I WAS STOPPED BY A TRAIN AND PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME WERE TURNING AROUND. I WAS BACKED INTO HARD AND I HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND STEERING WHEEL. MY SEATBELT DIDN'T RESTRAIN ME AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I AM HURT FROM IT . CHRYSLER WANTED TO SEE IT BUT I WAS ADVISED NOT TO LET THEM SEE IT FIRST. THE RADIATOR WAS MOVED BACK THE BUMPER IS CRUSHED. THIS TRUCK HAS HAD ISSUES SINCE I GOT IT.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD AND BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
MY HUSBAND HYDRO PLANNED ON A 3 LINE HIGHWAY. TRUCKED FLIPPED MULTIPLE TIMES. HUSBAND NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EVEN WHEN HAVING SIDE AIRBAGS. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD FAULTY SIDE AIRBAGS AND IF THEY HAD DEPLOYED WOULD HAVE PROTECTED HIS HEAD MORE.
MY SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER SIDE WILL NOT FASTEN. IT WON'T GO ALL THE WAY IN EVEN IF I PRESS THE RELEASE BUTTON IT DOES NOT CLICK TO LOCKED IT JUST COMES RIGHT OUT.
ON THE INCIDENT DATE I EXPERIENCED MY VEHICLE DRIFTING TO THE RIGHT IN STEERING. I CHECKED MY TIRE PRESSURE WHICH CHECKED OUT. I THEN HAD MY ALIGNMENT CHECK WHICH WAS FINE. I WILL SOON ROTATE TIRE ALONG WITH AN OIL CHANGED. BUT I JUST SEEN THIS RECALL ABOUT THE 1500 SERIES. EVEN THOUGH MY YEAR ISN'T LISTED. I AM WORRIED AND CURIOUS AS TO IF THE PROBLEM IS RELATED WITH SIMILAR MALFUNCTIONING PARTS.
DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AT 7:30AM ON A SATURDAY ON A 4 LANE INTERSTATE. LIGHT RAIN, TRUCK STARTED HYDROPLANING SIDEWAYS, NO TRACTION AT ALL, THEN SUDDEN TRACTION THRUSTING TRUCK INTO GUARDRAIL HEAD ON, BOUNCED BACKWARDS INTO THE MIDDLE LANE, THEN TRACTION AGAIN MOVING TRUCK FORWARD INTO A DITCH, UP THE EMBANKMENT AND HITTING A TREE HEAD ON. TOTAL LOSS OF TRACTION AND BRAKES. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. OVER $10,000 IN DAMAGE.
"TAKATA RECALL" I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 ESPRESS ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THE DEALER PROMISED TO REPLACE ANYTHING THAT WENT WRONG WITH THE TRUCK WITHIN 3 MONTHS AND 3,000 MILES. I ALSO HAVE THE REMAINDER OF THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. AS SOON AS MY WIFE AND I DRIVE THE TRUCK OFF THE LOT, THE "SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM" LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH. I TURN AROUND AND GO BACK TO THE SALESMAN. HE SAYS HE'LL FIX IT BY RESETTING THE BATTERY. I TELL HIM THAT'S TEMPORARY UNTIL THE COMPUTER RELEARNS THE ISSUE. HE TELLS US IF IT DOES HE'LL TAKE CARE OF IT AND WE CAN HAVE IT SERVICED AT ANY DODGE DEALER. IT CAME ON ON THE 100 MILE DRIVE HOME. I TOOK IT IN TO A DEALER IN CHELSEA , MI. THEY COULDN'T FIND THE AIRBAG FAULT AS THE LIGHT MYSTERIOUSLY WENT OFF. ONE DAY AFTER PICKING UP THE TRUCK, THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES BACK ON. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE AT THIS POINT TO TRY AND GET THIS RESOLVED. THEY GIVE ME A HARD TIME AND TELL ME I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FIX. I'VE CALLED THEM PROBABLY 15-20 TIMES TO GET THIS RESOLVED WITHOUT ME PAYING AN ARM AND A LEG FOR SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. I EVEN TOOK IT IN FOR A SEPERATE AIRBAG RECALL HOPING IT WOULD FIX IT. THE DEALER DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME WHAT THEY FIXED, INSTEAD THEY SAID IF I WANT THAT AIRBAG ISSUE FIXED THEY FIRST NEED TO DIAGNOSE IT TO THE TUNE OF $125.00 PLUS REPAIR COSTS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, MY "SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM" LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND IS STILL ON UNTIL I SELL THE TRUCK I GUESS. WHEN I SAID THEY WERE JUST FINED 105 MILLION FOR NOT HANDLING RECALLS/ AIRBAG ISSUES, THEY JUST SAID SO WHAT. I SAID SO YOU DON'T CARE IF I HAVE LOADED GUN AT MY FACE THAT COULD GO OFF AT ANY TIME....THEY SAID THEY RECOMMEND I DON'T DRIVE IT UNTIL IT'S FIXED....THEY REALLY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS T BONED. HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE ENTIRE DRIVERS SIDE DOORS WERE DAMAGED, FRONT AND REAR AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
WHILE DRIVING IN A 2013 RAM 1500 PENTASTAR V6 THE ENGINE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. AT LEAST ONCE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
HAD TO START BRAKING QUICKLY AND THE SHAKING WHAT THE DEALER NOW TELLS ME IS FROM WARPED ROTORS CREATED A VERY UNSAFE FEELING AND HAS TO AFFECT THE BRAKING PERFORMANCE. I BELIEVE THAT NO VEHICLE WITH NOW 27000 MILES ON IT SHOULD HAVE WARPED ROTORS. SEEMS PRETTY OBVIOUS THEY ARE EITHER DEFECTIVE OR THE CHEAPEST QUALITY ROTOR THEY COULD PURCHASE.THIS VEHICLE IIS DESIGNED FOR TOWING, AND HAULING A VARIETY OF IITEMS. ALSO AROUND THE SAME TIME I STARTED NOTICING AT TIMES A CLUNKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A STRUT BEARING GONE BAD. THEY DID REPLACE THAT PART UNDER WARRANTY. ONCE AGAIN THIS MADE THE VEHICLE STEERING FEEL UNSAFE. I HAVE CONTACTED RAM DIRECTLY AND SO FAR THEY HAVE OFFERED ZERO ASSISTANCE IN DEALING WITH THE BRAKE ROTOR IISSUE. ONCE AGAIN IT APPEARS THAT RAM OBVIOUSLY IS NOT CONCERNED WITH THE CONSUMERS SAFETY. WHETHER IT IS DEFECTIVE OR CHEAPLY MADE PARTS, THEY SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED AND RESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. I AM NOT WILLING TO PAY TO REPLACE ROTORS AND PAFS WITH ONLY 27000 MILES ON IIT. HOW MANY OTHER RAM TRUCKS ARE OUT THERE WITH THE SAME ISSUE THAT THEY ARE NOT ADDRESSING. BRAKING AND STEERING ARE 2 TOP COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLES SAFETY AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SKIRT THE ISSUES AND PUT PEOPLES LIVES AT RISK.
WHILE TRAVELING ON A PAVED ROAD AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH, RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. THE TIRE WAS SEPARATED FROM INSIDE BEAD ALL ACROSS TOP OF TREAD TO OUTSIDE BEAD. TIRE BLOWING OUT CAUSED DAMAGE TO FENDER. NO EVIDENCE THAT THE TIRE STRUCK ANYTHING IN THE ROAD, INITIAL REPORT FROM A GOODYEAR REP SAID THAT THE TIRE JUST SEPARATED. NOTHING WAS FOUND IN THE ROAD OR VICINITY TO INDICATE THAT THE TIRE STRUCK ANYTHING
THE 2013 DODGE RAM WAS THE FIRST YEAR TO USE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. THE CHIP/MODULE THAT CONTROLS THIS PROCESS IS LOCATED IN THE STEERING RACK. THE MODULE HAD AN "INTERNAL FAILURE". I WAS VERY LUCKY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY FOR ME TO SAFELY GET A VEHICLE THIS LARGE PARKED SAFELY WITHOUT ANY POWER STEERING. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE I FOUND MULTIPLE BLOGS OF PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME FAILURE (SOME WHO WERE DRIVING AT THE TIME). SINCE THIS IS NOT A PART THAT SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO WEAR AND TEAR, IT SEEMS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE ANY LIVES (OR MORE LIVES) ARE LOST.
GRINDING FROM LEFT WHEEL. VIBRATION FROM LEFT WHEEL. FRONT LEFT BEARING HUB ASSY. BAD.
I NOTICED SOME VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END WHEN I GOT OVER 55 MPH FOR A FEW DAYS, OFF AND ON, AND THEN THE VIBRATION ALMOST TURNED INTO A FLOATING/HYDROPLANING FEELING EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE FOUND TWO BOLTS THAT HOLD THE RACK N PINION STEERING TOGETHER WERE ABOUT A 1/2 TURN FROM COMING COMPLETELY DETACHED WHICH WOULD RESULT IN NO STEERING CAPABILITY. HE SAID THERE WAS NO LOCK TIGHT ON THE BOLTS AND THAT'S WHY THEY VIBRATED OUT. HAD HIM FIX IT AND CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER IN MISSOULA, MT (LITHIA DODGE) WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT IT, NOT LOOKING FOR MONEY OUT OF THEM, BUT TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THERE MAY BE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THAT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WITH ALL THE RECALLS AND NOW KNOWING THE HISTORY OF CHRYSLER DODGE TAKING CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS, I THOUGHT I SHOULD REPORT IT AS I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM CHRYSLER/DODGE OR THE LOCAL DEALER, NOR HAS MY MECHANIC. I ALSO NOTICED ON ALL OF THE LISTS FOR EITHER BUY BACK OR RECALLS THAT THE 2013 DODGE RAM WAS NOT INCLUDED. THUS, THE REASON FOR WRITING YOU FOLKS. MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO THE 2013 DODGE RAM AS WELL, AS COMPLETELY LOSING YOUR CAPABILITY FOR STEERING SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD MAKE IT TO THE TOP OF A LIST.

THE FRONT PASSENGER HAD TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY IN ORDER TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. BOUGHT THE PICKUP IN JANUARY 2016 ONE PREVIOUS OWNER EVERYTHING ORIGINAL THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT CONNECTOR PIN NEEDS TIGHTENED CONSTANTLY BECAUSE THE LOW BEAM HIGH BEAM LOSES CONNECTION AND WON'T COME ON UNLESS YOU PULL HEADLIGHT AND TIGHTEN THE CONNECTOR PINS. IT HAPPENS AT VARIOUS TIMES IN VARIOUS SITUATIONS WHILE DRIVING IT WILL ALSO FLICKER ON AND OFF. PARKLIGHT WORKS FINE. I DON'T KNOW ACTUAL DATE BECAUSE IT IS SO FREQUENTLY SO THE DATE IS AN ESTIMATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC ALIGNED THE FRONT END, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.

CENTER DASH CLUSTER REBOOTS WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE KEEPS RUNNING WHILE CLUSTER RECYCLES. IT HAS OCCURRED DOZENS OF TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT OCCURS AT MULTIPLE SPEEDS AND SOMETIMES WHEN I AM SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT. I HAVE BEEN REPORTING THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS SINCE IT FIRST OCCURRED. NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A CLUE AS TO THE ROOT CAUSE. MULTIPLE SOFTWARE UPDATES HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. I STARTED NOTICING MY DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT FLICKERING FOR A FEW DAYS AND NOW THE LOW AND HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ARE BOTH OUT. I ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE BULBS AND REALIZED THEY WERE FINE. THE DAY AFTER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON BY THEMSELVES AND NOW MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WONT ROLL DOWN. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS MY (TIPM) TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE AND IT WILL COST AROUND $800 OR MORE TO REPLACE. SO I DID SOME RESEARCH AND CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO PAY THIS MUCH MONEY FOR A FAULTY PART AND FROM THE SOUNDS OF IT, IM LUCKY TO HAVE THE LITTLE PROBLEMS I DO. REPORTS OF PEOPLES VEHICLES STALLING, NOT STARTING, AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING, ETC.. HOW IS THIS NOT A RECALL? PEOPLES LIVES COULD BE AT RISK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO INFORMED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN WHICH ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
CHECK AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON DESPITE FOUR DIFFERENT ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT EVENTUALLY THE WIRE CAN DISCONNECT FROM THE AIRBAG ITSELF AND THE WHOLE SYSTEM WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TAKEN FOR A TEST DRIVE AFTER THE REPAIR. IT SEEMS TO COME BACK ON 2-3 DAYS LATER.

WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH THE DASH SHUT DOWN FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. IT HAS DONE THIS THREE OTHER TIMES AND WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SO NOTHING GETS DONE ABOUT IT. I AM AFRAID THAT THERE MAY BE A LOOSE CONNECTION SOMEWHERE THAT WILL CAUSE HEAT AND BURN MY TRUCK, OR I MAY GET STARTLED AS THE DASH STARTS FLASHING ON AND OFF AT NIGHT AND JERK THE STEERING WHEEL AND WRECK THE TRUCK. THERE IS A LOUD "CLICK" NOISE INSIDE OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL. IT OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS THE WHEEL COMPLETELY TURNED TO ONE DIRECTION WHICH MAKES ME BELIEVE IT'S STEERING OR SOMETHING INSIDE THE SUSPENSION. IT WAS TOLD TO ME AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS A BALL JOINT, WHICH WAS REPLACED AND IT STILL HAPPENED AGAIN.

ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS WORK INTERMITTENTLY ON THE FOUR DOOR OF THE CAB. IT IS NOT A DOOR ACTUATOR ISSUE AS THE DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK IN AN UNUSUAL PATTERN. IT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO A CONTROL MODULE. THIS DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK ISSUE COULD INTERFERE WITH CHILD SAFETY LOCKS AS I SEE IT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS AS EVIDENCED WITH ONLINE SEARCHES.
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY BEGAN EMITTING A LOUD GRINDING TYPE NOISE, IT STOPPED PULLING FORWARD, AND COMPLETELY STALLED IN THE ROADWAY. AFTER I PARKED ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND PLACED THE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK, THEN BACK IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SLOWLY STARTED TO PULL FORWARD AGAIN EMITTING THE LOUD GRINDING TYPE NOISE. FORTUNATELY, I WASN'T TRAVELING AT A FASTER SPEED OR ON THE FREEWAY WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC WHEN THE MALFUNCTIONS OCCURRED. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A COLLISION BECAUSE IF APPEARED AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION WAS GOING TO FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CARRIED THE VEHICLE IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR ON EACH OCCASION TO NO AVAIL.
ON THE EVENING OF JANUARY 14TH 2015, I DROVE TO A LOCAL GAS STATION AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE WHILE I PUT FUEL IN MY TRUCK. WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START AND THE MESSAGE CENTER STATED "WRONG KEY FOB". THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. IT HAS NOW BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR 5 DAYS. THE DEALER THINKS THAT POSSIBLY THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS 37,100 MILES. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE SHUT OFF, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD HAVE LOCKED, AND I WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND MAY HAVE CRASHED. *TR
HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES WITHIN 30 DAYS. AT LOW SPEEDS BETWEEN 15MPH AND 35MPH, ENGINE STOPS, GAUGES GO DEAD AND APROX 6 SECONDS LATER THE TRANSMISSION SLAMS INTO PARK. 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS LIGHTLY BREAKING & COASTING FOR A STOP LIGHT; 2ND TIME I WAS CRUISING ABOUT 35MPH; AND 3RD TIME I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A DEAD STOP ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION GOING INTO PARK AFTER THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WENT DEAD REMINDS ME OF WHEN YOU TURN THE IGNITION OFF WITHOUT FIRST PUTTING IT INTO PARK - WHEN THIS HAPPENS, A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE TRANSMISSION AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS INTO THE PARK POSITION. I HAD AT LEAST 1/2 TANK OF GAS EACH OCCURRENCE. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP ON 1/14/15, DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 2 WEEKS BEFORE THEY CAN CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM, WHICH I CONSIDER SERIOUS. ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL INFO THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED: THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FREQUENTLY MALFUNCTIONS - THE PLAY LIST FOR SONGS DUPLICATES IN THE LISTING, SONGS REPEAT TWO TO THREE TIMES, SD CARD SELECTION STOPS WORKING, SD CARD SELECTION ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPS RECOGNIZING THE SD CARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE MY GAUGE CLUSTER INTERMITTENTLY REBOOTS ITSELF WHILE DRIVING. I WOULD SAY THIS OCCURRENCE HAS HAPPENED OVER 20 TIMES DURING THE YEAR I HAVE OWNED MY TRUCK. I BOUGHT IT BACK IN OF SEPTEMBER 2013. IN ADDITION, I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY MAP LIGHTS FLICKER. NOT SURE IF IT'S AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I'VE BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN TO THE RAM DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE NO ERROR LOGS IN THE TRUCK'S COMPUTER SYSTEM. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS FORUMS WITH OTHER 2013 RAM TRUCK OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PHENOMENON AND WHO HAVE BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE WITH NO LUCK. *TR
