MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED OUR VERSA IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. FOR THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING AND IT IS BECOMING A HAZARD AS WE ARE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND IT IS DOING NOTHING. I AM CONCERNED AS IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND FOR THE CAR TO HAVE UNDER 70K MILES ON IT THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ONE MORNING AT 430AM I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE. I FELT A PULL IN MY STEERING WHEEL AND HEARD A BIG POPPING NOISE AND PULLED OVER TO CHECK ON IT AND EVERYTHING TO ME AT THAT TIME LOOKED OK. I KEEP DRIVING 5 MORE MINS OR SO AND I HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN AND AT THAT TIME MY PASSENGER TIRE WAS FLAT, I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK WHICH COSTED ME 160$. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A REGULAR TIRE BLOW OUT TILL MY I TAKE IT TO GET FIXED AND MY SUSPENSION HAD BUSTED. I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BUMPER (GET IT PAINTED EXTRA 135$), PASSENGER SIDE FENDER WINDSHIELD WIPER BOX,PASSENGER FENDER WELL, ABS SENOR CABLE, GET THE SUSPENSION FIXED AND THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT GOES ALONG UNDER THE DOORS.(THE LONG PIECE ALONG THE BOTTOM) A TOTAL OF 670$ OUT OF MY POCKET
(POSTING COMPLAINT FOR MY MOM) SHE WAS DRIVING ALONG THE ROAD AT ABOUT A FAIRLY LOW RATE OF SPEED (25ISH) WHEN SHE HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM THE FRONT END. SHE CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME WHERE I DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN AND DISLODGED ITSELF FROM THE STRUT PLATE. I WILL BE CONTACTING NISSAN ABOUT THE ISSUE.
I WAS TURNING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME, HEARING NOISE WHENEVER I TURNED THE WHEEL. MY HUSBAND TOOK A LOOK AT THE CAR WHEN I GOT HOME. WE DISCOVERED THAT THE STRUT COIL HAD BROKEN AND WAS RUBBING THE TIRE. I WAS LUCKY THAT IT DIDN'T BLOW MY TIRE.
ON 7/20/15 WAS OUTSIDE HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION FROM GARAGE AREA. LOOKED AROUND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. CHALKED IT UP TO CONCRETE CRACKING AFTER HEAVY FLOODING IN THE AREA. 7/23/15 GOT IN CAR TO GO TO TOWN. THE CAR DID NOT SEEM TO WANT TO MOVE TURNED STEERING WHEEL AND BANG THE SOUND OF METAL HITTING CONCRETE. LOOKED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT COIL SPRING BROKE AND PIECE OF IT WAS LAYING UNDER THE CAR. SO NOW I KNOW WHAT THE SOUND FROM MONDAY WAS. OF COURSE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE IF HAD BEEN DRIVING. FOR A COIL SPRING TO UNSEAT FROM STRUT MOUNT WHILE PARKED IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. WHERE THE SPRING BROKE SHOWED SIGN OF OLD CRACK IN STEEL. IT HAD A RUSTED SPOT ABOUT A 1/4" DEEP ONE SIDE. HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND A REP. IS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME. CAR CANNOT BE MOVED WITHOUT RISK OF FURTHER DAMAGE. AND OF COURSE ITS PASSED 3/36 WARRANTY. I WILL WAIT AND SEE WHAT NISSAN REP. HAS TO SAY, BUT I EXPECT TO HAVE REPAIR MYSELF AT MY OWN COST. WHICH I WILL REPLACE BOTH FRONT STRUTS TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, AND HAVE TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT.
EXHAUST SYSTEM CORRODING EARLY AFTER NORMAL USE. NEED TO REPLACE MIDPIPE AND SPRINGS HOLDING PARTS OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IN PLACE. I AM HAVING THEM REPLACED BEFORE IT CAUSES AN INCIDENT, BUT IF NOT FIXED IT COULD HAVE LEAD TO PIECES OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM FALLING OFF DURING DRIVING AND CAUSING A ROAD HAZARD
WHILE GARDENING OUTSIDE, WE HEARD A LOUD SOUND. THERE UNDER MY CAR WAS A PIECE OF MY CAR'S COIL SPRING, IT JUST CRACKED SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY.
I WAS DRIVING ON FLAT ROAD AND HEARD A LOUD BANG. I PULLED OVER AND SAW MY LEFT FRONT END HAD DIPPED DOWN. MY LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING CRACKED INTO TWO PIECES.I WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW. IN 2013 I HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT STRUT MOUNT BEARINGS REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY). INSULATION TUBES WERE INSTALLED ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE COIL SPRINGS AT THAT TIME. HOW COULD I HAVE SO MANY SUSPENSION ISSUES WITH SUCH A YOUNG CAR? MY RESEARCH SHOWS COIL SPRINGS HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE FOR NISSAN VERSA.

FIRST THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT DOES NOT WORK. THIS CAR BURNS OIL QUICKLY. DUE TO THIS I HAD BEEN RUNNING MY CAR WITH LOW OIL. WHICH RESULTED WITH A PISTON POPPING OUT AND IT IS REQUESTED I REPLACE MY ENGINE. *TR

MY DAUGHTER PULLED OUT OF HER PARKING SPOT, TURNED INTO TRAFFIC AND SPED UP TO 30 MILES AN HOUR. SHE HEARD A LOAD NOISE AND AFTER MAYBE A 100' SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. SHE PULLED OVER AND CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. THE CAR WAS DROPPED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. WE WERE CALLED A LITTLE LATTER THAT THE RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN. I AM HAVING BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS REPLACED AS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY HAVE REPLACE COIL SPRINGS ON OTHER VERSA MODELS FOR PREMATURE BREAKING AND THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING BOTH. IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHER SPEEDS AND THE COILS WENT INTO THE TIRE IT COULD HAVE A CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE MANY NISSAN VERSA MODELS WITH LOW MILEAGE WITH FAILED COIL SPRINGS. *TR
NISSAN VERSA 2011 HATCHBACK SL. FRONT RIGHT(PASSENGER SIDE) COIL SPRING SNAPPED AND HIT AGAINST INNER FENDER. SPRING SNAPPED NEAR THE TOP OF THE COIL WHERE THE FIRST FULL DOWNWARD COIL COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE UPPERMOST END OF THE SPRING. I FIRST NOTICED A NOISE WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY ONTO THE STREET. OUR LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID, "HAVEN'T HAD THAT PROBLEM", AND SUGGESTED I CONTACT NISSAN USA WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT POSSIBLE COMPENSATION FOR THE DEFECT. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OR REPLY FROM NISSAN. THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER COULDN'T TELL ME IF THEY HAD THE SPRINGS IN STOCK FOR THE REPAIR, BUT IN A WAY, WOULD I REALLY WANT THEM? I HAD TO PUT TWO, AFTERMARKET STRUT/SPRING ASSEMBLIES IN THE CAR TO GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD A.S.A.P. CRAZY FOR A CAR WITH 65K MILES ON ASPHALT ROADS. I FEEL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TIRES PUNCTURED BY THE BROKEN SPRINGS AND I TOO AM STILL CONCERNED ABOUT MY WIFE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE INTERSTATE, EVEN WITH THE DIFFERENT BRAND STRUTS/SPRINGS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I HAD A FLAT TIRE. A GARAGE FIXED IT. MY CAR WAS MAKING FUNNY NOISES AND BANGS WHEN I DROVE IT. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT GARAGE, THE MECHANIC WOULDN'T LET ME DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT AS IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS. HE FIXED THE CAR. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE FRONT END STRUTS AND SPRINGS BROKE IN HALF, THAT IS WHY I HAD THE FLAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHY WOULD A CAR THAT IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD FALL APART LIKE THAT? AFTER THE TIRE WAS FIXED I DROVE THE CAR FOR ANOTHER MONTH IN THIS DAMAGED CONDITION, IT COULD HAVE BROKEN COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS IN IT. PLUS I JUST PAID 1060.00 TO FIX IT. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO OTHER NISSANS? *TR
I WAS DROPPING OFF SOMEONE, THE CAR WAS IDLING, AND ONCE IT WAS CLEAR TO DRIVE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I DROVE IT TO A SCHOOL THAT WAS A MILE AWAY, PARKED, AND THEN TURN IT OFF. I GAVE IT A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN I TURNED IT ON AND THE STEERING WORKED FINE. SO FAR IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS CAR IS ALMOST 4 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES. WE ARE VERY SURPRISED, THOUGH I HAVE GONE ON SOME NISSAN WEBSITES AND SAW THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS. CURRENTLY THIS IS NOT UNDER RECALL, BUT ARE HOPING IT WILL BE. WE TOOK IT TO NISSAN THIS WEEKEND AND THEY TOLD US THE PART RUNS 600.00$, THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST IS 175.00$, AND THEN THE LABOR COST. WE WERE NOT EXPECTING TO HAVE SUCH AN EXPENSIVE PROBLEM WITH THE NEWEST CAR WE OWN. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I THERE IS ANYTHING FURTHER THAT I CAN DO. THIS MORNING, MY CAR WOULD NOT START. I USED A BATTERY CHARGER PACK, AND IT STARTED. HOWEVER, AFTER DRIVING 3 MILES TO THE LOCAL AUTO ZONE CAR STORE TO CONDUCT A FREE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TEST, THE CAR STALLED OUT. AFTER USING THE BATTERY PACK TO JUMP START IT AGAIN, THEIR BATTER/ALTERNATOR CHECK MACHINE CONCLUDED THAT IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. IT IS 1/19/2015 AND THE CAR IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION 2011 NISSAN VERSA WITH 33,000 MILES ON IT; THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS ON IT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAS STOPPED WORKING AFTER ONLY 33,000 MILES WHEN THE AVERAGE LIFESPAN OF NISSAN FACTORY ALTERNATORS TEND TO LAST TO OVER 100,000 MILES. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO COMPLETE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, THERE WOULD BE ABNORMAL SQUEAKING NOISES COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V573000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
ON 11/29/2014 I WAS I WAS TRAVELING ON A STATE HWY AT 55 MILES PER HOUR AT A MILD DESCENT IN ELEVATION IN THE RAIN WHILE APPROACHING A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND INTERSECTION APPROXIMATELY 1/4 MILE AHEAD. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE PEDAL WENT FLAT TO THE FLOOR, I REAPPLIED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES OVER AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME RESPONSE. I THEN WENT TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND REAPPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL SIMULTANEOUSLY AND AT THAT TIME IT WAS SO OVERLY SENSITIVE THAT IT OVER-BROKE AND NEARLY CAUSED A CRASH. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DEALERS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. ONE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND MERGING TO THE LEFT LANE, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AND SUDDENLY SEIZED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO FIVE TREES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT WRIST, CERVICAL STRAINS, MUSCLE SPASMS AND THE LEFT SHOULDER WAS IMPACTED AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
DROVE CAR TO STORE, CAME BACK OUTSIDE AND CAR WOULD NOT START, ONLY A FEW INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. JUMP STARTED THE CAR IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY, TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND CAR INSTANTLY STOPPED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS AN ONGOING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE DRIVING HABIT OF THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
2011 NISSAN VERSA CAR. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE ACCELERATION ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP.*JB
THE CAR BEGAN TO RUN VERY LOUDLY, FUEL CONSUMPTION WAS INCREASED, POWER OF VEHICLE DECREASED. THE FIRST MECHANIC STATED IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. AFTER RESEARCH I FOUND THAT MANY NISSAN VERSA OWNERS HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THE TAILPIPE COULD HAVE A BREAK IN IT. I TOOK IT TO MIDAS AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE MUFFLER WAS STAINLESS STEEL BUT THE WELD GOING FROM THE MUFFLER TO THE FLANGE/TAILPIPE WAS REGULAR STEEL WHICH CORRODES VERY EASILY CAUSING BREAKAGE. IF THIS HAD NOT BEEN FIXED IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE MUFFLER COULD HAVE FALLEN OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. *TR
AFTER ARRIVING HOME WHILE TAKING GROCERIES OUT OF THE CAR MY GRANDSON CLOSED THE DOOR I DON'T BELIEVE IT WAS HARD (HE'S 4YRS OLD) THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED THIS IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN IF A FOUR YEAR OLD CAN CAUSE AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM WITH THE SENSOR WHEN I CALLED TO REPORT IT I FIND OUT THAT IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. *TR
THE VERSA WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND A DRUNK DRIVER CAME IN THE BACK AND SLAMMED INTO THE CAR. THE VERSA IS TOTALED AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE BOTH HURT, NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THERE WERE HEAD, NECK, BACK AND BROKEN WRIST FROM THIS ACCIDENT. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER BOTH SUSTAINED INJURIES AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. CAUAING ME TO HIT A PARKED CAR. *TR
I WAS IN A CAR CRASH; I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND IT VEERED OF THE ROAD, CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL,ROLLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CAR EXPERIENCED FRONT IMPACT, SIDE IMPACT, REAR IMPACT, THE ROOF OF THE CAR CRUSH IN AND NOT ONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I HAVE PICTURES AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY DEFECT AND I FEAR THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS FORTUNATE TO NOT BE CATASTROPHICALLY INJURED THAT SOMEONE ELSE MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME FORTUNE IF THIS MATTER IS NOT INVESTIGATED AND RESOLVED. *TR
THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR CONTINUALLY LIGHTS UP CAUSING PANIC AND EXTREME INCONVENIENCE. WE NEVER KNOW IF THE TIRES ARE FLAT OR IF IT IS A MALFUNCTION. WE HAVE CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM. HOW CAN THIS BE? THE MALFUNCTION IS ALMOST ALWAYS ON THE FREEWAY AND AT VERY DANGEROUS TIMES AND UNSAFE AREAS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT HAD NO INTENTION OF HELPING US. THIS IS SOMETHING NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT, IT IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED! *TR
THE BLUE PAINT ON PORTIONS OF THE HOOD OF OUR 2011 NISSAN VERSA SL IS NOT ADEQUATELY STICKING TO THE PRIMER, AND THUS LARGE CHUNKS OF PAINT ARE CHIPPING AWAY OVER TIME. THE AMOUNT OF PAINT LOSS IS GREATER AFTER LONG STRETCHES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, INDICATING LOSS DUE TO WIND. THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG HAD ONLY PARTIALLY DEPLOYED DURING THE CRASH AND THE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE DEFECT. 2011 NISSAN VERSA WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR NOT SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. AT THE TIME, POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WAS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. DEALER ADVISED, THAT THE SHIFTER SOLENOID IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE COST FOR THE SHIFTER SOLENOID IS APPROXIMATELY $600.00 DOLLARS. I CONDUCTED A RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED NISSAN HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH MOST OF THEIR VEHICLES AT LOW MILEAGE. NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE SUSPENSION IS ALSO MAKING NOISES AND HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN, WHO HAS ADVISED THE STRUT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE MAKES CLICKING NOISED WHEN TURNING TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. THE COST FOR OEM STRUT IS APPROXIMATELY $ 200.00. I AM HAVING TO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AND CONSIDERED TO TRADE IT IN IF NISSAN DOES NOT RECALL VEHICLES. *TR

THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO GO ON AND OFF AS WELL AS A KNOCKING SOUND HAD DEVELOPED. WE HAD OUR SON, WHO HAD ATTENDED SCHOOL TO BECOME A MECHANIC, CHECKED IT LOOKING AT THE OIL LEVEL. THE OIL WAS ABOUT A QUART LOW AND HE ADVISED US TO TAKE IT TO CARMAX WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED THE CAR. AFTER TWO DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND AN OIL CHANGE AT $140.00, MY HUSBAND WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. IT IS BURNING OIL AND IS BEING EMITTED OUT THE EXHAUST AND HAS EXCESSIVE ENGINE BLOW BY. WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY MAXCARE, CARMAX'S WARRANTY COMPANY, THAT IN ORDER TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND DETERMINE IF IT IS COVERED BY WARRANTY WE HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER $400.00 TO HAVE THE ENGINE TORN DOWN WITH NO GUARANTEE REPAIRS WILL BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY THE ANOTHER $400.00 TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER IF IT IS NOT FIXED. ALSO, AT LEAST 3 TIMES WHEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO TURN ON AND OFF THE VERSA STALLED WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WE ALSO COMPLAINED TO CARMAX THAT THE CHECK TIRES INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF CAUSING US TO CONSTANTLY STOP TO CHECK THE PRESSURE AND OFTEN IT WAS OK. CARMAX OFFERED TO RUN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR MORE MONEY TO TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. BOTH PROBLEMS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE IN THE FUTURE AND IT SEEMS THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT REPAIRED IS TO PAY OUT OF OUR POCKET. *TR

A FEW MONTHS BACK WHILE DRIVING ON THE TEXAS FREEWAYS 70 MPH...THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND I LOST POWER AND SPEED, THIS WAS FRIGHTENING AND VERY DANGEROUS....WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE THROTTLE BODY NEED TO BE REPLACED: PRICE, OVER $1000.00...OUR PERSONAL MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO DO THE JOB BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS SHORT LIVED AND HAPPENED AGAIN. I COMPLAINED TO THE NISSAN CORPORATION AND THEY SAY ONLY WAIT UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND BRING IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 6 TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN THE PAST YEAR. MY CAR HAS ALSO NOT CRANKED UP FOR A TOTAL 10 MINUTES AT A TIME. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 15 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR. THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW GOES DOWN EVERY TIME AS EXPECTED, BUT DOES NOT ALWAYS ROLL UP AS EXPECTED. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE SWITCH WILL DO ANYTHING AT ALL, SOMETIMES I ONLY HAVE TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS. THE AUTO-UP FUNCTION STOPS WORKING FREQUENTLY, AND THE MOTOR FOR THE POWER WINDOW HAS TO BE RESET FOR IT TO START FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP'S FIX TO THE PROBLEM WAS TO SHOW ME HOW TO RESET THE MOTOR INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY FIXING THE WINDOW. IT'S ESPECIALLY PROBLEMATIC WHEN IT'S RAINING OUTSIDE AND THE WINDOW DECIDES IT'S NOT GOING TO ROLL UP, BUT IT DOES IT IN RAIN OR SHINE, SO I KNOW IT'S NOT A PROBLEM OF THE CONTROLS GETTING DRIPPED ON. I BOUGHT THE CAR PREOWNED WITH 40K MILES ON IT, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM, OR IF IT STARTED AFTER I PURCHASED IT. *TR
