TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE UNLATCHED WITHOUT WARNING AND STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD AND THE ROOF, RIPPING THE TWO QUARTER PANELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE HOOD LATCH WAS DEFECTIVE. AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE, THE ROOF, HOOD, TWO QUARTER PANELS, AND THE WINDSHIELD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE TIRES WORE VERY QUICKLY ON THE BACK. I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. I ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 5-6 MONTHS WHEN I FIRST NOTICED HOW BADLY THE TREAD HAD WORN DOWN. THE FRONT TIRES ARE WORN VERY BADLY AND I BARELY HAVE 26000 MILES. THERE IS NO REASON THE TIRES SHOULD HAVE WORN DOWN THIS QUICKLY. WITHIN LESS THAN TWO YEARS I WILL HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL OF THE TIRES.
1) MY DRIEVR SIDE DOOR LEVEL BROKE UNABLE TO EXIT VEHICLE. 2) VEHICLE SOMETIMES TAKES A LONG TIME TO STOP WITHOUT WARNING. 3) ON A CURVE WHILE BRKING OR FROM BRAKE TO ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE STUTTERS OR HESITATES TO GO. ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE AS I LIGHTLY HOVERED THE BRAKE WHILE TURNING OR IN STRAIGHT LINE IT HESTIATES TO PROVIDE ACCELERATION. (DEALER SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR THIS)THEY NEED CODES I WAS TOLD. 4) ALL BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS BOTH WENT BAD BEFORE 25,000 MILES. 5) RIGHT FRONT BEARING WENT BAD AT APPROX 6000 MILES CAUSING ACCELERATED TIRES WEAR (I HAD TO BUY NEW TIRES) AT 10K MILES ON A 60-75K TIRE. 6) PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME(CURRENTLY HAD CAR IN THEY SAID THEY WERE GETTING A PART) I AVERAGE 10-12K A YEAR AND PARK IN A LARGE OPEN DRIVEWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 65-70 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT IT FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REED NISSAN CLERMONT (LOCATED AT 16005 FL-50, CLERMONT, FL 34711, (352) 293-2777) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. *DT CONSUMER STATED ISSUE CONTINUED AND ALMOST WRECKED OVER 5 TIMES DUE TO NOT ACCELERATING. NISSAN IGNORED IT AND KEPT STATING COULDN'T DIAGNOSE. THEN HAULED THE TRANSMISSON TWICE AFTER REPENTED ISSUES. PULLING OUT OF DEALERSHIP ALMOST GOT HIT. NOW THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. NEW TRANSMISSION SHOP TOOK IT APART. NOT REPAIRED PROPERLY. NOTE: ACCORDING TO THE ERROR CODE IT IS HARD SET, MEANING NEVER REPAIRED. NISSANS OWN BULLETIN STATED SHOULD NOT BE REPAIRED BUT REPLACED. PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. UPDATED 10/30/18*JB
I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER ON 4 DIFFERENT TIMES, THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED THE AIRBAG, BUT AFTER THE FIX MY LIGHT CONTINUES TO BE ON INTERMITTENTLY EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT NISSAN SAID THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT WASN'T WORKING. I FEEL THAT NISSAN IS NOT HONORING THEIR WARRANTY, I BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND THE LIGHT ISN'T WORKING AND I CAN'T BE SURE THE AIRBAG IS WORKING EITHER. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC KEY, I WAS GIVEN A NEW BATTERY IN MY FOB BUT I STILL CONTINUE TO GET A NO KEY DETECTED AT DIFFERENT TIMES EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING THE DASH WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN SAY NO KEY DETECTED. MY LAST PROBLEM IS WITH THE CAR ROLLING BACK ON A HILL, I PURCHASED AN AUTOMATIC, WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL I HAVE TO GUN THE ACCELERATOR TO STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACK ON THE CAR BEHIND ME. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME TO TREAT THE CAR LIKE A MANUAL AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE ACCELERATOR. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO THAT NISSAN WILL NOT REPAIR ANYMORE TRANSMISSIONS. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW CAR, IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION THEY SHOULD FIX IT. AGAIN I HAVE HAD MY SUV INTO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL A FOUR THOUSAND POUND BOAT OUT OF THE WATER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE AND THE TIRES STARTED TO BURN. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO PULL THE BOAT AND SUBMERGED INTO THE WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.
BOUGHT 2014 PATHFINDER IN 12/2013. NOTICED TRANSMISSION VIBRATION AND SHUDDER DURING LONG TRIP AND UPON RETURN COMPLAINED TO DEALER. I HAD NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM IN OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES SO WAS UNAWARE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO DID TEST DRIVE, BUT SAID COULD NOT DUPLICATE, BUT SAID PROBLEM WAS WITH CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT) TORQUE CONVERTER. OFFERED NO REMEDY. I DO NOT FEEL SECURE IN TRAFFIC AS DO NOT KNOW IF TRANSMISSION IS DAMAGED BY SHUDDERING. NISSAN DID A CVT REPROGRAM TO IMPROVE TRANSMISSION DIAGNOSTIC AND SERVICE, BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS DOES TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE OF TRANSMISSION. NISSAN WILL TELL ME NOTHING. I AM REQUESTING A CVT RECALL BY NHTSA TO FACILITATE NECESSARY REPAIRS AS IT I REGARD THE UNIT A SAFETY HAZARD.
TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY SHUDDERS AT 10-20 MPH CAUSING POOR DRIVABILITY AND POTENTIAL LOSS OF CONTROL. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED SEVERAL TIMES AND REPLACED WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION AT 19,413 MILES. SHUDDERING HAS STARTED AGAIN, THE DEALER APPLIED THE LATEST RECALL (PC357) BUT NO REAL CHANGE IN OPERATION. I STARTED A CASE WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS (18336725) BUT THE CONTACT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ACTUALLY TALK WITH. NISSAN LEFT ONE VOICE MAIL WHILE I HAVE LEFT 6 VOICE MAILS OVER 2 DAYS WITH NO CALL BACKS. *TR
AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (NEW IN 2014) THE VISORS BEGAN MAKING POPPING NOISES WHEN LOWERED AND WOULD NOT STAY IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME AND NOW THEY WILL NOT STAY UP AT ALL. THEY ARE OBSTRUCTING MY VISION WHILE DRIVING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND SENT AN ENGINEER TO INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED, THE AIR BAG SENSOR WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THIS INDICATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS DEACTIVATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE OSC UNIT WAS FAULTY. THE UNIT WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WHEN A 125 POUND PASSENGER OCCUPIED THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY DEFECTS WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SHOULD DEACTIVATE FOR PASSENGERS UP TO 130 POUNDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,257.
I CALLED NISSAN IN JUNE TO REPORT THAT MY CAR WAS SHAKING AND TREMBLING AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS WHILE COASTING, ACCELERATING AND BRAKING. I BROUGHT IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A TRANSMISSION UPDATE. 2 WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM RETURNED. AT TIMES I NEED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT TO GET THE SHAKING TO STOP. WHEN I LOOKED ONLINE THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM. OVER 29000 ALREADY ARE "LEMONS". I BROUGHT IT BACK AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEN BROUGHT IT BACK AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A NEW UPDATE (1 DAY LATER). I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE AND THEY WERE LOOKING INTO BUYING THE CAR. THEY THEN PUT IN A NEW TRANSMISSION AS I HAD REFUSED TO PICK UP THE CAR. THEY PUT IT IN THE DAY THEY CALLED TO SAY IT WOULD BE DONE TOMORROW SO WHEN I CALLED TO ASK THEM NOT TO, IT WAS ALREADY BEING DONE. NOW NISSAN WILL NOT BUY THE CAR AS IT HAS A NEW TRANSMISSION. THERE ARE REPORTS OF HAVING 3 NEW TRANSMISSIONS AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. CARS ARE BREAKING DOWN. NISSAN IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD IN 2-3 WEEKS THEY WILL CALL AND IF THE CAR IS OK THEY WILL OFFER A SETTLEMENT. WHY A SETTLEMENT IF THE CAR IS OK UNLESS THEY REALIZE IT IS A PROBLEM? THE FACT THAT THIS IS A CONTINUATION FROM 2013 PROBLEM, AND THE CARS ARE CONTINUING TO BE SOLD WHILE NISSAN IGNORES THE PROBLEM PUTS PEOPLE IN DANGER. CARS ARE OVERHEATING AND BREAKING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. SOMEONE NEEDS TO HOLD NISSAN ACCOUNTABLE AND PUT PEOPLE FIRST. I STATED TO CORPORATE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE A TEST DUMMY FOR 2-3 WEEKS AND PUT MY LIFE AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD IN DANGER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE OCS AND REPLACED THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR SYSTEM; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING REPAIRS PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIR BAG LIGHT ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) ADJUSTED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED WHEN PEOPLE WHO WEIGHED OVER 120 LBS SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.*JB
2014 PATHFINDER WAS PURCHASED ON 5/17. ON 6/1 THE TRANSMISSIONS SHUDDERED WHILE ACCELERATING AT SLOW SPEED, WHICH RESULTED IN A LOSS OF POWER. THIS WAS REPEATED ON-DEMAND BY SERVICE TECHS AT OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP. IT WAS CONFIRMED BY THEM THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE CVT ON THE 2014 PATHFINDER. THE SOLUTION PROVIDED BY NISSAN AUTO IS TO REPLACE THE 2 WEEK OLD TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ARE SO PREVALENT THAT THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER AND HAVE NO CONFIRMED DATE AS TO A RESOLUTION. *TR

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE LOOSE FUEL CAP WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
PROBLEM ONE-THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT IS ON WHEN A 200 PLUS POUND OCCUPANT IS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED AND IS CONTINUING TO FAIL. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED. 3 TIMES CAUGHT ON FILM/ VIDEO AND FORWARDED TO THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER. NISSAN SENT AN ENGINEER TO RIDE WITH ME ON 7/31/2014 AND BLAMED THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE FAILURE. HE SAID THAT NISSAN SETS UP THE PARAMETERS BASED ON THE GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES AND IF THE LIGHT IS ON AND AIRBAG IS OFF THAT IS BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE ON AND DISABLED. CALL ME CRAZY BUT THAT SOUNDS LIKE HORSE CRAP AND DEFLECTION TO ME. I CAN FORWARD YOU THE VIDEOS IF YOU WOULD LIKE. PROBLEM TWO- THE CVT TRANSMISSION STARTED SHUDDERING AROUND 2200 MILES AND IS CONTINUALLY GETTING WORSE. THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND SAID THAT SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IT HAS CONTINUALLY GOTTEN WORSE. THE NISSAN ENGINEER RODE WITH ME ON 7/31/2014 AND SAID THAT HE FELT THE SHUDDER AND THAT IT WAS A COST OF ACHIEVING CAFA STANDARDS AND WAS ACCEPTABLE. HE STATED THAT WHEN MOST CUSTOMERS ARE TOLD THAT THE SHUDDER IS THERE BECAUSE OF FUEL ECONOMY THEY ACCEPT IT AND ARE SATISFIED. HE IMPLIED THAT I WAS JUST BEING DIFFICULT AND HARD TO PLEASE. I INFORMED HIM THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IF THAT WAS THE WAY IT DROVE AT THE TEST DRIVE AND EXPRESSED THAT IT WAS CONSTANTLY GETTING WORSE AND HE DISMISSED THE CLAIM. *TR

SPENT $42,000+ WHEN WE BOUGHT THE '14 PATHFINDER PLATINUM W/PREMIUM PKGE ON 03/06/14 AND IT STARTED THE "SHUDDER" ON 03/19/14. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, UPON RE-ACCELERATION, IT WOULD SHUDDER WHEN I HIT 20 MPH. IT FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS FIGHTING AGAINST ME TO SPEED UP. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER LOOKING AT IT THEY ARE PUTTING A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION IN IT. AFTER READING SEVERAL REVIEWS ONLINE (EDMONDS, KBB, ETC), THIS TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING AT 20 MPH IS A FRIGHTFULLY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND NEARLY STALL AT LOW SPEEDS. VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ALL POWER, AND THEN SUDDENLY SURGE. VEHICLE RETURNED TO ABELOFF NISSAN (BROADHEADSVILLE, PA) , AND THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THE ISSUE. NISSAN IDENTIFIED THE ISSUE AS THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. ON 02/05/2015 THIS SAME LOSS OF POWER WAS EXPERIENCED WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED. MY WIFE WAS ENTERING ROADWAY AND VEHICLE LOST POWER, NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE KEN POLLOCK NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN WILKES- BARRE, PA , AND THEY WERE EVENTUALLY ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE LOSS OF POWER. NISSAN-USA ADVISED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AS THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OFF WHEN PARKED. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON 02/16/2015, AND THE NEXT DAY THE SAME LOSS OF POWER OCCURRED THREE TIMES ON A FIVE MILE TRIP. NISSAN -USA WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT FILED. NISSAN HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, AND HAVE REFUSED TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE. NISSAN CONTINUES TO SELL THIS MODEL YEAR, AND I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE , AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
PURCHASED TWO 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDERS ON OCTOBER 2013 FROM SHEEHY NISSAN OF ANNAPOLIS. AFTER 1500 MILES ON ONE OF THEM STARTED HEARING A NOISE FROM THE LEFT DRIVER'S SIDE AREA ONLY WHEN GOING OVER 55MPH. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TECH HEARD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WAS NOT SURE WHAT WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. AFTER A WEEK PASTED SOMEONE FROM NISSAN CAME DOWN TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK AT THIS POINT I TOLD DEALER I NO LONGER WANTED TRUCK AND THAT I WOULD LIKE ANOTHER NEW VEHICLE IN ITS PLACE AND DID NOT MIND PAYING A FEW DOLLARS MORE FOR AND UPGRADED MODEL. SO THE GM CAME BACK WITH SOME GOOD NUMBERS AND OFF THE LOT I WENT WITH ANOTHER BRAND NEW 2014 FULLY LOADED PATHFINDER ON MARCH 8TH 2014 I STARTED FEELING THIS VERY HARD SHUDDERING WHEN DRIVING 0-20MPH I THOUGHT IT WOULD STOP BUT IT JUST GOT WORST SO ON MARCH 10TH 2014 I DROPPED TRUCK OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND TECH WAS ABLE TO HEAR AND FEEL WHAT I FELT AND THEY PLACED A CALLED TO NISSAN WHICH ADVISED THEM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE TRUCK ON FRIDAY MARCH 14TH 2014 THEY PULLED IT INTO THE BAY I GOT IN THE DRIVERS SET STARTED THE TRUCK AND RIGHT AWAY I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT GO DOWN ONLY UP AND DOWN. I CALLED THE SERVICE REP OVER AND ADVISED HIM WHAT WAS GOING ON AND HE CALLED HIS MANAGER OVER AND THEY BOTH SHOOK THEIR HEADS AND SAID YOU ARE REALLY HAVING A TUFF TIME WITH THESE PATHFINDERS AND SAID WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO DRIVE IT OVER THE WEEKEND TO TEST OUT THE NEW TRANSMISSION OR LEAVE IT HERE? SO I TOLD HIM LEAVE IT HERE AND THAT THIS WAS CRAZY HE SAID HE AGREES AND THAT HE WOULD CALL NISSAN MONDAY AND LET THEM KNOW THAT NOW THE NOW THE STEERING WHEEL HAS PROBLEMS. *TR

REAR AXLES IN NEW 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER 3 MONTHS OLD WITH 5000 MILES HAS SEVERELY RUSTED REAR AXLES. SEEMS AXLES WERE MADE WITH CHEAP MATERIALS THAT ARE BECOMING HEAVILY RUSTED. FRONT AXLES HAVE NO PROBLEMS. *TR
THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO "SHUDDER" AROUND 25 MPH. IT HAPPENED THE NEXT DAY AFTER I PURCHASED IT. I TOOK IT TO DEALER ON FOLLOWING MONDAY TO DO UNDERCOATING AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. I TOOK IT IN ABOUT A WEEK LATER AND THEY STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. I WAS IN THE AREA OF THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURRED. I ARRIVED AT DEALERSHIP AND SUPERVISOR WENT FOR A RIDE WITH ME AND WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. IT TOOK THEM ABOUT A WEEK TO GET THE PART AND HAD MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST A FULL WEEK TO INSTALL TRANSMISSION. ONCE I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK FROM THEM I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING. AFTER ABOUT 5 TRIES, THE VEHICLE WOULD START AND ALL MILEAGE AND FUEL GAUGES WOULD GO BACK TO ZERO. I WAS RECENTLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY DETERMINED THE BATTERY WAS HALF DEAD. THEY RECHARGED THE BATTERY LAST MONDAY, JUNE 16TH. I HAD NO ISSUES FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS AND ON THURSDAY, JUNE 19TH, THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. IT TOOK MANY TRIES TO GET IT STARTED. I HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER AGAIN TODAY. I BOUGHT A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER PLATINUM WITH 9 MILES, I DROVE IT HOME APPROX. 50 MILES AND FOUND I WAS GETTING I-KEY SYSTEM ERROR. DEALER INSTRUCTED ME IT WAS THE FOB PROGRAMMING ERROR, THEN THEY INSPECTED THE CAR AND TOLD ME A TRANSMISSION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE WHICH PREVENTED THE ECM TO RECOGNIZE THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE MODE NOT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. WITHIN THE NEXT 50 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH P0850 ERROR. MECHANIC FIXED THE ISSUE AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, NOT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG (ON/OFF) INDICATOR IS INTERMITTENT EVEN WHEN AN ADULT OVER 140LBS IS SITTING ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. SOMETIMES IT IS NOT OFF AS REQUIRED. I THINK BOTH ISSUES COULD POSE RISKS TO PASSENGERS AND MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS. I AM NOT A MECHANIC SO I AM NOT SURE IF THE SHIFTER SWITCH HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. *TR

CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING, TURNED OUT THE SHIFTER MECHANISM WAS AT FAULT - DOES NOT RECOGNIZE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE MORE OR PARKED OR NEUTRAL. B) PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR NOT WORKING NOTICED AT APPROX. 120 MILES. WAS INSTRUCTED THE SEAT NEEDED CALIBRATION. SEAT CALIBRATED. C) TOLD THE AIRBAG: WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS POSSIBLY THE WEIGHT OF THE PASSENGER, HOW THE PASSENGER SAT IN THE SEAT ETC. LATER TOLD THE DTC CODE NEEDED TO BE CLEARED. 3 HRS LATER WAS TOLD THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. D) PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STILL NOT WORKING AT APPROX. 2500 MILES. INTERMITTENT AFTER THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IS REPLACED. E) AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE REPLACED - AIRBAG INDICATOR STILL NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TOLD ME THE CAR IS NOT GOING TO BE RECALLED. I SHOULD GET THE VEHICLE FIXED AT A DEALER. STILL NISSAN DOES NOT THINK THERE IS ANY MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT IS NOT A LEMON AND SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED. F) READ ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE RECALL NOTICE ON NHTSA'S WEBSITE. NONE OF THE DOCUMENTS MENTION THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT INDICATOR (AUDIO OR VISUAL INDICATOR). ISSUE IS WHEN THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY MODULE FAILS, I BELIEVE THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR IS ALSO NOT WORKING CORRECTLY EITHER. I WROTE TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEY DO NOT SEEM TO CARE, NHTSA [XXX] INSTRUCTED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I JUST WANT NISSAN TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THE SEAT BELT ISSUE ALONG WITH THE AIRBAG SO CONSUMERS ARE SAFE. I AM NOT SURE IF THE SHIFTER IS RELATED OR NOT BUT IT IS ODD SEVERAL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS FAILED. DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE ALL SENSORS, I DO NOT THINK IT WILL FIX IT. I HAVE TAKEN MY NISSAN TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON, INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED, EVEN WHEN I AM SITTING ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. I AM AN ADULT WOMEN. I BROUGHT IT UP TO THEIR ATTENTION - THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I TOLD THEM THAT IT DOES NOT DO IT ALL THE TIME. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN - I TOOK A PICTURE, THEY SAID THE SAME THING AND DID WHATEVER TO IT - KEPT MY CAR FOR A MONTH, I WENT TO PICK IT UP AND IT DID IT AGAIN, WHILE DRIVING. THIS TIME I TOOK A VIDEO, CALLED IT IN TO NISSAN, AGAIN. THEY CALLED IN A SPECIALIST (WHY THEY DIDN'T DO IT WHEN THEY HAD THE CAR FOR A MONTH IS BEYOND ME). HE LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. HE CONTINUED BY SAYING THAT THE SEAT BELT IS ALL I REALLY NEEDED ANYWAY. THAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I NEED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND WAIT 10 SEC. AND THE CAR WOULD REALIGN ITSELF, THAT IT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO THE WAY I WAS SITTING ON THE SEAT AND THE CAR KNOWS WHAT TO DO. I AM DONE WITH NISSAN - THEY ARE BASICALLY TELLING ME THAT WHEN IT HAPPENS, LET'S SAY ON THE FREEWAY, AS IT HAS, IF I WANT THE AIRBAG, I NEED TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY (DANGEROUS), LET IT SIT FOR 10 SEC. AND THEN RE-JOIN TRAFFIC(DANGEROUS) OR I KEEP GOING WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF THE AIRBAG. I BOUGHT THE CAR BECAUSE I WANTED A SAFE CAR FOR MY NEW GRANDCHILD - THE SALESMAN CAN TESTIFY TO THIS. 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER PURCHASED 12/31/2013. TRANSMISSION ACTED ODD WITHIN FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP, BUT WAS TOLD IT TAKES SOME TIME TO GET USE TO THE CVT. ACCEPTED THE JUDDER FOR ABOUT A YEAR, AS IT WAS ONLY OCCURRING DURING SLOW SPEEDS IN PARKING LOTS. HAD A COUPLE CLOSE CALLS IN THE SPRING OF 2015, WHERE THE TRANSMISSION SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND THE CAR WAS STALLING IN INTERSECTIONS. DEALER SAID THEY NEEDED TO FLASH THE COMPUTER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WIFE DROVE THE CAR 9/15 (12,000 MILES ON ODOMETER), CAR CONTINUED TO JUDDER, SO WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP UNABLE TO REPLICATE. SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE, BUT UNTIL THE COMPUTER THROWS A FAULT CODE, THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO PERFORM WORK. I CALLED NISSAN NA, THEY DIDN'T REALLY CARE, SAID THAT THE REGIONAL REP WOULD CALL AT SOME POINT. 9/17, SERVICE REP CALLED AND SAID THEY STILL CANNOT FIND A CODE, ASKED THAT I PICK IT UP AND CONTINUALLY DRIVE IT IN THE CONDITION THAT CREATES THE JUDDER AND FORCE THE CAR TO THROW A CODE SO THEY CAN WORK ON A FIX. PURCHASE NEW, TWO TIMES IN THE SHOP, TWO MORE AND I WILL PURSUE STATE LEMON LAW. OUTSTANDING DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE MANAGER SUPPORT, BUT THEIR HANDS ARE TIED ON THIS ONE. BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE NISSAN CORPORATION KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT REFUSES TO FIX. THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND OTHER OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IMPORTANT. SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH, AS THE RESULT OF LOSS OF POWER IS NOT ENOUGH TO FIX. EVIDENTLY THE $4000.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER IS MORE VALUABLE THAN MY FAMILIES LIFE. WITHIN A FEW WEEK OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE WE RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS CONCERNING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND A SMALL PERSON. THIS WAS PERFORMED. LATER THE WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN MY WIFE, 106 POUNDS, WAS RIDING AS A PASSENGER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY HAD IT FOR A FEW DAYS AND I BELIEVE REPLACED SOMETHING. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED, INTERMITTENTLY, WHEN MY WIFE SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I RETURNED THE CAR TO A DEALER TWO WEEKS AGO AND ALL THEY DID WAS GIVE ME SEVERAL SHEETS OF PAPERS, MOSTLY FROM THE HANDBOOK, ABOUT HOW THE PERSON MUST SIT IN THE SEAT, IN THE CENTER WITH THEIR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT BACK, FEET ON THE FLOOR, THE HEATER FAN OFF AND EVEN IF THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY THEY WERE STILL WELL PROTECTED. THEY ALSO SAID, IN SO MANY WORDS, THAT THIS WAS ALL THEY WERE ALLOWED TO DO. IN OTHER WORDS NISSAN WAS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING. TO EXPENSIVE I GUESS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK UNTIL IT REACHED 40 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.

NISSAN REFUSES TO RECALL THE CAR. THEY CONTINUE TO ASK THAT YOU BRING THE CAR IN.. AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE 1ST CLUE ON HOW TO FIX IT.. THEIR ANSWER IS TO GIVE YOU ANOTHER TRANSMISSION AND CLAIM THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I HAD A 2013 THE BOUGHT BACK THE CAR AND GAVE ME A 2014 AND GUESS WHAT THE CAR IS STILL A PIECE OF GARBAGE. THE HOOD STARTS TO FLEX OR SHAKE AT SPEEDS OF 70MPH AND ABOVE. TRANSMISSION HAS A SEVERE SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING SLIGHTLY BETWEEN 20 TO 30MPH.
WHILE VACUUMING UNDER BACK SEATS NOTICED RUST UNDER SEATS. ONLY HAD VEHICLE 1 MONTH. SHOWED DEALERSHIP AT NEXT OIL CHANGE. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO DO ANYTHING I CONTACTED NISSAN MYSELF. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THIS RUST UNDER THE SEATS IS ENVIRONMENTALLY INDUCED FROM SALT ON THE ROADS WHILE TRANSPORTING THE VEHICLE FROM A NEIGHBORING STATE. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW WITH THE PLASTIC STILL INSIDE. HOW CAN SALT GET INSIDE THE VEHICLE? THEY SHOWED ME ANOTHER 2014 PATHFINDER JUST LIKE MINE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND IT TOO HAD RUST UNDER THE SEATS. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A DEFECT. *TR
THE WHOLE DASHBOARD SHAKING WHEN YOU TRY TO APPLY GAS AND IT USUALLY HAPPEN BETWEEN THE SPEED OF 0-20MPH ONLY. I HAVE AN APT WITH THE DEALER ON OCT 7TH TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE WHAT I AM SEEING ON THE WEBSITE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. PAID $44K FOR THIS CAR AND NOW I HAVE TO TRY AND SEE IF IT FIXES IT. THE DEALER TOLD ME IF THE SOFTWARE UPDATE DOESN'T WORK THEN THEY WILL ASK NISSAN USA CORP TO SEE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM CVT TRANSMISSION FROM NISSAN AS THIS COULD LEAD TO A CRASH. GOOD THING IT ONLY HAPPENS IN LOW SPEED ACCELERATION BUT IF IT HAPPENS IN A HIGH SPEED THIS WILL BE A BIG ISSUE. *TR
OCS PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG; GUESS THIS WOULD BE THE TAKATA INFLATOR; NOT SURE. RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN MAY AND DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE RECALL PART. SO NO ONE CAN RIDE IN MY PASSENGER SEAT; VERY INCONVENIENT. AND UNSAFE; SPENT ALOT OF MONEY ON THIS VEHICLE.
THE AIRBAG IN THE PASSENGER SEAT SHOWS AS "OFF" EVEN WHEN A FULL GROWN ADULT SITS IN THE SEAT. THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT BUT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR QUITE SOME TIME. COMMUNICATIONS WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS HAVE RESULTED IN NO SOLUTION. THEY HAVE INDICATED THAT SINCE THE COMPUTER IS NOT SHOWING AN ERROR CODE THEY CANNOT FIX IT. THEY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE LONG STRING OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ON THE SUBJECT.
I NOTICED A VERY HIGH PITCHED WHINING/WHISTLING NOISE WHEN I OPENED THE HOOD OF A 2 DAY OLD CAR. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LOW AND HAD IT TOPPED OFF. THE NOISE REDUCED VERY SLIGHTLY BUT ITS STILL THERE. THEY SAID THAT THE NOISE WAS MADE BY THE ELECTRIC ASSIST POWER STEERING PUMP AND WAS AT NORMAL LEVELS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF MY PREVIOUS VEHICLES MAKE SUCH A SOUND. IT FEELS LIKE WHATEVER PART MAKING THAT SOUND IS DUE FOR FAILURE. *TR
