2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE LEFT SEAT ( DRIVERS ). ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO I NOTICED THAT THE SEAT WAS LOOSE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERS AND THEY FOUND THAT THE AFT LIFT ROD HAD CRACKED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST OVER 1000 DOLLARS. I MADE A REPAIR ON THE SEAT BY WELDING THE BROKEN PART. *TR
A BRACKET ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SEAT HAS BROKEN, AND THE SEAT TILTS TO ONE SIDE AND ALSO FORWARD. IT IS LOOSE AND WILL MOVE FORWARD SEVERAL INCHES WHEN I DECELERATE/ACCELERATE OR GET IN/OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS NOW VERY LOOSE. THE SEAT MOVES UPON EXIT/ENTERING THE CAR AND WHILE DRIVING. A SMALL SUPPORT BRACKET IS BROKEN AND NISSAN CLAIMS THE WHOLE SEAT ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED, COST $1000+. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT SEAT BRACKET SHOULD NOT BREAK UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AND I WAS VERY SURPRISED WHEN I LOOKED AROUND ONLINE AND FOUND MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. HAVE THE DRIVERS SEAT MOVE AROUND WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING SEEMS TO ME LIKE A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO HAD IT'S DRIVER'S SEAT TRACK BREAK WHILE DRIVING. THE SEAT SUDDENLY FELL TO THE LEFT CAUSING THE VEHICLE GO INTO THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAVEL AS MY HANDS ALSO MOVED TOWARD THE MOTION OF THE SEAT. I FOUND THAT THE SEAT TRACK WELD HAD BROKEN FROM ITS FRAME SUPPORT. *TR
I WAS TRAPPED IN MY NISSAN MURANO DURING 115 DEGREE DAY IN ARIZONA FOR 20 MINUTES. I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE TO A FACILITY WHERE I COULD BE FREED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR SOLENOID ONLY PARTIALLY ACTIVATES LOCKING ASSEMBLY ON DRIVERS DOOR AND ONLY PARTIALLY DISENGAGES. THIS CREATES A SITUATION WHERE YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THIS PARTIAL DISENGAGEMENT ALSO KEEPS THE DOOR HANDLE FROM OPENING THE DOOR MANUALLY. EVIDENTIALLY I AM NOT THE ONLY NISSAN OWNER WHO HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE INTERNET HAS NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED OWNERS OF NISSAN VEHICLES WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. NISSAN HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM IN A TIMELY MANNER AND POSSIBLE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY COULD RESULT IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION OR FIRE DUE TO THE INABILITY OF THE DOORS TO BE OPENED MANUALLY DURING THIS PARTIAL LOCK SITUATION. THE DOOR HANDLE SHOULD ALWAYS OPEN FROM THE INSIDE AND OVER-RIDE THE LOCK ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. *TR
2 INCIDENTS 1) BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP COMPLETELY CAUSING ISSUES DURING DRIVING (FALLING INTO DRIVER'S VIEW WHILE DRIVING). I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE WITH ANY OTHER CAR I'VE OWNED (HONDA, FORD, CHEVY, TOYOTA). AVERAGE REPLACEMENT COST PER VISOR IS ~$200.00 WHICH IS A LITTLE STEEP. 2) WHEN CAR REACHED 104,000 MILES, THE DRIVER'S SEAT REAR LEFT BRACKET CRACKED. THIS OCCURRED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN FROM A STOP. DATE OF OCCURRENCE IS MAY 4, 2013. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ONLINE, I FOUND SEVERAL NISSAN MURANOS HAVE THIS ISSUE. THE LEFT REAR SUPPORT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR LONG TERM APPLICATION AND IS A FLAWED DESIGN. I ALSO FOUND SOMEONE THAT WELDED THEIR BRACKET TOGETHER FROM YOUTUBE WHICH MAY BE THE ROUTE I MAY TAKE IF A RECALL IS NOT IMPLEMENTED. AVERAGE REPLACEMENT COST OF DRIVER'S SEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY (HEARD THEY WILL NOT REPLACE JUST THE BRACKET) IS ~$700.00. I ALSO HEARD THERE HAVE BEEN ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS DESIGN FLAW, THOUGH CANNOT CONFIRM. MY HOPES ARE YOU'RE LOOKING INTO THIS. *TR
BROKEN DRIVER'S SEAT. SEAT SEEMS TO HAVE DETACHED FROM BASE AND ROCKS BACK AND FORTH; WHEN TURNING THE ONLY THING HOLDING ME ONTO THE SEAT IS MY SEATBELT. CAR IS A 2005 MURANO WITH 39,700 MILES ON IT PURCHASED NEW. *TR
APPROXIMATELY MAY/JUNE OF 2009, I WAS UNABLE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DRIVER'S DOOR OF MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO WITH KEY FOB. WHEN I ASKED IF THIS COULD BE REPAIRED BY LANDERS NISSAN, SOUTHAVEN, MS, I WAS TOLD COST OF $70 JUST TO LOOK AT PROBLEM. IN MAY OF 2010, I NOTICED THAT THE PROBLEM NOW INCLUDES FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND REAR HATCH LOCK. THE PROBLEM NOW OCCURS APPROXIMATELY 80% OF TIME WITH PASSENGER AND HATCH; 100% OF TIME WITH DRIVER'S DOOR. I HAVE TO PLACE KEY IN LOCK TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DRIVER'S DOOR. (NO DAMAGE OR ACCIDENT TO VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASED NEW IN APRIL 2005). *TR

2005 NISSAN MURANO: I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER'S POWER SEAT. IT ADJUSTS ITSELF RANDOMLY & MAKES CLICKING NOISES, WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT MAINLY SLIDES BACK TO THE FARTHEST POSITION, SO IT IS VERY HARD TO TOUCH THE BRAKE & ACCELERATOR PEDALS. THIS HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY OCCURRING FOR APPROX 7 DAYS. AS OF TODAY, THE BACK OF THE SEAT IS NOW RANDOMLY MOVING FORWARD WHILE I AM DRIVING, SO THAT IT IS IN EFFECT FOLDING ME IN HALF! THIS SEEMS LIKE A VERY DANGEROUS WAY TO DRIVE.. PREVIOUS TO THE SEAT RANDOMLY MOVING ON A REGULAR BASIS (SINCE THE PAST WEEK), THE SEAT FELT LIKE IT WAS TILTED SLIGHTLY TO ONE SIDE. AT FIRST THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE SEAT SOMETIMES WOULD SLIP OUT OF POSITION INTO ANOTHER POSITION. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT 2 OR SO WEEKS BEFORE THE CLICKING NOISES & RANDOM REPOSITIONING STARTED HAPPENING. I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO CHECK INTO THIS SEAT FAILURE AS I FEEL THAT IT IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE SEAT MOVES BACK RANDOMLY WHEN I'M DRIVING & FOR A SHORTER PERSON THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AS THEY MAY NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO TOUCH THE PEDALS IN ORDER TO PULL OVER. DOES THIS WARRANT A SAFETY RECALL?? *TR
DRIVERS SEAT BECAME LOOSE AT REAR BRACKET CAUSING SEAT TO TILT AND BECOME LOOSE. DRIVERS SEAT IS UNSAFE DUE TO BROKEN BRACKET UNDERNEATH SEAT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT WAS NOT PROPERLY ATTACHED TO THE FRAME. AS A CONSEQUENCE WHEN DRIVING THE SEAT MOVES OUT OF ITS POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE CRANK ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT AN EXPENSE OF $1,000. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000. UPDATED 11/24/09.*JB
LIFTER LINK SLIDE ASSEMBLY BROKE IN DRIVER SEAT UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AT 56K MILES. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON MY REAR PASSENGER DOES NOT WORK. THE DOOR IS PERMANENTLY LOCKED, IT CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. TO ME THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.*TR
DRIVER SEAT MOUNT IS BROKEN. THIS HAPPENED TODAY WHILE DRIVING AND WAS QUITE SCARY. I AM THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF MY '05 MURANO SO THE SEAT IS RARELY ADJUSTED. *TR
WHEN LEAVING AN INTERSECTION, THE REAR SEAT BRACKET SNAPPED, LEAVING THE SEAT SAGGING AND FLOPPING WITH THE MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP. SERVICE ADVISOR SEEMED TO MINIMIZE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE DAMAGE. CLAIM HE WAS NOT AWARE OF SIMILAR INCIDENCES. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH REVEALED A PATTERN OF THIS ISSUE WITH THIS SPECIFIC VEHICLE. NISSAN HAS AGREED TO PAY A PORTION OF THE REPAIR, BUT CLAIMS THE DAMAGE IS OUTSIDE WARRANTY. CAR SEATS SHOULD NOT BREAK UNDER NORMAL USE, AND NISSAN NEEDS TO FORMALIZE A RECALL. THIS IS ANOTHER COMPLAINT RELATED TO NHTSA ACTION # PE05050. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT BRACKET BROKE. SEAT NOW ROCKS/ TILTS TOWARDS DOOR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND REAR DRIVER'S SIDE FRAME, LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF THE SEAT, SEPARATED. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SEAT WOULD ROCK BACK AND FORTH. THE BOLTS WERE STILL INTACT, BUT THE ACTUAL SEAT WAS SEPARATED FROM THE FRAME. HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS SAFETY IN THE EVENT OF A POTENTIAL CRASH. THE DEALER DID NOT BELIEVE IT WAS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND COULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS. THE REPAIR COSTS WERE ESTIMATED AT $1,200. CURRENTLY, THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 84,000.
2005 NISSAN MURANO - MECHANISMS CONTROLLING THE DOORS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. I CANNOT EVEN OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY, IT DOES NOT WORK. THE TRUNK IS ALSO BROKEN, I CANNOT OPEN THIS EITHER. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. IF I HAVE A FLAT TIRE, I CANNOT GET TO THE SPARE TIRE BECAUSE I CANNOT OPEN THE TRUNK. MY BROTHER HAS THE SAME CAR AND MODEL/YEAR, HIS CAR LOCKS HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. MY COWORKER HAS A 2004 AND HER LOCKS DOES NOT WORK EITHER. I WAS INFORMED BY MY MECHANIC THAT NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THIS BUT WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE. OFTEN TIMES, THE DOOR FAILURES HAPPEN AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES; THEREFORE THE OWNERS HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE EXPENSES. *TR
THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE OFF IT,S BASE. WHILE TURNING RIGHT, I COULD ACTUALLY FEEL MY BODY LIFT. NISSAN DENIED MY CLAIM FOR REPAIR BECAUSE THE CAR WAS 3YEARS OLD. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CLOSEST SHOP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED FOR SAFETY REASONS. THE BASE WAS ORDERED FROM CONTINENTAL NISSAN AND REPLACED AT A COST OF $972. I FILED A CLAIM WITH NISSAN CORPORATION. IT WAS DENIED ON AUG 28TH PRIMARILY BECAUSE I TOOK THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THERE WAS NO WAY THAT I COULD HAVE DRIVEN AN UNSAFE CAR FOR 4MONTHS UNTIL THAT DECISION WAS MADE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE DECELERATES WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE PRESSURE SENSOR INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOTICED IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 67,000.
THE DRIVERS SEAT IN MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO SUDDENLY COLLAPSED AS THE FRAME BROKE. FORTUNATELY, THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING AT THE TIME SO THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT. I AM NOT A LARGE PERSON AND ONLY WEIGH ABOUT 195 POUNDS. FROM WHAT I GATHER THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THE MURANO AND AN IMPORTANT SAFETY PROBLEM DUE TO A POORLY DESIGNED FRAME. BESIDES THE FACT THAT THIS IS AN $800 TO $1100 REPAIR BILL, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. SO FAR NISSAN HAS BEEN UNWILLING TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE NHTSA CALL FOR A MANDATORY RECALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT CONNECTION RAIL FAILS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS CAUSING UNSTABLE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS HAPPENED SUDDENLY A FEW MONTHS AGO WHILE I WAS STEERING THROUGH A TURN. THE SEAT RAIL SNAPPED, AND THE SEAT BECAME DETACHED ON ONE SIDE CAUSING MY WEIGHT TO SHIFT UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY WANTED $1,100 TO REPAIR IT. $700 FOR 12" LONG SEAT RAIL. I ENDED UP HAVING ANOTHER AUTO SERVICE WELD THE BROKEN RAIL BACK TOGETHER FOR HALF THE COST, BUT AS OF TODAY IT HAS BROKEN AGAIN. I'M 6' TALL 200 LBS AND THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN MOSTLY IN CITY DRIVING CONDITIONS. THERE IS NO REASON FOR A SEAT RAIL TO BREAK UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. *TR
1. MY WIFE NOTICED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING HER NISSAN MURANO (2005) TODAY, THAT THE SEAT STARTED TO FEEL LOOSE AND LEAN BACK TO THE LEFT. SHE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND PUSHED ON THE SEAT AND NOTED A SIGNIFICANT DROP ON PUTTING PRESSURE DOWN ON THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE OF THE SEAT. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE SEAT HAS BEEN UNSTABLE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE SEAT TONIGHT THE BAR CONNECTING THE SEAT TO THE UNDERLYING STRUCTURE HAD BROKEN. THIS OCCURRED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE ON THE BACK BAR. THE METAL HAD WORN AND THERE WERE SHARP EDGES ON BOTH SIDES. THERE HAD BEEN NO PREVIOUS DAMAGE OR ABNORMALITY WITH THE SEAT PRIOR TO TODAY (4-23-2009). *TR
DRIVING ON 4/20/2009 ON THE LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY. WITHOUT WARNING, THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE OR DETACHED OFF ITS LEFT RAIL. *TR
THE 2005 NISSAN MURANO WE OWN WAS PURCHASED USED. SINCE WE HAVE HAD IT (ALMOST A YEAR) THERE HAVE BEEN ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT HAVE MAINLY AFFECTED THE DOOR LOCKS. IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THESE PROBLEMS HAVE AFFECTED MANY OTHER NISSAN MURANO OWNERS. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, WE CANNOT USE THE UNLOCK THE DOORS USING THE REMOTE AND FURTHER, THE DOORS DO NOT UNLOCK USING THE UNLOCK SWITCH INSIDE THE VEHICLE. ONE OF THE MAIN SAFETY CONCERNS IS THAT OF LATE I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR ON A REGULAR BASIS BECAUSE THE LOCK HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND HAVE HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM OTHER DOORS. I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND THE EXTRA EXERTION TO TRY TO LEAVE THE CAR IS BOTH UNWANTED AND PAINFUL. IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT OR SOME OTHER EVENT WHERE THE DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD BE THE ONLY CHOICE OF ESCAPE IT IS EXTREMELY POSSIBLE THAT I WOULD BE LOCKED IN THE CAR AND UNABLE TO GET OUT BECAUSE OF THE LOCKS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CONTINUALLY REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT OCCURS IN MANY OF THE MURANO MODEL CARS AND WANT TO CHARGE WELL OVER $1000 TO FIX THE DOOR LOCKS. WE ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND A MORE AFFORDABLE AND REASONABLE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL THUS FAR. I AM OFTEN UNWILLING TO DRIVE THE CAR OUT OF FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND WILL SOMETIMES DRIVE MY HUSBAND'S CAR INSTEAD, INCONVENIENCING HIM.
TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH OVER A BUMPY ROAD SURFACE THE DRIVER SIDE SUNVISOR RELEASED IN A DOWNWARD POSITION INTERMITTENTLY. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE ENCOUNTERED BUMPY ROAD CONDITIONS THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000. UPDATED 11/16/10. *LJ
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 NISSAN MURANO WITH APPROX. 60K MILES. TO MY SURPRISE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE SEAT BEGAN TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH FOR NO APPARENT REASON. AFTER TAKING THE CAR INTO OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE WELDS ON THE DRIVERS SEAT HAD BROKEN AT THE BASE AND THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS REPAIR WOULD COST AROUND $1,000 TO REMEDY. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ONLINE, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS INDEED A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH NISSAN MURANO'S, BUT NISSAN CORP. HAS NOT ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. SOME OWNERS HAVE STATED THAT THEY WERE DRIVING WHEN THIS DEFECT OCCURRED AND IT CAUSED THE DRIVER TO VEER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO THE SURPRISE OF THE SEAT FALLING TOWARDS THE DRIVERS DOOR. AFTER SPEAKING WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ISSUED AND THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CORRECTION OF THIS SAFETY DEFECT. SOME OWNERS HAVE PAID TO HAVE THIS ISSUE CORRECTED, ONLY TO HAVE IT OCCUR YET AGAIN. *TR
ALL THE ACTUATOR MOTORS ON OUR 2005 NISSAN MURANO SUSPICIOUSLY WENT BAD AT THE SAME TIME. THE CAR IS MUCH EASIER TO GAIN ENTRY TO FROM A POSSIBLE THIRD PARTY. IN BOTH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND NEIGHBORHOODS WE MAY PARK THE VEHICLE, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY BREAK-INS. IF THE DOORS ARE NOT EASY TO LOCK, A POTENTIALLY HOSTILE PARTY COULD GAIN ENTRY TO THE VEHICLE WITH THE DRIVER IN IT AND CAUSE BODILY INJURY IF NOT DEATH. WHILE THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM FAILURE IS INTERMITTENT, INABILITY TO HAVE CONSTANT RELIANCE ON THE DOOR LOCKS IS DANGEROUS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THE DOOR LOCKS ON MY 2005 MURANO DO NOT ALWAYS UNLOCK WHEN I PUSH THE UNLOCK BUTTON. IF THIS HAPPENS AFTER AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS AND ESCAPE AS THE DOORS WON'T OPEN WHEN LOCKED. THIS HAS BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SINCE JANUARY. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF MY 2005 NISSSAN MURANO ROCKS FROM SIDE TO SIDE. IT IS UNSTABLE. I THOUGHT IT WAS OFF TRACK BUT AFTER LOOKING CLOSELY UNDERNEATH THE SEAT I NOTICED THAT THE METAL BRACKET THAT BRACES THE SEAT WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. THE SEAT IS NOT SECURED TO THE CAR. IT IS UNSAFE. I PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW; I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I WENT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE REPAIR WOULD COST $708 FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART (THE ENTIRE TRACK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS ONE PIECE), PLUS $500 FOR LABOR. I DECLINED THE REPAIR DUE TO THE EXORBITANT COST AND CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE. I TOLD THE COMPANY THAT THIS WAS A COMMON DEFECT IN THEIR CARS (AS RESEARCHED ON THIS SITE) AND REQUESTED FOR THE COMPANY TO COVER OR REIMBURSE THE REPAIR. MY CALL WAS RETURNED AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS OUTSIDE OF MY WARRANTY AND "NISSAN WAS NOT IN THE POSITION" TO COVER THE REPAIR AT THIS TIME. THEY DO NOT RECOGNIZE IT AS A FAULT IN THEIR CRAFTSMANSHIP. I DISAGREE. A BROKEN METAL PIECE THAT SECURES A SEAT TO THE DECK IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND SHOULD BE A PART THAT LASTS FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE CAR. *TR

THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS ONLY ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN AND DOES NOT COVER THIS UNDER THE VEHICLE WARRANTY. WHILE DISPENSING FUEL THE AUTOMATIC NOZZLE CLICKED OFF CONTINUOUSLY. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
BOUGHT IT USED. DRIVERS SEAT HAD PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING HAD IT IN TO HAVE THEM FIX IT THEN IT STARTED ACTING OUT AGAIN. WOULD RUN THE MOTOR AND MOVE THE SEAT WHEN YOU POWERED OFF. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS FLASHING IN THE DASH AGAIN. I HAD THIS PROBLEM FIXED ONCE BEFORE WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THE NORTH LITTLE ROCK DEALERSHIP. ON LEAVING THE GARAGE WITHIN JUST A MILE, I MADE A LEFT TURN AND HEARD A CRUNCHING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND IT CAME BACK ON. I WENT STRAIT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT BUT THE (SECOND REPLACEMENT PART) WOULDN'T BE IN TILL THE NEXT DAY SO I WAS GIVEN A LOANER FOR ONE DAY. NOW IT'S BACK ON AGAIN. ALSO NOTED SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THAT THE LUMBAR SUPPORT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NO LONGER INFLATES/DEFLATES AND HASN'T WORKED SINCE. I HAVE HAD ALL RECALLS FIXED AND HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AT 37,000 MILES AT MY COST. ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP RESURFACE BOTH FRONT ROTORS AND REPLACE A REAR CALIPER UNDER WARRANTY THAT HAD LOCKED UP 1 & 1/2 YEARS AGO. I SEE THAT THE FRONT ROTORS ARE IN NEED OF RESURFACING AGAIN EVEN THOUGH THE BREAK PADS HAVE 1/2 OF THERE WEAR LEFT TO GO. DUE TO THE HIGHLY CHROMED /CURVED DIPSTICK, GETTING AN ACCURATE OIL LEVEL READING IS NOT POSSIBLE AT ANY TIME, SO THE DIPSTICK HAS ONLY BEEN REMOVED THREE TIME SINCE PURCHASING IT AS IT IS A POINTLESS ENDEAVOR. I OWN SIX AUTOS THAT RANGE IN AGE FROM 1972 THREW THIS 2005 MURANO AND OF ALL OF THEM, THE MURANO IS THE LEAST TRUSTED ONE. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER NISSAN. *TR

THE CONTACT WEIGHS 180 POUNDS AND STATED THAT SOMETHING IN THE SEAT STRUCTURE WAS FLAWED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD COST OVER $1,200. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 38,000.

THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED ON MY NISSAN MURANO IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN OKLAHOMA CITY. MY WIFE AND 5 YR OLD SON IN THE VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SHE WAS ALMOST RUN OVER.
