BROUGHT THE CAR IN AUGUST 2011. AT EVERY SERVICE I WOULD REPORT OF KNOCKING NOISE AS IF THE CAR WAS IN NEED OF OIL. I WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD THAT THERE IS/WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. AGAIN IN AUGUST 2012; I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE NOISE ONE OF THE NEW TECH'S LOOKED AT THE CAR AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY ENGINE WAS GONE AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE IT WHICH THEY DID DO. THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO ASK SHOULD THE WARRANTY START OVER? *TR *JS
I PURCHASED MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA 1.8 BASE MODEL HB AT THE END OF 2010, ALMOST 1 YEAR LATER MY VEHICLE BEGAN GIVING ME PROBLEMS: THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE BURNING OUT AFTER USING THE HIGH BEAMS FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I'VE CHANGED MY BULBS OVER 10 TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE. THE NEXT ISSUE I HAVE IS THE WINDSHIELD/REAR WINDOW SPRAY PUMP, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING SO I CHECKED TO SEE IF IT WAS LOW ON LIQUID IT WAS I REFILLED BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK, SO I TOOK THE CAR IN AT VACAVILLE NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND ANY LEAKS. NO LEAKS WERE FOUND. SO WHERE IS THE LIQUID GOING? ALL IN ALL I ASKED IF MY CAR WAS ON RECALL, THEY SAID NO! I GO THROUGH LIGHT BULBS ALMOST EVERY MONTH, AND ITS BAD THAT I HAVE TO PULL OVER INTO A GAS STATION EVERY TIME MY WINDSHIELD GETS DIRTY, THIS IS NOT FAIR TO ME AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING! I THEN, WENT BACK TO NISSAN TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO NOT ONLY DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE WITH MY HEADLIGHTS BUT TO PAY FOR AND INSTALL A NEW SPRAY PUMP. DIAGNOSE $250...I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!, NEW SPRAY PUMP + INSTALLATION LABOR =$4500, REALLY?! *TR
APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA I NOTICED A KNOCKING SOUND UNDER THE HOOD. IT ALMOST SOUNDED AS THOUGH THE CAR WAS LOW OF OIL BUT THIS WASN'T THE CASE. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT "THE VALVES OR VALVE SLEEVES WERE CUT TOO LONG DURING THE MACHINING PROCESS OF THE MOTOR AND THEY WERE TAPPING AGAINST THE BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR". HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THIS SHOULD NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS, HOWEVER... AFTER READING SEVERAL OTHER STORIES OF WHAT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THEN HAVING TO HAVE THE MOTOR REPLACED I DECIDED TO WRITE THIS IN HOPES OF AN INVESTIGATION OF A POSSIBLE RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. UPDATED 7/8/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO FAIL SAFE MODE. THE ENGINE WOULD IDLE, BUT THERE WOULD NO POWER. UPDATED 08/11/15*JB
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ,WHEN A PERSON DIMS THEIR HEADLIGHTS THE DIMMER WILL CAUSE HEADLIGHTS TO TURN COMPLETELY OFF . POSING A DANGER TO EVERYONE IN THE CAR!! THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR IN 2012 AND IS CONTINUING.

THE FRONT SEATS RECLINE BY ITSELF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING, THE SEAT WILL FLEAP AL THE WAY TO THE BACK
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT (WITH A HERTZ RENTAL CAR IN KAUAI HAWAII) AND SWITCHING BETWEEN HIGH BEAM AND LOW BEAM AND TRAVELING AT 40 MPH ALL THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF. THE STALK MOUNTED SWITCH CONTROLS BOTH HEADLIGHT ON/OFF (ROTARY MOTION) AND HIGH BEAM-LOW BEAM WITH BACK AND FORTH STALK MOTION. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND SUCCESSFULLY USING THE HIGH-BEAM LOW BEAM SELECTOR OFTEN, ON THE NEXT CHANGE BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW BEAM THE ROTARY MOTION OF THE KNOB ALSO ENGAGED AND TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS OFF. I HAVE SIMILAR CONTROLS ON MY CAR AT HOME AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. THE ROTARY MOTION OF THE ON / OFF KNOB REQUIRES JUST A VERY LIGHT TWIST AND THE IN-OUT MOTION NEEDED TO CHANGE BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW BEAM ALSO TWISTED THE OFF SWITCH. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR TO A HALT WITH THE BRAKES AND STAY ON THE ROAD. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND VERY FRIGHTENING TO BRAKE FROM 40 MPH IN THE PITCH DARK NOT KNOWING IF THE NEXT INSTANT WAS TO BRING A CRASH. MY WIFE WAS ALSO VERY SHOOK UP. AFTER I STOPPED I FIGURED OUT WHAT HAPPENED. IT WAS PITCH BLACK OUTSIDE WITH NO STREET LIGHTS. THIS CAN KILL SOMEONE!! THE FLUTED SURFACE OF THE ON/OFF KNOB EXACERBATES THE PROBLEM AND MAKES IT EASIER FOR A LIGHT BRUSH WITH A FINGER TIP TO TURN THE KNOB AND HEADLIGHTS OFF. THE VIN I COPIED FROM THE LIHUE AIRPORT HERTZ RECEIPT FOR THE RENTAL. LICENSE NUMBER WAS [XXX], HAWAII .IT WAS A RED COLOR CAR WITH AUTOMATIC SHIFT. I CONTINUE HAVING CONCERNS WITH THIS CAR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL BLOW OUT COLD AIR CONTINUOUSLY FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES THEN IT WILL START BLOWING OUT WARM AIR. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED THEY REPAIR SOMETHING OR CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP SINCE DAY ONE OF PURCHASE FOR THE SAME THING AND THE CAR IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. THE NISSAN CORPORATION DOES NOT WANT TO CONSIDER IT A LEMON BUT I HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE SEPTEMBER 2, 2011 BOUGHT IT WITH 15 MILES AND HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2011. THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE NOT SET, THE GAS TANK WIRE BROKE WHEN FIRST PULLED. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR NISSAN TO REALIZE THERE IS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE? *TR

I BROUGHT MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER CAUSE THE FIX MY AIRBAG RECALL BUT WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK MY HORN STOP WORKING IT WAS WORKING WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THEM THEN I WENT BACK THE THIRD TIME CAUSE THE AIRBAGS LIGHT CAME BACK ON NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR WHAT THEY DID IM I RESPONSIBLE TO FIX MY REPAIR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA WITH CONTINENTAL C0NTI PRO, SIZE P185/65R15, DOT#P5FP3RN TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRE TREADS WERE WEARING DOWN PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, WHO STATED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION THEY DECIDED TO ROTATE THEM. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE VEHICLE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO OFFERED A PARTIAL REBATE TOWARDS THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,804.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WOULD SPORADICALLY RECLINE WITH FORCE AND WITHOUT ACTIVATION. THE CONTACT HAD RECENT BACK SURGERY AND WAS UNABLE TO DRIVER, THEREFORE HE HAD TO RISE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND WHENEVER THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR, IT WOULD CAUSE HORRENDOUS PAIN TO THE CONTACT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER SEAT HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUOUSLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND AUTHORIZED THE FIRST SEAT REPAIR BUT WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH ANY FURTHER REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,800.
I HAVE A MAJOR STEERING ISSUE WITH MY 2009 NISSAN VERSA SL. THE DEALERSHIP, SOUTHERN STATES NISSAN IN RALEIGH NC, HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE VEHICLE 4 TIMES, BUT HAS FAILED. WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS I EXPERIENCE CLUNKING, POPPING, AND VIBRATIONS AT LOW SPEEDS. THE SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN SATISFACTORY BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR BACK ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY VERSA FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, AND I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VERSA MAKES A SLIGHT "THUNK" NOISE WHEN MAKING SLOW RIGHT HAND TURNS, AND I CAN ALSO FEEL IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT SEEMS MORE PREVALENT WHEN LEAVING A PARKING LOT OR DRIVEWAY, WHEN I TURN RIGHT (OR MOVE THE WHEEL BACK RIGHT AFTER A LEFT HAND TURN, TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE CAR). ALL THESE ISSUES ARE ACTING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING SLOWLY AND MAKING RIGHT TURNS, AND MORE SO WHEN GOING UP OR DOWN ELEVATIONS, IT HAPPENS VERY LOUDLY AFTER THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN ROTATED FROM THE FULL CLOCKWISE (RIGHT HAND TURN) AND IS BEING RETURNED TO THE STRAIGHT AHEAD POSITION. THE CLUNK IS ALWAYS THERE AT 1 TO 1 1/4 TURN FROM THE FULL CLOCKWISE STOP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING 50 MPH AT NITE AND WANTED TO DIM MY BRIGHTS FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I PULLED BACK ON THE STEM IN ORDER TO DO SO. AT THAT SAME TIME I LOST MY HEADLIGHTS COMPLETELY. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH BECAUSE IT WAS A DARK NIGHT AND ALL I COULD SEE WAS THE HEADLIGHTS OF THE ONCOMING CAR-- BUT NOT MY ORIENTATION TO THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY USED THE BREAK AND EASED THE CAR ONTO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED. I FOUND THE HEADLIGHT KNOB TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. I WAS CONFUSED BECAUSE I DID NOT BELIEVE THAT I HAD ROTATED IT MYSELF. THIS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL MORE OCCATIONS IN THE FIRST WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR. EVENTUALLY I REALIZED THAT THE TURN-ON ROTATOR FOR THE HEADLIGHTS IS SO LOOSE, AND FREE-TURNING, THAT THE SIMPLE MOTION OF ACTIVATING OR DEACTIVATING THE BRIGHTS LOCATED ON THE SAME STEM AS THE HEADLIGHTS CAN CAUSE IT TO TURN THE LIGHTS OFF AS AN UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCE. MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING SEVERAL TIMES EACH. THEY FELT AS PANICED AS I HAD BEEN WHEN IT HAPPENED TO THEM THE FIRST TIME. NOW WE KNOW THAT IF WE TOUCH THE HEADLIGHT STEM FOR ANY REASON THAT WE MUST BE PREPARED TO TURN THE HEADLIGHT ROTATOR BACK TO THE ON POSITION IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZZARD THAT COULD BE LIFE-THREATENING. WE ASKED THE DEALER WHO SOLD US THE CAR TO PLEASE SEE IF IT COULD BE FIXED. THEY SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE. I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS CAR TO AN INEXPERIENCED LOVED ONE TO DRIVE AS THEY MAY PANIC AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY TO THEMSELVES. *TR
IT HAS BEEN NEARLY A YEAR SINCE I WAS TOLD NOT TO USE MY PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THE AIRBAG COULD EXPLODE AND HARM OR KILL THE PASSENGER. IT THE AIRBAG GOES OFF WITH JUST A DRIVER, IT COULD EASILY CAUSE A CRASH, HARMING OR KILLING THE DRIVER AND OTHERS. I LIVE IN FLORIDA, ULTRA HIGH HUMIDITY, WHICH IS THE WORSE CONDITION FOR THE AIRBAGS. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A REDUCED USE VEHICLE, THE VALUE IS REDUCED BECAUSE WHO WANTS TO BUY A CAR WHEN YOU CAN'T USE PARTS OF IT, OR ANY OF IT,SAFELY. WE ARE CONSTANTLY TOLD THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, BUT MIRACULOUSLY THEY ARE STILL BUILDING CARS WITH AIRBAGS. IF THE CAR MAKERS OR OUR OWN GOVERNMENT CARED, THERE SHOULD BE A SHORT DEADLINE WHEN AFTER A CERTAIN DATE, THEY COULD NO LONGER SELL CARS UNTIL ALL DANGEROUS PROBLEM VEHICLES ARE CORRECTED . THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS THAT THIS IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED TO REPLACE THE SEAT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE ROD FRACTURED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHILE TRAVELING 25 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEEL BELT WAS VISIBLE ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BUT IT WAS RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE RENTAL COMPANY. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,386.
