I HAVE RECEIVED (2) RECALL NOTICES. 1 RECALL 13036 FOR BCM AND BAS SYSTEM FOR BRAKES AND 1 OTHER RECALL 14152 FOR TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE. FIRST CAME AT THE BEGINNING OF JULY/2014 AND THE OTHER THE MIDDLE OF JULY/2014. BOTH STATED THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 60 DAYS SINCE I RECEIVED THE NOTICES BUT THE RECALLS WERE ISSUED MAY 16, 2014. *TR
DRIVING AND SUDDENLY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ACROSS THE RADIO IT SAID ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND SERVICE TRACTION. IT WOULD BARELY ACCELERATE. IT HAS DONE THIS TWICE IN A WEEK. THEN AFTER A WHILE THE ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF AND IT WILL SEEM OK. AT STOPS THOUGH, THE CAR SEEMS VERY SHAKY, FEELING LIKE IT WILL STALL, BUT HASN'T YET!!! *TR

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED DATE FOR THE PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THAT THE REMEDY PART HAD NOT BEEN PRODUCED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WAS VEERING TO THE LEFT AND THE STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE INSPECTED, DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,100.
I HAVE A 2008 PONTIAC G6. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND SUDDENLY THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM GETS DISABLED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I WASN'T ABLE TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE ANYMORE ADDING MORE PROBLEMS. IT IS A VERY ANNOYING THING AS IT MAKES THE WARNING NOISE (AS THE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK SYSTEM GET DISABLED) EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR. MOREOVER, I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR SINCE I DON'T HAVE ANY TRACTION/STABILITY CONTROL. I WHEN I DID SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH MY CAR LISTED IN THE RECALL (ALL 2005-2010 PONTIAC G6). GM'S NUMBER FOR THE RECALL IS 13036. IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED, BUT I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE YET. DESPERATELY HOPING THAT THE RECALL NOTICE COMES UP SOON SO I CAN GET MY CAR FIXED AND DRIVE IT SAFELY. *TR
IT APPEARS THERE ARE FOUR (4) RECALLS ON THIS MODEL/MAKE/YEAR - WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE RECALL NOTIFICATION. NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 14V252000, #14V224000, 14V153000, 12V460000. I WOULD APPRECIATED FURTHER INFORMATION IN CORRECTING IDENTIFIED RECALLS. *TR
I WAS BRAKING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY POWER STEERING FAILED. LUCKILY NO CRASH OCCURRED. TRIED CONTACTING GM AND THEY SAID BECAUSE MY VIN WAS NOT ON THE RECALL NOTICE THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. GM NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER AND SEE IF ANYONE ELSE FROM THIS FACTORY HAS DEALT WITH SIMILAR ISSUES AND ISSUE A RECALL FOR MORE VEHICLES. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER (BAYIRD CHEVROLET, 3299 US-51, COVINGTON, TN 38019, (901) 476-2277) SERVICED A MANUFACTURER RECALL, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE EPS WARNING INDICATOR FLASHING AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHEN REVERSING. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON TO RESET THE COMPUTER EACH TIME THE FAILURES OCCURRED. THE DEALER REFUSED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION BECAUSE THE RECALL REPAIR HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED AND INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED AGAIN TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
POWER STEER KEEPS LOCKING UP WHEN DRIVING AND AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT STAYS ON. *JS
FAULTY WIRING IN THE PONTIAC G6 HEADLIGHTS CAUSES THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT SOCKET TO KEEP MELTING CAUSING AN INOPERATIVE BULB. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A FIRE SINCE IT IS NOT TRIPPING THE FUSE. *TR
FROM THE TIME I BOUGHT THIS CAR, I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WHERE WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, AS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM THE DIFFERENT GEARS, THE SHIFT WILL BE EXTRA HARD. IT'S LIKE THE CAR JERKS AS IT SHIFTS. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND HAD IT PLACED ON THE COMPUTER AT OTHER DIFFERENT AUTO SHOPS AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS CAR. IT SEEMS TO REALLY JERK WHEN I HAVE USED THE AIR CONDITIONER OR DRIVEN FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. I AM AT MY END WITH IT.. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE STEERING LOST POWER, AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC CHEVROLET (440-953-1070, LOCATED AT 6877 CENTER ST, MENTOR, OH 44060) WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL), 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN), AND 14V153000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE RECURRED THE NEXT MORNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
IT WAS CALLED TO MY ATTENTION AT A GAS STATION THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMPS ON MY PONTIAC G6 WERE NOT ON. I WAS TRAVELING & AWAY FROM HOME AND FELT IT NECESSARY TO SEEK REPAIRS ASAP AT A REPAIR FACILITY IN THE AREA . AFTER CONSIDERABLE EFFORT WE FOUND A REPAIR SHOP WHO RELUCTANTLY AGREED TO CHECK THE PROBLEM OUT. AFTER A CONSIDERABLE EFFORT, WELL TOO MUCH IT SEEMED, TO ACCESS THE HEADLAMP BULBS HE GAINED ACCESS AND DISCOVERED THE WIRING WAS BURNED TOO BADLY FOR REPAIRS AND INFORMED US THIS WAS A REPAIR THAT SHOULD BE DONE BY A PONTIAC DEALER.AND THERE WAS LIKELY A RECALL IN EFFECT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE NEXT CITY WE CAME TO WE ASKED FOR DIRECTIONS TO A REPAIR SHOP WHO MIGHT BE WILLING TO ATTEMPT REPAIRS. THIS SHOP SPLICED IN SOME NEW WIRING AND A NEW CONNECTOR AND THE LAMPS WERE ONCE AGAIN BURNING. HOWEVER THE REPAIR LASTED ONLY 90 DAYS AND AGAIN IT WAS FOUND TO BE BURNED WIRING. IN TALKING TO OTHER PONTIAC G6 OWNERS I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS IS 'THE NATURE OF THE BEAST" AND SOMETHING MOST OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED. THIS FAILURE MAKES THIS CAR UNSAFE FOR ANYONE,,PARTICULARLY MY WIFE OR OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS TO OPERATE.
AFTER EXITING HIGHWAY, DRIVER BEHIND ME FLAGGED ME DOWN TO TELL ME MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON THE ENTIRE TIME HE DROVE BEHIND ME. BRAKE LIGHTS WERE CHECKED BY MYSELF AND FAMILY MEMBERS AND THEY CONTINUE TO ILLUMINATE ON. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AND NOT APPLYING THE BRAKE MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE LIT. WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT. I WAS INFORMED BY A FELLOW DRIVER ON THE ROAD THE FIRST TIME, THEN TOOK MY CAR INTO A DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED. THEY CHANGED MY BRAKE SWITCH AND A WEEK LATER I WAS TOLD BY A COWORKER DRIVING BEHIND ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS STILL ACTIVE. *TR
THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND SO DOES THE TIRE INFLATION WARNING AT START UP AND STAYS ON.. THIS USE TO BE OCCASIONALLY AND THEN NOT COME ON THE NEXT TIME YOU STARTED IT ...NOW IT DOES IT ALMOST CONTINUALLY..ALSO THE SEATS ELECTRIC HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HAS BROKEN FREE OF THE BASE ON THE FLOOR...THE WELD HAS BROKEN ON THE TUBE ON THE BASE OF THERE CAR...I SEE SO MANY OTHER CAR OWNERS WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUES YET NO ONE IS ADDRESSING THEM OR ISSUING A RECALL...THESES ISSUES SHOULD NOT BE FIXED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE WHEN GM KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE AND A SEAT IN A CAR SHOULD NEVER HAVE WELDS FAIL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE..THESE SEATS WOULD NEVER HOLD UP IN A CRASH. *TR
MY PARENTS PURCHASED THE CAR FOR ME ON MARCH 1, 2013 WITH 97,629 MILES ON IT. WE PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I HAD THE INTERMEDIATE DRIVE SHAFT REPLACE JULY 9, 2014 BECAUSE I WAS INTERMITTENTLY HEARING A POPPING NOSE WHEN I TURNED OR BACK UP WHILE TURNING. IT HAS PRETTY MUCH DONE THIS THE ENTIRE TIME AFTER A FEW WEEKS I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR. EVEN AFTER GETTING IT REPLACED LAST JULY, IT WAS QUIET FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THEN STARTED AGAIN. I AM ALWAYS CONCERNED DAILY THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING AND I HAVE 3 DAUGHTERS FROM AGES 5-15 THAT ARE WITH ME. I DRIVE THEM TO SCHOOL 15 MILES AWAY AND PICK THEM UP. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT AFTER THE REPAIR OF THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT THE FIRST TIME, IT WOULD HAVE STOPPED BUT IT HAS NOT. IT IS A GROWING ANXIETY ISSUE FOR ME AND I AM A SINGLE MOM AND CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR. THIS WEBSITE HAS HAD 37 POSTS ALONE OF THIS SAME COMPLAINT! THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,832.

HEADLIGHT WORKS INTERMEDIARY. FOUND CONNECTOR TO BULB WAS DISCOLORED & SLIGHTLY MELTED. I BELIEVE WIRE MAY BE TOO SMALL TO CARRY THE LOAD. THIS HAS APPEARED MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE INTERNET FEATURING A LOT OF GM VEHICLES. GM APPARENTLY HAS A REPLACEMENT FIX SO THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE. *TR
OVER THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS WHILE DRIVING OR BACKING OUT THE DRIVEWAY MY STEERING HAS LOCKED UP MAKING IT HARD TO STEER. THE CAR DINGED AND ON THE RADIO DISPLAY IT SAID POWER STEERING SO I THOUGHT I JUST NEEDED SOME FLUID SO I WENT TO AUTO ZONE THINKING POWER STEERING FLUID WHERE I LEARNED IT WAS ELECTRONIC MY CAR DOESN'T TAKE FLUID. I GOOGLED TO FIND WHERE TO TAKE IT WHEN I DISCOVERED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2008 PONTIAC POWER STEERING. WENT TO A DEALERSHIP AND MY CAR HAS THE EXACT SAME RECALL PROBLEM BUT DIDN'T SOMEHOW MAKE THE CUT THEY RECALLED VEHICLES MANUFACTURED 10/07 & UP MINE WAS 08/07 ACCORDING TO THE TAG DEALERSHIP SAYS IT WILL BE 700 TO REPAIR WHICH I DO NOT HAVE BUT I COMMUTE 1 HOUR EACH WAY TO WORK DAILY. GM NEEDS TO REEXAMINE THIS RECALL BECAUSE THEY MISSED A FEW VEHICLES. *TR
MY SISTER WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME AND INFORMED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAYED ILLUMINATED AT ALL TIMES, EVEN WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT APPLIED. I LEARNED OF THE NEWEST GM RECALL ON THE NEWS WHERE THIS IS A POTENTIAL PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE I AM AFFECTED. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING ON U.S. 30 TO GREENSBURG, PA AND I WENT ON TO THE OFF RAMP ON TO WEST PITTSBURGH STREET AND THE TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITY LIGHTS LIT UP. I LOOK DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD TO SEE WHAT GOING ON. THEN, MY CAR JERKED SUDDENLY BACKWARDS I HIT MY HEAD TWO OR THREE TIMES OFF THE HEAD REST. I HIT THE ON STAR BUTTON TO REPORT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO VERIFY THE CODES AND TOLD THEM THE SITUATION. THE ON STAR PEOPLE DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME IF I NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION. SO, I DROVE TO THE HOSPITAL THAT WAS 1/4 MILE AWAY. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A HEAD INJURY AND RECEIVED TREATMENT FOR NECK AND BACK INJURIES. *TR
KEY EASILY GOES BACK TO THE ACC (ACCESSORIES) POSITION AND SHUTS OFF CAR, POWER STEERING, AND BRAKES. I WAS DRIVING WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE KEY WITH MY HAND AND IT TURNED TO THE ACC POSITION AND SHUT OFF MY CAR. LUCKILY I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY OR TURNING BECAUSE MY POWER STEERING INSTANTLY SHUT OFF. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS. I TESTED MY MOMS CAR AND HER HONDA DOES THE SAME THING BUT IT IS HARDER TO SWITCH BACK TO THE ACC POSITION. IS THIS NORMAL? I KNOW GM IS GOING THROUGH SOME DISCREPANCIES RIGHT NOW AND WAS WONDERING IF MY CAR WAS LEFT OUT OF THE RECALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC); however, the failure recurred after the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer declined to provide additional repairs under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.
VEHICLE BATTERY WAS DRAINED OVERNIGHT FROM CONSUMER ELECTRONICS (DVD CHARGING, GPS) TO THE POINT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START NEAR ZERO VOLTAGE WITH INSIDE LIGHTS SHUTTING OFF. CHARGED WITH 10 AMP BATTERY CHARGER TO FULL BATTERY. AFTERWARDS KEY FOBS WOULD NOT WORK. DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT. AFTER A FEW DAYS OF DRIVING NOTICED THE TIRE PRESSURE INFO WAS ALL -- (NOT POSTING). TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM MONITORING WAS COMPLETELY OFF WITH NO NOTIFICATION TO DRIVER. FOUND SEVERAL SITES THAT SAY A G6 CAN LOSE IT'S TIRE SENSOR/KEY FOB MEMORY FROM A SLOWLY DRAINING BATTERY AND MUST BE TAKEN TO A DEALER TO FIX IT. TOOK IT TO A GMC (FORMERLY PONTIAC) DEALERSHIP, $95 LATER ONLY GOT THE TIRES WORKING AGAIN. NEWER VEHICLES HAVE A PROCEDURE FOR OWNERS TO INITIATE THIS SETUP THEMSELVES AND REPROGRAM THE TIRES AND KEY FOBS, BUT NOT 2008. THE LACK OF TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS WHEN THEY WERE THERE PRIOR SHOULD TRIGGER AT MINIMUM A WARNING ON EVERY START. IT CAN TELL ME I NEED AN OIL CHANGE EVERY DAY. FOR THIS TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF A LOW VOLTAGE EVENT IS TERRIBLE CIRCUIT DESIGN / BAD PROGRAMMING. IF AN OWNER CHARGES HIS KID'S DVD PLAYER AND IT KILLS THE BATTERY THE NEXT DAY THE MANDATORY TMPS SYSTEM MAY NOT WORK, AND NOT WORK WITHOUT WARNING.
