NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2010 Nissan Rogue. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Upon my husband going to start the vehicle in the morning, he smelled an electrical fire. The door was locked which was odd so he attempted to use the key fob to unlock and it did not work. He went around to the passenger side door and it opened. To his surprise the interior of the vehicle smelled very strongly of smoke and the windows were black. He was able to get the drivers side door open to realize that the left side of the dash was completely melted along with the fuse box, hood latch, the door, the floor mat, the carpet, the headliner and everything on that side was burned/melted. The heat from the fire shattered the windshield. The vehicle was driven the day prior with no inclination of any problems and was parked in the driveway for the night. A phone call was made to Nissan and a case number was provided.
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was started and running, her husband sat in the driver's side seat and wiped the center console, and without warning, the driver’s and passenger’s side curtain air bags inadvertently deployed. The contact mentioned all the doors of the vehicle were closed during the incident. The driver sustained ear and emotional injuries. Medical attention was not needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.
While parked and waiting for drive-thru service, my Nissan Rogue began to smoke and immediately turned into flames under the hood. There was no malfunction or problems before this incident. Approximately 15 minutes prior to the incident, the driver stopped and filled truck with gas. After driving from the gas station, the driver went approximately 10 miles for food, where the car began smoking, and flames coming from under the hood. There were no warning signs, messages or malfunctions prior to this incident. The car was running quietly and smoothly and had not encountered any problems prior to the incident.
I have a 2010 Nissan Rouge that is having powertrain issues, specifically the CVT, three times, after driving a long distance in very hot weather, and then going on a long uphill grade, the vehicle lost power. It dropped from 70 to about 40mph, this happened on two interstates along the same stretch and a third time on a California state highway. I did some research and found that this is a common problem with the Rogues powertrain's CVT over several years and there was also a class action lawsuit for some years of this Rogue, but not for a 2010. Nissan did pay for some repairs on other years to the lawsuit claimants.

I was driving the vehicle and stopped at a Sonic drive thru. I shifted the car into park and I began to hear a very loud creaking noise. When I shifted the car into drive, the car wouldn’t move. I called a Firestone mechanic and he concluded that it was the CV belt that is connected to the transmission. Regardless, only a transmission shop could handle this issue. I called CARMAX AUTO, and spoke with a JASON HEWITT. Mr Hewitt informed me that CarMax will have a tow truck come get the car. The following day, the car was towed by CarMax to Amaco for an official diagnostic. I was notified the following day that my vehicle had a damaged axle and appears to have been cause by a “car accident.” Mr Hewitt told me to file a claim in my insurance. I told Mr Hewitt that most likely the tow company damaged my axle. He stated he didnt know what exactly caused it but they will not be able to address the transmission issue until this axle and converter is paid for. Additionally, I’ve had the car for 14 months and 6 months into my lease agreement, the check engine light came and stayed on due the catalytic converter. The air and heat stopped working in September of 2023.
Vehicle Failed emissions portion of the state state inspection (emission) test.

Subject: Urgent Mediation Request: Vehicle Purchase Issue Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding my recent vehicle purchase experience at K&O Auto Wholesale Inc, located at 8664 Phillips Highway, Jacksonville, FL 32256. On August 21st, at 5:22 pm, I purchased a vehicle from K & O Auto, having been assured by the salesperson Martin that the vehicle was in impeccable condition. This assertion was accompanied by the claim that the vehicle had recently arrived and undergone a thorough inspection. Initially, the test drive went smoothly, with no dashboard warnings detected. Consequently, I made the purchase for $6,400. However, my drive back to base revealed a slight exhaust noise and odor, though these issues seemed to dissipate momentarily. The following day, the engine light came on, accompanied by a strong exhaust odor. I promptly contacted your dealership, and I was instructed to bring the vehicle in after work for assessment and scheduling of a mechanic's appointment. This conversation was documented for reference. Upon arriving at the dealership, I was met with a starkly different response from Martin, the dealer. He abruptly informed me that the vehicle was sold "as is" and suggested buying a flush from Walmart or Autozone to remedy the issue. This abrupt about-face left me stunned, especially considering the initial assurances provided. It appears that the dealership may have misrepresented the vehicle's condition, manipulated the check engine light, and provided a misleading diagnosis. In light of these circumstances, I urgently seek mediation to swiftly resolve this matter. Given the transaction's integrity and the ethical considerations surrounding dealership practices, an equitable and timely resolution is crucial. I eagerly await your response. Thank you for your prompt attention. Sincerely,
The transmission/power train on this vehicle is experiencing common failures as reported by many owners. On my way to work, my Nissan Rogue began to stall and lose speed while on the highway. The speed decreased from 70 mph down to 50 mph. Approximately 5 minutes way from work, my vehicle barely accelerated through 4 way stop while making left turn which posed a high risk with on coming traffic headed in my direction I had my vehicle inspected by my ASE certified mechanic and was informed that my Rogue prompted transmission failure code. He (Dale Baca, Alternative Auto Care in Thornton, CO) also informed me that this was a recurring issue with my Nissan Rogue as well as other Nissans with the CVT transmission. No indication of failure or warning lamps was given on my dashboard on the day of July 28th, 2023.
The passenger air bag light does not go off. Both from the dash and the airbag light behind the shifter.
I live in Colorado and on one than more occasion I have been driving at elevation (crossing a mountain pass) and the vehicle loses any power to the gas - the pedal is literally on the floor but car loses speed. The last time this happened (this past May), I was trying to climb one of the passes, and my car would not go faster than 35mph, in an area with a minimum 60mph speed limit. I had to move into the shoulder so semi trucks could pass me. I can't believe this hasn't been a recall issue - if you Google this problem, you will find many Nissan owners (particularly early Rogue models) complaining of this exact issue. It is incredibly dangerous and if this is a mechanism of the vehicle (a heat or elevation issue), it should never have been sold in mountain or desert regions. Regardless, Nissan should be fixing this problem at no charge to the customer.
Vehicle was involved in crash on 4/11/2023. the vehicle left the right side of the road, driver overcorrected and lost control of vehicle and vehicle flipped 3 times before ending up on the roof, slid into an embankment on opposite side of the road which sent it airborne back into the highway. the vehicle is a complete loss, damage all the way around the car, all glass except drivers side window was busted out, front end was 60 yards down the road, motor mounts broke and motor moved, wheels broken, doors were moved and crushed in spots, roof and frame bent, etc. Driver lived thankfully. The major problem is that all the airbags deployed (curtain bags all the way around, both seat airbags) EXCEPT the steering wheel airbag and the passenger dash air bag. These are the 2 major airbags that should have deployed ina collision like this. I want Nissan to investigate why these did not employ.
Safety put at risk due to horn not being able to work and the primary reason for this complaint is the engine. The car stopped accelerating, which was resolved, but then the car would no longer go in reverse!!! It is unknown why this has happened. We suspected the CVT prior to even learning of the CVT class action lawsuit. Please advise! Thank you for your time and consideration!
My transmission let go
NHTSA & Nissan Consumer Affairs, My financed 2010 NISSAN ROGUE S/SL/KROM passenger side airbags as well as front passenger side seat released. Strange thing: No car accident or major hit or impact for this to cause a release of airbag.
While driving the vehicle at average highway speeds for over one hour approximately, the CVT transmission fluid overheats, and an engine code PO744 is set. This code is followed by reduction in engine power and speed limited to a safe mode of 25 mph. The danger of being rear-ended while attempting to safely exit the freeways here in California is high. This has happened multiple times on different roadways, uphill, downhill, and through the desert Nissan has many technical service bulletins, but no recalls. A CVT for this 2010 is $4000 or more, later models received a CVT fluid cooler, this year it's almost $1400 to install with no hopes the CVT will hold up.
The airbag light is flashing and my husband has tried the solution that was told would stop it. Did not work. Had the car put on a scanner and the results were the passenger seat airbag has a defective part. Dealership wants over 2000.00 to fix problem. It was a recall for the problem but doesn't include the year 2010. I don't have money to have this fixed. Safety issues don't have airbag on passenger side...
The Nissan Rogue is my 16 year old sons car. He was on a main road with his younger sister and a friend when he slowed down to turn a corner and as he pushed gas the car began to jerk violently then there was a bang and a click noise the car stayed running but was unable to accelerate he tried putting it in park and it started rolling away… 4 other bystanders had to help push the vehicle out of the way so a total of 7 people were pushing car off main road into a parking lot. Had someone look at it in that parking lot. It is something to do with the CVT transmission. Had to have it towed to my home to see if it can be repaired. Or if I wasted my money. Either way definitely have to get rid of it due to the danger. There was 3 teens in this car and they could have been seriously injured in this car when it broke down on a major street or when they were pushing it into a parking lot. By the grace of god my kids and their friend are safe. After this I would never buy another Nissan for the fact that I was terrified that they could’ve been seriously injured for a CVT transmission that has had numerous complaints and issues. It is definitely not safe for anyone, let alone a new teenage driver My son also told me that 2 weeks ago he was at a stop sign tried to accelerate when car would not move then it started jerking forward and finally drove normal. After that it could not be replicated until yesterday when it had incident on main road.
I was driving along at 50 mh and all the sudden drops down to 30 mp and even thought I push peddle to floor it won't go above 40 mh and starts trying to cut off this has happened a few times to me as well as my mom who drove my car. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed ..
C/S Air Bag Light illuminated on dash. took it to Nissan, they informed me that Vehicle clock Spring internal failure, and it will cost m $617.89 to replace clock spring and reset DTC and realigned steering angle sensor.
Airbag clock spring failure in steering column.
The airbag light on the dash started flashing indication something has a malfunction and the light showing passenger airbag is off. The vehicle was taken to Larry Miller Nissan for a $176 diagnostic. They related the passenger sensor for the airbag had failed in the seat cushion and the airbag would not deploy in an accident to protect the passenger. They said $2,526.69 is the cost to fix the problem. This is obviously a safety issue and should be corrected by the manufacturer. This started approximately 10 days ago. The vehicle was taken in on the earliest date available. Is the manufacturer responsible for making sure the airbags function properly in the event of an accident? Thank you
2010 Nissan Rogue SW pre-owned certified on 2/24/2012; Mileage: 13,403. Purchased SECURITY+PLUS service Warranty. The summer of 2014 Rogue started a whining noise going up hills or under a light load. There was no other indication from the vehicle that it was under distress, no warning lights appeared etc. Dealership mechanic test drove and confirmed the CVT was failing. 6/13/2014; Mileage 44228 per Warranty, installed: "1-Transaxle Assy; 1-Trans Exchange Expense; 5- NS-2 CVT TRANMI; 1Tranmission CO; 1 Cooler Kit-AUTO." "Certified concern, per Tech Line replaced CVT Transmission Assembly, Programmed TCM, Installed Transmission cooler, operates per design." The CVT was flushed and cleaned on 6/06/2018 at 78,882 by same dealership. Miles since new CVT was replaced 44228 - 78882 = 34654 June 24, 2021 upon returning from a trip the car was not shifting properly. At starting of an intersection the VOC light flashes and came on, and the car hardly would go across the intersection with the gas pedal pushed to floor. There were times gear shifting would rev and not shift smoothly. It was dangerous doing only 55mph in a 75 mph on I-10 returning. On July 22, 2021; Mileage 92762; took to dealership for digonostic; they reported: "caused by check codes and A/B counts no code present. Transmission has B counts recommend transmission replacement." "CVT Assembly $4890; front lower control arms if done at time of CVT $650 & drive belt $180.". And, of course, they informed me that the Warranty expired 1 year to the month. However,it is my understanding that 2010 Rogue were given an extended 10 year warranty/150k. My Warrenty book indicates differently. I believe Nissan's Warranty on my specific vehicle is misleading and needs reviewed. And may be considered fraudelant. A 2010 Nissan Rogue has less than 94,000 miles 1 CVT replaced prematurely now requiring another new CVT transmission replaced. North America Nissan denied asst beyond warranty
The passenger side airbag light never goes off no matter who is sitting in the seat I think the weight sensor in the seat is broken. I just noticed that the light wasn't off when I had an adult in the passenger seat one day and still is the same. The light is sopost to go off if someone is in the seat. The light has been like this for over a year now.
ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE SHIFTING FROM 5TH TO 6TH GEAR WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION
AT 74,000 MILES, MY 2010 NISSAN ROGUE PASSENGER AIRBAG AUTOMATICALLY DISABLED AND THE AIRBAG SYMBOL CONTINUOUSLY BLINKS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT. THE DEFECT APPEARED AFTER CRANKING THE VEHICLE AND RUNNING AT IDLE, WHILE IN PARK.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND NOW FLASHES. I TOOK IT TO MY SON, A MECHANIC WITH RICK MATTHEWS BUICK GMC AND THE CODES CAME UP AS EITHER A SEAT SENSOR MATT OR OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION...THE SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND I CALLED A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BO OVER $2,000.00. MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK NOW.
WHEN PARKING AT FRIENDS HOUSE WITH STEEP SLOPPING YARD COULD NOT GET CAR STOPPED PRIOR TO HITTING TREE STUMP. IMPACT WAS FRONT BUMPER RIGHT OF CENTER. AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED BUT FAIL TO KEEP PASSENGER FROM HITTING AND CUTTING TOP OF HEAD ON SUN VISOR AND WIND SHIELD RESULTING IN 25 STAPLES TO TOP OF HEAD. WHEN BAG DEPLOYED IT NEVER WENT HIGHER THAN WHERE IT CAME OUT OF DASH THEN INSTANTLY FELL TOWARDS FLOOR. DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING DRIVERS CHEST TO STRIKE STEERING WHEEL, ONLY SORE CHEST RESULTED. CONCERNS ARE PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING PROPERLY AND DRIVERS AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING AT ALL.*DT*DT*DT*JB*JB*JB
I ACQUIRED A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD, WITH LOW MILEAGE, IN OCTOBER 2019. IN EARLY OCTOBER 2020 ABOUT 20 MILES OUTSIDE OF WASHINGTON, DC TRAVELING FROM NC THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. OF COURSE THIS UNNERVED ME. I STOPPED TWICE TO VISUALLY AND MANUALLY CHECK THE TIRE AIR PRESSURE USING A PRESSURE GAUGE. NO PROBLEM WITH THE PRESSURE. ONCE IN DC I WENT TO A SERVICE STATION/MECHANIC SHOP IN MARYLAND AND HAD THE MECHANIC CHECK THE PROBLEM. HE CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND FILLED ALL TIRES WITH AN ADDITIONAL 5 POUNDS OF AIR (FROM 35 TO 40) AND STATED THAT THE WOBBLING WOULD LIKELY NOT CAUSE ANY SERIOUS PROBLEM BUT THE ADDITIONAL AIR SHOULD CURED. THE ADDED AIR SEEMED TO HAVE WORKED. WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS I WAS BACK ON THE HIGHWAY HEADED SOUTH. I REALIZED THE PROBLEM HAD NOT GONE AWAY. I DETERMINED THAT AT LOW CITY SPEEDS THE PROBLEM DID NOT PRESENT ITSELF. THE PROBLEM SURFACES WHEN AT HIGHER HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MOSTLY WHEN THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED. SINCE BEING BACK IN CONCORD, NC I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE PLACE ON A LIFT, AT A NON-DEALER SHOP, AND CHECKED. THE MECHANIC DROVE MY VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FIND ANY OTHER ISSUES. HE SUGGESTED THAT I PURCHASE FOUR NEW TIRES, CITING THAT ALTHOUGH THERE IS STILL SUFFICIENT TREAD THE TIRES MAY HAVE AN INTERNAL ISSUE. I SPOKE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO SUGGESTED THAT A 'TIE ROD' MAY BE THE PROBLEM. ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2020 I HAD PLANS TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES. AFTER SEEING THE WSOC NEWS OF SIMILAR EXPERIENCES OF OTHERS, I WILL FIRST TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR EVALUATION AND DOCUMENTATION. AT THIS TIME I DON'T HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT.
I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A BACKROAD HIGHWAY & NOTICED THE DRIVER HEADLIGHT OUT SO I STARTED USED MY BRIGHTS, THEN NOTICED SMOKE & FLAMES COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER CALLED 911 & TRIED POURING WATER ON IT MYSELF WHILE I WAIT. TOOK ABOUT 8 MINS FOR POLICE & MAYBE 12-15 FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE POLICE TRIED TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER WHICH DID NOT WORK, BY THE TIME FIRE DEPARTMENT GOT THERE THE WHOLE CAR WAS COMPLETELY UP IN FLAMES & BURNT TO THE GROUND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DRIVING AT 20 MPH AND EXITING THE ON RAMP, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE POLICE PULLED THE DRIVER OVER DUE TO THE VEHICLE REVERSING IN THE INTERSTATE WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE TO A LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V401000 (EQUIPMENT) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE THAT OCCURRED HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 179,000.
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. BROUGHT IT TO AN AUTO MECHANIC WHO RESET IT, RAN CODE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) CONTROL UNIT IN PASSENGER SEAT WAS THE CODE IT WAS THROWING. TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT SENDING THE RIGHT SIGNAL TO THE AIRBAG. TO FIX THE PROBLEM IT WOULD COST ME $2500.00 TO GET A BRAND NEW SEAT WITH THE OCS UNIT. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT STOP FLASHING AND RESETTING IT DOES NO GOOD. I NOW HAVE NO AIRBAG FOR PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THESE VEHICLES HAD RECALLS ON THIS SYSTEM FOR THE YEARS. I WAS TOLD THAT VEHICLES FROM 2008 TO 2016 WITH THESE SYTEMS WERE AFFECTED. VEHICLES WITH VIN NUMBERS JN8AS5.....I CHECKED FOR A RECALL ON MY 2010 NISSAN ROGUE AND FOUND NONE, YET I AM READING THAT THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS ON 2010. WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY HASN'T SOMEONE ADDRESSED THIS SAFETY ISSUE?? IT WILL COST ME $2500.00 TO FIX THIS AND IF I DO NOT FIX THIS MY CAR WILL BE WORTH CONSIDERABLY LESS. I STILL OWE $5,000.00!!! I AM THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED. THIS HAPPENED AT AROUND 105000 MILES. NO ACCIDENT OR LARGE BUMP, ALL ON ITS' OWN.
MY CAR IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE HAD CLOSE CALLS FOR BEING IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANYWHERE BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE AS THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2020 AND HAVE CHILDREN THAT ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME. I HAVE NEVER FEARED FOR OUR SAFETY IN ANY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED PREVIOUSLY. THE RPM'S ALSO GO HIGH AND SWITCHES GEARS ONLY WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS. THESE ARE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AS A SINGLE MOM I'M AT MY WHITT'S END AND NEED THIS PROBLEM FIXED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY.
I WAS DRIVING ON I70 FROM LAKEWOOD, CO TO NEW CASTLE, CO AND ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH THE DRIVE, NO MATER WHAT GEAR I WAS IN OR HOW HARD I PUSH THE GAS PEDDLE DOWN (FLOORED IT), MY CAR WOULD ONLY GO 35-40 MPH ON THE HILLS. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 65 AND IN SOME PLACES 75 AND IT IS VERY UNSAFE TO BE STUCK GOING ONLY 35-40 MILES AN HOUR.
WITH DAUGHTER DRIVING IN MOUNTAINS. AFTER APPX. 2 HOURS OF DRIVING THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE BEYOND 40MPH ON 65 MPH HIGHWAY. EVEN SLOWER ON HILLS, NO POWER.A LOT OF SEMIS AND CARS HONKING BUT NO PLACE TO PULL OVER.FELT WE COULD BE RAMMED FROM BEHIND AT ANY MOMENT. TERRIFYING.SUBSEQUENT CHECK ONLINE REVEALED THIS IS SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS. WHY HAS NOTHING BEEN DONE? IF EVER A RECALL WAS NEEDED THIS IS IT. WORSE THAN AN AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS POTENTIAL TO BE THE CAUSE OF MANY ACCIDENTS. MOST VEHICLES ON I-70 EXCEED THE 65MPH SPEED LIMIT AND A CAR GOING LESS THAN THE MIN REQUIRED SPEED IS AT GREAT RISK. DO SOMETHING!! MORE INFO ON THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. JUST GOOGLE NISSAN ROGUE ACCELERATION PROBLEM.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING ON LONGER DRIVES IN WARMER WEATHER. THE CAR STALLS AND STOPS ACCELERATING AND EVENTUALLY STOPS RUNNING ALTOGETHER. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN MY DAUGHTER IS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK AS IT RENDERS THE CAR DISABLED IN TRAFFIC.
WHEN DRIVING IN A HIGH WAY AT 70MPH CAR WOULD LOST CONECTION WITH ENGINE NONE RESPONSIVE AND CAN CAUSE MAJOR ACCIDENT CAR TRANSMISSION PRACTACLY GOES ON ON NUTRAL DOESNT RESPOND TO GAS PEDAL.
NEAR THE END OF MAY OF THIS YEAR, THE CAR STARTED LOSING POWER ON THE INTERSTATE. IT BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO THE PEDAL AND WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 40 MPH. IT ALSO MADE HORRIBLE NOISE AND VIBRATION. VEHICLES GOING 70 MPH HAD TO AVOID HITTING IT. THIS HAPPENED ON BRIDGES IN LOUISIANA WHERE OFF RAMPS ARE MILES AWAY. TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT, NO REPAIR PARTS. COST $3,800 PLUS TAX. DISCOVERED NISSAN'S EXTENDED WARRANTY, 10 YEARS OF 120,000 MILES, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. CAR HAS 101,000 MILES BUT WAS PURCHASED IN MARCH 2010, PAST 10 YEARS BY 2 MONTHS. IF I PURCHASED IN JUNE 2010 NISSAN WOULD PAY. SINCE BOUGHT IN MARCH, NISSAN REFUSED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. WAS ABLE TO GET IT REPAIRED FOR $3,200 WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION WITH 12,000 MILES 12 MONTH WARRANTY, WHICH EVER COMES FIRST. SAME TYPE OF TRANS THAT NISSAN ADMITS IS FAULTY. DON'T FEEL SAFE, BUT CAN'T SELL CAR WITH GOOD CONSCIOUS. *TR
I HAVE THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING , I NEVER BEEN IN ACCIDENT AND NERE HAPPEN BEFORE, THIS IS FIRST TIME IS FLASHING AND I HAVE THIS ISSUE
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON NO FIX HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED TECHS WANT TO REPLACE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS BUT CAN'T ASSURE IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM AIR BAG NOT FUNCTIONAL UNTIL WARNING LIGHT ISSUE IS ADDRESSED
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ON A COUNTRY RD. THERE WAS A SMELL, ALMOST LIKE IF WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID SPILLS, THEN SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THEN FLAMES ON THE RIGHT FRONT, UNDER THE HOOD. I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF, GRABBED MY PURSE AND RAN. 2 GOOD SAMARITANS PULLED OVER AND JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND WERE ABLE TO PUT IT OUT. THE WHOLE RIGHT HEADLIGHT WAS MELTED AWAY.
MY CAR HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CONTROL ARM SWITCH FOR THE LIGHTS I PUT THE HIGH BEAM AND THE DIRECTIONAL LIGHT COMES ON THE EMERGENCY LIGHT EVERYTHING HAPPENS WENT THE LIGHT ARE ON
PLEASE REFER TO: HTTPS://COMMUNITY.CARTALK.COM/T/TURN-SIGNAL-VOLUME/64854/6 DEAR CONGRESSMAN, SENATOR, OR ADMINISTRATOR ' I WISH TO OPEN A CAR SAFETY CASE. IT IS WIDESPREAD AND NOT RECEIVING ENOUGH PUBLICITY OR ATTENTION. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL CARS, MOST RECENTLY A 2002 TOYOTA COROLLA AND A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. IF YOU READ THE CAR TALK DISCUSSION AT THE ABOVE-REFERENCED WEBSITE, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND MY CONCERN AND THE CONCERNS OF MANY CAR OWNERS AND DRIVERS. BY THE NEGATIVE NATURE OF SOME COMMENTS DENYING AND RIDICULING THE ISSUE, YOU MIGHT THINK THAT SOME CAR MANUFACTURER REPRESENTATIVES ARE PROVIDING OFFSETTING AND NEGATIVE PUBLICITY. BRIEFLY, I AM INADVERTENTLY LEAVING MY TURN SIGNAL ON AND NOT BEING ALERTED THAT IT IS ON BY EITHER ITS VISUAL OR AUDIBLE INDICATORS. THE VISUAL SIGNAL IS BURIED DEEP IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE AUDIBLE SIGNAL FREQUENCY AND VOLUME MAKE IT HARD TO DISTINGUISH FROM ROAD NOISE. THIS IS INCONVENIENT AND DANGEROUS. THEREFORE, I BELIEVE THAT THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR SYSTEM IN THESE CARS DOES NOT WORK AS INTENDED AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I AM SEEKING A WAY TO ENHANCE OR AMPLIFY THE VISUAL AND AUDIBLE SIGNAL. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO AFTERMARKET KIT TO DO THAT. WHAT AM I ASKING FOR? PLEASE RESPOND TO ME AND EITHER AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH MY CONCERN. PLEASE REFER ME TO ANY AFTERMARKET ACCESSORY OR MODIFICATION THAT WILL FIT MY CAR AND ALLEVIATES THE ISSUE. PLEASE GUIDE ME IN INITIATING A CAR SAFETY ISSUE OR CASE THAT WILL BROADLY COME TO THE ATTENTION OF APPROPRIATE LEGISLATORS AND REGULATORS. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY WITH A GENERIC, GENERALIZED AND NON-SPECIFIC 'THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN' LETTER.
THE DIM LIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY LOW AND ARE A HAZARD TO NIGHT DRIVING. THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM FOR NISSAN AND TO NHTSA. I AM WONDERING WHAT THE CRITERIA IS FOR ENFORCING A SAFETY RECALL. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE? OR CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT? OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS? I AM FRUSTRATED AND AT MY WITS END TRYING TO GET SOME WELL DESERVED ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 25 MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ENGAGED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED DURING OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. *DT 9/5 AND 9/26 TRIP TO KENTUCKY AND MICHIGAN 65-70 TO 20-25 PULLED OFF QUICKLY COASTED LOOKING FOR EXIT AFTER ABOUT TEN MINUTES POWER STARTED COMING BACK. MADE IT HOME. DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL 9/26 CALLED MECHANIC SAID HE WAS STANDING LOOKING AT A 2019 THAT THE GUY SAID IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING. MADE A WHIRRING NOISE AND LOST POWER, HE SAID IT WAS A 5-6K TRANSMISSION FIX AND HE WOULD GET MY CAR IN THIS COMING MONDAY TO HOOK IT UP. I TOLD MENDALLS THAT WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS BESIDES THE HIGHWAY TRIPS AND HE SAID THE OTHER GUY SAID THE EXACT SAME THING. 109 POWERTRAIN TRANSMISSION DECELERATION COMPLAINTS.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED SEVERAL TIMES, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND AN ABNORMAL CRACKING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED AND THERE WAS NO WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO POMOCO NISSAN OF HAMPTON (1134 W MERCURY BLVD, HAMPTON, VA 23666, (757) 206-2704) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE KICK PANEL HARNESS CONNECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH LOSS OF POWER WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MILES AN HOUR IT STARTS DECELERATING TO 60 AND THE 50 MPH SOMETIME WHEN I'M AT A LIGHT IT WILL NOT TAKE OFF. I WILL PUT THE THE CAR I DRIVE OR REVERSE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. ALSO I WAS TRYING TO PASS OVER ANOTHER CAR AND WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF I EVER SAW ONE WHY WILL NISSAN NOT TAKE CARE OF THIS CVT ISSUE I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY DON'T ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE MORE DEATHS OCCUR. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED ON HWY. I-10 DRIVING FROM HOUSTON TEXAS TO KATY TEXAS WICH IS ABOUT 25 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. AFTER STOPPING AND ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO REST FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER NISSAN OF GASTONIA (2275 EAST FRANKLIN BLVD, GASTONIA NC) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION COOLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS ALSO DEEM THAT DUE TO THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE COOLER FAILURE THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING AND SLOWED DOWN.
