THE ABS LIGHT, CRASH SENSOR LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE THE CAR IS ON. THE THREE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AT THE SAME TIME, AND WILL REMAIN ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON EACH TIME THE CAR IS STARTED, AND WHEN THEY DO COME ON, IT IS NOT ONLY AT THE TIME OF START UP. THEY USUALLY COME ON AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. THEY HAVE COME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, STARTING UP FROM A RED LIGHT, WHILE DRIVING (VARIOUS SPEEDS), ETC. THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO WHEN THE LIGHTS COME ON. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON, NOTHING ELSE IS GOING ON WITH THE CAR--ONLY NORMAL USAGE--NO WEIRD SOUNDS, FEELINGS, ETC. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS. PER THE DEALERSHIP, THE ABS SENSORS, THE SPEED CONTROL SENSORS AND THE ACTUATOR HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED, BUT THE LIGHTS STILL PRESENT THEMSELVES. NISSAN TECHNICIANS HAVE ADVISED THAT THEY WILL NEED TO BRING A NISSAN ENGINEER TO HELP THEM WITH THE ISSUE. THE CAR IS NOT EVEN 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS 19K MILES ON IT. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT I SHOULD BE DEALING WITH AND IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED PERMANENTLY SO IT IS NOT A RECURRING ISSUE.
MY MURANO STARTS SOMETIMES, AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T START AT ALL.NISSAN DIAGNOSTIC WAS ELETRICAL ISSUES, THEY CHANGED THE IPDM, CHANGED THE ELETRICAL DASHBOARD, IT WORKED FOR 11/2 WEEKS, AND WON'T START AGAIN. THIS CAR IS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES. APPARENTLY NISSAN CAN'T FIX THIS PROBLEM. I'M DESPERATE FOR HELP, CAUSE I'M STILL PAYING FOR THIS CAR. IT'S CURRENTLY IN MY GARAGE, IT HAS STOPPED ME THREE TIMES ON THE ROAD, AND TWICE, IN MY GARAGE COULDN'T START
WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED ON MY 2017 NISSAN MURANO, A MESSAGE APPEARS ON DASH: UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION. THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGES AT THAT POINT, REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO USE THE ACCELERATOR. AT THAT POINT, I THINK THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING IS ALSO DISABLED. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 38000 MILES ON IT AND IS 2 YEARS OLD. THE FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM HAS INCREASED OVER TIME. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE SENSOR AT THE FRONT BUMPER IS CLEAN. THIS ERROR WILL HAPPEN ON DAYS WITH NO RAIN OR SNOW. AT FIRST, IT ERRORED WHEN EXITING A TUNNEL, BUT NOW IT OCCURS RANDOMLY (BUT SO FAR ONLY WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL). SINCE IT IS OVER THE 36000 MILE WARRANTY, NISSAN REQUIRES A DIAGNOSIS FROM THE DEALER. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE A RECALL. I ALSO RECENTLY RENTED A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA WHILE ON VACATION, AND IT WAS REALLY BAD. IT ERRORED ABOUT EVERY 5 MINUTES, EVEN WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL. NISSAN HAS A RECALL FOR THE ROGUE MODEL. ACCORDING TO INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET, THE PROBLEM IS A SENSOR MANUFACTURED BY BOSCH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ORR NISSAN OF WICHITA (10625 E KELLOGG DR, WICHITA, KS 67207, (316) 681-6900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DISTANCE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. VEHICLE FORWARD COLLISION INDICATOR ALARM KEEPS GOING OFF EVERY FEW MINUTES DISABLING CRUISE CONTROL AFTER TEN MINUTES OR SO IT CLEARS OUT THEN AFTER TEN MINUTES IT GOES OFF AGAIN GOING THROUGH THE SAME CYCLE OVER AND OVER END RESULT MALFUNCTIONING COLLISION SENSING CAUSING NO CRUISE CONTROL WITH AUDIBLE ALARM GOING OFF OVER AND OVER WHILE DRIVING
LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP IS PUTTING UP BARRIERS TO MY RECALL REPAIR. ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, I WAS TOLD THAT 'WE DON'T DO RECALL REPAIRS ON THE WEEKEND'. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEIR LABOR COSTS ON THE WEEKEND ARE MY PROBLEM. I CALLED ON A MONDAY MORNING WHEN I WAS ON VACATION FROM WORK. NOT ONLY COULD THE SERVICE MANAGER NOT CONFIRM FOR ME WHETHER THEY HAD THE NECESSARY PARTS ON HAND TO REPAIR MY RECALL...SHE ALSO SAID THEY ONLY DO IT BY APPOINTMENT AND NEED 1 WEEKS NOTICE!! SO I AM BEING EXPECTED TO BRING MY CAR IN TWICE (ONCE FOR THEM TO 'LOOK AT IT AND CONFIRM I'M ON THE RECALL LIST, AND A 2ND TIME TO GET THE REPAIR DONE). HOW IS IT THAT THE MANUFACTURER MAKES A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT, YET I AM EXPECTED TO JUMP THROUGH ALL THESE HOOPS, TAKE TIME OFF OF WORK (VACATION TIME) TO MEET ALL OF THEIR TERMS OF FIXING A MISTAKE THAT NISSAN MADE. BUT HEY, THEY WERE SURE TO GET THOSE NOTICES MAILED OUT SUPER FAST, TO GIVE ME THE IMPRESSION THEY CARED ABOUT MY SPOUSES LIFE/DEATH RISK EVERY DAY WHEN SHE DRIVES A FLAWED PRODUCT TO/FROM WORK. SO UNACCOMMODATING AND ARROGANT OF NISSAN TO PUT THEIR CUSTOMERS THROUGH THIS GAUNTLET.
MY AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM AND CRUISE CONTROL DISABLES ITSELF. COMPONENT FROM BOSCH. THE FLAW IN THE RADAR UNIT ALLOWS THE SENSOR TO FREQUENTLY DEACTIVATE ITSELF, DISABLING CRUISE CONTROL AND EMERGENCY BRAKING. WHEN THE SENSOR TURNS ITSELF OFF, DRIVERS ARE SEEING A WARNING IN THE DASH THAT SAYS, 'FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION.' THIS HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES IN A GIVEN DAY.
THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND LOST ABILITY TO STOP, STEER, AND RESTART. WHEN CAR CAME TO A STOP I TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT STALL. CAR WAS FULL OF GAS AND ALL FLUID LEVELS ARE FINE. THE CAR HAS 20K MILES SO NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS EXIST. THIS HAPPENED IN LAS VEGAS WHILE THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 108. I SAW THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER NISSAN CARS IN LAS VEGAS PER YOUTUBE VIDEOS. PLEASE HELP! I AM AFRAID IT MAY DO SO AGAIN AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED TODAY AND AFTER LEAVING THE CAR PARKED FOR 2 HOURS STARTED WORKING FINE.
VEHICLE HAS 35,700 MILES ON IT. BOUGHT THE VEHICLE JUNE OF 2018 WITH 30,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH OR FASTER AND YOU GO AND TRY TO PASS SLOWER TRAFFIC WHETHER IT'S ON THE HIGHWAY OR FREEWAY AND YOU TURN THE WHEEL TO CHANGE LANES WHILE PRESSING DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR TO SPEED UP, THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT DOWN SHIFT AND SPEED UP. THE RPM GAUGE INCREASES AND THE ENGINE REVS HIGH BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT INCREASE IN SPEED. AFTER YOU STRAIGHTEN OUT THE STEERING WHEEL THE VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN DOWN SHIFTS AND TAKES OFF. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR PEOPLE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC TO PASS CAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT INCREASE IN SPEED AND IT LEAVES YOU TOOLING ALONG IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT IS UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND I TOOK VEHICLE INTO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THAT COULD BE DONE BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY TROUBLE CODES STORED IN THE VEHICLES SYSTEM. IT DOES THIS AT LEAST ONCE PER MONTH AND NO TROUBLE LIGHTS COME ON INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER ABOUT THIS AND NOTHING HAS COME OF IT. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE INQUIRIES ABOUT THIS ONLINE TO NISSAN DIRECTLY AND VEHICLE MECHANIC TYPE SITES. I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM NISSAN THEMSELVES BUT OTHER MECHANIC TYPE SITES HAVE COME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION, IT HAS TO BE THE A COMPUTER MODULE OR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM OR MODULES THEMSELVES. NO TROUBLE CODES THEREFORE NOTHING IS WRONG, IS NISSAN'S STANCE. FOR WHAT I HAVE READ, OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND NISSAN HAS NOT BEEN ANY HELP, WHICH SURPRISES ME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF YOU PULL OUT TO PASS IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND THE VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE IT IS DANGEROUS. IF YOU PULL INTO.THE LEFT LANE ON THE FREEWAY TO PASS AND CAN'T, IT IS DANGEROUS!
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 15 - 20 MPH ON A CITY STREET, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS A 3 BEEP WARNING THEN THE CAR STOPPED ABRUPTLY. THE DEALER, CENTRAL AVENUE NISSAN IN YONKERS, NY. CHECKED THE SYSTEM AND RECEIVED CODE C1B55 (ELSEWHERE IN THE REPORT CITED, C1355), RADAR BLOCKAGE, (STORED PAST CODE). THE TECHNICIAN ATTRIBUTED THIS TO "SIDE RADAR BLOCKAGE" THEY CHECKED THE AREA OF THE SENSOR AND FOUND NO DEBRIS. NISSAN SERVICE WAS NOT CLEAR WHY A FALSE SIDE RADAR BLOCKAGE WARNING SHOULD TRIGGER ABRUPT BRAKING. ALSO, THEY DIDN'T ACTUALLY FIX ANY PROBLEM. THE REPORT IS AVAILABLE IF REQUESTED AND CONTAINS SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION FROM THE SERVICE DIAGNOSTICS NOT GENERALLY SHOWN TO THE CUSTOMER.
WHILE ACCELERATING MIXED BETWEEN PULLING FROM ZERO MPH UPWARDS OF 40MPH THE VEHICLE HAS A HIGH PITCHED SQUEALING SOUND. THIS HAPPENS ON ANY ROADWAY WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN THE BRAKES ARE BEING USED, ONLY WHILE ACCELERATING AND PUSHING THE THROTTLE. MY TRANSMISSION WILL SOMETIMES HESITATE OR 'THINK' WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO ANOTHER GEAR. SOMETIMES IT IS VERY LOUD WAS A LARGE 'THUNK' SOUND COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. THE CAR ALSO SEEMS TO MAKE A WHINING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING OUT OF DIFFERENT GATES. (PARK, REVERSE, DRIVE, ETC) I HAVE HAD THE DEALERSHIP CHECK MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAY IT IS NORMAL OPERATION. I'VE TAKEN OUT OTHER NISSAN MURANO'S IN THE SAME MODEL AND IT DOES NOT DO THIS.
FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION WARNING COMES ON AND AND CRUISE WILL TURN OFF AND VEHICLE WILL START QUICKLY SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAPPENS IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. AFTER ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES THE WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF AND I CAN RESET THE CRUISE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNLESS THERE IS A RECALL.
DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN LOUD SHOTGUN BLAST SOUND ABOVE RESULTING FROM THE SUNROOF EXPLODING. NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT TO SAY A ROCK HIT IT NOR ANYTHING ABOVE LIKE AN OVERPASS TO DROP SOMETHING FROM.
RADAR COLLISION DETECTION ISSUES. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2017, WE'VE BEEN RECEIVING PERIODIC WARNINGS "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION" AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE ISSUE IS GETTING WORSE. ON A 2 HOUR DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE THIS PAST WEEKEND, WE WOULD SEE THE MESSAGE OVER 10 TIMES AND THIS CAUSES THE CRUISE CONTROL TO STOP. THIS SEEMS TO MOST OFTEN OCCUR IF THERE IS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US THAT CHANGES LANES. THIS ISSUE ALSO OCCURS DRIVING AROUND TOWN, IT'S NOT ONLY ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS REALLY IMPACTING OUR SAFETY BECAUSE THE WARNING MESSAGE SCARES WHOEVER IS DRIVING THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG. I HAVE TOLD NISSAN OF THIS ISSUE AS EARLY AS SUMMER 2019 AND THEY MADE ADJUSTMENTS, BUT IT ISN'T FIXED. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO PUT IN THE 'WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN' FIELD BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. *TR
DRIVING DOWN AN OPEN PAVED COUNTY ROAD, DRIVING STRAIGHT AT AROUND 60 MPG. NO CARS IN SIGHT, NO TREES OR BUILDING NEAR THE ROAD AND WE HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WE LOOKED AROUND AND COULDN'T TELL WHAT HAPPENED. I LOOKED UP AND THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE MOONROOF THEN GLASS STARTED FALLING. MY KIDS IN THE BACKSEAT HAD MORE GLASS THAN THE FRONT. THE GLASS THAT WAS REMAINING WAS CURVED UP WHICH SEAMED STRANGE BECAUSE NO ONE TOUCHED THE ROOF. WE HAVE A PANORAMIC MOONROOF BUT IT WAS ONLY THE MOVABLE PIECE EXPLODED. ROOF AND WINDOWS WERE CLOSED, IT WAS 85 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND WE HAD THE AIR CONDITIONING ON. I CALLED NISSAN AND OPENED AN INCIDENT AND THEY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY STATING GLASS ISN'T COVERED AND SINCE THERE IS NO EVIDENCE SHOWING IT EXPLODED AND WASN'T HIT THEY ARE NOT LIABLE. I HAVE FULL COVERAGE GLASS INSURANCE SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY EITHER WAY IT IS THE POINT THAT THIS IS NOT MY FAULT AND AFTER LOOKING AT ALL OF THE SAME ISSUES WITH THESE GLASS ROOFS IT SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAR MANUFACTURER.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2017 NISSAN MURANO A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. AFTER 6 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP, WHILE IN MOTION ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY MY CAR WILL BEEP AND SHOW "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION". IT THEN TURNS OFF MY ABILITY TO HAVE CRUISE CONTROL AND REMOVES AEB AND FEB FEATURES. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT LOOKS LIKE SEVERAL NISSAN OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE BECAUSE OF A FAULTY RADAR. NISSAN REPLACED THE RADAR ONCE BUT THAT RADAR IS NOW BAD TOO. THE AEB, FEB, AND CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT WORK IN MY CAR. NISSAN STATES THEY WILL NOT ASSIST IN REPLACING THE RADAR AGAIN BECAUSE THEY HAVE REPLACED IT BEFORE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH A POTENTIAL RECALL IN MY OPINION.
ANTI LOCK BRAKE PUMP CAN LEAK BREAK FLUID ONTO CIRCUIT BOARD CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND CAUSE A FIRE RISK. NISSAN RECOMMENDS PARKING VEHICLES (IN MY CASE A MURANO PLATINUM 2017) OUTSIDE. IF DRIVERS SEE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WARNING FOR MORE THAN 10 SEC AFTER ENGINE START, DO NOT DRIVE VEHICLE. PROBLEM- MY CAR VIN DID NOT COME UP ON THE RECALL SO I NEVER RECEIVED THE WARNING. I EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL FIRE UNDER HOOD (PASSENGER SIDE) WHEN CAR WAS OFF AND PARKED INSIDE MY GARAGE. WE HAPPEN TO BE HOME AND SMELL SMOKE. CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE TO URGE THE RECALL BE ISSUED AGAIN.
MY CAR HAS A FRONT EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. THE SENSOR FOR THIS SYSTEM IS LOCATED AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR, UNDERNEATH ONE OF THE HEAD LIGHTS. THE SENSOR DETECTS WHEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU HAS STOPPED. AS YOU GET CLOSER TO THE VEHICLE, IF YOU DO NOT STOP, THE CAR WILL SOUND A 3-BEEP ALERT NOTIFYING YOU TO STOP. IF YOU STILL DO NOT STOP, THE CAR WILL APPLY THE BRAKES AND FORCE THE CAR TO STOP TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. ONE NIGHT, I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A CITY STREET, WHEN THE 3-BEEP ALERT SOUNDED, AND THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY STARTED FLASHING RED AND WHITE LIGHTS. THERE WAS A MESSAGE ON THE DISPLAY STATING THAT A CRASH WAS IMMINENT. THEN THE BRAKES ENGAGED SUDDENLY, AND THE CAR ALMOST CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. THE BRAKES ENGAGED SO HARD AND SO QUICKLY, THAT IT THREW ME FORWARD IN THE SEAT. AT THE TIME, THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME COMING TO A SUDDEN STOP AND NO CRASH WAS IMMINENT. THE CLOSEST CAR TO ME WAS 2-3 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD, AND IT HAD NOT STOPPED. THANKFULLY, THE STREET WAS NOT BUSY AT THE TIME, AND THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, AND THERE ARE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS, BUT NISSAN WON'T ISSUE A RECALL. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO 2 NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY WON'T REPLACE THE SENSOR. THE FIRST DEALER TOLD ME MY SENSOR WAS DIRTY, BUT THAT DOESN'T EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, IF THE SENSOR IS DIRTY, THERE WILL BE A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY INDICATING THE SENSOR IS OBSTRUCTED, AND THE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM WILL TURN OFF. THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. THE SECOND NISSAN DEALER DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON MY CAR AND RESET THE SENSOR. I KEEP BEING TOLD TO BRING THE CAR BACK IF THE ISSUE HAPPENS AGAIN, BUT THIS IS NOT THE KIND OF ISSUE YOU WANT TO WAIT TO HAVE HAPPEN AGAIN. WHAT IF I AM ON A BUSY STREET OR THE HIGHWAY? I COULD HAVE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS.

THIS HAPPENS ARBITRARILY AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING REGARDLESS OF DAY OR NIGHT OR WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE SYSTEM WILL BE OPERABLE AGAIN IN 10 OR 15 MINUTES. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO NISSAN. THEY SAID IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THEY ARE RESEARCHING THE CAUSE. HOWEVER NISSAN DIDN'T ALERT ME TO THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NO EVIDENCE NISSAN IS REALLY WORKING ON A SOLUTION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN THE RADAR SYSTEM STOPS THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND THE CAR BEGINS TO DECELLERATE. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS THIS MAY STARTLE OR CONFUSE THE DRIVER AND LEAD TO PANIC OR ABRUPT MANUVERS.

HAVE HAD IT REPLACED, AND CHECKED THREE TIMES AT DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE ISSUE. BUT IT CONTINUES TO OCCUR DAILY. MAY BE DEFECTIVE FABRIC OR RETRACTABLE MECHANISM?
WHEN MAKING SHARP TURN (LEFT OR RIGHT) INTO FAST MOVING TRAFFIC AND DRIVING STRAIGHT AFTER THE TURN, WHILE PUSHING ACCELERATOR PEDAL HARD, THE RPM WILL GO UP HIGH BUT THE SPEED WILL NOT (IT WILL INCREASE VERY SLOWLY). THE RPM WOULD STAY HIGH (5000 TO 6000) THERE WILL BE LOTS OF NOISE FROM THE DRIVE TRAIN BUT NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO LOWER THE RPM. IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CVT WORK PROPERLY AFTER THAT, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAS TO BE FULLY RELEASED AND THE RPM WILL HAVE TO GO DOWN. I CAN REPLICATE THIS CONDITION MOST OF THE TIME (IT DEPENDS ON WHETHER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PUSHED HARD ENOUGH WHILE TURNING), AND IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE PURCHASE OF THIS CAR. AT THE DEALERSHIP GARAGE I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THERE IS NO FAULT CODE THEY CAN'T HELP AND REFUSED TO TAKE A RIDE IN THE CAR.

TOOK IT BACK AND THEY NOW SAY NISSAN IS "ENGINEERING" THE PROBLEM AND DON'T RECOMMEND A FIX. TOOK IT ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 75MPH WHEN IT WENT OFF AND IT DISABLED MY CRUISE CONTROL. THAT WAS QUITE STARTLING AND IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. THE TRANSMISSION IN QUESTION IS VERY UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE IT ALMOST STOPS FOR A FEW SECONDS. WE HAVE SECONDS AWAY FROM 18 WHEELERS CRASHING INTO US, OR CARS WHERE YOU HAVE TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC. WHAT BOTHERS ME IS MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. SOMETIMES WITH MY DAUGHTER, AND GRANDSON. WHERE WE LIVE BIG TRUCKS HAULING WOOD TO THE PAPER MILL HAVE ALMOST CRASHED INTO US ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, SAME WITH CARS.SOME EVEN SHOWING ROAD RAGE WHEN MY WIFE IS MINDING HER OWN BUSINESS, AND SAME WITH ME. THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED US TO KNOW THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS DOING THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS. KEY FOBS AND AUTO START DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK. MURANO WILL BE PARKED AND OFF AND I WALK UP WITHIN 15 FT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND TRY TO AUTOSTART AND IT CONSISTENTLY ONLY WORKS ABOUT 1 IN 4 TRIES. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED BOTH FOBS AND BATTERIES AND STILL NOT WORKING EVERY SINGLE TIME. ALSO, SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR, I GET IN AND PLACE FOOT ON BRAKE AND PUSH BUTTON TO START AND IT WILL NOT START, TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL START!!!
THE CAMERA ON THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS DAMAGED BY SOMETHING OFF THE ROAD CRACKING THE LENSES AND, AS A RESULT, CAUSING MY CRUISE CONTROL NOT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY AS WELL. I COULD NOT USE MY DRIVING SAFETY CONTROLS THAT CONTROLLED DISTANCES BETWEEN VEHICLES ALSO. THIS WAS A POOR DESIGN FLAW AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY ORIGINAL WARRANTY PERIOD OF 3 YEAR/36000 MILES. THE SUN REFLECTS DIRECTLY INTO THE DRIVER WHEN THERE IS MORNING OR AFTERNOON SUN AND THE SUN VISOR CANNOT BE POSITIONED LOW ENOUGH TO BLOCK THE REFLECTION. THIS REFLECTION CAN TEMPORARILY BLIND THE DRIVER WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. I AM TRADING THIS CAR IN FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.
WHILE ON A RECENT ROAD TRIP DURING DRY CONDITIONS. WE HAVE STARTED RECEIVING A POP UP MESSAGE RELATING TO THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ON OUR DISPLAY - FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION. THIS HAS NOT AFFECTED BRAKING TO OUR KNOWLEDGE AND FOLLOWING THE RESET STEPS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL DID NOTHING.

THE TECHNICIAN STARTED THE CAR TO PULL IT IN THE SHOP AND THE WARNING CAME ON. THEY TRACED THE PROBLEM TO A SENSOR. THE SENSOR IS NOT AVAILABLE AND IS ON BACKORDER. IN THE MEAN TIME THE CRUISE DOES NOT OPERATE AND THE FRONT COLLISION AVOIDANCE DOES NOT WORK (WAITING 5 WEEKS NOW). CANNOT DEPEND UPON THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE EVEN THOUGH THEY ADVERTISE IT.
I HAVE A 2017 NISSAN MURANO. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 12 IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR. THE SUNROOF GLASS AND HEADLINER WERE BOTH CLOSED. I SLIGHTLY OPENED THE HEADLINER AND COULD SEE THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND LOOKED ON TOP OF THE CAR TO FIND THE FRONT SECTION OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF HAD COMPLETELY EXPLODED AND WAS SHATTER. THE GLASS WAS ACTUALLY PROTRUDING UPWARD SO IT WAS OBVIOUS NOTHING HAD FALLING FROM THE SKY ON TOP OF IT. THE GLASS, THEN GAVE WAY AND COMPLETELY FELL ON THE FABRIC HEADLINER. WE THEN SPENT THE NEXT HOUR AND A HALF ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK WHERE THE VEHICLES WAS THEN TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER. AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT, IT WAS 75 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND CLEAR DAY. I WAS DRIVING 55 MILES PER HOUR.

I HAD MY VEHICLE LOOKED AT BY THE DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER SINCE THERE WERE NO CODES, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN TROUBLESHOOTING IF THERE ARE NO CODES. THE DATE LISTED IS APPROXIMATE.
I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE GLARE FROM THE HOOD THAT BLINDS ME WHEN I'M DRIVING. WHEN THE SUN SHINES ON THE HOOD IT CAUSES A GLARE THAT PREVENTS THE DRIVER FROM SEEING THE ROAD. IN FACT, ONLY THE FRONT HALOGEN LIGHTS WERE ON BUT NO RUNNING LIGHTS ON THE SIDE OR REAR. I ONLY DISCOVERED THE SITUATION AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL MILES, WITH DRIVERS BEHIND ME OCCASIONALLY FLASHING THEIR LIGHTS TO SIGNAL ME. THIS EQUIPMENT BEHAVIOR IS VERY DECEIVING AND DANGEROUS.
MY CAR HAS A FRONT EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS LOCATED AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR, IN LOWER GRILLE. THE SENSOR DETECTS WHEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU HAS STOPPED. AS YOU GET CLOSER TO THE VEHICLE, IF YOU DO NOT STOP, THE CAR WILL SOUND A 3-BEEP ALERT NOTIFYING YOU TO STOP. IF YOU STILL DO NOT STOP, THE CAR WILL APPLY THE BRAKES AND FORCE THE CAR TO STOP TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT., I WAS DRIVING HOME, WHEN THE 3-BEEP ALERT SOUNDED, AND THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY STARTED FLASHING RED AND WHITE LIGHTS. A MESSAGE ON THE DISPLAY STATED THAT A CRASH WAS IMMINENT. THEN THE BRAKES ENGAGED SUDDENLY, AND THE CAR ALMOST CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. THE BRAKES ENGAGED SO HARD AND SO QUICKLY, THAT IT THREW ME FORWARD IN THE SEAT. AT THE TIME, THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME COMING TO A SUDDEN STOP AND NO CRASH WAS IMMINENT. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, AND THERE ARE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS, BUT NISSAN WON'T ISSUE A RECALL. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY WON'T REPLACE THE SENSOR. THE DEALER TOLD ME MY SENSOR BRACKET WAS SLIGHTLY BENT, BUT THE VEHILE WAS BOUGHT NEW AND NEVER IN AN ACCEDENT I ASKED IF THE BRAKET WAS INSTALLED FORM THE FACTORY SLIGHTLY BENT THEY SAID IT COULD OF BEEN? THIS DOESN'T EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, IF THE SENSOR BRACKET WAS BENT IT SHOULD NEVER OF WORKED FROM THE START??? , IF THIS WERE THE CASE, THERE WILL BE A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY INDICATING THE SENSOR IS OBSTRUCTED OR NOT FUNTIONING, AND THE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM WILL TURN OFF. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME IT HAS HAPPENED . I DECIDED TO GET ANOTHER UNBIASED OPINION FROM A NON NISSAN DEALER REPAIR SHOP. THEY ORDERED A BRACKET FROM NISSAN AND SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS NOT BENT THAT NISSAN HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CRASH SENSOR AND IS LOOKING FOR ANY WAY TO DENY THE REPAIR. THE SHOP OWNER TOLD ME TO CALL NSSAN AND HAVE A REP COMEOUT
I PURCHASED A NEW 2017.5 NISSAN MURANO OCT 14 2017 ONE WEEK LATER THE SRS LIGHT COMES LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND STAYS ON. AFTER THREE TRIPS BACK AND MULTIPLE PARTS REPLACED INCLUDING SENSOR FOR SEATBELT CONNECTOR THAT WAS NOT ATTACHED PROPERLY AND THE REPLACEMENT OF THE SRS SYSTEM. TODAY 97 DAYS LATER I WAS TOLD BY MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INDEED DEFECTIVE AT TIME OF PURCHASE. THE FACTORY HAD NOT CONNECTED THE HARNESS THAT CONNECTS TO THE AIRBAGS WHICH WAS CAUSING MY SRS LIGHT TO COME ON CONTINUOUSLY. I AM VERY SAD AND UPSET THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND I AM IN PROCESS OF FILING A CLAIM WITH THE NISSAN CORPORATION CONSUMER DEPARTMENT FOR A BUY BACK OF MY VEHICLE.
