AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY FLASHING AND NOTHING ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORKS. CRUISE CONTROL, VOLUME FOR THE RADIO, MODE SELECT AND ETC. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AFTER LOOKING AT OTHER FORUMS WITH NISSAN TITAN OWNERS COMPLAINTS.
HAD A RECALL ON THE 2004-2006 AIR BAGS AND TOOK TITAN IN TO UNIVERSITY NISSAN IN FLORENCE, AL. WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL COULD NOT BE COMPLETED ON SOME OF THE 2004-2006 TITANS AND THEY WOULD CONTACT NISSAN TO GET A SOLUTION. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF WAITING I CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND THEN UNIVERSITY NISSAN TRIED AGAIN TO REPROGRAM THE AIRBAGS BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT TAKE. NOW I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAS SUSPENDED THE RECALL UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THEY CAN PRODUCE A PROGRAM TO FIX THIS RECALL. I KNOW, OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM AND NOW WHAT CAN BE DONE ? IF AIR BAGS DECIDE TO GO OFF ON MY VEHICLE, WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND THE REPAIRS TO FIX IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY FOR NO REASON ? THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO CARRIAGE NISSAN (2400 BROWNS BRIDGE RD, GAINESVILLE, GA), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
MY NISSAN TITAN IS SUPPOSEDLY NOT INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA RECALL, HOWEVER, THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT IF I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH, IT MAY NOT DEPLOY OR MAY DEPLOY WITHOUT ANY REASON. I HAVE TALKED TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN HATTIESBURG, MS, BUT THEY SAID IT IS NOT INCLUDED. IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAPPEN, I AM SURE NISSAN WOULD PAY DEARLY. MY NISSAN ALSO HAD THE BRAKE PROBLEM THAT YOU DID THE RECALL ON SEVERAL YEARS BACK , BUT AGAIN, MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT THE NISSAN HERE DID FIX IT AND DID NOT CHARGE ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE I GET KILLED OR INJURED BADLY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO AVOID DEBRIS ON THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE STRUCK A POTHOLE. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, CONTUSIONS, AND INTERNAL BRUISING THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN A DIRT ROAD MY SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED CAUSING ME TO SWERVE INTO A DITCH. I CONTACTED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA AND THEY SUGGESTED I TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WHEN I TOOK IT THERE AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE PROBABLY NOT GOING TO COVER IT SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK USED AND THEY ASKED WHAT OTHER ACTIONS I WAS GOING TO PURSUE AND I SAID I WAS GOING TO CONTACT A LAWYER AND THEY WERE VERY ADAMANT ABOUT ME NOT CONTACTING A LAWYER WHICH I CONSIDERED TO BE A RED FLAG. DRIVING DOWN A DIRT ROAD AND MY SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND I DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER A RAINSTORM THIS VEHICLE (NISSAN TITAN 2006) WAS BEING DRIVEN LATE AT NIGHT ON AN UNPAVED COUNTRY ROAD IN THE VICINITY OF WEBSTER PARISH, LA. AS THE ROAD WAS WET AND THE VISIBILITY WAS VERY LIMITED IT WAS BEING DRIVEN NO FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THEY RAN INTO A RUT IN THE ROAD WITH THE LEFT FRONT TIRE AND THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. WHEN THE VEHICLE RAN INTO THE RUT IN THE ROAD IT TILTED VERY SLIGHTLY AND THEN RIGHTED ITSELF. THERE WAS NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONTACTED NISSAN WHO SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED PROPERLY AND THEY WOULD NOT PAY ANY PART OF REPLACING THEM OR THE SEAT BELTS. THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE ALSO SAID THAT THE VEHICLES' COMPUTER SENT OUT AN 'ERROR CODE' THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED OVER. ALSO, WHEN WE DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH ANOTHER NISSAN TRAINED AND CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, WE WERE TOLD THAT 7 OUT OF 10 TITANS HAVE ISSUES WITH THEIR COMPUTERS AND THAT THE SENSOR UNDER THE VEHICLE IS PRONE TO COME LOOSE. IT DOESN'T SEEM LOGICAL THAT A MINOR INCIDENT LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SEAT BELTS UNLESS THE SYSTEM IN THIS VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE. IT COST MORE THAN $5,000 TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS AND THE SEAT BELTS AND NISSAN WOULD NOT PAY ANY OF THIS AMOUNT. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

THE REAR SEAT SEAT-BELTS OF MY NISSAN TITAN TRUCK WILL TIGHTEN INTO A LOCKED POSITION CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO BECOME IMMOBILIZED AGAINST THE SEAT BACK. THE ONLY WAY TO UNDO THE LOCKED SEAT-BELT IS TO COMPLETELY DISENGAGE IT, AND THEN RE-LOCK IT. HOWEVER, IT'S THEN JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT LOCKS UP AGAIN FORCING THE PASSENGER TO UNLOCK IT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY HAZARD, BECAUSE THE PASSENGER HAS TO UNDO THEIR SEAT-BELT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION SO THEY CAN MOVE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY HAVE REPLACED THE SEAT BELTS ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIX THEM. I HAVE VERIFIED WITH OTHER 2006 NISSAN TITAN OWNERS AND THEY HAVE NOTED THE SAME PROBLEM, AND THE NISSAN DEALER ADMITTED THEY HAVE HAD OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY NEED TO REDESIGN THE REAR SEAT BELTS OR USE DIFFERENT TYPES THAT WON'T TIGHTEN AND LOCK UP WHEN PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY SITTING IN THEM, WHICH CREATES THIS SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. I ALWAYS INSIST THAT ANYONE RIDING WITH ME USE THE SEAT BELTS, BUT I HAVE NOTED ON OCCASION THAT SOME HAVE RELEASED THEM WITHOUT TELLING ME, BECAUSE THE SEAT BELT HAD LOCKED UP ON THEM, CAUSING TOO MUCH DISCOMFORT. MAYBE YOU CAN GET NISSAN TO CORRECT THIS SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM, BECAUSE THEY WON'T LISTEN TO ME (THEY SIMPLY REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE SEAT BELT WITH A SIMILAR DEFECTIVE ONE). *TR
