Over the past 4 years I have delt with my 2014 Nissan Versa Note SV constantly stalling in the middle of the road. I have replaced the transmission, TCM, and brake light wiring harness. I have had the Nissan dealership assess my vehicle three different times for 3+ days. They have completed wiring diagnostics and determined that the brake light wiring harness is getting water into the wiring causing a short and blowing the #49 fuse under the hood that also operates the transmission CVT/TCM. Their solution was to replace the wiring harness. This was completed last week. It rained again the last couple days off and on. The fuse has blown again. This causes the vehicle to stall in the middle of the road. There is no advanced warning or messages that appear. The check engine light does not come on either. It is way too hot out for my new baby for the vehicle to stall and not be able to run. Cars begin honking and swerving around my vehicle. The vehicle has to be pushed out of the road. Fuse after fuse has been replaced. New light bulbs. New wiring harness and still the same outcome. Please help.

Transmission went out.
At approximately 130K miles the CVT transmission had a sudden failure. Struggles to shift gears properly and often will pick a random one, which causes further damaged. Vehicle has sat for years, the transmission is unrepairable and a new unit must be installed which cost around $3500 for the transmission alone not including labor as told by the Nissan dealership. I now sit with a giant paper weight that is useless and worth nothing. Manufacturer should be held responsible as this issue exists and has been recalled in other models and years with the same transmission or issue.
The car is constantly jerking and losing power. The car has been towed for not responding after acceleration. Mechanic has told me it is the transmission. Car only has roughly 86k miles on it. Not safe to drive at all.
When reaching speeds around 20 mph, usually on turning corners, car feels like its 'skipping' not catching (so this could be like when picking up speed after reducing speed). I'm currently having wheel bearings replaced and the certified mechanic working on it says it appears to be transmission related and recommended me to take it to Nissan as he assumed (wrongly!) that it should still be covered under warranty. The vehicle has 71,000 miles. This issue doesn't always appear and is random as to showing up, but it is frequent.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that after reversing out of a parking space, while attempting to shift into drive(D), the contact discovered that the transmission failed to shift into drive(D). The vehicle was undrivable and was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined there was no transmission fluid inside the CVT transmission. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who confirmed a failure with the CVT transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 83,700.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed the vehicle started to have issues with changing from one gear to another. The contact stated that he had just left the dealer from getting his transmission serviced and then the transmission failed. There was no warning prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed as the transmission needing replacement. The vehicle has been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and told the contact they would be responsible for repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the vehicle started jerking and making abnormal sounds while attempting to accelerate. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 93,000.
When I first bouth this car used in 2020, the car suddenly begins accellerating rapidly but going nowhere while driving and I had the transmission replaced very soon after 68000 miles but, luckily it was under warranty. Now, less than 2 years after NISSAN replaced the transmission, I am driving down the interstate and my car starts jumping and going really slow and sluggish to get to the next gear then just takes off normally again. This will happen with the car just driving normally after that then again a shudder and slow down but its never consistent. I took it to Nissan again and guess what, the transmission went again. These Automotic CVT RE0F11A Transmissions in Nissans are severe safety issues and I have noticed and heard from mechanics all over and on this website even.
Continuous Variable Transmission Assembly Failure; Engine Stalled on the Highway; around 4/25/2022 No warning lights came up. Took it to the Nissan Dealer; They charged $495 for reprogramming Computer and Test Drive. The problem came up PF17F0 - Judder. CVT Assembly has to be replaced. The car has run only 33,000 miles and is good condition. The dealer says to REPLACE the Transmission with a new ONE. They stopped installing REFURBISHED Continuous Variable Transmission Assemblyand will only sell the new ones for others to repair cars. It costs $6,500/== More than the worth of the cars. THEY WILL NOT SELL PART - creating Monopoly.
I was told by Nissan of Tustin, CA, that I need trans repair. I was also told that several other issues exist. For minor items that cost a healthy price. After the repairs I’m called and told I have an additional charge for rear tail lights and brake lights which occurs when repairs on the trans are done. This sounds like something that nissan knows so why not cover that in the repair? Doesn’t sound separate sounds like compound issue from trans. Is there a recall order for this issue with the Sentra, which is the same cvt transmission?
The problem that the vehicle has is in the transmission. It does not have any light on the panel to notify me of any problem. My vehicle has 57000 miles and the transmission changes irregularly and sometimes it goes down without having slowed down, forcing me to stop completely on the road it is truly worrying. I have done internet searches on 2014 Versa transmissions and many people have had the same problem.
VEHICLES NEEDS JUMP START EVERY TIME AND THE VEHICLE STOP. NEED TRANSSMISSION REPAID
The CVT failed and the engine began making a droning sound. The vehicle was undrivable once the failed transmission was detected.
Transmission acts up Every time I accelerate to 30-35mph. Must remove foot from gas until RPMs go down to at least 2(if I'm lucky). If this process is not done the car continues to get louder and doesn't perform properly. I have two kids that I regularly take to school and other places so this is a big problem. Also if car is going 15mph or slower it's the same process. This started happening about 6 months after purchasing the vehicle. Odometer reading at time of purchase 75,500
Faulty Transmission. Replaced twice in 2 years. Nissan doesn't want to be responsible for 2nd Transmission. It cost $3,700 a Transmission replacement.
I have been taking my car to nissan since my purchase. I was having cooling issues, radiator issues, and car not starting. with all these issues and years of repairs..my CVT transmission finally went out. I had no clue as they were fixing and servicing this car. I call nissan affairs dept as i had to pay $5050.00 to replace it out of my pocket! Nissan states out of warranty 5 months ago!!. I inquired to why i was NEVER contacted about transmission issues and problems or the opportunity to be included in the civil action with this vehicle. They CLAIMED they had the old owners information which is a LIE as i have received prior documentation for warranty notifications in my name! excuse after excuse to not help me. that got me good with the 5050.00 for an ongoing issue for this vehicle. NISSAN does not help at all!
Regarding my 2014 Nissan Versa Note, with "continuous variable (cone shaped) transmission": I first noticed the transmission issue beginning June of 2021. took it back to the dealership where I got my car from they did not help me at all and took it to mechanic shop to look at it looked at and I'm changing my transmission fluid twice and no codes popped up on the scanner and now I'm sitting here with no vehicle engine runs is just a CVT transmission is the issue please help
My car has a CVT transmission and it jerks and stalls when trying to change gears and sometimes gets stuck in gear. I saw that their is a recall for this issue in nissan cars (versa,Sentra,Altima’s)from years 2012-2018 issued in 2016, but when I called the dealership they said it’s not for my specific car according to the VIN number. I’m not sure why this is and I’m confused and would like to know how to resolve this issue.
