AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR BEGAN TO JERK. I COULD NOT GAIN ANY SPEED AND ALMOST CAUSE TWO ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT JERKED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAN SUDDENLY BECOME UNRESPONSIVE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE SPEED AND THE ENGINE TO SLOW OR NEARLY STALL. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN DRIVING, AT ALL SPEEDS FROM A STANDING STOP TO HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS ISSUE SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO THE RECALL FOR 908,000 NISSAN VEHICLES FOR ACCELERATOR PEDAL PROBLEMS IN EARLY 2013. I THINK THAT RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO NISSAN MODELS SOLD IN THE USA. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AT MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE SO FAR, AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED.
MY FUEL GAUGE IS FAULTY. WHEN I FILL MY TANK UP, WITHIN 50 MILES OF DRIVING, THE GAUGE READS THAT I HAVE 0 GAS AND THAT I NEED TO FILL UP AGAIN. THIS HAS LEFT ME GUESSING WHEN I NEED TO FILL MY TANK UP AGAIN BASED ON MILEAGE THAT I DROVE AND DAYS SINCE I LAST FILLED UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES AND WAS DESTROYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
ABOUT A FEW HOURS AFTER I SIGNED THE PAPERWORK AND DROVE OFF OF THE LOT WITH MY CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE, I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND (REAR BRAKES). I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER THAT DAY AND THEY CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS PROBABLY DEBRI DUE TO THE SNOW AND SAND ON THE ROADS. I DIDN'T HEAR THE SOUND AGAIN UNTIL MARCH, WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE CENTER AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I HAD THEM CHECK THE BRAKES AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS SOMETHING BALL BEARINGS, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. BOTTOM LINE, IT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP IN MAY, WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE "KIT." THEY TOLD ME THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE ANYMORE PROBLEMS. I, IN FACT, DID HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. JUNE 1ST I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOR A BRAKE ISSUE, THEY TOOK THE REAR SYSTEM APART INCLUDING THE WHEELS, ETC. THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, AND TO BRING IT BACK IF I HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN. WELL, TODAY, I DROVE THE CAR AND THE GRINDING IN THE BRAKES IS WORSE THAN I'VE EVER HEARD IT BEFORE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER TOMORROW, TO SEE IF THEY CAN GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME. MY FRUSTRATION LEVEL IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH. I'M ANNOYED WITH THE SOUND AND I AM SURE EVERYONE AROUND ME WHO HAS TO HEAR IT, BUT I AM ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHEN WE ARE IN THE VEHICLE.
I PURCHASED A PRE-OWNED NISSAN AND WHEN I DROVE IT THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THE CAR WOULD LEAK FLUID. I TOOK IT IN TO NISSAN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS LOW ON BRAKE FLUID AND NEEDED TO BE REFILLED. THEY REFILLED IT AND ASSURED ME IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THREE WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING BEGAN TO HAPPEN. I TOOK IT BACK TO NISSAN AND THEY SAID THE BRAKE FLUID NEEDED TO BE REFILLED, WHICH DID NOT MAKE SENSE BECAUSE THE BRAKE FLUID SHOULD NEVER LEAK. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY FOUND OUT THAT MY ABS ACTUATOR WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS PART SHOULD NEVER BREAK, ESPECIALLY IN A CAR THAT IS SO NEW. FOR THREE MONTHS I WAS DRIVING AROUND A DANGEROUS CAR, AND MY BRAKES COULD HAVE GIVEN OUT AT ANY MOMENT. I'VE LOOKED ONLINE AND NISSAN HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THEIR BRAKES, AND THERE WERE SEVERAL NISSAN CUSTOMERS WHO SHARED THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME. *TR
2013 NISSAN SENTRA AIR BAGS:FRONTAL THE AIRBAGS IN THE CAR WOULD TURN OFF WHEN MY FRIEND SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THERE HAS BEEN A PREVIOUS RECALL AND THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER HAD MY SOFTWARE UPDATED THEN. I AM STILL HAVING ISSUES. *TR
WE BOUGHT A NEW 2013 NISSAN SENTRA FOR OUR DAUGHTER. IT IS ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS OLD WITH ABOUT 17,000 MILES ON IT. SHE WAS ON HER WAY HOME FROM SCHOOL, IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, AND HAD JUST ACCELERATED WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO STOP AGAIN. SHE SAID SHE TRIED TO STOP BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE. THEN SHE TRIED PUMPING THEM AND THEY LOCKED UP AND THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP. SO, SHE REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER AND BOTH OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR WITH HER AND THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE DIDN'T THINK THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN HIS EXPERIENCE WORKING ACCIDENTS. THERE WAS HARDLY ANY VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE CARS INVOLVED. MOST OF THE COST TO REPAIR IT WAS FROM THE AIRBAGS. I CONTACTED NISSAN BECAUSE I LEARNED THAT THE NHTSA WAS INVESTIGATING THESE CARS FOR BRAKE PROBLEMS. I REQUESTED AN INSPECTION AND THEY SENT A "THIRD PARTY" INVESTIGATOR TO RETRIEVE THE DATA OFF THE EDR AND INSPECT THE CAR. OF COURSE, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THE DATA DID NOT SHOW ANY BRAKE FAILURE. ACCORDING TO NISSAN THEY FIND "NO BASIS TO OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER AT THIS TIME". I JUST WANT THEM TO ADMIT THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG AND BUY BACK THIS CAR. WHAT PARENT IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PUT THEIR CHILD BACK IN THAT CAR? BESIDES THAT, SHE'S SCARED AND REFUSES TO DRIVE IT. I DON'T THINK IT'S A COINCIDENCE THAT OTHER PEOPLE, EVEN THOUGH IT'S JUST A FEW, ARE DESCRIBING THE SAME THING THAT SHE DID. I GUESS THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CPU NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WERE INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY AND THE CPU COULD NOT BE REPROGRAMMED. THE CONTACT FELT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,686.
STRONG PULSATION IN BRAKE SYSTEM WHEN PEDAL IS DEPRESSED FOR A TIME PERIOD AT STOP LIGHT. STRONGER PULSATION IF WHEEL IS TURNED TO MAKE A TURN AT A LIGHT WHILE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. THE AFOREMENTIONED HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS AT REST AT A LIGHT OR IN REVERSE AND BRAKES ARE APPILED . ALSO PEDAL MUST BE PUMPED TO STOP CAR AND BRAKES SEEM TO CATCH AND THEN RELEASE AND CATCH AGAIN WHEN STOPPING ,THIS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO PUMP BRAKES TO STOP CAR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION ON STREET . THIS NISSAN HAS HAD BOTH THESE PROBLEMS SINCE 20,000 MILES APPROX.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 15 AS WE LEFT SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. IN THE CAR WAS MY ADULT DAUGHTER AND MY TWO GRANDDAUGHTERS, AGES 1 1/2 AND 10 MONTHS. I WAS AHEAD OF HER IN OUR NISSAN PATHFINDER. SHE CALLED MY PHONE AND SAID THAT THE CAR RPM'S WERE FLUCTUATING AND THAT THE CAR WASN'T GOING TO MAKE IT HOME TO TWENTYNINE PALMS. WE PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY IN ESCONDIDO. I CHECKED THE SENTRA AND FOUND THAT IN IDLE AND PARK THAT THE ENGINE RAN FINE. WHEN I DROVE THE CAR, IT WAS LURCHING LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T SHIFTING CORRECTLY. AFTER CHECKING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, I DROVE TO A WELL LITE PARKING LOT AND WHILE THE FAMILY ATE, I CALLED AAA AND HAD THE SENTRA TOWED TO MOSSY NISSAN OF ESCONDIDO. ON MONDAY THE 22ND, MY WIFE CALLED MOSSY NISSAN AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY CALLED HER BACK SAYING THAT IT WASN'T THE TRANSMISSION, THAT A SENSOR HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF OF THE MANIFOLD BY HER HUSBAND OR OUR MECHANIC. SHE ASSURED THEM THAT SINCE THE CAR WAS ONLY 13 MONTHS OLD AND UNDER WARRANTY, NO MECHANIC HAD WORKED ON THE CAR AND THAT I HAD ONLY DONE THE OIL CHANGES, BUT HAD NOT WORKED ON THE ENGINE. MOSSY NISSAN SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY SINCE THE SENSOR IN THE MANIFOLD WAS REMOVED. I CALLED MOSSY NISSAN AND TOLD THEM THAT I HAD NOT WORKED ON THE ENGINE, THAT NO MECHANIC HAD WORKED ON THE ENGINE AND THAT THE SENSOR HAD TO HAVE FALLEN OFF THE CAR WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT ON THE FREEWAY. THEY REFERRED ME TO NISSAN USA, WHICH SAID THE SAME THING; THAT SINCE THE SENSOR WAS MISSING, THEY HAD NOTHING TO TURN IN FOR WARRANTY, SO THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. THE PRICE TO REPAIR THE CAR WAS OVER $700, AS THEY SAID I NEEDED A COMPLETE MANIFOLD WITH THE SENSOR ATTACHED. AFTER REPEATED CALLS, MOSSY NOW SAID THAT MY CAR WILL BE REPAIRED BY 1/17/15 AND THE PRICE WILL BE UNDER $500 BECAUSE I HAD TO WAIT FOR A PART FROM THE FACTORY. *TR
I PREVIOUSLY FILED COMPLAINT, BUT WAS NOW TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT AFTER THE MANIFOLD WAS REPLACED, THAT THE TRANSMISSION ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MORE WAITING TIME, MORE UNANSWERED PHONE CALLS, MORE POOR SERVICE FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE SENTRA BROKE DOWN ON 12/20/14 AND I'LL FINALLY BE ABLE TO PICK UP MY CAR ON 1/24/15. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
THE CAR WHEN IS IN A COMPLETE STOP, MAKES A LAUD SOUND. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WANT TO COME OUT OF GEAR. THE SHIFTER GET LOCK, IT GETS REALLY HARD TO CHANGE THE GEARS FROM (P TO D) IS HAS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIME MORE THAN 30 TIMES. I WENT TO PLANET NISSAN ON CENTENNIAL BLVD, LAS VEGAS NV, THE FIRST TIME LATE DECEMBER I SHOW THE WORKER. I SHOW HIM A VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM, THE VIDEO YOU CAN HEAR AND SEE WHEN THE DRIVE HANDLE GETS STUCK OR LOCK. HE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR SHOULD NOT MAKE THAT SOUND, AND HE ORDER THE PART FOR IT (THE SHIFTER).HE SAID YES AND HE SCHEDULE A APPOINTMENT FOR 1/21/15 8:00. WHEN I PICK MY CAR UP,I WENT HOME AND PARK MY CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY IT MADE THE SOUND AGAIN, THEN I PARK THE CAR IN THE STREET, AND THEN MADE THE SOUND AGAIN AND THE DRIVE HANDLE GOT LOCK. I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TEST DRIVE IT WITH THE WORKER AND HE SAID IT WAS NORMAL. THAT ALL CARS MAKE THAT SOUND WHEN THEY ARE PARK IN A HILL. I TOLD HIM MY DRIVEWAY IS NOT A HILL AND THE STREET WHERE I PARK MY CAR EVERYDAY IS NOT A HILL, WHERE I PARK AT WORK IS NOT A HILL, I WAS UNHAPPY AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. THEY DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE CAR FOR SERVICE BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEE A VISIBLE PROBLEM OR THEY NEVER FOUND A PROBLEM WHEN THEY REPLACE THE SHIFTER AND VERIFIED THE FIX. MY SISTER HAS THE SAME CAR JUST 2014 ONE YEAR DIFFERENCE AND SHE PARKS HER CAR IN THE DRIVE WAY ALL THE TIME AND IS FINE. I FELL LIKE IS THE TRANSMISSION OR GEARS I DON'T KNOW. MY CAR IS IN THE WARRANTY I EVEN PAY EXTRA 1 YEAR WARRANTY. THIS PEOPLE JUST GIVE ME THE TURN AROUND AND THEY DON'T WANT TO CHECK MY CAR. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, WHY? WHY? PURCHASED A NISSAN CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE NISSAN SENTRA 2013. MILEAGE ON VEHICLE 10014. BOUGHT VEHICLE FROM HAWTHORNE NISSAN HAWTHORNE NJ. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 7 MONTHS. BRAKES WERE SQUEAKING. MECHANIC STATES THE BRAKE PADS WERE WORN OUT ALREADY. DAMAGE WAS DOWN TO 1/2 INCH PAST THE RED MARKER. IF MY DAUGHTER WAS TO CONTINUE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD. I KNOW OTHER COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED ON THIS PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS MATTER. I AM FEARFUL FOR HER TO DRIVE IT EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR. SHE ONLY PLACED AN ADDITIONAL 3000 MILES SINCE OUR PURCHASE IN APRIL. *TR
WINDSHIELD FLUID DOES NOT SPRAY CORRECTLY AS IT SHOULD. IT GOES TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD. AT TIMES I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SPRAY FLUID ( YES...I HAVE TO CARRY A SPRAY BOTTLE WITH ME) TO ENSURE THE WINDSHIELD IS CLEAR ON DAYS THAT IT IS NEEDED. ON THE OTHER ISSUE, STEERING LOCK AFTER TAKING OUT THE KEY DOESNT WORK. LIGHT BULB ON SHIFT STICK DOESNT WORK. CAN'T SEE THE GEAR SELECTION AT NIGHT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A PROBLEM AND STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,700.
I WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE. ALSO THE CAR DID NOT BEGIN TO STOP. I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO NOTICE "NORMAL" OPERATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. I AM WORRIED IT WILL HAPPEN AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT DUE TO INOPERABLE BRAKES. *TR

DRIVING HOME ON LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY AFTER WORK, IT WAS RUSH HOUR, THE TRAFFIC MOVE SLOW. I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR AN INSPECTION AND A COMPUTER RESET. EVERYTHING WAS GOING FINE UNTIL 8/14 ON A FRIDAY NIGHT WE WERE GOING TO A FAMILY REUNION. A/C AND AIRBAGS), CHECKED BRAKE FLUID, BRAKE LINE AND MASTER CYLINDER WHICH APPARENTLY PASSED THEIR TEST. WHILE PICKING UP THE VEHICLE, WE PERFORMED A TEST DRIVE AND NOTICE THE PRESSURE WAS FINE. I WAS OPERATING A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND I PLACED MY FOOT ON BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELLED TO THE FLOOR. THEN HE SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANY MORE REPAIRS ON THE BRAKES, BECAUSE NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THEM AND SAID I SHOULD CONTACT NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. *THEY SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH A "DTS" , THEIR TECHNICAL EXPERT, TO MEET ME AT THE SAME DEALER. *THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD ONE OF THEIR MECHANICS DRIVE WITH ME WHILE THEY WAITED FOR THE DTS GUY TO COME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. MECHANIC WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME FOR MAYBE A MINUTE OR SO AND HEARD THE SOUND AS SOON AS I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND HE DETERMINED ISSUE WAS THE FRONT BRAKES. *DEALER SAID THEY WOULD ONLY LUBE THE FRONT BRAKES TO MAKE THE SOUND STOP. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THIS AND NOW THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO NOW RESURFACE THE FRONT ROTORS AND CHANGE THE BRAKE PADS. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT I AM AFRAID THIS IS NOT GOING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT'S ALL THEY ARE DOING ABOUT IT. SO AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS OF BACK AND FORTH THEY DON'T EVEN SEEM TO BE CONCERNED ON COMPLETELY CORRECTING THE ISSUE. THE MOST NOTICEABLE ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE RPM'S GETTING EXTREMELY HIGH WITH LITTLE OR NO INCREASE IN OVERALL SPEED. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE MY SPEED THE VEHICLE SLOWLY ACCELERATED UP TO 45 - 50 MPH BUT THE RPM'S REFLECTED 6,500+ BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO JERK AT THIS POINT I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO MOVE TOWARDS THE EMERGENCY LANE/SHOULDER FEARING THAT IT WOULD ABRUPTLY STOP WORKING OR LOSE MOMENTUM. THIS INSTANCE HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS DURING THIS DRIVE WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND IT SEEMED TO STOP AFTER THE SECOND TIME I PULLED OVER BUT ONLY AFTER I CYCLED THROUGH THE PARK/NEUTRAL/REVERSE/DRIVE/LOW GEARS A FEW TIMES. BASED ON THIS SECOND INSTANCE, I FEEL THIS ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE VEHICLE.
I HAVE GOTTEN 6 RECALLS FOR MY CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT 3 MONTHS AGO FROM CROWLY KIA IN BRISTOL CT. 5 OF THE RECALLS ARE FOR AIRBAGS AND 1 OF THEM IS FOR THE ELECTRICAL AND THEY ALL POPPED UP ON MY CREDIT KARMA ACCOUNT ALL IN RED, SO I'M TAKING THAT AS THEY NEED TO BE FIXED AND I HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT NON OF THEM ARE SHOWING UP IN THEIR DATA BASE BUT WHY DO I HAVE THEM ON CREDIT KARMA ALL IN RED? I HAVE THEM ALL PRINTED UP WITH THE CAMPAIGN NUMBER AND RECALL ID NUMBER AND CREDIT KARMA IS TELLING ME THAT THEY NEED TO BE FIX WHICH IS WHY THEY ARE IN RED AND NOT GREEN. PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT PASSENGER, AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD SPORADICALLY COME ON DURING A TRIP INDICATING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALER FOR RECALL WORK TO BE PERFORMED FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE SAME ISSUE AROSE AGAIN WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO NISSAN TO CHECK THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT IT MAY BE THAT I OR MY PASSENGER MAY NOT WEIGH ENOUGH FOR THE VEHICLE TO DETECT US IN THE SEAT OR IT COULD BE THE WAY THE PASSENGER SAT. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURS, WE CONFIRM PASSENGER IS SEATED PROPERLY AND OUR WEIGHT WAS NOT A PROBLEM WHEN WE HAVE BEEN SEATED AS PASSENGERS IN OTHER SIMILARLY EQUIPPED VEHICLES I HAVE DRIVEN OR RIDDEN IN. AFTER PERSISTING THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE, THEY WENT AHEAD AND TOLD ME THEY REPLACED A SENSOR IN THE SEAT. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THAT I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATING AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED. I HAVE GONE BACK TO NISSAN AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG EVERY TIME. I AM VERY CONCERNED AS THIS PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK THAT MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MALFUNCTION IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. *TR
WHILE SUPPOSEDLY "STOPPED" AT A RED LIGHT, I REALIZED I WAS ROLLING FORWARD WITH THE BRAKE DEPRESSED. I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR STOPPED. WHEN I ACCELERATED EVER SO SLIGHTLY, THE CAR BUCKED AND JOLTED FORWARD. I SLOWED TO A STOPPED WITH BARELY THERE BRAKES, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUMPED UP THE BRAKES, RAISING THE PEDAL. I HAVE NEW NISSAN SENTRA 2013 SV WITH AUTOMATIC CVT; PURCHASED THE CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2013 . MY SENTRA JUST STARTED MAKING A INTERMITTENT LOUD WHINNING NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. I TOOK THE CAR THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE MECHANIC SAID THE LOUD WHINNING NOISE WAS FROM THE ELECTRONIC STEERING AND IT WAS NORMAL. HOW CAN THIS BE NORMAL NOISE FROM A ELECTRONIC STEERING? I NEVER HEARD THE LOAD WHINNING NOISE UNTIL 22 MARCH 2014. NOISE CAN BE HEARD INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF CAR WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS. THE CAR ONLY HAS 71 MILES ON IT AND IS GARAGE KEPT. I SURFED THE WEB AND FOUND THAT SOME NISSAN ALTIMAS ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THE LOUD INTERMITTENT WHINNING NOISE FROM THE ELECTRONIC STEERING. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE ID# 14055152 ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS INTERMITTENT LOUD WHINNING NOISE FROM THE ELECTRONIC STEERING AND IS REFUSING TO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. EXPLODED SUNROOF I WOKE UP ONE MORNING TO A COMPLETELY SHATTERED SUNROOF. THE SUNROOF WAS BLOWN UP. I CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY EXPLAINED THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE. I ALSO CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN WHICH I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY ALSO NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE. I WAS ASKED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH THEN THE SUNROOF THEN BLEW OUT. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE SUNROOF. I GOT MOST OF THE DAMAGE COVERED BY MY INSURANCE BUT THIS SHOULD OF BEEN COVERED BY NISSAN AS THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE SUNROOF. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN MINOR CRASHES ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE WAY IT WAS DESIGNED. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP THE FRONT WINDSHIELD FROM FOGGING UP OR ICING UP WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE DEFROSTER DOES NOT ALLOW ENOUGH HEAT TO BLOW ON THE WINDSHIELD TO KEEP IT CLEAR DURING DRIVING, CAUSING THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY TO BE OBSTRUCTED AND MAKING IT A SAFETY HAZARD. DUE TO THE FACT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH HEATED AIR BLOWING ON THE WINDSHIELD, A LARGE SECTION OF THE CORNERS (ESPECIALLY THE PASSENGER SIDE) BECOMES COATED WITH FOG OR ICE, OBSCURING VISION. THE RIGHT WINDSHIELD WIPER EVEN BECOMES COATED WITH A LARGE CHUNK OF ICE ON THE TIP, CAUSING IT TO STOP WIPING THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. ON A LONG TRIP, THE DRIVER HAS TO STOP THE VEHICLE TO MANUALLY CLEAN THE WIPER AND WINDSHIELD ON THE RIGHT SIDE OR CONTINUE DRIVING WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SEE CLEARLY. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS AN OPTION, ESPECIALLY IF DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE WHERE THERE IS NO SAFE PLACE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE DRIVEN IN A COLD CLIMATE (LIKE WINTERTIME IN THE USA). ANOTHER SAFETY RISK I HAVE RUN INTO WITH THIS VEHICLE IS THE PLACEMENT OF THE GAS TANK RELEASE BUTTON. IN ORDER TO REACH THE BUTTON, ONE HAS TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR AND REACH DOWN UNDER THE FRONT DASHBOARD TO POP THE GAS TANK. THIS MAKES THE DRIVER VULNERABLE TO ANYONE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHO MAY WANT TO ATTACK OR ROB THE DRIVER FROM BEHIND WHILE THEIR DOOR IS OPEN AND THEY ARE BENDING FORWARD. *TR
