DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE AUTOMATIC POWER WINDOW CONTROL ON BOTH FRONT WINDOWS WERE DEPRESSED, IT ALLOWED THE WINDOW TO ROLL COMPLETELY UP OR DOWN WITH ONE TOUCH. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT ALERTED.
REAR END STARTED HUMMING AT 1300 MILES. I WAS IN MY YARD JUST STARTING OFF PULLING MY HORSE TRAILER (ABOUT 2 MILES PER HOUR) AND I HEARD THIS HUMMING HIGH PITCHED WHINE. I AM GOING TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP TIGHT AWAY. *JB
2006 NISSAN TITAN, REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKING ONTO BRAKE PARTS. *TR
REAR AXLE SEAL FAILURE. FLUID LEAKING ONTO BRAKE ROTOR. NORMAL DRIVING ON VEHICLE WITH ONLY 15000 MILES. DEALER REPAIRED SEALS AND SPACERS UNDER WARRANTY. *NM
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 5/29/06 FROM VICTORY NISSAN OF RICHMOND. ONE WEEK LATER PROPERTY WAS STOLEN WHEN A SUNROOF WAS INSTALLED. AT THE END OF JUNE, BRAKES FAILED AND PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED GOING ON INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO, DRIVER SEAT IS CROOKED. DEALER SAID THEY BLED THE BRAKES AND CLUTCH(?). THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC. ALSO, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG (THEN WHY DOES LIGHT KEEP COMING ON AND STAYING ON?) AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SEAT. LAST NIGHT (8/15/06) MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER THIS MORNING. I ADVISE THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THESE WERE LIFE SAFETY ISSUES AND SHOULD FALL UNDER THE LEMON LAW. I WAS ADVISED THE LEMON LAW WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM AND I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT NISSAN USA FOR ASSISTANCE. IS IT STILL NOT THEIR CONCERN WHEN THE FAULTY PRODUCT THEY SOLD FAILS AND CAUSES LOSS OF LIFE??? *NM
THE VEHICLE HAD WARPED FRONT ROTORS FROM DAY OF PURCHASE. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK FROM SIDE TO SIDE DURING TEST DRIVE AFTER APPLYING THE BAKE AT ABOUT 50 TO 60 MILES PER. I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO NISSAN DEALER TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY THE TRUCK HAD 632 MILES AT THE TIME. THAT WAS IN 2006. JUST RECENTLY I HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED AGAIN THE PADS WERE NOT WORN OUT COMPLETELY BUT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AT 33,673 MILES. I PAID ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED FOR $600 THAT SEEM TO BE THE MINIMUM CHARGE. *TR
06 TITAN LE CREW CAB - STEREO JUST STOPS - NO AUDIO, NO POWER, NOTHING. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS WITH COMPLETE HEAD UNIT REPLACEMENT BY THE DEALERSHIP. DEALER STATES THEY CAN NOT REMOVE THE CDS FROM THE CHANGER AND MUST WAIT FOR FACTORY TO DO SO - I HAVE NOT HAD ANY CDS RETURNED TO DATE. PENDING OTHER OPTIONS - PERSUE SMALL CLAIMS SUIT FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF CDS, ONE MORE INCIDENT OF SAME ITEM WILL MEET IL LEMON LAWS UNDER FOR IMPACT TO MATERIAL VALUE OF THE VEHICLE... I LIKE THE TRUCK AND IT FUNCTIONS WELL EXCEPT FOR THIS MORE SIMPLISTIC ITEM AND THE DIFFICULTY IN GETTING REPAIR FROM A DEALER THAT I DID NOT PURCHASE THE VEHICLE AND THE NUMBER OF FAILURES OF THE SAME ITEM. NISSAN USA HAS NOT BEEN MATERIALLY HELPFUL, ONLY TO DOCUMENT BUT NO ACTION. 2ND TIRES 285/70/R17 - REPORTED TO MICHELIN (FOR BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL - OEM) TIRES - HAVE LESS THAN 6/32S TREAD REMAINING WITH ONLY 6K MILES ON TIRES - MICHELIN WILL NOT REPLACE OR COMPENSATE UNTIL 2/32S, THOUGH THEY ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM GIVEN ORIGINAL TREAD WAS 13/32S SO MORE THAN HALF TREAD LIFE IS GONE IN 6K MILES. *JB
THE REAR AXLE SEALS ON THE NISSAN TITAN YEARS 2004-CURRENT HAVE A SEVERE AND PERSISTENT PROBLEM WITH LEAKING. I HAVE HAD MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN IN THE SHOP ONCE TO REPLACE THE RIGHT REAR AXLE SEAL AT 18,000 MILES AND NOW AT 20,000 MILES IT IS LEAKING AGAIN. THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK IS WHAT WORRIES ME. WHEN THE AXLE SEAL FAILS, IT SPRAYS GEAR OIL ON THE BRAKE COMPONENTS (ROTORS, CALIPERS, PADS) AND I AM WORRIED THAT THE PADS WILL BECOME CONTAMINATED AND NOT WORK EFFECTIVELY WHEN TO STOP MY TRUCK IN CASE OF A SUDDEN STOP. *NM
ON 22 JUNE 2006, I NOTICED WATER COMING BETWEEN THE HEADLINER AND REAR WINDOW JUST RIGHT OF THE CENTER ELECTRIC WINDOW. WATER HAD BEEN DRIPPING ONTO THE WINDOW LEDGE BELOW THE LEAK FOR SOMETIME DUE TO THE CONCENTRATION OF WATER SPOTS. THE LOCAL DEALER IDENTIFIED THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK (WITH PICTURES) AND HAD THE WINDOW PULLED AND RESEALED BY A LOCAL SPEEDY AUTO GLASS. UPON RECEIPT OF THE VEHICLE, I WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTION NOT TO CLOSE THE DOORS TO HARD AND TO WAIT AT LEST 48 HOURS BEFORE WASHING. APPROXIMATELY 72 HOUR AFTER RECEIPT OF THE VEHICLE I WASHED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED WATER LEAKING FROM THE SAME SPOT. *NM
AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO RETURN TO FULL IMMEDIATELY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES THE GAUGE WOULD FINALLY READ FULL. WHEN THE VEHICLE SAT FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS THE SAME CONDITION OCCURRED. AFTER NEXT REFUEL THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RESOLVED UNTIL THE VEHICLE SAT FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A SERVICE BULLETIN DESCRIBING THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY AFTER SEVERAL DAYS. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS AND SEVERAL REFUELS AND THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED. *NM
2006 WITH 2000 MILES; REAR DIFFERENTIAL MADE A LOUD GEAR WHINE SOUND WHEN IN UN-LOADED DE-CEL. TOOK TITAN BACK TO DEALER. DEALER REPLACED DIFFERENTIAL UNDER WARRANTY (2000 MILES, ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASE). AT 115,000 MILES IN JULY OF 2011, REPLACED REAR AXLE SEALS (NO WARRANTY). NOW, SEPTEMBER 2012, AT 133,000 MILES. THE SLIP AND BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WHEN DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL IS COLD. ONCE WARMED UP, LIGHTS GO OUT AND STAY OUT AFTER TITAN IS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED WARM. CHANGED DIFFERENTIAL OIL EVERY 7500 MILES WITH 75W 140 SYNTHETIC OIL PER MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES. NO ADDITIVES CALLED FOR OR USED WITH GEAR OIL CHANGES. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL THE LIGHTS (SLIP AND BRAKE) INDICATE THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND LIMITED SLIP ARE NOT OPERATIONAL WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON. DIFFERENTIAL REPAIR/REPLACEMENT REQUIRED TO RE-GAIN ABS AND LSD FEATURES. NOT SURE IF THE ULTIMATE FAILURE MODE IS 'GRACEFUL' OR NOT. *TR
AFTER ROLLING DOWN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW IT WOULD ONLY ROLL UP HALF WAY, THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE BUYING MY 06 TITAN 03/31/06. FINALLY THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE WOULD HAVE TO ORDER A PART. *JB
DRIVE TRAIN-REAR END MAKING A WHINING SOUND. COMPLETE REAR END ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED IN MY 2006 TITAN WITH 2000 MILES ON IT. NEW REAR END STARTED TO MAKE SAME NOISE AT 500 MILES. HAVE NOT RETURNED TO DEALER YET BUT PLAN TO DO SO AT LATER DATE. *JB
I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHUDDER WHEN BRAKING. I HAVE 12,500 ON THE VEHICLE. AFTER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP WHAT UP THEY SAID THEY GET BACK WITH ME... *JB
INCIDENT OCCURRED DURING NORMAL USE OF A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. NO SUSPENSION OR DRIVE LINE MODIFICATIONS. THE DIFFERENTIAL FAILED WHEN TURNING RIGHT ONTO A BUSY STREET. THERE WAS A LOUD BANG THEN A GRINDING SOUND. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT DRIVE AFTER THAT. EVERY TIME I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE TRUCK WOULD JUST GRIND AND NOT MOVE. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO ROYAL MOORE AUTO CENTER IN HILLSBORO, OR. WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN LOOKED AT THE TRUCK THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THE DIFFERENTIAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN HE MADE THE ORDER HE SAID NISSAN WOULD NOT GIVE HIM A DELIVERY DATE FOR THE PART BECAUSE IT WAS BACK ORDERED. IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR PART DELIVERY OR REPAIR. *NM
MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN HAS HAD MOISTURE INSIDE OF MY DRIVERS HEADLIGHT SINCE IT WAS NEW. THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH THE LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 02/20/2014 AND ASKED FOR A REVIEW OF THE DEFECT AND REPAIR. I DOCUMENTED THE DEFECT AT HANLEES NISSAN PER NISSAN REQUEST AND FORWARDED THE INFORMATION TO THEM. I AM TOLD SINCE THE VEHICLE IS BEYOND THE WARRANTY PERIOD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST ME. I CONTEND THAT THIS DEFECT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CREATES A HAZARD FOR LAMP FAILURE AND DISTORTS LIGHT EMISSION FROM THE HEADLIGHT WHEN IN USE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON LINE AND FOUND THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS HAVING ISSUES WITH WATER TRAPPED INSIDE THE LIGHT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE RESPONSE FROM NISSAN AND BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED OCCURRENCE AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND THAT NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE DEFECT AND HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO REMEDY THE ISSUE OR ISSUE A REFUND FOR MY TITAN THAT I PURCHASED NEW. *TR
REAR END VIBRATION STARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE. REAR END HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 3,500 MILES. *JB
CONSUMER'S 2006 NISSAN TITAN PULLS TO THE LEFT/ RIGHT WHEN DRIVING. *TS THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT ON THE DATE OF PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THE CONSUMER HAD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON APRIL 12, 2006. AN ALIGNMENT WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS RETURNED TO THE CONSUMER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED IT STILL PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ALIGNMENT WAS DONE TO FACTORY SPECS. THE CONSUMER MADE THE DEALER AWARE THAT THE SPECIFICATIONS WERE DIFFERENT FOR THE 2005 AND 2006 MODELS. *NM
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN KING CAB. IT HAS GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRES SRA 265 70 R18 ON IT. IN THE FIRST TWO TIMES I HAVE HAD IT IN LIGHT RAIN ON GOOD HIGHWAYS IT HYDROPLANES HORRIBLY AT MEDIUM SPEEDS{45 TO 55 MPH}. I HAVE NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THIS VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES IN LIGHT RAIN. THE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE DO NOTHING TO CHANNEL AWAY WATER IN MY OPINION. I WENT INTO A SLIGHT CURVE IN THE RAIN AND THE VEHICLE JUST WANTED TO GO STRAIGHT. THE MATCH OF THIS TIRE WITH THIS TRUCK IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE. THE TIRE OPTION LISTED LATER IN THIS COMPLAINT DO NOT GIVE GOODYEAR WRANGLER AS AN OPTION. SO I HAD TO PUT IN SOMETHING TO PROCEED ,PLEASE NOTE THIS. *NM
I HAVE A 06 NISSAN TITAN SE 4X4,AND IT SEEMS THE BALL JOINTS SEEM TO BE MAKING A NOISE,ALMOST LIKE THERE LOOSE . I CHECKED THE BOLTS AND THEY WERE VERY TIGHT SO THAT MIGHT BE A RARE PROBLEM. BUT I KNOW IT COULD BE DANGEROUS IF IT CAME LOOSE! WHAT SHOULD I DO. *NM
OK PICKED UP TRUCK FROM DEALER AND IT STARTED HUMMING 3 DAYS LATER. NO ONE AT DEALER WOULD BELIEVE IT WENT BAD THAT FAST. HAD TO DRIVE IT 2000 MI AND BRING IT IN WHEN THE HUM WAS VERY BAD FOR THEM TO BELIEVE IT. *JB

SO OF THESE ISSUES ARE JUST NOW POPPING. ONLY 2 OF THE ISSUES HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. PER THE DEALERSHIP I WOULD BE CONTACTED AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CALLS TO GET THESE MATTERS TAKEN CARE OF. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE SINCE THE ISSUES HAVE NOT BE ADDRESSED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ON A PAVED ROAD THERE WAS LOOSE GRAVEL CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED TWICE DOWN A HILL AND THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE AND THREE PASSENGERS SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A COPY OF POLICE REPORT. *AK
WELL FOR REPLACEMENT NUMBER TWO. STARTED HUMMING TOOK IT IN AND DIFFERENTIAL WAS FULL OF METAL SHAVINGS. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND SHUTTER. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE WOULD SUDDENLY CEASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY RADIATOR FLUID LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ALSO, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT WOULD BLINK ON AND OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE VDC [VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL] KEPT SHUTTING OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE TO REGULATE MOTION AND SPEED OF THE 4 WHEELS. THE VDC WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON WITH THE VDC DASH BUTTON. THE DEALER STATED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS HAD FAILED AND THE TITAN WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALER WAITING FOR A NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL FOR 2 WEEKS. THE TRUCK WAS NOT DELIVERED WITH THE POWER FOLDING - AUTO DIM EXTERIOR MIRRORS; THE XM RADIOS DID NOT WORK; BED EXTENDER NOT INSTALLED; GAS TANK WASN'T FULL AS PROMISED. *JB
POWER STEERING WAS OUT WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. RACK AND PINION WAS ALSO NOT WORKING. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP DRAGGED THEIR FEET BEFORE. *JB
My vehicle, which I bought used with about 140,000 miles on it had cracked exhaust manifolds, which I replaced. Both were cracked and one actually fell to pieces when unbolted. One replacement cracked after about 15,000 miles, but was able to have it braised. Now, at about 180,000 miles they a spewing carbon monoxide into the cab again. This is a serious health and safety issue, and from checking Titan club web sites, it seems to be a widespread issue. I DO NOT DRIVE OFF ROAD OR SUBJECT THE TRUCK TO ABNORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. REAR END IN MY NEW (2500 MILES) NISSAN TITAN WAS ON ITS WAY OUT(HUMMING). COMPLAINED TO DEALER THEY SAID THAT THE HUMM AND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE DIFF WERE NORMAL. HAD TO THREATEN TO PARK TRUCK IN THEIR SHOWROOM THROUGH THE WINDOW TO GET THEM TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. WHEN THEY DID THEY KEPT THE TRUCK FOR 5 DAYS TO REPLACE REAR END THAT WAS "NORMAL"ACCORDING TO THEIR TECH. *NM
