THERE WERE VERY SERIOUS INJURIES AND THE CONTACT WAS FLOWN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO EXTON NISSAN (200 W LINCOLN HWY, EXTON, PA 19341) AND REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED LOSING ACCELERATION AND EVENTUALLY STALLED. WE WERE IN THE LEFT HAND LANE AND LUCKILY MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE WE WERE GOING DOWNHILL. IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE A FAULTY FUEL PUMP AT 57,749 MILES.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES AND CONTUSIONS THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
PURCHASED NISSAN SENTRA 2013 FIVE MONTHS AGO AT 47,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED 3 TIMES IN 4 MONTHS. THE FIRST 1 TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED, TRAFFIC WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO PULL OVER IN TIME. IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS PUSHED TO THE SIDE AFTER PEOPLE PULLED OVER. THE SECOND TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE WHEN THE CAR DECELERATED. TOWED BOTH TIMES. THE 3RD TIME I WAS PULLING INTO A REST STOP A SAFE AREA. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR BACK UP BUT IT JERKED TO THE GARAGE. I WILL BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND MY WARRANTY WILL BE OVER, I AM AMAZED THAT A CAR COMPANY IGNORES THIS WITH HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS.
WHEN THE CAR SPED SOMETIMES BEGINS TO VIBRATE THIS DOES AT STARTUP UNTIL 15 MILES AND THEN THE CAR WORKS NORMALLY. IT IS AS IF IN THIS SITUATION START TO HAPPEN. BY PUTTING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
CAR WOULDNT START BUT PANEL LIGHTS CAME ON. JUMPED STARTED CAR AND IT WORKED FINE FOR A WHILE THEN SAME ISSUE DAYS LATER, NISSAN REPLACED THE BATTERY AND WORKED FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN SAME ISSUE BOUGHT ANOTHER BATTERY AND NEXT TIME CAR WOULDNT START IT MADE THE CLICK SOUND LIKE THE ALTERNATOR WAS BAD BUT ITS TESTED FINE.IM TIRED OF HAVING TO CHARGE THE BATTERY JUST SO I WONT GET STRANDED. NISSAN DEALER CLAIMS CAR HAS TO BE DRIVEN AT LEAST 20 MILES PER DAY TO KEEP BATTERY CHARGED. NEVER HAD THAT ISSUE WITH MY 1989 SENTRA BUT IT HAD OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES
LEFT REAR TAIL LIGHT WAS BROKEN, MOISTURE AFFECTED PROPULSION CAUSING AN IMMEDIATE INABILITY TO SUSTAIN ANY ACCELERATION ALMOST RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
WHILE IN MOTION, AN ODD "CREAKING" NOISE WAS EMITTING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL. THIS NOISE, WHILE SIMILAR, WAS NOT THE SAME AS NTB-13-031A, AS THE FIX FOR THAT TSB HAD BEEN DONE ALREADY. THE NOISE WAS REPORTED, AND THE TECHNICIAN FOUND THAT THE HARDWARE FOR THE REAR BRAKE HAD BEEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED. IT WAS STATED THAT THE PAD WAS NOT HOUSED AND WAS ESSENTIALLY SIDEWAYS. BECAUSE OF THIS, THERE WAS EFFECTIVELY 0% BRAKING OCCURRING ON THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE THE ENTIRE REAR BRAKING MECHANISM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED AT APPROXIMATELY 36,000 MILES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V068000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
MY CAR DOSE NOT ACCELERATE RIGHT SINCE A MONTH AGO. CAR WENT DEALER 3TIMES. 1ST TIME , I GO TO DEALER WITH RECALL LETTER ABOUT CVT. THEN PROBLEM STILL DO IT. 3DAYS LATER,THEY DID TEST DRIVE AND REPROGRAM FOR TRANSMISSION,,,,, STILL HAD PROBLEM. 2DAYS LATER ,AGAIN 3RD TIME TO GO DEALER. THEY GAVE TO ME CAR WITH NO PROBLEM. THAT'S NISSAN TOLD US. IT DOESN'T DO EVERY TIME,YET. BUT IT FEELS OLD CAR. I COULD NOT GO AFTER STOP LIGHT ,COULD NOT GO OVER 2000X WHILE RUNNING SOMETIMES. I STILL HAVE PAYMENT,TOO.THEY SHOULD CHANGE CAR OR CHANGE SOMETHING.
TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SHIFT SMOOTHLY. JERKS AT HIGH OR LOW SPEEDS. RPMS REV UP PAST 5 WHICH REQUIRES ME TO RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR FOR VEHICLE TO SHIFT. AS OF JAN 3 2019. AIR BAGS WERE FIXED DURING RECALL. IN 2016. HOWEVER LIGHTS CAME ON IMMEDIATELY AND NEVER WENT OFF. DEALER CONTINUES TO WANT ME TO PAY FOR REPAIRS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE ACCELERATION FAILURE AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF AN AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR RECALL. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE PER THE RECALL, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE RECALL INFORMATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 10 mph, he heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was driven to his residence. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
INTELLIGENT KEY FOB INTERMITTENT START/STOP OF VEHICLE. WENT TO START MY CAR AFTER DINNER AND IT WOULD NOT START.NO ACTIVITY WHEN PRESSING THE INTELLIGENT KEY FOB. STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT ,CALLED MY SPOUSE AND THEN HE CAME WITH A SPARE FOB, SAME THING, NO START.TURNED FOB AROUND PER OWNERS MANUAL AND CAR STARTED BUT KEY WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ALL THE WAY HOME. READ MANUAL AND MADE SURE ALL CAVEATS WERE NOT THE ISSUE. WINTER WEATHER NIGHT OUTSIDE, CAME HOME AND PULLED CAR IN THE GARAGE, WAITED AN HOUR AND TRIED TO START CAR, NO PROBLEM STARTED FINE. WENT OUT NEXT MORNING AND CAR STARTED FINE AFTER TWO STOPS, AT THIRD STOP WOULD NOT START AGAIN. USED PROCEDURE SUGGESTED IN OWNERS MANUAL AND CAR STARTED. DROVE TO FINAL DESTINATION AND NO KEY WARNING LIGHT FLASHING. WENT ONLINE AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS OF DEALER RELATED ISSUES WITH REPLACEMENT OF A STEERING LOCK SWITCH TO CURE PROBLEM, (AT A COST OF AROUND 800 - 900 DOLLARS), AT THE CAR OWNERS EXPENSE. FOUND SOME OTHER INFO ONLINE SUGGESTING THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM MANUFACTURER ON THIS ITEM. HAVE NOT YET RESEARCHED THAT CLAIM. ALSO SOME SUGGESTIONS TO INFORM NHTSA TO START A RECALL PROCESS FOR THIS AS IT SEEMS TO BE WIDESPREAD WITH THIS MAKE AND OTHER MODELS OF THIS MANUFACTURER. I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT IN THE HOPES THAT OTHERS WILL ALSO AND GET A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS. WILL CONTACT A LOCAL DEALER FOR MORE INFO ON STATUS OF MANUFACTURER. TWICE IN 24 HRS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS SYSTEM AND IT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BY NHTSA.
IN THE EVENING OF 12/23/2015 WHEN ENTERING FREEWAY 101 IN CA AT THE GILROY ENTRANCE, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN MY VEHICLE IN ORDER TO REACH THE FREEWAY SPEED OF 65 MPH. WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR I DIDN'T GET THE ACCELERATION GOING AND I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN JERK MOTION IN THE CAR. THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE UP TO THE 65 MPH AND I HAD TO ENTER THE FREEWAY AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 40-50 MPH. IF A DRIVER HAD BEEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY BEHIND ME AT REGULAR ACCELERATION, PROBABLY HE WOULD HAD CRASH INTO MY CAR. AFTER NOTICING THE LACK OF ACCELERATION, I FELT THE CAR TRIED TO CHANGE GEARS BUT DIDN'T, EXPERIENCING MORE JERKING WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY FOR 13 MILES, I EXIT THE FREEWAY AND THE CHECKENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME AND NEXT DAY DRIVE TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC FOR A QUICK CHECKUP. THE LOCAL MECHANIC DID A COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS AND DETERMINED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOID. MY CAR HAS ONLY 73,179 MILES AND IS IS PRETTY UNUSUAL THAT SUCH A DRIVEN VEHICLE FAILS AT THIS MILEAGE. 2 MORE DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN WITH THE COMPUTER DESCRIPTION STATING CLUTCH PRESSURE DISENGAGEMENT PERFORMANCE. TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVELS FINE. THIS KIND OF FAILURE IS INADMISSIBLE IN A CAR THIS OLD AND VERY DANGEROUS IN A HIGHWAY SCENARIO.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR CUTS THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,853.
AN ENGINEER SAID THAT CAR HAD BEEN OVERHEATING IN THE TRANSMISSION FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. MY SERVICE TEAM DID NOT KNOW ABOUT IT. THE CAR FAILED AT 89,000 MILES AND A MONTH BEFORE I OWNED IT 3 YEARS. THE ENGINEER SAID THAT EVERY 50000 MILES THE 2013 SENTRA NEEDS A $4000 PLUS NEW TRANSMISSION. I TURNED THE CAR ON AFTER PARKING AND WHILE TURNING THE CAR EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCERATE AT ALL AND MADE CHUNKING NOISES. I PARKED THE CAR AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. THE CAR HAD TWO MAJOR CHECKUPS AT THE DEALERSHIP JULY-AUGUST AND WAS ASSURED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. ENGINEER SAID IT HAD BEEN OVERHEATING DURING THE TIME OF THE MAJOR CHECK UP. NISSAN TECH AT SERVICE CENTER SWORE MY CAR WAS IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION.

THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON, WE'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO NISSAN NUMEROUS TIMES FOR REPAIR ALL WITHIN WARRANTY PERIOD AND STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED. MY MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE WAS WITH A REGIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS AGENT NAMED IVAN WHO TOLD ME "WE'VE WASHED OUR HANDS OF IT AND WON'T HELP YOU ANYMORE". A TECHNICIAN AT DON WILLIAMSON NISSAN IN JACKSONVILLE NORTH CAROLINA TOLD MY WIFE AS SHE PICKED THE CAR UP THE LAST TIME FROM THE SERVICE CENTER THAT THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY WITH AN ADULT IN THE SEAT BECAUSE SOMETHING CALLED THE OCS WAS PROGRAMMED WRONG. I WON'T DISCLOSE HIS NAME SINCE HE WAS HELPFUL IN INFORMING US OF THE ISSUE. I ASKED AN AGENT ON THE PHONE JUST SECONDS AGO IF IM SUPPOSE TO WAIT UNTIL WE HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND SOMEONE GETS INJURED BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AND SHE REPLIED, " I GUESS".
SLIPPING TRANSMISSION ON TAKEOFF AND DURING ANY TYPE OF ACCELERATION. WAS ABOUT CREAMED BY A TRUCK ON 301 TURNING INTO HAMPTON OAKS PARKWAY IN TAMPA FL. NO ACCIDENT, BUT ALSO HAD TRANSMISSION ENTER A DEFAULT STATE WHERE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE OVER 50MPH. DEALER HASN'T FIXED AND IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, AUTOWAY NISSAN OF BRANDON.
WITH NO WARNING, THE VEHICLE APPLIES BRAKES WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL. BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE REMAIN ACTIVE CONTINUOUSLY AFTER THIS. ONCE THIS HAS OCCURRED, THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT FLASHES AND THE TRANSMISSION IS VERY LIMITED ON POWER AT INTERMITTENT INTERVALS. IT COMES AND IT GOES WITHOUT REASON ALL THE WHILE THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN FULLY ILLUMINATED. THIS OCCURS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. IT TENDS TO BE WHILE CRUISE CONTROL IS ENABLED, BUT IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE REGULARLY DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE PROGRESSING WITH THE CVT, WHICH CAUSED A STRONG JERKING VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO SLOW TO CHANGE GEARS WHILE SHIFTING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT TO HAVE TO CHANGE GEARS FROM DRIVE INTO PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE TO TRY TO PREVENT THE FAILURE, WHICH HAD NOT WORKED IN MOST INSTANCES WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER (CONYERS NISSAN, 1420 IRIS DR. SW, CONYERS, GA 30094, (678) 233-2448) INITIALLY STATED THAT THE POWER TRAIN/TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTED THE DEALER NOT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY AND TO REPLACE THE VALVE BODY. THE VALVE BODY WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER AND, WITHIN FIFTEEN DAYS OF OBTAINING THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER, THE CONDITION WORSENED AND THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE UPON CHANGING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A WARRANTY CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER AWAITING REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERMAN NISSAN OF CHICAGO (3456 N KEDZIE AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60618) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA HAS A HARD TIME SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. I CALLED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER SHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME THAT HE SEES THIS ISSUE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. I HAVE 57,000 MILES ON THE CAR SO IT IS NO LONGER UNDER THE 3 YEAR 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. IT IS STILL UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, BUT HE SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. HE QUOTED ME $199.00 FOR THE LABOR AND $338.13 FOR THE PART (SHIFTER ASSEMBLY).
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY. I HAVE THAT ONLINE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN VEHICLES FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS. THE ONLY WAY TO OVERRIDE THE ISSUE IS TO REMOVE THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT AND INSERT A JEWELER'S SCREWDRIVER TO COMPRESS THE LOCK ALLOWING THE VEHICLE THEN TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THIS HAPPEN TO ME SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I LEARNED ABOUT THE USE OF THE SCREWDRIVER, WHEN IT FIRST STARTED THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD OCCASIONALLY FREEZE UP. I WOULD WAIT A FEW SECONDS RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD RELEASE. THE COAST TO REPAIR THIS KNOWN MANUFACTURE PROBLEM RANGES FROM $600 TO $900 WHEN YOU CALL THE DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT JUST SEEMS LIKE A DEFECT SCAM THAT NISSAN DOES NOT WANT TO RESOLVE AS THEY MAKE MONEY FIXING THEIR OWN DESIGN FLAW. THIS ISSUE OCCURS ANY TIME YOUR VEHICLE IS IN THE PARKED POSITION ON THE GEAR SHIFT. MY SON WAS DRIVING THRU A INTERSECTION THAT IS WHEN THE CAR STALLED OUT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE MACHANIC AND BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPIRAL CABLE WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPIRAL CABLE FRACTURED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
I RECENTLY TOOK MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL UPDATE WHERE THE VEHICLE DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT AND AS A RESULT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS TURNED OFF. WELL, EVEN AFTER THE SYSTEM UPDATE I KEEP HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SYSTEM STILL DOESN'T RECOGNIZE WHEN MY MOM (150 POUNDS) IS A PASSENGER AND EVEN LESS WHEN MY 120 POUND SISTER IS WITH ME. THIS IS FRUSTRATING AND SCARY BECAUSE SOON MY DAUGHTER WILL REACH THE AGE WHERE SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO RIDE ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. STARTING WHEN I DROVE IT HOME FROM DEALERS, THE RPMS GO UP AND DOWN ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING NO MATTER WHAT THE SPEED. I AM TAKING IT BACK TO DEALING NEXT WEEK FOR A CHECK UP. IS THIS A COMMON COMPLAINT?
WHEN THE VEHICLE'S GAS GAUGE IS INDICATING THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY, AFTER REFUELING THE GAUGE DOES NOT INDICATE THE CHANGE. THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW CAR, I DON'T THINK THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING ALREADY! I WILL RUN OUT OF GAS, AND IT WILL BE BECAUSE MY CAR ISN'T TELLING ME THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FUEL.
BRAKES BEGAN SQUEAKING UPON BACKING UP WITH AROUND 4000 MILES. MY PERSONAL MECHANIC PASSED INSPECTION. WITH 8800 MILES, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 15 MPH ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES AND CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, AND THEN JERKED FORWARD AS IF BRAKES FAILED. I HAD TO PUT THE BRAKES TO THE FLOOR TO SLOW DOWN AND WAS THEN ABLE TO MAKE MY TURN. I DROVE A BIT MORE WITH NO PROBLEMS, BUT THIS WAS VERY FRIGHTENING AND WILL BE CALLING DEALER IN THE MORNING FOR FURTHER INSPECTION.
I WAS COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN WHEN I PRESSED MY BRAKES AND THEY DESCENDED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LITTLE RESISTANCE. I PUMPED THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AT ABOUT 5-10MPH WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AGAIN TO SLOW THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKES GAVE LITTLE RESISTANCE AND I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES AGAIN. AS I WAS PULLED UP TO MY PARKING SPOT THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. THIS WAS A SUDDEN CHANGE AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ABOUT AN HOUR BEFOREHAND WITH NO ISSUES.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA WITH 23442 MILES. APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MONTHS AGO, MY BRAKE PEDAL STARTED ACTING WEIRD. IT CAME TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO ADJUST AND BRING MY SEAT FORWARD BECAUSE I'M TIP TOEING WHEN I BRAKE. ALSO, WHEN I'M ON FULL STOP, AFTER FEW SECONDS THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTS GOING DOWN. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND THEY TOLD ME ITS NORMAL AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING AS IT SUPPOSE TO BE. BUT I STILL DON'T THINK ITS NORMAL FOR MY CAR TO DO THAT. I PURCHASED A 2013 CERTIFIED PRE-OWENED NISSAN SENTRA IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 WITH 29K MILES AND LOVED IT, BUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO WE STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES. ANY TIME COMING TO A STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS LIKE IT HAS VERY LITTLE BRAKE PRESSURE AND THE PEDAL DEPRESSES TOO FAR DOWN ALMOST AS IF IT HAD AIR IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE PRESSING ON THE BRAKE, SECONDS LATER THE CAR STARTS MOVING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL LOOSES PRESSURE AND I HAVE TO PUSH MY FOOT FURTHER THAN NORMAL, EVENTUALLY MY FOOT IS NEAR THE FLOOR BOARD AND HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TO REGAIN BRAKE PRESSURE. THIS PROVES TO BE VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP FOR AN EMERGENCY OR ARE GOING DOWNHILL AND COME TO A STOP BEHINDE ANOTHER VEHICLE. BEING THAT THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY HAVE SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT I WAS WELCOMED TO DRIVE A NEW CAR TO SEE THAT THE ISSUE WAS CONSIDERED TO BE NORMAL OPERATION. THAT ONLY PROVES TO ME THAT THE BRAKE PROBLEM IS STILL AN ISSUE AND NISSAN HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY STILL LOOKED AT MY BRAKES AND REPLACED FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS AS A PRECAUSIONARY MEASURE BUT THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A NISSAN AND HAVE ALWAY OWNED AMERICAN MAKES, I FEEL GREATLY DISAPOINTED IN A COMPANY THAT CLAIMS TO VALUE SAFETY AND YET ALLOW THEIR CLIENTS TO BE DRIVING VEHICLES WITH SUCH A SERIOUS SAFTEY CONCERN. HAVING WORKED SERVICE FOR A DEALERSHIP IN THE PAST FOR MANY YEARS I RECOGNIZE THAT TECHNITIANS CAN HAVE THEIR HANDS TIED IF THE MANUFACTURER THAT ENGENIEERED THE VEHICLE DOESN'T PROVIDE A SOLUTION FOR THEM TO REPAIR A PROBLEM. IF YOU CAN PLEASE OPEN AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THIS MATTER AND HOPE THAT NISSAN COULD CONSIDER FINDING A SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM SOON.
AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM STOP AT A STOP SIGN, THE SENTRA WOULD NOT ACCELERATE HIGHER THAN ABOUT 10 MPH. I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, AND STILL NO ACCELERATION. AFTER A MINUTE OR SO, IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. OVER THE COURSE OF AN HOUR LONG DRIVE, THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES. ABS INDICATOR ALSO CAME ON WHEN PUSHING THE BRAKE. VDC AND SLIP LIGHTS CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. IT WILL PERFORM NORMALLY FOR A DAY OR TWO. THEN START MALFUNCTIONED AT RANDOM. TWO ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT ACCORDING TO DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH INDICATED THE "BRAKE SWITCH CODE". BRAKE SWITCH REPLACED AND VEHICLE PERFORMED NORMALLY FOR TWO DAYS THE PERFORMED WORSE THAN BEFORE PART WAS CHANGED. *TR

TOTAL TRANS MISSION FAILURE 2 TIMES. ONCE AT 60K MILES, COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WENT IN BEFORE WARRANTY WAS OVER AND COMPLAINED ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION. THEY RAN A TEST AND SAID IT WAS FINE AND SENT ME HOME. TOLD ME THAT WAS THE WAY IT DRIVES AND IT'S FINE. I DONT EVEN THINK THEY DROVE IT OR THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TAKEN TO A NEW DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000.

THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BUT THIS WAS AT ONLY 20K MILES. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO A FEW VEHICLES, BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS THAT MY CAR SLAMMED INTO LOW GEAR ON THE FREEWAY. IT SCARED MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.
