9-16-16: VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND HAD TO BE "JUMPED". 9-17-16: NEW BATTERY INSTALLED BUT LATER IN THE DAY, STARTING PROBLEMS WENT ON. 9-19-16: VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER; INITIAL PROBLEM IDENTIFIED AS NEEDING NEW FUEL PUMP AND PLUGS. LATER, THIS WAS THEN IDENTIFIED AS HAVING A FAULTY "TIPM" AND THAT COST WOULD BE OVER $2000.00 (THAT INCLUDED A NEW FUEL PUMP. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS APPARENTLY BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT TAKE ACTION TO ISSUE A RECALL. IN REALITY, DID WE BUY A VEHICLE WHICH THE MANUFACTURER KNEW TO CONTAIN DEFECTIVE PARTS? PARTS, WHICH IN REALITY, CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES? SHAME ON THEM! I THOUGHT THAT I HAD A QUALITY VEHICLE. I PAID OVER $45,000 FOR THIS TRUCK AND IT WAS BUILD WITH THIS DEFECTIVE PART? HELP ME OUT HERE AND HELP OUT THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WHO ARE JUST WAITING FOR THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN.
VEHICLE CRANKS BUT DOE NOT START, ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNINGS. DEALER INSTALLED AN EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY, HOPEFULLY IT WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BOX FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND NOW THE BATTERY IS DRAINING EASILY AND IT WILL NOT START UNLESS YOU SWITCH IT ON AND TAKE IT OUT OF PARK INTO DRIVE FOR ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE TIMES. WHEN YOU PUT IT BACK IN PARK IT WILL START. I HAVE REVIEWED A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM OTHER OWNERS. I WAS TOLD BY THE CHRYSLER DEALER THAT IT MAY BE THE EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY BUT OTHERS WERE TOLD THAT TOO AND THEY STILL HAD THE SAME STARTING ISSUE AFTER PAYING A HUGE EXPENSE FOR THIS TYPE OF REPAIR.
I HAVE A DODGE RAM 1500. A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO I WAS IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC DOING ABOUT 60 MPH WHEN THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE AND THE TRUCK DIED! I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO COAST ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND ONTO THE SHOULDER. AFTER DOING A QUICK SEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE SAME ENGINE IN THE SAME YEAR BUT ONLY IF ITS IN A CHARGER, CHALLENGER OR A 300(THE RECALL IS CALLED CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION P01, SEE ATTACHED) . THE FAILURE I EXPERIENCED IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CARS. I WAS DOING HIGHWAY SPEED IN FUEL SAVING MODE AND WHEN THE ENGINE AUTOMATICALLY KICKS INTO 8 CYLINDER MODE THE TIMING CHAIN BRAKES. MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THE ENGINE IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL BECAUSE ITS IN A TRUCK NOT A CAR. WHEN THE CHAIN BREAKS IN ONE OF THESE ENGINES IT COMPLETELY DESTROYS THE PISTONS AND VALVES. I NEED NEW ENGINE! THIS IS VERY UNSAFE FLAW IN THIS ENGINE AND THE RECALL SHOULD APPLY TO ALL ENGINES OF THIS MODEL INCLUDING THE ONES IN RAM TRUCKS. I AM A VERY EXPERIENCED DRIVER IM CERTAIN THAT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO ANYONE WITH LESS EXPERIENCE THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
TRUCK HAS INTERMITTENTLY STARTED OFF AN ON THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE OWNED IT (10 MONTHS). TRUCK DIED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO COAST TO A STOP TRUCK NOW WONT START AT ALL I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY'VE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, WIRING HARNESS. SAME SYMPTOMS APPEAR AFTER BOTH "REPAIRS".

THE DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM BY SUPPLYING POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP, USING AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE. UPDATED 11/03/16.*JB
THE TIPM OUR DODGE TRUCK IS FAULTY. IT HAS ISSUES STARTING, THE LIGHTS WILL STOP WORKING, THE LIGHTS ON DASH COME ON, THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE OIL JUST DISAPPEARING, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ONLINE AND SAW THAT SEVERAL VEHICLES UNDER CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH FAULTY TIPM AND THERE WAS EVEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT,BUT THE NHTSA FELT THERE WASN'T ENOUGH OF AN ISSUE WITH THE DODGE RAMS TO PUSH FOR A RECALL. I BELIEVE THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE PUSHED FOR A RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING IN A LOT OF RAMS AND THEY ARE PASSED THE WARRANTY AND WHEN YOU PURCHASE A NEW WARRANTY THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED. ALL EXPENSES ARE PAID OUT OF POCKET. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE BEEN AWARE OF FOR YEARS. OUR DODGE RAM HAS BEEN AT THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES WITH ISSUES AND THEY DID NOT TELL US ONCE ABOUT THE TIPM ISSUES. WE HAD TO FIGURE IT OUT OURSELVES WITH INTERNET RESEARCH. A CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT BE PAYING CLOSE TO OR OVER $2,000 OUT OF POCKET TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT THE MANUFACTURING COMPANY NEW WAS A DEFECT OR FAULTY. SEVERAL MILLION DODGE RAM OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE REPORTED IT ACCORDING TO THE PUBLICATION OF THE NHTSA. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY CUSTOMERS ARE BEING PUNISHED TO PROTECT THE MANUFACTURER'S MISTAKES. OUR DODGE HAS SPENT MORE TIME IN THE SHOP IN THE PAST YEAR THEN WITH US. WE HAVE ONLY OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR TWO YEARS.
TIPM TRUCK WONT START BECAUSE OF THIS.. POWER WINDOWS HAD BEEN ACTING UP.. NOW FIND OUT AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IF GET IN ACCIDENT.. REALLY? THIS ISNT A RECALL?
LIFTER FAILURE AND CYLINDER MISFIRE. LOUD ENGINE TICK WHICH IS CAUSED FROM FAILING LIFTER AND SPRING TO CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE CAM. COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE HEMI 5.7L. TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 47000 MILES AND JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. REPAIRS ARE COSTING $3800.00. TRUCK IS UNDRIVABLE FOR FEAR OF ENGINE PISTON BREAKING CYLINDER WALL.
I SPENT 30+ MINUTES TRYING TO GET MY TRUCK TO START THEN WHEN I FINALLY GOT IT TO START WHERE I COULD DRIVE IT I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY SHUT OFF THEN THEN NOT EVEN TO MINUTES LATER MY TRUCK STALLED OUT ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY AND WOULDNT START BACK UP FOR ANOTHER 30 MINUTES OR SO.
MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM NOT WORKING PROPERLY. OVER TIME IT HAS GOT A LOT WORSE I WENT THROUGH AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP WITH THE ORIGINAL PUMP AND STILL HASN'T HELPED. THROUGH RESEARCH I WAS ABLE TO NARROW IT DOWN TO A TIPM ISSUE. NOT ONLY IS IT AFFECTING MY FUEL SYSTEM BUT ALSO THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL AT RANDOM GO UP A FEW INCHES WHEN UNLOCKING THE TRUCK OR OPENING THE DOOR. THE FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE IS WHEN I GO TO START IT WILL JUST CRANK CONSTANTLY AND NOT START TO NOW I MIGHT GET IT STARTED AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS BUT THEN IT JUST STALLS AFTER A SECOND OF RUNNING. IT HAS ALSO AT TIME WHILE DRIVING JUST RANDOMLY STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CREATING A HAZARD OF A ACCIDENT. I SEE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITHIN THESE TRUCKS BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TO RECENTLY PULL THE FUSE EVERY TIME I PARK FOR A PERIOD OF TIME TO PREVENT THE FUEL PUMP FROM CONSTANTLY RUNNING AND KILLING MY BATTERY WHICH HAPPENED JUST THE OTHER DAY. BACK IN AUGUST I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY DUE TO THE OTHER ONE DYING ON ME I BELIEVE DUE TO THE FUEL PUMP TIPM ISSUE.
2011 RAM 1500 SPORT WITH TIPM-7. VEHICLE STARTED HAVING PROBLEM STARTING, I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A LOSS IN FUEL PRESSURE. REPLACED FUEL PUMP. DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCH FOUND OUT THIS TRUCK HAS TIPM-7. REPAIR SHOP VERIFIED THIS. THE INJECTORS WERE CHECKED AND WERE FINE. ENGINE RUNS PERFECTLY AFTER START. DIAGNOSIS FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE SAME FUEL PUMP RELAY THAT CHRYSLER RECALLED 230,000 VEHICLES IN 2014 AND AN ADDITIONAL 467,000 VEHICLES IN 2015. WHY WON'T CHRYSLER FIX THEIR SCREW UPS?
TAKATA RECALL. MY 2011 DODGE RAM HEMI SPORT. THE STEERING WHEEL HORN PAD OVER MY SRS AIRBAG IS CRACKED AND CRACKING MORE EACH DAY. IM AFRAID THAT IT WILL MAKE MY AIRBAG POP OR SHOW AND INJURE MY SELF OR OTHERS DRIVING. IT JUST STARTED A COUPLE DAYS AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO HIT THE HORN.
2 YEARS AGO HAD TO REPLACE THE TIPM ON MY TRUCK AND NOE ITS STARTING TO MESS UP AGAIN. TRUCKS JUST DIES WHILE DRIVING NO WARNING. IT JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I HAVE TO REPLACE IT AGAIN. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. IT COST ME 1500.00 TO REPAIR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I HAVE A 5.7 HEMI. IT HAS A BAD TICKING SOUND ON BOTH SIDES AND IS MISFIRING ON #8 CYLINDER. I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT AND AFTER RESEARCHING ABOUT IT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE 5.7 HEMI. I CAN'T FIND A RECALL ON IT AND I THINK SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. I THINK THE DODGE PLACE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE SINCE IT'S AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH IT. THIS TICKING SOUND HAPPEN ANYTIME IT'S RUNNING.
TL* THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL DISENGAGED FROM THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL HAD A FAULTY LOWER CONTROL ARM AND SPINDLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TRUCK STARTED MAKING A NOISE FROM THE ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE A BEARING IN A PULLEY BROUGHT IT TO A REPAIR SHOP THERE DIAGNOSE WAS A VALVE SEAT GOING BAD AND IT IS COMMON IN 5.7 HEM I ENGINE WHICH IS WHAT I HAVE. HOW IS CHRYSLER HELPING TRUCK OWNERS REPAIR THIS FINANCIALLY SINCE IT IS A KNOW PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT TOLD TO RAM OWNERS WHEN THEY BUY THESE VEHICLES. ONLY HAS 129,000 MILES WITH A REPAIR COST 4,500.00 -5000.00 DOLLARS . THIS IS THE FIRST RAM I'VE EVER OWNED AND I REALLY DO EXPECT DODGE/ CHRYSLER TO HELP ME OUT WITH THIS ISSUE FINANCIALLY.THIS STARTED LAST WEEK WHEN I FIRST STARTED THE TRUCK IN THE MORNING AND IN 1 WEEK THE TICK TACK SOUND WENT FROM EVERY 2-6 SECONDS TO EVERY 2-3 SECONDS AND INCREASES WHEN IT WARMS UP.
AT 53,283 MILES A NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS TIRE NOISE, BUT DETERMINED IT HAD TO BE SOMETHING RELATED TO THE REAR END DRIVE POWER TRAIN. AT 53,383 MILES I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. THIS IS THE DEALER'S COMMENTS: "CUSTOMER STATES:C/S: C/S THERE IS A NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END, MIGHT BE THE BARINGS. WENT ON ROAD TEST WITH SEAN F. HE CONFIRMED THERE IS A NOISE, POSSIBLE REAR WHEEL BEARING AND ITS SPEED RELATED. CHECK AND ADVISE OBSERVATIONS: VERIFIED NOISE FROM REAR END TEAR DOWN REAR DIFFERENTIAL TO DETERMINE FAILED COMPONENT. OBSERVATIONS: PINION BEARINGS FAILED CAUSING ABNORMAL WEAR OF GEARS REBUILD REAR DIFFERENTIAL -$2,591.00." IF THE REAR END GEAR BOX HAD FAILED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (60 TO 75 MPH) IT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE LED TO INJURIES OR DEATH. THIS COMPONENT FAILED AT 53% OF ITS DESIGN LIFE - 100,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS FIVE MONTHS BEYOND ITS 5 YEAR CALENDAR WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT WELL WITHIN ITS DESIGN RELIABILITY FOR SAFETY OF 100,000 MILES. I HAVE REQUESTED ALL PARTS BE PROPERLY MARKED AND TAG ALONG WITH ANY MAINTENANCE CHECKLISTS, PROCEDURE DOCUMENTS OR MANUFACTURER GUIDANCE DOCUMENTS USED IN CONDUCTING THE DIS-ASSEMBLY, INSPECTION, REPAIR AND RE-ASSEMBLY BE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE RECORD.
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED LAST NOVEMBER. THE FACTORY WINDSHIELD IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THROUGH AT NIGHT, AND IF WE'RE DRIVING IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT, WHAT LITTLE VISIBILITY THERE IS. IS LIMITED TO LESS THAN 50 FEET. THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN COOS BAY, OREGON SAYS THAT IT'S A FACTORY-INSTALLED WINDSHIELD AND DECLINES TO TAKE ANY FURTHER RESPONSIBILITY. THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT REQUIRES OUR USING THE HIGH BEAMS (WHEN SAFE FOR ONCOMING DRIVERS -- NOT A GOOD MIX.) THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN COOS BAY, OREGON INVESTIGATED THE HEADLIGHTS WITH A VISUAL CHECK, AND SAID THEY'RE "OKAY."
FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AREA. LOTS OF PLAY IN THE STEERING AND A CLUNK WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND IF IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL. THEY SAID THE STERING GEAR AND INNER TIE RODS ARE BAD AND THE FRONT HUBS ARE MAKING NOISE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 70,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT OFF ROAD OR DROVE IT HARD. IT IS USED FOR DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK. JUST FOR THE COST OF THOSE ITEMS THEY QUOTED ME $2312.99. I HAVE OWNED THREE DIFFERENT TRUCKS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS AND WITH SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. DEALER STATED IT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THIS TRUCK FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THE STEERING BEING SO LOOSE.
AT FIRST THE VEHICLE WAS NOT STARTING IMMEDIATELY WHEN TURNING THE KEY, THEN I HEARD A BUZZING SOUND COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK MY HUSBAND HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR IT TO STOP. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE SERVICE DEPT AT A DODGE DEALER AND AT THE TIME THEY COULD NOT VERIFY PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT AND NOTE WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I DROVE IT A FEW MORE TIMES AND WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WOULD DIE MORE FREQUENTLY WITH THE ON HILLS, FROM A STOP SIGN, AND ON STRAIGHT AWAYS, ONCE THE STEERING FROZE. THERE WERE FEW DAYS OF THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING AT ALL. A VEHICLE OWNER SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THEIR TRUCK, WHICH I AM. A MONTH LATER I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPT AND THEY HEARD THE BUZZING SOUND AND THEN WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS THE TIPM . I HAVE NOTICED OTHER OWNERS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. HERE I HAVE A VEHICLE, MIND YOU WHICH I JUST PURCHASED LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AGO AND I AM HAVING THESE MAJOR ISSUES. BUT THE WORST PART IS IT WILL COST $1600.00 TO REPAIR AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER IT. I THINK THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM. TIPM CAUSES BOTH HI AND LOW BEAMS ON PASSENGER SIDE TO GO OUT. BULBS ARE FINE. WHEN TRUCK IS STARTED OR EVEN REMOTE LOCK/UNLOCK ONLY DRIVERS LIGHTS FLASH AT FIRST LIGHTS WOULD COME BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES ON THE ROAD, NOW THEY STAY OFF AND HAVEN'T CAME BACK FOR SEVERAL WEEKS
WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE AT A TYPICAL GAS STATION, AND THE STATION'S FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY, FUEL COMES UP THE FUEL FILLER NECK AND WASHES DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME, BUT DOES HAPPEN MOST OF THE TIME, AND AT VARIOUS STATION LOCATIONS AND VARIOUS STATION COMPANIES. I'VE READ OTHER REPORTS THAT INDICATE THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS AFFECTED OTHER OWNERS OF SIMILAR VEHICLES. AS SOON AS I DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER, HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM. PER THE SERVICE MANAGER, THIS ISSUE HAS ONLY BEEN ADDRESSED WITH REGARD TO A FEW VEHICLE MODELS AND YEARS, AND THIS ONE IS NOT COVERED. WORKING WITH DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE, A CASE NUMBER HAS BEEN OPENED. THE DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO LOWER THE COST OF THE LABOR TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK FILLER TUBE, HOWEVER WE WILL BE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR THE PART AND THE REPAIR FOR A KNOWN DEFECT. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE 'WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN' AND THE "ABOUT HOW MANY MILES WERE ON YOUR VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT' FIELDS DON'T REALLY APPLY, AS THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE, AND CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME I GO THE THE GAS STATION TO FILL UP THE VEHICLE. THE DATE I PROVIDED FOR THE 'WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN' FIELD IS THE DATE THAT I VISITED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND SPOKE WITH DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

MY TIPM FUSE BOX . MY FUEL PUMP STAY ON WHEN I TURN OFF THE PICK UP AND WHEN IM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IT WILL JUST SHUT DOWN NOW IT WILL NOT START WHEN COLD.(DEALERSHIP) SEZ IT A BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY THAT IS INTERGRATED TO THE FUSE BOX. MY WIPERS WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN. (DEALERSHIP) SEZ IT'S THE FUSE BOX AND HAS TO BE REPLACED FOR $1,000 MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 12,500 MILES ON IT AND IS 5YRS OLD. DEALERSHIP TELLS ME IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES.
WHILE DRIVING ON A 2 LANE ROAD AT 50 MPH APPROX SPEED, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES BECAME EXTREMELY STIFF, BUT I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE TRUCK TO SHOULDER. AFTER STOPPING, I PUT IT IN PARK, THE KEY WAS STILL IN ON POSITION; TURNED KEY AND ENGINE STARTED. I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR 45 DAYS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE AT TOTALLY RANDOM TIMES. I AM VERY FORTUNATE I WAS ON A ROAD WITHOUT MUCH TRAFFIC. HAD I BEEN IN A STEERING, PASSING OR OTHER SITUATION, I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT I LEARNED FROM INTERNET THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT COMPLAINT OF RAM OWNERS AND OTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT VEHICLE OWNERS, AND THAT A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR CERTAIN CHRYSLER VEHICLES ALREADY. THE FAULTY PART WAS THE TIPM MODULE. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN PROCESS INVOLVING OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES NOT YET RECALLED, INCLUDING THE MODEL I OWN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER, AND THEY COULD NOT POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE CAUSE. THEY WOULD NOT AGREE TO REPLACE TIPM EVEN THOUGH I'M UNDER WARRANTY, BUT INSTEAD WANTED TO DO SOFTWARE UPDATES ON SEVERAL "MODULES" AND SAID IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN, I SHOULD BRING IT BACK. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I CALLED RAM CUSTOMER CARE AND EXPLAINED THAT THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND THAT I CANNOT ACCEPT A SOFTWARE UPDATE IN THE HOPE IT FIXES IT GIVEN THE TIPM HISTORY OF THESE VEHICLES. THEY ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC "CODES" PRESENT, SO THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIPM. THEY THEN ADMITTED THAT A FAULTY TIPM WOULD NOT PRODUCE ANY CODES, BUT AGAIN SAID THEY NEEDED TO RULE OUT A SOFTWARE ISSUE FIRST BY TRIAL AND ERROR AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIPM EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE IF IT WAS FAULTY. MY SON IS DRIVING THIS TRUCK TO COLLEGE, AND I AM NOT ABOUT TO RISK HIM BEING KILLED IN THIS VEHICLE SO I WAS FORCED TO PAY $1,350 FOR A NEW TIPM. RAM NEEDS TO RECALL THESE IMMEDIATELY.

"TAKATA RECALL" MY 2011 RAM 1500 STOPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET AND STEERING WHEEL GOT HARD AND IT WAS HARD TO START UP. 2011 RAM 1500 TIPM ISSUE. RAM 1500'S ARE NOT PART OF THE KNOWN RECALL FOR DURANGO AND GRAND CHEROKEE'S HOWEVER A QUICK SEARCH REVEALS THE SAME ISSUE THAT PLAGUES MY 2011 RAM 1500. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. VEHICLE HAD POWER BUT WOULD NOT CRANK. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY TIPM.
HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. EVEN ON BRIGHT LIGHTS, THEY ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. IN SPEAKING WITH OTHER DODGE RAM OWNERS, THEY, TOO HAVE SEEN A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT FROM THE REDISIGNED HEADLIGHTS. CANNOT HARDLY SEE 20 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I CANNOT DRIVE THIS TRUCK AT NIGHT.
I CALLED IN SINCE MY VEHICLE FELL INTO THE STATED RANGE FOR THE DODGE RAM RECALL. SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITHIN THE DATES MENTIONED I THOUGHT I WOULD BE ENTITLED TO REMEDIATION. HOWEVER I WAS TOLD THAT MINE WAS NOT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ABSOLUTE PROOF THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT EFFECTED BY THIS RECALL.
