THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SWITCH IS STUCK OFF. CAR IS LOSING POWER NOT SHIFTING UP OR DOWN AS IT SHOULD. OXYGEN SENSOR BANK 1 SAYS LEAN. ITS AS IF ITS NOT PULLING IN ENOUGH AIR. TO PUSH POWER. IDLES ROUGH. ELECTRICAL ISSUE OR COMPUTER ISSUE. NOT SUREAS IF IM AT STOP LIGHT IT SHAKES BADLY WHILE SLOWING DOWN LETING OFF THE GAS. OR BRAKING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING AND WOULD OCCASIONALLY SHUT OFF SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURES WERE NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS, INCLUDING THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL RELAY SWITCH, SPARK PLUGS, AND OXYGEN SENSORS, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (JERRY CHEVROLET, 1940 E. JOPPA RD., PARKVILLE, MD) WERE NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V387000(ENGINE). THE FAILUE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THREE TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR, THE CAR HAS ACCELERATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS BEEN APPLIED WITH THE CAR ROLLING IN IDLE, OR NEAR IDLE. THE LAST TIME WAS THIS PAST WEEK. IN TWO INSTANCES, IT IS KNOWN TO HAVE HAPPENED IN AN URBAN SETTING ON STREETS AND PARKING LOTS WITHIN SHOPPING CENTERS. IT WAS NECESSARY TO STOMP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE CAR DESPITE AN ACCELERATED ENGINE W/ AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. A REVIEW BY MY MECHANIC FINDS THE ACCELERATION TO BE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED. OWNERS OF BOTH PONTIAC VIBE AND ITS SISTER, TOYOTA MATRIX, HAVE MADE SAFETY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH DIFFERING RESPONSES PER MANUFACTURER, MODEL, AND MODEL YEAR. I LEAVE THE DATE OF THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT BELOW.
I RECEIVED NUMEROUS RECALL NOTICES ABOUT THE AIR BAG INFLATOR. I HAVE BEEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP A COUPLE OF TIMES TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I'M TOLD THE REPAIR PART(S)HAVE BEEN ON BACK ORDER FOR MONTHS. WHAT GIVES? THE DEALER IS BAIERL CHEVROLET 10430 PERRY HWY. WEXFORD PA. 15090.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG MAY NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8/3533975028. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,700.
ON THE FIRST RECALL FOR AIRBAG I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE AIRBAG REPLACE AND NOW THE AIRBAG AND ENGINE LIGHT IS ON ALL AT ALL THE TIME. WHY?
MY ODOMETER HAS BEEN STUCK AT 299,999 FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS AND I HAVE PUT OVER 600 MILES ON MY CAR IN THE LAST THREE WEEKS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

ON TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS, THE ENGINE HAS STALLED AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS COASTING DOWNHILL WHEN THIS HAPPENED. AFTER PULLING OVER AND STOPPING, THE ENGINE RESTARTED FINE. IT SEEMS TO MATCH THE DESCRIPTION FOR RECALL 10V387000, ALTHOUGH THAT WAS ISSUED ONLY FOR 1ZZ ENGINES AND THIS IS A 2ZZ ENGINE.

HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER STATED HE READ WHERE TAKATA DECLARED THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG FOR THE 2004-2007 VIBE'S WERE THE HIGHEST RISK. *JB

TOOK CAR TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL FIXED. 4 DAYS LATER THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP, NOW IT'S AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER SIDE. MIND YOU THERE WAS NO LIGHT ON BEFORE THEY GOT IN THERE. COMPUTER CODE SAYS THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG CIRCUITRY HIGH RESISTANCE. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE NEW PART IS CAUSING OTHER PROBLEMS.

LAST WEEK I RECEIVE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE THAT GM HAS THE PART TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR. THE FIRST GMC DEALER I CALLED DID NOT HAVE CLUE AND HAS NOT GOT BACK TO ME YET. HE FIRST SAID A CONNECTOR WAS BEING REPLACED. THE SECOND GM DEALER SAID ONLY A BRACKET WAS BEING REPLACE AND ALSO DID NOT HAVE A CLUE. THE GM RECALL LETTER STATED THE PASSENGER SIDE INFLATOR WAS BEING REPLACE. IS THAT CORRECT?????

TAKATA RECALL 14491. NOTICE OF THE RECALL ARRIVED IN JULY 2015. NO FURTHER INFORMATION HAS COME FROM GM AND PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THE DEALER. ESSENTIALLY, GM AND TAKATA HAVE LEFT ME WITH A VEHICLE UNSUITABLE FOR A FRONT-SEAT PASSENGER--FOR 6 MONTHS! I'M GLAD THAT TAKATA HAS BEEN CHASTISED FOR THEIR SLOW-MOTION RECALL, BUT IT HASN'T PROVIDED ANY GREATER SPEED TO THE RECALL.
RECALL 14491 WAS ISSUED IN JULY 2014. WE RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM PONTIAV DATED JULY 2015. NO REMEDY IS STILL AVAILABLE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR TWO REASON; FIRST-THE YEAR DELAY IN NOTIFICATION OF RECALL, AND SECOND-THE LACK OF REMEDY AVAILABLE. I CHECKED THE WEB FOR ANY PROGRESS= NONE.
RECEIVED RECALL #14491 IN JULY 2015. MANUFACTURER STILL HAS NO PARTS. IN THE MEANTIME THE LETTER SAYS NOT TO LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. SINCE THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT FOR THIS TO BE REPAIRED, IT SEEMS A VIOLATION OF MY USAGE OF THE VEHICLE TO NOT HAVE FULL USE UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO FIX IT. I AM COMPLAINING THAT NOT HAVING A TIME LIMIT IN WHICH TO REPAIR DEFECTS IS RESTRICTING MY USAGE OF MY PROPERTY.

I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FACT AHTT THIS IS MY ONLY CAR AND IN JULY 2015 I GOT A LETTER TELLING ME THE AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE AND TO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE INT HE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE WAITED FOR 5 MONTHS TO HEAR MORE ABOUT WHEN I CAN GET THE SAFETY HAZARD TAKEN CARE OF. WHEN I CALLED GM THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO INFORMAITON ON WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS. THEY DON'T KNOW AND CAN'T TELL ME WHEN THEY WILL KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS. WHEN I LOOKED ON LINE IT SAYS THE REPARIS WILL BEGIN IN 2017 AND END IN 2019. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. I DRIVE THIS CAR EVERY DAY. MY FAMILY IS IN THIS CAR DAILY. IT IS MY ONLY CAR. IN THSI DAY AND AGE AND WITH A PROBLEM THAT IS AS EASY TO FIX AS THIS - WE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS -- HOW IS IT THAT THE SOLUTION WILL NOT BE IMPLEMENTED IN ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES FOR UP TO 6 YEARS????!!! I EXPECT A RESPONSE TO THIS COMPLAINT. IT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT MY FAMILY AND I ARE AT RISK EVERY DAY AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR WITH NO END IN SITE AND NO ONE ABLE TO PROVIDE A DATE FOR WHEN THIS WILL BE RECTIFIED.

THE DEALER LATER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AND STATED THAT THEY COMPLETED THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND VERIFIED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. AS PART OF NHTSA RECALL #15V285, ISSUED JUL 24, 2014, GM RECALLED MY PONTIAC VIBE, INFORMING ME " THESE VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED PROPELLANT.... IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED PROPELLANT COULD CAUSE THE INFLATOR TO RUPTURE AND THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG TO DEPLOY ABNORMALLY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE OCCUPANT." AT THE TIME, THE RECALL STATUS WAS " INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". IT HAS BEEN MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, WITH NO CHANGE IN STATUS OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BEING PROVIDED AS TO WHEN OUR CARS WILL BE FIXED. IS THIS ACTUALLY A RECALL? ARE THESE VEHICLES EVER GOING TO BE REPAIRED? I APPRECIATE NHTSA'S DESIRE TO WARN DRIVERS. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FROM GM (GM RECALL NUMBER 14491A) IN REGARDS TO THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG....I CALLED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG PROBLEM WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MAYBE THE 2ND HALF OF 2016 AND NOT TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT...IS THIS FOR REAL? IN OTHER WORDS I HAVE A CAR THAT I NOW CANNOT USE FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. I SPOKE WITH A JOHN WHO SAID TO CONTACT A GM DEALER TO HAVE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DISCONNECTED....THE GM DEALER REFUSES TO DO IT...ITS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THEY EXPECT PEOPLE TO WAIT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR TO GET A RECALL REPAIRED AND NOT TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FOR THAT LENGTH OF TIME....

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIRBAGS IN JULY. IT SAID I AM NOT TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I NEED TO USE MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THEY SAY THE REPAIR IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. SEVEN WEEKS HAVE PASSED. I TRIED CALLING PONTIAC/GM AND WAS PUT ON HOLD AND THEN GOT A BUSY SIGNAL. THEIR CHAT LINE IS DOWN FOR "MAINTENANCE." THEY SEEM UNWILLING TO FIX A SAFETY HAZARD. IF SOMEONE IS INJURED AS A RESULT, I'M HOLDING THEM AND YOU RESPONSIBLE.
