TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP THERE WAS A BRIEF DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOUR TIMES. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED TWICE. ADDITIONALLY, ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
WHILE COMING OFF AN INTERSECTION THE 2008 ROGUE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSETION. PRESSING THE GAS WOULD SLOW THE CAR MORE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. EVENTUALLY AFTER PUMPING THE GAS THE CAR WOULD MOVE AGAIN. I HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT THE CAR AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND SAID IT WAS JUST TOO HOT OUTSIDE CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO RUN HOT. I LIVE IN AZ AND IT IS ALWAYS HOT OUT HERE. THE SAME INCIDENT HAPPENED 2 TIMES AFTER I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. *TT
2008 NISSAN ROGUE LOSES ACCELERATION UNEXPECTEDLY, PLACING THE DRIVER IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. WHEN DRIVING UP HILL, AFTER LOSING ACCELERATION WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC FOLLOWING, WHERE OTHER VEHICLES HAVE TO SLAM ON BRAKES OR DANGEROUSLY SWERVE TO GET OF THE WAY OF OUR NISSAN WHICH IS BARELY MOVING FORWARD. SEVERAL SEMIS HAVE HAD TO MAKE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MANEUVERS IN ORDER NOT TO REAR-END OUR NISSAN. FIRST TRANSMISSION REPLACED WITH 66284 MILES - NOW SECOND TRANSMISSION IS DOING THE SAME THING AT 126000 MILES. VERY UNSAFE! HAVE READ OF MANY OTHER SIMILAR SITUATIONS WITH NISSAN ROGUE CVT TRANSMISSIONS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY FLASHING. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000. UPDATED 08/17/16*LJ THE CONSUMER WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $ 1800. ALSO, THE TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE NEVER WORKED PROPERLY. WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, FOR THE PROBLEM, THEY WOULD SIMPLY OVERFILL THE TIRES, UNTIL THE FLASHING SENSOR WOULD GO OUT. HE ALSO NOTICED SUDDEN DECELERATION OR NO ACCELERATION AT ALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AFTER LOCATING NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAGS) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN FOR THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL WAS THE EXACT SAME FAILURE EXPERIENCED IN THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,974 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

VEHICLE HAS SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER DUE TO OVERHEATING OF TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO INTO A LIMP MODE REDUCING SPEED TO APPROXIMATELY 40-50 MPH. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR 2 OR MORE HOURS. ONCE COMING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL...COMPLETELY POWERLESS. HAVE HAD TO A NISSAN DEALER 4 TIMES RECEIVING NOTHING MORE THAN A BAND-AID TEMPORARY REPAIR BY DRAINING SOME OF THE TRANS FLUID RATHER THAN INSTALLING A BETTER TRANSMISSION COOLING SYSTEM. NISSAN HAS KNOW ABOUT HUNDREDS OF CASES OVER THE COURSE OF 7 YEARS AND TO DATE HAS NO CREDIBLE REPAIR, THUS TOTALLY IGNORING CONSUMERS SAFETY. I HAD A COMPLETE TIRE BLOWOUT/FAILURE YESTERDAY APRIL 8, 2011. TIRES ARE YOKOHAMA PARADA 225/65R17... DOT# FDF5N4Y4409 TIRE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY 75 JUST NORTH OF TULSA, OK. SIDEWALLS OF TIRE JUST BLEW OUT... COMPLETE SEPARATION. AAA RESPONDER SAID THAT HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT ON A PASSENGER VEHICLE... ONLY ON TRUCK TIRES. FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK STOPPED WORKING, VEHICLE ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. SAFETY CONCERN, EXPENSIVE REPAIRS UNWARRANTED, THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY A RECALL. NUMEROUS NISSAN OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN THREE WEEKS THIS HAS HAPPENED. WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE SHUT OFF DUE TO RUNNING OUT OF GAS. THE PROBLEM BEING THAT THE GAS GAUGE SAID I HAD OVER 1/4 TANK OF GAS LEFT. I HAD CALLED THE DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT COULD BE WRONG AND I WAS TOLD IT MAY BE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT OR THE ACTUAL GAS GAUGE THAT'S FAULTY. I'VE READ THAT OTHER INDIVIDUALS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE NISSAN ROGUE'S GAS GAUGE.
EVERY TIME I GO TO FILL UP MY TANK, THE GAS GAUGE BARS NEVER REACH THE FULL TANK INDICATOR. IT ALWAYS SHOW THAT MY TANK IS 80% - 90% FULL. I ALWAYS WAIT UNTIL THE LOW GAS LIGHT COMES ON BEFORE I FILL UP, BUT BECAUSE THE GAUGE IS INACCURATE, I HAVE TO FILL UP MORE OFTEN FOR FEAR OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS AT NIGHT WITH MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR. *TR
RECENTLY I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I FILL UP MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE THAT THE GAS GAUGE DOES NOT READ FULL. CONTACTING 2 DEALERS I WAS TOLD THERE IS NO ISSUE THEY KNOW OF. UPON CHECKING ON THE INTERNET I FIND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS, IN ALL YEAR ROGUES, AND A COUPLE OTHER NISSAN MODELS. NISSAN HAS TO KNOW ABOUT IT. SOME SAY THEIRS STAY 1/4 OF A TANK DOWN, WHILE THE MAJORITY SAY AN 1/8 OF A TANK. THIS FALSE READING COULD RESULT IN PEOPLE BEING STRANDED IN DESOLATE PLACES, THEREBY THREATENING ONES HEALTH; OR AN ENTIRE FAMILY'S HEALTH, I KNOW A GENTLEMAN WHO BOUGHT A 2011, HAS LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON IT, AND HIS ALREADY HAS THE SAME ISSUE. COLD DAY IN NYC. THE 2008 NISSAN ROGUE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILS TO OPEN. AT FIRST I USED THE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. THEN I TRIED TO USE THE KEY AND IT WILL STILL NOT OPEN. I HAD TO GO AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GET INTO THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY AT NIGHTS AND DIMLIT AREAS. I HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY CHARGED ME $250 TO FIX PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THIS NEW MODEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER WARRANTY. THE ACCELERATION IS VERY DELAYED FROM PRESSING ON THE GAS. SOMETIMES WE HAVE HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION TO GET IT TO RESPOND. IT HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY 2 TO 3 DAYS AND WILL LAST THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE. IT IS STILL DRIVABLE, BUT IS VERY DANGEROUS. ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. WE HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIME ALREADY. THE FIRST TWO THEY COULD NOT FIX IT, THE THIRD THEY THOUGHT THEY FOUND AND FIXED THE PROBLEM, BUT 4 DAYS AFTER THAT IT STARTED TO HAPPEN AGAIN, TODAY I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND ALMOST GOT HIT BY A CAR SINCE THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE. *TR

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT UNLESS THEY HAD FULL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE RECORDS, THEY COULD OFFER NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND PROCEEDED ABOUT 5 MPH TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL UNTIL THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A SHORTAGE IN THE CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY IN THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO DAYS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE IGNITION WOULD START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS WERE ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
THIS INVOLVES A NISSAN ROGUE S 2008 WE PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALER. AT APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES WHILE ON A TRIP TO DESTIN, FL OUR CVT TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION ON THE HIGHWAY. IT CAUSED CAR TO LOSE SPEED, NO LONGER PULL, IDLE ERRATICALLY, AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET UP TO SPEEDS OVER 55 MILES AN HOUR. IT WOULD ALSO NOT PULL OFF FROM STOPS BUT RATHER JUST COAST OUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, LEAVING THE DRIVER WITHOUT CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WE WERE INSTRUCTED BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO LIMP THE CAR BACK TO ATLANTA SO THEY COULD REPLACE THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND STATED THEY KNEW IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THOSE PARTICULAR CVT'S. ONCE WE GOT THE CAR BACK, NISSAN EXPLAINED THAT THEY HAD INSTALLED A NEWER MODEL OF CVT IN OUR CAR AND THAT IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. NOW, JUNE 23, 2012, OUR CAR IS BACK AT THE DEALER WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR NOW HAS 102,00 MILES. THIS TIME WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE WHEN THE CVT BEGINS TO ACT UP. SYMPTOMS INCLUDED LOSS OF POWER, LOSS OF SPEED AND IDLE LEAVING US UNABLE TO SWITCH LANES AND GET OFF HIGHWAY DUE TO LACK OF PULL AND POWER. THE CARS IDLE OR RPM BEGINS TO JUMP ERRATICALLY AND REDLINING CAUSING THE CAR TO LUNGE FORWARD UNCONTROLLABLY AND THEN LOSE POWER BACK AND FORTH. NOW IMAGINE THIS ALL WHILE YOUR WIFE AND THREE DAUGHTERS (AGES 9, 4, AND 9 MONTHS) ARE IN THE BACK SEAT. VIRTUALLY HAVING NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR WHILE OTHER VEHICLES SPEED BY AT 70 MPH TRYING TO AVOID SMASHING YOU TO PIECES. THIS TIME THERE IS NO LIMPING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. BARELY ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE CVT IS SEVERELY DAMAGED AND INOPERABLE. CVT FLUID IS DRAINING RAPIDLY OUT OF SEVERAL DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. AS WELL, THE ENTIRE BODY OF THE CAR IS COATED IN TRANS FLUID AND SMOKE BILLOWING OUT OF THE HOOD DUE TO THE FLUID COATING THE ENGINE TOO. *TR
I PURCHASED MY NISSAN ROGUE IN 2010. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING IT A RED WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE DASH INDICATING AN AIRBAG PROBLEM. A MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THAT DETERMINES IF SOMEONE IS SEATED THERE OR NOT. I WAS UNABLE TO AFFORD A NEW SENSOR. I CHECKED NHTSA RECALLS AND LOCATED RECALL# 08V521000. WHILE THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE PROBLEM MY NISSAN ROGUE IS EXPERIENCING, PER MY VIN, MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING ~65MPH ON THE INTERSTATE IN STEADY TRAFFIC ON DRY ASPHALT, THE PASSENGER-SIDE REAR DOOR WINDOW "EXPLODED." THE PASSENGER SEATS WERE IN THE DOWN (FLAT) POSITION; MOST OF THE GLASS FELL IN TO THE CAR, BUT ENOUGH BLEW OUT OF THE CAR TO EMBED IN/SCRATCH THE EXTERIOR PAINT. NISSAN DEALER IN THE AREA OF OUR TRAVEL VACUUMED THE GLASS OUT OF THE CAR AND LOOSELY COVERED THE WINDOW SPACE WITH MASKING TAPE AND PLASTIC SEAT COVERS (THE KIND USED TO COVER THE SEAT FOR TRANSPORT AND/OR GARAGE WORK). SINCE THIS WAS A ROAD TRIP SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES FROM HOME, WE HAD TO REINFORCE THE PLASTIC COVER JOB WITH HEAVY CARDBOARD, ADDITIONAL PLASTIC, AND TAPE SO WE COULD DRIVE THE INTERSTATE AND PROTECT THE CAR FROM FURTHER DAMAGE, WIND, AND RAIN. I CONTACTED MY HOME DEALERSHIP TO ADVISE OF THE INCIDENT AND REQUEST THAT PARTS BE ORDERED TO MAKE REPAIR ASAP AFTER I RETURNED HOME AND TO FIND OUT IF INCIDENT IS COVERED BY FACTORY WARRANTY. REPAIR IS DELAYED BY HOLIDAY WEEKEND; WARRANTY COVERAGE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. LUCKILY, WE HAD NO BACK SEAT PASSENGERS. *TR
ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCKS ON MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE HAVE FAILED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS RENDERING THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING MECHANISM INOPERABLE. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO SERVICE MY VEHICLE WITHOUT EXORBITANT REPAIR FEES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. HAVING A SECURE ENVIRONMENT IS PARAMOUNT IN CERTAIN NEIGHBORHOODS. WHEN LOCKING THE DOORS IT'S IMPERATIVE NOBODY CAN GAIN ACCESS AT WILL BY WALKING UP TO THE CAR. IF ANYONE CAN SIMPLY OPEN THE DOOR TO GAIN ACCESS, CARJACKING, INJURY, OR EVEN MURDER IS EASIER. IF THE DOORS LOCKED PROPERLY THIS PROVIDES A MORE SECURE ENVIRONMENT. 2. NISSAN KNOWING THERE IS A SECURITY PROBLEM WITH THEIR LOCKING MECHANISM AND NOT RECALLING THEM FOR SAFETY CONCERN IS NEGLIGENT. IT'S AN OPEN DOOR TO A LAWSUIT IF SOMEONE WERE TO BE MURDERED DUE TO A DOOR THAT DIDN'T LOCK, ALTHOUGH THE DRIVER PUSHED THE LOCK BUTTON AND HEARD THE LOCKING NOISE. REMEMBER, IN THIS CASE THERE'S NO OBVIOUS INDICATION THE DOOR ISN'T LOCKED UNLESS SOMEONE WALKS UP AND OPENS IT FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE DRIVE "THINKS" THE DOOR IS LOCKED, WHEN IN REALITY IT'S AN "OPEN DOOR" FOR CARJACKING OR ROBBERY. THIS FAILURE IS AN INTERMITTENT OF OPERATION. SOMETIMES THE DOORS LOCK OK, OTHER TIMES THEY DON'T. IN ADDITION, SOMETIMES THE DOORS UNLOCK OK, OTHER TIMES THEY DON'T. 3. IN EMERGENCIES IT'S IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO UNLOCK DOORS QUICKLY. SINCE 99% OF THE TIME WE ALL USE THE BUTTON TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS, USING THE MANUAL LOCKING LEVER IS UNFAMILIAR. IN EMERGENCIES EVERY SECOND COUNTS. THE LOCKING/UNLOCKING SOLENOID MALFUNCTIONING IS CLEARLY A HIGH RISK IN EMERGENCY SCENARIOS. SOME PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE $1600 TO HAVE ALL THE SOLENOIDS REPLACED (AS QUOTED BY DEALER). THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN NOTED BY OVER 300 CONSUMERS, OWNERS OF THE NISSAN ROGUE, MURANO, MAXIMA, AND OTHERS. I OWN A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE THAT HAS HAD ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT. WHEN I FIRST EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM, NISSAN DID NOT EVEN KNOW/ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS AN ISSUE. WHEN TRAVELING DURING THE SUMMER ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS (70-80 MPH) I WOULD RANDOMLY LOSE POWER TO THE VEHICLE. IN SOME CASES, I WOULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONLY ABLE TO GO ABOUT 25 MPH. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, FOR EXAMPLE WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND WAITING AT A LIGHT, THE CAR IS VERY SLOW TO RESPOND TO START MOVING AGAIN. AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, NISSAN FINALLY BEGAN TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS AN SYSTEM ISSUE (NOT AFTER MAKING ME SPEND $400+ FOR A TRANSMISSION FLUSH). THEY SAID THAT THE COMBINATION OF ELEVATION, HEAT AND HIGH SPEEDS WAS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO OVERHEAT AND GO INTO "FAIL SAFE" MODE. FINALLY LAST SUMMER (JULY 2012) NISSAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN THE VEHICLE. NOW, ONE YEAR LATER AND ONLY 20,000 MILES ON THE NEW TRANSMISSION, I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. MOST BOTHERSOME, HOWEVER WAS THE LAST FEW TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED, IT WAS NOT HOT AND I WAS NOT DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS. AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING ABOUT 82 MPH WITH 65 DEGREE WEATHER, I LOST ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC THAT WAS MOVING AT LEAST 70 MPH AND I WAS ONLY ABLE TO MOVE AT 40 MPH. NISSAN HAS SAID THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE CONTINUED ISSUE, BUT BECAUSE THE CVT IS TECHNICALLY PERFORMING AS IT SHOULD, THEY WILL NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID THEY ARE DEVELOPING A COOLANT, BUT IS THIS A REAL SOLUTION? BOTTOM LINE, THIS IS NOT A SAFE, RELIABLE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD IN 2008. I BEGAN HEARING A NOISE EMANATING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 6000 MILES. THE NOISE OCCURS CONSISTENTLY WHEN DECELERATING FROM ABOUT 40 MPH TO 5 MPH. AS THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO DECELERATE, THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE A RATTLING AGAINST METAL. THE NOISE CHANGES TO A GRINDING SOUND LIKE METAL RUBBING AGAINST METAL AS THE VEHICLE LOSES SPEED. THE GRINDING SOUND APPEARS MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN AT A SLOW SPEED, SUCH AS WHEN TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT. SERVICE MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGES THE NOISE BUT HAS NO EXPLANATION FOR IT AND SAY NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAS A FIX FOR IT, SO I TOOK IT IN FOR THE FACTORY FIX AND HAVE NOTICED THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. I BELIEVE THE NOISE COMES FROM THE CVT TRANSMISSION, AND IT IS PROBABLY CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE CVT BELT OR THE CVT BELT SLIPPING ON THE VARIABLE PULLEYS. EITHER CAUSE COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE CVT BELT AND RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE AND TOTAL LOSS OF RESPONSE TO DRIVER ACCELERATOR INPUT. WHEN GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THE END OF THE EXIT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. 5 SECONDS LATER THE CAR THRUSTED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS POWER KICKED BACK IN. AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO NISSAN AND TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AT AROUND 60,000 MILES. CARE WAS GOOD FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS BUT STARTED HAVING SAME ISSUE. HAVE HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 10 - 12 TIMES WITH SAME ISSUE AND TO THIS DAY IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THEY USUALLY STATE THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. TEST DROVE THE CAR WITH THEIR TOP MECHANIC AND GOT THE ACCELERATION ISSUE TO HAPPEN. THEY MECHANIC SAID NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HE DRAINED FLUIDS SAYING THE LEVEL WAS TO HIGH. 6 MONTHS LATER SAME ISSUES AGAIN. THE DOOR ACTUATORS FOR THIS VEHICLE HAVE FAILED REPEATEDLY. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR TWICE, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR ONCE, AND NOW THE REAR DOORS ARE FAILING. ON THE EARLY MORNING OF 12/31/09, THE CAR I WAS DRIVING IS A NISSAN ROGUE 2008.I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM BRADDOCK RD TO DANBURY FOREST DR, I LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. IT KEPT GOING AROUND AND FORTUNATELY, THE CARS COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD WERE ABLE TO USE THEIR BRAKES AND AVOID A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. ON FRIDAY EARLY MORNING, THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE SHEEHY NISSAN DEALER WHICH IS LOCATED AT 6727 LOISDALE RD. SPRINGFIELD, VA. 22150. ON SATURDAY MORNING, I WENT TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. LATER ON OF THE SAME DAY, THE MECHANIC CALLED TO INFORMED THAT A PART OF THE STEERING WAS BROKEN AND THEY WILL BE ORDERING AND FIX IT BY WEDNESDAY. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CAR. I AM STILL NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SO I LEFT IT THERE AND CALL CUSTOMER AFFAIRS. FINALLY AFTER 4 DAYS, THEY RETURNED MY CALL. THEY INDICATED THAT THEY SPOKE TO THE SHOP AND ARE NOT AUTHORIZING ANY REPAIRS OR PAYING FOR THE RENTAL VEHICLE AS THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND ARE SAYING THAT MY 125 LB WIFE MAY BE TOO LIGHT TO ACTIVATE THE BAG SENSOR. *TR

IT IS SO SCARY TO BE GOING ALONG AT 65 MPH IN 5 LANES OF BUMPER TRAFFIC AND LOOSE POWER. NOW I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT I COULD NOT EVEN TRUST TO DRIVE MY KID BACK TO COLLEGE THIS YEAR. THE CURRENT AIRBAG FAULT IS THE EXACT SAME AS THE LATE MODEL ROGUE SEAT CUSHION SWITCH FAULT RECALL, BUT OUR MODEL VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WE WERE STONE WALLED AT CAR PRO'S BURIEN NISSAN IN WASHINGTON STATE. THEY WERE HAPPY TO OFFER A $2000 FIX EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENED AFTER ONLY 8K MILES. WE WERE APPALLED AT THEIR CALLOUS DISREGARD FOR OUR SAFETY ESPECIALLY SINCE WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. IT WAS A LITTLE WHILE BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO ABLE TO GET IT INTO THE DEALER DUE TO HEAVY BUSINESS TRAVEL AT THE TIME. BASICALLY WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND A CAR WITHOUT FUNCTIONING AIRBAGS FOR YEARS NOW WHILE WAITING FOR THE RECALL TO EXTEND TO OUR VEHICLE!
WHEN I GO TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK I WILL LET IT RUN UNTIL IT STOPS AT THE PUMP THEN PUMP IN A LITTLE MORE TO GET IT TO AN EVEN DOLLAR AMOUNT, I WILL THEN GET IN THE CAR AND THE GAS GAUGE DOES NOT SHOW FULL. FOR SOME REASON THE FIRST "TICK" ON THE GAS GAUGE WILL NEVER COME ON NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS YOU PUT IN THE CAR. AS FOR THE WHETHER OR NOT THE REST OF IT IS ACCURATE I AM NOT QUITE SURE. I TRY TO KEEP A DECENT AMOUNT OF GAS IN THE TANK BECAUSE I QUESTION ITS ACCURACY. *TR
