I am unsure exactly what happened, I was driving and heard a pop look up and rear windshield was shattered, no impact, crash, and/or hit with an object. Once I looked at the window I noticed that it exploded around the window if following the contour of the shape. This was extremely weird, sudden, and dangerous especially considering I was driving on the highway, I tried emailing Nissan, however, in return I was only sent a discount coupon for floor mats. This is concerning and I have to pay $500 for a new window but I do not want to have to repeat this scenario
On April 19, 2026, while driving on the highway with my [XXX] son, the vehicle suddenly experienced a complete engine failure and shut down without any warning, leaving us stranded in the middle of the road. Good day, I am writing to formally raise and escalate a serious concern regarding the vehicle I recently purchased Autosource company. I purchased a car through auto source company that assists international professionals in leasing or purchasing vehicles in the United States. However, upon independently checking the vehicle’s VIN, it has come to my attention that the car has an unresolved safety recall involving the electric throttle body. This issue was not disclosed to us at any point during the purchasing process, which is very concerning. As this vehicle is intended for daily family use, including transporting my children, safety is our top priority. The presence of an unresolved recall raises significant concerns about the vehicle’s reliability and overall safety. Additionally, I have made multiple attempts to contact the assigned agent regarding this matter, but unfortunately, I have not received any response to my messages or emails. This lack of communication is deeply disappointing. Given that the vehicle is scheduled for delivery on [XXX] I respectfully request the following: Immediate clarification regarding the recall status Confirmation that all necessary repairs will be fully completed prior to delivery. Official documentation proving that the recall has been resolved. Assistance from a supervisor or appropriate representative to handle this escalation. Please treat this matter with urgency. I would appreciate a prompt response to ensure that this issue is resolved before the scheduled delivery date. Thank you for your attention to this matter. The sliding portion of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered with an explosive sound and force without provocation or impact damage occurring. We were driving at 5-10 MPH through our apartment complex, but it would have been more dangerous had we been driving at a higher rate of speed on a street or highway. My husband suffered some light scratches on his left arm, but no other injuries thank goodness. We immediately drove the vehicle to Pinnacle Nissan, but they denied assistance and coverage as well as Nissan Consumer Affairs. Repair is pending through auto insurance through 3rd party vendor Blue Chip glass, so it won't be available for inspection after this week once repaired, but I have photos.
Back windshield shattered out of nowhere while vehicle was parked.
Hello, I am writing to report a sudden rear windshield failure on my 2025 Nissan Rogue. On March 20, 2026, the rear windshield shattered without any impact or external cause. I am aware of ongoing reports and a recently filed class action lawsuit alleging rear windshield defects in 2021–2025 Nissan Rogues. Based on the circumstances, I believe my vehicle experienced the same defect. I have video and photographic documentation available upon request. Due to immediate safety concerns and inability to operate the vehicle, I had the windshield replaced on March 21, 2026, by Windshields R Us at a cost of $337.04. Given the known safety concerns and reported defect, I am requesting reimbursement and documentation of this incident under Nissan’s defect review process. Please provide a case number and advise on next steps. Thank you, [XXX] and [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] 2025 Nissan Rogue VIN: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle and closing the front driver’s side door, the rear windshield shattered into several pieces. The vehicle was immediately driven to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer could not confirm when the part would be available to repair the vehicle. The contact researched and became aware of a Class Action Lawsuit associated with the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,500. The VIN was not available.
The contact rented a 2025 Nissan Rogue from Enterprise Rental. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the rear glass unexpectedly shattered when the door was closed. The vehicle was not occupied at the time of the failure. The dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. I am reporting an issue related to a safety recall involving the electronic throttle system on my 2025 Nissan. I scheduled two separate service appointments with Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa (San Diego, CA) to have this recall addressed, and in both cases, the dealership failed to inspect or service the vehicle on the scheduled day. First appointment – March 6 at 8:45 AM: I dropped off my vehicle at the scheduled time and left it at the dealership for the entire day. I arranged transportation home at my own expense. At approximately 4:00 PM—over 7 hours later—I was contacted and informed that the dealership’s computers were down and that my vehicle had not been inspected at all. No prior notice was given, and the vehicle remained untouched for the entire duration of the appointment. Second appointment – April 8 at 2:30 PM: I scheduled a second appointment and again arranged my schedule to bring the vehicle in. Upon arrival at the scheduled appointment time, I was informed that the vehicle would not be inspected that day and would need to remain overnight before any evaluation could begin. In both cases, despite having scheduled appointments and leaving the vehicle in their possession for extended periods, the dealership did not perform even a basic inspection related to a safety recall. The recall notice indicated that the repair would take approximately one hour. Instead, I lost two workdays and incurred out-of-pocket transportation expenses without any progress on a safety-related issue. This raises concerns about the dealership’s handling of manufacturer safety recalls and the delay in addressing a potentially safety-critical defect.
As I were closing the driver side door, the back window of the Nissan Rogue just shattered
Back glass completely shattered while driving around 65 MPH down the road. Had been driving for around 1 hr prior and weather was a consistent 30 degrees. No objects hit the glass and then it sounded like a loud explosion. I had a service inspection on February 20, 2026 where no issues were stated. No warnings appeared prior to this incident.
Vehicle was on a slight incline. Shifted into park. Vehicle was running and I went and got into the passenger side, waiting for my daughter to come out of work and drive home. Vehicle evidently came out of the park gear and rolled approximately 100' backwards into another vehicle parked behind me on the same incline.
THE REAR GLASS EXPLODED.
My vehicle was parked in my driveway. I left my property in another vehicle and upon returning, my rear windshield was shattered. If this had happened while operating the vehicle, there would have been a high risk of injury to myself, other occupants, or other vehicles on the road. This has not yet been confirmed by Nissan, but there have been other reports and a lawsuit filed by other owners. This incident has not been inspected, as windshield replacement is fully covered by my state, it was not caused by collision or vandalism, and I need to get it repaired quickly in order to commute to work. There were no warning notifications prior to the failure.

I went to start the car. Got out and shut the drivers door and the rear windshield shattered and fell in. There were no cracks or chips in the window before. Broken glass shards got all in my 7 month olds extra car seat that we use for a stroller. The Nissan dealership we bought the car from said the glass is on back order with no idea when it will be in stock. They put plastic over it and sent us away until they find more information out.
The back windshield just shattered out of no where.
While sitting at a red light, the rear windows exploded and shattered. After getting out of the vehicle to determine what happened, the windows then caved in. This is a rental vehicle and has to be repaired immediately. The damage is no longer available for inspection. This put mine and others safety at risk because if I had of been moving during the time of the explosion, it could have caused an accident. The police inspected the vehicle. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to this happening. I only had the vehicle for a 4 days prior to this happening.

While pulling over, the rear glass shattered. The vehicle was taken to a glass repair shop to have the rear glass repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, while exiting the parking lot at approximately 5 - 10 MPH, the glass fractured and shattered, with pieces of glass falling into the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over into a parking lot and took a photo before returning home and covering the window with plastic. The vehicle was not taken to be repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,652.

The vehicle came to a complete stop in the middle of the interstate. Despite the catastrophic nature of the accident and the significant impact forces, none of the ten air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. A police report was filed. The vehicle was rendered inoperable and was subsequently declared a total loss. While driving at 45 MPH with my wife in the front passenger seat, on a two lane road (one way each direction) in Wake Forest NC, no cars were in the front or rear of my vehicle , sunny clear weather, the following happened: Driving normally, then all of a sudden, the car proceeds to, what felt like emergency braking and then a split second, the dashboard signals come on , different symbols, then a red image appears on the dashboard (for a split second) then it brakes hard a second time (within a split second) then everything clears and the car proceeds to drive normally. The braking action felt like a severe brake pulsing, then a split second release and then another spilt second brake pulsing and then everything cleared and the car continued to drive normally. The braking was so severe, my wife and I lurched forward towards the windshield, held back by our seat belts. The braking occurred suddenly with nothing near the vehicle. The emergency braking came in the first pulse, then followed by a extremely brief release(split second) then another quick emergency braking action(split second), then multiple lights and warnings quickly appeared on the dash board ending with a split second red symbol (so brief i could not determine any of the warnings or lights). Then the car drove normally after that. If any vehicle had been behind us, a rear accident collision could have taken place. This happened on Saturday, February 14th at approximately 2:30pm on Forestville Road, in Wake Forest, NC. This was an extremely dangerous situation. As this is now a Sunday, the Nissan dealer will be contacted tomorrow and arrangements will be made to bring the vehicle in for an inspection ASAP. I feel the vehicle is unsafe to drive at this point in time.
I went out and got in my 2025 Nissan Roque in the garage. I opened the driver's side door, got in, closed the door and heard a loud explosion. My back window completely blew out! It was frightening! Glass is all over inside the back of my car and behind it. I'm thankful no one was in that whole area! I called my insurance that day and they contacted SAFELITE immediately and set up and appointment to have them come and replace it here in my garage, although it has taken 6 days. 6 days without a vehicle! I have since learned there is Class Action Law Suit on this ongoing matter.
I bought my Rogue August 2025, brand new. I am at home and my rear windshield has just busted out for no reason. It is 38 degrees today outside. I have not moved my vehicle at all today. For no reason, just sitting in driveway, it has busted. I looked up and it looks as if other Rogues are doing this. This is very dangerous. What if I had been driving the vehicle.
The rear window shattered without being hit by anything. We were parked in a lot and the window just shattered for no apparent reason. Window fragments are dangerous. I saw the issue online when I started to investigate if this was a one off or it happened to others. We are scheduled to visit the dealership. They indicated that they had another incident with video proof that nothing struck the rear window and it just shattered. The dealership also indicated that Nissan refused to fix it. There was no warning. Something needs to be done to cure this situation. Our vehicle is brand new - we have owned it for less than a year.
The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the rear window glass imploded and shattered. The contact was able to pull into the workplace parking lot. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was later towed to Safelite Auto Glass, where the rear window glass was being replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

REAR WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO REASON WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, NISSAN SAID NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY HAD TO GO THRU MY INSUARANCE CO
My vehicle had been parked in my driveway for approximately one hour. When I entered the car and closed the door, I immediately heard a shattering sound. The vehicle was not running at the time, and there was no impact or external force involved. The rear window shattered suddenly and without warning. I am thankful this did not occur while I was driving, as it presents a serious safety concern that could have caused an accident. There were no prior signs or indications that this would happen. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
My car was sitting in the parking lot at work and the back glass shattered. I called the dealer to see if it was under warranty and they told me no. I called my insurance and they are trying to get it replaced. I put crash wrap on it so I can drive it. I can't see out the back now.
Car was parked in indoor parking garage, I Opened driver’s door and heard a crash. The rear window had shattered. Luckily I was not driving at the time, this could have potentially caused a very dangerous situation. Nissan consumer affairs stated no recall and refused to cover the repair.
Rear windshield exploded without anything to promote this. There was not any rocks or pebbles that hit it, the glass just shattered.
On January 22, 2026, my husband and i were sitting in the parked vehicle, which was rented from Thrifty Rental, and the rear window spontaneously exploded into a million pieces. We have since learned that there is a Federal lawsuit and hundreds of complaints against Nissan for this exact issue. We consider ourselves lucky that the car was not moving as there could have been bodily injury or an accident.
Back Window shattered while sitting in parking lot while I was at work.
The rear window of the vehicle failed and cracked around the edges and then imploded shattered glass into the vehicle with no force or accident, only cold weather. Vehicle was parked and engine not on.
The back window spontaneously shattered while the vehicle was idling in the driveway. It appears to have cracked aound the edges and left a softball sized hole in the window.
The front camera and sensors are constantly popping up that they are disabled. The front sensor failed to indicate warning and failed emergency brake. Car should have stopped but I stead it hit the car in front. Sensors, and other electrical services are constantly disabling themselves, or failing to work. What is the point of safety features if they constantly fail.
I opened my car door sat inside closed the door and my rear window shattered
Rear window exploded upon closing drivers side door
Rear window I started the vehicle, and almost immediately the rear window shattered. I had driven the vehicle earlier that day to work, and used the rear window defrost, which I manually turned off after about 5 minutes and the rear windshield was fine. I Parked the car in the parking lot at about 10:15 AM at work, and returned at a little after 7 PM at which time I started the car to leave, and the window shattered. I immediately inspected the window,,the back compartment and the surrounding area at the back of the vehicle to see if something had hit the window, there was nothing there. There was no warning lights, the temperature was in the 70's (I live in Florida) and I saw no type of external element that caused the window to break. My insurance had the rear window replaced, the glass technician said it possibly had something to do with the heating element that could have made the glass implode.
While getting in my car after work I shut the drivers door and the rear hatch glass shattered.
