TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1.8 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE DASHBOARD. SOMEONE DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE STEERING BELT WAS SHREDDING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND THEY ALSO INFORMED HER THAT THE STEERING BELT WAS SHREDDING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING BELT. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS GIVEN CASE# 5685502. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,000.*AK THE DEALER STATED TRUNK RELEASE INOPERABLE FROM REMOTE. THE DEALER REPLACED TRUNK LID OPENER ACTUATOR. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STILL FEELS LIKE IT IS UNSAFE AND ALSO STATES THAT THE PAINT IS DEFECTIVE. UPDATED 06/14/07 *TR
DROVE TO WORK, END OF DAY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT COKE HAD SPILLED NEAR THE GEAR SHIFT WHICH STOPPED IT FROM WORKING. I DO NOT DRINK COKE. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS HAPPENS TO A LOT OF LADIES CAR. BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER. TOWER CAME CARRY CAR TO DEALER WENT INSIDE CAR, PULL UP COVER UNSCREWED HIS PEN PUSHED IN HOLE PUT CAR IN GEAR.TOLD ME DRIVE TO DEALER.TUESDAY,WAS TOLD "COKE" IN CAR HAVE TO PAY $500+. CALL SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAIN HAPPENS HOW CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH "COKE" PROBLEM BEFORE GETTING THERE.DID HE TEST CAR WHY IT DID NOT GO INTO GEAR HIS REPLY SAME " YOU SPILLED COKE NOW IT NOT WORK".WEDNESDAY WENT SOMETHING IN CAR THE MANAGER SAID WAS STICKY, ASKED DID THEY CHECK TO SEE WHAT IT WAS THEY SAID NO. NEEDED TO KNOW IF I WANTED TO FIX IT OR WAS I GOING TO MOVE IT OFF THEIR LOT. MANY QUESTIONS NO HELPFUL ANSWERS ALL RECEIVED WAS "GIVE ME THE RENTAL CAR AND REMOVE YOUR CAR OFF THE LOT".I GAVE HIM THE KEY ASK FOR STATEMENT SHOWING I RETURNED CAR HE SAID NO.ASKED FOR THE KEY BACK TO RETURN CAR MYSELF.I TALKED TO NISSAN MANUFACTURE TURNED COMPLAINT OVER TO CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEY MADE ME FEEL LESS THAN A PERSON.ASKED DID THEY KNOW THIS HAPPEN TO THIS VEHICLE THEY SAID YES. WHY DO THEY NOT TELL PEOPLE OR PUT INFO ON COMPUTER HE WAS VERY RUDE.ASKED WHY DID I NOT ASK IF IT WAS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM IF "COKE OR SOMETHING WAS SPILLED IN THE VEHICLE, HE TOLD ME AN ECONOMICAL VEHICLE NOT HAVE LUXURIES OF EXPENSIVE VEHICLE.IF I WANTED A WATER PROOF VEHICLE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE OF PURCHASING A MORE EXPENSIVE VEHICLE.I WAS HURT AND ASKED WHY DID THEY NOT HAVE VEHICLE RECALLED CUP HOLDERS IN FRONT OF THE GEAR SHIFT.NO ONE LISTEN.GEAR SHIFT NOT WORKING PROPERLY VOID EMERGENCY BRAKE, HAVE TO CRANK IN NEUTRAL.ON INCLINE CAR WILL ROLL BACKWARD OUT OF CONTROL NOT YET NO ONE HAS BEEN KILL YET I WAS TOLD.PRAY NO ONE GET KILL BEFORE THIS IS LOOK INTO AS A SERIOUS MATTER.*NM
MY CAR HAD ITS SERPENTINE BELT GOING BAD AT 10000 MILES. IT MAKES A SQUEAKY SOUND WHICH CAN ONLY BE FIXED BY CHANGING THE BELT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MANY SENTRA OWNERS. MINE IS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA (SPECIAL EDITION). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND HEARD A GRINDING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHIFTER WAS TOO TIGHT AND THEY LOOSENED THE SHIFTER ON TWO OCCASIONS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CAUSED THE FAILURE. AS OF DECEMBER 10, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,998. UPDATED 01-14-08. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HEARD A CRACKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD A LEAK, THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS REPLACED, THE SHIFT KNOB WAS SCREWED ON TOO FAR WHICH WAS MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR THE CONSUMER TO SHIFT GEARS. THE CD CHANGER WOULD NOT EJECT CD'S. THE HAZARD SWITCH FAILED, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WOULD STICK INTERMITTENTLY. UPDATED 01/11/08. *JB
I LEASED A NEW NISSAN SENTRA IN MARCH '06. IN NOVEMBER OF '06 I MOVED AND STARTED PARKING DOWNHILL. IT HAS LEAKED EVER SINCE INTO THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP HAVE TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM NOW FOR 8 WEEKS AND IT CONTINUES TO LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER CONTINUE TO TELL ME THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND THE PROBLEM. *JB
MY SON PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA ON 10/13/06. THE CAR ONLY HAD 20 MILES ON IT. IT RAN GOOD FOR A WEEK THEN HE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT NOT STARTING. HE HAD TO GET IT JUMPED OFF. THAT WAS FRIDAY 10/20/06; HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS ON SAT. SUNDAY WAS A DIFFERENT STORY, HE AND HIS FIANCE HAD A GET IT JUMPED OFF THREE TIMES. WHEN YOU WOULD STOP AT STOP SIGN OR LIGHT IT WOULD BARELY TAKE OFF. SHE WENT BY THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT.THEY TOLD HER IT WAS PROBABLY THE BATTERY TO BRING IT BACK ON MONDAY 10/23/06; SHE SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE BETWEEN HIS TWO JOBS. HE WOULD COME BY AROUND 4:15 PM, THEY SAID THAT WAS FINE. HE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TUES. 10/24/06, THEY RAN A COMPUTER SCAN ON THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS FINE THAT NO CODES SHOWED UP. HE TOLD THEM THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT HE WANTED TO GET WHATEVER IS WRONG FIXED. THEY TOLD HIM TO BRING IT AND LEAVE IT, HE EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT HE COULDN'T LEAVE THE CAR DUE TO THE FACT HE WORKS FROM 7AM-4PM AND 4:30PM-11PM. HE ASKED ABOUT GETTING A RENTAL OR A LOANER, THEY SAID HE COULDN'T GET ONE BECAUSE HIS AGE AND BECAUSE NO CODES HAD SHOWED UP. HE WENT TO PICK UP HIS FIANCE, WHILE THEY WERE IN THE CAR WAITING FOR HER THEY STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING AND THEN THEY SAW SMOKE. THEY GOT OUT AND OPENED THE HOOD, THE ALTERNATOR WIRES WERE ON FIRE. HE PUT IT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING PICKED IT UP AFTER I WENT THERE TO TELL THEM ABOUT IT. I HAD ALREADY REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN MOTOR NORTH AMERICA. WE WERE TOLD THAT WHEN THE CAR WAS SEND BACK FOR THE RECALL ON THE MOTOR THAT THEY FORGOT TO TIGHTEN THE NUT UP ON THE ALTERNATOR AND THAT WAS WHAT STARTED THE FIRE WAS AN ARC. THEY ASSIGNED IT TO A CONSUMER AFFAIRS PERSON. WE HAD TO TAKE IT BECAUSE HE HAD NO OTHER WAY TO WORK. WE DIDN'T LOOK AT IT UNTIL LATER THAT NIGHT IT WAS FOUND THAT ALL THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE WAS TAPED ALL THE NAKED WIRES THAT HAD MELTED, AND LEFT THE SINGED ONES ON THERE. T *NM
I HAVE AN 2006 NISSAN SENTRA AND I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 3000 MILES SON IT. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK AND THE ENGINE WOULD MAKE TICKING SOUND. I TOOK IT IN TO SANTA MONICA NISSAN 5 TIMES AND THEN THE FINALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND FOR A 4 MONTH OLD CAR IT SHOULDN'T NEED BRAKES. THE BRAKES DON'T MAKE ANY NOISE BUT THE ENGINE STILL MAKES TICKING SOUND BUT NISSAN DOES THE SAME REMEDY EVERY TIME, CHANGE THE ENGINE BELTS. APPARENTLY THAT'S NOT WORKING AND WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE BUT I WAS ON HOLD FOR 1 HOUR AND THEN I HUNG UP. NISSAN NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS. REMEMBER THE BRAKES ARE FNE NOW ITS JUST THE ENGINE THAT MAKES TICKING SOUNDS. THEY BETER FIX THIS. *JB
HIGH BEAMS UN SAFE TO DRIVE ON MY NISSAN SENTRA. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER CHANGING THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE, THE OIL CAP WAS REMOVED AND OIL WAS OBSERVED SPURTING FROM THE TANK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION.
I BOUGHT MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA IN MAY 2006, AND THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT CONTINUES TO FALL OUT. IN ALL THE CARS THAT I HAVE HAD, I NEVER HAD A GLOVE COMPARTMENT FALL OUT. *NM
MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE VICTIMS OF TOYOTA'S RECKLESS NEGLIGENCE. IN MAY 2006 I HAD A BRAND NEW NISSAN SENTRA AND I PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY ACROSS FROM MY APARTMENT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR ACCELERATED AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS POSSESSED. IT SPED PROBABLY 70-80 MPH AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE. LUCKILY, FOR ME THE CAR RAMMED INTO THE CONDO OF THE DRIVEWAY I PULLED IN. MY AIRBAGS POPPED OUT AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR WITH ONLY A CUT ON MY FOREHEAD. MY NEIGHBOR WITNESS THE WHOLE THING. WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME THEY LOOKED AT THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT I WAS ALIVE AND NOT BADLY HURT. I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THE OTHERS WITH THE SAME CAR HAD EXPERIENCE THIS. I TRIED TO CONTACT NISSAN, I EVEN HIRED AN ATTORNEY. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAID THE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. WELL, I KNOW THAT THIS CAR WAS DEFECTIVE AND IF NOT FOR THE CONDO I WOULD HAD DIED. NOW THAT THIS EVENT HAS HAPPENED WITH TOYOTA I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. MIND YOU I'M STILL PAYING FOR THE CAR THAT IS TOTALED. *TR
MY 06 NISSAN SENTRA, THAT I PURCHASED TO REPLACE THE TAURUS THAT THE FRAME FAILED HAS A PROB. WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL-- WHEN IN CRUISE, GOING DOWN THE ROAD, WHEN IT NEEDS TO KEEP UP TO SPEED, IT SHIFTS DOWN TWO GEARS, INSTEAD OF ONE, AND THE SPEED INCREASES FASTER THAN IT SHOULD, AND THEN IT SHIFTS UP ONE GEAR, THEN BACK TO DRIVE-- THERE TIMES WHEN IF THE DRIVER IS NOT USED TO IT-IT GAINS ON THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT, FASTER THAN ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE DRIVEN, AND IF THE DRIVER IS NOT VERY ATTENTIVE IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR AT LEAST SCARE THE DRIVER, AND CAUSE THEM TO OVER REACT, IN MY OPINION. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.. WE DO NOT THEREFORE USE THE CRUISE-- THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW-- AND WHEN I CALLED NISSAN AND THE DEALER, THEY SAID IT PROB. WAS NORMAL, NOT A GOOD ENOUGH ANSWER, IN MY OPINION-- IT IS ALMOST AS BAD AS THE TOYOTA PROB. AND I THINK IT IS ALL IN THE ELECTRICAL SET UP, WHICH I THINK IS GOING TO BE THE DOWNFALL OF THE MODERN CARS. IT WAS NOT NECESSARY TO COMPLICATE SOMETHING THAT WAS WORKING RIGHT FOR YEARS, AND NOT THEY WANT TO MAKE THE BRAKES ELECTRIC. TO MUCH ELECTRIC JUNK TO GO BAD AND CAUSE PROBLEMS, AND ALL SO THE VEH,'S HAVE TO BE TAKEN INTO THE DEALER OR SHOP. TO HAVE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS, AND CAUSE PROB'S WITH INSPECTIONS ALL THE TIME, ALSO EXPENSIVE, AND NOT WARRENTED THANKS *TR
NISSAN SENTRA 2006 4 DOOR SEDAN EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I PURCHASED VEHICLE AT THE END OF APRIL AND I SPENT $2000 ON A GAS WITHIN 4 MONTHS. NISSAN COMPANY WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOT GIVING ME A REFUND. PLEASE HELP ME WHAT TO DO?. *JB
THE OTHER DRIVER MADE A IMP LEFT TURN AND I HIT HIS 2006 F150 TRUCK WITH 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 TO 45 MILES PER HOUR. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DI-DEPLOY. MY AUTO IS AT MIKE SHAD NISSAN BEING REPAIRED FOR PHYSICAL DAMAGE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN TO CHECK THE AIR BAGS OUT I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ABOUT 6 WEEKS BEFORE THE REPORT WOULD BE COMPLETE. I'M JUST A SCARED TO DRIVE AN AUTO IF THE AIR BAGS ARE DEFECTED. I WANT TO KNOW BEFORE I DRIVE THE NISSAN BACK OFF THE LOT. THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE SHOULD BE REPAIRED IN ABOUT 6 DAYS. *NM
ABOVE ABOUT 35 OR 42F THE AIR COND RUNS IF THE AIR SELECTOR IS POSITIONED ON ANY SELECTION THAT INCLUDES DEFROST, AND THE ONLY WAY TO TURN THIS OFF IS TO TURN THE AIR SELECTOR TO A POSITION THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN DEFROST, PULL OVER, STOP THE VEHICLE, TURN THE IGNITION OFF, THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. I AM NOT MISTAKEN, I AM POSITIVE OF THIS. THIS IS NOT GREEN, THE AIR IS OFTEN RUNNING ALL DAY WASTING GAS MILEAGE PUTTING MORE POLLUTION IN THE AIR. HEATER MUST BE TURNED ON TO COMPENSATE FOR THE COOLING EFFECT OF THE AIR CONDITIONER. *TR
REAR PASSENGER BRAKE DOES NOT ADJUST CORRECTLY AND OVER TIGHTENS. WHEEL MAY BECOME COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. BRAKE PAD SHOWS MOST WARE ON TOP FRONT PORTION OF SHOE THAT IS APPLIED BY THE PARKING BRAKE MECHANISM. SINCE NEW CAR HAS ALWAYS MADE CHIRPING NOISES WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE. ALL OTHER BRAKES ON CAR ARE STILL COMPLETELY GOOD EXCEPT THIS ONE. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET EXPRESSING THE SAME CONCERN. *TR
