THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INSPECTION LOCATION WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REJECTED DUE TO SEVERE RUST AND LEAKAGE FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM TO THE TAIL PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, A CRACKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE HOOD. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS AN ONGOING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE DRIVING HABIT OF THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
THE BLUE PAINT ON PORTIONS OF THE HOOD OF OUR 2011 NISSAN VERSA SL IS NOT ADEQUATELY STICKING TO THE PRIMER, AND THUS LARGE CHUNKS OF PAINT ARE CHIPPING AWAY OVER TIME. THE AMOUNT OF PAINT LOSS IS GREATER AFTER LONG STRETCHES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, INDICATING LOSS DUE TO WIND. WHAT STARTED AS A 1" X 1" CHUNK OF PAINT BECOMING CRACKED AND EVENTUALLY SEPARATING AND FALLING OFF, HAS NOW TURNED INTO A 7" X 4" AREA OF EXPOSED PRIMER, AS WELL AS A LINE OF SOON TO BE LOST PAINT ON THE HOOD ALONG THE PASSENGER SIDE. ONE DAY I FOUND MY TODDLER WITH BLUE PAINT IN HER MOUTH. IT TURNS OUT SHE REACHED AND GRABBED A CHUNK OF LOOSE PAINT WHILE I WAS PULLING HER OUT OF HER CARSEAT.
