FUEL TANK GAUGE KEEPS BOBBING BACK AND FORTH, THE DIGITAL RANGE ESTIMATE IS GIVING FALSE READINGS LEADING TO ME RUNNING OUT OF GAS TWICE, AND I GET LOW FUEL WARNINGS EVEN WITH THE TANK HALF FULL.AT TIMES THE AVG MPG WOULD INDICATE BETWEEN 15 AND 23 MPG AND THE DROP TO 9.5 WITHIN 30 MINS.
DRIVING FROM NEVADA TO LOS ANGELES CA ON HIGHWAY 395. THREE TIMES WHILE AT SPEED MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF FOR THREE TO FIVE SECONDS. I LOST POWER STEERING, REAR TIRES FELT LIKE THEY LOCKED UP. CAR WOULD THEN POWER BACK ON AND I WOULD REGAIN POWER STEERING AND CONTINUE DOWN THE ROAD. THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN 40 MILES TODAY. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM WHERE THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.

WHILE DRIVING FROM PENSACOLA FL TO MY HOME ON I-110, A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING ME TO TAP ON THE BRAKES, TO SLOW DOWN., WHEN I TRIED TO REACCELERATE THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FOR AROUND 5 SECONDS, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE REAR ENDED.
"DEAD PEDAL" SOMETIMES THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE TRUCK IS RESPONSIVE AND TIME WHERE THERE IS A FEW SECOND DELAY IN RESPONSE. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING ACROSS TRAFFIC. THE PEDAL RESPONSE IS DIFFERENT EVERY TIME YOU PRESS IT. RPM JUMP. AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR AT A STOP THE RPM'S WILL JUMP UP FOR NO REASON CAUSING THE TRUCK TO LUNG FORWARD.
ON OCT 7 2016 I WAS DRIVING UP A WINDING MOUNTAIN CANYON ROAD AT ABOUT 45 TO TO 50 MPH I WAS ON AN INSIDE TURN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK JUST JUMPED INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE , I WAS ABLE TO GET IT UNDER CONTROL AND PULLED OFF ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS COMING THE OTHER WAY AT THAT TIME ,OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT AS IT JUMPED 3 OR 4 FEET INTO THE ONCOMING LANE . I VISUALLY INSPECTED UNDER WHAT I COULD SEE OF THE STEERING AND SUSPENSION SAW NOTHING AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE SLOWLY TO THE NEAREST TOWN BUT THE STEERING WAS REALLY SLOPPY SO HAD IT TOWED FROM THERE TO A NISSAN DEALER,FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, CASE #28569379. THEY SENT ENGINEERS FROM THE MANUFACTURING PLANT THEN I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN.THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE PITTMAN ARM HAD COME LOOSE FROM THE CENTER LINK AND THEY FIXED IT TO MY SATISFACTION BUT I DONT BELIEVE NISSAN IS GIVING THE MATTER THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES AS MY EXPERIENCE COULD EASILY HAVE ENDED IN AN INJURY/DEATH TYPE OF ACCIDENT, HAD TRAFFIC BEEN COMING THE OTHER WAY OR HAD I BEEN ON AN OUTSIDE TURN THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A CRASH OR POSSIBLY A LONG FALL TO THE STREAM BED BELOW. TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V068000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED HUDSON NISSAN (7331 RIVERS AVE, NORTH CHARLESTON, SC) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT SOME DEALERS TO SEE IF PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
FROM STOPPED POSITION: 1-3 SECOND OR GREATER DELAY (LAG) IN ACCELERATION TO MOVEMENT OF VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING: 1-3 SECOND OR GREATER DELAY (LAG) IN ACCELERATION TO RESPONSE OF VEHICLE. JERKING MOTION BETWEEN GEARS. NO PREDICTABILITY OF APPLYING ACCELERATION WHILE MOVING OR STOPPED CREATING SAFETY CONCERNS. NISSAN IS AWARE AND IS STATING THIS IS NORMAL. OCCURS WHILE DRIVING ALL SPEEDS INCLUDING ATTEMPTING TO CROSS INTERSECTIONS OR PASS ON HIGHWAY.
PURCHASED NEW 2016 NISSAN TITAN XD HAD SEVERE DOWNSHIFT PROBLEM WHERE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT SO ABRUPTLY IT WOULD FEEL LIKE YOU SLAMMED ON BRAKE PEDAL. TODAY WHILE TURNING LEFT FROM STOP LIGHT A GAS TRUCK IN FIRST LANE FAILED TO STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO PULL AWAY AND NO THROTTLE RESPONSE AT ALL. HAD THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER TRUCK NOT BROUGHT HIS VEHICLE TO STOP INJURY OR DEATH WOULD HAVE SURELY RESULTED. I'VE OWNED NEARLY 100 NEW CARS OF ALL MAKES MODELS TYPES ETC AND HAVE DRIVEN WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT FOR OVER 40 YEARS. I'VE NEVER FELT MORE UNSAFE IN A NEW CAR AND I'VE CONTACTED DEALER WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THIS HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE! ONCE AGAIN CAR MANUFACTURERS WOULD RATHER WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE DIES THAN FIX THE PROBLEM!
AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK... THIS IS A MAYOR MAYOR DEFECTS
2016 NISSAN TITAN. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO HARSH SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS INOPERABLE. THERE WERE EXHAUST FUMES THAT WERE BEING RELEASED INTO THE VEHICLE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT HEALTH ISSUES. *JS *JS
BAD TRANSMISSION, SLIPPING AND ERRATIC SHIFT, AT DEALERSHIP 30 DAYS STILL NO ANSWER ABOUT FIXING IT. POWER STEERING TOO HARD AND MAKES NOISE WHEN TURNING TURBO IS MAKING NOISE. THIS IS DIESEL ENGINE WITH DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID, NOT WORKING PROPERLY, DOESN'T BURN ANY DEF, IT IS REQUIREMENT ON ALL DIESEL ENGINES TO HAVE THIS EXHAUST CLEANER.
SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLES MY WIFE'S AND HI ARE INCOMMODED BY EXHAUST GAS IN THE CABIN, REAL BAD . THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIX IT AND WE ARE WORRIED, THIS IS AN EXTREME AND URGENT SITUATION THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 MONTH OLD ? THIS IS BECOME A PERMANENT SITUATION
THE VEHICLE IS PULLING TO THE RIGHT ALWAYS DEALER CANT FIX IT,
WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON HWY 98 THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT LAG IN ACCELERATION, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE REAR ENDED. AS I TURNED TO MERGE AND PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FOR 5-6 SECONDS, I NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS LAG IN MY 2011 NISSAN TITAN.
A LOW SPEED ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG EXPLODED RATHER THAN INFLATE, LEAVING ME WITH NO PROTECTION. THE GAS AND PARTICULATE FILLED THE CABIN INSTANTLY LEAVING ME WITH NO VISION IN OR OUTSIDE THE TRUCK UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR. THE SMELL WAS SIMILAR TO BURNT GUNPOWDER. A DEBRIS SCORCHED A HOLE IN FRONT OF MY SHIRT. THE PASSENGER BAG ONLY PARTIALLY INFLATED. SPEED 30MPH. DIRECT HEAD ON COLLISION TO SIDE OF OTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE PICTURE BUT CANNOT UPLOAD RIGHT NOW. THIS AIRBAG SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS AND DEFECTIVE.
NO ACCELERATION FROM STOP OR A SLOW ROLL THRU STOP I GET A 4 TO 6 SECOND DELAY WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THIS HAPPENS QUITE ALOT I HAVE 10K MILES ON THE TRUCK DEALER SAYS NISSAN HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BUT I READ ABOUT IT ON THE NET AND I SEE COMPLAINT HERE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO GET KILLED BEFORE NHTS WILL GET INVOLVED ???
INTERMITTENTLY LOOSES POWER, TOTAL LOSS OF ACCELERATION. DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD NOT KNOWING WHEN IT'S COMING. I'M VERY FAMILIAR WITH TURBO LAG, THIS IS NOT IT. USUALLY HAPPENS AROUND 1/4 THROTTLE, SQUEELING ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT, EXHAUST ODOR IN THE TRUCK, MAKES YOU NAUSEOUS, AFRAID TO LET MY KIDS RIDE IN IT! SEVERE CLUNKING IN DRIVELINE, RATTLE IN TURBOCHARGER, CHECK ENGINE FOR WASTE GATE, LEAKING WINDOW SEALS, DRIPS ON WINDOW SWITCH SURGES FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP, THEY SAY IT'S SHIFTING INTO FIRST, IT WILL SHOVE YOU INTO AN INTERSECTION! RADIO HAS LOUD POPPING, THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED FIXES MANY TIMES TO NO AVAIL. NISSAN RESPONSE "ITS NORMAL"
ACCELERATION DELAY FROM STOP OR YIELD. STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TOO FAST AND IT JUST SITS THERE UNTIL IT DECIDES TO MOVE. DEALER STATES IT IS NORMAL FOR TORQUE CONTROL. DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AT ANY SPEED.
I HAVE HAD MY 2016 NISSAN TITAN XD PLATINUM RESERVE DIESEL FOR 1 MONTH AND HAVE DRIVEN IT ABOUT 450 MILES. ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN I HAVE GOTTEN A DEAD PEDAL. WHILE ACCELERATING REASONABLY (NOT MASHING THE ACCELERATOR) FROM A STOP SIGN TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION THE TRUCK WOULD ROLL FORWARD ABOUT 6-8 FEET THEN NOTHING (NO ACCELERATION, NO RPM REV, JUST DEAD) FOR 4-6 SECONDS. THEN WITH THE PEDAL STILL ABOUT 1/2 WAY DOWN THE TRUCK WOULD RESPOND AND TAKE OFF LIKE A ROCKET. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS A DRIVER SHOULD EXPECT THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. THIS CAUSED ONE VERY NARROW NEAR MISS BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE AS I SAT DEAD IN THE WATER IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION FOR 5 SECONDS. THE OTHER 2 OCCASIONS THERE WERE THANKFULLY NO ONCOMING VEHICLES. I NOW HAVE TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO OTHER VEHICLE IN SIGHT TO FEEL SAFE IN CROSSING AN INTERSECTION OR PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILL, IF THAT HAS NOT ALREADY HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
DRIVESHAFT BROKE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH. VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY AND SLOWED DOWN QUICKLY TO 20 MPH. HAD TO PULL OVER THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TO BE TOWED. VEHICLE HAD 16000 MILE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I FELT VERY UNSAFE AND WAS LUCKY THAT THIS DID NOT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
THE VEHICLE THAT I DRIVE IS A 2016 NISSAN TIITAN 4X4 XD (THE DIESEL VERSION). MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 4000 MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND AT SOME POINT WHILE DRIVING IT, A SMALL PEBBLE ENTERED THROUGH THE GRILL OF THE TRUCK AND CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER. THE RESULT OF THIS CONTACT POKED A HOLE IN THE CONDENSER AND CAUSED THE FREON TO LEAK OUT, WHICH RESULTS IN DAMAGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT. THE MECHANIC WHO WORKED ON MY VEHICLE HAS STATED THAT NISSAN HAS BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT AND IT IS A RESULT OF FAULTY WORKMANSHIP ON THE PART OF NISSAN IN THE GRILL THAT THEY CHOSE. THE GRILL HAS GAPS THAT ARE TOO LARGE AND ALLOWS FOR SMALL PIECES OF DEBRIS TO PASS THROUGH THEM WHICH CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE INTERNAL PARTS OF THE VEHICLE. NISSAN HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THIS AS A PROBLEM AND THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY THE VEHICLE OR THE PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BECAUSE "IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT." THE MECHANIC FOR NISSAN SUGGESTED THAT I PLACE A MESH SCREEN BEHIND MY GRILL TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM AND SO THAT CONSUMERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PAY $1,100 TO FIX THEIR AIR CONDITIONER BECAUSE OF FAULTY WORKMANSHIP ON THE PART OF THE MANUFACTURER
THE COMPUTER IS APPARENTLY SET SO AN ABRUPT ACCELERATION SUCH AS TRYING TO GET INTO TRAFFIC WILL CAUSE A MOMENTARY STALL RESULTING IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
LITTLE TO NO THROTTLE RESPONSE 3-5 SECOND DELAY. SPEED FROM 15-35 TRANSMISSION ISSUE AS WELL. CALL NISSAN THEY STATED THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS BUT HAVE NO FIX. I FELL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! NO ACCELERATION WHEN NEED?
THE TRUCK IS LEAKING DIESEL FUMES INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE SMELL IS MORE NOTICEABLE DURING A REGEN. THE ODOR AND FUMES CAN BECOME VERY INTOXICATING IF STOPPED IN TRAFFIC TO THE POINT YOU WOULD NEED TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN OR EXIT THE VEHICLE FOR A BREAK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SOS SAFETY SYSTEM INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEATING NISSAN (333 INTERSTATE 45 S, CONROE, TX 77304, (936) 230-5083) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SOS SAFETY SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD COVER THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DENIED THAT THE SOS SYSTEM WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS HAD TO BE PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD RECEIVE A CALLBACK HOWEVER, NEVER DID RECEIVE THAT CALLBACK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER THREATENED TO CANCEL THE REMAINDER OF THE VEHICLE WARRANTY IF THE CONTACT PURSUED THE USE OF THE LEMON LAW TO GET RID OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,832.
THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS BECOME LOOSE FROM THE TRACK CAUSING THE SEAT TO MOVE WHILE DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURE CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL MOVEMENT FOR A POWER SEAT. THE SEAT HAS BROKEN FROM THE BASE AND WILL MOVE FREELY WHILE DRIVING.

WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE WE PUT THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND TRUCK WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL FOR SOMETIMES UP TO 5 MINS AND THAT'S WITH US TRYING TO GET THE TRUCK TO GO. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES AND WE HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT RIDES IN THE TRUCK. WE SMELL FUMES IN THE CAB IN WHICH I HAVE ASTHMA AND AGAIN SMALL CHILDREN WHICH IS DANGEROUS TO SMELL. SHIFTS HARD AND NOT ALWAYS THE SAME, EITHER TAKES LONGER TO SHIFT OR SHIFTS QUICK. VERY JERKY WHEN IN TRAFFIC. THE DAY WE GOT HOME WITH THE TRUCK WE HEARD A GRINDING NOISE WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKES.IT HAPPENS RANDOM LIKE THE NO ACCELERATION. ON FREEWAY WHEN ACCELERATING AND SLOWING DOWN BACK TO ACCELERATING THERE'S A HORRIBLE LAG.OUR GAUGE DOESN'T MATCH WITH WHAT MIKES WE HAVE LEFT IN THE TANK.WHEN I GO TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TELL ME THERE'S NO WAY AND THAT I MUST BE IMAGING IT.THIS IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE AND I DREAD PUTTING MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK.OUR LIVES AND SAFETY ARE AT RISK.SCARED DEALERSHIP WILL ACT LIKE THEY CHECKED THE PROBLEMS BUT REALLY DIDN'T.CONSITANTLY HAVING TO REFILL DEF WHICH A FRIEND SAID IT SHOULDN'T DROP THAT FAST. OUR FUEL MILEAGE HAS GOTTTEN WORSE SINCE WE HAD IT. DEALERSHIP WOULDN'T COVER OUR WINDSHIELD THAT CRACKED OUT OF NO WHERE EVEN THOUGH WE PAID FOR THAT PARTICULAR EXTRA OPTION. DEALERSHIP LIED ABOUT IT ALL INCLUDING OUR WARRANTY WHICH THEY TALKED US DOWN TO THIS TRUCK. ALSO WHEN TURNING INTO A SPOT OR ON A STREET THE TRUCK MAKES A WEIRD NOISE AND THE WHEEL ONLY TURNED UP TO 3/4 OF THE WAY. ALSO WHEN STARTING SOMETIMES IT TAKES THE TRUCK LONGER TO START UP.
AS BEST AS I CAN DESCRIBE IT, THE TRUCK DOES NOT GET FUEL WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PREVENTING IT FROM MOVING FORWARD. YOU CAN PUSH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE ANYTHING STARTS TO MOVE, AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. WE'VE HAD TO PUMP THE PEDAL AND PRESS IT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS CAUSING US TO ALMOST GET HIT WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. WE'VE SPOKEN WITH NISSAN SERVICE ADVISORS AND SALES ASSOCIATES ABOUT THE ISSUE REPEATEDLY ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM IN THE WORKS EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE RECEIVED COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXACT SAME ISSUES FROM OTHER OWNERS. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS ONGOING PROBLEM, OCCURRING EVERY TIME IT IS DRIVEN.

I'VE TURNED IT IN TO NISSAN AND THEY CLAIM NOTHING IS WRONG. THEY'VE CLAIMED TO REMOVE THE SEAT TO CHECK FOR WIRES. BOLTS WERE NOT TOUCHED?? ALSO CLAIMED NO WIRES UNDER FLOOR BOARD.
VEHICLE LOST POWER ON HIGHWAY AND WOULD NOT EXCEED 40MPH WITH FULL ACCELERATION, WAS ABLE TO LIMP VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. WAS TOLD DPF REGEN TRIGGERED ENGINE FAIL-SAFE CAUSING LOSS OF POWER. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE VISIBLE DURING INCIDENT. DEALER DOES NOT KNOW CAUSE OF ISSUE BUT WAS ABLE TO RESET VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN SEVERAL DAYS LATER AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AND HAS NO CLEAR FIX.
I'M GETTING EXHAUST DIESEL FUMES IN THE CAB. IT OCCURS WHEN DRIVING SLOW AND WHEN IDLING. NOT ONLY MY TRUCK BUT THE TRUCK I TEST DROVE AT A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. THE PURCHASE WAS 12/24/2016. I BROUGHT THE TITAN BACK TO THEM AND ALL I'M GETTING IS LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY. THE STATEMENT TO ME IN WRITING WAS THAT WHEN THE REGEN SYTEM ACTIVATES FUMES ARE GETTING INTO THE CAB. WHEN I CALLED PENKE AUTO GROUB IN MICHIGAN AND NISSAN NATIONAL BOTH REPRESENTATIVES SAID THEY WILL CONTANT ME BEFORE NOON THE NEXT DAY. NOT ONE OF THEM RESPONDED BACK TO ME. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT NISSAN IN WEST WARWICK RI. IS THAT NISSAN WILL BE PUTTING A BULLETINS OUT IN THE NEXT 6 WEEKS AND ANOTHER OUT IN APRIL. I WAS TOLD NOT TO USE THE FRESH AIR AND USE RECIRCULATION BOTTON. THIS IS CLEARLY IS IRRESPONSIBLE BY NISSAN OF MY LEGITIMATE COMPLIANT AND A HEALTH, ESPECIALLY A SAFETY ISSUE TO THE MOTORING PUBLIC. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUMES FROM THE DIESEL ENGINE PENETRATED INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND MADE THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE DIZZY AND SICK. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GRAND STRAND NISSAN (4701 US-501, MYRTLE BEACH, SC 29579, 843-236-2191) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE DIESEL ENGINE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND, AFTER FIVE ATTEMPTS, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER MADE THREE DIFFERENT OFFERS TO THE CONTACT, INCLUDING A BUY-BACK, BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT MAKE A DECISION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 800.
ON NOVEMBER 22, 2016 I AM DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY NISSAN TITAN XD TURBO DIESAL TRUCK HAD A MAJOR LOSS OF POWER AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON MY DASHBOARD. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE CARS WERE FLYING BY BEEPING THERE HORN AT ME. IVSAT THERE FOR 15 MINUTES WONDERING WHAT TO DO. I DECIDED TO TRY AND START THE TRUCK THE PROBLEM WAS GONE AND I CONTINUED ON MY WAY. I CALLED NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. AND SAID IF HAPPENS AGAIN BRING IT IN. ON DECEMBER 6TH THE LOSS OF POWER WARNING LIGHT REOCCURRED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE SERVICE DEPT IMMEDIATELY. THE SERVICE DEPT. REPROGRAMMED ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. THE TRUCK PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE REMEDIED. WHILE ON VACATION IN FLORIDA IN JANUARY 2017 I HAD LOSS OF POWER TWICE BUT NO WARNING LIGHT. ON MARCH 31, 2017 , I DROVE TRUCK TO DOCTOR'S APPT AND AFTER APPT DTARTED TRUCK PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND TRUCK ENGINE POWER FAILED COMPLETELY. I GOT TRUCK TO NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. AND HAS BEEN THERE SINCE. NISSAN DOES NOT KNOW WHAT PROBLEM IS AND DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR TRUCK. I AM A 100 PERCENT DISABLED VETERAN AND AM NOT ABLE TO WALK VERY FAR. IF THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE I WILL BE IN TROUBLE. I CONSIDER THIS TRUCK A LEMON AND NISSAN SHOULD MAN UP AND GIVE ME A NEW TRUCK.
ON NOVEMBER 2, 2016, I WAS DRIVING MY 2016 NISSAN TITAN XD (DIESEL) ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN ON ME. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES). I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT REMAINS TO THIS DAY (NOVEMBER 30). THE DEALERSHIP, ALONG WITH ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN, HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR OR RESTART THE VEHICLE TO DATE. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE FUEL HAS BEEN TESTED AND WAS DETERMINED TO BE CLEAN DIESEL AND PROBLEM FREE. THE FUEL RAILS WERE FIRST REPLACED, WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS THEN REPLACED, AGAIN WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. MY LAST CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP WAS ONE WEEK AGO, AND I WAS TOLD THE NISSAN ENGINEER'S FELT THE FUEL SYSTEM/ENGINE WAS NOT GETTING "PRIMED" AND THEY WERE GOING TO LOOK INTO THAT SYSTEM. STILL,, THE VEHICLE REMAINS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO START THEN VEHICLE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED OTHER OWNERS OF THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE MAY OR MAY ALREADY HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED BECAUSE IT COULD RESULT IN A SEVERE ACCIDENT RESULTING IN INJURY, LOSS OF LIFE AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. *TR
TITAN XD WITH CUMMINS DIESEL AND AISIN TRANSMISSION HAS 4-10 SECONDS OF UNRESPONSIVENESS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COAST FROM 10-25MPH. THIS HAPPENED TO ME WITH MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC LEAVING US FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY. THE PEDAL WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR AND THERE WAS NO RESPONSIVENESS FROM THE TRUCK. NO DOWNSHIFT, NO ENGINE REVVING, NO ACCELERATION. IT WAS LIKE I HAD NOT EVEN PRESSED THE PEDAL. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO NISSAN AND MY DEALERSHIP WITHOUT RESOLUTION. ALSO THEIR IS A DELAY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS FROM 40-50MPH. THIS DELAY LAST 3-6 SECONDS AND THEN THE TRUCK WILL DOWNSHIFT TO THE WRONG GEAR, NOT ACCELERATING FOR AN ADDITIONAL 3-5 SECONDS, AND THEN WILL FINALLY DOWNSHIFT AGAIN TO THE CORRECT GEAR AND BEGIN ACCELERATING FOR A TOTAL DELAY FROM ACCELERATION COMMAND TO ACTUAL ACCELERATION OCCURRING OF 6-11 SECONDS. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE (ASSUMING ON COMING TRAFFIC TRAVELING AT 55MPH) A 4-10 SECOND DELAY MEANS THAT THE DRIVER (ME) MIS-JUDGES THE SPACE AVAILABLE TO MERGER BY 322-806 FT. WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME BECAUSE I EXPECTED THE MY TRUCK TO ACCELERATE WHEN I TOLD IT TO AND NEARLY CAUSED ME TO HAVE A DRIVER SIDE COLLISION WITH HEAD ON TRAFFIC. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS (ASSUMING BOTH VEHICLES ARE DOING 55MPH) A 6-11 SECOND DELAY MEANS THE DRIVER (ME) MIS-JUDGES THE SPACE AVAILABLE TO PASS BY 968 - 1775 FT <-- THAT IS GREATER THAN 1/4 MILE OF GROUND CLOSED BETWEEN ME AND ON COMING TRAFFIC BEFORE THE TRUCK EVEN BEGINS TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS ALSO LEAD TO A NARROWLY AVOIDED HEAD ON COLLISION ON A RURAL HIGHWAY. BOTH OF THESE CONDITIONS ARE EASILY REPEATABLE AND ARE NOT INTERMITTENT PHENOMENON.
I LEASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A NISSAN DEALER LAST YEAR. THEY LEASED IT TO ME AS A NEW VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT HAD ALMOST 5,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS JUST RECENTLY TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT PRIOR TO THE LEASE. THE DEALER DID NOT TELL ME THAT IT WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. SHOULD I HAVE BEEN TOLD OF THE ACCIDENT PRIOR TO SIGNING THE LEASE PAPERS? I MIGHT HAVE BACKED OUT OF THE LEASE IF I KNEW ABOUT THE ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RETAINED WATER, WHICH CAUSED THE HEADLIGHT TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
CUMMINS 5.0 LITER ENGINE MISSING OUT AT 1700 RPMS, YOU CAN REV THE DIESEL ENGINE TO 1700 RPMS AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE UNIT STARTS MISSING OUT. BUT YET A CUMMINS ENGINEER STATED THAT SOME OF THEM DO IT, AND SOME DON'T. WELL BEING A CUMMINS TECH MY SELF I KNEW THIS WAS NOT TRUE. NISSAN REFUSES TO SEND THE TRUCK TO AN ACTUAL CUMMINS DEALER TO HAVE IT PROPERLY CHECKED OUT. SO U TOOK IT TO CROSS POINT CUMMINS DEALERSHIP HERE IN INDIANA THEIR DIAGNOSIS THE EGR FLAP IS STICKING ON THE CASTING AND CAUSING LOSE OF POWER , WITH EXCESSIVE REGENERATION DUE UNIT ONLY HAS 800 MILES ON IT. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE ISSUES!
DURING AN EMERGENCY STOP A LOUD POP WAS HEARD AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT SHIFTED FORWARD CAUSING THE DRIVER'S WEIGHT TO MOVE INTO THE FOOTWELL. AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURRED THE SEAT CUSHION BENEATH THE SEAT HAD RIPPED AND VISIBLE BITS OF FOAM WERE OBSERVED UNDER THE SEAT. TRUCK WAS BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION, DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THE SEAT HAD RIPPED AND SEVERAL CLIPS HAD BROKEN OFF. DEALER RE-TORQUED SEAT RESTRAINING BOLTS AND REPLACED CLIPS AND SENT NOTICE TO MATERIALS ENGINEER AT NISSAN FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS. APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK LATER THE SEAT HAS CONTINUED TO LOOSEN AFFECTING DRIVER STABILITY AND POSITIONING WHILE DRIVING. BROUGHT TRUCK BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD SEVERAL RESTRAINING BOLTS HAD EITHER SHEARED OR STRIPPED, SINCE IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE I WAS PUT INTO A RENTAL UNTIL AN INSPECTION COULD OCCUR. I AM STILL AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM NISSAN BOTH FOR THE INQUIRY AND FOR PARTS AND NISSAN HAS NOT RESPONDED TO EITHER. ISSUE AFTER APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEK WAS THEN REFERRED TO BBB AUTOLINE TO BEGIN BUYBACK PROCESS AS NISSAN HAS STILL NOT MADE FURTHER ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE NOR HAVE THEY PROVIDED A TIMELINE OF WHEN THAT MIGHT OCCUR.
ON STREET, TRAVELING BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH NEEDED MAXIMUM BRAKING, AFTER PUSHING EXTREMELY HARD ON BRAKE PEDDLE THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND, FOOT SEEMED TO GO TO FLOOR, MINOR SLOWING WITH ONE BREAK (RIGHT SIDE)MOMENTARILY LOCKING UP ABOUT FIVE FEET FROM IMPACT, NO IDEA WHAT THE CAUSE
UPON PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM THE DEALER, A STRONG DIESEL EXHAUST ODOR WAS NOTED WITHIN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. AFTER BRINGING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WITH THE COMPLAINT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE SIMPLY NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, AND HAVING THE SOFTWARE UPDATE PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE STILL PRODUCED STRONG DIESEL EXHAUST ODOR WITHIN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. SINCE THAT FIRST ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE, I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (4+ TIMES). NO DEALER HAS BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND GET RID OF THE DIESEL EXHAUST ODOR WITHIN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. FINALLY, I LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITHIN THEM FOR OVER 2 MONTHS NOW, BUT THEY ARE LITTLE HELP. THEY KEEP DELAYING ADDITIONAL EXPERTISE ON THE ISSUE AND HAVE DENIED MY CLAIM FOR A "BUYBACK", ASKING NOW THAT I REPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH A 3RD NISSAN DEALER. I HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN THEIR ABILITY AND/OR WILLINGNESS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. IN THE MEANTIME, I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND POTENTIALLY BREATHING IN UNSAFE LEVELS OF CARBON MONOXIDE (OR OTHER TOXIC GASES ASSOCIATED WITH THE STRONG DIESEL EXHAUST ODOR CONTINUING TO BE RELEASED INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK). AT ONE POINT LAST WEEK, I HAD TO STOP DRIVING THE TRUCK ENTIRELY, AS THE HEADACHES ASSOCIATED WITH DRIVING THE VEHICLE DID NOT WARRANT CONTINUING TO USE THE VEHICLE FOR REGULAR TRANSPORTATION. THE DIESEL EXHAUST ODOR IS VERY STRONG UPON COLD START-UP AND CONTINUES TO BE EMITTED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN (ALBEIT NOT AS STRONG AS UPON START UP). REGARDLESS, THE ODOR IS PREVALENT WITHIN THE VEHICLE AND I BELIEVE THAT DRIVING THE VEHICLE INTRODUCES A SIGNIFICANT HEALTH RISK TO BOTH THE DRIVER AND ANY PASSENGERS.
Wow Towing very little weight on flat grade. The crankshaft broke. I was told that this was a problem with this particular vehicle, not marrying the transmission and the diesel Cummins engine up correctly. This vehicle has been sitting for over two years because of this issue the cost to repair is twice with the vehicle is worth.
