I WAS DRIVING ALONG AT POSTED HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN MY ENGINE SUDDENLY FAILED AND LOST ALL POWER. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF INTERSTATE WITHOUT INCIDENT WHERE I CALLED A TOWING COMPANY TO BE PICKED UP. MY TRUCK HAS 130,000 MILES ON IT BUT HAS NEVER SHOWN ANY SIGN OF A PROBLEM. THE TRUCK WAS SERVICED REGULARLY AT 5000 MILE INTERVALS. MAJORITY OF MILEAGE WERE HIGHWAY MILES BETWEEN 70 - 75 MPH. NORMALLY, I WOULD CHALK THIS UP TO HIGH MILEAGE. HOWEVER, DURING THE SEARCH FOR ANY PROBLEMS WITH A 5.7 L HEMI ENGINE, I NOTICED THE FOLLOWING RECALL AND WAS CURIOS AS TO WHY MY RAM 1500 WAS NOT INCLUDED: THIS RECALL COVERS A SPECIFIC BUILD PERIOD. THE VEHICLES INVOLVED ARE 20092012 DODGE CHALLENGERS (LC), DODGE CHARGERS (LD) AND CHRYSLER 300S (LX) EQUIPPED WITH A 5.7L HEMI ENGINE (SALES CODE EZD OR EZH, WHICH ARE THE MDS ENGINES) AND REAR AXLE RATIOS OF 3.06, 3.73 OR 3.92 (SALES CODE DMP, DME OR DMH). THE BUILD PERIOD IS FROM AUGUST 4, 2008, THROUGH JULY 10, 2012 (MDH 080406 THROUGH 071008). THE RECALL IS TITLED CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION P01 ENGINE TIMING CHAIN AND CHAIN GUIDE AND IS DATED FEBRUARY 2014. SINCE THE ENGINES ARE NEARLY IDENTICAL, THERE IS NO REASON THAT MY TRUCK SHOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. THE TIMING CHAIN FAILURE IN MY 2011 RAM 1500 SLT 4X4 CREWCAB CAUSED CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE ENGINE TO THE POINT WHERE IT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW AND WAS EXPECTED TO LAST MUCH LONGER THAN IT DID. I AM VERY LUCKY TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET SAFELY OFF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT BEING INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH ONE OF THE MANY TRACTOR AND TRAILERS OR WASHINGTON DC COMMUTERS. THERE IS NO SUFFICIENT REASON FOR THE METAL TIMING CHAIN FAILURE OTHER THAN A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGED IN OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE BY THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON A HILL, THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE FLIPPED ABOUT ONE HUNDRED YARDS AND CRASHED LANDING UPRIGHT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE TWO UNKNOWN INJURED THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK AT THE PUMP, THE TANK BECOMES FULL AND THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY AS EXPECTED BUT THEN A BIG SLUG OF GAS SURGES OUT OF THE FILL NECK AND SPLASHES ALL OVER ME AND THE TRUCK. HAPPENS AY EVERY FILL AND EVERY STATION. COMMON PROBLEM, DODGE IS WELL AWARE. DEFINITE FIRE HAZARD!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE REVERSING, THE POWER STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 211,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS MY TRUCK COMPLETLY SHUT OFF, I LOST POWER TO EVERYTHING, INCLUDING POWER STEERING. I HAD PREVIOUS HAD MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEMS WITH MY FUEL PUMP STAYING ON AND LEARNED IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) WHICH CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF AND HAS RECALLS FOR SOME VEHICLES IN CERTIN STATES. THE SYMTOMS MY TRUCK IS HAVING IS THE SAME LISTED IN MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS, IE. VEHICLES RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF, FUEL PUMP STAYING ON AND DRAINING THE BATTERIES, AIR BAGS RANDOMLY DEPLOYING. AFTER RESEARCHING MULTIPLE FOURMS AND WEBSITE I FOUND ITS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONG CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED DUE TO FAULTY PARTS AND EQUIPMENT.
VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE EXITING THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE. TIMING CHAIN BROKE DUE TO A FAILURE OF A PLASTIC CHAIN GUIDE CAUSING BENT VALVES AND CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE LOCKED AND THE RIM CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS ALSO ON FIRE. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WITH WATER. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V038000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
HAD SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A RECALL NOTICE WITH ALL AMERICAN DODGE IN SAN ANGELO, TEXAS. ARRIVED FOR APPOINTMENT AND SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY COULD NOT LOOK AT IT DUE TO NO TECHS AVAILABLE CALLED TO RESCHEDULE APPOINTMENT ON 3/9/15 AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT THREE MONTHS FOR AN APPOINTMENT. AM I SUPPOSED TO DRIVE AROUND IN A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR THREE MONTHS? I THINK THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THAT HOPING NO ONE CALLS BACK TO RESCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT MY SCHEDULE WILL BE IN THREE MONTHS? *TR
TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING I NEEDED MY AIRBAG REPLACED BUT AFTER NOTIFYING THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WAS TOLD THAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY ACTIVE RECALLS AT THE PRESENT TIME. THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN MAKING NOISE FOR SOME TIME DESPITE ALSO BEING TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE SPECIFIC YEAR THAT I HAVE PURCHASED. LAST BUT NOT LEAST THERE IS A CONSTANT BATTLE WITH THE REAR SUSPENSION OF THE VEHICLE. THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAVE UPPER AND LOWER MOUNT BARS BUT THE RUBBER GIVES AWAY IN THE PART WHICH CAUSES A SWAY THAT MAKES YOU LOOSE CONTROL TRAVELING OVER 50MPH WITHOUT TOWING A LOAD. I HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO NOT USING THIS VEHICLE ON THE EXPRESSWAY. ALSO TO DATE THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN GIVEN A FULL OVERHALL AS OF LAST YEAR. AT THE TIME THERE WERE 120,000 MILES ON THE POWER TRAIN
JUST TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP ON 2/17/15 DUE TO THE BATTERY BEING DEAD AS A RESULT OF THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING ALL NIGHT. AAA CERTIFIED SHOP JUST INFORMED ME IT WOULD COST 1600.00 TO REPLACE THE TIPM AND PROGRAM IT FOR MY KEY ETC. THERE IS A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY INSIDE THE TIPM AND I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MODULE. THIS ISSUE IS MOST LIKELY RELATED TO THE DURANGO/JEEP RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE, AS WELL DESCRIBED IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. IT IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTEGRATED POWER CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER RESETTING THE KEY, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND THE WIN MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
PURCHASED TRUCK 2/7/15. NOTICED IT DRIFTED AND PULLED. TOOK TRUCK BACK FOR SERVICE TWICE. WAS TOLD BOTH TIMES THE ALIGNMENT WAS WITHIN FACTORY SPEC. THE SECOND TIME I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO DIFFERENT TIRE TREAD DEPTHS. THE TIRES WERE BRAND NEW, INSTALLED BY THE DEALERSHIP. NOW STILL THE TRUCK FEELS VERY UNSTABLE ON THE ROAD, CONSTANTLY WEAVING LEFT TO RIGHT. WHEN HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD IT FEELS AS IF THE FRONT END IS COMING APART. MY TRUCK WAS EVIDENTLY PART OF THE "AXEL RECALL" WHICH IS NOW PART OF THIS LARGE FIASCO REQUIRING THE TRUCK BE BOUGHT BACK FROM ME BUT I CANNOT GET A HOLD OF FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOTIVE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
ON FEBRUARY 6,2015 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND FEEL ASLEEP DOING 75,RUN INTO A BACK OF A BIG TRUCK,I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT,BUT MY AIRBAG DON'T DEPLOYED,I DID RECEIVE INJURY MY CHEST AND HEAD,AND THE TRUCK I RAN INTO WAS A HIT AND RUN, I CALLED MY WIFE TO TELL HER WHAT HAD HAPPEN,BUTSHE WAS 7 HOURS AWAY SO SHE CALLED OUR INSURANCE AND REPORT THE ACCIDENT,THE INSURANCE WAS SENDING A WRECKER BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED UP,I STAYED ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE ALL NIGHT,THE ACCIDENT HAPPEN AT 10:00 PM,FINALLY THE NEXT MORNING AT 8:30AM I COP TAP ON MY WINDOW AND TOOK A REPORT,NOW INSURANCE FIX THE DAMAGE BUT WILL NOT TAKE A LOOK AT THE AIRBAGS THEY SAY IT WAS NOT A HARD HIT. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL THE TRUCK WITH GAS, ONCE THE TANK IS FULL THE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF AND A SECOND LATER GAS OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE ALL OVER ME THE TRUCK AND THE GROUND. I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES AND THEY HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. THIS IS A VERY MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THE DEALER NOE CHRYSLER WILL REPAIR WITHOUT CHARGE. *TR

RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL AND CONTACTED THE DEALER TO SETUP AN APPOINTMENT AND HAVE BEEN TOLD REPEATEDLY THE PARTS ARE NOT IN. CHRYSLER WAS SUPPOSED TO SEND OUT A LETTER TO THE VEHICLE OWNER ADVISING WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THE LETTER HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT FIXED. WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN, THE ENGINE STALLED OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH PRIOR. DURING BOTH INSTANCES, I COASTED THROUGH THE TURN TO A STOP BUT HAD DIFFICULTLY STEERING AND BRAKING. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. I BELIEVE IN OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES THIS ISSUE MAY CAUSE A CRASH SITUATION. I HAVE RESEARCHED FOR RECALLS AND BULLETINS BUT FOUND NONE. I HAVE, HOWEVER, FOUND MANY ONLINE INTERNET COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. IT USUALLY COMES BACK ON WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. NOW IT IS COMPLETELY OUT. A NEW BULB WAS ATTEMPTED BUT FAILED TO FIX THE ISSUE. ALSO THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM ACTIVATES AT RANDOM TIMES CAUSING THE HORN TO ACTIVATE AND VEHICLES LIGHTS TO ALL FLASH. ONE OCCASION THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THE ISSUES ARE GETTING WORSE AND MORE FREQUENT. *TR
WHILE PARKING, THE TRK ACCELERATED AND ALMOST HIT 3 CARS BEFORE STOPPING W BRAKES SLAMMED TO THE FLOOR. WE ARE ON VACATION ARE 7 HRS FROM HOME! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE FRONT AXLE FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT AXLE FRACTURED CAUSING A FAILURE WITH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND THE TRANSFER CASE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR A NEWLY DESIGNED PART TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO SUPPLY THE PART TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRUCK WILL NOT START. TECHNICIAN FOUND AN INTERNAL FAULT ON THE TIPM MODULE. WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. CURRENTLY, THERE IS A FAULT OF THE TIPM MODULE, IF THE TIPM MODULE FAILS (LOSS OF POWER TO FUEL PUMP), COULD LEAD TO A CRASH/LOSS OF LIFE. *TR

CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD VEHICLE IS NOT RECALLED AT THIS TIME. AS A MECHANIC WITH 30 PLUS YRS EXPERIENCE I WILL NOT HESITATE TO REPLACE THESE PARTS AND HOPE THAT THE NHTSA AND CHRYSLER ACT AS QUICKLY IN RECALLING THESE VEHICLES. *TR
OPERATING NORMALLY, A GRINDING NOISE BEGAN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND DIAGNOSED AS A REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARING FAILURE, LIKELY DUE TO THE PREVIOUS RECALL #NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V656000 WHICH WAS DONE IMMEDIATELY AFTER NOTIFICATION. SIGNIFICANT COSTS WERE INCURRED TO REPAIR THE DIFFERENTIAL, AXLE AND BEARINGS. NO HEAVY PAYLOADS OR TOWING WAS DONE. MAINTENANCE IS ALWAYS DONE ON TIME AND RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE DEALERSHIP. ITS SEEMS INCONCEIVABLE THAT SUCH A NEW TRUCK COULD HAVE A VERY SIGNIFICANT FAILURE. *TR
THERE IS NO POWER GOING TO MY FUEL PUMP. THE FUSES ARE GOOD . THE ONLY THING I CAN COME UP WITH IS TIPM NOT WORKING. *TR

I REPLACED A FUEL PUMP, THEN A BATTERY, BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT WAS THE PROBLEM WITH MY 2011 RAM 1500. COME TO FIND OUT IT IS A DEFECTIVE TIPM MODULE THAT IS NOW ON RECALL FOR SEVERAL OTHER MODELS OF DODGE VEHICLES. MY TIPM IS THE SAME ONES ON RECALL EXCEPT NOT ON THE RAM 1500. IT HAS COST ME $1,300.00. NOT THEY WANT $1,200.00 MORE. ADD ME TO ANY COMPLAINT AND RECALL REPAIRS YOU MAY HAVE.
WHEN DRIVING OVER 60, THE ENTIRE TRUCK VIOLENTLY SHAKES/WOBBLES/VIBRATES. THIS HAPPENS ANYTIME GOING OVER 60, AND IS NOT CAUSED BY HITTING A BUMP OR SLOPE IN THE ROAD. BEEN TO CHRYSLER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND A ROOT CAUSE. REPLACED ALL TIRES, ALIGNED, NEW U-JOINTS, NEW ROTORS, STILL IS NOT RESOLVED.
3 YEAR OLD TIPM (FUSE BOX) JUST DECIDED TO STOP WORKING ON MY 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. TRUCK WOULD NOT START. STRANDED MY FAMILY OUT OF STATE. DEALERSHIP HAD TO ORDER A PART WHICH TOOK 3 BUSINESS DAYS TO SHIP TO DEALERSHIP FROM DENVER. COST US $1200 AND A CAR RENTAL. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THAT DODGE/CHRYSLER ARE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS ITEM, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. *TR
TRUCK WOULD NOT START, WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. NO WARNING LIGHTS (CHECK ENGINE) ETC. HAD TO TAKE IT TO LOCAL DEALER, DEALER CONTACTED ME NEXT DAY INFORMING ME IT WAS THE PINION WHATEVER THAT IS. COST OF REPAIRS IS OVER 1200 DOLLARS. FOUND OUT THAT THE PINION IS THE HI TECH NAME FOR THE FUSE BOX THAT'S UNDER THE HOOD. I ASKED TO SEE THE OLD PART AND THE PERSON AT THE PARTS COUNTER STATED THAT THEY CHANGED (3) THREE OF THEM TODAY,.. THAT'S VERY SAD TO HEAR FOR US DODGE OWNERS. *TR
NEARLY A YEAR AGO, I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM RAM OF A RECALL ON A REAR AXLE PINION NUT. THEY SAID THAT THE NUT COULD LOOSEN DUE TO UNDERSIZED PINION SHAFT SPLINES, POSSIBLY CAUSING THE REAR AXLE TO SEIZE OR CAUSE THE DRIVE SHAFT TO SEPARATE, POSSIBLY CAUSING A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN I CALLED A LOCAL DEALER IN REGARDS TO THE RECALL NOTICE, THEY SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE REQUIRED PART TO REMEDY THE RECALL AND THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE THE PART IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014. I WAITED UNTIL OCTOBER TO CALL AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY STILL DIDN'T HAVE IT. NOW IN MAY 2015, I'VE RECEIVED BETWEEN 4-5 MORE NOTICES SINCE THE FIRST AND I TRIED TO GET THE PART FIXED OR REPLACED AND THE DEALER STILL DOESN'T HAVE THE PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I ASK YOU THEN NHTSA, WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT IN HAVING CAR MANUFACTURERS SEND NOTICES LIKE THESE OUT TELLING CONSUMERS TO GET THE PROBLEMS FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER WHEN THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE?! WHAT IS YOUR FIX TO FIX THE CAR MANUFACTURERS AND LOOK OUT FOR CONSUMERS AND THE PUBLIC SAFETY?!
THE IGNITION SWITCH HAS GONE OUT IN MY VEHICLE AND I WAS ADVISED AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY IGNITION SWITCHES OUT FOR DELIVERY AND THERE WAS A 3 WEEK DELAY FOR GETTING IN THE PART. THIS TELLS ME THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS PART. I AM NOW WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND HAVING TO GET A RENTAL CAR. *TR
INSERTING THE KEY FOB TURNS ON ALL ELECTRICAL WITHOUT TURNING THE KEY. AFTER THE ENGIN IS RUNNING, YOU CANNOT TURN IT OFF WITH THE KEY. IT CONTINUES TO RUN WITH THE KEY REMOVED. *TR
MY TURN SIGNAL SWITCH DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE WHEN TURNING LEFT. I TURN IT DOWN TO SELECT THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL AND DOES NOT WORK AT ALL ANYMORE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE HAD 2 BLOW OUTS (INSTANTANEOUS TIRE DEFLATIONS) IN THE LAST 30 DAYS. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER AND CONFIRMED ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A WELL KNOWN DEFECT ON THIS VEHICLE CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS/VALVE STEMS (TPMS) CORRODING CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHERE THE VALVE STEM IS LOST AND THE TIRE DEFLATES. BOTH OCCURRENCES WERE WHEN I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED ON A FREEWAY. LUCKILY THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC AND I WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL AND PULL ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. ON INSPECTION OF THE TIRE THE VALVE STEM WAS MISSING WITH A HOLE INTO THE TIRE. UNFORTUNATELY DESPITE THE DEALER BEING AWARE OF THE PROBLEM IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AND COSTS $140 TO REPAIR. AS ABOVE, THIS IS THE 2ND EXACT FAILURE ON THE SAME VEHICLE. IT APPEARS I AM EXPECTED TO PAY OVER $500 TO GET THEM ALL CHANGED. IN THE MEANTIME I AM NOT ALLOWING MY WIFE OR FAMILY TO TRAVEL IN WHAT I NOW CONSIDER A DANGEROUS TRUCK. *TR
TRUCK STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. TRUCK STALLS WHENEVER SHIFTING FROM PARK INTO REVERSE DRIVE. RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER TRUCK. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED IT TO A DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTER AND IS REPLACING IT AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP. *TR
THE TRUCK RANDOMLY WOULD NOT START SOMETIME REQUIRING A JUMP START. REPLACED BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. ONLY AFTER DOING ONLINE RESEARCH FIGURED OUT IT WAS THE TIPM.
2011 DODGE RAM. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO LEFT TIE ROD RECALL NOTICE PROBLEMS. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER HE SHOULD EXPECT TO WAIT TWENTY WEEKS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO DECELERATE AND LOSE POWER. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF, THE FUEL PUMP REMAINED RUNNING AND CAUSED POWER TO DRAIN FROM THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEFECTS WERE ALL DUE TO A FAULTY TPM (TOTALLY POWER MODULE) AND THE MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE HAS BECOME DEFECTIVE. IT WILL NO LONGER HOLD THE KEY FOB IN PLACE ONCE THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. THE KEY SIMPLY FALLS OUT BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES RUNNING. THE VEHICLE WILL ALSO TURN OFF WHILE STILL IN GEAR NOW. ADDITIONALLY, SOMETIMES THE MODULE WILL NOT TURN, OR WILL NOT TURN COMPLETELY, WHEN THE KEY IS INSERTED AND YOU ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE. SOMETIMES IT WON'T TURN COMPLETELY TO THE OFF POSITION ONCE THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. CHRYSLER SAFETY RECALL K08 ISSUED IN AUGUST 2010 ADDRESSES THESE ISSUES IN THE 2010 RAM TRUCKS BUT FOR SOME REASON IT DOES NOT COVER THE 2011 MODELS. DODGE HAS TOLD ME IT IS MY PROBLEM TO FIX AND NOT THEIR DEFECT. *TR
REAR AXLE PINION NUT N08/NHTSA ON 2/22/2014 AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM REFUSED TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT, EVEN AFTER I HAD SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AT 0720 ON 2/22/2014 AND WAS TOLD BY A [XXX] THAT THIS WAS USUALLY NOT AN ISSUE FOR RAM TRUCKS, THAT THEY WERE SHORT-STAFFED AND THAT THEY COULD NOT GET TO THE VEHICLE UNTIL NEXT WEEK, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO REPAIR THE RECALL ISSUE. IT APPEARED THEY DID NOT WANT TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR, BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT MAKE ANY MONEY OFF OF THE REPAIR AS IT WAS A RECALL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL NOW NEED TO BE GIVEN DIRECTION AS TO WHERE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIR.
