THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

OUR PATHFINDER SEEMINGLY LOST POWER AND CONTROL, ALMOST RESULTING IN NEAR COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE APPROACHING AND ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND ALMOST REAR ENDED WHILE TURNING INTO SHOPPING PLAZA. COASTED TO SIDE WHILE SMOKE AND YELLOWISH/ GREEN LIQUID POURED OUT FROM THE HOOD. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. MECHANICS ANALYSIS WAS RELATED TO CONTAMINATION FROM COOLANT / RADIATOR / TRANSMISSION. COMPLETE FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR AND CROSS CONTAMINATION OF ALL RELATED PARTS. POSSIBLY $6000 TO $8000 REPAIR COSTS. TOTAL LOSS TO US, AND WE STILL OWE FOR FINANCING, TRUCK IS PROBABLY NOT EVEN VALUED AT THAT.
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR IS FAILING, CAUSING ERRATIC OR INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE READINGS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATES. NISSAN HAS RECALLED 2006 - 2008 VEHICLES FOR THIS FUEL GAUGE ISSUE. RECALL ANNOUNCED: MARCH 03 2010 NHTSA REFERENCE: #10V075000 NUMBER AFFECTED: 80,689 SUMMARY: NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 AND MODEL YEAR 2008 FRONTIER, XTERRA AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE MOLDED FUEL TANK SHELLS CAN DEFORM, CAUSING THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM TO CONTACT AN EMBOSSMENT MOLDED INTO THE TANK SHELL CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. CAR BEGAN EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY SHIFTING. REPAIR SHOP REPORTS TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT INTERMIXING, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF BOTH THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION.
TRANSMISSION COOLING SYSTEM RUNS THROUGH THE RADIATOR. FAULTY DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION LEAD TO FAILURE, RESULTING IN COOLING FLUIDS IN THE TRANSMISSION, AND TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE RADIATOR. OCCURRED AT 110K MILES BUT NISSAN WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE & REPAIRS ARE $5770. BEGAN WITH VEHICLE NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND THEN NOT GETTING OUT OF FIRST GEAR. TURNED AROUND & DROVE THE 1/2 MILE BACK HOME TO DISCOVER VISCUS EMULSION IN RADIATOR RESERVOIR. INVESTIGATED & DISCOVERED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON NISSAN PATHFINDERS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT BECAUSE THE CONTACT HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER ALL OF 2015, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE A REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
WHEN I PULLED OUT IN TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC MY CAR REVVED BUT DID NOT GO ANYWHERE. MY 5 YEAR OLD WAS IN HIS BABY SEAT WITH CAR AND TRUCKS HONKING AND SWERVING AROUND MY TRUCK TO AVOID US.

AT JUST OVER 100K MILES (101406) MY RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND RUINED THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR AT ALL BECAUSE I AM 1406 OUT OF THE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. SPEAKING WITH THE LOCAL DEALER THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE FROM THE SERVICE SIDE TO PREVENT IT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE FAST LANE AT 85 MPH THE CAR LOST POWER COMPLETELY. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN MY VICINITY. COASTED OVER 2 LANES TO BREAKDOWN LANE JUST BARELY OVER THE LINE. GAS GAGE READ 1/4 TANK SO FIGURED I STILL HAD GAS. TRIED TO RESTART SEVERAL TIMES BUT CAR ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS. CALLED AAA FOR A TOW TRUCK AND ASKED TO BRING GAS JUST IN CASE. CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AFTER MECHANIC PUT GAS IN TANK. ALTHOUGH THIS ISSUE IS A RECALL1 NISSAN WILL NOT REPAIR FOR FREE. SAY MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND IT WILL COST ME $450. RECALL SUMMARY:NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 AND MODEL YEAR 2008 FRONTIER, XTERRA AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. CROSS CONTAMINATION OF THE RADIATOR FLUID AND TRANSMISSION FLUID DUE TO FAULTY MFG(NISSAN) DESIGN CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. $3000 OUT OF POCKET DUE TO A MFG FAULT!
I NOTICED A SHUDDER WHEN THE CAR SHIFTED FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR BUT SEEM TO DRIVE NORMAL OTHERWISE. I CONTACTED NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND SCHEDULED THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT, WHICH TOOK EXACTLY 1 WEEK FROM DATE FIRST SYMPTOM. ON THE MORNING OF MY APPOINTMENT, MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS AT ALL ONCE I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR BOTH MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. I WAS ABLE TO COAST MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS LATER INFORMED FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT A FAULTY RADIATOR LEAKED FLUID AND CONTAMINATED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, RESULTING IN A FAILED TRANSMISSION. REPAIR COSTS WOULD BE $5230, BUT THE MANAGER WOULD AGREE TO DO IT FOR $4165. I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY WERE AWARE OF FAULTY RADIATOR IN THE 2005-06 MODELS BUT WERE UNAWARE OTHER MODELS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I HAD ALREADY RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, TO FIND THAT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAD BEEN FILED REGARDING 2005-2010 PATHFINDER, XTERRAS, AND FRONTIER AND NISSAN HAD SETTLED A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT BY OFFERING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY. SINCE I WAS BARELY OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO INQUIRE ABOUT ASSISTANCE WITH GOODWILL REPAIR SINCE THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS THE RESULT OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I WAS INFORMED BY THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST SHE WOULD NEED A WEEK TO REVIEW THE CASE. ONE WEEK TO THE DATE, SHE RETURNED MY CALL INQUIRING IF I WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY THE COPAY LISTED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I INFORMED HER YES. SHE THEN INQUIRED IF I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN A POSSIBLE VPP DISCOUNT ON A 2015 NISSAN AUTOMOBILE. I INFORMED HER I WAS INTERESTED IN ALL OPTIONS IN ORDER TO MAKE THE BEST CHOICE FOR MY SITUATION. SHE ASKED FOR TWO MORE DAYS TO REVIEW CASE AND RETURNED MY CALL TWO DAYS LATER TO TELL ME NISSAN WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY TYPE OF ASSISTANCE TO ME IN MY REPAIRS.
This is.my 2nd time replacing it the oil is mixing with the anti freeze because the radiator has a hole in it another recall problem for nissan

ALL STEERING WHEEL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. HORN DOES NOT WORK AND AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING. I REPLACED BUSTED RADIATOR AT 115,000 MILES. VEHICLE WOULD TURN OFF AT ANY SPEED. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE PEOPLE GET KILLED DUE TO THIS DEFECT. I HAD TO REPLACE SEVERAL SENSORS. MY VEHICLE HAS CURRENTLY BEEN PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR OVER 3 WEEKS. I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. IT IS A SHAME THAT THIS COMPANY IS BEING ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH ALL THIS. IT IS NOT A MATTER OF IF SOMEONE GETS KILLED, IF IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET, BUT WHEN. THIS IS THE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED AND WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

TROUBLE CODE P0463, SES LIGHT CAME ON. ITS THE SAME TROUBLE CODE THAT CERTAIN NISSAN MODELS FUEL GAGES READ 1/4 OF A TANK WHEN EMPTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH MINE OR RECALLS IT IS A 08 LE V8 PATHFINDER.
I TURNED ON MY TRUCK IN THE MORNING IT MADE A WEIRD NOISE IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS RATTLING IN THE TRUCK I CHECKED THE TRUCK WATER OIL EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL EXCEPT THE NOISE ... I WENT WHO WORK AFTER WORK I A SON AS I TURNED ON TRUCK NOISE WAS LOUDER AND I COULDN'T DRIVE IT MORE THEN 20MILES IT STARTED SHAKING AND SWERVING I RITE AWAY TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC ...AND HE SAID THAT THE TIMING BELT AND TRANSMISSION WERE THE CAUSE OF THAT RATTLE NOISE AND THAT'S WHY I COULDN'T RUN IT MORE THAN 10-20MILES ... NOW TO FIX IT'S 4,500 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION... I HAD JUST GOT THE VIECHLE 3 MONTHS AGO FROM THE DEALERSHIP NOW THEY WON'T HELP ME FIX . NOW AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT DOESN'T WORK AND STILL MAKING PAYMENTS... I'VE SEEN ONLINE THAT NISSAN SUV'S HAVE THIS KIND OF PROBLEM THAT'S LIKE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT .
AFTER DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MILES, MY CAR STOPPED RUNNING AND A LITTLE SMOKE CAME FROM THE HOOD. WHEN I PARKED THE CAR IT WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START. WHENEVER I TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION IT CRANKS BUT WONT CATCH AS IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD OR LOW ON FUEL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BATTERY FOR A WHILE BUT IF I HIT THE STARTER IT WOULD CRANK. I DONT BELIEVE IT IS ANYTHING MAJOR BECAUSE IT DIDNT SHOW ANY SIGNS.
VEHICLE BEGAN LURCHING AND SHUDDERING DRIVING A LOW SPEEDS ~40 MPH IN TOWN, UNTIL GEAR SHIFT OCCURRED THEN SPORADICALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. AT FIRST THE SHUDDERING/JERKING WAS PERIODIC AND STARTED TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN AT RANDOM AT THAT SPEED. THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS ABOUT 108,000 MILES IN FALL OF 2014. THIS OCCURRED OVER A PERIOD OF 6-8 MONTHS AND THEN PROGRESSED TO ISSUES WITH CABIN HEATER BLOWING COOLER AIR WHEN THERMOSTAT SET TO 90 DEGREES. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS ISSUE WITH HEATER AND UPON TEST DRIVE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO THE RADIATOR FLUID LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE FLUIDS TO MIX. REPLACED BOTH RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION TO THE TUNE OF $5000.
FELT JERKING WHILE DRIVING AT 40-45 MPH TO THE POINT WHERE IT FELT LIKE I WAS LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. IT FELT LIKE IT WOULD GO TO NEUTRAL AND SUDDENLY BACK INTO GEAR REALLY HARD SO IT WOULD CAUSE SOMETHING LIKE A TORQUE PULL. SO, TOOK TO DEALER SERVICE SHOP AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS DEFECTIVE RADIATOR CRACKED AND LEAKED COOLANT FLUID INTO THE RADIATOR COOLER CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. FORTUNATELY, DIDN'T LOSE CONTROL WHILE DRIVING BUT IT FELT CLOSE TO SOMETIMES. I BELIEVE A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER COULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE.

A TRANSMISSION SHOP HAS TESTED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FOUND GLYCOL CONTAMINATION FROM THE TRANSMISSION COOLER THAT HAS SHORTED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE REQUIRES A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REBUILD, NEW TCM AND A RADIATOR BYPASS TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. TOTAL COST WILL BE APPROXIMATELY $4000. *TR

ISSUE ORIGINALLY OCCURRED IN DECEMBER, 2013. ISSUE WAS FIXED AT BUTLER NISSAN. ISSUE REPAIRED WITH SUBSTANDARD AND USED PARTS, WHICH RESULTED IN SAME ISSUE OCCURRING - RADIATOR CRACKING, WHICH CAUSED CATASTROPHIC FAILURE TO THE TRANSMISSION. WHERE DO I BEGIN WITH WITH PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE? I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2010 WITH 48,000 MILES ON IT. LOOKED BRAND NEW, NOW, I THINK I KNOW WHAT THEY TRADED IT IN. I HAVE HAD ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER. I HAVE SPENT OVER $7000 IN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF, OUTSIDE OF NORMAL UPKEEP LIKE TIRES AND BRAKES, ON REPAIRS FOR THIS VEHICLE. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN! MY HUSBAND WAS KILLED IN 2014. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT'S BEEN FOR ME TO GET ALL THIS DONE?!?! BUT I HAD TO, IT'S PAID OFF AND I DON'T WANT A NEW CAR NOTE! REPLACING A TRANSMISSION THAT THE COMPANY I FEEL KNOWS IS FAULTY IS REALLY UNJUST. I INITIALLY PAID $1800 TO GET IT FIXED FOR IT ONLY TO CONTINUE MESSING UP AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THEM THEY PROBABLY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BUT NOT THE COMPUTER AND RADIATOR WHICH IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. I THEN PAID ANOTHER $2400 TO GET IT FIXED CORRECTLY. THEN, THERE WAS THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE, WHY DID IT BREAK, WHO KNOWS, BUT IT SHOULDN'T HAVE.. SO THAT WAS ANOTHER $2300. I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE BOTH SIDES OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHICH WERE ABOUT $300 EACH AND A BALL BARING I BELIEVE ITS CALLED WAS GONE. CURRENTLY, MY HORN ONLY WORKS WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT AND STEERING IS GETTING HARDER TO TURN SO I THINK MY PUMP IS GOING OUT; CHECKED THE FLUIDS AND THEY ARE FINE. I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET EITHER OF THOSE PROBLEMS FIXED RIGHT NOW. OH, DID I MENTION MY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS? MY WINDOWS ARE TEMPERAMENTAL AND DON'T ALWAYS GO DOWN WHEN I WANT THEM TOO. SUDDEN NOISE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, SOUNDING LIKE LIQUIDS BEING EXPELLED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE PEGS TO HIGH. LIMPED ALONG THE HIGHWAY UNTIL I COULD REACH A SAFE POINT TO PULL THE OVERHEATING VEHICLE OFF ROAD. ARRANGED FOR A TOW AND HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE INSPECTION REVEALED FAILURE OF THE RADIATOR. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION AND WITH SOME RESEARCH, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT NISSAN HAS A KNOWN DESIGN FLAW THAT CONTRIBUTES TO THE EVENTUAL FAILURE, IN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT, OF THE COOLING AND TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS. MY VEHICLE WAS MIXING ENGINE COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID TOGETHER. THE SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE RADIATOR, EXPELLED ENGINE COOLING AND TRANSMISSION FLUID IN A SUDDEN AND RAPID EVENT.
