I BOUGHT MY CAR AS A USED CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT BAD AFTER A YEAR. WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING IT JERKS VERY UNUSUALLY BEFORE IT CHANGES GEARS AND WHEN I ACCELERATE, THE CAR'S RPM SHOOTS UP VERY QUICKLY AND COMES BACK DOWN. IT KEEPS FLUCTUATING LIKE THAT FOR THE WHOLE DRIVE. I THEN BOUGHT THE TRANSMISSION FROM A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA S WITH A VIN "[XXX]" AS A REPLACEMENT BUT THAT HAS GONE BAD AS WELL. I WAS ON A CITY STREET. AFTER STOPPING (I WAS STOPPED) AT AN INTERSECTION, I THEN PRESSED ON THE GAS TO TURN LEFT INTO THE LANE. AT THAT TIME, I HEARD A LOUD 'POP' WHICH STARTLED ME. AND THOUGH THE CAR WAS IN GEAR ('D'-DRIVE) IT WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. I SHIFTED TO REVERSE TO SEE IF IT WOULD MOVE IN THAT GEAR. I FELT THE GEAR ENGAGE AND THE CAR DID MOVE IN REVERSE. I SHIFTED BACK TO 'D'- DRIVE BUT I DID NOT FEEL THE GEAR ENGAGE NOR DID THE CAR MOVE FORWARD AT ALL. IN ADDITION TO THE FAILURE OF MY TRANSMISSION, I WAS DOUBLY BOTHERED BY THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NEVER A WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH TO SIGNAL A PENDING OR POTENTIAL PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL THE ECONOMY MODE WAS TURNED OFF. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. CAR JERKS, SHAKES, VIBRATES.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON DUE TO THE SAME AIR FLOW PROBLEM. EVERY TIME CAR IS SCANNED THE CODE COMES UP AS THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. I HAVE REPLACED THIS SENSOR. MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. MY CAR ALSO IDLES, JERKS WHEN PLACED IN PARK & HAS DECREASED FUEL EFFICIENCY. THE CAR BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE, WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. CAR RPMS INCREASED THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. TRAFFIC RAPIDLY APPROACHING BEHIND ME.
20013 NISSAN SENTRA WITH LESS THAN 75K MILES. MAKING A LEFT TURN AND HEARD A LOUD POP. LEFT FRONT BALL JOINT BROKE OFF THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAUSING THE CONTROL ARM TO SMASH THROUGH THE TIRE RIM AND RIP OUT THE AXLE FROM THE TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 5 MPH (THANK GOD!) I WOULD NOT HAVE REPORTED THIS BUT I SAW THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ANOTHER CAR. I JACKED IT UP IMMEDIATELY AND CAR WAS FLATBEDDED TO MECHANIC AND CONTROL ARMS ON BOTH SIDES, BALL JOINTS AND AXLE WAS REPLACED.
CAR STARTING JERKING AND CAME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP OUT THE BLUE AT 136,000-138,000 SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN DON'T EXACTLY REMEMBER. THE FIRST SIGH SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH CAR WAS THE RPM WOULD JUST GO UP HIGH OUT OF BLUE WHILE ACCELERATING WHICH WAS DANGEROUS AD JUST COMMING TO A STOP OUT OF NOWHERE. WE CALLED AROUND TRYING TO GET ISSUE FIXED BUT NOONE COULD HELP CAUSE THERE WAS NO LIGHT ON IN CAR TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS WRONG. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON AS OF TODAY 10/11/2019 FOR FIRST TIME EVER AT 141,000 AND CAR STOPS DOESNT PULL. DOES ON HIGHWAY, INTERSTATE AND WHILE TURNING.
BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE 2016 ABOUT SHUDDERING IF CAR AND LOSS OF POWER. I'VE HAD AN ACCELERATION ISSUE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IN 2016, REPORTED IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY SSID I WAS CRAZY UNDER 28000 MILES AT TIME. HAVE COMPLAINED SINCE NOW IN OCT 10 GOING ON PA TURNPIKE AT POSTED 70MPH LLOST ALL POWER ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR PILEUP! TRANSMISSION HAD TO TOW VEHICLE OFF HIGHWAY THEN AGAIN TOW IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP COSTIING ME OVER 500.00 IN TOWS MILEAGE UNDER 48000. KOW THEY SAY I NEED TRANSMISSION OUT OF WARRANTY MUST PAY 4000.00 TO REPAIR IT !! THIS CAR HAS BEEN A DEATHTRAP AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE ROAD.. I WANT THE GOVT TO MAKE NISSANUSA PAY FOR ALL MY REPAIRS TOWING AND GET A LIFETIME WARRANTY. MAYBE THEN THEYD FIX CAR RIGHT !! IM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. IVE BEEN ON 2 MAJOR HIGHWAYS ONE CITY STREET WHEN THIS OCCURED. INTERSTATE 5279 AND PA TURNPIKE THEN A PGH CITY STREET . I'M JUST GRATEFUL I AM ALIVE A D OTHERS WERE NOT HURT THIS PAST OCT 10 2019.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON DUE TO THE SAME AIR FLOW PROBLEM. EVERY TIME CAR IS SCANNED THE CODE COMES UP AS THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR, I HAVE REPLACED THIS SENSOR TWICE. I REPLACED THE SENSOR ON 7/8/19 APPROXIMATELY 4 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND THEN AGAIN ON 10/10/18. BEFORE REPLACING THE PART ON OCT. 10, I WAS MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. MY CAR ALSO IDLES, JERKS WHEN PLACED IN PARK & HAS DECREASED FUEL EFFICIENCY.
EVERY TIME YOU START TO OFF IT JERKS AND THEN TREMBLES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE YOU GET HESITANT JERKING AND IT FEELS LIKE IT'S SLIPPING
ON 10/01/19 MY NISSAN SENRTA STARTED EXPERIENCING JERKING AND REVVING WHICH HAS BEEN CONTINUALLY GETTING WORSE. ON 11/01/19 AN APPOINTMENT IS MADE TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION EVALUATION WITH FULL EXPECTATION OF REPLACEMENT WITH NEW TRANSMISSION.
DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEED THE TRANSMISSION CUT OUT, RPMS REV'D UP AND SPEED DROPPED EVEN WITH FULL GAS PEDAL PRESSURE. PULLED OVER SAFELY, PLACED CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED DRIVING. MINUTES LATER THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED. SUDDEN DROP OF SPEED ON HIGHWAY IS NOT SAFE AND NISSAN SHOULD STEP UP AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. SO MANY ISSUES WITH THE 2013 CVT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T STEP UP TO OFFER EXTENDED WARRANTEE OFFERS LIKE IN THE EARLIER YEARS. THIS IS MY DAUGHTER'S CAR AND SHE WILL NOT BE DRIVING THIS WHILE THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE. SUCH A SHAME AS SHE SAVED HER MONEY TO BUY THIS PRE-OWNED VEHICLE AND THE THOUGHT OF REPLACING THE TRANNY THIS SOON IS VERY UPSETTING.
RPM SHIFTS UP AND DOWN AS SPEED GOES UP. ALREDY HAD ISSUE WHEN THE MILEAGE WAS OVER 65000 AND HAD TO FIX THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE CAR WON'T SPEED UP OVER 10 MILE. NOW THE MILEAGE IS AT 120K AND ITS STARTING AGAIN. CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR!
MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA HAD NO KNOWN PROBLEMS, AND I HAD NO ICONS ON MY DASHBOARD THAT SOMETHING NEEDED ATTENTION... NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO CHECK TRANSMISSION LIGHT..NONE. AND WHEN I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO GET AN OIL CHANGE, MY CAR HAD NO SERIOUS ISSUES. AND JUST RECENTLY AS I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK BECAUSE I WAS PARKING MY CAR'S ENGINE TURNED OFF,, BUT THE RADIO WAS STILL ON. I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO TURN ON UNTIL IT DID, BUT AS SOON AS I SHIFTED TO REVERSE OR DRIVE, THE ENGINE WOULD JUST TURN OFF. AND NOW MY CAR TURNS ON BUT MAKES A WEIRD NOISE LIKE SOMETHING IS DRAGGING, BUT ENGINE REMAINS ON, AND EVERY TIME I SHIFT TO DRIVE OR REVERSE MY CAR TURNS OFF. IV'E PURCHASED MY CAR NEW BACK IN 2013, AND IT ONLY HAS 73,000 MILES. I DON'T DRIVE LONG DISTANCES TOO OFTEN OR GET ON THE HIGHWAY TOO MUCH. I WORK ABOUT 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM WORK WITH TRAFFIC. I HAVE DONE MY OIL CHANGE AT MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND NOTHING EVER CAME UP ON THEIR MULTI INSPECTION. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA FE + S ON HWY AND EVEN INNER CITY STREETS IT SEEMS TO STALL AND LOSES POWER I NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO DO TO MAKE IT SAFE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE IF THERE IS A WAY TO TAKE IT BACK TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED
CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR WARNINGS. AFTER 30 MINUTE DRIVE ON FREEWAY CAME TO A STOP AT A TURN OFF. WENT TO CROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH PLENTY OF SPACE AND TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CATCH AND MOVED EXTREMELY SLOW. CARS CAME AT SPEED AND HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES TO AVOID COLLISION. TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OF ANY SORT.
DRIVING HOME THE OTHER NIGHT AND WHEN I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. FIRST IT STARTED REVVING REALLY HIGH AND NOT SHIFTING, THEN IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED ON THE GAS IT WOULD NOT GO. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO BE STUCK ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A CAR THE WOULD NOT GO. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO CRAWL TO AN OFFRAMP AND ONTO A SIDE STREET. I HAD TO HAVE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER. AFTER EXAMINING IT, THEY SAID IT WAS MAKING A WINING SOUND AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AT A STOP LIGHT, OR WHEN I AM TRYING TO MAKE A TURN, IT WILL NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE, EVEN IF I HOLD DOWN THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND THEN IT WILL JERK AND ACCELERATE AGAIN. AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT IS NOT OPERATING. OCS SENSOR IS NOT OPERATING
THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR SLIPS, JERKS, HIGH RMPS WITH OUT SHIFTING. THE ECO AND SPORT NO LONGER DO ANYTHING WHEN YOU TRY TO SWITCH IT. IT IS A REAL HAZZARD WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY OR IN LEFT HAND TURNS, I LITERALLY HAVE TO WAIT TILL THERE IS NO TRAFFIC. HIGHLY UPSET THERE IS ONLY 82,000 MILES ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE MOVED VERY SLOWLY. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEED 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND JERKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GILES NISSAN LAFAYETTE (6137 JOHNSTON ST, LAFAYETTE, LA 70503, (337) 210-9000), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD PAY HALF FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
TRANSMISSION - ACCELERATION WILL SUDDENLY CEASE / RPM'S WILL BE STUCK AT 2500 BUT CAR IS ONLY GOING 30 MPH. VERY UNSAFE WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND CAR CANNOT GET UP TO SPEED NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PUSH ACCELERATOR. VERY CONCERNED NISSAN IS NOT ADDRESSING THIS PREVALENT ISSUE WITH 2013 SENTRA'S. MY KIDS DRIVE THIS CAR!
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 67341 MILES
I bought the car in May 2019. The dealership I bought it from said they worked with a Nissan dealership and replaced the transmission just before I purchased the car. Shortly after I got the car I noticed problems. I had my mechanic tell me it was the transmission slipping. In August I took it back to where I bought it and they sent it back to the Nissan dealership to check. The Nissan dealership said there was nothing wrong with it. They said it showed no codes. It continued to be a problem. I eventually took it to another mechanic and a transmission shop. Both confirmed a transition problem. I then took it to a different Nissan dealership. Lamb Nissan. They looked at it and said the program that will show error codes was not up to date and the original Nissan dealership should have updated and it was not updated. They said there is a problem but the program needed to be updated for them to know more. They updated it and I have been driving it with continued problems. I will be taking it back to Lamb Nissan in a couple weeks to have them check it out again. The problems have been after stopping at a stop sign on an incline, when I accelerate it gives a rurring sound as if it is going fast, but it barely moves. Then it will finally kick in and drive a normal speed. It also jerks. Especially when I take my foot off the brake. I have occasionally smelled a burning smell. Not sure if it is related. Answering the questions: 1) transmission - I can arrange for it to be available for inspection. 2) my safety is in question because I don’t know the exact problem and when/if it will just shut down and possibly cause an accident. 3) the problem has been confirmed by 4 places as described above. 4) it has not been inspected other than above as far as I know. 5) no warning lights have come on.
FOR THE PAST YEAR OR SO THE CAR HAS BEEN JERKING WHEN IT CHANGED GEAR, BUT UNTIL RECENTLY THE TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT COMPLETELY, THE CAR IS ONLY A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. I HAVE MAINTAINED THE CARS REGULAR MAINTENANCE . I AM STILL PAYING ON THE VEHICLE AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THE COST OF THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT MY OPTIONS ARE WITH NISSAN IN REGARDS TO WARRANTY OR RECALLS ON THE CAR FOR THE TRANSMISSION, OR ANY ASSISTANCE TO TO FIX MY CAR. THE DRIVER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON, ON THE DASHBOARD. IT TURNS ON WHEN I START THE CAR AND IT STAYS ON. ONE DAY IT WAS OFF WHEN I FIRST TURNED ON THE CAR, BUT AS I DROVE A COUPLE OF BLOCKS IT TURNED ON. I WENT TO A MECHANIC AND HE RAN A DIAGNOSTICS AND IT CAME BACK WITH CODE B00A0-00 OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM DATA 4 SENSOR - HISTORY FAULT. HE SUGGESTED I GO BACK TO NISSAN. NISSAN TOLD ME THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND I WOULD HAVE TO FIRST PAY $180.00 FOR THEM TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THEN PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS. I AM CONCERNED AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I AM NOT SURE IF THE DRIVERS AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS CAR AND IT HAS LOW MILEAGE ABOUT 12,200 MILES. ALSO, I HADE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG STATUS LIGHT OPERATION RECALL FIXED IN 2016.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND HEARD A POP, I WAS CONCERNED SO I PULLED FORWARD TO SEE IF I HEARD ANYTHING ELSE. MY CAR MOVED FORWARD ABOUT A FOOD AND CAME TO A GRINDING HALT. MY CONTROL ARM DISCONNECTED FROM THE WHEEL CAUSING MY WHEEL TO SLIDE INTO MY WHEEL WELL AND PULL THE AXLE OUT OF PLACE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING AT SPEED LIKE SOME OTHER FOLKS I HAVE HEARD OF, I WOULD BE DEAD OR INJURED SERIOUSLY. WHEN I CONFRONTED NISSAN THEY SAID THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO AND WE'RE ABSOLUTELY RUDE IN THE SERVICE CENTER. I HAVE GOTTEN IT FIXED BUT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE BECAUSE WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS ON ANOTHER WHEEL??
DRIVER AIRBAG LIGHTS KEEP TURNING ON AND OFF ON THE DASHBOARD. IT TURNS ON WHEN I START MY CAR OR WHILE I'M DRIVING, AND STAYS ON. THERE ARE SOME DAYS WHERE IT DOES NOT COME ON IN THE MORNING, AND THEN IT WILL COME ON IN THE AFTERNOON. RIGHT NOW THE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR 2 DAYS IN A ROW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TROPHY NISSAN (5031 N. GALLOWAY AVE, MESQUITE, TX) WHERE A TUNE-UP WAS PERFORMED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I EXPERIENCED RPM INCREASING AND DECREASING WHILE DRIVING. WHILE THIS OCCURRED I ALSO EXPERIENCED THE CAR JERKING AS IF IT WAS HAVING TROUBLE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. EVENTUALLY IT STALLED AND STARTED GOING IN REVERSE ONLY. WHEN I TURNED IT OFF I GOT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. I DIDNT WANT TO RISK FURTHER DAMAGE SO I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC. HE DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE QUOTED ME $3500 TO REPLACE IT WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION DIRECTLY FROM NISSAN
FAULTY TRANSMISSION
IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN AT A STOP AND STARTING TO TAKE OFF IT STALLS THEN JUMPS INTO GEAR AND IT TREMBLES AT TAKE OFF.
I TOOK MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA IN TO MY AUTO MECHANIC (WHO HAS BEEN MY MECHANIC FOR 25 YEARS) BECAUSE IT WAS SHIFTING ROUGHLY AND SLIPPING. MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HOPEFULLY, NISSAN WOULD EITHER COVER THE COST OR COVER PART OF IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO PINNACLE NISSAN, WHO HAS SERVICED KIT IN THE PAST. THEY UPDATED SOME CODES BUT SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL SLIPPING (THIS WAS ON A FRIDAY). THEY SAID THEY WOULD DRIVE IT AND SEE IF THEY COULD DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. I GOT ANOTHER CALL MONDAY MORNING, SAYING EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I COULD NOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER AS TO WHY IT WAS SLIPPING FRIDAY AFTERNOON BUT "FINE" MONDAY MORNING. I TRIED CALLING NISSAN CORPORATE FOR SOME HELP WITH THE COST TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY PROBLEM. SO, THE CAR WAS STILL DRIVING EXACTLY THE SAME AND, AT ONE POINT, WOULD NOT SHIFT! I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED AND, FORTUNATELY, HAPPENED TO BE CLOSE TO MY AUTO MECHANIC. THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY "CAUGHT" AND SHIFTED SO I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MY MECHANIC'S. HE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BUT IT COST ME $4200!!! THANKS, NISSAN, FOR THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND FOR LYING TO ME AND FOR NOT HELPING ME AT ALL! SO, AFTER PAYING $4200 TO REPLACE MY FAULTY TRANSMISSION, I ASKED MY MECHANIC TO ALSO LOOK AT MY AC, WHICH WAS NOT WORKING WELL. I LIVE IN PHOENIX, WHERE IT IS 115 IN THE SUMMER, SO THE AC IS PRETTY CRUCIAL. I WAS HOPING I JUST NEEDED A LITTLE FREON. NOPE. YET ANOTHER DESIGN FLAW FROM NISSAN, I HAD TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR, THE CONDENSER, AND SWITCH. SO, I HAVE POURED $5300 INTO A CAR THAT'S WORTH ABOUT $5700! I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN GOOD FAITH, BELIEVING THAT NISSAN IS AN EXCELLENT, RELIABLE BRAND. I AM SO DISGUSTED I CAN'T STAND IT!
TRANSMISSION HIGH REV BEFORE SHIFT, ABOUT TO GO OUT, DOSNT ACCELERATE, JERKS HARD MAKES LOUD NOISE WHEN IT JERKS WHILE MOVING, TURNING, DOSNT ACCELERATE WHILE TURNING
ON 07/09/2019, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 60 MPH - 65 MPH, TRAVELING UP A SLIGHT OVERPASS, THE CVT TRANSMISSION ON MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA SL SHIFTED, TO WHAT SEEMS TO ME, TO BE, THE 1ST GEAR. THE RPM IMMEDIATELY SHOT UP TO 7,000 RPM. I IMMEDIATELY RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR, BUT IT CONTINUED TO REV AROUND 5,000-7,000 RPM. I WAS LUCKY THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ME. THE TORQUE ALONE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO 40MPH, I CAME TO A STOP, PLACED IT IN PARK, AND TURNED OF MY VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. THIS OCCURRED AT THE JUNCTION ON INTERSTATE - 45 SOUTH, ON 2ND RIGHT LANE FOR EXITS TO 610 - EAST AND WEST. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHIN .5 - 1 MILES OF THESE COORDINATES ON I-45 SOUTH: 29.820626, -95.378574. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN ON THE SAME DAY TRAVELING NORTH ON THE AIRLINE HOV LANE. I'VE ATTACHED A SCREEN SHOT OF A VIDEO I WAS ABLE TO TAKE DURING THE SECOND INCIDENT OF THE THAT DAY. VEHICLE IN MOTION AT HIGH SPEEDS 60-65 MPH IN HOUSTON TX ON INTERSTATE-45 SOUTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING UP A SLIGHT OVER PASS. HOWEVER, THIS SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ON A FLAT ROAD TRAVELING AT LOWER SPEEDS IN SITUATIONS OF STOPPING THEN ACCELERATING TO HIGHER SPEEDS (35 MPH OR 45 MPH). IT'S SLUGGISH TO SHIFT GEARS WITH A JERK MOTION WHEN IT FINALLY DOES SHIFT. THE UNSAFE CONDITION WAS INTRODUCED WHEN THE TRANSMISSION CAUSED MY CAR NOT TO ACCELERATE ON THE HOUSTON HIGH, IN A SITUATION WHERE CARS ARE MERGING OR SWITCHING LANES TO TAKE EXITS. I SPOKE TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, AND THEY INVOICED ME AT $4,000-$5,000 DOLLARS. I INQUIRED A BIT MORE, AND THEY LET ME KNOW THAT I'M "LUCKY," AS THEY HAVE HAD SENTRA'S COME IN WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES. I ALSO SPOKE WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS, EXPLAINED THE ISSUES TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY WARRANTY I WAS UNAWARE OF, BUT NONE. SENTRA SL, 91,480 MILES. (ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION OCCURRED EVEN AT 39K)
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ON ITS OWN. ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE ON ITS OWN. GEAR NOT FULLY GRABBING.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS APPROXIMATELY 88K MILES AND IN THE LAST 10K THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SKIPPING GEARS, HAVING PROGRESSIVE DIFFICULTY SHIFTING UP AND DOWNHILL; THERE'S JARRING AND JERKING WHEN ACCELERATING AND DE-ACCELERATING. IT MOST OFTEN HAPPENS ON DECLINES INCLINES STOPS DURING DRIVING, AND TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I'VE SEEN THAT MANY 2013 NISSAN OWNERS EXPERIENCE SIMILAR ISSUES

THESE ARE ALL OF THE PROBLEMS I'M EXPERIENCING; LOSS OF POWER, TRANSMISSION JERKING, TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, CVT COOLANT HOSE LEAKS AND FAILURES. ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN MOTION ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND MY CAR COULDN'T GO OVER 35MPH. NOT ONLY WAS I ENDANGER MY CHILD WAS ALSO IN THE BACK SEAT TO DO THE FACT MY CAR COULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL!! I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS FOR SOME TIME NOW BUT THE LOSS OF POWER WAS THE LAST STRAW. AND THEN I START DOING RESEARCH ON MY CAR AND FIND OUT NISSAN HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY THEIR ISN'T SOME TYPE OF RECALL ON THESE UNSAFE VEHICLES. ITS A DANGER TO MY FAMILY AND THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!
I WAS DRIVING FOR 2 HOURS STRAIGHT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN SO I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF WAITED FOR LIKE A MINUTE AND THE CAR STARTED TO PICK UP SPEED WITH JERKING THEN I CONTINUE FOR A WHILE WHEN I CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND TRIED TO PROCEED IT WOULDN'T GO SO I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN WAITED AND IT SLOWLY PICKED UP SPEED AFTER ME FLOORING THE PEDAL THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BUT I DID GET A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL AWHILE BACK BUT IT STATED IF THE CAR IS AT 150,000 MILES THEN SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WOULD MALFUNCTION MY VEHICLE IS AT 98,000 I WAS TRAVELING ON THE ROAD IN MOTION WHILE ALL THIS OCCURRED I EVENTUALLY HAD TO GET A TOW HOME
THE CAR SHOWED P2859 WHICH INVOLVED CVT TRANSMISSION CODE. I SEE THAT THERE HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUES ABOUT THE CVT WHICH UNSAFE WHEN DRIVING THRU THE HIGHWAY..
MY DAUGHTER OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA CTV. HER VEHICLE STARTED DRIVING SLOW, JERKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE ALL DRIVING. IT WOULD ACCELERATES BUT MOVE VERY SLOW. THE MPR WOULD REV UP BUT OBO WOULDNT MOVE. NISSAN DEALERSHIPS INSPECTED IT AND STATED IT WOULD BE 4500 TO FIX. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAD IT FIX. HER CAR ONLY HAD 69000 MILES AT THE TIME WE HAD OT FIX. THIS WAS A GREAT DEAL OF A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP.
CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 50MPH WITH FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN. RPM WAS BOUNCING AL OVER THE PLACE AND CAR WAS BEING VERY JERKY AT LOWER SPEEDS ON FREEWAY. AS SOON AS I REACHED ABOUT 40MPH THE RPM NEEDLE DID NOT MOVE AT ALL WHILE GETTING TO 50MPH. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN A YEAR THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAS HAD ISSUES.

PLEASE PLEASE NISSAN LOOK INTO THIS
MY TRANSMISSION WILL NO LONGER OPERATE SAFELY. IT JERKS, MAKES NOISE, AND IT STILL HAS GENERALLY LOW MILEAGE. THE CAR DEVELOPED THE SOUND FIRST, SO I TOOK IT INTO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID SERVICED. THEY INFORMED ME AT THAT TIME THAT THE NOISE WAS IN FACT THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT WAS GOING BAD.
VEHICLE STUTTERS AND JOLTS WHEN NEEDING TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY. RPMS SHOOT UP TO 7-8 ON INCLINES AT 60-70MPH WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS ENGAGED. VEHICLE STUTTERS AT SLOW ACCELERATIONS AFTER STOP SIGNS AND RED LIGHTS. ON 2 SEPARATE INSTANCES, WHILE IN MOTION, VEHICLE REVS TO 4+ RPMS BUT IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST 40MPH. VEHICLE HAS 77K MILES AND IS CURRENT ON ALL SERVICES. TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED A FAILED TRANSMISSION WITH REPAIR OF $4800.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALER LOCATED IN COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND, WHERE TWO CODES POPPED UP: P0456 AND P101. THE VENT CONTROL VALVE SEAL-O-RING 16618-JF00A WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND THE FUEL GAUGE ON DASHBOARD STARTED TO ACTING OUT; I THOUGHT MY CAR WAS LEAKING GAS, BUT I COULD NOT SMELL IT. I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS ELECTRIC. I CALLED NISSAN OF HUNTINGTON TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AND MAKING AN APPOINTMENT, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE (3:45PM), SO I HAD TO BRING MY CAR TO CENTERPORT AUTOMOTIVE. THEY SCANNED MY CAR'S COMPUTER SYSTEM AND: "CODE PO 463 FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT MALFUNCTION CODE". AS A RESULT, THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND SENDING UNIT ASSEMBLY IN FUEL TANK. MY CAR WAS 35472 MILES AT THE TIME THIS WORK WAS DONE. HAD TO PAY 681.37 DOLLARS + NYS SALE TAXES. I WOULD LOVE TO BE REIMBURSED SINCE A FUEL PUMP LASTS MORE THAN 125,000 MILES. THOUSANDS OF 2013 NISSAN SENTRA CARS HAVE A FUEL SYSTEM RECALL, BUT NOT THIS PARTICULAR VIN NUMBER.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE MAJOR HIGHWAY ROAD RPM WILL GO ALL WAY TO 6 THEN BACK DOWN TO 2 BACK AND FORTH AND THE CAR WILL JERK WITHOUT ME PUSHING THE GAS AND USUALLY GOING AT NORMAL RATE OF SPEED , TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND A JERKING , SOMETIMES WHEN COMING TO AN INTERSECTION THE RPM HAND WOULD GO UP TO 6 WITHOUT WARNING , ALMOST PROPELLING ME ON THRU THE INTERSECTION VERY DANGEROUS , I AM AFRAID FOR MY LIFE WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PROBLEM
I HAD TO PAY OVER $4,000 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THEM. THE CVT WAS BAD ON TBESE NISSONS 2012-2017 MODELS.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. THE CAR WAS JERKING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT TO A DEALERSHIP, AND WE WERE TOLD THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. THE LABOR AND PART COST US $3,800. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THESE TRANSMISSIONS.
