Car turning off while driving and can't turn the wheel to get out of the road. We had the car battery, fob battery and alternator replaced and still the same issue. We heard this has happened to another owner of the same vehicle that lives in or town. This is not safe and could cause an accident.
My son was driving my car to work and this is his account of the incident On 1/17/2026 on I95 n, the steering wheel abruptly stopped controlling the wheels. It was as if it completely disconnected and he lost control and crashed into the median. It was a terrifying incident for my son. No other cars were involved. This accident has been reported to my insurance company. This car has been a smooth ride since I've had it. It has UNDER 70,000 miles even though it's a 2017 Nissan Maxima. There were no warning or messages on the dash. I have been ill so the process of getting the car appraised or considered for repairs has just begun. I incurred towing charges and rental fees. My son is having headaches and back pain since this incident. What made it extremely scary is that it happened suddenly.

I had my car being repaired for a car accident I had on [XXX]. A piece of tire on the highway [XXX] went underneath the middle frame of my car. I picked up the car from the repair shop here in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, [XXX]. Beginning on the same day, I had a "check engine" light appear on my dashboard. On Sunday,; I went to my local Auto Zone store. They informed me that their test results was" Power Train System Secondary Issue: P1751 CVT Judder (C/V Inspection). Recently this year, I received a notice from Nissan Corporation concerning my Maxima. It was from a class action lawsuit over the engine. It extended the warranty on my car to 84,000 miles. My car has approximatelly a little over 82,000. About 2 to 3 weeks ago, I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs concerning my vehicle. The female who I spoke to said my 2017 Nissan Maxima was not in their system. She informed me that an e-mail wiell be sent to me. When I reply back,; I was to attach one item of either my USAA car insurance identification card or copy of my Ohio BMV form. I did both. I then got an email stating to resend these items. I did, Today, I went by the Germain Nissan dealership located on Morse Road concerning the "check engine" light. The service director informed me that there was no "recall " on my vehicle concerning the engine. Therefore, Nissan needs to add me and my car into their system to include the extended warranty on my 2017 Nissan Maxima I purchased from Georgesville Nissan here in Columbus asap, INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My main issue that has caused major concern is while I was driving down the road. The steering all of a sudden jerked and I was almost in an accident. I immediately took it down to my mechanic and he stated that the control arm of the vehicle was bad. I did replace all four tires and got an alignment prior to this happening. Now,this was the most serious incident. I purchased this vehicle in 2022. I have had nothing but problems with it. The first two months I had it. I had to replace the mass airflow sensor not only once but twice. Then a couple months later the serpentine belt went out, replaced that, then of course it goes out again 6th months later. Replaced again!. In addition to that I have had several electrical issues, I think I replaced more tail lights, fog lights, and headlights on this vehicle than all my previous vehicles put together and I have owned many. The engine makes a funny sound every time I accelerate, I have yet to diagnose that one. The fuel door spring busted which results in my check engine light always on, the visor broke and won't stay up, had to replace that. I have been through 4 sets of tires since I purchased it. I only live a mile from work, I don't put a lot of miles on the vehicle. I have a disabled wife and I need reliable transportation. I have spent thousands of dollars to fix this car and the problems keep coming. I've almost spent more money on it than the car payment and insurance for 3 years. There is definitely something wrong with this vehicle and I think Nissan corporation should be held liable.
My car has been "losing power" while driving. While driving and pressing the gas pedal, the car will stop accelerating and kind of goes into an idle state. Highly dangerous! It happened the other day while I was attempting to enter traffic. It has been happening off and on for the last 2 weeks and has been happening more frequently, meaning several times a day. It seems to happen more often when the temperature outside is hot (90+ degrees). Also, with the last few times, after it happens and I regain power, the ABS light comes on and remains on until I shut off the engine.
While driving on I-75 in Atlanta about a month ago, my 2017 Nissan Maxima suddenly stopped accelerating. The engine was revving, but the car wouldn’t respond when I pressed the gas. It was unexpected and dangerous in fast-moving highway traffic. The same issue happened again on July 22, 2024, while I was driving on I-85. Both times, the car lost acceleration without warning in the moment. Before these incidents, I noticed occasional hesitation from a stop and delayed acceleration, but nothing as extreme as losing power at highway speeds. I took the car to a Nissan dealership, and they pulled a P17F1 code related to the CVT transmission. Nissan has acknowledged this issue by extending the warranty for transmission repairs in other models, but they told me my vehicle is not covered. This failure creates a serious safety risk and should not be ignored.
Component Failure: CVT transmission completely failed, requires full replacement. Failed unit available for inspection. Consistent with known manufacturing defect affecting multiple Nissan models, evidenced by $400+ million in class action settlements in the USA alone. Safety Risks: Sudden acceleration loss while driving, unpredictable lurching/jerking, complete loss of forward propulsion, risk of rear-end collisions, inability to safely merge or maintain highway speeds. CVT failures occur suddenly without adequate warning. Dealer Confirmation: Younker Nissan in Renton, WA confirmed complete CVT failure requiring replacement, estimated cost $8800. Manufacturer Inspection: None. Nissan declined inspection citing mileage over 84,000-mile limit, despite known manufacturing defect and my vehicle falling within [XXX] v. Nissan settlement model years (2016-2018 Maxima). Warning Symptoms: Initial: Shuddering and jerking while on highway. Within 1 hour: Intermittent hesitation, jerking during acceleration, transmission shuddering, whining noises, slipping, intermittent check engine light Within 2 days: More of the same, but worse. Completely stopped driving it. These match documented CVT failure patterns in Nissan settlements: hesitating, stalling, jerking, lurching, shaking, juddering, premature failure. Context: This systematic manufacturing defect acknowledged through multiple Nissan settlements totaling $400+ million in trhe USA alone. Failure at 106k miles well within expected transmission lifespan for properly maintained flagship sedan. Arbitrary 84k-mile settlement limits exclude well-maintained vehicles experiencing same inherent defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The 2 A pillar molding in the front flew off while driving on the highway and the 2 rear pillar moldings in the back are loose. It is available for inspection. This is an EXTREME safety concern as I was going high speeds and part of my car detached - I am thankful that it did not hit the cars near me but that doesn't mean that when I get it replaced with the faulty issue, that the new ones will not fall off. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. There was no warning that the parts were falling off. The car has zero body damage and has never been in a wreck before. This is a KNOWN issue with the maxima and I am disappointed that nissian knows about this, has a service bulletin (Classification: BT19-011a; Ref: NTB19-079a) on how to fix this KNOWN issue but the manufacturer refuses to take any accountability for their poor design flaws leading to a major safety concern.
Failure of rear control arms
Roof started to show lines that turn into cracks exposing the internal metal frame.
Airbag warning light stays on at the dashboard. Passenger air bag light indicates airbag is off when someone is actually in the seat. This is incorrect.
Air Bag sensor keeps turning on. After several resets, and it’s always a different airbag sensor that sets it off.
The system that failed on my Maxima SL 2017 was the CVT transmission. It was diagnosed by Sutherlin Dealer Nissan on 4/3/24 with the code DTC P17F1 CVT Judder at the cost of $193.83. My safety & others were put at risk when my car STOP in the middle of an intersection not once but 4 times without a warning, not lights, not sounds etc. just STOP. I pressed the gas petal and the car moved slowly. After the diagnosis we were told the car may or may not stop again. We decided to look for another diagnosis & quote. On 4/10/24 the car left me stranded again crossing another intersection. Car was towed again to a certified Nissan transmission shop and left for repairs. A Nissan OEM refurbished transmission was changed, and computer was reprogrammed at Sutherlin Nissan as part of the fixing at a cost of $6,707.49. On 4/29/24 car stop sudden again. Car was towed to the previous independent transmission shop and 4 days later they stated nothing was wrong because not code related to the transmission or anything else showed, but a new battery was placed. We pick up the car again from the independent repair shop on 5/3/24, in our trip back the next day 5/4/24 from returning the 3rd rental car, the car STOP again in the middle of the road (limp mode) We waited about 45 minutes with the car on and noticed a strange noise coming from the new installed transmission and the air conditioner turned off. After turning the engine on and off the AC came back on again and car seems to come back normally. We were able to manage to take it to the Nissan Dealership with was just 15 minutes away. We left the car and waited for the diagnosis to be made on Monday 5/6/24. We were informed that same transmission code showed which means the new installed refurbished transmission was gone bad!!! and the good news was we don't have to pay for another transmission, but we must pay for labor again $2,696.
Rear passenger pillars between passenger doors and trunk plastic trim pieces have both broken off. The plastic clips are so flimsy they broke off.
What happened today was the sunroof exploded while driving down the interstate. Loud gunshot sound! Lucky the viser was closed when it happened! I have an appointment next week due to dealership backed up but they said I can come by to get it patched until my appointment day. No Warning lights, messages, or anything happened before the incident occurred. Just glad no one was hurt and it didn’t cause me to have accident.
The transmission just stops shifting out of nowhere and has had a transmission judder code since ive owned it. The transmission shakes at acceleration about 90% of the time.
Went to work and parked. It rained that day, not sure if it’s related. When I went to leave the dash airbag light stayed on. This was December 2023. There are no other issues with the car. No other warning lights. The car has 52,300 miles on it now. I just recently took it to the dealership to see about getting it fixed and was quoted $7k-11k in repairs. They told me “it’s usually the setback assembly. That could possibly fix it.” I was told the lifetime power train warranty that the dealership offers does not apply. I do have the invoice, but for some train the website is not letting me upload.
I was driving on the highway and the passenger side front pillar trim panel just flew off. This is the second time this has happened to my vehicle, the first time was my rear pillar which I paid to replace myself because I was told at the dealership this is just a cosmetic issue. I disagree, to me this is very hazardous and could potentially hurt someone, and now my car sounds like air is coming through the windshield. I don’t feel safe driving this car now and this kind of thing happening. I would feel awful if this caused an accident or if someone got hurt and I feel that Nissan should take responsibility and correct this defect as I have researched that many people have experienced the same scenario with these parts of the vehicle. The one I had replaced had different clips and definitely feels more secure, but again I don’t think enough people are reporting this issue properly, so I am because it’s dangerous.
First, my passenger airbag light came on and will not go off. then my emergency breaking system activated while I was driving on the interstate and I was almost hit by a semi from behind I didn’t manage to get the vehicle off the road I took it to Nissan . They did a diagnostics and couldn’t find anything wrong with the car the emergency braking system has activated several times since then and now my whole dash system seems to freeze up completely and will not let me use anything in the car. I have to put it in park the car off and restart for it to work. Nissan has my vehicle now . They did another diagnostics and said it was a sensor in the airbags, and the whole driver side seat had to be replaced and I was told that my airbags would not deploy if I got in a car wreck since there is no recall for this issue so they say I have to put out-of-pocket that amount of money to fix my car and they want me to pay for another diagnostics fee. I have a car that does not have safety features that I paid for. Nissan wants to charge me again for another diagnostics exam and the cost for the seat they say about $5000 .
The airbag light does not go out once the vehicle has been started and while driving.
Car starts, but would not accelerate. Turned the car off, started 10 minutes later, car would not accelerate past 5 mph. Drove a 1/4 block turned around, car’s power steering locked up in drive way. 12 hours later car works fine, no acceleration issues. Brought to Nissan dealership, they found no issues. 2 weeks later, drove for 3-hour trip. Returned home and parked. Started car 30 minutes later, drove 10 minutes and car loses acceleration again in the middle of road/traffic. Able to park safely. Car engine would not restart, lights and hazards working. Error message on dash says incorrect key code. Called a tow, they jumped the car with a jumper pack and engine starts, car accelerates. 1 day later new battery installed, new battery in key fobs. Car is accelerating and starting now. My complaint, my belief that there is a serious design flaw with the keyless start option. Car is not detecting key while in drive every time. No indication given that batteries were low power. Safety issues - no detectable problems found by mechanics, losing acceleration while in traffic possibly due to key fob malfunction. Why is there no option for traditional key start? How can car be trusted to start/ accelerate when driving long distances, when there is no reasonable explanation for the loss of acceleration? This is not a unique issue, a number of complaints online for viewing. Videos on how to ‘fix’ by unplugging car battery. Consumers should not have to diy/disconnect car battery just to start a car.I believe this is a deeper issue with car design and is a safety issue for teen and adult drivers.
The emergency braking system warning light came on while I was stopped in rush hour traffic. No collision. Light is coming on every time I drive the car. Fear of the system automatically stopping my vehicle while driving without cause. The dealership refused to test the sensors without me paying for the service. This first started showing up on 8/28/2023. The front sensors warning stating " front sensor obstructed system is unavailable" has been coming on for no reason at random. Dealership refuses to test sensors without me paying for test. This has been happening for some time.
Carvana states I have open recalls on my car. However, when I check my VIN on your website it states no open recalls. I reached out to Carvana to file a complaint as I wasted 2 hours of my life taking my car to have recalls fixed when the recalls were non-existent. Carvana in turn routes me to file a complaint with you as you send them the codes for recalls. Does my car have recalls or not?
The contact's mother owns a 2017 Nissan Maxima equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Pro Contact TX, Tire Size: 245/45/R18, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the TPMS warning light was illuminated. The owner noticed that the passenger's side front tire was flat. The tire was replaced with the spare tire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was confirmed that the tire tread had separated, and all four tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the owner to the local dealer for assistance. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21T001000 (Tires) and 20T018000 (Tires). The DOT number was not available. The tire mileage was approximately 16,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 63,458.
2017 Nissan Maxima rear roof has a serious material deterioration occurring on both passenger and driver’s side. This not only creates a vector for water intrusion, but also compromises vehicle integrity and calls into question crash/rollover certifications. Secondary effects, include electrical vehicle integrity and vectors for mold within the cabin affecting occupants health. This is a systemic problem that has been happening with Nissan Maximas (+/-5 years) and has been documented in multiple forums.
May 17,2023 6:30a.m. I drove to work, parked for 9hrs & at 4pm when I went to leave my sunroof was shattered.. there are no trees or anything that is over my car.. it looked as though someone had gotten inside my car & punched the sunroof as the glass was slightly pushed outwards.. my car was locked & no signs of entry... upon my arrival to Hudson Nissan I was informed by a Nissan Service Writer that this happens all the time & he told me to look it up on Youtube or Google.. After looking it up & seeing that exploding sunroofs happen daily, I did more research & saw there are current & past lawsuits pertaining to exploding sunroofs..that is also where I saw that I needed to file my exploding sunroof on this site. My car was inspected by a certified Nissan technician that said my entire roof system needed to be replaced. My car was also inspected by a certified State Farm Adjuster that only wants to pay for the rear glass. Thankfully I was not driving at the time of the incident, however, after viewing several videos of consumers this has happened to, they all said it sounds like a gunshot.. I've been shot, still carry the bullet in my neck, I cannot even imagine how I'd react if I were on the interstate driving 65mph and hear what appears to be a gunshot inside my car...or if my grandson was riding along. I cant say how I'd react,, but im guessing everyone around me would be at risk including myself.. I just can't phathom why this issue is still allowed to happen. The entire process has been a complete nightmare. I've been without a vehicle since May 17, 2023. State Farm doesn't want to pay for what the manufacturer/dealership suggests & once I get it fixed I will be trading it... I do not ever want to go through this again!
The trim between rear quarter panels and side rear windows becomes loose and not attached at one end and falls of the cars which might be a hazard for pedestrians at higher speeds.
The car went full throttle by itself and would not stop.
I bought the vehicle in question new and it has less than 10,000 miles. The low beam headlights have a definite line where there is no light above the line and very dim light directly in front of the vehicle( photos attached). I took the car to the dealer and was informed that this is “normal” for the Maxima and that there is no adjustment that can be made. I then sent photos to Nissan Customer Service (Case # 48013453 ) and was informed again that this is normal for that model. When driven on an unlit road, one has to run bright lights at all times to be able to safely see. I have included photos of the light pattern. The sequence is backing out of the garage and then on a dark street. Please note photo 2 where I am standing barely to the right and I am not visible above my belt line. In my opinion, If this is typical of all 2017 Nissan Maxima’s; there is a safety issue.
Driver side rear lower suspension broke while driving which caused a wheel misalignment and tire worn within few weeks. Nissan is not recalling any cars but instead they extended the warranty but only fixing the cars when the arms corrode. https://www.nissanassist.com/campaigns/certain-my-2013-2018-nissan-altima-and-certain-my-2016-2018-nissan-maxima-rear-lower-suspension-link
Transmission went out
Car will suddenly and dramatically decelerate creating loss of control and surprising drivers around me expecting me to continue in a clear lane sometimes nearly causing me to rear-ended Car will shut off this feature automatically at times. the AEB malfunction light will illuminate. I have shared this with the dealer 2x - the response is that this isn't covered - even under my Nissan Certified extended warranty purchase
I have had my 2017 Nissan Maxima since 2018. It had 29,963 miles when I purchased it. Since I have had it I put 33,000 miles on it and had all of the recommended service done on at the dealership. This would include having the transmission flushed at 32000 miles. My car currently has 62000 miles on it and the CVT transmission has been slipping and the car shudders at low speeds. I took it to the dealership and they told me that it needed to be replaced. I really feel that Nissan needs to investigate how many transmissions have issues with this low mileage. The standard warranty on the power-train is 60,000 miles, how convenient for them.
Car will auto break without another vehicle around it (in front or behind) causing the car to loose all power for a undermined amount or time before the collision censer comes on and detects a accident w-without there actually being one.
I was driving home from Durango, CO when I hear a big bang, I pulled over to see that my panoramic sunroof exploded. There no debris that flew and hit my car, it just exploded for no reason at all. We called Nissan of Durango where it was purchased as of today we have not heard back from them. This incident took place on 3/5/22 around 3:14 pm. There was no oncoming car, there was a vehicle in the right lane, three land highway. I was going the speed limit of 65 at the time of explosion. It was snowing slightly, but not sticking to the highway. our claim number is 22-7318190 with Progressive Insurance.
My headlights are clouded on the inside from condensation getting inside the light. Nissan says the lights are vented and the water should drain. Water drains but condensation from water has clouded my headlights.
I have been taken my vehicle back and forth for the airbag lights coming on and staying on. They have changed the driver side seatbelt in which they installed in wrong and I had to take it back. Every time they say they fixed the problem, within a few weeks the airbag lights come back on. They have told my husband to check the wiring under the passenger seat, and when I took it back due to the airbag lights still staying on. They say they fixed the problem. This last time I took it back, now they are saying I need to replace the whole driver side seat. Saying something in the seat cushion is faulty, which is why the airbag light stays on.
Is experiencing banging sound coming from rear suspension under the car. Banging noise when going over bumps ,fighting to control vehicle at moderate speeds. Car was brought new, only as 54k miles. I feel I'm being stalled until warranty expires at 60k miles please help.
From a complete stop and in stop and go highway traffic, the car failed to accelerate. The gas pedal was pressed as far as possible but the car would not accelerate. This is dangerous because the issue occurs without any warning and I could have been hit by oncoming traffic. I had the car checked at a Nissan dealership, they kept the car for abour 6 days, they could not replicate the issue and the car did not give a code, so there were no repairs. The issue occured again 5 days later while trying to make a left turn from a traffic light. The car barely acclerated to 9mph. Since the car does not give an error code, the dealership said they could not make any repairs. This issue was also reported to Nissan Consumer Product customer service, who referred me back to the dealership. So no resolutions for this issue.
About two years ago, the driver airbag light came on and has been on. We took the car to Hudson Nissan in Charleston, SC to have it repaired and were informed that we would have to replace the entire seat to replace the sensor to the tune of about $4500.00. Based on a lot of information I have been reading, there has been a recall on certain 2017 Nissan Maximas but not all of them. I believe that my car should be covered under the recall or at least covered by Nissan because the sensors are known to go bad and there is plenty of information available online about this issue.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE REAR PANORAMIC MOON ROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT IMPACT. STARTLED BY THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VALLEY NISSAN OF LONGMONT (1005 KEN PRATT BLVD, LONGMONT, CO 80501) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT AN IMPACT HAD CAUSED THE MOON ROOF TO EXPLODE. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,800.
I PURCHASED NEW VEHICLE MARCH 10TH THE TIRE PRESSURE CAME ON SOON AS I PURCHASED I TOOK THE CAR BACK IT TO BIG O DODGE GET CHECKED OUT BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT KNOW AND TO TAKE IT BY THE NISSAN DEALER. I WENT TO THE NISSAN SERVICE AND ALL FOUR TIRE SENSORS WERE BAD AND NEEDED TO BE FIXED THE DEALER (BIG O DODGE)WOULD NOT HELP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT BELIEVE ME OR THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE FRONT GRILLE AREA OF MY CAR HAD SMALL DAMAGE THAT THEY WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AS WELL.
Nissan has a large issue with the quarter panel moldings. They are a design flaw and come off very easily in car washes or even brushing snow off your car. They will become loose or completely off. If they become loose and you are on the highway like I was and it went flying off the car at highway speed. That clearly is a safety concern that Nissan has been avoiding. However, they are now re-drilling a hole and attaching a new version of the molding. At the owners cost!!! It wasn't an issue but now you are changing the way you attach the new ones? Very odd and they state it's not a safety concern. I beg to differ if you are the car on the highway behind someone's that is loose and comes flying at you. I have read numerous blogs of owners complaining of the same issue. I think we need to get this addressed or see about a class action lawsuit because the way Nissan is reacting to this isn't right.
PURCHASED 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA AT PASSPORT OF MARLOW HEIGHTS ON 3/17/20. TOOK CAR TO FIRST SERVICE AT PASSPORT ON 6/22/20 FOR OIL CHANGE & TIRE ROTATION. AFTER FURTHER ISSUES WITH MY FRONT LEFT WHEEL AND GOING TO SHEEHY OF WALDORF FOR MY SECOND SERVICE I DISCOVERED THAT PASSPORT OF MARLOW HEIGHTS SERVICE ADVISOR DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF "THE LEFT WHEEL STUD ISSUE" WHILE PURCHASING THE CAR AND UNTIL A WEEK AFTER MY INITIAL SERVICE VISIT OF 6/22/20. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT PASSPORT REPORTED A INCORRECT SERVICE DATE OF 6/25/20 TO COVER UP THE LATE MULTI-POINT "LUG NUT" NOTIFICATION. ON 1/8/2021 2ND SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AT SHEEHY OF WALDORF, I REQUESTED OIL CHANGE, TIRE ROTATE, 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE. SHEEHY FOUND: LUG NUTS WERE CROSSED THREADED WHICH CAUSED STUDS TO BE MESSED UP AS WELL. SHEEHY "REPLACED 2 LUG NUTS AND 2 STUDS ON DRIVER FRONT TIRE." FOR AN ADDED AMOUNT OF $251.53. I LEFT SHEEHY OF WALDORF AFTER MY SERVICE AND AS I ACCELERATED, I FELT STRONG VIBRATION AT EACH INTERVAL, I RETURNED TO SHEEHY AND ASKED FOR SOMEONE TO RIDE WITH ME. A SHOP FOREMAN DROVE MY CAR AND HE FELT THE VIBRATION AT EACH INTERVAL. THE FOREMAN TOOK VEHICLE BACK IN GARAGE AND INSPECTED WHEELS "& FOUND THAT THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL HAS BEEN WELDED & THE WELD HAS SPLIT & CRACKED. THE OTHER 3 WHEELS HAVE BENDS IN THE WHEEL & OUT OF ROUND" VIDEO & PHOTO PROVIDED BY SHEEHY. SHEEHY ALSO INFORMED THAT AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON: TOOK CAR BACK TO PASSPORT TO RE-INSPECT WHEELS/RIM/AIR BAG ISSUES THEY CREATED AND AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH I FOUND: AIR BAG RECALL: REPORT RECEIPT DATE: APR 26, 2016 NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 COMPONENT(S): AIR BAGS - AIR BAGS: SENSOR: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION. NOW - PASSPORT IS STATING THAT MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE "RODENTS HAVE CHEWED THRU MY WIRES IN MY ENGINE HARNESS. BASED ON MY RESEARCH PASSPORT KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE, DEALER DIDN'T DISCLOSE ACCIDENT.
A VEHICLE PULLED OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WAS STRUCK MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED FRONT-END DAMAGE THAT TOTALLED MY CAR OUT. MY AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.
2017 NISSAN MAXIMA SL. HAD ABS RECALL SERVICED AT TIM DAHLE NISSAN OF OREM, UTAH. RETRIEVED CAR AFTER SERVICE WAS COMPLETED AND SHORTLY AFTER, MY FRY INTO EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DEACTIVATES AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 5-8 MINUTES EVERY TIME I GET IN MY CAR. WHEN I TURN OFF MY CAR AND RESTART MY CAR, IT WORKS AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WORK WAS PERFORMED AND THEY STATED FIXING THE RECALL WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THIS ISSUE AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK $1XX.XX AND I DON'T RECALL THE ESTIMATED PRICES SHE STATED FOR THE SENSORS, BRACKETS, AND LABOR. I WILL BE CONTACTING NISSAN THEMSELVES TO SEE WHAT OPTION ARE SINCE OTHER 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE PILLAR MOLDING CONTINUES TO FLY OFF WHEN I AM DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE SEPARATE TIMES. THE MOLDING HIT MY WINDSHIELD TWICE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TOO WRECK, AS WELL AS THE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED. NOT TO MENTION THAT IT COST ME $150 EACH TIME IT HAS TO BE REPLACED.
I purchased my car brand new and the leather is cracking insanely. I have met others with the same model and the leather has torn on the seats and arm rest. The leather isn't durable. It's a insult to have such a new car that has these defects. The interrupted leather causes damage to your body whenever you utilize the affected areas which will result in other problems in the near future
I WAS DRIVING THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO WORK TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 5:43 AM; AND I HEARD A LOUD BANG SOUNDING LIKE A SHOTGUN. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH AS I SWERVED AND HEARD WIND NOISE AS IF MY WINDOWS WERE DOWN. AND ALSO COULD HEAR GLASS FALLING ONTO MY SUNROOF SHADE. I FOUND A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER AND SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND WHOA AND BEHOLD MY SUNROOF HAS SHATTERED. IF THE SHADE WAS OPEN THEN THE SHATTERED GLASS COULD HAVE FALEN ON ME POSSIBLY GETTING INTO MY EYES AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
