The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated while responding. The contact stated that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who advised the contact that there was an open recall for the engine and referred the contact to a dealer. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact advised the dealer of the recall notification; however, the dealer informed the contact that the repair would be at the owner's expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and advised the contact to call back in December. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
The screen turns off suddenly while the vehicle is in use. Additionally, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system is either deactivated or displays as “off” when the car is started. The sudden deactivation of the AEB system compromises the vehicle’s ability to automatically brake in critical situations, increasing the risk of a collision. The screen turning off could also limit access to important vehicle information or controls, further impacting safety. No warning lamps appeared prior to the failure. The issue with the screen and AEB deactivation happens when the vehicle is started, but there were no prior warnings before this started occurring. After so many recalls, I no longer feel safe with this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that occasionally, while driving at various speeds, the ESB warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the contact was advised that the vehicle did not qualify for a Buy Back and deemed the vehicle safe to drive. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue, the engine suddenly stalled as I approached a stop sign. The dashboard lit up with multiple warning lights, including the oil pressure warning. When I attempted to restart, the vehicle made a loud grinding/knocking sound, failed to start properly, and then shut off again. I was unable to restart the vehicle myself. Later, at the dealership, they reported that they were able to turn it on and drive it, but they could not confirm the stall I experienced. The vehicle has also shown other concerning symptoms: shaking when idling, jerking when stopping or accelerating, and occasional grinding noises. My local Nissan dealer eventually reported a broken transmission mount but did not find engine or transmission codes. I am very concerned that my symptoms (stalling, oil pressure light, grinding on restart) are consistent with the open recall for engine bearings on this model. The dealer admitted they currently have no guidance or remedy from Nissan for this recall, so no proper inspection or fix could be performed. Safety Hazard: This is a serious safety issue. The car stalled unexpectedly in traffic, leaving me without power. I was unable to restart it, and I feared the engine could fail completely at higher speeds, which could put me and others at risk. Concern: Nissan has not yet provided dealers with instructions or remedies for this recall, leaving owners with unsafe vehicles on the road. I strongly believe my case should be investigated as part of the bearing recall.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 50 MPH, she heard a chime and then the vehicle's forward collision brake system independently engaged. The contact stated that his oldest son did not see anything in front of the vehicle. The contact stated that his wife said the vehicle pulled sharply to the right and drove down an embankment and onto a property. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed head-on into a stack of railroad ties. All of the air bags had deployed. The contact stated that both his wife and oldest son were shaken but had minor injuries, mostly bruises on their shoulders and waists from the seat belts and abrasions on their hands and foreheads from the air bags. The contact said that there was a hole in the windshield on the driver's side that had sent glass fragments into his wife's scalp and feet, but no major lacerations. The contact stated that his youngest son, who was seated behind the older brother, had not suffered any severe injuries. The contact stated that his wife was transported to the emergency room and that both sons were treated on site but not transported. The state police arrived and filed a report, but the contact did not have the report number. The vehicle's front end was crushed to the wheel wells. The contact stated that the driver's side front and rear axles were fractured, and both tires had blown out. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the accident, the vehicle's motor had been replaced in June of 2025. The failure mileage was approximately 65,500.

So now I'm afraid to drive the car but that's the only transportation available. I don't know how else to go about this. Please help

My Nissan rogue has had problems starting suddenly and gives an engine malfunction warning and the engine icon I have not had the vehicle for even a year and is under 50’000 miles . The engine is giving low power and a remedy has yet to be given ‘ meanwhile I commute from Ontario to LA daily for work and the engine can fail lose power and cause a accident that is a safety issue and it feels like there is a lack of urgency and concern I went to the dealership and all they say is they have not received a remedy yet but I can do a diagnostic for 210.00 to see what I know is wrong unnecessary out of pocket expense No loaner offered until they get a resolve I had to ask metro Nissan of Montclair buy that would not be addressed until I pay for a Diagnostic further inconveniencing me as a customer this is a safety issue I have a child I have to drive around as well so it is a safety issue for my child as well and me as the driver that commutes 50 + miles . I’m at the dealership in Montclair now needing to wait 4 hours for them to tell me what I know the problem is and I’m sure they will additional recommendations this is not fair and a big inconvenience I had to miss work today because if this .
I've been waiting for Nissan to come up for a remedy for recall # 25V - 437. I've called the dealership several times and have been told that there isn't a remedy yet for the problem. I first started calling about six weeks ago once I found out about the recall and its potential problems and hazards.
My car just randomly started having issues. It will start one day then take forever to start the next day. I’ve experienced bad odor to the vehicle and also the vehicle jumps into gears instead of smoothly shifting into gear. Also the engine is making noise and also the engine malfunction light has came on and my vehicle reduced power making it impossible to drive out of nowhere. I don’t feel safe riding in this vehicle due to the burning smell.

The front, movable section of my panoramic sunroof unexpectedly exploded/shattered while driving. There were no other vehicles in front of me and it was a clear sunny day with nothing overhead. The sunroof and cover were closed. If the cover had been opened, glass shards would've hit the occupants inside the cabin. The sound was an extremely loud bang similar to a shotgun. The sound caused me to brake and slightly swerve. Fortunately, there were no other vehicles nearby and I was able to pullover safely. There was a large chunk of glass missing and quite a bit of small shards on top of the cover. Glass shards continued to fall off while driving home.
Hatchback glass exploded
I am leasing a 2023 Nissan Rogue (VIN: [XXX] ) and have received an Important Safety Recall Notice (NHTSA Recall 25V-xxx) regarding a potential engine defect. Unfortunately, my vehicle is already experiencing the exact conditions described in the recall. On multiple occasions (most recently [XXX]), I received warning messages including “Engine Malfunction – Power Reduced” and **“Battery – Service Now.” These incidents occurred while driving with my children in the vehicle on highways, creating an unsafe situation and risk of crash. I took my Rogue to Hertrich Nissan twice for inspection. Each time, I was told no issues were found, despite the warnings reappearing. Prior to this, I also had the MIL status recall performed and was told everything was fine. Clearly, the defect persists, and the vehicle remains unsafe to drive. This is an urgent safety concern. I drive my children daily and cannot risk sudden power loss or engine failure on the road. Nissan has acknowledged this defect in the recall notice but has stated parts may not be available until late 2025. That is unacceptable when the vehicle is already showing failures. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this issue further. Nissan should be required to take immediate corrective action, including providing affected customers with safe alternative transportation, buyback/lease termination options, or reimbursement. Customers should not have to continue making payments on unsafe vehicles while waiting over a year for a potential repair. My back window of my 2023 Nissan Rogue SL Blew out. I have a police report. Woman sweepingnuo the glass was nearly hit by the glass as the liftgate opened automatically and she could have been hurt very badly. Of there was someone in the backseat it would have been a very serious injury. The back window id defective and there have been numerous reports of the 2023 Nissan Rogues back windows exploding for no apparent reason. Very dangerous situation. I had mine replaced with no help from Nissan as my car was bought brand new and is still under warranty. Im out $1400.00 for the repair as well. This is unacceptable in so many ways. Im so afraid to drive it again as this could happen again. Someone can be severely hurt or killed. This needs to be recalled now. Before someone dies!!

I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue in New Jersey. Approximately 45 days after purchase, Nissan issued multiple safety recalls involving a risk of crash. The manufacturer failed to provide the required parts and did not remedy the safety defects within a reasonable time. I repeatedly requested a manufacturer buyback or a rental vehicle while waiting for recall repairs, but Nissan refused both requests. Due to the unresolved safety risk and lack of any reasonable solution, I was forced to sell the vehicle at a significant financial loss. This complaint concerns Nissan’s failure to timely remedy a known safety defect and the resulting consumer harm.
Abnormal engine noise and acceleration hesitation issues repaired.

Vehicle has been having multiple issues a repairs since May. Contacted Nissan corporate multiple times regarding concern for issues and safety. Vehicle has become disable multiple times along the Highway at early morning hours, ie 2 am. Have called engine knocking, poor engine performance and engine malfunction dash lights illuminated on dash to attention of Cochran Nissan Dealership and Nissan corporate multiple times. Dealership continues to gaslight us about the engine issues. We recently learned of recall on engine and were informed there is “no fix.” Failure to repair will increase risk of crash. Feeling very unsafe and uncomfortable driving a vehicle that is not reliable and may crash due to recall and lack of repair.

Now that what was described has happened the dealership is stating I have to pay 3500 to determine if it is the engine. Before they can determine if it’s part of the recall after 4 months of me asking for the help and describing how the car was running.

2023 Nissan Rogue with 26,527 miles and OEM Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S tires. Sidewall of passenger side rear tire has a bulge in the side wall. Noticed this after having the car serviced at the dealer. Coincidentally, the front tire blew today while driving.
While driving, I suddenly saw the message "WARNING! MALFUNCTION. Refer to owner’s manual" display on my dashboard, which caused a loss of power and made it difficult to accelerate. I had to turn off the car in the middle of the highway, and it was frightening to think what could happen if this occurred on the expressway.

Dear Sir or Madam, I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue for $24,510.00 from a New Jersey Nissan dealership. Only 45 days after the purchase, Nissan issued two separate safety recalls involving a risk of crash. Nissan failed to provide the necessary parts for months and did not remedy the safety defects within a reasonable time, as required under the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. Chapter 301). I repeatedly contacted Nissan asking for: 1.a buyback at fair market value, and 2.a rental/loaner vehicle until the recall repairs were completed. Nissan refused both requests, which violates the New Jersey Lemon Law, the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act, and the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. Because the vehicle was unsafe to drive and Nissan offered no solution, I was forced to sell it for $16,600.00. My financial loss is $7,910.00. I respectfully request: 1.A formal investigation into Nissan North America’s handling of these safety recalls, and 2.Assistance in recovering my $7,910.00 economic loss. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Subject: Failure of Nissan to Remedy Safety Issue Similar to Existing Recall – Nissan Rogue Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am submitting this complaint regarding Nissan North America’s refusal to address a serious mechanical issue on my Nissan Rogue that is substantially similar to an existing recall. Despite the fact that my vehicle is experiencing the same symptoms and failures described in NHTSA Campaign, Nissan has declined to perform the necessary repair under the recall. Details: Vehicle: 2023 nissan rouge Mileage: 62750 Recall reference: Description of issue: My Rogue has exhibited loss of power which is identical to the condition Nissan has acknowledged in the recall. Nissan’s response: When I contacted my dealer and Nissan consumer affairs, they advised that my VIN is not included in the recall, even though the failure is the same as those vehicles covered. Safety concern: This issue poses a significant safety risk, as it stalling at high speed, inability to accelerate, the complete engine failure. The refusal to cover this repair leaves me with an unsafe vehicle and an undue financial burden, even though Nissan is aware of the defect. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate Nissan’s handling of this matter and consider expanding the scope of the recall to include vehicles like mine that are experiencing the same hazardous defect. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety matter. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Recall for engine bearings - no solution Use vehicle with family/children, if not safe and no fix available I suggest a vehicle buy back or a replacement as a second option.
The main issue involves the engine bearings (recall campaign KR15, NHTSA ID 25V-437). According to Nissan, certain engines equipped with the 1.5L VC-Turbo have a manufacturing defect in the main, A-, C-, and L-link bearings or related components. This defect can lead to engine damage and, in some cases, complete engine failure. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This situation puts my safety and the safety of others at risk, because if the engine fails while driving, it may cause a sudden loss of motive power, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. I am especially concerned because I frequently drive on highways and in traffic conditions where a sudden loss of power could result in an accident. The issue has been confirmed by Nissan through the recall notice, but as of now, the remedy is still pending, and there is no immediate fix or available parts for the engine bearing defect. My vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan for this recall, and I have not received a loaner vehicle or alternative solution to ensure safety while the remedy is pending. In addition, there are two other active recalls: Turbo hose defect (Nissan ID P4A47) – may cause fuel vapor smell inside or around the vehicle. EEM Logic (Nissan ID P3A28) – related to the Underhood Switching Module (USM/IPDM), which may lead to a vehicle no-start condition. Before the engine problem fully manifests, there are warning signs including unusual engine noises, rough engine performance, and warning messages appearing on the dashboard, such as the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). These symptoms appeared progressively and have increased my concern about the possibility of a total engine failure while driving.
Vehicle start/stop feature causes the vehicle to “jump” forward and shutter upon engine engagement. Transmission replaced and a rattling occurring.
My 2023 Nissan Rogue with less than 38,000 miles is experiencing severe engine failure. This has happened multiple times (more than 30 times) on the highway and in the city. When I am in slow-moving traffic or stop at a red light, the engine appears to rev and a warning light comes up "Engine Malfunction. Power reduce. Service now." Then the speed reduced, and no matter how hard I stepped on the gas pedal, the speed would not go past 8 miles per hour. I had to turn on the hazard lights to warn motorists behind me. To get the car to function, I turned off the engine, let it cool for a few minutes, and turned it on again. This issue has been going on for months. I took it to the Nissan dealership, and they could not find the problem. I am afraid of driving in slow traffic and of stopping at the traffic light. Please, somebody, needs to pass this on to Nissan so they can fix this problem? From online discussions, this appears to be an ongoing problem with many 2023 Nissan Rogues.

When changing the engine oil, the oil pan drain plug and and the oil pan drain plug sleeve detached from the polymer oil pan assembly rendering the polymer oil pan unusable and the car undrivable. The polymer oil pan had to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after stopping at a traffic light and then making a turn, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate as intended. There were no warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle never stalled. The contact waited for a while, and the vehicle operated as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact manually turned off the “Engine- START/STOP” feature. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the remedy was not yet available. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
Engine failure while driving on the interstate, loss of power and will not run. At a Nissan dealer in Canandaigua, NY. Telling me the engine needs replace with 70,000 miles on it.
Nissan issued the recall on my vehicle. I took it into the dealership to be inspected. Was informed my car was one that needed to be fixed because of metal fragments on the dipstick in the oil. Was told Nissan had no remedy for the situation yet and had no idea when it would be available to be fixed. So I am expected to continue to drive a car that could stop working while driving and potentially cause a crash. It is absolutely unacceptable for them not to have a remedy for the situation or even know when they will.
Automatic braking and crash detection alarm failed causing collision with another vehicle, totaling the car. That was the third time it happened. The first two times I was able to get the vehicle under control before collision. Problem was never addressed at a dealership due to scheduling issues. Problem first appeared in May 2025, then in July 2025. Collision totaling the vehicle occurred on August 6, 2025.
Since August 6, 2025, my vehicle has been under a safety recall and has been unusable for over three months. The recall notice states that the remedy is not yet available, and there is no estimated date for when repairs will be completed. I have contacted Nissan multiple times seeking assistance, including requests for a loaner vehicle, rental reimbursement, or buyback, but Nissan has refused to help or provide any interim solution. As a result, I have been without the use of my car for several months due to a manufacturer’s safety defect. Summary of Issues: •Recall active since August 6, 2025 •Remedy not available; no repair timeline provided •Vehicle cannot be safely driven •Manufacturer refuses to assist with transportation, rental, or buyback I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance and investigation into this matter, as it is unreasonable that a safety recall leaves an owner without a vehicle for such an extended period without any remedy or support. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety concern.
