Vehicle hesitates at acceleration. Also known as dead pedal. Going through an intersection, hit the gas pedal and nothing for 2-3 zeconds
In July 2024 after having my Bosch CP4 Injector pump and fuel system replaced by my dealership due to the injector pump failure, I went around a corner and when I went to accelerate the truck wouldn't. After several moments and the truck just coasting down the road without any power it started to respond to the accelerator pedal. It did the same thing in November of 2024 while I was towing my travel trailer only this time, I had to stop in the middle of the road turn the truck off and back on before it would accelerate under its own power. Last Thursday January 9, 2025 the truck did it several times while I was driving it each time I had to roll off the road without any power, turn the truck off wait a few moments and turn the truck back on before I could drive it under its own power. I had not driven the truck since then but today it has done it twice with lost of power while driving in traffic! Each time this has happen the check engine light has come on and I have check the codes with a code reader and it is always a "P226C Turbocharger Boost Control 'A' Slow Response". And there will be as many as four different instances of the same code.
Turbo problem caused me stop in the middle of the freeway with my children Nissan will be fixing this issue with out charging I seen a lot complaints about this same issue

HAD IT IN TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE . ASKED THEM IF TOOK IT ON THE FREEWAY OR HARD ACCELERATION FROM A STOP? SAID NO ROADS WERE WET AND DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THAT. AS MY COMMUTER VEHICLE THAT IS HOW IT IS DRIVEN. AS SOON AS I LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP TO GET ON A VERY BUSY ROAD . EITHER WAY FOR EVER OR ACCELERATE HARD TO GET OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. IT LUGGED OUT THEN AND GETTING ON THE FREEWAY TO GET HOME

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FUTURE NISSAN OF ROSEVILLE (600 AUTOMALL DR, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661, (916) 547-2242) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BREATHER TUBE WAS NOT CONNECTED CORRECTLY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,950.
MY DIESEL TITAN HAS A DANGEROUS EXCELLERATION PROBLEM. I HIT THE PEDAL TO CHANGE LANES WHEN IN TRAFFIC OR WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A STREET THERE IS A HUGE DELAY BEFORE IT KICKS IN. I COMMUNICATED THROUGH FORUMS AND ONLINE TO SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY COMPLAINT . THE ANSWER FROM NISSAN IS IT IS BY DESIGN? HOW IS THIS A SAFE DESIGN?
"DEAD PEDAL" SOMETIMES THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE TRUCK IS RESPONSIVE AND TIME WHERE THERE IS A FEW SECOND DELAY IN RESPONSE. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING ACROSS TRAFFIC. THE PEDAL RESPONSE IS DIFFERENT EVERY TIME YOU PRESS IT. RPM JUMP. AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR AT A STOP THE RPM'S WILL JUMP UP FOR NO REASON CAUSING THE TRUCK TO LUNG FORWARD.

AS BEST AS I CAN DESCRIBE IT, THE TRUCK DOES NOT GET FUEL WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PREVENTING IT FROM MOVING FORWARD. YOU CAN PUSH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE ANYTHING STARTS TO MOVE, AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. WE'VE SPOKEN WITH NISSAN SERVICE ADVISORS AND SALES ASSOCIATES ABOUT THE ISSUE REPEATEDLY ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM IN THE WORKS EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE RECEIVED COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXACT SAME ISSUES FROM OTHER OWNERS. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS ONGOING PROBLEM, OCCURRING EVERY TIME IT IS DRIVEN.
ON NOVEMBER 2, 2016, I WAS DRIVING MY 2016 NISSAN TITAN XD (DIESEL) ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN ON ME. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES). I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT REMAINS TO THIS DAY (NOVEMBER 30). THE DEALERSHIP, ALONG WITH ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN, HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR OR RESTART THE VEHICLE TO DATE. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE FUEL HAS BEEN TESTED AND WAS DETERMINED TO BE CLEAN DIESEL AND PROBLEM FREE. THE FUEL RAILS WERE FIRST REPLACED, WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS THEN REPLACED, AGAIN WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. MY LAST CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP WAS ONE WEEK AGO, AND I WAS TOLD THE NISSAN ENGINEER'S FELT THE FUEL SYSTEM/ENGINE WAS NOT GETTING "PRIMED" AND THEY WERE GOING TO LOOK INTO THAT SYSTEM. STILL,, THE VEHICLE REMAINS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO START THEN VEHICLE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED OTHER OWNERS OF THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE MAY OR MAY ALREADY HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED BECAUSE IT COULD RESULT IN A SEVERE ACCIDENT RESULTING IN INJURY, LOSS OF LIFE AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. *TR
