ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GOES OUT ALL THE TIME. HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 130K. NOW AT 151K GM WONT FIX IT. *TR
2013: AUTOMATIC LIGHT OPENING DOOR BECAME COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR FEMALES DURING NIGHTTIME HOURS, EVEN WHEN PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY OR GOING TO CAR FROM HOME. I ALSO BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TURNING SIGNAL LEVEL. I HAD TO MANUALLY SWITCH THE BLINKER OFF AFTER TURNING, OTHERWISE MY BLINKER WOULD STAY ON THE ENTIRE DRIVE. IN MARCH, 2014, THE LEVER COMPLETELY SNAPPED OFF, AND I HAVE TO SHOVE IT INTO PLACE BEFORE AND AFTER TURNING TO PROPERLY EXECUTE ANY TURN BECAUSE THE LEVER HANGS AFTER EVERY MOVEMENT. I BEGAN HEARING A "THUMPING" SOUND AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN APPLYING MY BRAKES. INITIALLY, I THOUGHT IT MAY BE RELATED TO THE BRAKE LINE/PADS/ROTORS OR TIRES; HOWEVER, I HAVE HAD BOTH AREAS OF MY VEHICLE INSPECTED, AND THE TECHNICIANS COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE "THUMPING" NOISE CONTINUES MORE FREQUENTLY EVERY TIME. NO DEFINITIVE ANSWER AS TO WHAT IS CAUSING IT. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE VENT FOR MY DEFROSTER CRACK OFF, CAUSING THE PIECES OF THE VENT TO FALL INTO THE VENTILATION SYSTEM, BUT HASN'T CAUSED ANY SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS WITH MY COOLING/HEATING/DEFROSTING SYSTEM (YET). IN JANUARY, 2014, MY POWER STEERING NOTIFICATION WOULD RANDOMLY COME ON AND STEERING LOCK UP WHILE IN PARKED POSITION. IN APRIL/MAY, 2014, THE PROBLEM ESCALATED WITHIN WEEKS, AND MY POWER STEERING DISENGAGED WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE BANK PARKING LOT, AND THEN AGAIN PULLING INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD. AT THAT TIME, I CONTACTED GM REGARDING THE PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL (YET GM OWNERS MANUAL HAD NOT PLACED IT ONLINE), BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. TODAY, POWER STEERING WENT OUT AFTER HITTING A WATER PUDDLE IN THE POURING RAIN. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR ME KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT TO DO (PUT ON HAZARDS, PUT VEHICLE IN PARK, TURN OFF AND THEN TURN ON VEHICLE), I WOULD HAVE ENDED UP IN SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
UPON DRIVING THE G6, A POPPING NOISE BEGAN COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL. THE NOISE IS PRESENT WHEN NOT MOVING, WHEN MOVING AT LOW TO MODERATE SPEED WHILE TURNING, AND WHILE GOING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD. IT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE STEERING OR INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, WHICH IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM BY GM. OVERTIME, THIS CAN BE A VERY LARGE DANGER WHEN STEERING IS COMPROMISED. *TT
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATING WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PUSHED THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL TURN ON BUT IT WILL NOT ENGAGE. *TR
AS I WAS EXITING ON TO AN OFF RAMP THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND I LOST CONTROL MOMENTARILY AT THE SAME TIME NOT BEING ABLE TO SLOW DOWN. THE CAR EVENTUALLY SPUN OUT AND SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN. THEN I WAITED AND STARTED IT BACK UP AND IT WENT. *TR
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS AND WIPERS FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE WIRING HARNESS HAD MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,661.
I WAS DRIVING AND PULLING UP TO THE TURNING LANE TO MAKE A LEFT TURN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR LOST POWER STEERING AND I NEARLY CRASHED INTO THE FENCE OF A CORNER HOUSE. ALSO HAS A PROBLEM A STRONG SMELL IF GAS AFTER THE CAR IS SHUTOFF AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT HAS A CRACK IN THE LINES THAT RUN ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK AND THE SMELL IS FROM GAS LEAKING OUT OF THE CRACK AN SPRAYING THE TOP IF THE TANK. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 2006 PONTIAC G6. *TR
RECALL NO. 80317 TO ADD DIELECTRIC GREASE IS NOT WORKING!!!! THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING AND BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT DEPRESSED. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ILLUMINATED WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!!!!!! *TR
BRAKES ARE ILLUMINATED WHEN FOOT IS NOT ON BRAKE PEDAL AND BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OFF WHEN FOOT IS APPLIED AT THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!!! THE "RECALL" TO ADD DIELECTRIC LUBRICANT TO THE CONNECTOR TO PREVENT CORROSION IS NOT WORKING!!!!! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WHEN MY BRAKES LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED AUTOMATICALLY. THE BRAKE LAMPS MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY BECAUSE OF CORROSION IN A WIRING CONNECTOR. A CHIME WAS FOLLOWED BY "POWER STEERING" DISPLAYED ON THE DASH. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I START THE CAR WITHIN THE FIRST 3-15 MILES. I CALLED THE LOCAL GM DEALER WHO SAID TO BRING THE CAR TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THAT IT WOULD COST $110 TO ANALYZE THE PROBLEM. I FOUND THAT GM HAS RECALLED THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE UNITED STATES? *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY STEERING WHEEL JAMMING UP WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH IS A VERY SCARY ORDEAL.THE 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED I ALMOST HIT A CITY BUS AND HAD MI INFANT IN THE CAR. CALLED GM WHICH ADVISED ME IF IT WAS THE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY WHICH THEY FIXED IN APRIL 2013 NOW IT AUGUST 2013 IN IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP ON ME OUT OF NO WHERE, I WAS GOING 65MPH WHICH STEERING THE CAR WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DO WHILE OTHER CARS ARE GOING AT A FAST RATE I WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE. CALLED GM ONCE AGAIN HAD MY CAR TAKEN TO A SHOP NOW I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE MOTOR IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THAT IS NOT COVERED OR ON RECALL.. I HAVE SEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM OVER THE INTERNET AND GM HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT... GM WONT DO SOMETHING UNTIL SOMEONE DIES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V527000 (AIR BAGS) SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND STATED THE DEALER INFORMED HER THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE PROBLEM CAME ABOUT SLOWLY AT FIRST, BUT HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE OVER THE LAST YEAR EVEN WITH MINIMAL DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE. AT FIRST IT WAS HARD ONLY TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT WHEN GOING SLOW (LESS THAN 10MPH) AS IF THERE WAS LITTLE HELP FROM THE POWER STEERING ASSIST. IT PROGRESSED TO THE POINT NOW WHERE IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL AT SLOW SPEEDS IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT IS A SERIOUS DANGER WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS ACROSS ON COMING TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY. *TR
WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK, THE APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM DRIFTING FORWARD NOR BACKWARD. I WAS INFORMED, AT A GMC DEALERSHIP, THAT THE REAR BRAKE CALIBERS HAD SEIZED IN A PARTIALLY ENGAGED POSITION -- SO THE BRAKES WERE DRAGGING WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN _ AND _ THE EMERGENCY WAS USELESS. THE REPAIR COST WAS OVER $ 500.00. THE CAR HAD A REAR BRAKE REPLACEMENT JOB ABOUT 1,000 MILES BEFORE THIS PROBLEM, AND SUPPOSEDLY THE CALIBER PROBLEM WASN'T APPARENT THEN. *TR

POWER STEERING STOPPED WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS EXITING OFF THE INTERSTATE. SHE HAD TO STOP AND RESTART AND THEN RAN FINE. HAS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WHEN BACKING UP. *TR

THE STEERING WHEEL JERKS NO MATTER WHAT SPEED I'M GOING BUT IT SEEMS THAT THE SLOWER SPEEDS ARE THE HARDEST TO CONTROL. FROM WHAT I'VE BEEN READING THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL. THIS CONDITION PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
POWER STEERING RANDOMLY QUITS WORKING. FIRST TIME WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. OTHER TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN, BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN MERGING ONTO A MAIN ROAD OFF FROM A SIDE STREET. *TR

3 TIMES ALREADY MY STEERING WHEEL GOT STUCK ESPECIALLY WHEN I TRY TO PULL OUT FROM A PARKING SPACE. ONE TIME AT A STOP LIGHT IT DID GET STUCK AND WAS SHAKING. I HAD TO TURN OFF MY CAR AND WAIT ABOUT 10 SECONDS IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK AGAIN. *TR

THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY WITHOUT THE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATES WHEN PEDAL IS NOT ENGAGED, AND GOES OUT BRIEFLY WHEN ENGAGED. I BECAME AWARE OF THIS SITUATION WHEN IN FOR INSPECTION THE CAR FAILED FOR THE CENTER MOUNT STOP LIGHT WAS NOT WORKING DUE TO BURNED AND MELTED BULBS AND HOLDERS. UPON BEING TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT, I TOOK UPON MYSELF TO GET THE AFTERMARKET BULB HOLDER AND FIX MYSELF. UPON COMPLETION IT BECAME KNOW AS TO THE LIGHTS BRAKE LIGHT TURNING ON WHEN PEDAL IS NOT ENGAGED. CHANGED BRAKE SWITCH, PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED. SEEK INFO ON INTERNET AND CAME UPON FORMER RECALL, AND RECENT COMPLAINTS. CALLED GM DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND REASON FOR BULB HOLDERS MELTING IS FROM HEAT FROM BEING ON ALL THE TIME. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING TO DINNER WITH OUR NEIGHBORS FOLLOWING BEHIND US. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THEM STATING THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THEN ONCE I WOULD GO TO STOP THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF UNTIL I RELEASED THE BRAKE. I WENT TO USE MY CRUISE CONTROL AND IT WOULDN'T WORK. THEN ONCE WE WERE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT I HAD TROUBLE GETTING THE CAR OUT OF PARK, I HAD TO PRESS EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO GET IT TO RELEASE. *TR
I HAVE A '06' G6 GTP HARDTOP CONVERTIBLE. ENGINE SPONTANEOUSLY SHUTS OFF AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME I HIT A SPEED BUMP, DRIVE OVER RAILROAD TRACKS, HIT A POT HOLE. ETC. BASICALLY, EVERY TIME I HIT SOME SORT OF BIG BUMP ON THE ROAD. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I WOULD PULL OVER THE ROAD, PUT IT IN PARK, AND TRY TO RESTART THE ENGINE. BUT, I WOULD HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE CAR TURNS OVER. I WOULD PUT CAR IN TOTAL STOP, PARK, TURN OFF KEY, AND WAIT A FEW SECONDS BEFORE RESTARTING CAR. SOMETIMES IT STARTS RIGHT UP, OTHER TIMES WOULD TAKE A FEW ATTEMPTS. IT'S ALMOST LIKE I NEED TO WAIT FOR THE CARE TO RESET ITSELF. THERE IS POWER WHEN RESTARTING, BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER IMMEDIATELY. NOT EVEN A STARTER SOUND OR ENGINE CRANK. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE PAST WEEK AND MY CAR IS SHUTTING OFF MORE OFTEN. THIS HAS BECOME HAZARDOUS ESPECIALLY DRIVING ON A THRU-WAY. I DID TAKE THE CAR TO A PONTIAC DEALER ABOUT A YEAR AGO TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER CHANGED OUT THE ELECTRICAL UNIT TO A TUNE OF $600.00. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO DEALER FOR SAME ISSUE, AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR
MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL STATES FOR MY EXACT YEAR, MAKE, & MODEL ...BUT MY VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR SOME REASON. MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED AND THEN MY BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON ONLINE WEB SITES FROM OTHER 2006 PONTIAC G6 OWNERS THAT HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEM AND THEIR CAR IS ALSO NOT COVERED BECAUSE THEIR VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. WELL, EVIDENTLY, IT IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN WHAT THEY FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS. IT IS NOT JUST ONE ASSEMBLY PLANT OR ONE BATCH OF PARTS THAT WAS FAULTY. IF THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IS COMING UP ON THE EXACT SAME YEAR, MAKE, & MODEL...THEN THERE MUST BE SOMETHING ELSE THAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS FAILURE AND ALL 2006 PONTIAC G6 SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE READ THAT SOME OWNERS THAT BROUGHT THEIR CAR IN FOR REPAIR, WHETHER COVERED UNDER THE RECALL OR NOT, THE PROBLEM CAME BACK AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I CAN IMAGINE HOW MANY CARS ARE GETTING INTO ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY THE MANUFACTURER AND NOT BECAUSE OF THE DRIVER. PLEASE MAKE GM RECALL ALL 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND MAKE SURE THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO REPAIR IT CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. I HOPE GM OR NHTSA DOESN'T WAIT UNTIL THERE IS ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS. MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN MY FOOT IS NOWHERE NEAR THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WILL BE ON THE GAS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL EITHER BE FLASHING OR JUST STAYING ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 117,324. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE PRECEEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL HAD BECOME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT FOOT, BACK AND BODY ACHES, AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THE BRAKE PEDAL ILLUMINATED WHEN IT WAS NOT ENGAGED. THE CONTACT ONLY BECAME AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHEN SHE WAS STOPPED BY THE POLICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE DEFECTIVE BRAKE SWITCH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
TRANSMISSION FEELS AS THOUGH IT ENTER OVERDRIVE- BRAKES FEEL UNRESPONSIVE AND IF RESPONSIVE ONLY SLIGHTLY, AND CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE WITH THE TRANSMISSION STUCK. CAR WILL EVENTUALLY STOP WHEN EMERGENCY BRAKE IS PULLED, AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE. STEERING WHEEL WILL BECOME LOCKED AS WELL. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OF TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON, IT WILL EVENTUALLY UNLOCK THE TRANSMISSION AND WILL ALLOW TO BE SHIFTED INTO PARK. VEHICLE IS AN AUTOMATIC. *TR

VEHICLE HAD STRONG SMELL OF GAS AND UNDER VEHICLE THERE WAS A LOT OF GAS. TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND THE PLASTIC PART ON THE FUEL PUMP THAT CONNECTS HOSE WAS CRACKED/BROKEN. THERE IS CURRENT,Y A RECALL FOR 2007 MODELS AND UP BUT I BELIEVE THAT THE PLASTIC CONNECTORS ARE THE PROBLEM AND ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILS TO WORK. UNBELIEVABLY DIFFICULT TO TURN STEERING WHEEL AND CONTROL CAR. MECHANICAL CLICKING SOUND HAS BEEN HEARD SINCE CAR HAD 14000 MILES. DEALER INSISTS THIS IS NORMAL. *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE GEAR WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND ISSUED A "SPECIAL REPAIR NOTICE TO THE VEHICLE OWNERS". THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
MY CAR HAS A VERY BAD SMELL OF GASOLINE. IT SOMETIMES LEAVE A SMALL PUDDLE OF GASOLINE, BUT ONLY WHEN PARKED ON AN INCLINE NOSE FIRST. IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME THAT IT MAY BE A PLASTIC CONNECTION FROM THE FULE TANK TO THE FUEL LINE. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT GM HAS RECALLED CERTAIN CARS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT NOT THE G-6. IT WOULD COST APPROX, 800.00 FOR REPAIR. *TR

ONCE AGAIN GM HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR 2006 PONTIAC G6'S FOR BRAKE LIGHT ISSUES, CRUISE CONTROL, AND DIFFICULTIES GETTING THE CAR OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE BRAKE LIGHTS RANDOMLY ILLUMINATE WHILE PRESSING THE GAS AND SHUT OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY DISENGAGE AS WELL. ONCE AGAIN MY VIN IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? THE SYMPTOMS I'VE EXPERIENCED ARE IDENTICAL TO THE RECALL. BOTH RECALLS TO BE EXACT. THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR OF CAR WITH IDENTICAL PROBLEMS BUT I'M NOT COVERED AND THE GM REPS ARE NO HELP. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION (GOING STRAIGHT) I WAS COMING TO THE STREET I NEEDED TO TURN RIGHT ON AND MY STEERING LOCKED AND I COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BUT GO STRAIGHT. I HAVE TO SLOWLY PULL OVER, TURN CAR OFF AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON THE STEERING RESET AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE TURNS. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND THE TROUBLE CODE ON THE CAR WAS CO545 WHICH INDICATED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING. UPON RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING IN 2005-2006 AND MORE CURRENT PONTIAC G6 HOWEVER WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE GM DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF MY CAR IS COVERED UNDER THE 10 YEAR/150,000 MILE SPECIAL POLICY I WAS TOLD NO BASED ON MY VIN. THIS UPSET ME SINCE THERE HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN MANY REPORTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER STEERING. *TR
