The OK button on the steering wheel collapsed in causing the dash menus to choose random settings and turn them on or off. In the dash selection, controlled with this, is the crash detection on the vehicle, causing the menu to cycle through and turn off and on these settings also. There’s blind spot, alarms, lane departure, driver assistance, and backup sensors. There’s vehicle’s safety features are controlled in the dash menus. The cruise control button is also sticking resulting in the cars speed to change whenever. This is a known issue with Nissan but still refuse to do anything about it after the bumper to bumper warranty period is over, even though it includes safety features. They also want us to pay $170 dollars just for them to say “yes the bottons are broken.” Several forums have confirmed this is a problem that Nissan is well aware of. Someone mentioned their 2023 went through 3 steering wheels because of this issue and it was within the warranty period, so Nissan replaced the steering wheels (you can’t just replace the button modules).
I live in Melbourne Florida, when going to pick up the wife I turn on the ADAS as I was leaving the house and I got this message. Unavailable Camera Temperature High accompanied by the crash sign signal. This not only negated the blind spot warning, forward collision warning, lane departure warning but also then back-up camera. Also the sun also blocks the vision of the back-up camera Dealer said it was in the sun to long, but when I told him the collision icon was on he said to make an appointment to have it looked at. Appointment is August 10. Question: If these are safety devises shouldn't the work all the time.
3/21/2023 Rear crash warning went off and car would not move leaving me in the middle of the road blocking both lanes of traffic. Car eventually permitted me to go forward however crash warning continued to blink. It’s recorded on Video the flashing warnings. Had the car at dealer for recall of Head unit on 11/16 and has been back 3 times since and Has not been repaired. On Approx2/62024 I had a critical Error appear on my screen and the ABS took the car from 70 MPH to under 40 on the highway for no reason. On 2/7 I was called to Bring the car back to dealer and was given a rental car for over a month, there was a firewall repair and fuel line repair. Still no head unit with no ETA! From my understanding head unit will hopefully fix sensors from randomly going off. Dispite having video of it happening, Nissan can’t duplicate so warning issues are not repaired. The car is dangerous but have no other means of transportation and it can’t seem to get repaired because they don’t have the parts yet still have the parts to continue to produce them.
