TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOWN CENTER NISSAN (2310 BARRETT LAKES BLVD, KENNESAW, GA 30144, (770) 423-9691) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND GEAR SHIFT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
BRAKES GO OUT EASY/BOTTOM OF CAR IS A TOTAL MESS AND NON STOP PROBLEMS.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON IN THE DASH BOARD AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED IN THE CAR.
WE BOUGHT OUR 2013 NISSAN SENTRA IN 2015 FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THE PRICE TAG WAS SOMEWHERE AROUND 20-22 GRAND. I WAS EXPECTING THAT WE WOULD BE KEEPING THIS CAR FOR 10+ YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY, NISSAN FAILED TO TELL US ABOUT THE CARS FAILING TRANSMISSION WHEN THEY SOLD US THE CAR. WHILE DRIVING ON A DAILY BASIS, THE CAR WOULD ODDLY PULL. BUT WHEN TEST DRIVING THE CAR WE WERE ASSURED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL AND CAUSED BY THE CVT TRANSMISSION. 3 1/2 YEARS LATER WHILE I WAS RUNNING A NORMAL ERRAND IN TOWN, THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE. I TRIED PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC ON A HEAVILY TRAFFICKED ROAD AND HAD TO SWERVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE I WAS PRESSING ON THE GAS AND IT WAS NOT ACCELERATING. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE AGAIN, BUT I SLOWLY DROVE ON BACKROADS TO GET THE CAR TO THE NISSAN IN OUR TOWN. ONCE THERE, THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG AND GUESS WHAT? THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED. NOW TELL ME, WHY DOES A 5 1/2 YEAR OLD CAR ALREADY HAVE TRANSMISSION FAILURE?? WE HAVE ONLY OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 3 1/2 YEARS!! AND OUR WARRANTY RAN OUT AT 100,000 MILES. WE ARE AT 113,000. I BELIEVE THIS CAR HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES FROM THE FIRST DAY THAT WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE.I THINK THESE CARS ARE NOT RELIABLE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED! THIS CAR LOOKS PERFECT AND IS NOW WORTHLESS.
I WAS DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WHEN I TURNED A CORNER THE SEAT BELT UNBOLTED FROM THE FLOOR. *DT*JB
IVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 2013 SENTRA SR SPUTTERING RANDOMLY AND OUT OF NOWHERE SHAKES AND COMPLETLY SHUTS OFF NO MATTER THE SPEED IM DOING. WHICH HAS ME CONCERNED AS THIS IS BECOMING A BIG SAFETY ISSUE NOW THRU OUT THE YEARS ITS GOTTEN PROGGRESIVLY WORSE WITHOUT ANY DEALERSHIP BEING ABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE CAUSE THE CAR SHOWS NO WARNING LIGHTS OR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M STOPPED AND MOVING HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND SOMETIMES THE CAR WONT ACCELERATE PAST 3 RPM'S.
I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED 1 TIME ALREADY FOR IT CRACKING WITHOUT BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. IT WOULD ACCELERATE RANDOMLY AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS. I'M NOW HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND ALMOST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ON AN EXPRESSWAY BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND WHEN I GOT OFF THE MAIN ROAD IT ACCELERATED WITHOUT ME EVEN TOUCHING THE GAS PEDDLE.
STARTING AROUND 75,000 MILES, MY NISSAN SENTRA STARTED STUTTERING, STALLING, AND LOSING POWER BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION. MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA'S TRANSMISSION FAILED ON 4/11/2019 AT 83,975 MILES (1 YEAR AND 23K MILES OVER THE WARRANTY). OVER THE PAST YEAR, THIS TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN A PUBLIC AND PERSONAL SAFETY HAZARD. I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR, OR ON HIGHWAYS IN FEAR OF WHAT HAPPENED ON 4/11 WOULD HAPPEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THE FACT THAT SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT AND EXPENSIVE WOULD FAIL ON A CAR SO FAST PROVES THAT THIS PART OF THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED.
VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY STOPS PULLING. I WAS ON A US STATE HIGHWAY WITH MANY VEHICLES BEHIND ME. WITHIN 18 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED OPERATING 3 TIMES RESULTING IN ME WORKING TO GET MY CAR OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER TRAFFIC. VEHICLE HAS LOW MILEAGE.
WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE IT STARTS OVER REVVING WHEN CHANGING SPEEDS ON LOCAL ROADS. I ALSO HAD A FEW INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD RANDOMLY NOT GO OVER 40 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY (POSSIBLY THE VEHICLE IS GOING INTO SOME KIND OF FAIL SAFE MODE) AND WOULD REV HEAVILY. I REACHED OUT TO NISSAN AND THEY ADVISED IT SOUNDS LIKE A CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, WHICH IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A LOT OF THE NISSAN VEHICLES. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE NOT CREATED A RECALL FOR THE 2013 NISSAN SENTRA AND ADVISED THEY DO NOT PLAN TO DO SO. *DT *JS*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE, THE RPMS INCREASED, AND THE VEHICLE JERKED AND DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED IPAC NISSAN AT 210-681-6300 (LOCATED AT 6990 NW LOOP 410, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78238) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED.
AT 70,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING. MY DAUGHTER WAS BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AND BECAME STUCK IN THE ROAD. CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR REVERSE. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE HAD NO EFFECT. EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN COUNTLESS POSTS ONLINE. CVT TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT COST QUOTED AT 4000 DOLLARS. ALMOST THE VALUE OF THE CAR.
THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE GRADUAL BREAKING LIGHT WAS ON. I NOTICED MY BACK PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT HAD MOISTER IN IT. SO I TOOK IT PO UR AND DUMPED ABOUT 5 OZ. OF WATER OUT OF IT. I BOUGHT A NEW TAILLIGHT. IT SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM NOW MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR. THE RPMS JUMP FROM 2000 TO 3000 AS IT SHIFTS AND STEADY OUT IT'S BEEN GETTING WORSE AS THE DAYS GO BY. I'M FINDING SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE BUT NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. IT HAS 83000 MILES ON IT. BECAUSE OF THE TAILLIGHT ISSUE AND IT NOT ACCELERATING I FEEL LIKE THERES SOME KIND OF WIRING ISSUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. IT'S NOT THROWING ANY CODES AND THE DEALER SAYS NOTHING'S WRONG WITH IT.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPS AT VARIOUS RPMS AND SPEEDS. TRAVELING DOWN A HILL IN THE CITY WITH A STEEP GRADE THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWN SHIFT AND THROW THE RPMS UP TO 5K WHERE YOU CAN BARELY STOP IT. IT SLIPS TO WHERE BASICALLY IT HAS NO POWER TO THE WHEELS WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH AT 3K RPMS. IT IS LIKE YOU THREW IT INTO NEUTRAL. THERE IS NO POWER TO THE WHEELS BUT ENGINE SPEED SHOOTS TO 6K RPMS AND CAR SPEED DECREASES RAPIDLY. THIS HAPPENS DAILY. SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND BEEN TOLD IT IS THE WAY THE CVT TRANSMISSION OPERATES. THAT IS A BUNCH OF MESS NO TRANSMISSION IS MEANT TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR. MY PERSONAL MECHANIC SAYS HE REPLACES 3-5 A WEEK OF THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS WITH AS LITTLE AS 40-50K MILES ON THEM. THESE THINGS ARE A DEATH TRAP. MY CAR HAS 107K ON IT AND I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE NISSAN DEALER SINCE 20K. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE THERE ARE SERIOUS INJURIES FROM THE LOSS OF POWER OF SURGING. I HAVE A 3 MONTH OLD AND THIS IS MY ONLY CAR TO GET TO WORK. DEALER WANTS 4.5K AND MECHANIC WANTS 3.8K. I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THE THING FOR ANOTHER YEAR.
IM CURRENTLY THE SECOND OWNER ON WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD VEHICLE. I HAD NO CLUE THAT SO MANY PEOPLE HAD THE ISSUES I WAS HAVING. IT STARTED TWO WEEKS AFTER I HAD PUTCHASED MY VEHICLE. I WOULD ACCELERATE LIKE NORMAL AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL TO COAST TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT L, THE LIGHT CHANGES AND TURNED GREEN. I WOULD REAPPLY MY FOOT TO THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CVT WOULD THUD SO I TOOK IT TO BE REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD "IT WAS A NORMAL FUNCTION OF A CVT" NOT KNOWING ANY BETTER AS IT WAS MY FIRST CVT TRANSMISSION I KEPT DRIVING. NOW IM TOLD MY A CVT SPECIALIST THAT THAT THUD I WAS FEELING IS THE BEGINING OF MY TRANSMISSION BRAKING AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I CANNOT SEE HOW NISSAN EXPECTS SOMEONE TO PAY FOR A PRODUCT THAT SO MANY OF ITS VEHICLES HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ONLINE COMPLANING OF THE SAME ISSUES. IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
THE CAR BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE, WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. CAR RPMS INCREASED THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. TRAFFIC RAPIDLY APPROACHING BEHIND ME.DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME OF TRANSMISSION ISSUE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. NO WARNING SIGN, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FORCED TO PULL OVER AT NIGHT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BUSAM NISSAN (1501, 3907, E KEMPER RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45246) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR LAST YEAR THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE OF GOOD GAS MILAGE AND TRANSMISSION . I HAVE BUYING NISSAN SINCE 1993 AND RIGHT NOW I HAVE 2 ALTIMAS 1 SENTRA 1 QUEST EVERY OTHER CAR IS DOING GOOD EXCEPT SENTRA I HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM ITS NOT CHANGING THE GEARS AND AC IS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR. PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THESE ISSUES BECAUSE I STILL HAVE 4 MORE YEARS OF PAYMENTS AND KNOWING NISSAN CARS THEY USUALLY GO TO 200K WITHOUT MAJOR PROBLEMS.

TAKATA RECALL WHEN I FIRST STEP IN THE CAR TO TAKE A TEST DROVE, IT SEEM LIKE IT WAS OK . IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM BUT WHEN I DROVE IT HOME , ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND IT TOOK ABOUT 60 SECOND FOR THE GEAR TO SWITCH. THE CAR SEEN AS THOUGHT IT WAS OVERHEATING WHEN I HAVEN'T EVEN DROVE IT LONG . I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND HE SAID “ I WAS COVERED WITH WARRANTY “ AND THAT “I WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PAYING ANYTHING.” HE GAVE ME A LOAN CAR AND HAVE BEEN EXTENDED IT FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS BECAUSE MY CAR STILL HAVEN'T BEEN FIX YET . I ALSO FOUND THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BY THE WARRANT BUSINESS BECAUSE THEY SAID THE CAR WASN'T IN GOOD CONDITION WHEN I BROUGHT IT. THEY DENIED THE REQUEST OF FIXING THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER REFUSES TO GIVE ME ANOTHER TEMP TAG AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE HIM PREMISES. I HAVE BEEN PAYING ON A CAR THAT I HAVE NOT HAD FOR TWO MONTHS AND I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS AN UNJUST SITUATION. I HOPE THAT THE OTHER CUSTOMERS AREN’T GETTING TREATED LIKE MYSELF .
CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS CAR WON'T SHIFT CORRECTLY WENT TO NISSAN WHO ADVISED ME THAT IT IS THE TRANSMISSION AND WOULD COST $4011.10 TO REPLACE ALSO WENT TO HOLMES MOTOR WHO IS LEASING ME THE VEHICLE FOR $17000 +$ 2000 BUY OUT OPTION AT THE END OF LEASE AND WAS TOLD 18000 MILE WARRANTY WOULD NOT APPLY BECAUSE I HAVE PUT 32000 MILES ON VEHICLE SINCE START OF LEASE..NISSAN ALSO STATED IT'S A 60000 MILE WARRANTY ON VEHICLE BUT MY VEHICLE HAS 77000 MILES WHICH I STARTED LEASING AT 44259 MILES. ALSO THIS SITUATION OCCURED WHILE I WAS DRIVING PAST THE 900 BLOCK OF DECATUR STREET MONTGOMERY ALABAMA 36104 WHEN I MADE IT TO RED LIGHT I REALEASED MY FOOT OFF GAS SLIGHTLY BECAUSE LIGHT CHANGED CAR JUMPED IN GEAR AND SLAMMED INTO BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH DIDN'T DO ANY DAMAGE TO OTHER CAR BUT KNOCKED MY BUMPER LOOSE.

VEHICLE LOOSES ACCELERATION (GAS PEDDLE PRESSED, NO RPMS, NO ENGINE REVVING) WOULD HAVE TO RELEASE GAS AND PRESS PEDDLE AGAIN A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE CAR WOULD JERK INTO ACCELERATION. ALSO, BREAK LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN CAR IS IN PARK (LIKE IF SOMEONE WAS TAPPING THE BREAKS, BUT NOBODY WAS IN THE CAR. CAR HAS ROUGHLY 66K MILES
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED & I HAD LIFETIME WARRANTY BUT NISSAN & THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T WANT TO COVER THEIR ISSUES.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ATTEMPTED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT FINISH CORRECTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
2013 NISSAN SENTRA WAS RUNNING PERFECTLY FINE, AND OUT OF THE BLUE, MY ENGINE BASICALLY FAILED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, COMPLETELY. THANKFULLY, NO CARS WERE NEAR AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE. THANKFULLY IT WASN'T ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHERE A MAJOR ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TESTED IT AND IT IS INDEED A CVT FAILURE. IT NEEDS A BRAND NEW CVT TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT, AND IS JUST OVER 5 YEARS OLD. IT IS DANGEROUS TO MYSELF AND OTHERS TO HAVE THIS CAR ON THE ROAD WITH THESE ENGINES. THERE ARE SO MANY CASES OF 2013 CVT FAILING, BUT YET NO RECALL. NISSAN NEEDS TO STEP THEIR GAME UP LIKE THEY HAVE ON PREVIOUS YEARS THAT INCLUDED CVT AND EXTEND THEIR WARRANTY. THERE IS NO REASON A PERFECT GOOD CAR SHOULD HAVE THIS PROBLEM ALREADY. THIS CAR GOES FROM POINT A TO POINT B, AS IT IS BASICALLY A WORK CAR. PLEASE, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHERS. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND UNREALISTIC, AND NISSAN IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT MANUFACTURER HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE AND TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.
CAR DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY, LOOSES SPEED ENGINE REVS HIGH.
WHILE TRAVELING ON I-95 IN MIAMI AT 55 MPH, MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING AND WOULDN'T PASS 20 MPH. I PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDDLE AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKY TO BE ON THE MIDDLE LANE AND QUICKLY SHIFTED OVER TO THE FAR RIGHT ON THE EMERGENCY LANE AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. I TURNED IT BACK IN AND IT WORKED FINE. I DIDN'T USE THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS, AND THEN WHEN I TRIED AGAIN, IT WAS GIVING THE SAME ISSUE WHERE THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND WAS MAKING A WEIRD NOISE WHICH I NEVER EXPIERNED BEFORE. I TOOK TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED IT WAS A CVT ISSUE. I HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO A CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS NISSAN AGREED TO CONSIDER POSSIBLE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. UPON COMPLETION IT WAS CONFIRMED IT WAS A CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND IT WOULD COST ABOUT $5,000 TO REPAIR WITH LABOR COSTS. NISSAN HAS TO GIVEN ME BACK MY CAR AND IT'S NOW THE 20TH OF FEBRUARY. MY CAR HAS 99,450 MILES, AND HAS BEEN IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH MY MAINTENANCE. IT'S SCARY AND UNFORTUNATE THAT WE HAVE BEEN SOLD A DEFECTIVE CAR AND NISSAN WON'T ADMIT TO IT. THE RED AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT TURNS ON DISPLAYING THAT THE AIR BAG IS NOT ENGAGED TO DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAG FUSE IS NOT WORN. THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. ALL CONNECTIONS BELOW THE SEATS ARE CONNECTED. SENSORS HAVE NOT BEEN ACTIVATED AS THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL EITHER BE ON AT THE CAR'S IGNITION, OR IT MAY TURN ON AFTER TWO OR MORE MILES WHILE DRIVING.
THE CAR JERKS AND SHAKES WHEN DRIVING AND COMPLETELY STOPS ON THE FREEWAY WHEN DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES, CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, DOOR ON DRIVER SIDE ALSO DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN DEALER IN MONTCLAIR METRO NISSAN IN CALIFORNIA, THEY STATED ITS THE TRANSMISSION AND IS IN SERVICE RIGHT NOW. BIG SAFETY HAZARD.
SHIFTING FREQUENTLY LOCKING UP WHILE DRIVING CAUSING DISTRACTION AND INABILITY TO ACCELERATE. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR IN THREATENING SITUATIONS. ON ONE OCCASION I WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE TO PASS A SEMI-TRUCK WHILE FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC CAUSING ME TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION DANGEROUSLY AVERTS MY ATTENTION FROM SAFE DRIVING.
THIS 2013 NISSAN SENTRA AND ITS CVT HAVE BEEN GARBAGE FROM THE GET-GO. THE TRANSMISSION DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR. JUST DIED ON THE ROAD, WE ARE SO LUCKY THERE WASN'T AN ACCIDENT. NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THE SENTRA TRANSMISSION DEFECT, AND THAT THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSIONS WOULD REQUIRE FREQUENT REPAIR. DESPITE THIS AWARENESS, NISSAN CONTINUED TO INSTALL THE ALLEGEDLY DEFECTIVE CVT. LOTS OF COMPLAINS WERE MADE ABOUT THIS ISSUES.
ON JANUARY 17, 2019, OUR 2013 NISSAN SENTRA DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND PUT MY HUSBAND AT RISK FOR BEING HIT. MY HUSBAND WAS ON BASELINE ROAD IN PHOENIX, CLOSE TO I-10 FREEWAY. CAR DIED NEAR DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE BY RESTAURANT. TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID IT'S CVT TRANSMISSION. SO DID OUR REPAIR PERSON, INTERSTATE AUTO. THE CODE AT NISSAN ALSO SAID IT'S A FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION, WHICH THEY KNOW ABOUT. THERE IS EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 120,000 FOR SOME VEHICLES, BUT THEY CONVENIENTLY SAID OUR VIN IS NOT COVERED. WE ARE AT 119,000, SO THAT'S CONVENIENT FOR NISSAN. WE THEN WERE REFERRED TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY ALSO SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WE WERE THE OWNERS OF THE VEHICLE. WE BOUGHT IT FROM TEMPE AUTO NATION IN MAY OF 2014, BUT IT'S A 2013 PREOWNED CERTIFIED. THEY TOLD US THE WARRANTY WAS INCREASED TO 100,000 BECAUSE OF THAT, BUT THEY NEVER LET US KNOW. THEY ALSO SAID THERE IS A RECALL FROM 2016, BUT WE NEVER GOT ANYTHING. AGAIN, NISSAN SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW WE WERE THE OWNERS UNTIL 1/21/19. THAT'S A LIE! WE'VE HAD THE CAR SERVICED. IT WAS BOUGHT FROM TEMPE AUTO NATION WITH 4400 MILES ON IT. THEY HAVE OUR INFO IN COMPUTER SYSTEM, BUT NOW CAN CLAIM THEY DID NOT KNOW. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES THAT BROUGHT IT IN, NO ONE ELSE. SO NOW THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE BECAUSE OF FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION THAT PUT MY HUSBAND AND I AT SAFETY RISK EVERY TIME HE/WE DROVE IT. ESPECIALLY NOT NOTIFYING US ABOUT PASSENGER RECALL SINCE 2016. 'TAMARA RECALL' I WAS DRIVING WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED JERKING AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS RACING UP AND DOWN, I WENT TO PULL OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS NEARLY HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK BECAUSE THE CAR HAD LOST POWER AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 5 MPH. THE TRUCK HAD TO SWERVE TO KEEP FROM HITTING ME. THIS CAR HAS A FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE OFF THE ROAD. IT HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $5000 TO FIX THAT I DON'T HAVE. AND I STILL OWE $10,000 ON THE CAR.
"MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR RECALL" AND COMPONENTS THERE OF OR INTAKE FUEL/PERFORMANCE REDUCTORS...CHECK ENGINE CODE P0101. WHILE RUNNING THE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER AND STRUGGLES TO GO FASTER ENTERING FREEWAYS OR UP HILLS ALSO HAVE TO USE MORE GAS LATELY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LIT UP...REPLACED THE PART TO NO AVAIL...LIGHT IS OFF A DAY OR TWO THEN RETURNS... WHICH MEANS ISSUE IS NOT FIXED.
MY CAR WOULD START TO JERK AS I WAS DRIVING, I WENT AND GOT IT LOOKED AT AND THE AUTO ZONE GUY SAID IT WAS THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN THE ALTERNATOR SO I HAD THAT FIXED, THEN THE MOTOR MOUNTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER ALLTHAT IT WAS STILL JERKING AND IT IS MY ALTERNATOR. I DROVE MY NISSAN OFF THE LOT WITH 298 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT BECAUSE IM AT 101K MILES EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE SECURITY +PLUS CONTRACT AND THERE IS A STIPULATION WITH KENTCUKY. THERE SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AS TO WHY A 6 YEAR OLD CAR IS HAVING SO MANY ISSUES ALL OF A SUDDEN. IT LITERRALY STARTED A MONTH AGO AND IS DUE TO BE PAID OFF IN JULY. WHEN I PULL OFF FROM STATIONARY SITTING IT JERKS, ONCE I COAST TO A GOOD SPEED AROUND 50MPH AND UP THEN IT WONT JERK BUT HESITATES AND MY RPM GAUGE JUMPS UP AND DOWN.

ONE DAY I GOT IN MY CAR WITH MY MOTHER AND IT TOLD ME THAT THE PASSAGER AIR BAG WAS OFF BUT SHE WAS SITTING IN IT. I HAD JUST TURNED IT ON AND THE DAY BEFORE THAT IT WAS FINE. ALSO THE ONE ON MY DASH SAID THAT THERE WAS A AIR BAG PROBLEM. IT WASN'T HIT OR TOUCHED IT WAS TRULY OVER NIGHT INFRONT OF MY HOUSE THEN THE LIGHTS FOR THE AIR BAG WERE ON WHEN I STARTED MY CAR.
CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED AT 90K MILES. GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALS EXORBITANT NUMBER OF NISSANS WITH CVT TRANNYS HAVE FAILED MULTIPLE TIMES. NISSAN CONTINUES TO USE CVT'S. WHY???? CAR REVS HIGH WHEN STARTED - THE LENGTH OF TIME STEADILY INCREASES. RPM'S SHOW RAPID AND SIGNIFICANT FLUCTUATION. FEARFUL TO DRIVE IT MORE THAN THE FEW MILES IT MUST BE DRIVEN BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND TO RUN ERRANDS.
TRANSMISSION DIED AFTER 25K MILES, AND NOW THE "NEW" ONE DIED AT 75K. IT ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS: DELAYED ACCELERATION, GRINDING WHEN COASTING DOWNHILL, AND SLIPPING GEARS WHILE ACCELERATING. IT THEN STARTED STALLING OUT WHEN GOING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS IN TOWN FROM A FULL STOP, AND REALLY STARTED TO DIE ON CHRISTMAS WHEN WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY (IT BECAME UNSAFE SO WE HAD TO PULL OVER AND GO HOME ON BACK ROADS). THE DEALERSHIP NOW HAS IT AND CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT ALTHOUGH IT CAN BARELY DRIVE. NISSAN CORPORATE WANTS US TO SPEND HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS ON A COMPLETE "TEARDOWN" DIAGNOSIS BEFORE THEY WILL CONSIDER IF THEY'LL COVER ANY OF IT. THE CAR IS ONLY FIVE YEARS OLD, IT NEEDS ITS 3RD TRANSMISSION, AND IT ISN'T EVEN WORTH THE AMOUNT IT WILL TAKE TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR.

FROM WHAT I READ AND TALKED WITH TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. CVT TRANSMISSIONS ARE NOT MECHANICALLY SOUND AND FAIL PREMATURELY. EVEN WHEN YOU SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION AT 30K AND 65K WITH NEW CVT FLUID. PRESENTLY MY CAR IS BEING INSPECTED BY AAMCO. I DO NOT TRUST NISSAN DEALERSHIPS.
THE VEHICLE WILL BE STUCK IN PARK WHEN BEING PUT IN REVERSE. WHEN GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. IT WOULD GO FROM 70MPH TO 0 MPH ALL OF SUDDEN. ALMOST CAUSED AN 18 WHEELER TO REAR END THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE INSTANT DROP IN SPEED. THE RPM NEEDLE JUMPS UP AND DOWN. THE CAR BEGAN SLOWING DOWN IN SECOND GEAR AND THEN JUMP INTO GEAR AND TAKE OFF. IF YOU CAN GET THE CAR INTO FIFTH GEAR IT WILL SLOW DOWN AGAIN THEN JERK INTO GEAR AND TAKE OFF. ALMOST REAR ENDED 3 PEOPLE JUST TRYING TO GET HOME. THERE ARE RECALLS FOR CVT TRANSMISSIONS IN THAT YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BUT WHEN YOU TYPE IN THE VIN NUMBER IN THERE ARE NO RECALLS. DO NOT KNOW HOW DECIDING WHICH MODELS DESERVE A RECALL AND WHICH DON'T? I FEEL THAT ALMOST BE SMASHED IN THE REAR SHOULD BE CONSIDERED SERIOUS ENOUGH FOR A RECALLL. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE BUYING A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. IT OCCURRED TRYING TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, DRIVE, ON THE HIGHWAY, IN CITY STREET AND PARKING LOTS TRYING TO PARK.

THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANY BRAKE ISSUES BEFORE MALFUNCTION (NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, NO NOISES FROM BRAKES, ETC.).

TRANSMISSION "SLIPPING", JERKING AND SHUDDERING. CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND DEALERSHIP, THEY WANT ME TO BRING IT IN TO CHECK.

CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPPING: MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA IS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH ITS CVT TRANSMISSION. MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH MY CVT COULD HAVE HARMED ME AND THE OTHER PASSENGERS IN MY CAR. MY CAR REFUSED TO ACCELERATE WHILE MAKING A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION WHILE ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS HEADING IN THE SAME DIRECTION. LUCKILY THE DRIVER NOTICED AND SLOWED DOWN PREVENTING A COLLISION.
