NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN FRONT AND REAR LOWER LINKS, P/NOS. 54501ZQ00A, 54500ZQ00A, 551A1ZQ00A, 551A0ZQ00A , 54501EA00A, 54500EA00A, 551A1EA500, 551A0EA500, 54501ZR00A, AND 54500ZR00A, SOLD BETWEEN NOVEMBER 25, 2009 AND MAY 14, 2010 AS REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MODEL YEAR 2004 THROUGH 2010 TITAN, ARMADA, AND QX56, AND MODEL YEARS 2005 THROUGH 2010 FRONTIER, XTERRA, AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE LOWER CONTROL LINK ASSEMBLY HAS TWO CYLINDRICAL COLLARS FORMING THE INBOARD ATTACHMENT POINTS TO THE CHASSIS. DUE TO AN IMPROPER WELDING PROCESS SOME COLLARS MAY CONTAIN WELDS THAT DO NOT MEET STRENGTH SPECIFICATIONS.
Remedy Status
NISSAN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE ANY AFFECTED LOWER LINK FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
NISSAN IS RECALLING 242,720 MY 2005-2009 PATHFINDER, FRONTIER AND XTERRA VEHICLES ORIGINALLY SOLD IN OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN THE STATES OF CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, MAINE, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, VERMONT, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. IN THOSE AREAS OF THE COUNTRY WHICH USE HEAVY CONCENTRATIONS OF ROAD SALT IN THE WINTER, A MIXTURE OF SNOW/WATER AND SALT CAN ENTER INTO THE FRONT CRASH ZONE SENSOR (CZS) HOUSING. IF THIS OCCURS, THE CZS MAY INTERNALLY RUST RESULTING IN A SIGNAL INTERRUPTION. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE RED AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE TO ALERT THE VEHICLE OPERATOR.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FRONT CZS WITH A REDESIGNED SENSOR. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 26, 2009. OWNERS IN THE OTHER STATES WILL RECEIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE SENSOR TO 10 YEARS. THESE OWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THE WARRANTY EXTENSION BY MAIL AND WILL RECEIVE A STICKER TO PLACE IN THEIR WARRANTY BOOKLET EXPLAINING THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. Body frame right and left has holes in the frame rusting out. Hole about 4 inches long and the wide entire frame at rear over the tires
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact noticed that there was unknown fluid leaking underneath the vehicle onto the ground. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact checked the radiator and noticed that the coolant was leaking from the radiator. An independent mechanic was contacted and stated that it sounded as if the transmission might have cracked; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was not contacted. Ref. No. 11452064 dated May 12. 2023 After contacting the servicing dealership, a reply was received acknowledging coolant and transmission fluid cross-contamination was discovered. Along with the other complaints already received, I hope this is enough to proof to finally substantiate just remedies to all who purchased a defective product.
There’s was a recall on the control arm… I took it in to Nissan and was told mine was not affected.. so it was not fixed. A year or two has passed and my whole suspension needs to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic test was performed; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I get regular Maintenance on my car and have owned it for numerous years. I was driving on a major highway & with no warning the car shut off and locked up. The power steering was completely gone. If it hadn't been for going down hill I probably would of gotten hit as I tried to get off the road. My seat belt locked in place and I had to climb out of the seat belt to get out of the vehicle. The doors were also locked and had an issue opening them at first in 91degree heat it was a very scary experience.
Defective radiator cross contaminated coolant and transmission fluid lines causing transmission failure and engine damage.
The vehicle jolted without warning And would not move. The transmission cooling lines ruptured in the radiator causing a complete Destruction,pink fluid oozed out of the Radiator. This was due to a Nissan defect that Was NEVER informed us of this problem that could have caused our deaths and the safety of others on the roads.
IT'S TURN ON EMERGENCY LIGHT
IS TURN ON LIGHT EMERGENCY TO AIRBAGS .THE CAR IT IS IN HOME
TRANSMISSION COOLER BUSTED CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX WITH COOLANT
THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP. SLOW MOVING . THEN VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. ENGINE CODE U1000. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THEY REPLACED THE STARTED. I PAID THEM 400.00. I GOT IN THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT START. THE MECHANIC REPLACED A 20A FUSE IN THE FUSE BOX FOR THE ECU. DROVE VEHICLE HOME, THEN WOULD NOT START AGAIN. RESEARCHED ONLINE STUMBLED ONTO ARTICLE ABOUT DEFECTIVE NISSAN TRANSMISSION BEING A TICKING TIME BOMB. CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID, STRAWBERRY MILK SHAKE. RADIATOR FLUID DARK. THANKS NISSAN , I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED, FOUND OUT THE ENGINE WAS BAD, SPENT 8000.00 REPLACING THE ENGINE AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR ARE BAD. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN. WHY WASN'T THERE A RECALL FOR THE RADIATOR ???
I HAVE 2007 PATHFINDER THE AIR BAG LIGHTS STAYS ON WONT GO OFF THE GAS TANK NEVER GOES TO FUEL IT STAY ON EMPTY, AND WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD THE ROAD THE CAR DIES AND THE TIRES SENSERWONT GO OFF TRIED PUT AIR IN THE TIRES STILL WONT GO OFF,I CAN HANDLE THE TIRED SENSOR NOT GOING OFF BUT WHEN THE CAR AIR BAG LIGHTS NOT WORKING AND THE GAS TANK NOT WORK AND THE THING KEEPS TRY TO DIE ON ME DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AM NEEDED HELP, IT TRY TO DIE IN TOWN RUN DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN IT DIES AND THOUGHT I WAS OUT OF GAS BUT WHEN YOU FILL THE GAS TANK WHERE IT WONT TAKE NO MORE GAS YOU NO SOMETHING NOT RIGHT WHEN IT STILL WANTS TO DIE THIS 2007 PATHFINDER AS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR IT DID NOT START DIE UP INTILL ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO,
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, WATER ON TRANSMISSION FLUID
JUST PURCHASED MY 2007 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE ( 4X4) WITH 55,000 MILES ON IT ( OUR FAULT SIGN UNSEEN) FROM OUT OF STATE ( FLORIDA DEALERSHIP) I BELIEVE IT WAS ORIGINALLY A VA CAR. WE HAD IT HAULED UP VIA TRUCK TO WISCONSIN. NOW MIND YOU WE HAVE PAID FOR THIS CAR ALREADY SO WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE IT. I MOVED IT OUT OF THE WAY UNTIL I COULD GET IT LICENSED, MY HUSBAND THEN STARTED IT WHEN HE GOT HOME AND HE WENT AROUND THE BLOCK AND THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED FULL HOWEVER WHEN I PULLED IT OUT OF THE WAYAFTER DRIVING AROUND A COUPLE OF BLOCKS IT WENT TO E AND THE LIGHT CAME ON. MY HUSBAND WENT TO FILL IT UP THINKING THAT MAY HELP, BUT IT WOULD NOT ALLOW HIM TO FILL IT, IT WOULD PUT SOME IN, THEN STOP, HE DID THAT 5 TIMES AND GAVE UP. WE CHECKED ONLINE FOR ANY RECALLS AND FOUND THERE WERE SEVERAL ONE OF THEM BEING A FUEL SENSOR ISSUE. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WE GOT IT FROM AND THEY SAID ANY RECALLS HAVE SINCE BEEN EXPIRED. BEING WE ARE THE 2ND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE WE DON'T KNOW IF THE FIRST OWNER DID ANYTHING IF THERE WERE RECALLS. HOW CAN WE FIND THIS OUT? IF THERE IS A WAY TO SHOW THIS, AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT, IS THERE A WAY TO GET THESE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY? ALSO, IS THERE A WAY TO SEE IF THE CODE WE ARE GETTING HAS BEEN IN THE CARS MEMORY FOR SOME TIME ? MOST IMPORTANTLY IS IF THE RECALLS WERE NEVER TAKE CARE OF, IS THERE AN EXCEPTION THAT CAN BE MADE TO FIX THE RECALLS THAT WERE PUT OUT THERE FOR THIS MODEL? ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREAT! THE DATE BELOW ON WHEN THIS HAPPENED IS BASED ON WHEN WE FIRST GOT IT HOW LONG ITS BEEN GOING ON WE DON'T KNOW. AGAIN IF THERE IS A WAY TO SEE ITS HISTORY THROUGH THE COMPUTER WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT FINDING THAT OUT.
THE VEHICLE DAMAGE THE PUMP FUEL DURING A PERIOD OF 9 MONTHS IT WAS CHANGED 4 TIMES.
COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUIDS ARE MIXING, LOSS OF TRANSMISSION POWER
I WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I DROVE HOME AND THE NEXT WEEK I WENT TO REPLACE MY BRAKES AND ASK THE WORKSHOP TO DO A SCAN TO LET ME KNOW WHY THE LIGHT IS ON, THEY DID AND 2 CODES CAME UP WHICH THE SHOP SAID THEY DID NOT SEE BEFORE SO THEY CLEARED THE SYSTEM AND SAID IF IT COMES ON AGAIN TO TAKE IT BACK SO THEY CAN FULLY INVESTIGATE. I WENT ON 9/28 TO ANOTHER WORKSHOP THEY DID A SCAN AND THE CODE P1772 CAME ON AFTER INSPECTING THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE RADIATOR CAP WITH SOME THICK GOOEY STUFF TELLING ME THE RADIATOR IS BAD AND THE COOLANT IS MIXING WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID AND VICE VERSA. BEFORE THIS THE CAR WOULD RUN AND WHEN I AT A STOP SIGN AND TRY TO MOVE IT WOULD REV TO 4-5 STALLS AND THEN MOVE, THEY ARE ALSO TIMES OF SUDDEN JERK AND ACCELERATION. THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN TWICE WHEN I TRIED TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE, I HAD TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE THEN RESTART BEFORE I COULD REVERSE.. DEFECTIVE RADIATOR CRACKS LEADING TO COOLANT MIXING WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID, NOW NEED TO REPLACE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION
WHILE DRIVING TODAY THE RPMS WENT CRAZY AND I ALMOST WRECKED . THE CAR WOULD SPUDDER AND THEN REV UP. ALSO, AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN TRYING TO GO THE CAR SEEMS TO BARELY MOVE AND ACTS LIKE IT'S GOING TO DIE. NOW WE HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE RADIATOR,HOSES, AND ALL FLUIDS IN TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR.
2007 PATHFINDER WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A CITY STREET AND STALLED WHILE IN MOTION. WAS ABLE TO STEER AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. STEERING WAS HARD TO MANEUVER. AFTER REPEATED TIMES OF CRANKING IT WOULD NOT START.. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO OWNERS RESIDENCE. WHEN BEING DROPPED OFF OWNER STARTED VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT INTO DRIVEWAY. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OF ANY SORT WAS LIT. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AROUND THE BLOCK AND STALLED AGAIN. WAITED FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES TO COOL OFF AND ENGINE TURNED ON AGAIN BUT STALLED . AFTER A COUPLE OF REPEATED TRYS WAS ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVEWAY. AGAIN NO CODES LIT.
