AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK AND GETTING BACK ON THE HIGHWAY, I NOTICED MY GAS GAUGE WAS READING I HAD 1/4 TANK AND MY TACHOMETER WAS FLASHING DASHES ALL THE WAY ACROSS. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND CHECKED TO SEE IF MY GAS CAP WAS ON AND IT WAS. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING FINE SO I CONTINUED ON MY WAY. EVENTUALLY, THE GAS GAUGE MOVED TO THE FULL POSITION AND MY TACHOMETER BEGAN TO KEEP THE MILES TO EMPTY, BUT NOT ACCURATELY. ONCE I GOT HOME, I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. CAMPAIGN ID 10V075000. I'VE CONTACTED NISSAN 4 DIFFERENT TIMES AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP ME WITH THIS MATTER. MY VEHICLE'S GAS GAUGE WILL NOT GO BELOW 1/4 TANK. I'VE ALREADY RUN OUT OF GAS TWICE BECAUSE I FORGOT TO KEEP TRACK. RUNNING OUT OF GAS ON US HWY 275 SOUTH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IS NOT FUN. I WAS LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V690000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,557.
DRIVING IN HWY RAINY DAY, WIPER STOPPED THAN MOVED. I HAVE TO PULL ASIDE THAN IT WORKED FOR A WHILE THAN WOULD NOT STOP TILL ENGINE IS OFF. *TR
CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP IT WAS AS IF IT WAS NOT SHIFTING TO FIRST GEAR FROM A STOP. ALSO WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WOULD BEGIN TO SHUDDER VIOLENTLY AND WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AS IT TURNS OUT, A LINE INSIDE RADIATOR COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION BROKE AND CAUSED CONTAMINATION. COOLANT MIXED WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID CREATED A SLUDGE THAT CONTAMINATED BOTH COOLANT SYSTEM AND TRANSMISSION. RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AND COOLANT SYSTEM FLUSHED AS WELL AS TRANSMISSION FLUSHED. A WEEK LATER THE CAR WAS PARKED AND WOULD NOT START. AS IT TURNS OUT THE TRANSMISSION BLEW A FUSE AND WAS NOT REGISTERING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. THIS IS ALL RELATED TO THE SAME PROBLEM THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) WAS BURNED OUT FROM THE SLUDGE CREATED BY COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID. SO NOW, EITHER THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE CLUTCH AND GEARS ARE POTENTIALLY BURNED UP OR THE TCM. WITH JUST A TCM THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT FAIL DUE TO NO WAY OF KNOWING THE CONDITION OF THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION GEARS. VEHICLE IS STILL IN THE SHOP FOR OVER A MONTH NOW AND WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR TO MEET OUR TRANSPORTATION NEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION DUE TO POOR DESIGN OF THE COOLING SYSTEM FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THIS ISSUE COST $4200 TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTOR AND RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,145.
THE PASSENGER SIDE "AIRBAG CHECK" AND SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT IS ON ON MY VEHICLE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. THEY ARE ON WHENEVER THE ENGINE IS ON, WHETHER THERE IS A PASSENGER ON THAT SEAT OR NOT. MY CAR FAILED TO PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE OF IT. I NOTICED FROM THE NHTAS WEBSITE THAT CERTAIN NISSAN PATHFINDER SOLD IN MASSACHUSETTS IN 2008 ARE INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. HOWEVER, MY CAR IS NOT YET INCLUDED IN THE RECALLING LIST. BY THE WAY, THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY COLLISION OR OTHER ACCIDENT. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER PATHFINDER AND IT STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. MY WIFE IS DISABLED AND HAS HAD MANY BACK SURGERY. THE RADIATOR IS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO STALL AT ANYTIME LOOSING POWER TO THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. I BELIEVE THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE LOSING POWER DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH A TRUCK BEHIND YOU CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. 2 GENTLEMEN GOT OUT OF THERE VEHICLES TO PUSH MY WIFE TO SAFETY. *TR

VEHICLE THREW A CODE (P0463 - FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT) INDICATING THE FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT IS MALFUNCTIONING. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHICH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA IS AWARE OF HOWEVER FAILING TO CORRECT ON MANY VEHICLES. FAILURE OF THE FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT HAS MANY POSSIBLE SEVERE SYMPTOMS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 1) FAILURE OF THE FUEL GAUGE TO PROPERLY INDICATE LEVELS OF FUEL, 2) FAILURE OF THE FUEL GAUGE IN ITS ENTIRETY AND/OR 3) FAILURE OF THE SENDING UNIT TO PROPERLY FUNCTION WHILE IN VEHICLES ARE IN USE POTENTIALLY CAUSING AFFECTED VEHICLES TO SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. ALSO A KNOW PROBLEM WITH RADIATOR LEAKING INTO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH RESULTED IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. SETTLEMENT WAS REACHED IN WHICH NISSAN OFFERS TO PAY FOR ANY AND ALL REPAIRS ONLY IF MALFUNCTION OCCURS, HOWEVER WHEN MALFUNCTION OCCURS IT CAN BE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AFFECTING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE IMPACTED VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART, BUT THE GEAR WAS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VALVE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
MY BRAKES LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. I HAVE REPLACED ALL THE BULBS AND THEY ARE STILL IS NOT WORKING. THERE IS A FORUM ON THE WEB REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR

STARTED NOTICING A VIBRATION IN THE PATHFINDER AT 40 MILES PER HOUR. CALLED TO SET AN APPOINTMENT AND THE DEALER DID NOT GET BACK TO ME. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE CALLED AGAIN AND GOT THROUGH AFTER WAITING 20 MINUTES. TOOK IT IN TODAY AND WAS TOLD I NEED A RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FOR $4500.00. I TOLD THEM TO LET ME THINK ABOUT IT. THEN FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS GOING ON WITH MANY NISSAN VEHICLES. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT BUT BECAUSE I NOW HAVE OVER 100000 MILES IT DOES NOT APPLY TO ME. SO THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT IS TOTALLY OUT OF POCKET FOR ME. IF THEY KNOW OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT SHOULD THIS NOT BE A RECALL. *TR
COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSED TO RESOLVED AS WE HAD IT CLEANED UP...THE VEHICLE WORKED OK FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THE PROBLEM REAPPEARED GETTING WORSE AND WORSE...THE VEHICLE IS UNDRIVABLE AT THIS POINT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I'VE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL.
I, A FEMALE, PURCHASED A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER FROM INTEGRITY CHEVROLET IN CHATTANOOGA, TN. A DAY LATER THE PATHFINDER IS SKIPPING, VIBRATING AND RATTLING, REAR END CLUNKING AT 40 MPH. SHIFTS HARD AT 4 AND 5. GOT 4 MECHANICS AND THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO CHECK ALL THIS OUT AND THEY ALL CONCLUDED THE COOLANT OVERFLOW TANK WAS FILTHY, STINKS- NOT THE SWEET SMELL- SMELLED BURNT AND RUSTY. THE VALVES WERE BLOATED AND RADIATOR CAP SEAL WAS LOOSE. LOW ON COOLANT, HIGH IN WATER. TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED AND CHECKED FOR 'SLUDGE'! THE DEALERSHIP'S ASSOCIATE, [XXX] , ASSURED ME THE 2008 PATHFINDER HAD BEEN SERVICED AND ALL FLUIDS CHECKED AND FILLED. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE 4 MECHANICS ALL STATED THAT 'NO SERVICE OR FLUIDS WERE CHECKED!' IF IT HAD BEEN, THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE! THE COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR IS MIXING WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION, CAUSING A MILKY- SLUDGE. NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME THAT THIS DEALERSHIP, INTEGRITY CHEVROLET, IN CHATT, TN, DID NOT KNOW OF THIS ISSUE- IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN PATHFINDERS, XTERRAS AND FRONTIERS YEARS 2006-2010. ANY GOOD ASSOCIATE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS ISSUE- IN ORDER TO SELL THIS AUTOMOBILE HONESTLY! [XXX] , TO WHOM I HAVE KNOWN FOR OVER 20 YEARS, SCREWED ME OVER AND SAW AN UNKNOWING, INNOCENT WOMAN COMING HIS WAY! I HAD TO BE A GOOD JOKE THAT DAY. SES INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. LOSS OF POWER WAS NOTICED. TOOK VEHICLE TO INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER WHERE CODE WAS READ INDICATING FUEL SYSTEM ERROR. UPON FURTHER DIAGNOSIS, THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WAS RECALLED. WHEN THE SELLING DEALER WAS NOTIFIED THEY SAID THE RECALL DATE HAD EXPIRED AS OF LAST NOVEMBER AND WAS NOT COVERED. THE COST TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WAS MORE THAN $970. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BUT WERE NOT. SINCE THE PARTS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FROM NISSAN, THE COST OF THE PARTS SHOULD BE COVERED EVEN AFTER EXPIRATION OF THE RECALL ESPECIALLY WITH THE LOSS OF POWER. *JS
2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER STOPPED SHIFTING INTO REVERSE. WENT TO DEALER. THEY CLAIM THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND COOLANT FLUID ARE MIXING AND SAID IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. COST: $3000 UNTIL IT REACHES 100, 000 MILES; THEN IT WILL BE $9785.88. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ALL SERVICE APPOINTMENTS AND NO MENTION OF THIS DEFECT WAS MADE. CAR IS NOW UNUSABLE UNTIL I CAN GET THE 3000.00. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS GOING ABOUT 60MPH AND THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKED NEARLY GIVING ME WHIPLASH. I THEN LOOKED DOWN AT THE GAUGE CLUSTER AND NO LIGHTS WERE ON AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL, AND IN ABOUT 5 SECONDS IT DID IT AGAIN... THE CAR THEN STARTED UP AND I DROVE SLOWLY AROUND MY NIEGHBORHOOD AND IT SEEMED OK. THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE TOOK IT BACK TO O'RELIY TO HAVE THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AND IT WAS FINE. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS SOMETHING WRONG TO CAUSE IT TO SHUT DOWN LIKE THAT AND AS SHE WAS DRIVING HOME IT DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN PATHFINDERS AND THAT THEY DID NOT LET THE OWNERS KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR FLUID MIXING WITH THE TRANNY FLUID AND RENDERING THE VEHICLE USELESS. I CALLED NISSAN TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT I AM OUT OF LUCK SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
AFTER MONTHS OF SEARCHING FOR A GOOD USED CAR, I RESEARCHED, VERIFIED, TEST DROVE, AND GOT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANICS CHECK ON A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER SOLD BY A PRIVATE SELLER AS "IN PERFECT AND EXCELLENT WORKING CONDITION" BOUGHT IT ON A SATURDAY NITE, DROVE IT 20 MINUTES HOME, THEN DROVE IT FOR THE NEXT FIRST TIME TWO DAYS LATER ON A LONG 200 MILE TRIP OUT OF COUNTRY. I BEGAN TO HEAR THE STRANGE HIGH PITCHED NOISE ALONG THE WAY. WHEN I ARRIVED TO MY DESTINATION,I IMMEDIATELY CONTRACTED A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS INTERNAL, RECOMMENDING I TAKE TO NISSAN FOR ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS. I ALSO CALLED 4 DIFF NISSAN DEALERSHIPS, AND WHO DIAGNOSED THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE OVER THE PHONE,.I ALSO CALLED NISSAN CORP AND OPENED A CLAIM WAS ADVISED TO GET FORMAL DIAGNOSIS FROM A DEALERSHIP. I ANXIOUSLY DROVE BACK THE 200 MILES AND TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. FYI, I CONTACTED ORIGINAL SELLER WHO STATED AGAIN SHE KNEW NOTHING OF THE PROBLEM BUT COULD NOT HELP. I NOW HAVE FORMAL DOCUMENTATION OF THE TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM AND REPAIR ESTIMATE $1,650, ALSO, I WAS ADVISED TO IMMEDIATELY REPLACE MY RADIATOR DUE TO A WELL KNOWN, DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH LEAKAGE INTO THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS CAR. I ALSO DID MORE RESEARCH FINDING HUNDREDS OF DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE TWO ABOVE FAULTY AND WELL KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE PATHFINDERS AND A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! MY NEW $10,500 CAR IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, AFTER ONLY DRIVING IT ONE TIME IM LOOKING AT $3000 WORTH OF NECESSARY WORK, AND I WILL STILL BE AFRAID TO PUT MY 3 DAUGHTERS INTO THIS VEHICLE UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION! NISSAN HAS YET TO GET BACK TO ME, IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT NISSAN HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE SERIOUS ISSUES. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO RISE ABOVE THREE QUARTERS OF A TANK AFTER REFUELING TO FULL CAPACITY AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN MADE THE CONTACT AWARE THAT RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE FAILURE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED SINCE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

THE CONCERN IS THAT THE FUEL SENSOR EITHER REGISTERS EMPTY AND I CAN RUN OUT OF GASOLINE. OR AS I AM FILLING MY VEHICLE, IT MAY NOT SENSE THE LEVEL OF GASOLINE IN THE TANK AND CAUSE AN OVERFILL SITUATION. AS I LIVE IN A NEAR NON ATTAINMENT AREA, THIS SITUATION COULD BE IMPACT FUEL OF THE ENVIRONMENT. *TR
NOTICED A SHUTTER DURING ACCELERATION. SERVICE DEPT SUGGESTED REPLACING THE RADIATOR DUE TO FAULTY RADIATOR THAT LEAKED FLUID INTO TRANNY SO I DID.I FELT THE SHUTTER ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER! I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THE CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. I PLACED A CLAIM WITH CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD I WAS 1500 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY SORRY. UPON DRIVING AT 25MPH THE RPM'S INCREASED WITHOUT ANY POWER. NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS I GAVE IT O WOULD ONLY CRAWL AND COULD BARELY EXIT THE INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. CAR SUDDENLY STALLS AND WILL NOT DRIVE IN "REVERSE". PER MECHANIC, THERE IS A CRACK IN THE RADIATOR WHICH IS ALLOWING COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR TO ENTER INTO THE TRANSMISSION. APPARENTLY, THERE HAS BEEN A PREVIOUS LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. A RECALL ON THESE "CRACKED RADIATORS" MUST BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
WAS IN TRAFFIC AND FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WAS AT 1/4 TANK. I DECIDED TO STOP AT MY USUAL GAS STATION TO FILL UP. I COMPLETELY FILLED THE TANK AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE I NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE DIDN'T GO BACK UP TO FULL. IT TOOK OVER 30 MILES FOR IT TO FINALLY GO BACK UP TO FULL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. EVER SINCE THEN FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T GO DOWN PAST 1/4 TANK AND IF I DON'T USE MY TRIP ODOMETER TO GAUGE HOW MANY MILES I HAVE GOWN I WOULD RUN OUT OF GAS! I FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM FROM OTHER OWNERS AND FOUND A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. ALSO FOUND WHERE NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNDER RECALL/WARRANTY. I CONTACTED NISSAN WITH MY VIN NUMBER AND THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT ONE OF THE RECALLS. THEN I ASKED FOR A LIST OF THE VIN NUMBERS FOR ALL THE PATHFINDERS RECALLED FOR THIS AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GIVE OUT THAT INFORMATION. I TOLD THEM I WANTED VISUAL PROOF THAT MY CAR WAS NOT ONE OF THE RECALLS SINCE I HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. AGAIN THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE THIS. MY 2008 PATHFINDER'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE MY FUEL GAUGE IS SHOWING EMPTY WHEN I WOULD FILL UP CONSTANTLY, THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS APPROX. 105,000. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS MY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR THAT NEEDED REPLACED, NISSAN NORTH AMERICA INFORMS ME MY VIN ISN'T COVERED IN THE NHTSA REFERENCE #10V075000 RECALL OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR THAT BEGAN MARCH 2010, I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE USED AFTER THE RECALL WAS INITIATED. DUE TO THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR NEEDING REPLACED ($600), I WAS NOT ABLE TO PASS MY EMISSIONS TEST IN CO ($25), AND AM NOT ABLE TO REGISTER MY VEHICLE ($200). SO IF I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY OWN REPAIRS I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE A PART THAT NISSAN IS AWARE HAS AN ISSUE, GET A SECOND EMISSIONS TEST AND PAY ANY LATE FEES ON TOP OF MY ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE. I BELIEVE THAT IF NISSAN IS AWARE OR THIS ISSUE THEY SHOULD REPAIR MY VEHICLE AT NO COST TO ME AND/OR IF A RECALL WAS INITIATED THEN THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE EXPLANATION AS TO WHY MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED.

I STARTED FEELING MY CAR SLIP GEARS WHEN IT REACHED CERTAIN SPEEDS, AS WELL AS THE VDC, SLIP AND ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS, AS I WAS DRIVING, MY CAR OVERHEATED AND THE ANTIFREEZE POURED OUT OF IT. THE RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN MY HUSBAND CALLED NISSAN AND TOLD THEM OUR ISSUE, AND THAT OUR MILEAGE WAS 103,000, THEY SAID WE WERE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $6,000 (OBVIOUSLY KNOWING WHAT THE ISSUE WAS FROM ALL THE OTHER TRANSMISSIONS THAT WERE RUINED FROM THEIR ERROR). MY HUSBAND'S FRIEND, WHO IS MECHANIC, REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. IT SEEMED TO RUN FINE FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, WITH THE OCCASIONAL FLUSH OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, THE CAR BEGAN SLIPPING AGAIN. BY YESTERDAY, IT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF SECOND GEAR. MY TRANSMISSION IS SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN, AS WE HAVE BEEN LOYAL CUSTOMERS FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS. I LOVED MY PATHFINDER, AND WOULD THINK THAT AFTER SPENDING $36,000 ON A CAR, IT WOULD HOLD UP LONGER THAN 6 YEARS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MANUFACTURING ERROR AND THAT THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY ($119.21), RADIATOR ($266.95), RADIATOR HOSE ($14.35), SERPENTINE BELT ($29.95). THEY USED A TRANSMISSION FLUSH KIT ($29.95), A COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH KIT ($29.99) AND A GLOBAL EXTENDED LIFE COOLANT ($29.92). THEY USED $50.00 IN SHOP SUPPLIES AND LABOR WAS $587.00. THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY MODEL OF PATHFINDER FOR AIR BAG ISSUES. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER THAT RECALL. AT 94000 MILES THE ISSUE MANIFESTED ITSELF EVEN AFTER THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE ISSUE. WHEN THERE IS NOBODY IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT THE LIGHT ON THE DASH WILL SHUTOFF INDICATING THERE IS SOMEBODY IN THE SEAT EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO PASSENGER. THE AIR BAG SENSOR ON THE STEERING COUNSEL WILL THEN START FLASHING THAT AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED. I CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATE TO ADVISE THEM THAT THE ISSUE IS STILL OCCURRING FOR WHAT MY RECALL COVERED. THEY DID NOT CARE THEY ONLY ADVISED ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS ALREADY RECEIVED THE RECALL FOR THAT ISSUE.. THEY THEN ADVISED ME THAT IF 'D LIKE IT REPAIRED I HAVE TO TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIR OUT OF POCKET AT A NISSAN DEALER. THEY DID NOT ASK FOR ANY INFO AT ALL JUST BLEW ME OFF. I AM WRITING TODAY AS I READ IN TIME MAGAZINE THAT NHTSA IS OPENING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE AIRBAG RECALLS ON THE NEWER MODELS AND NISSAN FAILED TO REPAIR THEM PROPERLY. I AM ADVISING YOU THAT NISSAN'S RECALLS ON THE 2008+ ALSO DID NOT WORK, AND NISSAN REFUSED TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED IT WHEN I CALLED THEM AND EMAILED THEM. *TR
