JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, SHE STATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD HER THE FLASHING PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD WAS "NO PROBLEM". DESPITE 2 EFFORTS ON HER PART TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED, IT CONTINUES TO FLASH. WORRIED THAT THE SENSOR WILL NOT ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENT.
DURING PROLONG PERIODS OF DRIVING (2-2.5 HOURS) AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ACCELERATION WITHOUT WARNING. RPVS WILL NOT GO PAST 2500. SPEED WILL DROP TO 45-50 MPH. I'VE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED TWICE BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER (THE SPEED DROPS INSTANTLY). IT'S BEEN HAPPENING CONSTANTLY SINCE JUNE 2016. DRIVING SHORT DISTANCES WITHIN THE CITY IS NOT A PROBLEM, BUT CAN'T DRIVE SAFELY ON 75MPH HIGHWAYS WITHOUT LOSING POWER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROUGE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE SIDE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 118,000.
IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR NOW. THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THE CAR REVS UP WITH NO APPLIED ACCELERATION. IT WILL SLOW DOWN TO 45 MPH AND I'LL HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD CUT IT OFF AND RESTART THE CAR AND IT'LL STRAIGHTEN OUT FOR ANOTHER 30-45 MILES AND REPEAT. IT'S PRETTY DANGEROUS BC THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE. I'VE READ A LOT OF FORUMS AND IT SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM IN MOST NISSANS. NOT JUST THE ROGUE. I FEEL AS IF THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ON IMMEDIATE RECALL.
PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR STOPPED WORKING DISABLING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG.
THE 2008 NISSAN ROGUE WE PURCHASED IN MARCH 2009 HAS EXPERIENCED CONTINUAL CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURES. THE FIRST FAILURE WAS MAY 2009 AND THE CVT WAS REPLACED. THE PART WAS FOUND TO BE MALFUNCTIONING AFTER DETERMINING THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND WAS EXPERIENCING HIGH RPMS WHILE DRIVING. THE CVT WAS REPLACED AGAIN IN APRIL 2014 AFTER LOSING FUNCTIONALITY IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED HEIGHTENED RPMS, BEGAN DECELERATING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE GREATER THAN 20MPH. WE SAFELY EXITED THE EXPRESSWAY AT AN APPROACHING EXIT AND COASTED TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP LESS THAN THREE BLOCKS FROM THE EXPRESSWAY EXIT. NISSAN RECENTLY ALERTED US THAT THE CURRENT CVT TRANSMISSION IN OUR VEHICLE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN DESPITE HAVING ONLY 20,000 MILES SINCE THE REPLACEMENT IN 2014. NISSAN HAS DECLINED TO COVER THIS FAULTY PART IN THE VEHICLE AND HAS OFFERED INSTEAD TO PROVIDE A LONGER WARRANTY IF WE PURCHASE A BRAND NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD. IF THE CVT FAILS IN THIS VEHICLE, IT WILL HAVE BEEN THE THIRD TRANSMISSION DURING OUR OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE, REQUIRING A FOURTH TO BE INSTALLED.
I WAS DRIVING IN HIGHWAY CONDITIONS (55MPH IN 55MPH ZONE) WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND WOULD NOT GET ABOVE 30MPH. CARS BEHIND ME HAD TO SWERVE AROUND ME IN ORDER TO GET AROUND ME WITH THE SUDDEN DECELERATION. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF THE HIGHWAY & ONTO LOCAL ROADS. EVERY TIME I HAD TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR WOULD NOT INITIALLY ACCELERATE DESPITE ME PUSHING FULL DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS REPEATEDLY ALMOST RESULTED IN MY BEING HIT BY CARS BEHIND ME. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY MAKE IT HOME. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I AM BEYOND THE WARRANTY EXTENSION (ABOUT 9,000 MILES PAST THE 120,000 EXTENSION), SO I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL WITH THE # OF COMPLAINTS ALL ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO, IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY, DOESN'T THAT MEAN THEY MUST BE AWARE THAT IT IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM?! IT IS SO DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING AT 55 AND SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING DECELERATE SIGNIFICANTLY. IT IS A WONDER THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN HURT (& UNFORTUNATELY PROBABLY ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS). THIS APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR & MODEL OF ROGUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE SERVICED, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT SPIRAL CORD REEL AND AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,562.
TAKATA RECALL THERE IS AIR BAG ICON FLASHING ON THE DASH BOARD IN RED. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND IT LOOKS LIKE THIS WAS A RECALL REPORTED BACK IN OCTOBER 2008. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN NOVEMBER, 2008 AND I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I CALLED LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS RECALL DOES NOT POP UP BASED ON MY VIN AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR THIS ISSUE. MY LOCAL REPAIR MAN SAID IN ORDER TO FIX THIS, I HAVE TO CHANGE WHOLE SEAT WHICH COULD COST ME ABOUT $2000. THIS IS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND LOCAL DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE CARE THIS ISSUE. I AM SURE ANY SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY NISSANUSA. IF SOMEONE WAS DRIVING AND KILLED BY THE ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE AIRBAG DID NOT POP UP, WHAT WOULD YOU DO THEN.
CAR WILL LOOSE ACCELERATION WHEN DRIVING ON A FLAT HIGHWAY FOR NO KNOWN REASON, IT WILL GO FROM 70 MPH TO 30 PMH AND STRUGGLE TO MOVE. PRESSING ACCESLERATOR IS LIKE STEPPING ON AIR. GOING UP A SLIGHT INCLINE CAR WILL LOOSE ACCELERATION, AFTER 20-30 MILES DRIVEN WILL LOOSE ACCELERATION, AT STOP SIGNS, RED LIGHTS WILL LOOSE ACCELERATION WHEN GOING FROM BRAKES TO ACCELERATION NOTHING WILL HAPPEN CAR WILL NOT MOVE. CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 5K MILES SINCE PURCHASED USED FROM DEALERSHIP. ALSO CANNOT USE OVERDRIVE MODE, ENGINE NOISE IS VERY LOUD AND GRINDING ROUGH SOUNDS ARE HEARD .IF USING CRUISE CONTROL ACCELERATION ISSUES PLUS ENGINE SOUND WILL BOTH TURN UP AT SAME TIME. THIS IS BOTH HIGHWAY DRIVING, CITY STREET DRIVING AND ALWAYS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION.
I WAS HEARING & FEELING A NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING SO I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE NISSAN DEALERS SERVICE CENTER TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY STATED THAT MY TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THE TRANSMISSION WARRANTY TO 120K MILES BUT DOESN'T BACK THE TRANSFER CASE OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT RELATES TO THIS KNOW ISSUE. THEY SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR ALL ISSUES CONCERNING THIS MATTER.
I PURCHASED MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE 2/27/15 FROM JOHNS AUTO SALES SOMERVILLE MA HAD THE INSPECTION DONE IT PASSED A WEEK LATER ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND GAS GAUGE WAS NOT READING CORRECTLY TOOK IT BACK 3X THEY CLAIM THEY FIX IT BUT WAS STILL NOT READING CORRECTLY ON 2/ 27/16 I WENT TO GET INSPECTION STICKER IT FAILED SAFETY AND ADMISSION THE GAS GAUGE FUEL SENDER THE FLEX PIPE AND SUB FRAME HAD TO BE REPLACED THE COST 1107.00 I AM SO SICK OF GETTING SCREWED FROM THE BIG GUYS MAKING MONEY AND THE LITTLE GUYS GIVING IT SO MANY PEOPLE WHO OWN THE NISSAN ROGUE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SENDER NOT READING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF GAS I HAD RAN OUT IF HAD 2X IN THE FREEZEN COLD WITH MY PREGNANT DAUGHTER I AM OUT 1107.00 AND AT MY WITS END WHO STANDS UP FOR US NOBODY !!! MY CAR FAILED THE CAL SMOG CHECK ON 3/24/2016 PREVENTING ME FROM OBTAINING MY REGISTRATION TAGS. THE CAR PASSED EVERY TEST WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CODE P0463-FUEL LEVEL SENSOR "A" CIRCUIT HIGH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON ALSO. I TOOK THE CAR TO FIRST NISSAN IN SIMI VALLEY, CA AND THEY INDICATED IT WOULD COST $900 TO PULL THE ENGINE TO SEE IF THE FUEL SENSOR LEVEL EQUIPMENT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I ALSO CALLED NISSAN CORPORATION TO SEEK ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE COST. NISSAN CORP REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. I HAVE READ INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH MY YEAR NISSAN AND THAT THEY HAVE RECALLED VEHICLES AND PAID FOR THEIR REPAIR.
VEHICLE STARTED WITH A WHINING NOISE WHICH EVENTUALLY WAS FOLLOWED BY LOSS OF SPEED/POWER. ACCELERATION AFTER STOPPING WAS REDUCED TO A CRAWL, ALSO GRINDING NOISES AND SHAKING AND VEHICLE WANTING TO STALL. I AM NOW UNABLE TO DRIVE AS I AM FEARFUL OF DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW AND STILL OWE $6500, AND A NEW TRANSMISSION RUNNING APPROX $3000 THE EXPENSE DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. NISSAN KNOWINGLY SOLD VEHICLES TO CONSUMERS TO FILL THEY'RE POCKETS PUTTING ALL AT RISK AND FAIL TO SUPPORT THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP SIGN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ITS REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS EXPLODED AND EMITTED SMOKE AND DUST. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, BUT ALL THE PASSENGERS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. AFTER ALL THE PASSENGERS HAD EXITED THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY WHILE THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN DRIVE AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF A THIRD VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
MY CAR HAD A LOST POWER DRIVING BACK FROM ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF MY CAR IT STARTED UP AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT BACK SAFE BUT I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CVT. I REALLY SUCKS AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR RIGHT NOW.
INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR READING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. REASON -FAULTY FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT
ROAR AND GRINDING NOISE UNDER CAR BELIEVE TO BE TRANSMISSION / TRANSFER CASE OR BOTH. DRIVE GOOD SHIFTS GOOD RUNS GOOD. BELIEVE IF SOMETHING LOCKS UP IN THIS , IT COULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT BY COMING APART. CHECKING IT OUT FOUND LOTS OF OTHER WITH SAME PROBLEM. IF THEY KNOW OF THE DESIGN PROBLEM LOOK LIKE THEY COULD CORRECT OR REPLACE BAD PARTS. LOOK LIKE NISSAN DID NOT CARE ABOUT IT OR IF IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDEND AND PUT OUT A BAD DESIGN ANYWAY. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINS ON THE WEB, LOOKS LIKE NISSAN JUST PUSHING IT TO THE BACK AND WAITING ON TIME TO GO BY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND HALF. JUST THINK IT WRONG!
MY 2008 ROGUE HAS VIBRATION IN THE FRONT EVER SINCE I PURCHASED IT ... THE DEALER HAS TRIED TO FIX IT SEVERAL TIMES ... WENT TO NISSIAN 44 4 TIMES AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL .. WENT TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR PLACE THEY SHOWED ME WHEN MY CAR WAS ON THE LIFT ... THAT UNDERNEATH WAS KNOCKING BACK AND FORTH .. NOW THE DEALER AND NISSIAN ARE SAYING THIS IS NORMAL...I FEEL THE VIBRATION MOST AT TAKE OFF UP TO 40 OVER 40 IT GOES AWAY.
"DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSIONS" I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TO HAVE A LIGHT KNOCKING COMING FROM SOMEWHERE IN ENGINE CHECKED. I PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD THAT I FELL UNDER THE RECALL BUT NOT WITH CURRENT MILEAGE 131,099. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE CVT TRANSMISSION. I HEAR THE NOISE ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION NOT WHEN IT'S STATIONARY.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON IN CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION. THEY RESET IT AND TOLD ME THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY IF THE PASSENGER HAD THEIR SEATBELT ON. I HAD A PASSENGER IN THE CAR WITH THEIR SEATBELT ON AND THE WARNING LIGHT THAT STATES #2 PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED. NISSAN HAD TOLD BE BEFORE THEY RESET THE SENSOR THAT IT WOULD COST $1000 TO REPLACE THE CUSHION WITH THE SENSOR IN IT. I DONT KNOW IF I BELIEVE THE CAR OR NISSAN, WILL THE AIRBAG DEPLOY OR NOT. I DONT HAVE $1000 TO REPLACE CUSHION AND WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN THEY TOLD ME SORRY YOUR CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL OUT FOR THIS AIRBAG. I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING A PASSENGER IN MY CAR NOT KNOWING IF THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY OR NOT. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE GETTING HURT OR WORSE. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?
"TAKATA RECALL" I BOUGHT A NISSAN ROGUE IN 2008. SOON AFTERWARD THE SENSOR WENT OFF TO TELLS US THE THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG WAS OFF. THAT LIGHT HAS STAYED ON EVER SINCE. ABOUT EIGHT YEARS AGO, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. WHEN I TOOK IT TO NISSAN, THE TECHNICIAN SAID THE SENSOR IN THE SEAT WAS FAULTY, AND IT WOULD COST OVER $500 TO FIX. I THOUGHT THAT WAS TOO MUCH, AND I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE DEALER, BUT THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT. IT'S BEEN BROKEN/FLASHING EVER SINCE. WHEN THE RECALL FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS BEGAN, I RECOGNIZED THAT MY CAR WAS SUFFERING FROM THE COMMON COMPLAINTS ABOUT FAULTY AIRBAGS, AND SINCE PEOPLE WERE DYING I WAS CONCERNED. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT 2008 ROGUES WERE PART OF THE RECALL, SO I AGAIN TOOK MY CAR TO NISSAN, BUT THEY SAID MY PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL, THOUGH MANY 2008 ROGUES WERE. I THEN CALLED NHTSA'S VEHICLE HOTLINE, AND THE PERSON RECOMMEND I CALL A CORPORATE NISSAN NORTH AMERICAN NUMBER (1-800-647-7261). I TALKED TO A NICE WOMAN WHO SAID SHE WOULD TURN IN MY COMPLAINT AND SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME THE NEXT DAY. A MAN CALLED AND WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT MY ROGUE WAS NOT IN THE RECALL AND THAT NISSAN, THEREFORE, WOULD NOT COVER THIS PROBLEM. I'M PARTICULARLY WORRIED AS I LIVE IN HAWAII, WHICH IS VERY MOIST, AND THIS SEEMS TO INCREASE THE RISK OF THE AIRBAG GOING OFF. WHETHER IT'S A TAKATA ARIBAG OR NOT, THIS WAS CLEARLY A FAULTY PRODUCT, SO I FEEL IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE DEALER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS CONFIRMED; HOWEVER, THE REMEDY WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED NEW TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I HAVE A 2008 NISSAN ROUGE I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TANS GOING UP HILL ITS LIKE IT QUITS PULLING AND NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIT IS ON AND IT WANT CHANGE LIKE IT SHOULD TOOK IT THE DEALER HAD IT IN THE SHOP BEFORE TWICE AND THEY SAID IT FIXED IT WAS LEAKING FLUID FROM THE TRANS. AND NOW THIS HAPPENS GUEST SOME ONE HAVE TO GET HEART OR KILLED BEFORE SOME ONE MAKES NISSAN FIXES THE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLES WHEN THEY STOP WORKING THEY OUR A PROBLEM WITH IT I SEE ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS AND STILL NO ONE HAS DONE ANYTHING WHY.

MY MOTHER IN LAW WAS DRIVING ON WEDNESDAY LAST AT AROUND 35 MPH. IT WAS RAINING AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER THAT THIS WAS DUE TO A COLLISION EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO COLLISION. THE CAR DOESN'T HAVE A DENT ON IT ANYWHERE. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR WAS "ALL BEAT UP". HAVING BEEN AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC, I DON'T RECALL ANY AIRBAG SENSORS UNDERNEATH THE CAR. THEY ARE MAKING HER INSURANCE PAY TO CORRECT IT.
I HAD A NISSAN ROGUE CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE LAST YEAR. OUR CAR HAD MULTIPLE ACCELERATION ISSUES THAT WE GOT LUCKY WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY ACCIDENTS. ONE OF MANY ISSUE WAS ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND WE DECIDED TO GO ON A VACATION TO RELAX AFTER DAYS AND WEEKS OF HARD WORK AT THE OFFICE. AGAIN OUR VACATION WAS CUT SHORT. IT TOOK US 6 HOURS TO DRIVE A 2.5 HOUR DRIVE. I HAD TO STOP, LET THE TRANSMISSION COOL DOWN AND DRIVE AGAIN WITH A SPEED OF LESS THAN 50MPH SOMETIMES TAKING THE STREETS TO KEEP THE SPEED DOWN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, UNDER WARRANTY, THEY WANTED TO DO A FEW MINOR SERVICES. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY MORE ISSUES. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND AGAIN. FINALLY, I OPENED A CASE THROUGH NISSAN AND GOT MY CAR A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION HAS STARTING PROBLEMS AGAIN AND I AM REALLY TIRED OF THIS. I GOT A CALL FROM MY WIFE THIS MORNING THAT SHE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. SHE HAD LOSS OF ACCELERATION RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AS THE LIGHT TURNED RED AND AND CARS FROM THE OTHER SIDE STARTED TO GO STRAIGHT TO HER HONKING THEIR HORN. SHE SAID THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND FINALLY STARTED TO MOVE VERY SLOWLY. SHE WAS TERRIFIED AND CRYING. I AM REALLY TIRED OF THIS AND REALLY ITS UNACCEPTABLE. OUR ROUGE IS OUR ONLY CAR AND MY WIFE DRIVES IT TO AND FROM WORK AND IT IS AT THIS POINT THAT I CAN NOT ACCEPT THIS ISSUE ANYMORE, IT IS A DANGER TO MY FAMILY. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS CAR.
IT RAN OUT OF FUEL WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. THE GAS GUAGE SAYS THERES STILL HALF TANK. ROAD SERVICE ADDED GAS AND IT STARTED. UNTIL NOW THE GAS GUAGE IS STILL NOT GOING DOWN AS I DRIVE FOR MORE THAN 50 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE CAUSE IT COULD RUN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.
TRANSMISSION SAFETY ISSUE - WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED PULLING. WE WERE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND MY DAUGHTER WAS A PASSENGER IN THE BACK SEAT. THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, NO WARNING LIGHTS AT ALL! MY DAUGHTER AND I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.

ON AN OUT OF TOWN TRIP TO HEREFORD TEXAS FROM FT. WORTH TX., VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 60 MPH HALFWAY TO MY DESTINATION. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. TRANSMISSIONS IS ACTING UP AGAIN AFTER 40K MILES AND CANT BE TRUSTED TO BE ON THE ROAD AS THE YOU CAN STEP ON THE GAS ALL THE WAY AND SPEED WILL NOT EXCEED 60 MPH. IT SEEMS TO MESS UP WHEN ON LONGER DRIVES OF OVER 30 MINUTES WHEN THE TRANSMISSION GETS HOT.
WHEN PUTTING ON MY DRIVER SEAT BELT, I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE LATCH INTO THE BUCKLE AND THE ENTIRE BUCKLE ARM BECAME DETACHED FROM THE CAR, THE SCREW CAME COMPLETELY OFF OR SOMETHING. I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER 8/26/15 AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT 8/27/15 TO GET THIS PART FIXED. THE DEALER SENT ME HOME WITHOUT A WORKING SEAT BELT AND SAID THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND A WEEK HAS GONE BY AND STILL NO PART.

THE GAS GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WILL COME ON WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED ALMOST ALL OF THE TIME. AND THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SHOW HALF FULL AFTER BEING FILLED OR EVEN WHILE DRIVING. IT MAY ALSO SHOW EMPTY AT ANYTIME. IT MAY OR MAY NOT RETURN TO THE TRUE LEVEL IN THE TANK AT SOME POINT. YOU SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK WITHOUT USING THE TRIP ODOMETER TO TRACK YOUR MILEAGE BETWEEN FILL UPS. THE GAUGE IS OPERATIONALLY USELESS. ADDITIONALLY, THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON WITH THIS MAKING THE STATE INSPECTION A PROBLEM AND REQUIRING A REGULAR CHECK TO MAKE SURE SOMETHING ELSE HASN'T GONE WRONG. MONITOR CODE DISPLAYED IS PO463-FUEL LEVEL SENSOR A CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT. NISSAN REALLY NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND REPLACE THE FUEL SENSOR AT NO CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER OR DIAGNOSE AND FIX WHATEVER THE PROBLEM MAY BE. THIS IS AN ONGOING DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MANY NISSAN ROUGE OWNERS BASED ON WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME PROBLEM POSTED TO THE INTERNET CAR FORUMS AND MY OWN EXPERIENCE.

IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS IT LED TO THE CAR SMOKING AND AN EXTREME LOSS OF SPEED WHILE IN TRAFFIC. NISSAN KNOWS THERE ARE DEFECTS WITH THIS TRANSMISSION AND YET CONTINUE TO PUT THEM IN THE NISSAN ROGUES.

I GOOGLE THIS ISSUE AND SAW THAT IT WAS A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CO SUMER AFFAIRS FILED A CLAIM AND THEY SAID THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE PART. NISSAN DEALER IS CHARGING ME $1691 TO REPLACE THE SEAT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-647-7261 AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME I NOTICED A LARGE BLISTER POPPING OUT FROM THE BEAD RIM AREA.I NOTIFIED FIRESTONE MONTH DAY YEAR WERE THERE ANY DEATHS OR INJURIES? YES NO WAS THERE A FIRE:YESNO PROPERTY DAMAGE:YESNOABOUT THE DEFECT AND THEY REPLACED THE TIRE HOWEVER I NOTICED ON MY RECEIPT THEY WROTE THE WRONG DOT PLUG INFORMATION DOWN ON TWO OF THE TIRES ONE BEING THE BAD ONE. I CONTACTED FIRESTONE TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TIRE AND THEY SAID IT WAS FROM AN IMP 1057 CHARACTERS REMAINING FOR DESCRIPTIONACT. I KNOW THAT THIS IS TOTALLY UNTRUE SINCE I WORKED IN THE INDUSTRY FOR OVER 20 YEARS. IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT RIPPED THE BEAD AND NOT MY FAULT. THE TIRE WAS SO BAD THAT IF I HAD AN IMPACT THAT BAD IT WOULD HAVE EFFECTED BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR AS WELL AS DAMAGING THE RIM.I HAD MY LOCAL MECHANIC CHECK IT AND HE CONFIRMED WHAT I SAID AND WAS AMAISED I MADE IT HOME WITHOUT BLOWING OUT. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A DEFECT THEY NEVER OFFERED ANY COMPENSATION THAT I WAS LUCKY NOR REPLACED THE OTHER TIRE WITH THE WRONG DOT PLUG.I F NEEDED I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES TO PROVE MY CASE. ON A ROAD TRIP FROM LOS ANGELES TO LAS VEGAS, ENCOUNTERING NORMALLY HOT TEMPERATURES, AND AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF DRIVING, THE CAR LOST POWER COULD ONLY ATTAIN SPEEDS OF 50 MPH OR LESS UP HILLS. THIS IS A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS WHEN OTHER CARS ARE EASILY GOING 70 - 75 MPH. IF YOU PULL OFF THE ROAD, THE CARS HAVE A TENDENCY TO LURCH FORWARD AND WITH DANGEROUSLY POOR ACCELERATION. FROM READING THE CAR FORUMS, THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, WHERE THE CVT TRANSMISSION APPARENTLY OVER-HEATS AND PUTS THE CAR INTO "LIMP" MODE. THE FIX HAS BEEN TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS AND INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL TRANSMISSION COOLER, HOWEVER MANY DEALERS TRY TO CHARGE THE CUSTOMER FOR THE COOLER, AND THE NISSAN FACTORY IS NOW HESITANT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS EVEN THOUGH THEIR LONGEVITY AND RELIABILITY HAS UNDOUBTEDLY BEEN COMPROMISED IF THE OVER-HEATING PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED. THERE SHOULD BE A MANDATORY RECALL DEMANDED BY THE NTSB BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OR INJURED DUE TO THIS LACK OF ACCELERATION. THIS REPEATED OVER A SERIES OF INCLINES FOR THE NEXT 50 MILES AND NEARLY RESULTED IN SEVERAL REAR END ACCIDENTS. DURING THESE INCIDENTS,THE VEHICLE BOTH LOST POWER AND THE CRUISE CONTROL UNEXPECTEDLY SHUT OFF. LOCAL NISSAN DEALER CONFIRMED IT WAS DUE TO A KNOWN HEAT ISSUE WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS, AND AN ADVISORY WAS OUT TO INSPECT AND ADVISE WHEN REPORTED. NISSAN INSTRUCTED AN ADDITIONAL COOLING APPLIANCE BE ADDED TO KEEP THE FLUID COOL SO OPERATION WAS NORMAL. ISSUE IS THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BASED ON ASSUMPTION THAT ANY VEHICLE WILL DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND EVENTUALLY HAVE TO ENCOUNTER RELATIVLY EASY UPGRADES ON OUR HIGHWAYS. TRANSMISSION FAILURE UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES IS INEVITABLE, AND SO WILL BE POTENTIALLY FATAL OR AT LEAST INJURY INDUCING INCIDENTS.

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS PERSONALLY HAPPENED TO ME IN THIS VEHICLE AND I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT IT SO IT DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE.

NONE OF THESE OPTIONS ARE EXACTLY GREAT FOR ME. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNFAIR TO CONSUMERS & SEEMS MORE LIKE A WAY FOR NISSAN DEALERSHIPS TO INCREASE PROFITS. I HOPE YOU MOVE QUICKLY ON THIS BEFORE INNOCENT LIVES ARE TAKEN BY A KNOWN FAULTY AIRBAG SENSOR. NOT TO MENTION, I ONLY HAVE 30 DAYS TO EITHER PAY THE $2000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR TO JUNK MY CAR WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY PENALTIES! I WAS DRIVING ON I-5 FROM LOS ANGELES TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 55MIN WHEN MY VEHICLE RPM'S STARTED TO INCREASE AND MY MPH'S STARTED TO DECREASE. I TRIED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN TO ACCELERATE BUT JUST THE RPM'S WOULD REV UP AND CAR KEPT LOSING SPEED. I HAD TO PULL OVER VARIOUS TIMES AND LET THE CAR SIT WHILE OFF FOR ABOUT 20-25 MIN BEFORE I COULD DRIVE SAFELY AGAIN. THIS ONLY LASTED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AT THE MOST BEFORE I WOULD HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN AND HAVE TO PULL OVER TO LET THE CAR SIT FOR A WHILE. ALSO I CHECKED ALL FLUIDS WHEN I PULLED OVER AND EVERYTHING WAS AT OPTIMAL LEVEL AS REQUIRED. THE CAR WAS NOT OVER HEATING EITHER. *TR
