"TAKATA RECALL" THE CAR STARED TO VIBRATING WHILE I WAS DRIVING I CAN FEEL THAT THE GEAR WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY I STOPPED THE CAR CALL A TOW TRUCK TOOK THE CAR HOME CALL THE MECHANIC AND HE EXPLAIN TO ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE COOLANT WENT INTO THE TRANSMISSION ALSO TALE ME THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS CAR. TO FIX IT IS EXTRIMELY EXPENSIVE IT IS MORE THAT THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. I JUST FUND OUT THAT ALMOST EVERYBODY THAT HAS A NISSAN PATHFINDER O XTERRA HAD HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. DEFINITELY IS A FACTORY PROBLEM AND WE SHOULD NOT PAY FOR IT THE COMPANY SHOULD FIX IT.
RADIATOR LEAKING CAUSING TRANNY TO FAIL, AFTER TRANNY IS REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE STARTS FAILING IN JUST LESS THAN 2 YEARS CAUSING THE CAR TO HAVE TRANNY ISSUES AGAIN NISSAN SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL THIS DEFECTS ON THIS CAR, IT POSSES A SAFE ISSUE BECAUSE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE MAKES THE CAR RUN IF THIS FAILS WHILE CAR RUNNING A HUGE ACCIDENT COULD HAPPEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY AND INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE HEATING SYSTEM BECAME INOPERABLE AND CAUSED AN ABNORMAL ODOR TO EMIT INSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH IRRITATED THE CONTACT'S EYES. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED INTO THE RADIATOR. AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, HEAD, AND NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
MY RADITOR LEAKED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION AND A WEEK LATER I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH CONTINUES TO FLASH AND THE CAR HORN DOESN'T ALWAYS BLOW>
TAKATA RECALL ?? THE 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND BREAKDOWN DUE TO COOLANT LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION. PURCHASED PRE-OWNED WITH NOTHING LISTED ON CAR FACTS (CARFAX), OR WITH ANY ADVISEMENT TO THE ISSUES WITH RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION. AFTER A $1,017 BILL FROM AAMCO FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TO FIND THE ISSUE, (IN WHICH THEY HAD TO PULL THE TRANNY AND INSPECT IT WAS DAMAGED DUE TO FLUID FROM RADIATOR GETTING INSIDE COMPROMISING TRANSMISSION SEALS) I DISCOVERED, ONLINE, THIS ONGOING WELL KNOW PROBLEM..CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND DISCOVERED MY VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER THE 100K MILEAGE (94955 ACTUAL) AND GOOD THROUGH 8-2017, FROM A PREVIOUS FILED COMPLAINT OR CLASS ACTION, NOT SURE WHICH. HOWEVER, APPARENTLY I ONLY QUALIFY FOR A CO/PAY OF $3,000 ON A VEHICLE VALUED AT TOPS, $7,500. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, HAD I KNOWN THIS WAS AN ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH MY BANK, THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM, AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO ASSIST. I SUPPOSE I WILL CONTACT MY ATTORNEY AT THIS POINT (LEMON LAW, TORT LAWS, SOMETHING) BECAUSE I CANT' SEEM TO FIND ANYONE UNDERSTANDING TO ME, THE CONSUMER, WHOM IS NOT AT FAULT ON THIS DEAL FOR HELP. I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY THAT NISSAN HAS ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN. THEY SHOULD AT LEAST PUT A CARFAX WARNING OR SOMETHING TO NOTIFY POTENTIAL BUYERS OR OWNERS OF THIS PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THAT PARTS GET WORN AND GO BAD, HOWEVER, THIS IN NOT SOMETHING THAT I HAVE NEGLECTED TO FIX, MAINTAIN, CHECK, OR ANYTHING. THIS IS A BAD PART/DESIGN FLAW IN THE COOLANT SYSTEM AND SHOULD IN ALL RIGHTS BE FIXED AT 100% BY NISSAN. BEWARE.
OUR 2008 PATHFINDER LOST ALL POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, CAUSING OTHERS CARS TO SWERVE TO MISS HITTING US. AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS WE WERE ABLE TO REGAIN A LITTLE BIT OF SPEED ( ABOUT 30 MPH) TO BE ABLE TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY AND HEAD DOWN AN EXIT RAMP. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS VERY SCARY FOR MY FAMILY AND I WITH TWO YOUNG KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT, WITH CARS PASSING US AT SPEEDS UPWARD OF 70 MPH. EVEN ON THE WAY HOME THAT NIGHT, THE SUV WOULD START TO DRIVE AT NORMAL SPEED, THEN SUDDENLY COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP AT ABOUT 5 MPH.
THE VEHICLE FUEL SENSOR SHOWS THAT IT'S EMPTY AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE HAS A QUARTER TANK OF GAS LEFT. MILEAGE DOES NOT SHOW EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE HAS GAS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THEY VEHICLE IS TURNED ON AND IN MOTION. I DO SEE THAT NISSAN HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000) BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH MY VEHICLE VIN #
COOLANT FLUID LEAKED FROM RADIATOR CAP INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS 122,000 MILES AND HAS NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES BEFORE THIS. THE FLUID IN RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION IS GUNK.
ON SEPT 1, 2016, I WAS DRIVING MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON MY DAILY COMMUTE TO WORK 32 HIGHWAY MILES NOTICED THE RED BRAKE LIGHT COME ON IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS SURPRISED AS MY FRONT & REAR BRAKES WERE DONE IN MAY 2016. ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY IN THE FAST LANE I DECIDED TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND TAP THE BRAKES TO SEE IF IT WOULD MAKE THE LIGHT GO AWAY. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, I HAD NO BRAKES! WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER BESIDE ME, A CAR IN FRONT OF ME AS WELL AS BEHIND ME, AFTER ALL IT WAS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I PANICKED! I THOUGHT THIS WAS IT! NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS , PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND PRAYED, AS THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN, I WAS TRIED TO MOVE INTO THE RIGHT LANE WITHOUT ACCELERATING. I WAS FORCED THEN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN TO BE ABLE TO SWITCH LANE AND IT WAS AFTER DOING SO, I WAS ABLE TO GET TO WHAT WAS A HALF OF SHOULDER AND RIDE DOWN IT UNTIL I WAS GOING SLOW ENOUGH I THROUGH IT IN PARK. THINKING BACK I SHOULD HAVE USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. STRANDED ON HALF OF A SHOULDER FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE THE POLICE SHOWED UP WAS TERRIFYING. I THOUGHT FOR SURE ONE OF THE TRACTOR TRAILERS WAS GOING TO HIT ME. I WAS SO CLOSE TO THE GUARDRAIL I COULD NOT EXIT MY CAR. A TOW TRUCK TOOK MY DISABLED VEHICLE TO MY GARAGE, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT MY BRAKES WORKED PERFECTLY FINE. NO LIGHT WAS ABLE TO STOP ON A DIME. I WAS NOT IMAGINING THEY FAILED, THEY DID NOT WORK! MY MECHANIC, THE OWNER OF WARREN BRAKE AND TIRE FOR 40 YEARS, WHAT HE WAS ABOUT TO FIND OUT HE HAS NEVER HEARD. THE COMPUTER GAVE A CODE OF C1179 DELTA STROKE SENSOR SIGNAL FAILURE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT WILL CAUSE INTERMITTENT BRAKE FAILURE. I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND I WANT ACTION DONE NOT ONLY TO FIX MY VEHICLE BUT TO LOOK AT ALL NISSANS TO PREVENT SUCH AN OCCURRENCE FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NEVER BEING NOTIFIED ABOUT FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY RECALL NOTICE (10V-075) UNTIL VEHICLE RAN OUT OF FUEL. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE RAN OUT OF FUEL, WHILE DRIVING ON AN EIGHT LANE FREEWAY, DUE TO THE FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT NISSAN, INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE RECALL ENDED IN 2013. *JB
IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEAVY STORM FROM THE WAKE OF AN F3 TORNADO THAT SWEPTED THROUGH, MY WIFE AND I WERE STUCK IN HEAVY WIND AND RAIN IN AN OPEN AREA UNABLE TO START OUR 2008 PATHFINDER AFTER PULLING OVER. JUST PRIOR, OUR TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING HARD AND SLAMMING INTO GEAR. I GOT OUT IN THE WIND AND RAIN AND AFTER LOOKING OVER THE VEHICLE AFTER IT COOLED DOWN, THATS WHEN I NOTICED OIL AND WATER WERE MIXED IN THE RADIATOR.THE PATHFINDER NOW SITS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. IT WENT FROM PARKED AND RUNNING TO DEAD ON THIE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
MY TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR SEEPED INTO EACH OTHER AND APPARENTLY CAUSED INTERNAL IRREPARABLE FAILURE. MY BUYER'S SHIELD WARRANTY IS REFUSING TO COVER IT. I PURCHASED THE 5 YEAR/100000 MILE POWER AND TRAIN WARRANTY AS WELL. NISSAN'S FACTORY WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER IT NEITHER WILL MY EXTENDED.
IN ABOUT JANUARY OF THIS YEAR 2016 I NOTICED A VIBRATION DURING GEARSHIFTING WHILE DRIVING. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC BECAUSE WHEN I EXPLAINED THE ISSUE TO NISSAN THEY SAID OUT OF WARRANTY AND ALL PARTS AND LABOR WOULD NOT BE COVERED SO I WENT TO MY MECHANIC ANYWAY WHO SAID I HAD TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO A LEAK FROM THE RADIATOR WHICH I BELIEVE IS A DESIGN FLAW ON THE CAR. IF NISSAN KNEW ABOUT A RADIATOR ISSUE WHY WAS I NEVER INFORMED SO I COULD POTENTIALLY REPLACE THE RADIATOR BEFORE IT DESTROYED MY TRANSMISSION? I AM SEEKING FULL REIMBURSEMENT ON ALL PARTS AND LABOR IN THE TRANSMISSION. I UNDERSTAND I MAY HAVE TO PAY SOME OF THE COST OF THE RADIATOR DUE TO WARE AND TARE BUT IF NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS THEY SHOULD'VE CONTACTED ME TO SAVE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I BELIEVE THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE HAD I NOT KNOWN EVEN WHY THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING I DID HAVE A PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING AND NOT KNOWING WHAT THIS IS. FAILED TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER LOCATED IN THE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY THAT ALLOWED COOLANT TO MIX WITH AND CONTAMINATE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID, RESULTING IN DAMAGED INTERNAL TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS AND A DAMAGED INTERNAL TRANSMISSION COMPUTER. THE 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP SINCE IT WOULD NOT START. THE PATHFINDER HAD 113K MILES. IT COST ME $2841.27 TO REPAIR.
WOW, I AM AMAZED THAT MY STORY IS SO SIMILAR TO THE ONES I'M READING HERE. I ALSO PURCHASED A 2008 PATHFINDER BRAND NEW. AND I EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR LEAKING INTO MY TRANSMISSION. AND NISSAN HAS TURNED THEIR BACK ON ME AS WELL. AFTER DOING SOME DIGGING, I FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE IN 2007. AND YET WHEN I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE THAT HAD 13 MILES ON IT FROM THE DEALERSHIP, NEVER WAS THIS ISSUE BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION. I BELIEVE THEY ISSUED EXTENDED WARRANTIES IN 2010 AND 2012. BUT NEVER CONTACTED US. IF I HAD KNOWN IT WAS A POSSIBILITY OF AN ISSUE, I WOULD HAVE HAD THE CORRECT REPAIR DONE IN ADVANCE TO PREVENT THIS. BUT NOW I FIND MYSELF WITH A DESTROYED TRANSMISSION AND NOWHERE TO GO. I CAN NOT CURRENTLY PAY OUT FOR THIS REPAIR. I ALSO AM LEADING WITH NISSAN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME " NISSAN IS NOT IN A POSITION TO HELP ME RIGHT NOW". THE FUNNY THING IS THAT MY FAMILY HAS BOUGHT 5 NISSAN VEHICLES IN THE LAST 17 YEARS. SOME LOYALTY TO A MEMBER OF THEIR FAMILY. I URGE YOU PEOPLE TO DO WHAT I DID. ISSUE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND MOST IMPORTANT THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. EVENTUALLY WE WILL HAVE TO BE HEARD. I HAVE ALSO MADE IT MY MISSION TO PRINT OUT ALL THE DOCUMENTS I HAVE READ REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND HAND IT TO EVERY PERSON I I SEE DRIVING A NISSAN. 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. TRANSMISSION FAILED DUE TO RADIATOR FAILURE WHICH CAUSED CONTAMINATION OF THE COOLING AND TRANSMISSION FLUIDS. ENGINE OVERHEATED DUE TO CONTAMINATION. ENTIRE COOLING SYSTEM HAD TO BE FLUSHED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER REPAIRS. REPAIRS WERE OVER $4000. NISSAN REFUSED TO ADDRESS ISSUE BECAUSE OF PENDING CLASS ACTION SUIT. I WISH TO BE ADDED TO CLASS ACTION PROCESS TO RECOUP EXPENSES.
THE SUV BEGAN SHUDDERING WHEN SHIFTING INTO GEAR, AND HARD SHIFTING IN LOW GEARS. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID COOLANT HAD CONTAMINATED THE TRANSMISSION CASE BY LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR. REPAIR NEEDED: REPLACE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. SUV HAS 131,000 MILES, AND WAS OTHER WISE IN GOOD CONDITION. REPAIR CENTER SAID TO REPLACE BOTH, COST WOULD BE $5800.00
AS A SINGLE FATHER OF THREE TEENAGERS, I NEEDED TWO VEHICLES WITH ENOUGH ROOM AND SAFETY FEATURES TO HANDLE HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE NEEDS. I BOUGHT TWO PATHFINDERS, A 2007 SE AND 2008 LE, ONE FOR MYSELF AND ONE FOR MY SON (WHICH WOULD BE PASSED ON, ETC). MY DECISION WAS BASED ON MY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH NISSAN PRODUCTS AND MY LOYALTY TO THE BRAND. HOWEVER, I NOW HAVE BOTH PATHFINDERS NEEDING MAJOR REPAIRS TO THEIR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE 2008 PATHFINDER'S TRANSMISSION FAILED IN VERY HEAVY HOUSTON TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING WITH MY YOUNGER SON, WHICH CAUSED OTHER VEHICLES TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND ALMOST CREATED A LARGE PILE-UP ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. WHILE WE AVOIDED BEING KILLED BY ONCOMING VEHICLES, WE WERE ALSO IN DANGER AS WE MOVED THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER TOWING THE VEHICLE TO A REPUTABLE TRANSMISSION SHOP, HE FOUND THE ISSUE TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE COOLANT FLUID LEAKING INTO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, CAUSING TOTAL FAILURE. ESTIMATES ARE OVER $6,000 FOR REBUILDING OR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION WITH PARTS AND LABOR, INCLUDING THE REQUIRED ADDITION OF A "COOLER" INSTEAD OF THE RADIATOR. I ATTEMPTED TO FILE THIS WITH MY CAR INSURANCE BUT WAS DENIED COVERAGE. NOW, THE 2007 PATHFINDER IS HAVING THE SAME SYMPTOMS WITH SLIPPAGE AND INABILITY TO USE OVERDRIVE, WHICH ALMOST CAUSE ANOTHER MULTI-CAR PILE-UP IN HOUSTON TRAFFIC UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO DOWNSHIFT AND MOVE ASIDE. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE 2007 PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION ALSO FAILS COMPLETELY, AND I STILL OWE $12,000 TO THE CREDIT UNION ON BOTH LOANS COMBINED. I ATTEMPTED A LOAN FOR REPAIRS THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION SHOP, BUT WAS DENIED DUE TO BAD CREDIT FROM A LAY-OFF LAST YEAR. NISSAN, PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL FOR THOSE OF US WITHOUT HOPE AND UNABLE TO BUY A NEW VEHICLE. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SAVE LIVES AND BOOST YOUR BRAND TO A HIGHER LEVEL, THROUGH INTEGRITY.
A) THE SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON FOR THE EVAP SYSTEM. TOOK TO NISSAN AND THEY INITIALLY SAID IT WASN'T ANYTHING THEN IT TURNED INTO A CPU BEING BAD (AFTER 3 TRIPS) NOW THE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN AND IT'S AN EVAP CODE AGAIN FOR THE CHARCOAL VENT SYSTEM. I'VE LOOKED IT UP AND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WAS EVEN RECALLED ON THE XTERRA. THE ISSUE BEING THE LOCATION OF THE CHARCOAL FILTER. B) THE STEERING BOX VIBRATES OR CAUSES A SEVERE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION
WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER THERE WAS A HARD SHIFT WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, THEN NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS LIT AND STEADY, I THEN SWITCHED GEARS INTO DRIVE WHICH HAD A VIOLENT JERKING MOTION & SLIGHT HESITATION TO ACCELERATE. AS I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE ON THE COUNTY ROAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING CONSTANTLY & THE VEHICLE HAD LITTLE POWER TO ACCELERATE & CONSTANTLY HESITATING CAUSING ME TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM WAS CREATED DUE TO THE ENTERMIX COOLANT IN TRANSMISSION AS STATED BY THE TECHICIAN IN THE REPORT I PROVIDED. THIS WAS A SAFETY RISK BECAUSE AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT I WAS DRIVING ACROSS THE ROAD.
I WAS DRIVING AROUND 35 TO 40MPH WHEN I FELT A VIBRATION UNDER VEHICLE BACKED OFF GAS PEDAL WENT AWAY AFTER THAT IT WOULD COME BACK NOW AND THEN AROUND THE SAME SPEED JUST LIKE YOU WHERE DRIVING ON A RUMBLE STRIP. THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED FOR MY TRUCK IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM NISSAN UNTIL JULY 3, 2016. NISSAN DEALER CAN GET AFTERMARKET TRANSMISSION WITH 3-YEAR WARRANTY AND INSTALL FOR $5,600. MILEAGE AT 130,000. NISSAN HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UNTIL 100,000 MILES. THIS ISN'T RIGHT. ISSUE IS KNOWN BY NISSAN AND THEY HAVE NOT YET INSTITUTED A FULL RECALL.

I RECENTLY FOUND OUT FROM A LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE SPECIALIST THAT MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS AND AS A RESULT OF OCTOBER 2012 CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLED BY COURT AND NISSAN CORP. SENSING DANGER, SHE TOOK AN EXIT AND CAME OFF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND THE ENGINE STOPPED ON HER COMPLETELY - AS SHE EXITED FROM HIGHWAY. BEFORE STOPPING, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND WHEN MY WIFE GAVE GAS, IT WASN'T GETTING REQUIRED SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY FOR HER CAR STOPPED ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS SHE ENTERED A SMALL LANE AFTER EXITING THE INTERSTATE. WE GOT IT TOWED TO AAA SERVICE CENTER. THE NISSAN DEALER IS NOW SAYING THAT COOLANT GOT MIXED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THUS SPOILED THE COMPUTER THAT CONNECTS TO ENGINE. AND IT REQUIRES A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF TRANSMISSION, RADIATOR ETC AND COSTING ME $5,600. AS THIS CAR IS REGULARLY SERVICED BY NISSAN DEALER, AND THIS DAMAGE IS NOT CAUSED BY DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGN FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE WAS AVAILABLE, BUT THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE ACCEPTABLE MILEAGE. NEXT PROBLEM P1774 SAID LOW COAST BRAKE-FASTENS SOLENOID VALVE FUNCTION. ALL THIS TIME ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CHARGED ME $50. TO RESET LIGHT. THEN NEXT PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION NOW IS 4 GEAR COME WITH ISSUES AND IS IN THE MECHANIC NOW,JUNE 6, 2017 I NEED TO REPLACE IT AND CHARGING ME $3,200. BUT THEY STILL WORKING OWN CAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW YET IF DOESN'T WORK I WILL NEED TO PAY MORE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS CAUSE THIS CAR ONLY HAVE 8 YEARS AND I KEEP MAINTAINING MY CAR SINCE I GOT IT, SO DISAPPOINTED AND I SHOULDN'T DIDN'T PAY FOR ALL THIS CAUSE IS A RECALL AND MY CAR IS 2008 AND ALL THE PROBLEMS MY CAR HAD IS IN THE RECALL JUST CAUSE MY VIN NUMBER ISN'T THAT ISN'T FEAR. HOPE ANYBODY UNDERSTAND MY FRUSTRATIONS AND FIND THE SOLUTION OF THIS PROBLEMS. PAY ME BACK WHAT I BEING PUTTING IN TO THIS CAR.
DEFECTIVE RADIATOR CRACKED AND THE FLUID WENT INTO MY TRANSMISSION RUINING BOTH. KNOWN DEFECT ADMITTED BY NISSAN, BUT LIMITED WARRANTY BEING AWARDED PER CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THIS IS PREVALENT AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY 3,000 DUE TO THEIR PRODUCTION OF A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT IT WOULD STUTTER WHEN SHIFTING GEARS, AND SOMETIME NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY, VERY DANGEROUS AS MOM DRIVING WITH 4 SMALL CHILDREN!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND AFTER BEING DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 10-20 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE READ 1/4 OF A TANK OR EMPTY AFTER BEING COMPLETELY FUELED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FUELED OVER A HALF OF A TANK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LAST TIME THIS OCCURRED, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NOT GO ANY LOWER THAN A QUARTER TANK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL GAUGE TOOK AN ABNORMALLY LONG TIME TO SHOW THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000....UPDATED 03-10-16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD ALWAYS DISPLAY AT LEAST 1/4 TANK OF GAS, EVEN WHEN IT WAS EMPTY. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DUE TO THE PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. UPDATED 06/09/16.*JB
TAKATA RECALL, I'VE BEEN TOLD SEVERAL TIMES THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I WAS RECENTLY IN ACCIDENT WITH MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE. I REAR ENDED AN SUV IN THE BROOKLYN BATTERY TUNNEL. MY SPEED WAS APPROX 15-25MPH. MY BUMPER COVER, GRILL, RADIATOR, TRANSMISSION COOLER, FAN, FAN SHROUD, HEADLIGHT,S HOOD, ETC HAVE TO BE REPLACED, I'VE ATTACHED A PICTURE. IT SHOULD BE PRETTY CLEAR THAT THE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF.
