VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND IN PARK. PARKING BRAKE NOT ENGAGED. UNLOADING GROCERIES WITH RT REAR DOOR OPEN. THE TRUCK ROLLED BACKWARDS ABOUT 1.5 FEET THEN STOPPED. THIS TRUCK HAS THE COLUMN SHIFTER. NOTICED COMPLAINTS CONCERNING ROTARY SHIFTER. HOWEVER, IT ROLLED ON ITS OWN WHILE THE SHIFTER WAS IN PARK POSITION. TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 25 DEGREES AND CLEAR. LEFT TIRES WERE ON DRY PAVEMENT. RIGHT TIRES ON SNOW. TRUCK DID NOT SLIDE AS IT LEFT VERY NOTICEABLE TIRE TRACKS.. FIRST TIME WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. NOW WE ARE VERY LEARY OF THE TRUCK ROLLING UNATTENDED... THANKS
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE THE REAR TAIL GATE OPENS ON ITS OWN, THIS HAPPENS EVEN AFTER LOCKING THE DOORS WITH MANUAL LOCK BUTTON IN VEHICLE, THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES , I HAD TO STOP AND RECOVER CARGO WHICH FELL FROM PICK UP BED, WHEN I REPORTED PROBLEM TO DEALER I WAS TOLD IT IS A FAULTY CONTROL UNIT AND LATCH WHICH WAS NOT COVERED ON SERVICE CONTRACT , I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW FROM SECURITY DODGE CHRYSLER IN AMITYVILLE , NY . , STARTED AROUND NOVEMBER 2017
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN AUGUST 2016 IN MISSOURI AT A USED CAR DEALER. WHEN I WAS NOTIFIED I HAD A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REFUSED TO FIX ANY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WAS BUILT IN CANADA. I WAS NOT TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS FROM CANADA WHEN I BOUGHT IT, NOR DID I KNOW I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO RECALLS. SO BASICALLY I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND IN A UNSAFE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT ABOUT 65 MPH VEHICLE BEGAN PULLING TO THE LEFT WAS ABLE TO CORRECT BUT THEN NOTICED THE FRONT END APPEARED TO BE LOW. WHEN I STOPPED I NOTICED THE FRONT END WHEEL WELLS WERE ALL MOST ON TOP OF THE TIRES. AFTER I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT BUT I CYCLED THOUGH THE MESSAGES AND SAW A MESSAGE THAT SAID SERVICE AIR SUSPENSION IMMEDIATELY. ATTEMPTED TO RAISE THE VEHICLE USING AIR SUSPENSION BUTTONS TO RAISE THE FRONT END BUT IT DID NOT FUNCTION. THE FAILURE OF SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AT HIGHWAY SPEED COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL. I HAVE SCHEDULED SERVICE WITH THE DEALER BUT THEY COULD NOT GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR 5 DAYS. AFTER REVIEWING SEVERAL RAM VEHICLE FORUMS I SEE THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RAM 4 CORNER AIR SUSPENSION. FIAT (CHRYSLER) SHOULD FIX THESE ISSUES AS SUSPENSION FAILURE COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTS OR WORSE AS THESE SYSTEMS AGE AND FAIL. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 28,000 MILES AND IF IT IS FAILING ALREADY I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS. IF FIAT CAN NOT DO A VIABLE FIX THEY SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE THE SYSTEMS WITH COIL SPRINGS.
ON 12/7/16, A DESOLATE, STRAIGHT, COUNTRY ROAD, I STOPPED MY TRUCK TO INVESTIGATE DAMAGE FROM A DEER THAT HAD RUN INTO THE DRIVER'S FENDER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 25 MPH. EVEN THOUGH I PLACED THE TRUCK IN PARK AFTER MY STOP (TO MAKE IT STATIONARY), THE RAM STARTED MOVING AS I ATTEMPTED TO EXIT ITS CABIN; AND THEN IT DROVE FOR ABOUT 300 FEET AT IDLE SPEED DOWN THE ROAD, WHERE IT STOPPED IN A SHALLOW DRAINAGE DITCH. MEANWHILE, THE RAM'S "SELF-DRIVING" MODE HAD CAUSED ME TO SLIP ON THE RUNNING BOARD AND TO FALL VERY HARD TO THE GROUND (A DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 22 INCHES). THE RESULTS: PAIN, HAND AND KNEE CUTS, EXTREME BRUISING AND SWELLING OF THE ENTIRE LEFT LEG, AND BRUISING AND SWELLING OF THE LOWER RIGHT LEG. THESE REQUIRED SOME MEDICAL ATTENTION. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO BLOOD CLOTS, NO BROKEN BONES, NO DISLOCATED LIMBS, NOR RUN-OVER LIMBS! I WAS VERY LUCKY!! *TR
I HAD A CAR ACCIDENT ON DECEMBER 4 ,2016. AND MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T CAME OUT CAUSING INJURY TO MY RIBS AND NECK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ROLLED OVER AN INCLINE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE AND CAUGHT FIRE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY ENDED ON OCTOBER 15, 2016. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THE HEAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOES NOT WORK IT WORK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TAILGATE WOULD UNLATCH AND FALL DOWN. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (MILTON RUBEN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 3508 WASHINGTON RD, AUGUSTA, GA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR TURNED ON AND OFF. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. AFTER STARTING THE IGNITION ON THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. AT TIMES, THE POWER STEERING APPEARED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WAS DANGEROUS IF THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
CHECK ENGINE CAME ON, TOOK IT TO GET IT TESTED AND THE CODE WAS FOR CYLINDER #3 MISFIRE. CHECKED AND REPLACED SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACK, ALONG WITH TESTING THE FUEL INJECTORS, ALSO GOOD. PERFORMED COMPRESSION TEST, FAILED AT 85 PSI. REMOVED DRIVERS CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY. REMOVED LIFTERS AND FOUND CYLINDER #3 INTAKE LIFTER COLLAPSED AND BOTTOM ROLLER LOCKED UP. THE FAILED LIFTER CAUSED THE CAM SHAFT LOBE TO BE SHAVED DOWN. WITH NO CAM LOBE, THE VALVE CANNOT OPEN TO ALLOW AIR IN THE CYLINDER, CAUSING LOW COMPRESSION AND MISFIRE. THE TRUCK IS A A DODGE RAM 1500, 2013. WITH 116,000. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO A TRUCK WITH THIS LOW OF MILAGE. THIS PART WAS FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE ON DODGES PART. ESTIMATED COST $4000.
THE TRUCK SHIFTED IT SELF INTO GEAR WHILE RUNNING IT WAS IN PARK I GOT OUT AND WALKED AWAY ONCE I WAS 50' AWAY I HEARD THE TRUCK SHIFT AND TURNED JUST IN TIME TO SEE IT START ROLLING AWAY. ONCE I RECOVERED MY TRUCK FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL I THOUGH MAYBE I LEFT IT IN GEAR AND GOT OUT UNLIKELY I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR THREE YEARS. I ATTEMPTED TO SEE IF IT WOULD REPEAT I COULD NOT GET IT TO SIT ON MY DRIVEWAY IN GEAR WITH OUT ROLLING AWAY IMMEDIATELY WHILE IN GEAR. MY DRIVE WAY IS STEEP AND THIS DID CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK AND PROPERTY. THE TRUCK SHIFTED ITSELF IN TO GEAR ONCE BEFORE WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE TRUCK BUT AT THE TIME I WROTE IT OFF TO MY CONFUSION WITH THE DIAL SHIFTER AND THE TRUCK ONLY WENT A FEW FEET INTO A CURB BLOCK. NOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED I RECONSIDERED. I WILL NOT BE LETTING MY TRUCK RUN ANY MORE WITHOUT ME BEHIND THE WHEEL.
2013 DODGE RAM 1500 TRADESMAN CAUGHT ON FIRE WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT. *TR
PURCHASED TRUCK CERTIFIED USED IN OCT 2015. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD APPROXIMATELY 9 INSTANCES OF MY INSTRUMENT PANEL (OR CLUSTER) COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING. WHEN IT SHUTS OFF, THE SCREEN IN THE MIDDLE COMPLETELY GOES BLACK, THE RPMS AND SPEEDOMETER, AND OTHER GAUGES GO TO ZERO. AFTER A SECOND OR 2, EVERYTHING TURNS BACK ON AS IF I HAD JUST STARTED THE VEHICLE (RAM LOGO POPS UP, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, OIL TEMP LIGHT IS ON, GAS LIGHT IS LIGHT ON, SEATBELT LIGHT IS ON, ECT). ALL GAUGES THEN GET BACK TO THEIR PREVIOUS READINGS, AS FAR AS I KNOW, JUST BEFORE THE RESET. EACH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED, I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING ANYWHERE FROM 35-55 MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT WITH EACH TIME TELLING ME IF THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. ON A RECENT INCIDENT (9/27/16), IT HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO WORK, SO I BROUGHT IT IN THAT DAY, AS THE LAST DEALERSHIP INSTRUCTED ME TO. ONCE AGAIN, THEY COULDN'T PIN POINT THE PROBLEM, BUT HAD CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO SEE WHAT THEY WANTED THEM TO DO. CHRYSLER HAD THEM DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE, AND A WEEK LATER I HAD IT HAPPEN AGAIN AT NIGHT (10/4/16), AND ONCE AGAIN THE NEXT MORNING (10/5/16). I AM HOPING THAT THIS ISSUE DOESN'T CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING AND I JUST HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THAT YET. PLEASE HELP!
SIMILAR TO NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10898441 I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED AN INTERIOR DOME LIGHT FLICKERING AND ALSO THE DRIVERS POWER WINDOW DOOR LOCK SWITCHES STOPPED WORKING. I WAS LOCKED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS RUNNING WITH ALL DOORS LOCKED (BY ITSELF) AND WINDOWS WERE ROLLED UP. I HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE. THE SWITCH CONTINUED TO ATTEMPT LOCKING OF THE DOOR BY CONSTANTLY CLICKING. WHICH I FOUND OUT THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. I FOUND OUT THIS VEHICLE WAS MADE FOR AND FIRST SOLD IN CANADA WHICH IF THAT WAS DISCLOSED TO ME I NEVER WOULD HAVE PURCHASED IT. THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER AND THE MECHANICAL SPEEDOMETER ARE NOT SHOWING THE SAME SPEEDS. AT 30MPH THE DIGITAL ONE SHOWS 32MPH BUT AT 70MPH THE DIGITAL SHOWS 75MPH. REPAIRS ATTEMPTED AT LITHIA CHRYSLER JEEP RENO NV UNSUCCESSFUL. WHEN THE DOOR LOCKS FAILED TO WORK THE TRUCK WAS STATIONARY AND THIS LOCKING ALSO OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT SLOW AND FAST SPEEDS, CITY AND HIGHWAY.
WHEN IN PARK AND TURNED OFF GOING TO START THE TRUCK IT WILL NOT START AND STATES THE TRUCK IS NOT IN PARK. IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO START GIGGLING THE GEAR KNOB TO GET THE TRUCK TO START. ITS RANDOM DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH ANY SET CIRCUMSTANCES SUCH AS USING AUTO START PRIOR TO STARTING WITH KEY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN AND OFF FOR A YEAR WOTH MORE FREQUENT ISSUES. I TOOK INTO SHOP WHILE COVERED UNDER WARRENTY ABOUT 4 TIMES OR SO FOR THIS ISSUE THEY CLAIM THEY CANT FIND A PROBLEM AND CANT FIX UNLESS IT HAPPENS WHILE THEY HAVE THE VEHICLE. ALL REPAIRS DONE AT BEAMAN DODGE MURFREESBORO TN
WIPERS ARE ON WITH TRUCK OFF HAD TO PULL FUSE.
UCONNECT UNIT WENT OUT, NO ERROR CODES IT WAS DEAD NO RADIO NO A/C CONTROLS. CHRYSLER REPLACED IT IN AUGUST 2016. WITHIN WEEKS ( SEPT. 17TH) I WAS ON I-59 HEADED OUT OF TOWN THE ENTIRE DASH WENT OUT, INSTRUMENTS RESET CAME BACK ON, 30 MINUTES LATER DASH WENT OUT AGAIN AND RESET, 20 MINUTES LATER DASH WENT OUT AGAIN. I TURNED AROUND AND HEADED BACK HOME IT WENT OUT 2 MORE TIMES. SPEED SEEMED TO NOT AFFECT IT AS I WAS AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND ALSO IN PARK WHEN IT WENT OUT. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 3.5 YEARS AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS UNTIL THE UCONNECT UNIT WENT OUT NOR DID THE A/C DRIP WATER ON MY FOOT AND GAS PEDAL WHICH IT HAS NOW BEEN DOING SINCE UCONNECT UNIT WAS REPAIRED NOW GAS PEDAL IS SLICK WITH WATER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEPT.19 AFTER CALLING CHRYSLER. DEALERSHIP FIRST SAID BCM WAS BAD WAITED TO SEE WHAT CHRYSLER WAS GOING TO DO. THEN I GET TOLD BY DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER THAT IT IS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I TALKED TO CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM MY CONCERN SOMETHING IS MAKING THE ELECTRICAL ACT UP AND DOING RESEARCH IT MAKES SENSE THAT IT COULD BE BCM SINCE BOTH UCONNECT AND INSTRUMENT PANEL ARE CONNECTED TO IT. I NOW SEE BY READING THIS SITE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIND AND FIX THE PROBLEM. PARTS CHANGING I.E. THE UCONNECT UNIT AND NOW THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (AT MY EXPENSE), DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND NOW I AM LEERY ABOUT TRAVELING LONG DISTANCES BECAUSE NO ONE HAS 'FOUND' THE ISSUE CAUSING ALL THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WATER (CONDENSATION) DRIPPING ALL OVER MY GAS PEDAL IS DANGEROUS AND DEALERSHIP IS NOT CONCERNED, GAVE ME A LECTURE ON USING RECIRCULATE ON MY A/C (WHICH I DO). MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 23,000 MILES ON IT THERE SHOULD NOT BE ALL THESE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS.

THE DEALER (GREENBRIER DODGE OF CHESAPEAKE, 1717 S MILITARY HWY, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320, (757) 420-2800) DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTERS AND CAM SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT A WARRANTY MAY COVER THE REPAIRS; HOWEVER, ONCE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A CANADIAN VIN, THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE SERVICE AS THERE MAY BE A CANADIAN WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REACH OUT TO THE MANUFACTURER IN CANADA. IN TURN, THE MANUFACTURER IN CANADA ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER IN THE USA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NO RESOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED AN ENGINE RECALL; HOWEVER, THEY ISSUED 27 TSBS ON THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY. THE KEY WAS NOT INSIDE THE IGNITION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE COLLIDED INTO A LIGHT POLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,780.
AT STARTUP, HORN AND ALL ELECTRICAL BUTTONS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND BACK OF THE STEERING WHEEL WERE INOPERATIVE. UNABLE TO MAKE HANDS FREE CALLS, BLOW HORN, OR CHANGE DRIVERS DISPLAY SCREENS. WILL THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG WORK? TRUCK WAS SENT TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND RETURNED NOT REPAIRED. IT'S GAONG BACK AGAIN. MILAGE 21,112, OWNED 36 MONTHS AND 3 WEEKS.

THAT HAPPENED 2 TIMES. TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED. UPLOAD TO SOFTWARE WAS DONE. 2 DAYS LATER THE A/C FAN WENT OUT. IT WAS REPLACED BUT STILL TURNED OFF ANTWAY. DEALER STAYED RADIO NEED TO BE REPLACED. 5 WKS LATTER - IT'S BEYOND INSTALLED. DEALER STAYED SOFTWARE UPLOAD HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RADIO MESS UP. I BEG TO DIFFER. RADIO CONTROLS ALOT OF STUFF CRITICAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE TRUCK. IT'S HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES FOR OVER 8 MONTHS. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN I'VE DRIVEN.

TODAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, MY INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT COMPLETELY BLACK AND SPEEDOMETER WENT DOWN TO ZERO. MY TRUCK STAYED RUNNING AND DRIVING, BUT I COULD NOT READ THE SPEEDOMETER OR GAUGES OR OPERATE ANY TURN SIGNALS. THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES ON MY 45 MINUTE TRIP. THE TRUCK HIT A BANK AN FLIPPED OVER AN AIR BAGS NEVER COME OUT ON DRIVERS SIDE.
DASH PANEL FLICKERS ON AND OFF WHEN RUNNING AND DRIVING. CONTACTED RAM DIRECTLY AND SAID NO RECALLS FOR MY TRUCK. THERE IS RECALLS FOR 2013 RAMS WITH THE SAME ISSUE BUT FOR TRUCKS BUILT 2 MONTHS LATER. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT COULD LEAD TO A CRASH.
ON JULY 22ND WHEN LEAVING WORK, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND TOOK TWO LEFT HAND TURNS AND A RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO A BUSY ROAD. THE TURN SIGNALS WERE WORKING INTERMITTINGLY THE LAST TIME THEY WERE USED. ONCE THE RIGHT HAND TURN WAS COMPLETED, AND BEGAN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE DRIVERS STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DEPLOYED. ONCE THE VEHICLE CONTROL WAS REGAINED IT WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF. THE AIRBAG LOOKED TO HAVE BURN HOLE IN IT AND THERE WAS THE SMELL SIMILAR TO PLASTIC MELTING. THE KEY WAS TURNED BACK ON AND AT THAT TIME NO TURN SIGNALS WOULD WORK AND THE WIPERS WOULD NOT STOP OPERATING. ALTHOUGH THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND DIVERTED ATTENTION WHEN IT WENT OFF, IT DID NOT FULLY INFLATE EITHER. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED AND THEY RECOMMENDED FILING A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER. SINCE THE DEALER WAS ONLY A COUPLE MILES AWAY, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THEM. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THEY ADVISED THAT THE DEALER IS NOT TO TOUCH IT UNTIL AN INVESTIGATOR CONTACTS THEM, AND THAT I WILL BE PROVIDED AN ALTERNATE SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND IT WAS IN THE HANDS OF A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT THAT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO CONTACT. AFTER NUMEROUS REQUESTS TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR AND THE ALTERNATE DEPARTMENT, I WAS FINALLY CONTACTED BY MR. KON OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS ON AUGUST 15TH. HE ADVISED THAT THERE WILL BE NO TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED UNLESS CHRYSLER DETERMINES THAT THEY ARE AT FAULT FOR THIS. HE WAS ALSO UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY TIMELINE AS TO WHEN SOMEONE WOULD BE ABLE LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS ALSO TAKING THE APPROACH THAT THEY WILL NOT OFFER A SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION UNTIL IT IS APPROVED BY CHRYSLER. THE R36 RECALL RELATED TO THIS SAME SYMPTOM WAS REPORTEDLY DONE BY THE DEALER IN THE SPRING OF 2016.
SHORTLY AFTER BUYING THIS PICKUP IT WOULD STALL, THE DASH HAD AN RED ELECTRICAL INDICATOR EXPOSED. THE POWER STEERING SHUT DOWN, THE BRAKES WERE NO LONGER POWER BRAKES.. THIS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS UP TO 45 MILES AN HOUR. NEVER HAPPENED AT HIGH SPEEDS. I LIVE & DRIVE ON MOUNTAIN HIGHWAYS, AND AT TIMES IT TOOK MY BREATH. I WOULD APPLY THE GAS PEDAL, IT WOULD EVENTUALLY BEGIN RUNNING AGAIN. NO MATTER THE TIME OF YEAR. IT WASN'T EVERY DAY, MAYBE GO ALONG 2-3 MONTHS NOT HAPPENS, BUT IT MIGHT HAPPEN EVERY DAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. I TOOK THE PICKUP TO TOWN & COUNTRY DEALER IN ALAMOSA CO. TWICE, THEY WOULD DRIVE IT. THE EXPLAINED TO FIX IT, THEY WOULD NEED TO SEE IT HAPPEN. I DECIDED TO DRIVE IT. HOWEVER, TODAY I HAVE TO RELY ON OTHER PEOPLE TO DRIVE IT, AND I WORRY NOW ABOUT THERE SAFETY. I DECIDED TO TAKE A TRIP IN SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR, AND I HAVE A FRIEND DRIVING FOR ME. SO I DECIDED TO RESEARCH THE WEB ON THIS PROBLEM , FINDING THERE WERE SEVERAL CASES OF THIS HAPPENING TO DOGE PICKUPS. ONE FELLOW WAS DRIVING 80 MILES AN HOUR IN THE "FAST LANE", HIS STALLED. HE RECOMMENDED THAT IF YOU'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO NOTIFY YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. I DID, THEY ASK I FILE IT WITH YOU. I'M NOT ANGRY WITH MY DEALER, OTHER THAN THE FACT THEY ASK ME TO NOTIFY CHRYSLER, AND I TOLD THE THEY SHOULD REPRESENT ME AS THEIR CUSTOMER WITH THE COMPANY. I'M 77 YEARS OLD, BEEN DRIVING OVER 60 YEARS. I'VE NEVER HURT ANOTHER PERSON IN A WRECK, BUT THIS PICKUP IS DANGEROUS. I COULD TRADE IT IN, BUT THAT ISN'T A CHRISTIAN TYPE THING TO DO TO ANOTHER PARTY. IT'S A DILEMMA THAT I HAVE NO ANSWER FOR. IF IT WERE ONLY THIS PICKUP IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT. TODAY COMING TO A RED LIGHT, STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, LIGHT TURNED GREEN, TRUCK WAS STILL MOVING AND DIED. ALMOST HAVE BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES AS THE CAR OR TRUCK BEHIND US WAS UNAWARE THAT THE TRUCK DIED. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T DIE UNTIL A FULL STOP IS ACHIEVED OTHER TIMES IT DIES WHEN THE SPEED IS UNDER 5 MPH. ONLY THE ENGINE IS OFF, EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD WARN YOU IS STILL OPERATIONAL. THE DEALER STILL CANNOT ISOLATE THE PROBLEM, WE ARE TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING.

ACCORDING TO THE RAMFORUM.COM POSTING THREAD, THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS. THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND TAILGATE ONLY WILL LOCK WITH REMOTE, INSIDE DOOR LOCK BUTTON OR THE SENSOR SWITCH ON FRONT DOOR HANDLES. THE OTHER 3 DOORS (PASSENGER FRONT AND TWO READ DOORS DO NOT LOCK. THEY ALL UNLOCK JUST FINE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT AND ACCORDING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS ISSUE, ONLY A BCM REPLACEMENT WILL SOLVE IT. WHEN THESE LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, THE CHILD SAFETY LOCKS AND THE SPEED SENSING LOCKING SYSTEM DO NOT FUNCTION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

2013 RAM 1500 WITH 26,500 MILES ON IT, HAD FLAT TIRE AND FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER TRIED TO RELEASE THE SPARE TIRE. THE MECHANISM WOULD NOT RELEASE, HAD TO CRAWL UNDER THE JACKED UP VEHICLE AND MANUALLY TURN THE MECHANISM TO RELEASE SPARE. TOOK VEHICLE TO RAM DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY STATED THE MECHANISM WAS STRIPPED AND WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER THE 3 YEAR, 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THEY ARE STATED THAT THIS IS NOT A DEFECT IT IS FROM MISUSE. THE RELEASE HAD NEVER BEEN USED PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT AND FAILED. THEY WERE WILLING TO FIX IT FOR A LARGE FEE, BUT NOT UNDER WARRANTY. CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE TO BACK THE DEALERSHIP ON THIS AND THAT THE REPAIR CANNOT BE MADE UNDER WARRANTY. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND COMPLETE DISREGARD TO CUSTOMER SAFETY. HAVING TO CRAWL UNDER A VEHICLE BESIDE THE ROAD WITH ONLY A FACTORY JACK TO RELEASE THE SPARE TIRE IS A MAJOR HAZARD.
VEHICLE HAS SEVERE VIBRATION THAT STARTED AT APPROXIMATELY 22,000 MILES. VIBRATION HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 65 MPH IF YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE WILL SWITCH LANES ON IT'S ON AND YOU MUST SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO REGAIN CONTROL. I TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS WARPED AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS IT APPEARS SOMETHING HAD IMPACTED IT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER SHOP WHERE THEY INSPECTED THE DRIVE SHAFT AND STATED IT MAY BE WARPED BUT IT HAS NOT HAD AN IMPACT OF ANY TYPE. I TRIED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I HAVE ONLY HAD I PURCHASED IT NEW 30 MONTHS AGO AND IT ONLY HAD 25,600 MILES ON IT WHEN I TOOK IT IN UNDER MY 36 MONTH, 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. THEY ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO FIX IT FOR A HUGE FEE, BUT NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I AM TO THE POINT TO WHERE I AM GOING TO TRADE THE VEHICLE IN, DO TO THE SAFETY CONCERNS AND I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT, NOR ENDORSE THE PURCHASE OF ONE. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SATISFACTION IS NOT THEIR GOAL AND THEY COULD CARE LESS IF THEIR PRODUCT WAS TO KILL OR SERIOUSLY INJURE SOMEONE.
