TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE DRIVER WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE EXACT DETAILS OF THE CRASH WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S FOOT BECAME STUCK WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENCASED IN PLASTIC AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER. WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT, IT SEEMS AS THOUGH EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE BRAKING, THE CAR IS STILL TRYING TO PUSH 'GAS'. THE CAR WILL FEEL LIKE IT IS MAKING LITTLE 'JERKS'. IT DOES NOT DO IT EVERYTIME, BUT ENOUGH TO NOTICE AND MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE. WHEN STOPPED OR PARKED, I ALSO HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR 'SHIFTS OR MOVES EASILY AND I AM NOW IN THE HABIT OF APPLYING MY EMERGENCY BRAKE EVERYTIME I LEAVE THE CAR. *TR

MY VEHICLE, UNLESS I'M AN EXERTING MORE PRESSURE THAN NECESSARY ON THE BRAKES, WILL LURCH FORWARD WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER FAN KICKS ON. IF I'M NOT CONSCIOUSLY PAYING ATTENTION TO PRESSING HARD ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR WILL START TO DRIFT FORWARD EVEN AT A STANDSTILL. THE BRAKES DO NOT BRAKE SMOOTHLY. IT IS NOT A GRADUAL SMOOTH STOP, IT FEELS LIKE SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES WITH EVERY STOP. *TR
VEHICLE MOVES ABRUPTLY LEFT AND RIGHT WHEN THERE ARE NO GROOVES OR WIND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN ON THE FREEWAY SAFELY. NISSAN TEST DROVE VEHICLE. ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND SAID THAT'S JUST HOW THE VEHICLE IS AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX IT. *TR

I HAD AN ACCIDENT ON 4/8 IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY JOB AND A TRUCK SLAMMED INTO MY PASSENGER SIDE AND NO AIR BAG DEPLOYED. SHE HAD ACCELERATED DUE TO A MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN HER TRUCK. THE ESTIMATES FOR BODY WORK WAS 28.92, 500.00 AND 5, 658.32 MORE THAN HALF TOTALED I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR, THE BRAKES, IDIOT LIGHT, STEERING AND ACCELERATION AND JUMPS AS YOU BACK OUT. *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE DOES NOT REACH THE WINDSHIELD AT HIGH SPEEDS (30MPH+). THEY ONLY WORK GOOD WHEN STOPPED. THIS IS MY SECOND 2014 VERSA NOTE AND I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FIRST ONE BUT NOT QUITE AS BAD AS THE NEWER ONE. I TALKED TO THE MAN AT THE DEALER AND HE SAID THAT IS THE WAY THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE. THERE IS NO WAY TO ADJUST THEM TO SPRAY HIGHER. I PUT SMALL METAL WASHERS UNDER THE FRONT OF THE SPRAYER NOZZLES ON THE FIRST ONE BUT THAT IS NOT WORKING FOR THE NEW ONE. I TRIED TWO WASHERS BUT THAT JUST LIFTS THE NOZZLE ASSEMBLY OUT OF THE HOUSING AND THE WASHERS FALL OUT. I DRIVE ABOUT 1000 MILES PER WEEK AND THIS IS A REAL ANNOYANCE AND A HAZARD IF I CAN'T GET THE WINDSHIELD CLEAR. I HAVE TO BE SURE TO CLEAR THEM AT STOP LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS. *TR
THE CVT WILL SHIFT INTO A LOWER GEAR WHILE STOPPED WITH CONSTANT BRAKE PRESSURE. 3 TO 10 SECONDS AFTER A COMPLETE STOP. THIS "LOWER SHIFTING" CAUSES THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE DRIVER SHOULD THE DRIVER THINK HE/SHE IS STOPPED AND PERFORMING OTHER NORMAL TASKS (I.E SETTING NAVIGATION OR RADIO,) THIS HAS THE POSSIBILITY OF CAUSING VEHICLE DAMAGE OR PEDESTRIAN INJURY; WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE DRIVER. I CAN EASILY MAKE A VIDEO OF THIS PROBLEM AVAILABLE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING UP THE STREET AND WHEN I PUSHED DOWN ON THE BRAKE IT STARTED TO SHAKE I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A DAY AT THE TIME, THEN WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK THE LIGHT AROUND THE RADIO DIM IN AND OUT ALL THE TIME AND WHEN BRAKING SOMETIME THE BRAKE WILL RELEASE ON ITS OWN AND THE CAR WILL JUMP FORWARD. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO NISSAN THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE WHAT I STATED WAS HAPPENING AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT BUT TILL THIS DAY IT IS STILL HAPPENING AND I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER WHO ALSO SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. *TR
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
STOPPED AT PARKING LOT BOOTH WHICH WAS PLACED WITHIN ONE FOOT OF SIDEWALK, PREVENTING STRAIGHTENING OF FRONT WHEELS, WHICH WERE TURNED TO THE LEFT FOLLOWING A LEFT TURN INTO THE LOT. AFTER PAYMENT THROUGH PASSENGER WINDOW, I PLACED A FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR RESULTING IN SUDDEN UNEXPECTEDLY RAPID ACCELERATION AND A LURCH OF THE CAR TO THE LEFT WITH ALMOST IMMEDIATE IMPACT WITH A CONCRETE CYLINDRIC POST PLACED OPPOSITE THE RISEN ENTRANCE GATE WITHIN 2 FEET OF THE FRONT OF THE PREVIOUSLY STATIONARY CAR. THE FORCE WAS SUCH TO BEND THE RIM OF THE FRONT L WHEEL, STRIKING OF MY HEAD AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE FRACTURE OF 2 METATARSALS LIKELY FROM IMPACT WITH THE BRAKE. *TR
WHILE COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE SKIPS AS IF ITS GOING TO CUTOFF. AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT IT SHUTS DOWN. THIS BEGAN ON MON., 24 FEB 2014 IT CONTINUES TODAY WED., 26 FEB 2014. THE VEHICLE HAD A FULL TANK TO 1/2 TANK OF GAS WHEN THIS BEGAN. I DRIVE 51 MILES TO WORK ONEWAY AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THERE'S TRAFFIC. *TR
THIS WAS JUST A RENTAL VEHICLE, BUT THIS PROBLEM WAS SERIOUS ENOUGH THAT I FEEL IT NECESSARY TO REPORT. THERE IS A RECESSED WELL ABOVE THE ACCELERATOR THAT TRAPS YOUR FOOT. SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, I WOULD ATTEMPT TO PIVOT MY FOOT ON ITS HEEL OFF THE ACCELERATOR OVER TO THE BRAKE, ONLY TO FIND MY FOOT TRAPPED IN THE RECESSED SPACE ABOVE THE ACCELERATOR. I WOULD THEN HAVE TO RELAX MY FOOT AND PULL IT BACK IN ORDER TO RELEASE MY FOOT AND MOVE OVER TO THE BRAKE. THIS DELAYED BRAKING TIME SEVERAL TIMES UNLESS I WAS CONSCIOUSLY PAYING ATTENTION TO AVOID GETTING MY FOOT TRAPPED. I WEAR A SIZE 12.5 SHOE, BUT THAT'S NOT INORDINATELY LARGE. *TR
CRACK ACROSS WINDSHIELD FROM PASSENGER LOWER SIDE ACROSS TOWARDS REAR VIEW MIRROR. OVER TIME CRACK HAS SPREAD IN A CURVE UP AND DOWN. REPORTED THE CRACK AND WINDSHIELD HAS BEEN UNAVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT DUE TO A HOLD BY NISSAN. NO APPARENT REASON, OTHER THAN COLD TEMP. *TR
DRIVING TO ALA. FROM GA. HAD DIFFICULT TIME SEEING OUT WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD DUE TO CONDENSATION BUILDING UP INSIDE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, PASSENGER SIDE, AND WINDSHIELD. IT WAS RAINING & DIFF IN TEMP., HAD TO STOP SEVERAL TIMES AND WIPE OFF WITH CLOTH TOWELS. WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO GET RADIO REPLACED AND SHOWED THEM THE TRUNK WAS WET (CARPET SHOWED RINGS) AND THE RIGHT DRIVERS DOOR HAD BIG GAP BETWEEN THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND DOOR FRAME AREA - IT IS SEPARATING FROM THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES. THE FRONT DOORS ON BOTH SIDES ARE BELOW THE BACK DOORS AND THE GAPS ARE INCREASING WHENEVER I DRIVE THE CAR. INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD SEAL PLASTIC HAS STARTED TO PEEL OFF TWICE. THE WIPER BLADES HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES BECAUSE THEY JUST START TO TEAR IN SMALL AREAS. ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT AND SEEN BY THE SERVICE DEPT. EVEN WHEN THE MOISTURE COLLECTS INSIDE DURING A RAIN SHOWER (DEFROSTER WON'T PREVENT THIS) . THEY HAVE REFUSED TO FIX THE LEAK IN THE TRUNK OR THE DOORS. I AM SCARED THAT ONE OF THE DOORS WILL FALL OFF. THE GAP HAS INCREASED IN 6 WEEKS YOU CAN STAND 2 FT. AWAY AND SEE THE SCREWS. I CAN HARDLY LOCK THE CAR (MANUALLY). NO NISSAN DEALERSHIP WILL FIX IT WITHIN 120 MILES. I DO NOT KNOW WHY. THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS THIS AND IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO, THERE IS A AWFUL SMELL WHEN I START IT WITHIN THE SYSTEM, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS ME NOT THE CAR. *TR
PULLING AWAY FROM A TOLL BOOTH ON I-80, CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TOWED TO DEALER AT OWNER'S EXPENSE, PULLED TRAN CODES P0500, P1574, P1715, P1720 AND P0720. ONLY HAD CAR FOR 5 DAYS. AFTER 17 DAYS AT DEALER, REPLACED 2 SENSORS, 31935-1XF00 SENSOR ASMY-REV (N/C) 1 31935-1XF01 SENSOR ASMY-REV AT RECOMMENDATION OF NISSAN TECH LINE. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM PRIOR TO REPAIR. THIS WAS A LIFE THREATENING OCCURRENCE, CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. *TR
THE CAR ON COLD DAYS AND SOME NOT COLD DAYS, AND COULD JUST HAD SAT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, WOULD FEEL/HEAR CRUNCHING SOUND (LIKE METAL BARS BEGINNING TO DISLODGE OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE) UNDER THE FLOOR BOARD AFTER ACCELERATION AND CAR STARTS TO MOVE. THIS IS ONLY ON DRIVER SIDE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND REPORTED THIS TO HAVE IT LOOKED AFTER. TO NO AVAIL, THE CRUNCHING PROBLEM IS YET TO BE DISCOVERED BY A SERVICE MAN. THEY HAVE YET TO FIND THE PROBLEM. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED FOR CHECK-UP AND DOCUMENTED MANY AND EVERY TIME I HAVE OIL CHANGES AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN REPORTING THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE 12/2013 AND NOW HERE IT IS MARCH 2015 THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *TR
WHEN STARTING UP FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PUSHED. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE 18000 MILES I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE NEW. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER, HE DIDN'T SEEM CONCERNED BUT TOLD ME I COULD LEAVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS TO TRY AND MAKE IT HAPPEN. WITH NO OFFER OF A LOANER, I COULD NOT BE WITHOUT THE CAR. I HAVE SEEN THAT OTHER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM AND WILL RETURN TO THE DEALER AND DEMAND A FULL EVALUATION. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE INFREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DIAGNOSE, BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS INJURY ANY LESS SERIOUS.
THE CAR IS SLOW TO HEAT UP AND AFTER DRIVING ABOUT SIX TO FIFTEEN MILES THE TEMPERATURE DROPS TO A VERY LOW LEVEL. SOMETIME THE TEMPERATURE IS SO LOW THAT IT DOES NOT SHOW UP ON THE DASH GAUGE. THIS CONDITION IS MOST PREVALENT WHEN THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE IS LOW. THIS MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I FOUND THAT THE CAR WOULD MOVE SIDEWAYS 1 AND A HALF FEET ON A NON WINDY DAY. WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND YOU ARE ON CONCRETE THE CAR TRACKS 1.5 FEET SIDEWAYS RIGHT OR LEFT. WHEN DRIVING ON A DAY WHEN THE WIND IS 30MPH YOU GET 3 TO 4 FEET DRIFT RIGHT OR LEFT. TAKING THE CAR TO NISSAN FOR REPAIR THEY FOUND THAT YES IT DID DRIFT AND BLAMED IT ON THE ROAD AND THAT NISSAN HAD ON FIX. I DO HAVE 2 OTHER CARS WHICH HAVE THE SAME SIZE TIRES THAT DO NOT DO THE CHANGE LANE ACTION THAT IS WITH THIS CAR IS DOING. OTHER PEOPLE SAID THEY NOTICED IT TO. THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN THE CAR NEXT TO YOU WILL GET DAMAGED DUE TO THIS ACTION .I `CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTER THEY HAD NO FIX.AND SAID IT MIGHT BE THE TIRES. NISSAN PUT THE TIRES ON THE CAR. *TR
WENT OUT TO START CAR PUSH IN CLUTCH AND CAR ROLLED OUT INTO STREET HAD BRAKE ON BUT DID NOT HOLD AND AFTER STARTING MOTOR THE BRAKES WORKED OK WITH ENGINE RUNNING.. EVERYTIME I START THE CAR IF YOU ARE ON A SLOPE THE CAR WILL ROLL AND HIT SOMETHING. I CHECKED THREW OUT THE DAY AND FOUND THAT WHEN CAR IS NOT RUNNING YOU HAVE NO BRAKES. YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY POWER BRAKES WHEN ENGINE STOPS THEY BECOME HARD IMMEDIATELY LOSE POWER ASSIST NOT LIKE OTHER CARS WHERE YOU HAVE 2 OR 3 APPLICATIONS BEFORE BRAKE LOSS. IF PUT IN A EMERGENCY AND ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING YOUR BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK AND YOU WILL HIT SOMETHING CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION AND GOOD BYE. I CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTER AND THEY SAID THEIR TECH'S SAID IT IS OK AND NORMAL. *TR

WE RECENTLY (2 NOV) PURCHASED A 2014 NISSAN VERSA WITH THE 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION ,OUR PROBLEM IS WITH DOWN SHIFTING FROM 5TH TO 4TH . WHEN SHIFTING FROM 5TH TO 4TH THE SHIFTER WILL RANDOMLY LOCK UP AND YOU HAVE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PHYSICAL MOVE THE SHIFTER IN EVERY DIRECTION TILL YOU CAN SHIFT AGAIN OR IF YOU?RE LUCKY AS YOU?RE COASTING AND FIGHTING WITH THE SHIFTER IT POPS LOOSE AND YOU CAN SHIFT INTO A LOWER GEAR. IT SEEMS LIKE THE SHIFT LINKAGE LOCKS UP AND THE CAR WON?T GO FULLY INTO 4TH. MY WIFE HAS TAKEN OFF WORK TWICE AND ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED AT OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER (LEGLUE NISSAN, ALEXANDRIA, LA). BOTH TIMES SHE HAS BEEN SHE TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AFTER A SHORT TEST DRIVE NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR, ALL THE 2014 VERSAS SHIFT LIKE THAT. WE HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND RECEIVED A SIMILAR ANSWER BASICALLY THAT THEY ARE AWARE THAT THE VERSA HAS A HARD DOWNSHIFT FROM 5TH TO 4TH BUT THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE. ALSO, LET ME AT THIS TIME ALLEVIATE ANY CONCERN ABOUT US BEING UNFAMILIAR WITH THE OPERATION OF A MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE. WE PRESENTLY OWN FOUR PASSENGER VEHICLES WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, ONE BEING A 2009 VERSA WITH THE 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS NEVER GIVEN US A PROBLEM AND SEVERAL PIECES OF FARM MACHINERY AND BETWEEN BOTH OF US HAVE OVER 70 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE OPERATING THEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA NOTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY DECELERATED WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,600.
INTERMITTENT LACK OF ACCELERATION. HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN 6 DAYS. TRIED ACCELERATING FROM STOP TO ENTER CROSS STREET AND FOUND NO ACCELERATION AND NO ENGINE INCREASE. TRAVELED 50 FEET AT 6 TO 10 MPH BEFORE A RESPONSE WITH PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. TURNED INTO DEALER, BUT THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. THIS IS A POSSIBLE DEADLY PROBLEM. *TR
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON FOR NO REASON SAYING IT'S OFF.WHEN BRAKING PEDAL WILL SLOWLY LOSE PRESSURE AND GO DOWN,LETTING CAR PROCEED FORWARD.READ THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE O-RING PROBLEM IN BRAKE CYLINDER.HAS OCCURRED SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR JUNE 2013 BRAND NEW,BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER NEXT WEEK WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG.
JUST LOOK AT MY RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND IT HAD NO REPAIR AT ALL.
My transmission went out pre-maturely on the high way and I almost got rear-ended. It’s a CVT transmission which has had a class action lawsuit which I wasn’t aware of when I bought car in 2020. Nissan should hold more responsibility but they refuse to help my basically totaled car.
