST I HAD A BLOWOUT FOR SPLIT SECOND UNTIL THEN THE GLASS HIT ME AND THE WIND STARTING COMING IN FROM THE GAPING HOLE IN THE ROOF. IT LITERALLY SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT OR CANNON WENT OFF IN MY CAR. LUCKILY NONE OF THE GLASS INJURED ME AND EVEN MORE LUCKILY MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT WITH ME AS SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY THE FLYING GLASS. I HAD TO CLOSE THE SUNSHADE AND DRIVE HOME THE REMAINING DISTANCE AT A MUCH SLOWER SPEED BUT LUCKILY DID SO WITHOUT INCIDENT. I TOOK SEVERAL PICTURES ONCE SAFELY HOME, AND AS YOU CAN SEE IT APPEARS AS IF THE GLASS BUBBLED UP, ALMOST LIKE FROM INSIDE AIR PRESSURE CAUSING THE EXPLOSION. MY FIRST THOUGHTS ARE THAT MAYBE THE COLD AIR OUTSIDE AND WARM AIR INSIDE? IT IS THE FRONT PANEL THAT OPENS THAT HAS THE DAMAGE AND THE REAR PANEL IS FULLY INTACT. THIS WAS AN INTENSE EXPERIENCE THAT I HOPE TO NEVER HAVE HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE.
I HAVE A 2011 MAXIMA, I PURCHASED NEW ON 5/1/2011. I NOTICED ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO MY DASHBOARD STARTED BECOMING SHINY LOOKING AND STICKY TO THE TOUCH. MY CAR ISN'T A GARAGE KEPT CAR, BUT I'VE ALWAYS USED A WINDSHIELD SHADE TO KEEP THE SUN & HEAT OFF MY DASH. APPARENTLY, THIS DOSEN'T HELP. IT'S LIKE MY DASHBOARD IS SLOWLY MELTING AWAY! IT'S GETTING TO THE POINT NOW WHERE IT'S CAUSING A GLARE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND MAKING SEEING THE ROAD HARDER NOW. . OH, AND I'VE ONLY USED A DAMP CLOTH TO CLEAN IT IN THE PAST, NO CHEMICALS, ETC.
VEHICLE DASH COATING IS BREAKING DOWN BECOMING STICKY AND HIGHLY REFLECTIVE CAUSING SUNLIGHT TO REFLECT OFF DASH BOARD ONTO INSIDE OF FRONT WINDSHIELD MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THROUGH WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING.
MY DOOR WON'T LOOK. I HAVE REPLACED ONE ACTUATOR ON THE DOOR ALREADY. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER 2 OF THEM THAT ARE NOT WORKING. WHY DO THESE KEEP BREAKING.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS BEEN ON FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW EVEN THOUGH SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. IT IS ON AS LONG AS THE CAR IS CRANKED.
I HAVE A 2011 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE SUNROOF BUSTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGH WAY. I HAD TO GO TO THE EYE DOCTOR FOR GLASS PARTICLES BEING IN MY EYE, AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE REP. I BOUGHT THIS CAR AT MOORE NISSAN IN BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA, AND THEY DID NOT HAVE A SENSE OF URGENCY AT ALL. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWFUL AND THEY WERE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY OR THE SAFETY OF MY TODDLER CHILD......UPDATED12/07/15*BF UPDATED 4/27/18*JB *TR
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIST HAS BEEN ON FOR A YEAR NOW. I AM WORRIED THAT IF I HAVE A PASSENGER SIDE THEY MAY GET HURT BECAUSE THE AIRBAG MAY NOT WORK!! IT IS HIGHLIGHTED THE ENTIRE TIME THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
I HAVE A 2011 MAXIMA AND MY FAMILY AND I KEEP GETTING STRANDED. I UNLOCK THE CAR AND THEN THE BREAK IS STIFF, STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED AND CAR WON'T START. THIS IS THE WORST FEELING WHEN YOUR SITTING IN A DARK PARKING LOT WITH 2 YOUNG KIDS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! I SEE SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE!!
CAR HESITATES SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND. AT TIMES, THERE IS A LOUD "CLUNKING" SOUND WHEN THE GAS IS PRESSED HARD. THEN EVEN WHEN THE GAS IS PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN, CAR WOULD SLOWLY SHIFT. IT TAKES ABOUT 10 TO 20 SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULD SHIFT NORMALLY. THIS GETS WORSE WHEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. ERROR CODE IT RETURNS INCLUDE P1778 AND P0746. SEPARATE ISSUE: THE DRIVER SEAT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH WHEN ACCELERATING AND STOPPING.
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF WARNING LIGHT WAS ON WHILE THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED WITH A PASSENGER. THIS IS THE 3RD OCCURRENCE THIS WEEK.
2011 NISSAN MAXIMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE JERKED THREE TIMES, BEFORE IT SHUT OFF. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED, THE AIR FILTER HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED IN A YEAR. THE DEALER CLAIMED, THE CONSUMER REFUSED TO HAVE THE AIR FILTER CHANGED. *JB
THE SEAT SEEMS TO SHIFT BACK AND FORTH. NISSAN ANSWER WAS TO PURCHASE A SEAT BASE FOR $1500.
THE REAR GLASS PANEL OF SUNROOF "EXPLODED" WITH CHUNKS OF GLASS COMING OFF THE PANEL AND OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS THE ENTIRE PANEL EXHIBITED MAJOR CRACKING THROUGHOUT. SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME AND OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 45 DEGREES. WIFE WAS SLOWING ON HIGHWAY TO TURN INTO DRIVEWAY. SHE STATED THE NEAREST VEHICLE WAS OVER 1/4 MILE AHEAD OF HER SO NO POSSIBILITY OF ROCK BEING THROWN FROM THEIR TIRES. SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST IN THE CAR WHEN IT OCCURRED. SINCE IT WAS THE BACK PANEL NO GLASS FELL INTO THE CAR THAT WE COULD SEE. *TR
INTERMITTENT HIGH RPM'S WITH NO CONTROL OF SPEED. WOULD HAPPEN THEN NOT HAPPEN FOR DAYS. WOULD NOT GO AT STOP SIGNS/STOP LIGHTS THEN SURGE FORWARD WHEN THE TRANSMISSION (WE LATER LEARNED) FINALLY ENGAGED. ON A DAY IT WASN'T ACTING UP WE TOOK IT TO WHERE WE BOUGHT IT (DEALERSHIP) AND THEY IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED US THAT WE NEEDED A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION $5,500. 2,053 MILES OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. WE COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT WHEN THEY CONTACTED CORPORATE NO CONSIDERATION FOR OUR LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP.NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS DID WE THINK IT WAS SOMETHING SO SERIOUS AS A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THIS TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSEDLY THE SECOND (IMPROVED) TRANSMISSION TYPE THAT NISSAN HAS PUT IN THE MAXIMA WITH THE PRIOR GENERATION OF TRANSMISSIONS BEING GIVEN A WARRANTY OF UP TO 10 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES DUE TO ALL THE PRIOR PROBLEMS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED WITH THIS SECOND GENERATION. NOW, THEY WON'T EVEN HONOR THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH A 62,053 MILEAGE. THE TRANSMISSIONS AREN'T FIXED! WE HAVE 2 SMALL GRANDCHILDREN WE PICK UP EVERY OTHER WEEK AND REGULARLY USE THE CAR TO PICK THEM UP. HOW SCARY TO HAVE REALIZED WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THE KIDS IN THE CAR BECAUSE WE HAD NO IDEA THAT THE TRANSMISSION ON A CAR WITH ONLY 62,053 MILES WOULD BE COMPLETELY SHOT. I PURCHASED MY 2011 NISSAN MAXIMA BRAND NEW IN MAY OF 2011. ABOUT A YEAR AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR, THE DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED ME THAT MY ENGINE MOUNT WAS SERIOUSLY DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED MY WARRANTY COMPANY AND FOUND OUT THE PARTICULAR PIECE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. I WAS FACING A $1000.00+ REPAIR BILL. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAVE STILL NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR MY ENGINE MOUNT. I AM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND HOW, ON A BRAND NEW CAR, CAN AN ENGINE MOUNT BE DAMAGED TO THE POINT OF NEEDING REPAIR AND THEN MY WARRANTY NOT COVERING THAT PARTICULAR PIECE? ALSO, FOR THE LAST 6-7 MONTHS, THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND GOING OFF. THE CAR WASN'T RIDING OR OPERATING ANY DIFFERENT SO I DISMISSED IT. RECENTLY HOWEVER, AT ROUGHLY 85K MILES, MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. WHEN I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, MY CAR JUST SHUT DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT BUT WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING, AROUND ABOUT 40MPH, THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO SHIFT BUT WAS CONFUSED. THE GAS TANK WAS AT ABOUT 1/4 OF A TANK WHEN ALL OF THIS OCCURRED. MY CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND I AM HAVING MAJOR ISSUES AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY, WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND KEEP UP WITH ALL OF THE REGULAR MAINTENANCE. *TR

TRANSMISSION: THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON INDICATOR WAS ON SO I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE. WHEN I RECEIVED THE DIAGNOSIS I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR IS JUST 3YRS OLD AND HAS 98K MILES. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 75K MILES. THE TOTAL COST OF THE RE-MANUFACTURED 3.5 TRANSMISSION WOULD BE $3589. 2003-2010 MODELS HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE 3.0 TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE. RECENTLY, THE OFFICE OF [XXX] INFORMED ME THAT THE BACK SEAT CAME LOOSE DURING THE ACCIDENT WHICH CAUSED BOTH CHILDREN'S SEVERE INJURIES. THE CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT WERE NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECTED BY THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE BACK SEAT UNHOOKING DURING THE ACCIDENT THEREFORE CAUSING SAFETY RESTRAINTS TO BE INADEQUATE AND POSSIBLY EVEN MORE HARMFUL. I ALSO WANT TO MENTION THAT THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHERE THE 10 YEAR OLD WAS. THE VEHICLE IS POORLY DESIGNED TO SURVIVE EVEN A MINOR COLLISION.
