THE ESC TRACTION CONTROL ILLUMINATE WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND REMAINS ILLUMINATEDWHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. THE TRACTION CONTROL ILLUMINATE ON AND OFF DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE. IT MAY REMAIN OFF FOR A WHILE AND WHEN THE CAR IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IT MAY REMAIN ILLUMINATED.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AS USUAL AND IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING BROKE AND MY SEAT BELT GOT LOOSE ALL OF A SUDDEN.I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH NO TURNS OR NO OTHER CHANGES.THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT RETRACTING BACK ANYMORE.A PART LIKE A SEAT BELT IS SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION AT ALL TIMES AND IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT FAIL UNLESS IT GOT DAMAGED DUE TO A MAJOR IMPACT ON THE CAR.THIS COULD HAVE PUT MY LIFE AT RISK IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE SEAT BELT WOULD HAVE FAILED AT THAT POINT.

I'VE NOTICED THAT MY PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT HASN'T BEEN TURNING OFF AFTER SOMEONE HAS LEFT THE PASSENGER SEAT. I USUALLY HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IF I'M DRIVING, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND START IT AGAIN FOR THE SYSTEM TO RECOGNIZE THAT THERE ISN'T A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT ANYMORE. OTHERWISE IT WILL CONTINUE TO FLASH THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIGHT AND CHIME. ALSO, THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT LIGHT WILL KEEP FLASHING AND CHIMING EVEN THOUGH I AM WEARING MY SEAT BELT. STARTED 2/20/18.

I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH ABOUT 114000 MILES ON IT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON BUT NO INDICATION AS TO WHY IT IS ON. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT ACCORDING TO REPORTS. I HAD SERVICE COMPLETE THE 2 OUTSTANDING RECALLS ON THE CAR. I ALSO REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES ONLY TO TAKE IT BACK A WEEK LATER AND REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE CALIPER ALSO. THE OTHER DAY WHILE DRIVING HOME, I EXPERIENCED VIBRATING IN MY BRAKES WHEN BRAKING. AT THAT TIME NO ABS LIGHT CAME ON OR TC CONTROL LIGHTS, HOWEVER WHEN HUBBY WAS GETTING READY TO TEST DRIVE IT, THE ABS LIGHT AND BOTH TC LIGHTS CAME ON AND HAVE STAYED ON. BRAKES ARE WORKING FINE AT THE MOMENT, I TOOK IT TO A SERVICE CENTER AND CHECKED FOR ADDITIONAL RECALLS (BECAUSE I READ ABOUT ONE ON THIS ISSUE SOMEWHERE THE OTHER DAY WHEN SEARCHING) BUT THEY ASSURED ME THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR SUCH AN ISSUE WITH MY VIN. THE CAR CURRENTLY ONLY HAS 123,000 MILES ON IT. MY NEXT STEP I GUESS IS TO TAKE IT TO ADVANCE AUTO FOR A SCAN AND SEE IF ANYTHING SHOWS UP :( I DO A LOT OF TRAVELLING SO I NEED A DEPENDABLE/RELIABLE/SAFE VEHICLE. I LOVE THE CAR BUT I DON'T LOVE ALL THE BRAKE ISSUES AND NOT KNOWING WHY THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. I HAVE PUT NEARLY $1000 INTO MY CAR IN JUST A MATTER OF MONTHS DUE TO BREAKS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM.

ON 05/11/16 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:49 PM, THIS 2008 PONTIAC G6, WHILE TRAVELING IN A FORWARD DIRECTION ON A PUBLIC ROAD AND IN DRY SURFACE CONDITIONS, MODERATE TEMPERATURES, WAS BROUGHT TO A RAPID STOP DUE TO CHANGING TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. THE DRIVER WAS RESTRAINED VIA THE SEAT BELT. FOUR SECONDS LATER, THIS 2008 PONTIAC G6 WAS STRUCK IN THE REAR BY A 2005 PONTIAC VEHICLE TRAVELING AT MODERATE SPEED AND POSSIBLE DRIVER INATTENTION. SIGNIFICANT REAR, FRONTAL, UNDERSIDE AND SIDE AREAS OF BOTH VEHICLES WERE DAMAGED. BOTH VEHICLES WERE NOT DRIVABLE AND WERE TOWED FROM THE ACCIDENT SCENE TO A SECURE LOT. THE 2008 PONTIAC G6 AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE UPON IMPACT OR THEREAFTER. THE 2005 PONTIAC AIRBAGS(2) DID INFLATE AND ALSO SUFFERED A PASSENGER SIDE BROKEN FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE OCCUPANTS AND ONE CANINE IN ONE AND OR BOTH VEHICLES DID SUFFER UNKNOWN INJURIES. THE 2008 PONTIAC G6 HAD BEED SERVICED UP TO AND INCLUDING WITHIN ONE YEAR BY A GM DEALERSHIP FOR VARIOUS RECALLS AND OVER THE HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LOWER BACK, HIP, AND CHEST THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FAULTY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR FOR NO REASON THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND AFTER ABOUT A WEEK IT NOW STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. I READ ON LINE IN THE GM CAR FORUMS THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR PROBLEM. I NOTICED MOST 05-09 GM MODELS THAT ARE EQUIPPED WITH THIS TYPE OF SENSOR. PEOPLE NOTED THE FIX IS $500 TO $1000 AND MUST BE DONE BY THE DEALER. I LIKE MANY OTHER GM OWNERS WOULD LIKE TO THINK A PROPERLY WORKING AIR BAG IS A SAFETY ISSUE. APPARENTLY THIS AIR BAG SENSOR IS A POOR DESIGN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED! THANK YOU
